20 Best Fake Blood For Clothes (2023 Updated)

Theo Keating is a man of many guises; those of you who were around in the 90’s will probably know him as Touché, others might know him for his avant-garde work in The Black Ghosts and others, who are really really nerdy, might know him for his part in The Wiseguys.

But for today’s exercise we’re concentrating on his Fake Blood moniker and his debut album ‘Cells’. The opening couple of tracks show-off Fake Blood at his very best. ‘Yes/No’ and ‘Airbrushed’ will immediately bring back memories of his flamboyant Touché productions.

They’re overflowing with mind-bending acid riffs, over-the-top rave hooks and steely drums. ‘Phantom Power’ ‘End of Days’ go a completely different direction. They’re jarring pieces of haunted techno; creepy as hell, but mildly accessible.

You get a real sense that Fake Blood is trying inject moments of unbridled tension, trepidation and fear within ‘Cells’, which he does with varying levels of success. It’s a battle between light and dark – but you know there’s only ever going to be one winner.

‘All In The Blink’ is momentary respite; happy, carefree, and obviously Fake Blood luring you into a false sense of security. By the time you hit ‘Let It Go’ you’re back in the warehouse groove as he attempts to match acrid basslines with mainstream vocals, we’d even go as far as saying it’s one of the best tracks on the album.

The unrelenting darkness continues with the grating ‘Sideshow’; the smokey pop of ‘Soft Machine’; and the inharmonious ‘London’. ‘Cells’ is a really accomplished album, but you can’t help but feel it strays a bit too far into the dark, in places.

It’s not really a criticism – but as a body of work it’s very hard to fault. Ruthlessly efficient, inherently dark, but brimming with catchy leads, bulbous kicks and haunting synths. It’s electro at its best – but just don’t expect to come out the other end with a renewed sense of purpose or positivity.

This fake blood is AMAZING! It was originally pretty pricey but I waited for the right time and got it for 50% off! I have used so much of it already. It takes very little to complete a look and provides a very gory finish! The consistency is a mix between runny and thick.

I don’t really know how to describe it. But it is the perfect blood to finish a bloody scab up with!.

One of the best brands that I have tried for my special effects makeup. The texture is very pasty and does not smudge or stain makeup, it does not have any fragrance or irritate the skin and it is easy to remove and does not leave the skin stained after it has been removed unlike other brands that then pigments the skin for even hours after removing makeup.

I like Graftobian’s blood paste a lot! I love how it is not totally liquid straight out of the bottle but almost pasty! It is very red, making it very realistic for gorey looks! The only problem is is that this, along with some of their other products, tend to “melt” when it heats up! The blood gets super duper drippy pretty quickly, making it hard to work with and the potential to mess up all of the other makeup applied!.

Graftobian stage blood is the most creepily realistic fake blood I’ve come across to date, and it’s even safe to swish and spit! Looks like the real thing right out of the bottle both in color and texture, and dries to a nice dark scab-like crust on skin.

On clothes it dries bright red with an almost powdery texture, and will probably stain light materials, not that that’s a problem. I was pleasantly surprised both by the quality of the effect it creates as it runs down skin, and the relatively natural ingredients it’s comprised of.

HIGHLY recommended!.

I use this as an addition to my show car as it is a Mad Max theme. The blood runs perfectly, stops and seals up and then continues to run under the right weather conditions. Easy cleanup and just looks amazing when used, ppl love it.

My only complaint I have would be the accessibility to buy bigger than the 16 oz. so I don’t through it so fast but I was told to buy the bigger amount id have to buy 4 of them at once. I just don’t need that many nor pricewise is it worth it.

That would be all i could say, still hands down the best out there.

I love this blood so much. It gave a really authentic and professional look. I used a palate knife to apply it because the bottle doesn’t have a dropper or anything, but that wasn’t really a problem.

It keeps dripping really slowly which makes it look really real. I must admit it tastes pretty good as well because it’s syrup based (I used it around my mouth). It’s thick so it’s not likely to spill and make a mess easily but because it’s pretty sticky so I wouldn’t use it on kids or with nice white clothes or anything.

I didn’t mind because nothing touched it once it was on my face. I used it with home-made scar wax to do special effects makeup but this stuff looks great on its own if you don’t want to get technical.

This isn’t the cheapest blood out there but I’d say if you’re choosing to buy blood instead of make it at home it’s worth getting this one- it looks super effective.

This is my favorite fake blood to use for SFX looks! It looks SUPER similar to real blood and dries down like it as well, isn’t super thick or jelly, and not super runny either! Easy to splatter, easy to drip.

The color is spot on! Sometimes I add a little black or brown eyeshadow to darken it for added creepiness! (I would say it’s a tad pricy for the size. It lasts me a long time just being used on my face but for bigger projects I’d definitely go for something cheaper!).

This blood is awesome! Stage blood is great for fresh wounds of all kinds and can help cover up prosthetic mistakes easily. I like to dip a q-tip in it and drip it on for a more concentrated effect, or dip a brush in it and flick it on after watering it down for a splattered effect! **FAKE WOUND IN PICTURE BELOW USING PRODUCT!**.

My sister has enjoyed watching videos online that has to do with SFX stuff. So I bought her the starter kit, with everything in it, for her birthday. And OMG she has really blown my mind. She is doing amazing things with this and the products work SO GOOD.

Pros: Soon as I received the blood, I tried it out. This is the best fake blood I’ve ever used in a while, considering I’ve used other fake bloods from other stores and most blood I’ve used has been way cheaper.

But this blood is amazing not just for it’s looks, but the smell and taste. It’s got a realistic consistency and the taste is NOT as strong as I thought it was going to be. Noticing it said “Zesty Mint Flavor”, I thought the taste was going to be as strong as chewing gum, but I was wrong.

Realistic and awesome. Cons: I never had any irritation with this product, however it does say it may for some people.

I first heard about this product from one of my favourite youtubers. She is a body painter and absolutely loves Halloween, to the point where she starts decorating her set with cheeky skeletons in august 😂.

She uses this product when doing special effects makeup to make a wound look really deep, as it is a very dark blood red colour.

I was extremely skeptical of this product, but for four bucks, I decided to take a chance. I was very pleased with the results. My halloween costume was very gory, so I needed something realistic, and I was blown away.

I used a dropper to apply it and make it look like it dripped down my face. I even had it in my hair, and all over my hand. It washed out very well, with a bit of scrubbing, after several hours of wear.

I wish I could include a picture, it was amazing!.

This product is exactly as described. Looks like real blood. In certain wounds it can be a little thin/light but to fix that just break apart a cotton ball and submerge it in the blood and put it in the “wound” and you will have deeper lasting color and also texture.

It does great though and it last forever, ive done like 5 makeups and am only an inch down the bottle.

This is the best stage blood that I’ve ever used. It’s very easy to apply and can be used for different things. It’s a go to product for me to use when I do an SFX look and or a Halloween look. The quality of the product is the best.

I love the fact that it’s made out of completely edible ingredients so it’s safe around the mouth area. I find that it does stain slightly and it dries to a crackable texture. I’d definitely buy this again.

Ok, I know you are all here to get beautiful and glow up. However, one day every year in October I glow down. Wayyyyyyyyy down. 🙂 This blood gel is the game changer that helps me do it. This stuff is very realistic and stays where you put it.

Adds some dimension as well. Ben Nye products really do what they’re supposed to do and the price is fair. Bonus- it washes off easily and is still usable for a few years if you seal it well.

My daughter is super into FX make up right now and wanted to be a bloody demon for Halloween. Knowing very little about FX make up myself, I researched what I could and reviews continually led me to Ben Nye Fresh Scab.

I purchased it and it worked out phenomenally for her costume. I love the ability the product has to layer and add depth in both dimension and color. My daughter has sensitive skin and experienced zero problems with Ben Nye Fresh Scab, even after hours of having it on her skin.

The product also washes off easily and dries pretty fast. By far my daughters favorite product in her beginners FX make up kit. 10/10 would buy again.

Got the job done. Not going to lie, I was concerned using this on top of a full face of makeup, but it actually turned out pretty decent. I did my face makeup like normal. The contour, highlight, setting powder etc.

Then, I started with the blood. First I used a flat brow brush to make blood streaks, but it didn’t look very realistic. To get a realistic look, use eye shadows and contour powders to make lines where your “cuts” are at, then squeeze the blood out and let it drip on its own.

I used this for my “botched plastic surgery” look this year on Halloween, and got so many compliments on how real it looked. One person actually asked me if I recently got work done :).

It is cheap therefore it’s affordable. It’s sold at most retailers especially during Halloween season so it’s easy to find. It does work to give makeup a that bloody spooky look. It does dry pretty quickly, and to get that fresh wound/bleeding effect it does need to be reapplied.

The tube is small so it doesn’t hold a lot for bigger projects but definitely perfect for beginners in the SFX makeup field.

this is the best fake blood I have ever used, the first time I used it I was very impressed. wet or dry it looks real. when I first used it I had troubles applying but I learned how to apply it heavy.

The price of the item is great. It’s in a simple twisty tube which is good. until it comes out wrong and spills on your carpet (happened to me) I wouldn’t say the blood looks realistic but it’s fine for a bit of fun at halloween.

Its VERY runny so i’d say be careful! I’ve read reviews from people saying it’s stained their face, but it did not stain mine. I removed the blood with my usual makeup wipe and it came off just fine :).

So I was excited for this coming for my daughter for Halloween. I thought I’d test it out first and it went on great looks realistic then I washed it off! Only it didn’t come off it stained, really bad I scrubbed it and I had a bath and it’s still on.

I got this for my 3 yr olds face I tested it on my hand thankfully but very disappointed I can’t now use it for what I got it for.

This was the final touch to my fancy dress makeup, it dried fine but by the time I got to the venue – 10 minute drive away – it had started peeling off & just left unpleasant staining behind. Wouldn’t recommend this product.

I bought this blood for a costume i’m working on (Popee, from Popee the Performer), and i can definitely tell you i’m satisfied. I’ts nowhere close to the best blood i’ve ever bought (that title has to go to blood gel!), it worked very well for the purpose i bought it for! On that note, it works great for nosebleeds and small cuts.

While the colour is a tad brighter than actual blood, i had the advantage of working with a cartoon character, so a slightly more comical red is acceptable. However, keep in mind that this might just be my preference, as i usually prefer darker bloods anyways.

It’s a bit runny, however this is easily fixable by just adding a tiny bit of thick [skin safe] liquid. Overall, it’s great! Although, keep in mind, if you’re going for an ultra-realistic wound or look in general, this might not be the perfect blood for you.

PS, if you’re taking your makeup seriously and this isn’t just a one time thing, i’d definitely advise you look into researching different types of blood! Madeyewlook has a great video on it 🙂 This is excellent for stage blood, but it might not be amazing if you’re looking for a more dark and/or thick blood!.

Awesome! : This product was perfect for Halloween! I used it mostly on my face and had no problems at all with it. Washes off easy with lukewarm water and a flannel/baby wipe. Friends with their own products even decided to use my fake blood instead of their own as this one gave a more realistic bloody look, unlike their products which looked like sticky ketchup! Great consistency, not too runny and not too thick.

Nothing bad to say about it, affordable price for such a good product.

Good for a bloody gob : This product is good for any halloween costume or costume that needs added gore. Good realistic blood colour. I used this product throughout a night out to top up on blood running down my chin and neck as i was a zombie for one night only.

Its not too runny and stiffens up pretty quickly so doesn”t get everywhere.

Nice viscosity. Sweet, so okay in the mouth but does dry for handprints etc. Love the darker old blood colour.

While I had heard a lot about Ben Nye’s Scab Blood and how recommended it was, I was a little hesitant to try anything super thick- so I opted for Dark Blood. I used it for a torn face makeup for comicon, and it was amazing.

It was easy to use and spread, and it provided realistic gore while still being easy to maintain and without getting everywhere. It was also great to mix with water and create a splash effect on my lab coat.

Definitely would recommend!.

I typically concoct my own fake blood for film or photo shoots, but I decided to try this Ben Nye one for the ease of storage and availability when I’m in a hurry. I couldn’t be happier. A little product goes a long way and the bottle is very secure.

No spilling even though it was shipped internationally to me. This bloodlooks very realistic and oozes nicely! I can’t wait to do more with this product!.

This dark blood looks much more realistic than regular blood. but I preferred to use the bloody scab for the cuts on my face. This was just a teeny bit runnier than I wanted (I think I’ll try Ben Nye’s thick blood next).
