20 Best Filling For Marble Cake (2023 Updated)

Made these for a party where only 2 out of 23 guests where gluten sensitive. No one knew the wiser! Topped with homemade cream cheese frosting, they were delish! I will mention that there is a bit of a grainy texture that, if you eat gluten free regularly, you would be able to tell that it’s gluten free.

But this graininess made it taste ‘homemade’ rather than the almost too perfect spongy, fine and refined taste of box cupcake mix. Also, once in the fridge, these cupcakes became a little too firm compared to regular cupcakes.

Many GF cakes and breads add sorghum to make it seem more like gluten breads and cakes. This one doesn’t and my family likes it, so everyone can eat my birthday cake and enjoy it. I use this with Miss Jones chocolate frosting and kids beg for more.

FYI order really early for your needs!! My order was over 10 days late. Blamed it on pandemic and gave me 10% off next order. Not really helpful for current inconvenience. CS is lacking.

Where is it? Can’t find original DH Marble Cake Mix anywhere for 2-3 years now in any store in my area. A year ago I found the blue cover box of their perfectly moist marble but the batter wasn’t same, not really enough for two cake pans.

Has the original been discontinued? My ratings are for the original, not the other.

This is hands down a family fave. Mom used to make it when I was a kid. Their cakes are suuuuuuper moist. Moreso than other brands. And the marble cake …. Best of both worlds. Chocolate and vanilla. Homemade chocolate icing extra thick and a cold glass of moo juice.

Perfect dessert!! **note … I had to scroll through ver 50 Duncan Hines cakes treats to tag this one. OMG!!! I want to move to the States. We don’t have any of that tastiness in Canada lol.

This is my all time favorite cake to make and eat. We have been having this cake for family events for decades! I’m concerned that it has recently disappeared from shelves in many CT stores. Luckily Big Y is still carrying this one.

Here’s hoping that Duncan has no plans to discontinue this delicious dessert. Love it!!.

They look exactly as shown but taste way too sweet and lemony. The cake itself is ok and of course is a little dry due to it being a packaged baked good. The part that I thought was going to supplement that is the icing, but it way too sweet and the lemon flavoring is over welming and disgusting.

Its a really bad combo. I would NOT recommend them at all. Most of us that order here live in PA and quite frankly the $2 boxes of Tastykake are better and Entenmanns makes pound cake which is also waaaay better.

Pass on these, trust me. $30+ is ridiculous and the instructions say you have to keep them refrigerated or frozen, that’s a horrible sign. I have never seen pound cake in a fridge or freezer before until I did it myself, how embarrassing.

I wanted to love it. Frosting is too sweet. I love everything lemon and I’m still searching for that perfect lemon cake. This cake is average. It’s consistency it’s good but I wish there was more lemon flavoring in the actual cake.

It is more like a butter poundcake with a hint of lemon. The frosting is pure sugar and even though I like really sweet, the contrast between the not so sweet cake and that overly sweet frosting is too much.

I’ll keep looking.

My mother in law ordered these. Excited to taste her favorite flavor lemon. She said it tasted sweet but not lemon, was extremely disappointed because now she has 11 1/2 pound cakes. I tried and she is right.

We are going to try to figure out something to make with them, but would not recommend. She won’t call and complain, she is old school and doesnt like to complain. She was excited to give these out – she hasnt been out since the pandemic started and doesnt do anything but online shop.

If I had to choose only one chocolate dessert for the rest of my life, out of anything in the world (even including gluten-containing desserts), I would choose this marble cake. It’s so good that I always end up hoping the paper at the bottom is digestible, because I just haven’t been able to throw it away without scraping every thing from it with my teeth and not caring about the actual paper I end up eating.

I cut a thick slice from the frozen loaf and let it sit at room temperature for like 15 mins – I like it best when it’s still cool vs room temperature or warmed.

My wife, a snob when it comes to things chocolate lives off your marble cake. She cuts thin slivers all night long to extend her pleasure. It’s fun to watch. She treats the cake like it precious, doling it out tiny piece by tiny piece.

Silly but charming. If I behave myself, she will give me, the son of a Jewish baker from Brooklyn, one generous slice once in a great while. Obviously my expectations are high; your GF marble cake is very, very nice.

This was the first loaf that I tried from Katz. And it’s absolutely delicious! Gone through a couple of them already, and I have one on reserve in the freezer. Which is a good thing, since I just noticed that they’re out of stock right now.

It sure pays to buy more than one!.

I bought this around December 2021, to use as decoration for my gingerbread men. It’s okay, but just be warned you’ll get liquid at the beginning before solid icing comes out. Its also very sweet.

We use this icing in my advisory to decorate cookies for different holidays. Certainly a lot more pricey than alternatives, but in a school setting it keeps things nice and easy to clean. Highly recommend to other teachers.

For home baking projects, I would use a cheaper alternative.

This came out more like a gel than a creamy icing. It was the only brand my store had and it doesn’t come with any tips. It’s affordable and easy in a pinch but I wouldn’t purchase this particular brand again.

I bought three of these because I LOVE them and because I have a black and white event I am using these for! THEY ARE GORGEOUS – AND 12″ diameter – not just 10″!! But know this! Sometimes the marble is not spliced together perfectly.

Sometimes, the base screw could be a little skewed, and ALWAYS it seems – the marble is grey and not black. BUT THERE IS A GREAT SOLUTION!! If you love the grey, it is very pretty. The black however (the wet look that you see in the picture) is absolutely striking, but was not a part of any of these three.

I was almost disappointed but I bought some Tenax Ager Color Enhancing Granite Sealer, Marble Sealer, & Stone Sealer, that promises that sharp wet black look! I have not quite yet tried it, but the good news is that I am guessing these marble pieces are not sealed yet, as a damp cloth does indeed very temporarily darken the black portion of the marble.

This was so cute, but so disappointing. When I received it, the cake platform was slightly off kilter. Returned, ordered another, and the second one was worse. Looks like the pieces/holes are not centered, prohibiting the platform from being level when assembled.

A real bummer, because I love the look.

Gorgeous cake stand. Really good quality, real marble & very well packed. Looked absolutely beautiful when I served chocolate dipped strawberries on it. Too many compliments!

I was glad to find a cake online that could be ordered in such short notice. It arrived well packed and still frozen. It was much smaller however than I even imagined and was somewhat dry. The icing was good.

But the cake part was dry and the cake dried out pretty fast. We threw about 1/3 of it away. But I did serve the purpose.

This is easy to use and tasty if you like the boxed cake taste. Some people don’t like the obviously yellow cake taste but I enjoy it and do not mind it. I do bake from scratch but sometimes you just want something fast and to bring back the nostalgic childhood memories.

Cake mixes were common in my childhood and every mom used them when classmates brought cupcakes in. The oil makes it stay moist. You can add extra eggs if you like less crumb and more bounce. I will also add in a can of crushed pineapple to make it into a pineapple cake.

I love parfaits. So lately I’ve been baking my favorite Betty Crocker cake mix flavor that I love and making parfaits. Take your baked cake after it’s baked and cooled down, cut it into bite size morsels and put them into a pretty bowl or individual parfait glasses, layering with whipped cream, your favorite pudding or jello, topping it off with your choice of fresh fruit.

This mix tastes just like the major less-than-healthy brands. I used this mix to make an Italian Cream cake so I did have to bake it a little more than the time on the box but it turned out great. My only complaint is it’s very sweet.

Of course, a cake is supposed to be sweet but I found this a little too sweet. Still, it’s a good and healthy alternative to Duncan Hines.

Best chocolate boxed cake, ever. Love to keep this on hand. You never know when you have to whip something up in a hurry. Highly recommend!

This cake is incredibly moist, flavorful, and tastes as though made from scratch! I was skeptical but now I’m a believer! Try it. No modifications needed. All organic ingredients. The best! Honestly!

I like this icing. Needed the icing to set up quickly so we could transport easily. This sets up in about 15 minutes, getting progressively harder as you wait. You cut the tip to whatever thickness you want.

For children I would cut the tip at the second line so it is easier for them to squeeze out the frosting. Have them practice on a piece of plastic wrap first. It’s a beautiful vibrant red color. Can be used for string work, but work quickly.

I bought this to use as a dispenser for Sour Cream for a large dinner we were hosting where we were serving Tacos and burritos as the main food items. It worked great! It is really easy to load, and the thumb squeeze tab for dispensing is really effective and easy to use.

Cleanup was also a breeze. Can’t say how it would work as a decorator, but as a sour cream dispenser it is excellent.

I’ve used this product to decorate cupcakes on multiple occasions, and loved the ease of use and professional looking results. I can get 24 cupcakes done in 4 fills of the tube with significantly less mess.

However, after about 10 uses over a 2 year period, both the main tube and one of the couplers have cracked. I thought perhaps replacement parts could be bought preventing me from having to throw away the entire setup and buy a new one, but the previous replies to comments and lack of replacement parts on the website seem to indicate that I will have to do that.

I’d recommend it to anyone, but with the caveat that you should expect to replace it after what I would consider not very heavy use.

Thought this would be easier than using traditional bags. Holds enough icing for approx. 9 cupcakes. The tips are bigger than the steel ones and are not numbered like the steel tips. Feels harder to control than tradition bags and steel tips.

These plastic tips are quite large. Enjoyed the filler tip and it worked great! Star tip decorating uses more frosting than steel star tip. Would be useful for someone that has not decorated before. Thumb used to control amount of frosting dispensed gets tired quickly.

If I could leave zero stars I would. I’m not a person who complains or writes bad reviews but this was awful. It’s not even edible. I’ve tried to multiple times to eat it. It looks NOTHING like the picture.

The top is just a brown gelled blob. There are no cream layers whatsoever. It’s very dry, tastes like dry stale bread with a liquor taste. I was very dissapointed as I love tiramisu. Wish I could get my money back.

And it doesn’t say to refrigerate which is bizarre, if it’s shelf stable maybe that’s why it’s so bad?.

Very greasy, not enough cream, no care put in the shipping, and not worth the price. Amazon has this for much cheaper and it will arrive in the same condition this did. Honestly your better off just ordering the 59 dollar Tiramisu they have as a sponsored product than buying this if you truly want Tiramisu.

This is simply the best tiramisu that I have had in a very long time. Perhaps a little costly, but you can skip dinner and just have this! 🤠

These are fun cakes. There’s not really any vanilla flavor or any flavor other than sugar lol, but the cakes are moist and very pleasant. The size is perfect for me too. For reference, I think Twinkie’s are too sweet and have an awful artificial flavor.

These Little Debbies are a nice indulgence. I don’t know why this pandemic is just making me crazy and craving sugary and naughty food, but thank God for Target lol. Stay safe guys and I hope everyone is healthy and doing all right!.

I’ve loved these ever since they’ve been around this is the closest thing to wedding cake without having an actual cake in front of you. It’s absolutely moist flavorful. It isn’t overly sweet eater.

Extremely affordable.

If you like SWEET and I mean sweet, you’ll be a fan of these. They taste very artificially flavored but, in the best way possible. I don’t eat these often, I can’t imagine how bad they are for you but, they’re a guilty little pleasure.

I love the bite on the outside coating and the size of these little individually wrapped cakes are adorable!.

The cake tasted okay. nothing spectacular, but decent (I’ve DEFINITELY had worse, including from Walmart). The best thing I can say is, it’s PRETTY. and moist. The icing on the outside was stiff; not hard, or dry, just stiff (I don’t know how else to describe it).

The tiny nonpariels on the outside were a nice touch, ‘jazzing it up’ and giving it some texture. Would I get it again? Possibly, if I had a craving for a piece of cake and there wasn’t any other type available which didn’t interest my more.

Or, if I needed a full cake for a party. it’d be a fun party cake.

I been wanting the rainbow cake but the Carlos bakery rainbow cake on door dash was very expensive so I came across this one at Walmart witch was very inexpensive !! It was surprisingly very well!!cake was moist! kinda a normal vanilla cake taste! Frosting isn’t super creamy it’s more on the dense side but melts in your mouth but that’s because it was in the fridge part of the store!! Over all I’d definitely get this again when I get a sweet tooth!!.

These rainbow vanilla cake slices are wonderful! They have a rich vanilla flavor that isn’t like any other vanilla cake I have eaten from Walmart. The colors are bright and vibrant but they do not change the cakes flavor.

My family enjoys these slices with Vanilla Bean ice cream. My ONLY negative is–How do I buy an entire cake like this??.

This “cake” doesn’t even have truffle in it. It was very disappointing. After trying it out, I went to look at the ingredients. Lo and behold, truffle isn’t even listed in the ingredients. This “cake” is false marketing.

They are charging $3 for 3oz of pudding and 1oz of cake. This “cake” isn’t even a cake. 1 inch of the bottom is cake. The other 2 inches that complete the “dome” of it is PUDDING. Lying about the product like this should be illegal.

You can’t market it as a truffle cake if it doesn’t even have truffle and is mostly pudding, not cake! Really Walmart? This cake is filled alright, filled with lies and cheap chocolate pudding; certainly not truffles!.

This was a substitute for the bavarian filled donuts that Walmart apparently cannot keep stocked! But these are Delicious!!! Definitely try! You won’t be disappointed!

I have only been able to find them in one store. (Jacksonville, ill.) I was told 2 months ago that they will no longer carry it. SO VERY DISAPPOINTING!! It’s DELICIOUS

This is a really great value. Excellent quality, cake is super moist, it’s filled with lovely chocolate mousse and topped with dark chocolate ganache. My only complaint was that I ordered pickup and the bar they picked for me was poorly cut so half of the side was hanging off.

I still give it 5 starts because it’s such a great deal. I buy a similar “Cakerie” cake from a competitor and it cosys $14. 99 for 6 servings. This will serve double that at least, I’d say.

We decided to try this cake and glad we did. The dark chocolate icing on top is the best. Wish it had chocolate curls all over the top instead of just one little sprinkle. It’s perfect with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

I ordered my mother’s favorite cake, Black Forest, to be delivered on 2/12/21, for her on her 80th birthday. It is now 2/14/21 and still no cake. I paid over $100, which included shipping, to have this cake at her home in time for her and my father, who is 91, to celebrate.

Because of the pandemic, none of us kids were able to join her to celebrate this milestone. I’m very sad and disappointed that this little jester for my mother never made it in time.

I never received this item. Shows it was shipped on Wednesday Feb. 10 to arrive Thursday Feb. 11. UPS tracking showed out for delivery on Friday Feb. 12. Now it showing it is still in Louisville KY. and maybe delivered on Monday Feb15.

So much for having Black Forest Cake to surprise my German Girl Friend on Valentine’s Day. Not the fault of 1-800-BAKERY but they should use FEDEX instead of UPS. Anything I get shipped UPS always arrives late or not at all.
