20 Best Fiberglass Cleaner For Boats (2023 Updated)

Used the product as directed on a black gelgoat hull with one year of oxidation. Didn’t remove it all after two passes. Used both microfiber cloths and orbital buffer. Went back to my McGuires one step which removed the oxidation.

Can see it might appear to work on a white hull.

The overall wax is fantastic, but had to perfect the technique. Buffing by hand…horrible. Buffing with polisher…perfection!! Great product. Goes a long way.

I always pair this with the fleetwax. Perps the surface for an outstanding outcome. I typically apply by hand but have used mororized buffers too. Quick on then buff off and you are good for the fleetwax.

After washing and claying surface of boat with synthetic clay. Compounded boat hull. Then used collinite fiberglass cleaner with a DA and foam polishing pad. Worked on speed 3. Ran 3 quick passes. Achieved slick feeling finish and glossy look.

Only con was cleaner is watery thin and bottle only comes with screw on cap. Suggest put what you are going to use in a squirt bottle to better control amount applied to pad. Very easy to apply too much product.

Otherwise excellent product that leaves a finish ready for wax/sealant!.

I had heavy tannin stains on my fiberglass deck boat that a high end pressure washer could not even make a difference on. Spent over a hour hand cleaning with a soft scrub type of product. Got about 85-90% of the stains off just 20% of the boat and thought that there had to be a better way.

I was very skeptical when I read the product instructions. Spray on and rinse off after two minutes. I was prepared to be disappointed. Instead, I was truly stunned and amazed. Sprayed the product on a test area, then walked around the garage to get the hose.

In that short of a time, the tannin stains had just 100% disappeared. I couldnt believe it. Tried another section and got the same amazing results. Finished the whole boat, including the hard to get to areas in less than 15 minutes and used only about a quart of product.

I was giddy! No doubt about continued use of this product in the future!.

Purchased this to clean yellowing on hull of boat. I don’t keep it in the water just do some overnights and by the end of the year it’s not terrible but significantly stained. I wanted On/Off but the store was out, they said this isn’t quit as strong.

Used a sprayer like I usually do and it ate right through it in minutes , for me it worked awesome. No need to scrub, 100% of yellowing came right off. Best part is this does not give off toxic fumes anywhere near as much as the other brand.

I’ll be buying this for now on.

This stuff is amazing. Leaf and tree sap markings that stain the inside of my boat disappear. I could scrub with any kind of soap and get nothing. I use a cup of this with a sponge for application and you cannot believe what happens.

It’s hands down the best cleaner for your boat out there.

Removes Oxidation from fiberglass on older boats left outside and leaves a really good waxed shine in one step. Cleans and protects newer boats. I own both! does not require a pro style angle buffer to apply or remove so you do not have to be concerned about fiberglass or surface burn as a result of leaving the buffer in one spot too long.

I know because I’ve experienced both. Hand application and removal is sufficient for good results. sever oxidation may require a second application dependent upon the severity of the oxidation. The shine lasts a fairly long time.

I usually follow up after a month with a Teflon polish to get a longer life out of the gloss. Apply in small sections overlapping the subsequent section for best results i have found eliminates missed areas.

It’s alittle pricey but I have found to be the best, most long lasting product I have used for over 20 years. I’d rather run the boat than clean and wax it. so twice a year I spend a weekend before and after the season and do both, my 22ft center console and my 36 Express.

I like to fish! Wife likes to cruise. Both of us like a good looking boat. It’s a great product.

I’ve tried a lot of “other” waxes and polished for my old 1990 Regal 265 Commodore – BUT this was the best one! I will not go back to the others. This is a great product. Try it for yourself. Easy to put on and take off.

I used my hand to put the wax/polish on, then buffed it off with a 10 inch buffer. Removed those black streak lines from the railings, and many other spots from environmental causes. Great shine! Took the old fiberglass and made it look like new.

Probably use a heavy polisher as I did, to remove oxidation from 36 year old boat. Removes years of oxidation with relative ease, although holding the heavy polisher will build arm muscle. Can even apply by hand and does a similar job but big jobs benefit from a powered polisher like the Dewalt.

Looks polished after application but best to wax with one of the Meguiars other products. Used one and a half small 16 oz tubes for a 26 foot lobster boat so goes a long way.

Not sure this is important, or just that I am old! 🤭! When I opened my purchase, I did not realize that it was like a liquid, it spilled on my new sweater and ruined it. I guess I thought it was a paste like product, that was not going to spill on me!! Do not know if you need to know this, but thought I would let you know.

I watched Louis’ video, which was quite compelling. One of my sailboats has chronic fouling at the overhang, which is a tough location to maintain. That would be the test. Well to say it passed would be an understatement.

We use this on our white -hulled rowing shells, which get brown stained. The brown stain dissappears in less than a minute!

I purchased the concentrate and think its one of the best on the market. I’ve used it to clean my EZ2CY enclosure while washing the boat after the winter. I did a fantastic job and also used it to clean some spots on the carpet.

Love the product and will continue to make up spray bottles for home and boat. The best all around cleaner I’ve used and this is from a guy who has been boating for over 50+ years. Keep it up.

When I bought the boat, there was a large decal on the gelcoat. After removing the decal, I noticed how shiny the gelcoat was under it. I used the oxidation remover on the areas next to the clean area.

It made the gelcoat look better. I applied the High Gloss polish next and it got a good shine to it. Then I applied the Pure Wax. What a difference. I looks better than the area under the decal. Can’t wait to finish the rest of the boat.

This is an excellent product. I purchased a used 2009 Attitude 33 ft Toy Hauler trailer in Feb. 2015. The previous owner washed and waxed it a few times a year so the fiberglass was in good condition.

I used a RV wax I purchased at Camping World and waxed the trailer last month. It didn’t clean or polish well. I read the reviews on home essentials direct that were posted for the 3 step process: Meguiar’s M4965 Marine/RV Fiberglass Restoration System.

I was very happy with the results. The first step removed the small amount of oxidation and the previous wax that was present. As described in the reviews, step 2 (polish) and step 3 (wax) brought back the bright white shiny look.

I purchased the “Meguiar’s MT300 Pro Power DA Polisher” from home essentials direct, which makes the job go faster and provides the best results. You will still need to do some small hand waxing around the edges.

I also used the wax (step 3) on all my decals/stickers on the trailer, which will protect them from fading. Apply it by using Meguiar’s W0004 Foam Applicator Pad 4-1/2″. I have included a picture. The cloudy day doesn’t represent the best results.

My five year old 5th wheel is exposed to the sun on its southern side, all year long. The fiber glass skin was showing signs of oxidation and fading. I tried using some RV wax and a power buffer. I spent hours trying to get the original shine back.

But, wax just doesn’t cut through oxidation. I searched the internet for a good product and purchased Meguiar’s M4965 Marine/RV Fiberglass Restoration System, Kit. The 3 step process is working for me.

It does take time to polish a 35 foot trailer. But, the oxidation remover definitely works. You might have to apply it several times, depending on the oxidation level. The polish and wax seem to be high quality too.

Its best to avoid direct sunlight on the surface, when using this product. So, I’m hoping for a few cooler days to finish up this polishing project 🙂 I would purchase Meguiar’s M4965 kit again, as needed.

Product works ok. Cleaning, cleaning not all spots came off of floor and panels. Started to use Meguiars Flagship Premium Marine Wax to Wax boat. Figured I would try this to clean and clean it did. Got out tuff spots, where cleaner didn’t.

Again, cleaner isn’t bad, but I will use Wax from now on for tuff spots.

My first impressions were negative seeing as you shouldnt apply this in the sun, That is kind of difficult with a boat that sits in the water. After using it a few times my boat is noticeably cleaner than it has ever been this late in the season.

Easily sprays on and wipes off. For the first time in years I have no mildew in my boat!!.

While completing a 144 room hotel, several showers were found with rust stains, purple pipe glue and fire caulk stains requiring replacement of the showers, if the stains could not be removed. My back steps on my home are fiberglass. They were covered in black, yet I knew they were originally light gray. I thought I would try this product and am amazed. It took several coats and I used a stiff brush, but now the steps look new and actually sparkle.

This product is fantastic. There are a lot of tannins in the water where I operate, leaving brown stains on the hull. Spray this on, wait 1 min, hose off and the stains are gone. Need gal buckets of this! Highly recommend.

This wax is for gelcoat. It works much better than car wax. I put this wax on a 25 year old bass boat that had lost most to the gloss on the upper side. The boat came out great. Its not like a new boat but what a difference it made.

This is the first coat. I did wax the boat and buffed the wax off but I had tried this many time with normal car wax. It just wouldnt stay shiny very long. This Seans to be lasting longer. I bought this bottle that is 32oz compared to other boat waxs that where only 16oz for the same price.

Own a 2020 Forrest River TT dealer recommended waxing twice a year to keep paint looking like new. The reviews on this product did not disappoint. Easy to apply and wipe off. I waxed my entire 31’ trailer in about 6 hours.

Looks better then the day I bought it. We’ll see how it holds up 6 months from now. BTW my trailer has aluminum siding and doors are fiberglass so it’s safe When the sun hits it I can’t even look at it because it’s like looking at a mirror.

The product works really well. The bottle always cracks at the corners so when you squeeze it out, it comes out everywhere making a mess. Plus the wax will dry out due to the cracks causing it to be unusable.

This is a great way to lose money as this product is not cheap.

I got it yesterday and decided that was the spark needed to clean the old boat. This plus the mildew remover absolutely made the boat shine like it did a couple years ago. I have no idea what is in it, but it works.

To think one bottle of cleaner and one bottle of mildew remover was all it took is unbelievable. My advice is to let it sit for several minutes because it seems to break down the grime as it rests. Now I have a messy driveway to clean, but the boat is going in the water today for its maiden voyage of 2019!.

I have never used this brand deck cleaner before, but I’m sold on this stuff now. I followed the directions carefully. Since it’s chemical based and new to me, I wanted to be careful. I was impressed! There was one section that t needed to scrub extra hard, but it came out great.

It finished product had a really nice shine and it non-slip. Two thumbs up for Better Boat!!.

I have a 20 year old boat and rarely wash it when I do I just pressure wash it. It was looking pretty bad and I didn’t think that it was going to come clean unless I used a buffer with compound. But, wow! I sprayed this on and it started coming clean on its own.

Then I rubbed it down with a brush and washed it off, it looks so good now! I’ll probably never use another brand I’m so satisfied with this.

I give this 7/10 This product did help but took 3 coats to do it. 1st coat took off about 30% 2nd coat took off about 70% 3rd coat took off rest. 1st & 2nd coat was done with brush and hose. 3rd coat had to be done with scrubbing pad & medium brush My boat just had river slime build up.

Used on a painted aluminum hull. No issues applying and removing. It seems a little pricey but if it makes clean up in the fall easier it’ll be well worth it!

This product is best for vessels that are not highly oxydized. Works well for lightly chalked glass cleans well shines well and easy to work with.

Easy to work in, and shines the camper well. Leaves nice gloss, but not for taking out spots, streaks, etc.

I have tried most other products and this is definitely number one!!! by far; and the cheapest pricing of all of them!! (simply the best)
