Best Fades For Wavy Hair (2024 Updated)

As someone who dyes their hair & has wavy/curly hair repeatedly I have been suffering with dry frizzy hair with an itchy scalp & weak hair. Let me tell you I’ve been using this for A month now & I can 100% see a difference in my hair.

My hair is so soft & isn’t frizzy. I even walk out while it’s humid & raining & my hair doesn’t frizz up at all!! It’s so much more manageable & it’s growing super quick! I’m obsessed! My hair also feels super light.

Compared to other shampoo brands (And I’ve tried a lot) it’s absolutely worth the money. I’m never going back. I don’t even need to put any hair product in after I wash it.

I have enjoyed Acure’s products in the past, before they updated their packaging within the last year or so. But, when they “fancied up” their packaging, they cheapened down their products and they aren’t what they used to be.

I was expecting this product to be moisturizing to my hair, but it makes my hair feel dry and straw-like. While my hair is still wet, it feels like my hair would feel moisturized when it dries. But, the opposite is true.

I wish they would go back to their old recipes.

I’ve used a few products in the past promising to define my wavy/curly/cavewoman hair that have left much to be desired. I thought that might be the fate of Wavetech, too. I’ve seen the videos of Brad reacting to users’ results, so I decided to give it a shot.

The first go-around, I opted to comb it into my wet locks, scrunch and diffuse dry. Frizzy mess with very little cur definition. The next time, I combed it into my wet hair, scrunched and let it air dry.

Slightly better results, but even my wide-tooth comb broke up my curls into very small sections, and it just didn’t look pretty when dry. The third time, I decided to comb conditioner through my hair and make it ultra smooth before rinsing.

When I got out of the shower, I skipped the comb altogether and just used my hands to work Wavetech through my length and ends, scrunch a bit, and let it air dry. To be clear, I did this while my hair was still slicked back from the shower rinse, I didn’t comb/brush/part it AT ALL.

The results this time were AWESOME. My hair doesn’t come out quite as voluminous as those viral videos would have you believe (and I truly believe those girls are taking a curling iron to fix stray pieces before showing off the final “result”), but the curls are there and defined, frizz is minimal, and my hair is actually presentable without needing to heat style it.

I’m still trying to figure out how to sleep on it without ruining all the curl, but I have gone back and re-wet any flat sections and reapplied Wavetech to those spots for a refresh, and that worked well.

The reason I didn’t give it five stars is really two-fold: following the directions as stated on the bottle did NOT work for me. I had to play around with it and find how my hair would best react. Second, I REALLY HATED the smell at first.

It was reminiscent of a man’s body wash when I first smelled it and I was not into it. I’ll say I’ve grown to like it. Try Wavetech and play with how to use it. I think you’ll like it.

The day I purchased this product, I had just gotten a glaze done on my hair after being dye free almost a year, and growing out my natural color/grays. I wash my hair once a week – alternating shampoos and conditioners.

All three uses below started with a base of Maui Moisture Curl Quench Control + Coconut Oil Curl Smoothie as my leave-in conditioner. The first time I used it I was amazed because it created such a nice cast on my curls, and did not get frizzy, even after diffusing.

What I love is that my hair is moveable when I use this. I can play with the curls and nothing gets crazy on me. What I don’t like is that it does not hold volume, and on day two, I had no curl left – as it was.

So, day 2 I rewet it and scrunched in my Maui Foam Mouse in for more curl hold. This was routine throughout the week, and at the end, I could feel some buildup. Par for the course. The second time I used it, I used a bit less and added the Maui Foam Mouse.

Again, the XMondo kept it hydrated, kept it smooth, and moveable and the Maui did help to enhance volume, and retain the curls better throughout the day. That week I kept rewetting with some leave-in condition in my water – and it worked well.

But the volume deflated and the curls weren’t as curly. This third time I washed, I did not use the XMondo. I put in my Maui Smoothie, and my OGX Argan Oil of Morocco Curling Perfection Curl-Defining Cream, and air dried.

On day 4, I soaked my hair and added the Maui Foam Mouse and diffused. The curl and volume were amazing, my hair was shiny, no frizz, great cast on the curls, and it was movable! They held all day and I was like, huh? I don’t think the movement, shine, and anit frizz had any thing to do with the XMondo product – it was the result of the glaze! However, I will note that my hair does not feel as soft, day 5, as it has after using XMondo – so it does offer a moisture content that holds up, that my products do not.

I was really hoping this product would work. So much so that I’m so upset it didn’t work. But I’m hoping this review will potentially help somehow someway. And again, I didn’t want to give a one star review, but there were several things that just made this product so bad for me personally.

First and foremost, this product is super oily and super sticky. I use hair products daily (cosmetologist and all) and my hands just stick to everything. Furthermore, my hair is super thick, not too fine but not too corse either, and has a natural wave.

I guess I’m one of those people this just doesn’t work on. But after applying it to my hair, in sections just to get in there evenly, it’s just oily – straight up greasy and not the best feeling. I get a wave here or there but it feels so heavy, even with minimum product.

I’ve tried applying like instructed, I’ve tried applying when dry, I’ve tried applying and then trying to hairdry a little – nothing works. Waited various amounts of time, tries less product opposed to more product.

All I get is grease and frizz. I’ve had to shampoo my hair about four times just to get the product out as it left a greasy, oily film on my hair. I can’t express how gross it made me feel. Again, I’m really, really, really upset because I want this product to work and was wanting to give a better review.

Final result by styling standards was getting a wave I could achieve just by letting my hair air dry after a regular shampoo: uneven waves and frizz. So sorry!! But my hair is the way it is and hope it works better for everyone else.

I hate that I didn’t like this hair product, because I really like the shampoo and conditioner of this line. But this smoothie was hugely disappointing. It has a very slimy/gluey texture that does not mix/spread into my hair well at all.

The first time I used it my hair was quite wet. I tried to work the product in my hands before applying, but was still left with white splotches I had to wipe away/in. Since it didn’t spread, I ended up using a lot of product.

After a few hours (when my hair would be dried with other products), my hair felt crunchy like a mousse, but sticky like a pomade. It had no natural movement and looked wet. I tried it a 2nd time on damp hair – not as wet as the 1st time – and used a lot less product.

It didn’t have the stickiness like before but looked the same. I had little frizz, but it was still stiff like if I added glue to my hair. Both times it leaves my hair looking fried – similar to when it’s damaged and fried with heat or chemicals.

It’s stiff, whispy, and dry. The container says you can add to dry hair, but it’s like adding glue. Not a good situation. The only positive thing I say about it is that it smells good enough to eat. Unfortunately, I can definitely not recommend this to anyone.

There has been a new formula change to this product once again. I just wanted to put that out there for all of the folks out there that may not know this already. The newest version that’s out contains water as the first ingredient, coconut fruit juice as the second ingredient, and glycerin (vegetable) as the third ingredient.

Shea butter is listed as the 5th ingredient. And, the last ingredient listed is fragrance. At this point, I think, I have bought and tried every version that Shea Moisture has ever come out with this product before.

I can personally say that between the original version and the latest version, there is no major difference that I have found, even though they of course have different formulations of course. If you have a looser curl pattern, you use less, and if you have a more tighter curl pattern, or if you have thick or very thick hair, then you would use more.

It dries completely clear, it has the same scent, but it seems to be less strongly scented than I remember. Do I feel that it’s worth buying? Yes. I have hair where I can’t use styling gel on it back to back, because it will start to dry out.

So, I honestly prefer styling creams the most. But, a really good styling cream isn’t easy to come by. But, because this is a more concentrated cream that will last you a pretty good while, then it is definitely more cost effective to invest in, rather than something that you can buy and that will last you 2 weeks or so.

So, overall, I am really glad that I chose to give this new version that’s out a try, because, I’d rather have soft, touchable hair any day over stiff, crunchy, hair any day.

I originally had a love-hate relationship with SheaMoisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie. I think it’s important to know that less is more with this product. Just for reference, I have low porosity 3a/b fine, natural long curly hair.

With other products I’ve been so used to using a ton of product, but when I did this with the curl enhancing smoothie it left my curls weighed down and honestly, tired looking. This product can really build up on your hair if you use too much!!! I started using less product and I started to like it SO MUCH more! So, a little goes a long way!! I usually wet my hair, section it, and rake the product in for best results.

It smells really good and it’s easy to use, but you need to find the right amount that works for YOU. It’s well priced and easy to find at most stores.

This product is one of the more viscous silicone-based hair oils I’ve tried. Because of that, it was a bit challenging to not use too much. You have to rub it into your hands to warm it quite a bit and then be pretty judicious about smoothing it onto your hair, ends only.

If you put on too much, it just looks greasy. Once you get the hang of application, it definitely works as a smoother and frizz reducer. However, after using this for a few days, I got a rash on my neck and shoulders.

That usually happens for me with fragrances. I see that the ingredients say “Fragrance (includes Essential Oils)” — okay so it *includes* essential oils but it also includes something that’s likely not an essential oil, because I’ve never had a reaction to an essential oil before.

There’s nothing inherently wrong with fragrances in my opinion, but I feel like the wording in this ingredient list obfuscates the potential for irritation for people like me who *know* that we have reactions to fragrances.

3 stars still because if you aren’t sensitive to fragrances and if you can figure out how to attain the goldilocks range of how much to apply, you might like it.

I love trying out new curly hair products and sometimes it takes some trial and error to get the right amount or application technique, but I was so happy with the results with this curl defining cream from the first use.

This is definitely one of the best curl defining cream products I have ever used and I have consistently had good results with it. For reference I have fine textured 2C/3A curl pattern hair and I like products that enhance the definition without weighing down my hair too much & sacrificing volume, which I feel this product did well.

I applied it (as I typically do with cream products) on soaking wet hair under gel and diffused it dry. A little goes a long way on my hair type and I used a pea sized amount on two sections with good results.

This product has a pleasant scent that isn’t overpowering. I appreciate that this product is formulated without sulfates, parabens, formaldehydes, formaldehyde-releasing agents, phthalates, mineral oil, etc.

as many of these ingredients are ones that I try to avoid for my curls. I also appreciate that this product comes in recyclable packaging. The price point of this product is higher than I usually pay for similar products but because a little goes a long way and my results were good, I would consider spending this amount on it.

I will continue to use and would recommend to others.

I received this as a sample to try out, and let me say, as a natural curly haired girl I am always looking for a new holy grail curl product. I have tried some of the other Moroccanoil products in the past but this is my personal favorite I’ve tried so far.

My first time testing this product, I applied it by itself after my usual wash and go. After letting my hair air dry, I noticed my curls had great definition and I was immediately excited. I went about my usual schedule and was pleased to see my curls still stayed together throughout the course of my day.

It also made my hair superrr soft which is always a nice addition. Although this product is great for defining your curls, I had to give it 4 stars as I found it was lacking in the hold department and it did not do much to combat additional frizz.

I love when leave-in products put a slight cast over your curls, as I find that helps tremendously for day 2 and day 3 curls. If you prefer a little more hold like me, I would strongly recommend following this up with a styling gel-type of product.

I have gotten so many compliments on days I work this product into my routine. While this curl defining cream is not quite a holy grail leave-in that will replace all of your other products, it is a wonderful addition to your curly hair routine.

I kind of hate how much I ended up liking this product. I’ve been devoutly curly girl method for a few years now, and I actually can’t remember the last time I used heat on my hair. I’m pretty proud of myself, actually.

Even stopped dying my hair! So, in the interest of living that low bar lifestyle, I also don’t want or need to wash my hair often, and my styling routine is kept to a minimum. Nothing complicated, no plopping, no clipping roots.

Just a good gel and a good scrunch and a microfiber towel. Bam, done. So, enter this Moroccan Oil Curl Defining Cream. After I washed and conditioned, then upside-down detangled with a wide-toothed comb and denman brush, I first scrunched in a generous amount of cream.

I honestly probably used too much—I think a smaller amount goes kind of a long way. Which is good, because the price tag isn’t exactly low. After a good scrunching, I sealed it in with Deva Curl gel.

A lot of reviewers used the cream on its own, and I considered doing that, but I figured I would have the best results using both. And I believe I was correct. After scrunching out the excess water and product with my microfiber waffle towel, I could already tell that my hair was looking nicer than usual.

My curls clumped juuust a little bit nicer, the waves just slightly more defined, less frizzy, and somehow more body, even though I air dried. It was a noticeably better-than-usual hair day. And I kinda hate it for a few reasons: (1) it’s not cheap; (2) I’m not jumping at adding an additional step to my low bar routine; (3) I don’t think this is actually a CGM-approved product; and (4) my sample sent for testing was just that—a sample—and I would have loved to have received a full size because I liked it so much! 😭😭💸.

I just want to thank you so much for making these products. I have every product from the fragrance free line including the curly creme and magic serum. You have a customer for life. I bought these products in June, and then for whatever reason this month I felt like trying other products from different brands (because I have curly hair and I was used to constantly trying new products).

A couple weeks into veering away from Seen my dermatitis returned and my nasal passages were miserable. Using Seen earlier this summer actually made me so much better that I actually forgot that I had these problems! Anyways I am back to using only Seen again and not only does my nose feel better and my skin feels and looks better but my hair looks and feels better too! So I will buy whatever fragrance free products you make forever! Thank you for creating this line.

Feeling safe using shampoo and conditioner is something I took for granted until a few years ago when I starting developing allergies to product ingredients (don’t know what ingredients) and to feel this safety again while being in being the shower washing my hair really means something to me.

Seen is so luxurious, I love using the products. (Fyi even the Vanicream line aggrevates my skin) The curly creme is especially amazing. As a curly girl I was miserable putting gel on soaking wet hair and scrunching and then maybe liking the results after waiting forever for my hair to dry.

Now I can use this curly creme as my only styler and I don’t need to use it on soaking wet hair which is a relief for me. I can wet brush the creme through my hair or just use my fingers and the results are always good for me.

My hair air dries in a couple hours, is shiny, has minimal frizz, and has good ringlets too. I think I may have low porosity hair and I love that my hair seems to absorb the creme, and it does not form a greasy film over my hair like other hair product lines.

I recently switched to SEEN Curly Creme, the Deeper Essential Bundle, and the Magic Serum (all Fragrance Free) after an eczema diagnosis, and I want to say that I am so grateful that these products exist! This curl creme does help define my curls and give them nice shape.

At the same time, I am wishing for more moisture from the products, and I would love to have them add a hair gel (I have added one from another brand for more hold, but I expect SEEN would make something that works better).

It took me many years to find products that gave me the moisture my hair needed to avoid frizz; sadly, those products did terrible things to my scalp, neck, and back. The SEEN products are not aggravating my skin issues, but my hair is looking a bit more dry and frizz prone than I had grown accustomed to.

My hope now is that SEEN will come through with maybe a deep moisture leave-in conditioner and hair gel, since I feel like I can trust these products!.

I picked up the travel size as a test drive and quickly realized how amazing it is! I had to get a full size bottle straight away. This whole product line has blown my mind, and especially this cream.

It’s seriously one of the best curl creams I have ever used on my 2C/3A hair. It has great slip and curl definition, and holds curls in place all day (even into day 2 sometimes) without feeling heavy or building up.

I can also skip leave-in conditioner these days, because this hydrates so well. It’s the only styling product I use now, which has made my routine so much easier. And I love that it’s fragrance free! No more headaches or eye irritation for me.

The biggest test recently was winter weather — I had almost no frizz or “poof” even on foggy or rainy days. Game changer!.

I definitely am a fan of this hairspray. I am particular about what I like my hair spray to smell like, especially if my hair will smell like it after using. The fragrance of this hairspray is pleasant, and something I don’t mind smelling like at all.

Goldwell definitely makes amazing high quality products, for a reasonable price. This 8. 7 oz can lasts forever, and costs roughly 15-18 dollars. It gives you brilliant strong flexible hold, no stickiness or crunchy hair.

Anti frizz, protects from humidity. Volumizing, enhances fullness and says it’s color protecting. It holds my hair style all day, all night while giving my hair the feel I want and the movement. I highly reccomend this beauty and will definitely continue using.

I have a straight up afro–which I love–but for the days I want to switch it up a bit and elongate my look, this is my go to product. My curls are real tight at the scalp and seem to loosen up toward the end of the shaft and this product works the same on both textures, tight or loose.

When I use this product, the compliments don’t stop. I use this product with Goldwell’s thermal spray serum. Both products together give me a super straight and silky, glossy look that looks so different from my natural texture that when I use these products in combination, people don’t believe it’s my own hair!.

I have very fine hair, just above shoulder length. This product makes my hair go from wavy to curly and full of body. A little goes a long way, and I use about the size of a 5 cent piece on really wet hair and spread it through.

Once dry, I kind of crunch it a little as it ‘sets’. But it’s not crunch like other products. Highly recommend. Go light first, then work out if you need more product in your hair.

Personally I use this product as an overnight hydrator from time to time to bounce my curls back into reality, especially if I’ve been straightening a lot or if my hair is especially dry. My most recent use I put it on, then wrapped in a bun and slept with it on.

(Cover your pillow with a towel). The next day I washed it out because I had hydrated it heavily with it. Things I loved: curls come back rocking and well hydrated. Things I don’t love: directions say to leave it on and do not rinse.

I disagree with this because of the thickness of the product. Oh and the directions are confusing because they mention a wash and go style but say not to rinse. so a tad confusing. It’s liquidy but thick so leaving it on would look dirty.

My other dislike is just that the smell is okay. I expect for a coconut product it to smell amazing, but it’s sort of just typical smelling. The smell is a 4 out of 5, but compared to some other hair masks, it’s not my first choice.

I really like the Marc Anthony curl products, and this is a new favorite of mine. I have my favorites and still searching for great products, and this is one that I’ve found to make my curls bouncy and keep them hydrated.

I feel like this gives me alittle more hold and definition along with the few other products I use with it. I do prefer my Ouai Curl Creme or Moroccanoil Intense Curl Cream but this is a great affordable option.

Highly recommend.

This is a very light weight cream that smells great and defines curls. However if you want to definition to stay you do have to use a gel and when you add the cream make sure to use a good brush to evenly distribute on hair.

I’ve been using this product for about 2 years now and it has been amazing. When the lawsuit came out about a different brands line having a chemical that has something to do with formaldehyde, I checked everything I use on my hair and it wasn’t in anything.

About 3-4 weeks ago I started a new bottle and have been losing my hair like crazy. I have very thick long curly hair. I’m using the exact same stuff I had been using when I checked months ago and the only thing I had to repurchase was this product (so all of my other bottles stayed the same).

One morning something told me to double check just this product so I did and ofc I find that it had that chemical in it. I stopped using it immediately. I came on here to see if anyone else said anything about it and noticed that the ingredient list is not up for this product.

They also recently changed their packaging. The amount of hair I lost within the last 3-4 weeks is unbelievable. I’ve always been a person who takes really good care of my hair and what I put in it and I was completely blindsided when my hair was falling out in chunks.

I do not recommend this product to anyone.

After Nexus stopped making City Shield products*, I have not found a better product. This Curl Envy Creme CHI Silk Infusion oil are what I use now, after a lot of trial and error. I have thick Irish curly hair, if that helps.

So, after washing my hair, I massage in the Silk Infusion oil first to nourish my hair, then apply some of this Marc Anthony Curl Envy Creme to provide soft curls and define the curls. I find the Creme works a LOT better than Marc Anthony’s Lotion for Curls, and I find the Marc Anthony “conditioner” to be a waste of money.

Using only the CHI Silk Infusion by itself, I still did not get the curl definition that I get with this Marc Anthony Curl Creme, and if I use only the Curl Creme, I don’t get the healthy maintenance of my hair.

So, using both keeps my hair healthy and curls defined. * FYI: Because Nexxus stopped making City Shield products 3 years ago, do not buy from EBay or Amazon, as anything you would buy now are rancid, and greatly expired.

Love using this on my sons hair. He is 8 with hair down his back and biracial. I’ve used it once or twice on me but that was neither here nore there… my hair is past my butt so there’s no point…it helped but not like it should since my hair is so long the weight of it pushes it down to be less wavy/curly and more straight/longer small waves.

Not really much of a scent – I wish it did but I know a lot of people enjoy something a lot more subtle so if you do then this is for you. Pretty sure I got this at Rite Aid for 50 to 75% off. that’s why I grabbed it and one or two other Marc A products to test out since it’s been awhile I’ve tried anything from him in awhile.

Still a great brand and been loving it since a teen. I have yet to try anything from this brand that had been a flop! Wish I had pics of our hair / or could post them. My phones been acting up and will only let me post if I take pics on the spot.

My review is on the Daily cleanse line but since I couldn’t find it, I’m placing my review on this one since they are fairly similar in my opinion. I love the Fairy Tales line of haircare in general.

In my household, at any one given time, I’ve got a handful of their products in rotation. This particular line doesn’t get as much hype as their others but should. The Daily cleanse shampoo is amazing.

It is gentle, yet effective even on the oilest heads. I have three children under the age of 10 that all have different hair types and use this shampoo. It keeps their hair clean, soft and healthy. Pay the extra few bucks compared to other kids shampoos, you won’t be disappointed.

The main ingredient is Cocamidopropyl Betaine according to the label on the bottle. I do not understand why ULTA doesn’t provide photos of the ingredient labels on the packaging, rather than providing incomplete ingredient lists as part of the product description.

3 stars even though Cocamidopropyl Betaine is a common allergen that is in nearly every shampoo on the market, but if you aren’t allergic to it the product may work fine for you. My main gripe is with the inaccurate website description of this and other products that frequently get my hopes up about (purportedly) coconut-free products which I only discover have allergens once they are delivered.

ULTA’s return policy is the only thing that saves them, but it’s still a pain to take the time to go into the store and a disappointment when the product turns out to be different than described.

I’ve used the Fairy tales repel detangling spray but never the shampoos or conditioners. I am so mad I waited this long I bought the curly Q line for my 4 YO who has the most beautiful long super tight curly hair.

I was using baby dove but her curls needed life and I didn’t want to use anything too strong/ as a hairstylist it’s important for my daughter’s hair to look beautiful naturally while helping the integrity of her hair.

I put this on her while shampooing she kept telling me she loved the smell of the shampoo and the conditioner. I washed it off and it lathers beautiful a little goes a long way just add more water to create foam.

I then added the conditioner as I always do I left it on during her bath time bc she loves to sit and play for 20-30 minutes sometimes. After washing the conditioner off I let her hair air fry and let me tell you her hair had shine without me needing to add the hair serums I normally put to add shine so knowing that just the shampoo and conditioner does that for her I’m using this for life and with my daughter who’s currently in my belly.

Never going to use anything else! I love the repel detangler bc it repels lies not that she’s ever had it but I want to ensure I prevent it the line works amazingly!.

I have 2c, 3a-b curls, and fine hair. I used this along with the day two refresher and it did wonders to my hair! I used to live in a very humid climate and my hair never needed product to help with the curls.

I moved to a slightly lesser humid climate and my hair flattened. I was so sad that my curls just disappeared, until I found this! It has completely revitalized my curls and I feel like myself again! One thing I would note about the product is to learn how it works best for your hair.

The instructions say to put it in after you’ve washed your hair. I did that and it weighed my hair down, didn’t give any curl and made it looked greasy. For me, it works best using it the day after I wash my hair, using it along side Day Two refresher.

That really gave me he bounce and curl I was looking for!.

Stumbled upon this hair crème while searching for a new product that would add some moisture and bounce to my wavy hair. It totally transforms my hair with extra volume and moisture. A little goes a long way and even though it’s a thicker cream it doesn’t weigh my hair down! I usually do this on wet hair after I get done taking a shower and brushing it.

After applying I either air dry or style it and it ends up looking fabulous regardless! 5*s to this drugstore brand!.

Love this curl creme. I have permed hair and I do what I can to make my perm last. I traditionally used Ouidad curl creme. Saw this in Walmart, checked out the reviews and thought I would give it a try.

OH MY GOODNESS!!! Love it!!! Does just as good as my prior creme, if not better! Plus the savings – I get 2. 5 bottles for the price of 1 Ouidad. I will be trying other products.

An amazing product. Been purchasing this product for a while. It does actually helps to prolong hair colour a-bit longer and to reduce colour fading. One of the great things is that Goldwell produce two serums for coloured hair, one for fine and one for thicker hair.

Another great feature is how often you need apply a vial to your hair. Once I get my hair colour touched up at the salon, on my first wash at home will apply a vial. I then wait 22 washes before replying another vial to my hair, so 12 vials lasts a long time to go through.

Excellent light styling product. Doesn’t weigh my hair down and definitely highlights blonde colours. Will definitely keep using this.

I bought this serum as a heat protestant and leve in conditioner, it did not disappointment. It left my hair smelling beautiful, feeling soft and protected. It does not add weight and makes hair combable.

Totally satisfied and will make it a regular.

I love how light, clean, and soft the shampoo makes my hair. At the roots it’s light and fluffy and my scalp doesn’t feel dry. I have fine/thin hair that has to be washed at least every 24 hours or will be stringy and greasy.

I think this is helping my hair last a bit longer than usual, I can go a half a day longer without it showing that it’s dirty. When I use it with my Luseta hemp oil conditioner it looks nice and shiny and not frizzy.

The conditioner on the other hand is leaving my hair dry and tangled. I only put it on the longer parts of my hair, so near the scalp it’s still fine. But this does not smooth over my hair in the shower or feel like it covers the hair no matter how much I put on, it almost makes my hair instantly tangled and doesn’t help me comb through my long hair in the shower to get the shedded hair out.

I end up with dry frizzy hair. It’s shocking to me that this is supposed to be a hydrating conditioner! The air dry cream I just can’t make work for me. Even with just a little it just leaves my hair limp and stringy and still doesn’t de-frizz it.

It’s even stringier if I apply it to dry hair. I highly recommend the shampoo, but the others are a big disappointment. Overall they smell ok. A bit more perfumy than I prefer but not overwhelming, I prefer more natural herbal scents.

I was surprised how these arrived as well, not a big deal but unusual to have brand new product show up looking beat up. One bottle had a dent in it and the air dry cream was kind of smooshed. It was all covered in a fine dust which I think was from the shredded crinkle paper packing.

Luckily everything was properly sealed.

Review on product: To start off, I knew I needed something that hydrates and wanted to get the purple line. However, when I did the quiz, it recommended I get this set (green). When I got the set back in Dec 2021, it came with a free sample size (purple) set.

I am so thankful that happened; will elaborate in a bit. So when the shipment came, I was so excited to get it and did all the steps. The first time I used it I used the free purple set and loved it! The next three times i used the green volumizing set and my hair dried out so terribly.

For some reason the green set dehydrated my hair to the extend I had to chop off a good chunk of my hair. Purple set: This is where the free sample saved me. I remembered the instant change in my hair look and feel after using the free purple set.

My colleagues liked the way my hair looked after using the purple JVN hair set (including the air dry cream). Air dry cream: my mom doesnt use any post wash products but have been using my air dry cream and loves it.

it definitally defines our curls and is easy to manage. looks hydrating and bouncy pre was scalp: if you have sensitive scalp please be careful or wash your hair often. From the time i started using this product, my scalp has been irritated.

i used some other oil and it helped. Post wash shine(not in this list): i dont see much difference but use it in between washes to attempt to shine it. Fragrance: The fragrance is great and loved the smell of all of the products.

I hope they start producing fragrant free options though. Saving grace: the (free) purple set saved my hair and I didnt give up on this product but chose what is best for my hair. i did buy the purple set to help my hair and love it.

The big hair energy system has given so much life back to my hair! Everything is just fantastic! The bottles are super cute (not to mention recyclable)! The scent is amazing and not overpowering but I get so many compliments on how good my hair smells.

I normally have super frizzy hair that’s in between straight/wavy but is very fine. I’m used to having super thick heavy conditioner and was worried since this is for volume it wouldn’t be hydrating enough.

But let me tell you, it is so so moisturizing and rich! I love it! The pre shampoo oil I use every week when I really want to feel luxurious and that is so nice. And OMG the serum and air dry cream are so fantastic! They really tame my frizz and make my hair so soft! I seriously annoy my husband asking him to touch my hair all the time lol.

I used to use just regular drug store shampoo/conditioner that would dry out my hair but believe me when I say my hair has never looked or felt better! I have recommended the products to everyone I know and have purchased kits for my mother and sister as well! My only wish is for there to be refill packs for the shampoo and conditioner so I don’t have to keep accumulating bottles but overall 10/10 rating!.

So this breaks my heart to write this review, because I used to be a die-hard DevaCurl fan. Having fine S-waves myself, the low-poo cleanser and conditioner were God-sent. The formula must have changed, because a few years ago, it gave my hair fairly good results with good hydration and nourishment of my waves.

After years of trying a different line, I returned to DevaCurl at the end of last year thinking I’d go back to something tried and true. I was wrong. I started noticing significant hair fall after going back to using the low-poo cleanser.

Now for full transparency I will say at that time I had temporary telogen effluvium as a medication side effect so my hair fall was understandable, however, the low-poo made things significantly worse.

It wasn’t until I stopped it completely that my hair stopped falling in clumps. I heard there was a recall on one of their cleansers due to customers complaining of hair loss, so maybe this was just a temporary issue.

For now though, I am sadly staying away.

I wanted to love this, I really did. However, I have tried to use it multiple times, only to have flaky dandruff yet oily roots as soon as my hair begins to dry. I’ve tried multiple methods (scrub in, rinse out—let it soak—wash it out immediately—use a little—use a lot) but no matter what, the results are the still the same.

And on top of that, I find it leaves my hair straw like and just…not my normal silky hair. I’ve tried it with the conditioner and without—it doesnt matter. It didn’t even make natural wavy hair any more wavy or define the pattern—instead I find it actually removed the pattern more than anything.

EDIT—oh yeh! I forgot to add: while it has no lather and is supposed to be weight-less, I found it was nearly impossible to rinse out. It feels slippery and oily. I thoroughly rinse my hair and spend even longer rinsing it while using this shampoo and yet it still feels like I didn’t get it all.

So yeh. Sorry, y’all, but this one isn’t the one.

Covid-19 shut down so many salons and I like so many others was struggling with my hair. It was so long my roots where all grown out and I felt like I didn’t even want to look in the mirror or leave my house.

I have been buying purple shampoos color depositing conditioners and blonde hair masks like crazy over the last 18 months. Nothing was doing much for me however. So when I saw that DevaCurl No-Poo Blue was one of my choices I was so excited.

I have super blond hair so first I did a little research to insure that blue would work for me since blondes are typically supposed to use purple to get the brass out. After reading lots of reviews and info about the product itself, I concluded that as long as I was carful about the amount of time I left it in my hair I would be ok.

I use this product about 2 times a week at the most and after the very first time i could see a major difference. It brightening my brassy roots right up, my sister even noticed it and begged me to let her try it too.

Her natural color is about 2 shades darker then mine and this stuff seemed to do wonders on her hair. This product not only gives amazing end results, but the entire process is enjoyable it’s easy and quick to use I just wet my hair on no shampoo days and apply a liberal amount of product from roots to ends.

It smells lovely while using and doesn’t take long. After 3-4 minutes I simply rinse it out, sometimes I put a small amount of a hair mask on my ends while I have the devs curl product in ( just if my hair is feeling especially dry.

) I rinse the product out and it always feels clean and conditioned. I really like this product and will definitely keep it in my routine for a long time. If you want to get rid of brass fast try the DevaCurl No-Poo Blue its amazing.
