20 Best Facial Cleanser For Black Men (2023 Updated)

I love the Jack Black bran of products, and the Face Buff Energizing Scrub does not disappoint. It’s a well priced scrub, however the formula has changed at least once making the scrub harsher. Having an option for either a course or fine scrub would be a great improvement.

With that said this is the only scrub that will scrub through my beard, while leaving my face feeling moisturized. I will definitely continue to buy this scrub as my go-to.

It is great for what it advertises. Keeps my oily skin under control and does a deep cleanse with minimal effort. Using it regularly has even reduced the sizes of my blackheads in in areas! The added feature of the face mask option helps it go that extra mile.

I would recommend the face buff as an exfoliate once a week to keep the healthy epidermis cells appearance without any excess build up of dead skin cells.

I’ve been using this product since 2005 or 2006. When I started it was about $3/tube. Over the years, price went up like everything else. Didn’t mind too bad at 5/tube before COVID. Then at 8/tube during COVID was a little upset.

Now, somehow in a post COVID disaster, I can’t find it on store shelves. And when I find it available from sellers online, it appears to be $20+/tube. What’s going on? I have half a tube left and am getting ready to go buy some competitor face washes to start comparing.

My husband, myself, and our two teens use this. it’s the best hands down! Not only do we know our skin is getting a healthy yet gentle clean from it, but we feel fresh and clean afterwards form its invigoration, too! That “minty tingle” (I’ll call it) is what made me and my teen daughter switch to my husband’s product.

Use to buy at Walmart and Taget and tried 3 different stores today and couldn’t find it. Please don’t discontinue it ever.

I was using another face wash that is now discontinued. I have always respected Neutrogena and felt I would try their face wash. I was very impressed, especially with the scent. I use it nightly before I shave, and it has worked out well.

I could have saved a few cents buying it online from another vendor, but chose to order it directly from Neutrogena.

I had previously purchased other products from Menscience and absolutely loved them, so I figured the face wash would be a sure bet. And don’t get me wrong, it does live up to its reputation in offering a good cleansing of the skin and removal of any residue.

The issue I have is the scent that is quite similar to. sex gel. I don’t know if anyone else has found this to be true, but I tell you : every time I bring it close to my face I shudder for a second at the thought of having possibly “taken the wrong bottle”.

Nice face wash, it def works well. Only need a very small amount. It’s a tiny bit drying but not overly where you’ll get dried out. It’s thick and it’s easy to only have a small amount come out from bottle as it’s not a “runny” texture.

Happy with the purchase & would rebuy.

Been using the menscience daily wash now for four months. I have to say I’m disappointed. The product claims to clear skin pore deep and combats blackheads. Now what I have noticed is my blackheads are still there and also my pores are getting larger.

Blemishes take a while to go away. Can anyone recommend a different face wash? I previously used anthony logistics acne wash. Which now has vanished!.

I’ve been using this EXACT face wash for over 6 years and it’s still my literal favorite. Every friend I’ve had come over tries it and they fall in love too. I only use a pea size amount and it foams up great and cleanses my whole face.

I’ve never had a cleanser that left my face feeling clean. Not tight. Like legitimately just clean. It’s my go to product and I use it almost every night. I’ve reached a point in my skin care routine where depending on what my activity level was that day or if I wore makeup, I won’t need to wash.

Highly highly recommend. If you’re from the US you can find these in chinatowns, amazon, yamibuy, and ebay. It is more expensive on amazon. Nowadays, I order two bottles at a time with a bunch of friends so we can get the cheaper ones from other retailers and split the shipping costs.

I love Shiseido and their skincare line so much. This face wash is so gentle and perfect for my dry, sensitive skin. I have been using this for almost two years now and really love the squeaky clean feeling after using this.

I highly recommend this to anyone who double cleanses, this is perfect as a second wash as you really feel your skin is clean.

I’m glad I did. This stuff leaves my face feeling super clean and tingly. I also use the glycolic face wash and the body scrub. All great products.

This product is amazing! It foams up just slightly between your hands for you to rub all over your face. My skin feels so clean and soft after washing with this. It also helps to soften my stubble too.

My husband’s been using this cleanser for over a year now and he loves it. I’ve tried getting him so many different cleansers and this has definitely been his favorite. Nice foaming cleanser with micro beads that lightly exfoliate, and not overly drying.

But don’t expect a very intense scrub, cause this ain’t it. I know a lot of men like that really hard scrub feeling lol.

I love, love, love, love this stuff. After years of bouncing around from skin care to skin care I came across this. This is what got me into Kiehl’s and it’s what is keeping me here. I have never experienced a cleanser that leaves my face as fresh as this.

I spent two years with Clinique and not once did I experience anything near this quality of cleanliness. I’ve used every drug store brand and other expensive brands and was on the verge of breaking down and going to Proactiv.

I say breaking down because I don’t relish the idea being locked into acne medication, because I get sporadic break outs and don’t necessarily want to be locked into to all those harsh chemicals on my face.

I also had my doubts it would work because Clinique acne line did absolutely nothing. Men’s skin is just thicker and oiler and so many times things on the market are made for women’s faces and it’s as if “men can use it too!” is an afterthought.

This product is truly amazing. I use it in the shower every morning and it lathers with a very small amount – about a nickel. The exfoliating agents in it mild and won’t cut up your face like other exfoliates.

I learned a while back that if you exfoliate daily with harsh products it actually can cause micro cuts and infections on your face leading to acne. This isn’t harsh and doesn’t leave me skin raw but it leaves absolutely 100% pure like I’ve never felt before.

Another reviewer mentioned it didn’t wash off and it was like jelly. If you use too much of it I can see that being true. We all know, also that cleansing at a sink is a pain compared to doing it in the shower and this rinses off super easy in the shower without any residue left behind.

I don’t use in the evening when I use the Blue Herbal line instead so I can’t really speak to using it at a sink, but it comes off super easily in the shower. The smell is AMAZING. I have used many a cleanser with questionable smell but I think this may hands down be the best.

It even smells better than the Facial Fuel line in my humble opinion. I use all three items in the oil eliminator line – even the sadly neglected toner. The toner and moisturizer do work for me and I know other people have skin like mine: oil prone and oily.

It took my skin about a week to adjust, it actually produced more oil for that first week, but soon it adapted it and I can pretty much go all working day without worrying about oil. That’s amazing and that in itself is an accomplishment.

I bought this cleanse along with the Sukin Naturals For Men Facial Moisturiser for my husband. He just used to use body wash to clean his face. And he always complain this face is either dry or too oily, so I saw this range on sale and decided to splurge.

He has been loving this cleanser. He has oily skin and this effectively gets rid of the dirt and extra oiliness leaving his skin hydrated yet super clean. No more breakouts or crazy oily skin. Smells great and the bottle is gorgeous.

This product is amazing and when I ran out of mine I used his haha. It smells lovely like all sukin products and feels lovely on the skin. Sitting in the shower caddy makes it an easy to reach and use product for him without having to spend time on a facial regime that is off-putting to many men.

He can just pump and wash his face as easily as he would body wash. He’s feeling alot less dried out and less breakouts too.

I bought this product for my husband and whilst it is a great product, I am extremely disappointed with a company that I usually love giving the mens product a larger size and a much cheaper price per ml.

How about you stop with the Pink Tax Sukin?! Give the other cleansers the same size and price tag that you give the boys!.

The dispenser wouldn’t open. I tried everything to spin it around but that basically rendered it useless. I had another bottle of similar jack black but you changed the bottle and the new dispenser was too big for the old bottle.

Also, the smell is a little strong but that’s just a personal preference. Would have rated it a 4 otherwise. I love the pure clean face wash and the all over wash.

This has been my daily body/face/hair wash for about 8 years now. Every now and then I try a different body wash but keeping coming back to this one. It’s the perfect balance of cleaning power and moisturizing power.

I find most body washes either too weak to clean properly or too strong which dries out my skin. Also, the scent is the best; no other body wash in my opinion smells as good as this one. I also followup my shower with the matching body spray.

I love this body wash because it’s masculine and luxurious at the same time. The scent is fresh and leaves you without the need for cologne but is not overpowering. Great gift idea also. This is easily my favorite Jack Black product.

Great for oily skin. I use it in tandem with their toner and find my skin gets less shiny throughout the day. Doesn’t over dry skin either.

Bought this cleanser in June 2018 and have been using consistently for the past 4mths. I have sensitive skin. A bit oily too. The cleanser doesn’t foam but does leave my skin feeling super cleansed. The low dose acid is really good on my slightly ageing and oily skin plus the aloe and chamomile helps to ease my skins redness.

I’ve noticed over the mths that breakouts are almost non existent. Skin feels so smooth and I put that down to being cleansed thoroughly on every wash plus the exfoliating properties of the acid. The redness after watching has reduced significantly and my oiliness is more manageable.

Still there but that’s me I guess. Overall a fantastic product that is still going. October now and I’d say about 35-40% left so super good value and defo the real deal. Do your homework on glycolic and get the cleanser.

It’s a product that I would never have tried on my own. I’m a pretty basic kind of guy. However, this was given to me many years ago, and upon trying it, I was impressed. I love that it doesn’t take much to use.

I love that it doesn’t suds up like soap, and that it rinses easily. I don’t have to keep rinsing like I do with soap until the slickness goes away. And it leaves my face very clean without drying like soap.

Ever been plagued by persistent spots around the bottom of the nose that makes it light up like a clown’s? Well, I think I might just have found the cure. My stubborn male pride prevented me from trying a few ladies creams and lotions, so imagine my relief at spotting Joe’s pic staring back at me from the bottle.

He looks a real he-man type: square-jawed, the type of chin that could crack open walnuts with ease. Love the black bottle – no sissy colours to tempt the womenfolk into pinching a bit. What surprised me was the richness of the liquid soap – just one titchy ejaculation from Joe’s pump-action bottle was enough to treat my crimson snout, with ample leftovers to cover my pockmarked cheeks and 5 o’clock shadow.

and if that wasn’t enough, the fragrance isn’t strong just pleasant, so any fears my macho image would be compromised were groundless. And yes, my nose now has a natural flesh hue! So if, like me, you’re old school and think that anything but good old carbolic is an insult to your masculinity, then take a quick glance at hard-man Joe’s boat race and take courage – I’m glad I did.

The product is really nice. You only need a small amount and it lathers nicely in your hands. It also smells great! However the packaging really lets it down. On the website it had a pump in the picture, but I received it with a small hole in the lid.

This quickly gets clogged up and makes it difficult to use.

Fun Fact: Gnarly Joe’s Surname is Kipling. Grandson of Mr Kipling, British Cake Empire Owner. Also related to Aunt Bessie, of Yorkshire Pudding fame. What I can say with absolute certainty though is that this is superb face wash.

It gets rid of grease and oil on your skin, and it doesn’t have any artificial ingredients, none. Having a manly clean face does make you more attractive to the opposite sex, they really should put that on the label too.

Ps, yes you do need moisturiser afterwards, that’s just good skin care. In all seriousness. investing in your self by using something that is not loaded with artificial chemicals is money very well spent.

And in truth, it looks like it’ll last as long as 3 ‘normal’ face wash products. (I’ve had it about a fortnight so far).
