Best File Manager For Ubuntu (2025 Updated)

Pendaflex Divide-It-Up folders have taking a concept that I use in my business and made it in to a reality. The folders are made from a slightly thinner paper stock the what I am accustomed to. This I believe, is so we can allow for the “pockets” that are inside.

It is not your typical two pocket system that we all are probably familiar with from high school or college. These folders allow a person to separate a paper, report, file etc in to 3 factions. Their concept is displayed as one pocket holds your agenda for a January sales meeting, the second holds your itinerary, and the third your receipts from the trip.

The actual folder has an expandable fold to allow for multiple pages to be inserted in each pocket. However, the pockets themselves are not truly expandable but will hold plenty of pages each. For me, in my business (financial planning) it would allow me to include a client profile, a summary of what we discussed, and a call to action or “homework” I would need my clients to do.

The quality of the folders is above average except for one small piece. The main “tab,” or location where we would display the client name or event is prone to quick bending. This happens with all folders, but I noticed this immediately because it was already bent when I unwrapped it.

This is most likely due to the paper stock being thinner then their regular folder but may be necessary in order to hold the extra pockets. I included a picture I took immediately after opening the pack.

These folders and pockets fit 8. 5 x 11 or smaller sheets. The packet came in yellow, blue, and red and has 24 total folder in them.

These aren’t your ordinary file folders. they are multisection file folders for superior organization. These file folders come in three colors (yellow, red, and blue). Each folder has four tabs, each with it’s own section to help you organize papers, receipts, etc.

As a teacher, I go through many, many, many file folders each school year. I have always had several file folders for each student; one for reading assessments, one for math assessments, one for writing samples, one for contact information and records of parent contact, etc.

Organized? I think not. Yes, I have a good start, but after that everything is simply thrown inside. I have tried organizing the contents of each folder using sticky notes for separation, but this hasn’t worked great.

With the Pendaflex File Folders, I can keep a file folder for reading assessments with subsections for sight words, nonsense words, reading passages, etc. The contents of my writing folders are now divided by quarter (1st quarter, 2nd quarter, etc.

) They have helped my organization immensely! All I can say is AWESOME!.

I am a stay-at-home mom, so my needs are a bit different. I am always looking for a way to help organize all the paperwork my children bring home. For the longest time, everything sat in a pile on the microwave.

Of course, I do a daily shuffle of it, but things do seem to have a way of being forgotten. When I received these folders in the mail and opened the box, the first thing I thought was that these could potentially be a solution to my clutter problem.

I have three children, and these folders work perfectly for dividing up paperwork among them: homework, to-be- signed forms, personal documents, and so on. I really like how each folder is divided into three sections using pockets, with each section having its own tab.

I also like how, as long as you don’t overfill the section, your papers will not slide out. It’s great to be able to throw the folders in my bag, which I now frequently do, and not have to worry about losing my paperwork.

I am very pleased with these folders. I have been using them for client files in my business for five years. I can always find them in the volume I need. They are great file folders and provide the appropriate space to split up client demographic information, care plans, nursing notes and invoices/payment info.

They hold up and last very well.

This was perfect for storing materials from a class – I could put my notes in one compartment, and samples and pictures in the others. The whole thing could be stored upright in a bookcase. I was a little disappointed because the description said the pockets were closed on two sides – I assumed it meant both vertical sides, as well as the bottom, but it was on just the bottom and one side.

Still, nothing seemed to fall out.

I wish I had gotten one of these a long time ago. It’s better than I thought it would be. The only thing I wish was different was the 2nd file department. The files hang down into the storage area. I would like to see the file area enclosed like the other file area.

It’s not a huge problem though. The unit is a little pricey as well but with it being a specialized product I understand. It’s perfect for my regular cab F150.

This is a great product! I work primarily from my vehicle and I have multiple files and desk items. It has brought order to my vehicle. No more sliding files or searching for the right one. It was easy to install, seems very durable, and has great storage capacity and compartments.

My phone and tablet rest securely on the non-slide top. This is a must have for mobile office workers.

This has really increased my productivity. I don’t have to put my computer on the floor out of reach anymore. My computer sits right next to me, plugged into the car charging while I drive, then I can park and do my work anytime, anywhere.

It’s perfect for me.

Thought this was the cat’s meow for my older wheelless file cabinet. These were not in stock so I ordered from my local Staples. Came in earlier than expected which was nice. When I went to assemble it I found a manufactures defect in one of the welded corners.

The pieces were not perfectly perpendicular in fact they were way off. I had to use my metal working skills to align the pieces before they would attach to each other. Once I had worked my magic the caddy bolted together, I sized it to my cabinet as it was adjustable.

Worked great and would buy another as long as I had it shipped to my local store-inspecting it first before taking home.

This file caddy is well made and goes together easily without the need for tools. The instructions to a second to figure out, but after that it was smooth sailing. It seems to be made well and it works just as advertised.

It is adjustable for different sizes of file cabinets so make sure you measure before assembly. The only slight concern is with the durability of the wheels. Time will tell, but if needed I think one could replace the wheels with something more durable.

I have used Smead products for decades, due to their stout construction. I used to buy them inside the OD store, then OD quit stocking them. Smead products are of much better quality than Office Depot brand.

Plus, Smead offers the Easy Grip feature which makes it much easier to lift out of a file cabinet. It does NOT list “reinforced” on the packaging, but on the website it shows the reinforcement material.

The directions to the left of this commentary say “don’t mention customer service here, contact us. for this. ” But, it doesn’t do any good, nothing changes. Smead products are (still) only available online.

I find that Expanding File Pockets, popularly known as Redwelds, are incredibly useful for a wide variety of business and personal organizing purposes. Electronic forms of organization are useful for many purposes.

But particularly when you are trying to organize a wide variety of documents, plans, photos, maps, etc. , Redwelds give particularly useful flexibility. For example, if you are writing a book or preparing a presentation, with complicated graphics, you can use one Redweld for each chapter, then insert file folders with the documents, plans, photos, maps, etc.

that you are also planning to use. You can also insert notepads in file folders, and insert them in the Redweld as appropriate for notes. Lawyers have traditionally Redwelds for organizing, but more people should know about them.

FINALLY, black folders! They look great! They are slightly shorter than the tan folders I have so the papers stick up a little into the tabs and cover the labels maybe 1/8. But its not bothering me that much.

They could also be cut a little cleaner. But whatever, I like them and they look 100x better than tan folders.

I love many aspects of this folder design, and have enjoyed Smead products for a long time. This company helped cultivate my unyielding love of office supplies. Recently the card stock used to craft these folders has changed.

The surface is more fibrous, and not as smooth. This means ink pens now bleed readily when writing on them, and even using a standard Post-It note causes a swath of fibers to pull up and leave the surface marred.

Also, they seem to be moving to use a thinner stock. In an office that uses folders to contain files that can last 40+ years, this is not a great change. I hold hope that the changes are a trial run and that the quality will return.

We bought the black filing cabinet. It has one big drawer for hanging files and 2 small drawers for supplies. Shipping was faster than expected. Packaging was exceptional, no dents at all. Keys for locking were provided – no problem locking drawers.

The optional wheels were sent separately, though not needed as the cabinet has standard legs. Fits under desk, however, I put it next to desk and placed printer on top clearing desk space.

Prior to ordering this file cabinet, I had purchased 2 others, both online, and I had to return both for a refund. Both arrived damaged. Apparently, the manufacturer didn’t care if they were packed well enough to withstand being shipped without becoming damaged.

When I received this cabinet from Poppin however, I was extremely impressed with how well it was packed. There was significantly more styrofoam around it than the other 2 had and, in addition, it was the strongest styrofoam I have ever seen.

In fact, when I went to break it up to discard it afterwards, I couldn’t even do it. It wouldn’t bend to be able to snap it. So I tried standing on it, but it still didn’t break. Then, I got a steak knife to attempt to cut it up, but the handle broke off the knife.

I was amazed. I finally had to get out my handsaw and cut it that way. That worked! Thank you, Poppin, for your attention to the packaging! The quality of this cabinet is very nice, I am very happy with this purchase!.

I saw this item on sale at a brick & mortar store (The Container Store), however they were out-of-stock at the location that could ship to me. Consequently, I went to the source, Poppin. com, to order & inquired if they would honor the sale price.

Their rep. declined & said they would not be able to offer the 20% off. Since they showed a lack of customer service, I will not be purchasing products from this company in the future. As far as the actual product review, it functions exactly how a filing cabinet should.

The wheel has not been reinvented, but this one is cuter than traditional ones. It fit under my desk, but stuck out too much to look streamlined, so in a closet it goes. I suggest purchasing it with casters, so that it’s convenient to move.

My other suggestion is for Poppin to create & sell artsy, /design-aesthetic hanging file folders. seems like an easy sell to those customers who are purchasing these drawer file cabinets.

These are practical affordable folders. Big fan of our local store for years. Kudos to our new store manager for her fresh items in all categories. Ink supplies I was thrilled to find.

This is used to hold hefty files for each of my students, however, this particular size which I thought was for letter size paper/files does not fit in a filing cabinet drawer. I had to put them in the cabinet sideways to make them fit, so the position of the accordion file is not where I can view the name of on the file.

Pendaflex’s reinforced edging makes for a longer-lasting product. Doesn’t break down as easily as other brands. Holds up to yanks and pulls from the file cabinet without tearing.

Good sturdy file, takes all the patterns I wished to store. Seems very robust

Good Quality Completely as expected

If you’re one of those people who has a hard time understanding instructions, just get some help. I could not figure it out. My husband did, even without instructions. He did need instructions for the lid, though, because that was a little trickier.

It is tall enough to store all kinds of files. I also use it for posters and wrapping paper. However, if you want to store smaller rolls, it is a lot harder to get them out of the box, so I wouldn’t necessarily recommend that.

It is pretty big, so you can’t easily pick it up and move around, but I was able to push it around until I got it to where I wanted it to be. On the good side, it is pretty lightweight. I have another file holder, made from wood, and that is a whole different story.

You can’t just slide it around easily. The lid seems to seal pretty well, so hopefully, the bugs will stay away. I love the label boxes on the lid, which allow you to locate each file easily.

I have a daughter who works at a movie theater and always brings home movie posters. So this is very useful for keeping our extra posters safely tucked away. It was easy to assemble. The direction are some to follow.

It holds our movie posters and our homeschool posters and our Christmas wrapping paper right now. Some of our wrapping paper rolls are a bit too tall for the box so the lid isn’t securely on it but it gets the job done.

Everything is neat and out of the way. We use the system on the box to keep up with what item is in each slot. Very useful feature as long as the lid doesn’t get turned around.

This cabinet is big and does take up some space in my office. It was easy to put together. The top is a little flimsy but holds in place. I had longer blueprints that I needed to store and preserve, and this cabinet fit about 16 blueprints in place but it was tight.

I think because the blueprints were slightly thicker. The cabinet did not have much give. I love the label spots were already on the box. It made it easier to find what I was looking for. I will definitely continue using this cabinet in the near future.

From what I can tell from opening the box of 25, they look very sturdy. We put our individual payroll sheets in them throughout the year and they will come in handy doing this. I like the 3 1/21 expansion because the papers fit in them without be crunched.

It make for a neat filing holder.

Office 2003, in my opinion, is really the last good version of Microsoft’s Office suite. It doesn’t have the ribbon, or any of the fancy online features Office 2010 and newer do. Plus it has unlimited activations – no limited installation antics that Microsoft implemented into Office 2010 and newer.

I love Office 2003 and older because they just work. Nothing to fiddle around with. Sure, you might have to tinker slightly when running the programs on newer versions of Windows (the EULA popping up every time you start an Office program was known to Microsoft, and it even persisted in Office 2010, however that can be fixed by running each program as administrator and accepting) but otherwise it’s caused me zero problems.

The only downside to using an Office version this old is that Outlook 2003 doesn’t support the necessary security protocols (TLS & STARTTLS) to securely connect to modern email servers that don’t support using SSL anymore, such as Microsoft’s own Outlook email service.

which is embarrassing for them to say the least. If anyone else finds a copy of Office 2003 or older for cheap, pick it up! These older versions are great for work, even in 2019. Since the original. doc,.

xls, and. ppt formats are still supported in Microsoft Office 2019 / Office 365, no-one should give you grief. As for what I recommend? Office 2003, Office XP (2002), or Office 2000 at the very least.

Make sure you pick up a decent enough version – look up the version list for 2003, XP or 2000 on Wikipedia before you buy!.

I love this office suite because if offers everything I need without the (IMO) ugly changes Microsoft made after this version. Other people feel differently, not minding all the online stuff and the big ribbon UI.

We all have our own preferences. Previously, I had this version installed on two of my computers, but everything was lost in the California fires. I was so relieved to find this product available. MS Office 2003 Professional is infinitely customizable, totally reliable, and easy to work with.

MS Access is part of the suite. I don’t think a better database application was ever made. I was lost without it.

Great software. I purchased without noticing the UPGRADE sticker. This will only upgrade an existing office product, not an initial install. It is still possible to fully activate this legacy software, although automatic methods no longer work.

An 800 number plus using a Non-Smart Phone registration will generate code keys and activate, also allowing reinstall later. Make sure to write down all the numbers before advancing through the activation process.

There is a BACK button later, but it’s greyed out. I was not able to get the numbers to display again.

Sad to say pink plastic cover construction in two pieces separated when I folded back the cover of this beautiful pink file folder. Compared the construction of the Staples product with the “soldout” other version I purchased where cover & file holder box constructed in all one piece & learned my lesson.

This was purchased to replace another branded product. The number of pockets was perfect for our needs, the closure seems like it will last. I will be purchasing more of these in the future.

I am self-employed and keep monthly folders for my small business. I wanted to save space. These folders are ideal for holding receipts and other back up information by month for tax purposes.

I purchased this to get control over a large recipe collection. First, I could not find the index tab labels and the person at the store told me there were none. I shook it upside down and looked in, but only found the labels when I was filing, had already cut my own.

The file sections are a good size but the cover is awkward when opened. Its weight pulls the whole container back and over, even after many items are filed inside. The only way to keep it upright when open is to park it against something solid or heavy.

I prefer the solid plastic file containers that I used to find at Staples.

This plastic accordion file is superior to old cardboard versions, with built in label slots. it is ideal when planning documents for an estate plan. You can easily organize and collect copies of mortgages, insurance policies, bank accounts, investments, personal documents, etc.

and have them readily accessible in one place. Once you get started, you may need two like I did. It allows you to bring the critical documents to planning meetings with your attorney. One downside is it is hard to keep upright once you start filling it up as the cover is attached.

I bought this well made folio for a young professional who needed something at home to keep their paperwork like bills and other important documents organized in, and handy when needed. Just starting out, it wasn’t necessary for them to have a file cabinet so this worked perfectly for their needs.

It does the job, has plenty of pockets. includes labels, and most importantly doesn’t take up as much room as a file cabinet. Great option for the beginner who is trying to get more organized.

It worked out well, very sturdy. I had to fabricate a 1/2″ spacer to fit my cabinet. If longer rods were an option it may be faster to install. Overall an excellent product and great value.

I purchased 3 of these to put in a desk drawers to make them into a hanging file drawers. They fit in the drawers perfectly. You can screw it into the drawer to prevent it from rocking back and forth when you open the drawer.

This company’s products never disppoint.

I have a similar game by EA Sports from 2011 and the graphics are 300 times better on that! FM 2017 (and I gather on FM 19 they still haven’t bothered to improve their graphics either) is awful. When I first bought it I was sold a dummy with a non-working Steam code.

bad start 1. When I first started the one I bought next with a working Steam code it it took me 7 hours to get answers on how to set the pages so that they were readable on my computers. That was bad start 2.

Then when I finally got to play a “live action” version of football, a match, in the the game the graphics were like something from 1989. No shaders, flat low-texture planes. And the clincher? When I went to the Sports Interactive website to discuss these issues I was falsely accused of being abusive and ranting when I did neither.

I was insulted and publicly humiliated by a moderator! So not only is their game terrible but their support is actually out and out rude! The fact this game hasn’t improved its graphics in 15 years and has a monopoly on football manager games means nothing is going to change.

Hopefully someone will come up with a competitive product with a good database and proper graphics that represent 2018’s standards because right now this is a complacent product that caters to a small niche customer and that demographic will get narrower and narrower.

Wake up Sports Interactive!.

Excellent value. Played FM2010 for a good many years. Fancied a change so now getting used to better graphics etc. Just can’t find the crowd on FM2017,

As the title suggests, the game delves deeper into the realms of football management. Beware, incredibly addicting!

This sits just under a parsons desk in the same finish. It works beautifully. I was really impressed by the drawers, so smooth. There’s lots of space inside too. It’s wider than you might think. Be sure to measure.

The little cushion is a nice addition. Easily removed, but works as a seat quite nicely.

It’s a handsome piece. It’s an expensive piece. True, the measurements were listed but I had no idea it would sit six inches below the matching desk. Only the bottom drawer is deep enough for files. The frame that holds the files falls off every time I take a file out or put a file in.

If it isn’t one side, it’s both sides. The brackets that hold the bars for the frame are not deep enough which is why the slightest jarring and my files fall off into one big heap. I bought a real file cabinet which works fine, This R&B file cabinet is just a piece of furniture, an expensive one, that I haven’t room for.

Nice, simple piece, very quiet, will fit any decorative style. I have under glass covered parson’s desk, nice because doesn’t scream office desk since files are separate from table as opposed to attached, and I have desk in a multipurpose room.

Really love the deeper drawer than other pedestal offerings at R&B, which may, however, make more of a statement, because this one is very simple. I got in walnut and don’t like the finish, which is semi-opaque (perhaps not the best description), but to my eye minimizes the beauty of the wood.

No real point to choosing wood finish, other than if really need it for a color match with other items in room. Very balanced, at least when top and bottom drawers full, no tipping, possibly bc more weight in upper drawer which can accommodate more than pencil drawers in other models (I read this criticism for other R&B models).
