I didn’t realize the blk/white was black and charcoal on the other side, nice to have that option. I’ve seen other guards include sturdy or specialty zip ties for this price, but I will use what I have and I’m sure it will be fine.

Hello, I enjoy Fox Racing products, but I was disappointed that the mtb mud guard front fender did not come with attachment straps. A Mucky Nutz mud guard that I bought previously did come with the straps.

Very happy with these. Strong and effective for my fatbike in Canadian winters. Had 3 sets of flimsy Bontrager ones with a pretty significant design flaw, they crack in cold temperatures from light contact! These are far more sturdy and easy to put on/take off.

I purchased 2 of these locks one for each of my young children for their daily commute to school. The lock is light, the mechanism works smoothly, and the rubber coated cable is friendly to your bikes finish.

They worked well for one school year, but unfortunately half way though their second season, someone snipped the lock made off with one of our bikes. This was in broad daylight, in a quiet but not deserted neighborhood.

After looking at the clean cut through the cable, I’m thinking it took all of 5 seconds to snip it and ride off into the sunset. This would work well for locking a wheel to a frame along with something more solid securing your frame to a rack, but as a stand alone device it falls way short of the mark.

Do yourself a favour and go with something a little more robust.

We live and ride on a dirt road in Vermont. In the spring we have what we lovingly call mud season. After getting tired of being totally covered in mud after fat bike rides we bought two pairs of the Fatboards.

5 minutes later, with the Fatboards installed, we were able to ride mud free – well, almost mud free. Huge improvement. The Velcro makes for an easy install, the Fatboards are light and don’t interfere on either the Fuze or Ruze.

Well worth the money in saved laundry!.

I love these Fox mud guards! I ran one on my Fox 36 all winter and it did such a great job keeping mud, snow, and dirt from getting all over the place. Got this one for the Fox 40 on my DH bike for park season and it’s been perfect.

Super easy to install after watching the Fox installation video and then it’s rock solid and doesn’t budge. The one on my 36 and this one on my 40 have been all over the place to bike parks, long road trips with the bikes hanging from vertical racks, tons of shuttle truck days, etc and they’re still going strong.

If you’re thinking about it, just buy it, you’ll be thrilled with this fender!.

Nice sturdy fit. I like that it’s extra wide at the rear. Would be nice if the front portion was a little longer. It seems a little bit strange that Fox decided to overload the bleeders and make that the attachment point for the guard but it does provide extra protection for the stanchions.

It’s funny they call this “XL” because the smallest guards from RRP and Mudhugger are longer. Still this is a good size for summer time especially if you run sticky tires.

Definitely best mudguard ever. Fits extremely perfect. Very tough, not damaging/folding when putting bike into car. Very easy to clean after dirty rides. Thanks to mounting bolts does not damage decals of fork.

Not shaking/moving not making any noise. There is no better mudguard.

Perfect for my Dahon Mu folding bike. Extra clamp for 35mm seat post. Make sure there is a hole through top of front forks. for bolt. This wasn’t long enough for my bike but easily obtained on e-bay with plastic spacers so bracket doesn;t have to be bent to fit around steering tube.

Satisfied with the product. The extensions allow the protection of the suspension system in front of the backwheel. Is easy to install and remove. One downside ist that the end “flaps” on the tire when you have the extension for 29″ wheels on and you make jumps.

Easy to assemble although the instructions weren’t very clear at all but we figured it out. Looks good. Overall happy with purchase

Tredz delivery etc was excellent, however the mudguard had to be cut down on both sides as the end lips were contacting the fork upper sliding tubes, they did not sit flush with the fork crown causing them to bend outward and touch, I tried adjusting the mudguard without success.

I cut off the lips and filed them smooth and everything was ok, however I would have expected them to fit from the start without modifications and subsequent. Fiddle?.

I like the material, nice blend of rigidity and compliance, and I was able to widdle mine down with a razor to fit my non-boost fork. Crazy there is not much on the market other than these for bolt-on fenders in non-boost forks.

With this mudguard, dont expect ample protection but it does do the job; wish this came in something other than ??. Update: I am getting the black one now while theyre here, same price as dying the orange one.

Fair warning, this fender is a butte and very enduro, but it leaves the bottom of your stanchions and dust wipers exposed; especially to sticky, loose debris (like gravel) under grippy tires like my Maxxis Minon DHR2s.

This is a great direct mount mtb front fender that fits my Fox 36 Rhythm fork perfectly. For some reason Fox doesn’t make a fender for their Rhythm forks so kudos to Syncros for filling the void. This fender mounts cleanly with no zip ties or ugly velcro straps necessary!.

These fenders do everything they should. They fit 35mm Gravelking SS tires. The stays are nice, sturdy, and adjustable. The fasteners are nice and have threadlock on them so they shouldn’t back out. I had to trim the front stays a bit – they were way too long for my 35mm tires.

Trimming was easy with a hacksaw. I cut 1/2 inch off and they fit nicely. No trimming needed on the back stays.

Just for reference I’ve used many types of road bike fenders over 25 years of commuting and riding in inclement weather. I’ve been using these fenders for around 9 months now. On paper these fenders look amazing (solid construction and aesthetics) and I was very exited to try them even for the extra cost over the usual plastic offerings.

Fitment wasn’t bad but I had to get a little creative as my commuter bike has a single rear upper seat stay before it branches around the wheel, so the mounting bracket required some modification to fit.

In use, they do the job, though a lot of water & mud still seems to find it’s way around the lips onto the top of the rear fender, and i’m only using 23mm tires so they’re not exactly wide. The flexible rubber flap at the bottom of the front fender flexes too much, so in cross winds it twists and then rubs against the tyre and is starting to look understandably ragged, it happens so often that I am now adept at unclipping a shoe and flicking it back with my toes without looking down whilst on the move! (not exactly safe I know).

Even worse is the noise, it’s embarrassingly loud, the rear fender vibrates on rough surfaces or bumps with a really loud metallic clang type noise, I have removed and reassembled it several times to check things out but with no solution.

My last resort will be to re drill the fixing holes at the rear to mount the fender stays 2-3 inches closer to the brake bracket (i. e. shortening the length between the mounting points to hopefully reduce the vibration).

The front fender has started to vibrate also, everything is tight, I believe it’s either a rivet in the mounting bracket or maybe the Portland logo on the front of the fender, I haven’t investigated yet.

After being really exited to finally find a potentially solid fender product, I feel utterly let down, especially given the price compared to other offerings. Some other reviewers seem to like them, so maybe I have a one-off product that failed quality control, who knows.

This fender works as advertised. I like that it is made of a thicker plastic than my old fender, so when I hit big compressions, the fender does not fold into the knobs of my tires, creating a disconcerting noise.

I also like that it comes with a roll of reusable velcro for when I need to take it off to service my fork. I have not used this in absolutely sloppy conditions, but since it not the biggest fender, some mud will be able to bypass it.

Manage your expectations.

Not really sure what this is supposed to be achieving. Purchased along with the rear mud guard. Both are simply not big enough to provide the protection that I was hoping for. Granted the conditions were atrocious following the snow thawing but I thought I would have been offered at least a little protection from my new purchases.

Effectively my clothing looked just like my last outing prior to fitting these (we’ve all been there – stripping off in the garden and having to hose off the mud from our clothes before putting in the washing machine).

Can’t say that I’m impressed – perhaps my next outing in hopefully not as difficult conditions will prove otherwise.

Flawless. It’s been on my bike for over a year. Minimal enough not to get hooked on things Stops grit from flying in you eyes. Flexible enough to bends a bit without breaking if you hit something. Can be used with bike racks that clamp front wheel.

Don’t bother with the velcro it comes with. Ziptie this on.

These are the best finders if you are installing and removing frequently. They take less than 10 minutes to install both. They work great and the price is exceptional.

Have had one set for many years and they’re holding up fine. Just bought another set for my boy’s bike, and expect the same. They haven’t changed anything.

Mounting is the issue – It comes with several diameters of compression fittings. If your bike matches a nice snug fit before you tighten it, it’s going to hold awesomely. However the worst case is (like my Ghost) the nearest size is slightly too large to fit then the next size down is like 3mm smaller.

You tighten this all the way and it’s just hanging on. This is where you must wrap the fitting with lots of electrical tape. In my case I have a mini-lathe; I turned it down 0. 5 mm to allow it to just fit and it then tightened like its welded in.

Cheating, I know. However try this – spin it in a drill and sandpaper the diameter down until you get a perfect fit. This fix is available to all.

I bought this fender to replace the previous one. The instructions & diagrams were very clear and easily understood. Installation was very easy and logical. I’ve had this on my mountain bike – 26-inch wheels – and it stayed on during some smooth & bumpy riding.

I’ll have to take this out through some puddles and/or muddy terrain, for fun, and to more thoroughly test it. 🙂 This fender also looks good. The price at REI was very reasonable, too. I just think this seems to be a very smartly-designed product.

More rides, over smooth and rough ways, will give me a better idea of just how good & durable it really is. Yes, so far, I’d recommend this to a friend.

Installed on MTB that I mostly use to go to work. Low cost (paid around 15euro). Quality looks good, not the usual Chinese crap, nevertheless it feels quite light to me. First installation a bit cumbersome, but the subsequent assembly and reassembly are very fast.

It works great, made several tests and I am not dirty as usual, indeed, not at all. It feels solid and stable to me, but I only used it on asphalt and gravel. I have combined it with the rear of the same brand (taken on another site for availability), both recommended, I am extremely satisfied.

After a lot of research on various sites, here is finally the best fender I could find: efficient rear light, clearly visible with long autonomy, good width to cover big 27. 5 “MTB tires, easy to put on and take off.

Thees alloy fenders feel more sturdier then the plastic fenders. The fit, finish and installation was great. One thing that will delay your installation is if you were not given the screw in eyelets when you purchased your trek bike.

I have a 2021 trek fx4 sport with aluminium frame and carbon fork had to contact the factory to get these eyelet pieces that don’t come in the fender hardware kit. Bontrager does not sell as a parts / mounting bracket kit.

It does a pretty good job at keeping stuff away from my face and my frame. Of course it’s not going to catch everything but I can already see the change in rocks and mud flinging up

This was just what i was looking for. A full fender that would fit my 29er hardtail offroad bike. It had a perfect fit on my Trek Marlin 7. To fasten the support rods in the front i used 35mm rubber clamps.

Now me, myself and my bike can enjoy wet and muddy roads without with a clean and fresh smile without mud between my teeth and up my neck. :).

Wasn’t sure about the plastic version of the fenders – but after I saw the quality of the materials, how easy they went on, well – not a bad product at all. Blend well with the color of my bike, work perfectly fine – they weigh less – no rust or corrosion – fair product for the purpose.

Good strong set of mudguards. Just note that the stays are chromed steel not stainless and there are no reflective panels, but still decent value for the quality. Highly recommended.
