20 Best Faux Leather For Cricut (2023 Updated)

I bought this for personal use and the occasional business project. I’ve done 2 different projects so far and am really pleased with the performance. It is fast, accurate and gives very professional results.

It is relatively easy to use with the Cricut Design app but I found that it works better in some projects than others. The Design space is not entirely intuitive and my first project was very frustrating to set up.

I needed the cuts to be in very specific places on the sheet but the Design Canvas seems to try and maximize space on the sheet which changed some of my cut placements. I was using the Cricut mat and my own paper instead of the smart materials.

I finally found a happy medium with the layout and got very good results. My next project used the 9′ Iron On roll. My project used the entire roll and did a great job in a single cutting job. I got fantastic results – especially with my layout knowledge from the first project – and I was really pleased with the machine.

I would highly recommend the Cricut Maker 3 for it’s speed, versatility and results. I have been very pleased so far and my only complaints would be difficulty in layout, how quickly the Cricut Cutting Mats need to be replaced and the fact that I didn’t know that you had to pay for the use of any fonts in the Design Space.

I’ve used this a few times to cut vinyl and have been very impressed with how well it cuts. I made a replica of the LA skyline but replaced the buildings with my friends names and stuck it around a glass candle bowl as a gift to a friend who was leaving town and I couldn’t believe it managed to cut palm trees on the skyline which had trunks which were literally the same size as this letter I.

BTW transfer paper allows you to take off and place stickers perfectly. I’m new to the cutting world and super excited as I also found a color printer for $60 on ebay so now I can laser print in color and cut on all kinds of materials! I can’t talk about the previous versions, however this one is very good.

I’d guess the version 2 would also be very good if you are on a budget as the quality of this model suggests the previous one would also be great. Walmart has a bunch of materials you can browse too if you want stuff today.

TIP: In the software, use the Pin function to stick everything on the visual board – I learned this in a YouTube and so glad I saw it because then it prints exactly where and how you imagine (it’s bottom right on the icons).

I had previously planned on getting a cutting machine because I had seen pictures/videos of what they could do, but I didn’t know what would be the best one for me. A friend of mine suggested I borrow her Cricut Maker so that I could play with it and test it out to see if it was what I was looking for or if even worth the money for me.

She had bought hers and didn’t have the time to use hers as often as she thought she would. She still loves her Cricut and doesn’t regret paying what she paid (regular full price). Me on the other hand.

I. FELL. IN. LOVE! I love making things for every occasion. I really don’t have time, but I MAKE time. Although I still have a lot of learning to do, I found it very easy to work with. I did have a couple of hit and miss projects, but online videos were a great help on teaching different techniques to save time and material.

Now the cons: I think it is a little bit too pricy when you have to pay extra for a subscription just to work on a project. Since I was using my friends account to try the machine out, I didn’t know about this.

I assumed she had a subscription because she likes to have all the extras (her pockets are a little deeper than mine and is always extra), not because she had to just to work on a project. Don’t get me wrong, the Cricut Maker is an awesome machine, I’m just very unhappy about having to pay for a subscription after already paying a steep price for the machine itself.

Because I loved it so much, I didn’t mind paying the asking price, but having to add a subscription on top of that makes me think I should have looked at other options before making my final decision.

If you don’t mind paying extra for a subscription then yes I recommend this machine. The possibilities are countless! Such a great toy.

I purchased the cricut maker a year ago, super excited to have an upgrade from the ancient cricut explore one– yeah the OG machine. And boy do I regret ever swithching machines. I purchased with the intent of using the fabric cutting feature and was so excited.

Right off the bat I had bluetooth connection issues, but just turned a blind eye as it probably wasn’t an issue, right? Wrong. It continued to worsen to points where it could take 15 minutes to connect and would randomly disconnect while cutting.

It was incredibly inconvient, but it still functioned so I stuck with it. It was until I wanted to recalibrate my blades that I started noticing issues. It wouldn’t recalibrate my blade because it “couldn’t detect the blade.

” Odd, right? That’s when I contacted cricut and asked for a refund because I was done with this. Turns out, even though the warranty says I can ask for a refund, they don’t actually want to give you the money back.

How sweet of them! So I carried on until yesterday when it straight up died. I won’t cut anything, it just shuts down. The best part of it all? My one year warranty is up 🙂 How convenient for me! It’s just so sad that a 5 year old cricut explore one out performs a brand new cricut maker.

The quality of these new machines are terrible and really go to show you that cricut is more interested in making money than providing quality product. I would steer clear of all of cricut’s new machines and, if anything, purchase an older model.

If you ever wondered what it would be like to own a cricut – just buy one! The things this can do is crazy. I’ve spent many hours researching the different cutting machines and this hands down – is the best! I’ve had a lot of fun playing with this cricut maker.

I’ve made personalised onesies & bibs for my daughter; zooper dooper holders; my husband’s logo onto his work shirts, stubby holders, mugs, car decals; wall decals for my sons’ bedroom walls; tote bags for shopping and library bags for my children; not to mention cards of all kinds.

I’ve probably forgot to list the other things I’ve made with the maker. YouTube is your new best friend. Have been asked to make items for an upcoming wedding also. I was going to dip my feet in the cricut world and buy a cricut joy – so glad I went for the maker first.

Cricut maker is super versatile as you can buy items outside of the brand as well. I never ever ever write reviews – but I was excited to write one for the cricut maker.

This Is The Worst Vinyl Cricut Sells In Opinion. I Do Shirts As Well As Personalized Items And I Threw So Many Of These Vinyls Away Both Iron On And Regular Vinyl. I High Reccomend You Buy The Mat For The Joy And Use Regular Vinyl.

I Highly Reccomend Agsinst Using The Ones Made For The Joy. You Will Lose More Much More Money. The Tranfer Paper Is Horrible Is Well And The Smart Vinyl Iron On Also Does Not Stick. Terrible Experience And Disappointment, Much Money Wated.

So I did a review prior about how this product did not meet my needs due to supply shortage of the product I needed bud Michaels denied it. Hoping this can be posted so the company can properly stock their materials.

I needed the regular vinyl but it was not available so I purchased the Joy size and the material itself seemed poorer than the regular CRICUT vinyl. it also is more expensive when you compare roll sizes.

I am new to this so it was perfect for a mini project I had to complete. The individual sheets allowed me to experiment with colours and not spend a fortune on kits of rolls of vinyl. I think it would have been a nice touch to have had a sheet of transfer tape included too.

The texture added a very cool feel to the decorations I created to put on the plastic pumpkins I bought at Michaels. The vinyl was extremely easy to work with and looks fantastic. I have gone on to make 7 more pumpkins as gifts because they were so popular with my friends.

Great embossed texture compared to the plain colours. Slightly thicker so need to change to custom cut on the cricut. Only problem I was having was getting this vinyl onto the transfer tape. Didn’t seem to want to go on like the others do.

Like all circut products, it is great. It has a nice texture, so it’s not flat and boring. The texture reflects light differently, so it looks interesting.

I made an outdoor sign for our neighborhood “Story Time in the Park” which runs from June through August. I needed a product that would stand up to the elements (especially rain) yet be removable. The colors are just as vibrant today as the day I put it together.

The Cricut removable vinyl has worked perfectly. I highly recommend this product.

Really nice quality vinyl. I have used it on wood which it has attached to well. Easy to weed. Knocked off a star for the price which is quite high compared to other makes of just as good quality. Smaller packs and a wider range of colours would be good.

Or the ability to pick and choose single sheets so you don’t have to buy colours you won’t use.

I didn’t buy this for the same reason as anyone would vinyl sheets. I got it to use as a stencil for a spray paint job on a glass panel. As a stencil? It worked well, 5 stars. Edges stayed down and didn’t bleed or come up when spraying.

And the finished lines are clear and not fuzzy. As a vinyl? Or removable? 1 star. I tested my stencil on scrap glass and plexiglass. It sticks really really well. Yes it came off, but at what cost. I had to fight it and pull as hard as I possibly could all along the way.

It left behind tons of sticky residue. On glass or plexiglass I can remove it sure, but on another surface that is slightly more delicate. don’t hold your breath. It definitely won’t come off paper without tearing it.

I honestly thought I had bought a permanent roll until I checked the label again. It came off in pieces and kept tearing. Luckily I won’t use the pieces after spraying over the stencil. Again 5 stars for the potential for stenciling.

But 0-1 stars for it being removable.

I’m new to Cricut and brought myself a Joy, so I wanted to try as many materials as I could with this machine. I love the vinyl as there is so many different colours, this particular set is removable which is great if it turns out you don’t like what you’ve made! I really like that this pack contains samples of different colours.

You get 5 colours and each sample is of sufficient size to do either a test cut, or a small/medium size project. I’m definitely going to use vinyl a lot more in my crafting I love it. I wouldn’t give it any cons as I haven’t had any so far.

Love this product and all the other vinyls I bought, however it’s not written very large that this was removable not permanent, and the matte/glossy option info is on the side of the packaging so that’s kind of annoying as I ended up with a mix of glossy/matte and permanent/removable by accident when I bought a few packs.

I know in future to look very closely to make sure I’m getting the right stuff but for someone buying for the first time it would be helpful to have all this info on the front of the packaging as well as it being larger and clearer.

I’ve never worked with this type of product before and as I don’t have a cricut machine I was a little worried I would be wasting my money. So far, it seems I needn’t have worried. I have used the vinyl to apply lettering to steel drinks bottles for my sons to take to school.

I have used a Sizzix Big Shot and Sizzix dies to cut the letter and applied them using my fingers and a smoother from the cricut accessories pack. I haven’t washed the bottles in a dishwasher yet, but the lettering looks well adhered and has withstood being put in and out of backpacks and being hand washed during the holiday.

I’ve also used it to label all the tablet/phone chargers in the house. My only gripe is that the pack is expensive if you are not using a lot for your project, so for someone like me it wouldn’t be a very cost effective way of trying out vinyl.

It would be good if a smaller size pack was available as well, for small projects and trying out something new.

I went to hobby craft as I’ve never been in one before , om goodness I was like a child at Christmas. They have a very good range of cricut accessories as well as the machines, since I done my first spend I’ve been back 3 more times in one week.

Cricut vinyl paper is great, really easy to use. Zulily price was the best out there. They also package the vinyl paper flat without bending them. I would definitely purchase again.

This Lilac Cricut Explore Air 2 was purchased as a gift for my brothers girlfriend because we have enjoyed my new machine so much. I recently purchased a Cricut explore air 2 bundle and over the last few weeks we have had such a great time crafting together.

She lives a county away. We have made individualized Christmas ornaments, individual custom stockings, stencils used to burn custom names onto butcher block and stencils to etch glass with. We are still working on the technique to get a tight adhesion for the glass etching but the wood came out gorgeous.

There have been moments of frustration from the learning curve but we are both new to Cricut or anything like it. Regardless, its been lots of fun once all these projects came together. The machine itself was easy to setup.

Clear directions and straightforward. After that there is basically nothing youtubers cant teach each other. Definitely an nice toy for any craft lover.

The delivery was speedy. It arrived in its original box via UPS (no bubble wrap or cardboard box from Target) , but the machine seemed fine with the manufacturer packaging. Had the machine did some sophisticated works in the first few trial runs and it performed well.

The Cricut design club-based software is very straightforward and a breeze to use, as I design my own graphics using other program and import into their design space to cut/print – I do need to make a few adjustments to make it to work but it is doable.

There are huge collection of things to download with subscription fee if one wants to save time (it does take time and skills to design your own). The only downside is the default designs/fonts are very limited, so if you are not very artsy, may need to consider the additional subscription fee.

The machine requires a large working area to operate this machine so definitely plan extra space around the machine. As newbie, watching YouTube tutorials prior to trying out the machine definitely help making the first experience fun, saving time and precious card stocks, vinyls, etc.

I absolutely love this HTV. I have a business where I make shirts, and this is my favorite vinyl to use, by far. It’s matte, lightweight, and very soft. It’s not super thick or shiny. It’s also a great quality and does NOT fall apart after washing! This stuff seems to last forever.

I love it and will only buy it for my business. I also prefer to buy it from Walmart because they have really good sales on the mega rolls from time to time. So I stick up when the price is right!.

I was hesitant in purchasing this vinyl since I had heard that cricut vinyl wasn’t the best. But since we bought the Cricut Explore 3, I decided to give it a try. Since it’s the smart vinyl you don’t need the mat, and it cut very well.

I used a heat press and it took less than 10 seconds to stick to the t shirt. I tried once with a parchment paper and it was a BAD choice, it left a mark on our shirt. So I tried again without the parchment paper and it went on well and my shirt has been washed about twice now and vinyl has stayed on really well.

Definitely recommend.

I used the gold shimmer, black Shimmer, & red Shimmer Smart Iron. It worked well with the Cricut Design Space image I used to make my first multi layered T-shirt. I was so excited to see the finished project.

It is really nice, and it looks like a high end t-shirt. If there was one thing I could change it would be the thickness of having three layers. If there was some way to gel all three layers together so it wouldn’t be so thick that would be great.

The bottom line is that I will definitely be buying more of the Shimmer.

As a teacher, I send awards off for engraving every year. Between paperwork, approvals, physically taking the awards to a sop…It is a hassle. I ordered this hoping I might be able to engrave them myself.

This exceeded my expectations! It was super easy and looks the same as the professional jobs. And, I can add personal jobs. I’m looking forward to exploring more with this tool.

This product is amazing for personalizing items such as gifts for friends or family. The simplicity and easy installation into the machine was also a reason for trying new projects. Making a dog tag for our new puppy took about 4 mins start to finish and it came out amazing.

I am going to make seasonal tags for him.

The Engraving Tip is one of the few that requires a Maker and is not backwards compatible. I think that is the only thing to keep in mind with this amazing little tool. Just like everything Cricut it is built sturdy and uses quality materials.

You can engrave on such a variety of materials and have just superb control with the Cricut. I suggest the first time you think you need this attachment, just go for it and have it in your tool box because you will find use after use for it.

About 3 years ago I purchased a Cricut Explore Air and learned alot about this type of crafting. I made alot of varied items on it, but was ready for an upgrade. So after lots of research I chose the Cricut Maker, and I’m so glad I did! I love to make Christmas gifts so I put it to work using iron on and infusible ink.

I made several pillows and a Scripture board and ciuldn be happier! On the infusible ink, my last machine tore the paper some, but this Maker did not, and was really easy to weed. I’m thinking I’ll be doing alot more crafting in 2023!! 😊.

I received my Cricut Maker bundle right on time. The service Craft E Corner is great and I love supporting small businesses. I’ve never owned a Cricut before and never seen one in action. I was amazed when I did the set up at how easily and quickly the project was completed.

The quality of this machine is much more than I expected. I make small ID wallets and cutting out is the worst part! The Maker will cut out all the pieces and allow me to complete each wallet in a fraction of the time it normally takes.

I have completed the cut sheets in Design Space and am eager to get started on Christmas presents!!.

This holographic vinyl looks great, especially in direct light. Buying the multi pack is great value compared to buying separately as you get 3 sheets of 24in compared with one sheet of 48in for just £1 more, so 50% extra for just one pound!.

It’s gorgeous! You get three coloured sheets in the pack: Opal, blue and pink. They’re all gorgeous! Opal is my favourite one. Cuts really well and weeds well too

This vinyl has a lovely colour. It cuts well in the Cricut and shows a brilliant shine when applied to products! I will definitely be purchasing this vinyl again!
