20 Best Fight Stick For Pc (2023 Updated)

As a newcomer to classic arcade games played on the PC with a fightstick, I read all the reviews that said cheap sticks were a waste of time, and to get real quality you had to spend hundreds of dollars.

Instead, I ultimately decided on the Mayflash F500 but I swapped out the stock pushbuttons for Seimitsu. I grew up on the mushy Happ switches of the old arcade cabinets, but Seimitsu buttons were a happy medium.

not tiring to push, but not as lightly triggered as the Sanwa. And definitely crisper than the stock Mayflash buttons. The Seimitsu were easy to swap into the Mayflash, using only a screwdriver to remove the back panel, and needle-nose pliers to help with pulling the cable connectors.

The joystick can also be swapped, so I may eventually replace it with a Seimitsu as well. The Mayflash works great with my Mac, using the shareware “USB Overdrive” utility (Google it). Recommended!.

This thing has settings coming out of its ying yang! For the most part it will work out of the box with all your PC games. There are 3 main controllers the F300 support via DIP switch, first is XINPUT, which is essentially an old school 10 button PC with rudder controls, second is XBOX controller mode, 4 buttons and extra 4 buttons that are your R/L shoulder buttons and triggers.

Thirdly is PS3 DINPUT, its actually the same as XBOX mode except the main 4 buttons are remapped from my understanding. Generally newer PC games use the XBOX baseline. But there are certain games that don’t support the analog joystick, only the D-PAD, but fortunately there is a DIP switch that you can either choose D-PAD or Analog Joystick, its a life saver, some fightsticks will not work with certain titles due to this technicality.

I’m quite impressed with the build quality, its very sturdy and well built. Its a little plain looking. If someone would sell skins for it, I would definitely buy one.

It should be able to be used without another Xbox controller. The joystick should click sooner in the travel range. The buttons should have more force required to press and a snappier, more satisfying press.

It should not render the controller as disconnected every time the Xbox controller is removed. At 60usd found on amazon I would say it’s a good value but for the 87 I paid, I feel it should’ve been a bit better.

The color scheme is also very boring and would’ve been better all black if they wanted a minimalist design. Navy is not a good color for gaming imo.

I got this controller half off and yes, for 37 and some change shipped it was a great deal, even with one faulty button. The deal is so good that it would just be a waste of time to ship it back for a better one.

I can’t help but feel like this is a result of dwindling quality control though, given the design and overall cheap feel to the Qanba Drone. Comparable would be the Qanba Q1 which I bought years ago for roughly the same price the Qanba Drone goes for normally.

The Q1 has a much better build quality, is easier to mod, and accepts mods easily unlike the Drone. The Drone has no plexi top, so you can’t customize the look in that regard. The stock stick from Qanba is worse in the Drone than it was the Q1.

It was also very disappointing that I couldn’t put my Seimitsu LS-32 in the Qanba Drone. It simply will never fit, meaning my choices for sticks is basically stock and only stock. So be wary of purchasing the Drone if you have a stick preference.

One faulty button was disappointing but not a deal breaker, as most fighting games either use 4 to 6 buttons. Ultimately I ended up buying Sanwa buttons and putting them in my Q1 and now I have a great PC stick and a mediocre PS4/PS3 stick.

Still, if you can get a good deal on the Drone, and you know what stick you want to use, it’s insanely cheap. Even if you don’t like the buttons, you’re 25 dollars away from an 8 set of Sanwas. Meaning if I had put them in the Drone instead, and my LS-32 stick fit, I’d have one ballin’ PS4 controller for about 85 bones.

Rant over. I’m mixed. The price I paid was stupidly cheap and can certainly recommend it at that price, but not at 70. It takes to buttons well, so for under 100 you can still get a good controller. I’d still say avoid at that price and look elsewhere.

PS: I’m aware the Carbon exists and is actually just the Q1, but it’s not a PS4 stick and when I bought the Q1 PS3 and 360 were still somewhat relevant, and given the price, I feel comparing the Q1 to the Carbon is fair.

The Qanba Obsidian is the best stick I’ve played on. It’s so sick, this stick. The joystick survives everything I’ve tried to abuse it with: 720s with Zangief, Mashing out chain grabs with King, Taking it with me everywhere I’m expecting to play fighting games, and more.

The parts are great, the stick hasn’t snapped off yet no matter what horrible input I put it through. The buttons are sensitive, you can press them with a light encouraging whisper; however, I’ve turned the buttons into a finger based round of DDR while playing Virtua Fighter.

It’s big enough to fit into anyone’s lap without that being compensation for anything else. The only qualms I could see someone having is that size, I understand some people like smaller sticks. In that case, find the same Sanwa parts and fit them into something that fits you like a glove (I’ll be fine with this beast in the meantime).

Overall, it’s a great joystick for enthusiast fighting game players, or for anyone really. Just play with it, you’ll be ready for EVO in no time.

I CAN GAME AGAIN!!! Not even going to mince words, I haven’t gamed since Super Nintendo. Thanks to some issues with my hands I can’t work the newer controllers with the dual joystick type. So this has made it so I can game.

Only reason I’m giving it a 4 star, is because the games I play don’t have a way to change some of the settings so I can access certain screens (like inventories) without the middle touch area, which makes things far more difficult.

But this product is very nice otherwise.

Well build and very nice looking, I don’t think there is an equivalent for the same price with such amazing looks and quality. Buttons and stick are replaceable if you are into modding or future maintenance but in any case this is build like a tank! Super solid.

Its compact enough to be left by the telly without taking much space but with a bit of weight so its confort to play in your lap. It’s an awesome product if you like arcade games!.

This is a good stick to start out and learn on. It’s a bit cramped but other then that it is high quality and has many features that sticks twice the price don’t have. The buttons and lever can be upgraded and you can even get some thing to turn this into a mixbox type unit if you want to get really into it.

Great Stick, it works like a charm. You can change the buttons and stick if you desire; stock ones are ok and the throw of the joystick is a bit long. The unit is heavier than I expected and is just the right size for my desk.

Overall I am very happy with it.

This is a fine stick for the price. If you’re just learning how to ply with a stick, it *mostly* does it’s job, until you’re ready to upgrade to a better stick that you’re willing to pay full price for.

The stick itself is “clicky”. But the buttons aren’t exactly “springy” and feel a bit off. Despite being just a bit small, it’s of high enough quality to be deemed usable at the very least. Great for first time Stick users, unless you’re a Tekken player, which i’ll get into.

It’s important to note that this stick does not have a Touchpad button. You can switch to legacy mode (PS3), which in usual circumstances allows you to use the Share button as a Select button, if you wanna use functions like Restart in practice modes and whatever.

For whatever reason though, Tekken does not support this stick in Legacy Mode. Where in a game like Tekken 7, the Select or Touchpad button is essential in practice mode when it comes to recording opponent moves, restarting the stage, etc.

These features just do not exist without the touchpad button, or legacy mode support. Meaning you can’t practice properly with this stick if you’re a Tekken player, and the stick probably isn’t worth the cheaper price.

Maybe spend a bit more and get yourself a Mayflash F300 or something along that price range. I’ll keep using this stick just until I feel comfortable with handling one as comfortably as I can with a pad.

In which case i’ll HAVE to upgrade to a better one. Because not being able to use practice mode while trying to improve my chops with a stick is just too big of an inconvenience.

Firstly 5* for Smyrna toys, super fast shipping and good comms. Sadly the stick is a meh. It’s not terrible, the buttons are typically good for a Hori device but the issue is with the stick. There’s too much stick travel, it’s the slackest gate I’ve seen.

As a Zangief / Darun main entering the 2×360 super is like polishing a giant window. Also as other people have commented, the cable storage solution is stupid, you’re forced to expose the fragile thin internal wiring every time you want to stow it away properly.

It’s not a terrible stick, but it’s just not great either. Miles away from my Hori Grail the Fighting Edge model 1.

A good beginner-level stick, which is a very inexpensive and has nice build and quality of materials. Buttons are ok. Square gate isn’t very comfortable to use, but that’s a personal preference I guess.

I liked it, but if you’re really interested in fighting games it’s probably better to just save money and buy more “serious” stick.

All buttons and sticks are easily programmable and they immediately update in real time, no restart needed (must first install the stick’s driver and software). 12 buttons, two joysticks and a switch tab.

The base platform is wide and heavy enough to keep it firmly planted on a flat surface so the entire device does not tip over when doing aggressive moves with the stick. Product weight says 2 pounds, but to me it feels more like 4 to 6 pounds.

Moving the stick feels firm, which is good so you don’t over shoot your movements and frantically move back to align. The plastic material feels solid as steel. USB cable is long enough, about 6ft. Can’t beat the price! The corner holes make it easy to set on a DIY side table if you build your own gaming seat simulator, you can use the holes as channel locks or run straps through them.

I honestly can’t think of any cons with this thing. It’s perfect.

I looked everywhere for this stick at MSRP. Finally found it at Micro Center, whom seem to be the only ones out there not willing to sell multiple things to a bot. 1 per house hold. Thank you Micro Center! Anyhow, I use this in a dual stick setup for my games, like Elite: Dangerous.

The stick has an unbelievable amount of buttons for the price, and most games allow you to use them as macros (I think that’s the correct term) so if you press and hold button 1, for example, and then press button 2, it could be assigned to an entirely different action.

This makes your usage increase beyond the simple 12 button scheme. The stick itself moves smoothly and without resistance. Compared to my older Logitech Attack 3, this thing is leagues ahead of it. The build quality is superior, though there is an uncomfortable plastic seam on the handle, but you get a much needed change in the palm rest at the base of the stick, a curved button for your thumb, a HAT joystick and an easy to reach “dial”, which can be used for thrust.

The software you can download for it is a must have. Seriously. I couldn’t even get it to work in games without it, despite the sticks appear. Within the software, you can adjust all sorts of things for the sticks to fine tune it further.

Overall, I am quite pleased by the product and would completely recommend it, especially if you have a tight budget!.

I got this to use for Elite Dangerous. It was on sale and at the time of my purchase $20. I been using it for several weeks already, it feels good in the hand, the buttons and the directional input at the top feels fine, nothing feels like it’s going to suddenly break on it, I’ve had some intense events happen in the game and I was yanking on it hard during that.

If a game doesn’t pick it up then you’ll have to download their software and then you can map everything on it. I’d say this is a pretty good entry level joystick to get, the price is pretty good. The one thing that would make this better is some way to add weights to it as it is pretty light, the base of it does have a rubberized pad at each corner, but in my experience thus far, if all 4 aren’t making contact with the surface it can start to tip over.

light, flimsy, short cord, lag between button press and action, lag between movement on joystick and action. if i could give it a 0 out of 5 stars i would. i couldnt even play simple games like pac man and dig dug with it.

after trying it for 15 minutes i knew i had to send it back. A little about me; Arcade and Console gamer since 1979, i worked at nintendo of america, and electronics boutique extra. I own over 20 different joysticks.

Hori is pretty much hit and miss throughout thier history.

The Hori Switch arcade stick is great value for the money. The stick is notchy and registers well for MK11. The buttons aren’t top grade but they work fine without delay. An added bonus is that this stick works with the mini consoles through USB.

Not sure if this is due to having RetroArch installed, but it definitely works with modded mini consoles. This isn’t a sanwa quality stick but a great budget accessory for your Switch.

My partner has collected a lot of retro and indie fighting games for his switch. With this fighting stick he can play them all as if he was back in the arcade during his youth. Its smooth and easy to use.

I like to play videogames with old style joysticks. Also, I have trust in the Hori brand – I have my other consoles with either Hori or ASCII joysticks -, so that narrowed my search. I saw many complaints about the size of this joystick, however I don’t see it as a bad thing.

It’s small as a NES Advantage. That makes it easy to store. Another good thing is that this joystick is compatible with both Playstation 3 and 4. My gripes about this item, however, are: – Joystick “throw”: You have to move it far from the center, and I prefer quicker response.

– Lack of turbo switch: This is the only Hori joystick I have without turbo. – Compatibility: The joystick is recognized only as the equivalent of the D-Pad, not the analog thumbs. This is fine when using your old PlayStation 1 games on your PS3, but will be an issue with more modern titles.

for 40 dollars. this is the best stick u can get. the parts are good enough to learn and play with. the pc compatibility is a real plus that helps get even more use out of it. after about a month of play the buttons do seems a little less clicky and more squishy but by a very small amount.

very easy to open but not very mod friendly by those who dont have much skill using tools and/or knowledge of electronics. i personally opened it and added weights to inside of the case to add more weight.

much more comfortable that way. it feels good playing on the table. its not too small to hinder play. but is kind of uncomfortable to play on lap. its too light and too small for me to comfortably play on my lap.

again. if your not snobby or a stickler, for 40 dollars, the quality is great. in the past i have seen more expensive options for much less quality. im very happy to be able to use an arcade stick for fighting games now while i save for a high quality product.

which is going to take me along time. pros. cheap price decent parts which are more than doing the job. switch for ps4, ps3, and pc compatability great first choice of stick if looking for an entry product.

cons. quality is cheap when compared to more expensive top quality sticks. (ie. madcatz TE edition sticks) not easily modded not by a long shot (but definitly possible with effort) has a square 4way gate.

(opinion) turns out i cant stand 4 way gates. ive gotten better with them but its still a bit frustrating. ive seen online its possible to insert an 8 way sanwa gate but the gate itself needs minor modding.

u can search online google or youtube for instructions over all im glad to have gotten this stick. i didnt spend much, it works just fine to play, and this will make a great 2nd player stick for me when i get a high quality stick in the future.

I was a bit afraid this fightstick would be small for my use, since i have big hands. It fits perfectly fine! I can use all the buttons and the joystick just fine, everything works as it should and it is very responsive.

Tried it out with Dragon Ball FighterZ and my experience was amazing! Highly recommend if you want to get into fighting games, it is a very responsive fightstick and it works like a charm, very durable, buttons are super responsive and great joystick handling.

Try this out first, if you get the hang of using an arcade stick, then get a pro one. That’s my plan!.

I will start off by saying I havent used and type of Quanba sticks, only Hori ones with the RAP VX and the Hayabusa and madcatz sticks like the SFxT Line SE for PS3 to go off of. This is a square gate stick with the average 8 buttons, 4 face, 2 bumper and 2 shoulder buttons all mapped to an arched american style acade stick layout.

Buttons are spaced very well, enough room to rest my fingers in while I play Tekken so I am ready to throw out and safe pokes or zone out some people with Lee in T7. The buttons also feel incredibly well made with sand parts and are not as loud as the usual buttons that I am used to.

You could buy some silent buttons so your opponent cant hear what you are pressing, but unless you go to tournies or you aggressively smash the buttons, it shouldn’t be too bad. The stick is very responsive, no dead zones whatsoever, and the corners are easy to feel out and will be very easy to remember if you have never used a square gate, let alone a fightstick before.

It clicks when one of 8 directions is fully pressed so you can get an audio que of the perfect EWGF or Wavedash in Tekken, the satisfaction of hitting a QCF x2 in SFV, or hitting a hard otg combo in UNIST.

The artwork itself is great and I being a long time soulcalibur fan found it to be quite great. Additionally, this stick is also $20 to $30 less than a normal quanba and if you do not like the art you can buy a faceplate for it for an additional $20 to $30, so there isnt too much of a reason not to go for this one.

If you are a beginner and not sure if this is the stick you want, I say look up some more reviews and see for yourself. A lot of players use the obsidian brand of fight sticks because they are very reliable.

In addition to things like a turbo button, L. E. D. light button, and a pause lock feature, the stick also comes with the ability to be used on the PS3 as well as have touch pad functionality to be used with many PS4 fighting games.

One of the few negative things about the stick however is that sometimes if the stick is abruptly pulled out of the PS4, the wiring may cease to work and therefore might need a replacement. But as long as you don’t pop off after a win or get super salty and pull out your stick, it should be fine.

For beginner stick, I believe this is one of the better ones to have as its price range, while a little high, I sure some good quality and a lot of the pros end up using the obsidian style Brands as well.

I may sound like I am repeating myself, but there is not too many negative things to say, other than maybe a high price of $200. If youcan find this on sale, which it goes every so often, for about $100, even $149, it’s well worth the time and investment if you make it worth it.

Fight sticks arent used to day your are better than anybody else, they are made for people who prefer a layout similar to the arcades. It helps my hands, because I dont like to have to claw-grip my PS4 controller when playing a 6 button fighter, and a fightpad just doesnt work for me.

But, definitely do more research on this if you dont feel comfortable, but I have to say it is a great stick to own and use!.

This is the best fightstick Ive ever laid my eyes and hands on! First off, the delivery was FAST. Second, the stick is in pristine condition. The only qualms that I have about this thing is that the inside plastic covering for the internals is missing (I never plan on using the inside compartment much anyway), and the promised original Sanwa Denshi JLF lever was missing, but I have more myself.

I grew up in the days of the Atari 2600 and played all of these games as a kid. These are Exact reproductions of those games and in my opinion, play even better because of the Quality Controls that are used on this Fight Stick.

This thing is a beast and you can easily feel the weight and quality of the unit. No need to worry about breaking a joystick because you are really getting into the game. These are much better than the originals that came with the 2600.

I Highly recommend getting the unit with the Trackball to have an accurate gaming experience with games such as Centipede, Millipede, Missile Command and more. This is a MUST for any Atari Enthusiast.

The only con and this is a minor one is when you are trying to Update the Image on the Raspberry Pi. It is a little difficult figuring out what buttons do what to move around the menu system setting up wifi, proceeding to download the image and etc.

Other than that, It’s an AWESOME unit!.

A great product for bringing the arcade experience home. Much lower cost than if you were to build it yourself. The case is very solidly built with a nice finish on it. The fact that it opens up on nice smooth hydraulics is great.

Very easy to get inside to mod it if you would like. I added a button-hole spinner in just a few minutes. My only complaints are the trackball feels like it needs a little lubrication and you need to go into your individual game settings and turn the sensitivity way up to get it to feel right.

I’m sure there are more expensive buttons from other manufacturers that have a more satisfying click to them, but these are still good. No complaints about how the joystick feels. I have no regrets about my purchase.

If you want real arcade controls to go with your emulated arcade games, this is the ticket. Well constructed, quality controls, and space inside for cables / raspberry etc. Just be warned. this thing is BIG.

Full arcade cabinet size. I wish it was a little smaller to use on my desk. Pops open like a hatchback and easy access to the inside and all the wiring. You can easily change out/modify the sticks or buttons.

Has a key lock to keep it closed, handy when moving it. You will need to spend time to configure the stick and the buttons to your preferred game device or windows. Has 2 USB outputs, 1 for sticks/buttons and the other for the trackball (which windows detects as a mouse for some reason).

It’s awesome but it’s big. If you’re ready for that, grab one! Cheaper and easier than building your own for sure!.

Can’t beat it for the price!!! If you’re willing to mod it (it just takes a screwdriver), adding a 2lb spring for the joystick and the hayabusa octagonal gate (2016 model) just bring it to the next level.

Those parts cost 5 bucks total. Do it!.

All the reviews and the research did I did on this arcade joystick and I was really looking forward to having it but when I got it it did not work on either one of my system I was really upset because I was looking for a reliable arcade joystick and this one was supposed to be the top dog not happy about it.

Stick arrived on time. Brand new, no issues. Works perfectly.

I’ve seen sooooo many bad reviews and low ratings for this arcade stick. Fact is, it does the job and is incredible to play on. Buttons are VERY responsive, and joystick is as well. Unless you are planning to become a pro (let’s face it, you’re not a PRO), and want to spend big dollars on a top tier arcade stick, then go right ahead.

But if you are looking for a low budget fight stick that does the job very, very well then I suggest getting this one. Especially if you are looking for a joystick just to casually play a few fighting genre games.

HORI for the win with this Mini Arcade stick!.

Overall, 9/10 on design regarding its functionality as a joystick. Its biggest winner being the two mini sticks that are very ergonomically placed on the stick and throttle. 2/10 on durability; you should plan on some sort of issue arising withing the first month.

1) If I could give it five stars I would alas I cannot. 2 )First set the throttle lost all of is tension and wouldn’t stay up on its own in 2 weeks. Shortly thereafter the Yaw spring in the stick snapped.

3) second set the throttle just kinda. came off. after a week and a half. Afterwards I hooked up the stick to see its movement on TARGET and it was like ping pong. That being said. The design itself is outstanding and allows virtually unlimited possibility.

Put the throttle on the c stick on the throttle for all I care I’m not your dad. Enjoy!.

Recently picked these up with several friends, 5 of us total and a lot of star citizen hours. Overall it’s a decent unit. joystick tension is about average, enough to provide feedback, not too little that it feels like something you’d find in an arcade.

They sit on my desk pad and surprisingly stay stable. They come with suction cups for just a flat desk. Triggers are okay, buttons supply decent feedback. Really it’s a great starter set or for someone casually playing a flyer of some kind.

A solid Toyota Corolla/10 This was my one month review between friends, we’re all of the same mindset. Looking at upgrading probably within a year but got these to see if it’s something we’d care about.

Solid investment, especially since they were on sale for 100$.

I owned this many years back when it used to be SAITEK. I used it mostly to play Il2 Sturmovik 1946. The stick is loose, poorly made, and the spring tension is far too low. The axis curves cause rise suddenly, and it makes it very hard to have any precision when the stick is pulled to its extremities.

This is inherent to the stick, and cannot be changes with software. It makes it hard to use for WW2 dog-fighting. I also broke after a few months. I ended up swapping it out for the CYBORG Evo by SAITEK (It was a GOAT stick).

The throttle on the other hand was brilliant. Solid, programmable, precise. Trim, prop pitch, mixture etc was made breeze by the wheel slider. The extra programmable buttons made it a true ‘Hands On Throttle and Stick’ experience.

The ability to control the mouse pointer with a programmable blue knub by the thumb was excellent for games with mouse look, and made tracking targets easier with the absence of TRAK I/R hardware. Paired with another stick, it made an excellent throttle.

Adjustable resistance was the cherry on top. Logitech should consider selling the throttle separate.

While I do like to play fighting games a lot, I’ve spent my whole night using this on different games and it’s absolutely fantastic for anything that doesn’t require camera/analogue movement. NES games, indie games, and platformers all work great with this fightstick.

The only downside is a lack of info about how to use it, although that may be just because it slipped out of the box or something. The minus button is a little hard to reach and it’s easy to input buttons by just resting fingers on them due to the silent buttons, but it has been a blast to use with almost everything I threw at it If you can afford it, go with this controller.

A bit expensive but very satisfying to use

The controller is good not an 80s original but pretty close. Back then things were high quality and made with pride. Unlike the product of today. Its a much better option for the c64 maxi and mini.

Great joystick to revive the commodore 64 memories on the PC, love it. Good quality, no issues.

Money spent and cannot use it. Silly that nowadays with all the technology and this thing cannot be calabrated with Steam games. Wish it said so in the description.

Ahh the trusty old X52 HOTAS. This thing is literally old enough to vote, as it was originally released by Saitek almost 20 years ago. Now under the Logitech brand, the design kind of stands the test of time.

Ergonomically, the X52 / X52 Pro have always been home runs. The only slight knock I can think of would be if your hands are below average size for an adult male. Tons of buttons logically placed on both devices.

Once you get into a groove and configure the dozens of available button and mode combinations, it’s an incredibly flexible HOTAS platform for the price. All that said, it’s almost 20 years old and the inherent design flaws present since day one have not been improved.

The software always has been garbage, but you generally don’t need it anyways. The primary problem is with the centering / spring / shaft design on the flight stick. Do a web search for “X52 sticking” and you’ll see what I mean.

This problem even got it’s own word invented to describe the issue: “sticktion”, a combination of “sticking” and “friction”. If not right out of the box on day one, it will eventually develop a sticking / friction point in certain directions.

The inner spring / shaft / centering plate will develop friction and make precise, small movements almost impossible in a certain direction. Manually lubricating things can help, but it’s an Achilles Heel that’s been around since this thing released.

Generally speaking, this isn’t as big of a deal in space sims like X-Wing or Elite, where you are typically making big, swooping maneuvers in a dogfight. But it can be a death sentence when you are trying to maintain your glide slope during a carrier landing in an F-18.

I originally bought my current X52 Pro to replace an ancient X52 non-Pro that I bought probably 12-14 years ago. A few of the buttons didn’t work and one of the sliders constantly twitched. I probably could have taken it apart and fixed / cleaned everything.

but it was essentially spent and had served me well. My original idea with this new X52 Pro was to only use it for X-Wing and ED, but now that I’ve gotten back into MSFS2020 and DCS, the flaws of the flight stick are almost impossible to ignore.

I might keep using the throttle unit, but I am in the process of researching a replacement flight stick. So in conclusion, I’d give it 4/5 stars for space sim use, 2/5 stars for flight sim use and 3/5 average.

While I think it’s slightly overpriced at full MSRP, it’s still a very respectable choice if you play ED / X-Wing / SC. If you are primarily a flight sim person, you should probably spend a little more and look elsewhere.

A few months ago my friend got me into Elite Dangerous, a space exploration game. At first I just used a regular controller which was alright. But once I got hooked into the game, I decided to upgrade to a hotas.

I ended up getting the x52 pro and after a month or so (at least feels like that long) I have had no major complaints about it. The controller is super comfortable and accurate which is important for long sessions of flying around.

There is a plethora of extra buttons that seem useless at first, but become very useful for custom button mapping and making plenty of hotkeys. The only complaint I have is that the I haven’t been able to get the “i” button to work for my engine booster.

But, I admittedly haven’t looked into it that much and just remapped the booster to a different button. So really, my only issue is likely just user error. Are there cheaper options for a hotas, absolutely.

But believe me, the extra comfort and customization that comes with the x52 pro is definitely worth it.

I bought this Mad Catz TES+ Plus tournament Edition arcade fight stick Mad Catz Street Fighter V for my brother for Christmas. I was extremely pleased with this product when my brother tried it out on Christmas Day and he was very happy with it.

The product is so versatile with the amount of PlayStation 4 fighting games that it works with that had my brother very excited to use it. I will definitely look for more products like this in the future on eBay as they are very well made sturdy products.

It’s a shame that Mad Catz isn’t around anymore, they made a great quality stick. The design is really sleek and well-made overall. Very happy that I managed to get one before they’re all snatched up.

Use it for SFV online. Why mess around with gimmicky wannabes. This is a real, weighted and heavy duty fight stick.

A superb stick purchased with the Warthog throttles to fly F18, F16 and Warthog in DCS world. It is a very heavy unit and has a silky smooth movement with quite a lot of resistance. Because it uses magnets to return to centre you are stuck with the resistance since their are no springs to change! Also note that this stick does not have a twist rudder feature.

If I want a rudder I’ll have to fork out for pedals. BUT modern military aircraft tend not to need rudder input for normal flight manouevres and I have allocated a HAT switch on the throttles for basic rudder during take off etc.

All switches and hats appear to be strongly built but only time will tell with these regarding reliability. I paid well over the odds for the seperate stick and throttles since I was unable to find the two bundled together without a 6 week wait.

Two days after they arrived the UK thrustmaster site was offering the bundle again! Having said that they are still just about worth the extra providing they prove as robust as they look and feel. As a bundle for £400 I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend! A friend has just got the Logitec x56 pair for £215 and after 2 weeks a hat switch is failing and the rudder twist judders so – apparently £215 isn’t enough to buy you reliability! Hopefully £400 – £500 is.

The Thrustmaster Warthog flight stick is a solidly made stick, nearly all metal – even the 2 stage trigger. Every button has a different tactile feel and feels absolutely premium. The stick can detatch from the base – allowing for an alternate stick to be used.

Overall weight is very heavy – there’s very little chance this is moving about while in use – even when not bolted down, which is an option. TARGET software didn’t play too well with my T16000m and Warthog HOSAS combo – so using JoyToKey instead.

Accuracy is great and the stick is solid enough to sit firmly centred with zero wobble so only a tiny deadzone is required depending on how steady handed you are. Downsides: No twist or analog thumbstick – you may need either rudder pedals or a second stick / throttle with analog twist, stick or paddles.

This joystick is built like a Mack Truck and should hold up. However, the software used to make it work is dated and not as intuitive as it could be. Hell, for the cost it should just automatically hook up.

Another issue I don’t like is the stick has an ever so slight twist to it. It’s NOT a twist stick (for rudder control) but it does twist somewhat which is irritating for the amount spent on this controller.
