Ok, so all that I had known about Chia Seeds were that the made your Chia Plants Hair Grow. Until YouTube and Google became more popular. I originally purchased this product because of its eye-catching packaging and attention to detail.

The bold colors and detailed ingredient list. I really like that it is resealable and keeps the seeds fresh and dry. The packaging is a good quality. I add the Chia Seeds to my morning smoothies. They are full of great health benefits and are Gluten free!.

I just bought this brand of chia seeds recently and I’m totally amazed by the quality! I love putting these seeds in my oatmeal, smoothies, juice or even just drinking it with water, I know it’s weird.

But I like this seedy texture. It also has health benefits. These little seeds have plant-based nutrition like alpha-linolenic acid and omega-3 fatty acids, which helps lower high blood pressure, great for preventing heart and blood vessel disease.

It’s also a great source of magnesium and fiber. It doesn’t have a distinctive taste but it feels like tiny poppy seeds. This bag of 14oz cost about $9. 49 and will probably last me within a couple of months.

Overall, I love it and will probably buy it again.

If you’re looking for a pretty good chia seed product without spending any big bucks. Then I definitely recommend this. Like any other, just take it and in the long run it’ll help. I take this every morning and later in the afternoon.

The taste isn’t too bad till you get to the end, but it’s just an earthly dirt taste. Usually have a shot of Aloe to go along with. Don’t waste your time about picking something else.

I must admit, I’ve never been one to trust food naming – I mean, come on “super” food, really? Now, looking into the details of this super seed blend, there’s quite some interesting stuff – of course, chia seeds (a classic!), but also flax seeds and hemp seeds.

All of that brings an healthy amount of Omega 3 and fibers into your body, which is recognized as being a good thing, especially considering our not so great daily diets. In the family, I’m not really the one recognized for picking up healthy foods, but my wife keep an eagle eye on things, and she is pretty happy with this seed mix.

And, as the saying goes, when wife is happy, that’s a good thing. Or something like that. Anyway. She says it has a pleasant nutty taste, which – I just checked the packaging – is apparently one of their claims, how convenient.

She uses the seed mix into her salads or her weird breakfast concoctions, and she looks awesome (my judgment may not be partial on this one). She told me to leave a high rating, and I’m not one to question what she says – at least, not in front of her, nor in public spaces.

In summary, this seed mix is great, try it!.

I have had terrible ibs for about 20 years and it’s hard for me to regulate my diet. It was suggested adding chia, flax, and Hemp seeds to my diet by different doctors at different times and surprisingly this bag has all three at once so I was very excited and it does help for my situation.

I add a scoop to my cereal in the morning or salad or veggie wraps at night and I really enjoy it. I know my situation is slightly unique of why I tried it but I think that it’s great.

I planted twice! The first time I planted I did not soak the seeds, because it wasn’t in the instruction manual. After weeks of barely anything growing I gave up! Then a friend of mine told me the best practice is to soak the seeds for 18-24 hours before planting.

I did this, and now they’re growing like crazy! I highly recommend trying again with new soil, and soaked seeds.

I just wanted to say that every one of my Herbs are growing very well. As described, when I followed the directions they sprouted very quickly. This was particularly important to me because I live in Oregon and have a really good idea where this company is.

We have had enough bad press and find it refreshing to hear something nice.

First, I am thrilled these are available. I bring salad to work most days and adding these really makes the salad that much better. The grow time they state is accurate. I only gave four stars for the following: recommended to change the water weekly if not more, but it makes a mess, wish there was a better way.

And, they grow a ton of greens, some tall some short in same mix. Makes it hard to cut correctly and thereby some end up “fuzzy” due to not being cultivated timely. Maybe it’s something I did wrong for these issues.

Plan To plan another batch this weekend, I’ll comment again if things are different.

The seeds are fresh since my tray was filled with sprouts. Before having the microgreens tray for Aerogarden, i used to have my own setup. I did not get as much volume. So, it may be the garden or the seeds or the combination of the 2.

Either way, i am very satisfied.

It isn’t spicy when served in a salad with lettuce, dressing and other ingredients. I was hesitant to grow them because I have to be careful about spicy foods. If chewed by themselves with no dressing, they have a strong flavor of radish.

I really didnt have high hopes for this but i planted each plant seed that was sent to me. most of them started popping up pretty quick. i would say the hardest one to get going is the lavender. But so far most of them are overall doing good so far.

I bought this one as well as the Mexican Salsa and Culinary Herb kits to get myself started. Just been tired of not having fresh herbs at home and paying extortionate prices at the store. These are such a good price I figured it was the right path to enter into the world of grow-your-own at my place.

The kits are extremely comprehensive, the instructions are easy, everything comes well packaged and separated so you can start as many/few as you like. I have had them going for a little over a week now and 90% of the seeds have germinated successfully.

I’m only waiting on about 5 individual starter pods out of 36 total. All of the current germinating plants look great, very healthy, and are well on their way to becoming healthy enough to move to their larger homes.

It really is such a great way to start at such a reasonable price as well. Costs about the same as about 3-4 bundles of herbs so why not try it yourself first. Can’t wait to start my next round of seedlings :-).

I’m new to growing microgreens and baby greens (although I definitely have a green thumb when it comes to houseplants), so I started with Dun Peas based on the description and reviews I read. They did not disappoint! These Dun Peas are easy to grow (even for a beginner), with a high germination rate and a dense output.

I grew them inside, in soil, in a 1-inch-deep tray, in a south-facing bay window. I followed the instructions given, although I also put them under a weighted tray for a couple of days after they germinated and before they were exposed to the light, and that seemed to give them some extra strength.

They were delicious, with a sweet and crunchy taste, and it seemed like at least some of them regrew after I’d done the initial harvest. I’m about to order more of them!.

I am a newbie microgreen farmer. I tried doing these without substrate on a microgreen tray with lots of holes. I had a 75% germination rate. This was completely on me. I didn’t water it enough. Once I altered my watering, they did well.

I then tried cocoa coir and had 99% germination and they came out strong and healthy. I think I will be using the cocoa coir method in the future. The peas seem to like the extra moisture around them.

I have made 4 trays so far with no rot or fungus. I do use food grade hydrogen peroxide and water mix exclusively in the germination stage so I think this does help. The flavor is subtle and sweet, awesome seeds.

I grow this microgreen for my local farmers market and have no trouble selling it. Usual seed 5 ounces per 10×20 tray and use the bootstrap shallow microgreen trays with matching under tray. The greens last for a long time in the refrigerator.

I had a can of therse seeds from 2011. I came across it in a closet and since it was so old ( they say good for 5 years this was 9 years old) I was going to throw itaway then I decided to just open the can to get a visual of how many seeds were included and they all l,ooked ok.

I had started a garden plot but things happened and I got busy and never planted and it was too late in the season according to every guide I checked so I ended up just throwing the 9 year old seeds around the plot I figured the birds would eat the seeds or whatever, I didn’t plant any seeds or water the garden nothinf and I just pulled 100 pounds of Zucchini and cucumbers and squash out of the garden, There are tiny baseball size melons also growing in the garden and the corn, tomatoes and other plants a re growing just not ready to harvest! Amazing!.

I grew these seeds in my garden in 2013. The peppers, zuchini, and carrots did great. The tomatoes grew like crazy and tasted great. but many tomatoes split while growing. The green beans produced all growing season and looked realy nice.

Onions also did well. The cantilope plant grew nicely but produced no fruit. not sure what happened. The spinach plants died early. again not sure why but I will try again next year. If you go buy individual packs of seeds for a big garden you will pay alot more than $20.

This was my first time starting vegetable seeds and I wanted to get a good quality seed starting mix. I started some seeds two weeks ago, and 4 days later they were already popping up!I don’t have much experience with soils, but I really like Black Gold from what I’ve seen so far.

It is hard to find a store that sells it in my area. Ace Hardware was the only one close enough that could ship it from their warehouse. I had ordered two other Black Gold products but they didn’t have it in stock.

All in all I really like it so far and would definitly use it again.

Too soon to tell how well the seeds do in it, but it doesn’t soak up water well. I thought I had saturated the medium, but only the top layer was wet. Underneath was still dry and fluffy.

I use chia in many different dishes, going from baking to cucumber water, to smoothies and chia pudding and jam of course. Unlike carbs, fiber isn’t digested and absorbed and chia seeds contain the highest levels of fiber.

Chia always provides a way to make you feel full. I eat chia and MANY different things. it is sooo easy to make chia jam and i make sure my family is eating healthier too. Received 4 oz of Alfalfa in a the mail from Apocabox. Not having a green thumb, I procrastinated purchasing a sprouting kit then I got hurt and ended up having surgery and finding out my blood pressure was too high.

Long story short, being on 4 different prescriptions a day I wanted to start eating better. I got a sprouting kit off amazon and picked up the seeds I had around and decided to try it no matter what happened after I started to grow them.

After 8 hours of soaking I could see some sprouts already trying to grow. Went by the instructions with the rinsing and everything looks good. One thing I have noticed is for only being a tablespoon and a half of seeds, it sure does increase in size and I thought for a moment my quart size jar was too small.

Now I can enjoy some heart healthy food that you can’t buy at a grocery store which cuts down on my trips town.

My husband uses these organic broccoli sprouts in his morning smoothy every day. They are very nutrient-dense and have many more vitamins than eating whole broccoli. They have a bit of a spicy flavor.

Quite a bite to them. Be aware that these might cause a gassy feeling, because they are a cruciferous vegetable, but if you can handle these vegetables ok when eaten whole, then you’ll do fine with these.

We find the quality of these sprouts to be excellent. Rinse in cold water during processing to keep them fresher. Then store in the refrigerator and eat within 5 days. If they become unappealing while being stored in the refrigerator, just rinse in cold water again and drain well.

Third five pound can in the past 2 years. We generally have 4-5 jars going at any given time and have had great success with yield and sprouting (we do use considerably less seed than many videos discuss as it seems pointless to throw away so much seed).

That being said we use the sprouts in smoothies, salads, wraps, and alone! Healing two cancers naturally and you can’t beat the sulfurophane! Full lush green sprouts and peppery intaste. LOVE these.

The plants do germinate quickly. However, less than half of the 50 seeds germinated. I followed all the instructions and have UV lights on the plants 24 hours. My students whose plants didn’t grow are very disappointed.

I am equally disappointed as I spent a lot of money on a small quantity of seeds that didn’t perform as stated.

Should have had more upfront info about Cool Fluorescent lights required for growing indoors before I made the purchase. I think I can do a work around, but that remains to be seen. Even with the classroom environment the growing system would not work as well as having it in one’s home in a storage space or unoccupied room where it could be check on periodically.

It may also be that some LED grow light combination could be used, but it might be somewhat more expensive rather than picking up a used fixture of some sort. If you intend to do more growing in the future of various kinds of plants then the LED lights might prove the better investment and might be easier to keep at the preferred height of about 10 cm (as I recall) above the tops of the growing plants.

To be fair the vendor does support this product with instructions in the seed kit along with offering other inventory that can be purchased to complete the total grow exhibit.

I used these in my meadow. They were stunning! But the huge stems made it difficult to clear my meadow for the next season. They either didn’t re-seed or I lost the seeds in the winter when I cleaned up my meadow for spring.

I have to mow to keep trees out and these had to be removed by hand and burned in piles. Unfortunately this could have been the reason my meadow failed in year two. All I had was ragweed. Almost nothing came back and I thin the reason was the thickness of the cosmos and how I handled maintenance.

I planted these on a hill that was cleared during construction of our house. We hadn’t moved in yet so I wasn’t around all the time to water initially. Because of this and the fact that the hill got less sun than I thought, they came up slower than I hoped and had less flowers.

Now heading into October though they seem to be picking up speed! Perhaps more sun? More darkness at night? The section I planted in another area flowered a lot more and earlier. Will be planting again in spring now that I know the sunniest areas of our land.

I planted these in two large areas in my front yard in April. They grew between 4 and 5 feet tall, and the ferny foliage is very pretty. However, they did not start to bloom until late September. They bloomed for perhaps 3 weeks before a freezing rain destroyed all the flowers.

For those 3 weeks, they were spectacular. Prolific clouds of blooms. The weather was cold, but they bloomed anyhow. However, there were only 3 colors: white, light pink and dark pink. The pics and description should be modified to indicate this.

I was the most excited about the red ones and the bicolor ones–none of my flowers were these colors. I will buy cosmos again, but not this particular mix.

I have been using fast plants for the AP Biology Artificial selection lab for 5 years, and have had inconsistent results. I had previous experience growing fast plants in a laboratory setting, so the first few years that I grew them in the classroom I used a similar setup and bought supplies from a local garden center.

After mixed results, I purchased the complete growing setup (watering system, soil, fertilizer, etc. ) from Carolina last year. I had one round of healthy plants, and then the next batch were stunted and frail.

The same thing happened this year. This lab requires a large starting population (about 200 plants) so having to replant is very time-consuming (and pricey). I would hate to give up this lab, but I’m running out of ideas.

I have never been more disappointed in a product. We ordered FOUR packs of these seeds because they are supposed give a 9:3:3:1 ratio. About 1/3 of the seeds simply died, and of those that did survive we have bizzare ratios.
