20 Best Face Wipes For Oily Skin (2023 Updated)

I’ve tried a few of the smaller packages before with the other “flavors” such as the grapefruit, cotton, & peach. I just tried the ‘Sensitive Skin – Aloe Vera’ wipes after about 5hrs wearing makeup and I didn’t want to go for Nuetrogena like usual since my face would often be irritated afterwards.

Checking the reviews after my experience I’m surprised to see all the irritation comments!! The towelettes I bought did come with the cotton fibers, and weren’t very thick or wet, but they also removed the layers of makeup I had on with my first wipe, and it didn’t make my face red or warm afterwards.

I used about 3 to take off the majority, and my face didn’t feel uncomfortable even when removing makeup around my eyes. Compared to the citrus options, I truly felt a difference. If you like using wipes to remove mascara and eye liner this works well, but I would still use a facial cleanser afterwards, unless you wanna use another wipe, because the first few I used really did remove it nicely, and I can hardly see the excess darkness around my eyes from the dark makeup! I’m also satisfied that my eyes aren’t irritated or blurry like they would be with a soggy wipe.

A few people mentioned the smell as well, but it isn’t strong. It’s there but it doesn’t evade off the wipe, and you don’t smell it off your face or anything. IMO! Anyways, my skin feels refreshing, but I would still use my cleanser after because I still don’t have complete trust in wipes yet.

I’m really happy that my bare face was revealed quickly with these though, and they don’t carry so many chemicals!! Definitely better than the fruit ones and even compared to the cotton extract wipes I’m still leaning towards these! Great price if you buy from larger department stores rather than pharmacies… $6 for a 30pk is cool with me!.

I am all about sustainability, so I was happy to try these wipes when my usual go-to was out of stock. The first thing I want to mention is, yes, there are brown flecks and black spots on these wipes because they are made from recycled Tshirts.

I wasn’t expecting this, but I also didn’t see the notice in the side of the packaging. This isn’t a big deal to me but, it was …off putting when accompanied by the smell of these wipes. The smell is truly bad.

Kind of sour. Not something I want to put on my face. Also, I wear water proof make up and these towelettes aren’t designed for that. They don’t do a great job and I have to use two sometimes, and I don’t usually do a full face, just my eyes and brows.

But they do make my face feel incredibly soft and I would say this is a good product for sensitive skin. Honestly, I would probably keep using these if it weren’t for the truly awful smell.

[brand:burts-bees] facial wipes! I am a huge fan of Burt’s Bees products. I bought these at target for $4. 99 not a bad price! They have many different kinds: cucumber and sage, white tea, pink grapefruit, senstive with aloe, micellar water, and miceller with rose.

I would love to try them all! I bought the cotton senstive wipes because I have very sensitive skin and eczema. These are 98. 5% repurposed cotton and they are accepted by the NEA (national eczema association).

These are the best acne wipes! My teenage daughter has tried a ton and says these work like nothing else. And on sale, they are a bargain; she cuts them in half to make them last longer. Definitely will be continuing to buy these.

These wipes are amazing! They thoroughly remove my makeup, cleanse and treat my skin all at once. A game changer for me. This is a must for anyone who gets lazy about removing their makeup and cleansing their skin after a long day at the office.

The original “Oily to Normal” Grapefruit formulation is replaced by “Clarifying”. I am subscribed on Amazon to get these towelettes every other month for years. Suddenly I’m sent the new Pink Grapefruit “Clarifying” formula instead that smell horrible compared to the original “Normal to Oily skin” you see in the image so I send back for a refund.

After the Amazon fail – I try Walmart. Exact same thing, I order what the image shows, “Oily to Normal” but get the other “Clarifying” formulation. Started to think my favorite favorite wipes in the World are literally being reformulated by something not pleasant.

So I send those back to Walmart for a refund. Next, I arrive here at Burt’s Bee’s website. Here I can see both “the pink Grapefruit “oily to normal skin” formula and the god awful “Clarifying”. I’m Super relieved and happy that I found them here, and ordered the correct one.

Thinking you must carry both since they are featured on your site. Again!!…. That’s right —- The Clarifying came in after I specifically ordered the original pink Grapefruit “Oily to Normal” skin towelettes.

I contact Burt’s Bee’s and given a refund but no word on if it has discontinued. Absolutely frustrated, but more so really really sad and bummed that my favorite family facial wipes are either discontinued or replaced.

There’s a lot of nostalgia to the wonderful sweet and refreshing smell of these wipes as my whole family used them. Burt’s Bee’s: Please bring the original back!!.

And then you changed the formula. At first I thought it was just a stocking change at my local store, so I came here to buy them only to discover they are gone. The new “Clarifying” wipes are awful. Hate the smell of them and the little black flecks embedded in the wipes.

My face doesn’t react the same to them either. I agree with so many other reviewers. PLEASE go back to what you had before! It’s so difficult to find a face product that doesn’t make my skin break out, and these were perfect.

Until the old product comes back, I’ll be looking for a new face wipe. Really disappointed.

I am absolutely crushed. I have a feeling these will be discontinued soon. They’ve been out of stock at every retailer I’ve checked across several counties and states, along with all online retailers including Amazon.

These are amazing. I love how clean my skin feels after using. I typically cleanse and do a full routine after using, but on those lazy occasions (or prior to spray tanning or on-the-go) where I cannot cleanse, my skin still felt cleaner than most every other formulae I’ve tried across several brands.

The best part about this formula is that they are OIL-FREE. That was the initial draw for me because I wear lash extensions, which requires an eye makeup remover/wipe with out oil. The packages stay damp for a while and seem to last longer than other brands and formulas.

I will be heartbroken if these are discontinued, so cross your fingers in the meantime. I want you to be able to try them too! Let Neutrogena know WE WANT THESE BACK!!.

After many blessed yrs of having pretty clear skin with very few “issues” when I was younger, as soon as I hit about 35 – I noticed my skin starting to change, similar to when my parents began suffering from these lovely conditions lol : Rosacea (my Mom’s – who is 100% Irish) and adult acne (my father – predominantly German/ a little Irish, in case you were curious though I know several ethnicities suffer from acne problems).

FYI : I have combination skin; my T Zone gets super oily (esp during the Summer). I also suffer from dry skin at times (the area can vary but sometimes also in my T Zone, which is weird but true too).

To make matters even more fun, I live in the Midwest (Ohio) where the weather is constantly changing so I’m often having to switch up my skincare routine, based on whatever weather scenario of the day is happening – so, that adds a ton of fun to things too.

:-/ Tips for use: Be gentle when using these wipes; do not use too close to your eyes and definitely don’t “scrub”. Personally, if I’ve worn a lot of make-up that day; I’ll use either a 1/2 or full Neutrogena make-up remover wipe (to get all the “stay put” stuff off) first, *then* I’ll use a 1/2 of 1 of these Grapefruit wipes.

A few, minor “2 cent”/constructive criticism pts: I understand and agree where others have commented about the smell of this product. While the initial grapefruit scent is *amazing*- I noticed as soon as I went to use the wipes on my face, that the scent “changed” and started smelling more chemical-based? (is the best way I can describe it.

If there’s anything that can be done about that in future development – it would make these wipes even better! After trying countless products under the sun, including very gentle ones with “no perfumes/dyes” etc.

I found these wipes to be the best (for me) so far, out of all of them – they have truly been a God-send and I am **praying** they never get discontinued! I have noticed a significant difference in my skin/complexion since using these wipes and I could NOT be happier.

I bought these for my daughter who has sensitive skin. I thought I was buying the oil-free version that she had used for years. She has no acne. One wipe on her face and she was in tears. her skin was stinging and her eyes were watering.

That was a week ago. No make or any type of lotion on her face since. Everything stings. Today she showed me the bright red spots in the same area that she used the wipes. Her forehead, where she also used the wipes has been peeling.

She has a chemical burn from this product. If it doesn’t clear up in two days I will have to take her to the dermatologist for professional treatment. I bought 4 packs by mistake and have since thrown them all away.

So much for a gentle product. Never again.

Everyone in my family likes these—I just wish they didn’t cost as much because we go thru a lot! I originally purchased for tween daughter who has oilier skin and was starting to have breakouts. She is not as good about just washing her face with products at the sink, so at least this is something! She’s an athlete and throws a pack in her gym bag as well and I really think they help.

I try to stick to natural skincare products because I have really sensitive skin and hate highly fragranced things. My skin is dry with the occasional breakout and these work just fine for me too! As for the smell—honestly these do have kind of a weird smell but none of us really mind it.

I can understand why some people might not enjoy using them for that reason. More importantly they make our skin feel nice and clean but don’t at all sting or anything. And try the bar soap of this line—literally the best!.

(’22)IC: Influensters Recommended that I Review: I tried the bar soap for SheaMoisture brand and saw the wipes. This brand is steadily evolving. These wipes have tea tree oil and calendula; the wipes helped to take off everyday dirt that collects on your skin from makeup and anything else.

These wipes are designed for usage without rinsing or towel drying. SheaMoisture brand to me was an added bonus to find helping balance oily skin. I would recommend it to anyone.

First of all, I love the scent of these wipes. They have a nice and soft floral scent but it is not at all overwhelming. The wipes themselves are a little thin, but that’s probably because they are biodegradable.

They also aren’t super moist, but I wouldn’t necessarily say that they are dry. I just don’t see a lot of excess moisture/product on each wipe. When using this wipe i was able to take off my full face of makeup with 1 wipe, while leaving a little mascara residue on my eyes.

I think I would likely have to use 2 wipes to fully remove all traces of makeup from my skin. But since I always wash my face after using makeup wipes, 1 wipe was enough. They feel really nice on the skin and don’t leave any dry or tight feeling afterwards.

They also don’t leave any sort of residue on my skin which is a plus for me, especially if I didn’t want to wash my face afterwards. The packaging is nice and after opening a few times the stickiness is still good and hasn’t lost its grip.

I’ve only use these makeup wipes a few times since I am not currently using makeup daily, so I cannot tell if they are in fact balancing or clarifying. But overall they do feel nice and do a decent job at removing my makeup.

I received these products for free from Influenster and Simple in exchange for my honest review. I was excited to receive a makeup wipe because it had just run out! And friends, the wipes are eco-friendly! They are soft, non-fragrant, and standard in size.

Its stretchy if you tug on it a bit and it doesn’t tear. The resealable package actually reseals, which is a plus. The package advertised the removal of waterproof mascara, which is pretty tough, but it only did ok with the removal of my standard mascara.

It got majority of it but the next morning I still had a slight raccoon shadow under my bottom lash line. I also used them in the evening of a non-makeup day before my night skincare routine and my face felt really clean and refreshed after use.

I used to LOVE these. They have been changed completely for the worse. They are so bad I actually thought I had been sent imposter wipes, but when I got on the Target website, I saw so many other people have had the same issues with the “improved” wipes.

To begin with, it amazes me they continue to sell these as “unscented” when they smell like the lemon hand wipes you get in barbeque restaurants. They are also smaller. Oh, and they make your face burn.

Unfortunately I have been such a regular user that I purchased multiple packs, which will now all go in the trash.

I used to love these, but now I don’t use them anymore because the last few I bought either were dried out or burned the heck out of my face. I have acne prone skin and loved that these didn’t irritate my skin or break me out.

Now I don’t buy them anymore and opt for the large bottle of just the liquid and make my own wipes. I buy the intrinsics silken wipes and soak them. I can make SO many wipes this way. Also these wipes have practically doubled in price since Nov 2021, so yea.

I have sensitive skin and couldn’t find my usual facial wipe in store, so I thought I’d give these a try. I have sensitive skin and many previous brands hurt my face and cause irritation. Now this wipe was average for a makeup-less day, but it was AWFUL for makeup removal.

It had a few issues: – It really just didn’t remove makeup very well. It took 6 wipes to get most makeup removed, but I still have some leftover lipstick stuck to my lips and mascara in my eyelashes.

– Due to not working well and requiring multiple wipes and passes over the skin, it began to make my skin hurt worse than some other brands have in the past, which defeated the purpose of being gentle on sensitive skin.

– This was the first brand I tried that had aloe vera in it, but it left my skin with an awful sticky residue! Hoping it is a healthy, beneficial, aloe-y sticky residue. but definitely not the most comfortable or clean feeling.

I’ve liked other Burt’s Bees products in the past, so this was disappointing for me. Didnt work that well AND still ended up hurting my sensitive skin. 🙁 I never write reviews, but went out of my way to write this.

I like that I don’t have to rinse my face after using these. I used to have a subscription for these, which mysteriously stopped, maybe when they changed their formula for the wipes? It used to focus on cotton extract, and had a light moisturizing effect.

Now the focus is on aloe, but without an added moisturizer. Not sure which is better. The smell changed with the formula change. But it’s the easiest way I can get my guy to freshen up after hunting or when motorcycling.

I keep a pack of these tucked inside one of the saddlebags or in the glove compartment of our truck.

Rooted Beauty wipes for sensitive skin came as a free gift in one of my Grove purchases and now, I’LL NEVER GO BACK!!! They’re so moist that they foam and the fragrance, even for sensitive skin, is so clean and light.

This wipe washes skin and gently swipes away dirt and make up like magic. Never any pulling or tugging, even with long last lipsticks and waterproof mascaras. One wipe takes care of a full face of make up every time.

I follow with toner or essence and NOTHING ever comes off on my little bamboo rounds! Leaves your face soft and hydrated, never tight or dry. You have to try them!.

Great for busy Mom’s mornings! The MAIN USE of these for me is, eye make-up remover. I have tried so many other brands in a pinch when mine ran out and waiting for the next order, HOWEVER, this sensitive skin formula is the best one out of every other brand I have tried.

I hold one over both eyes folded up in a long strip, to prevent drying out before you cleanse your whole face, for about 20 seconds to help release the mascara and eyeliner then gently pat around the eye area.

I then follow-up with a cleanser for any residual make-up left behind in my lashes. These are my #1 choice for eye make-up removal and morning cleanser replacement for a get ready quick when you work at 5:30 am! :beaming_face_with_smiling_eyes:

These wipes are good. They don’t irritate or dry out my skin, remove makeup well. But I will not purchase again due to packaging. It’s awful. You can never get out a single wipe, and you have to use maximum effort in order to get them out.

Which is not what you want to do at the end of your day. Closing the package? Good luck. It is like that frustrating ziplock bag that you just can’t line up right…. Why have humans relied on wipes for decades and they still have the worst packaging out there??? I don’t understand.

I suffer from facial hyperhidrosis and since moving from MI to FL, my skin has been horrific. I’m on a journey to take better care of my skin (better late than never right🤷🏽‍♀️🙄) and was told I should consider getting a facial wipes to help combate my sweating thought the day.

I really like these wipes as its a quick refresher but my face also doesn’t feel dried out. The smell is pleasant as well. 30 in the pack is a good value for the price ($5. 99 I believe @ Target).

I’m happy I had the opportunity to test this product from Influenster. It’s so hard to choose a makeup removing face wipe because there as so many out there. The packaging is like almost all the others, what I would like to see is a packaging similar to baby wipes, where they have that plastic top to keep them fresh instead of the plastic.

This product was nice as it doesn’t hurt my eyes when scrubbing my makeup off. With others I have found that the ingredients they use often irritate my eyes, and I was happy when this one did not give me that almost stinging feeling.

It took off the majority of my mascara, but it was difficult to get all of it off, especially at the base of my lashes. I do have sensitive skin, so when I used them the first few times they left my cheeks red and slightly irritated.

Nothing too serious, but it has gotten better after a few uses. They’re not over moist which is nice, and I don’t find myself having to force extra wipes back into the package when I take one out. Overall, I think they did a great job, but I personally don’t see myself purchasing these after I finish them.

What I’m trying to say is that I haven’t worn makeup to due to these unfortunate circumstances my first impression of the Shea Moisture African Black Soap Clarifying Facial Wipes, the scent was captivating.

Not at all harsh just simply refreshing. A wonderful scent of African Black Soap, tea tree oil calendula. I have an combo skin so dry and oil depending the season. Definitely recommend these wipes if you have oily skin.

These are a little on the expensive side but they work so well. They have an unusual smell but I don’t think it’s bad. My daughter had her hair dyed teal and when she put on her band uniform one day, her hair was wet so a little bit of teal ended up on the white part of the jacket.

We freaked out! I didn’t have anything else on me besides a couple of these that I leave in my car. As a last resort, I used one and it got almost all of the color out of the fabric and off of her neck! Any time I dye get hair now, we use these for wiping any dye that ends up on her face or neck after we rinse it out! Like I said, I keep a few in my car for when it’s hot out and my face feels greasy or sweaty.

They just give me a fresh, clean feel when I can’t actually wash my face.

I think these wipes are super handy because they’re individually wrapped; they get dirt off really well! Like, really well. They feel a little more dry than I had hoped for as I said before, I enjoy using them however they are not as moist as I would have liked.

If it had perhaps hylaronic acid in the mix would it help? Something so it’s more gentle. They really do work though at removing dirt or whatever, from the skin, I even use them on my feet sometimes.

First off, I have very sensitive/reactive skin so it takes I know right away if it likes a product or not. I have been looking for a good cleansing wipe this summer because we take camping trips frequently.

With this being a 4 in one wipe, that means I don’t have to also carry a moisturizer with me as well! First impressions, I like how big the wipe is and love the fresh scent! I was able to get all the dirt and makeup off of my face using different parts of the wipe so I didn’t spread any bacteria back into my skin.

It was soft and gentle on my skin although I would have preferred some ridges on the cloth to exfoliate a bit more. After using, my skin felt great and didn’t dry out at all! It also felt clean, not greasy or like there was a film like other wipes leave.

After 2 consecutive nights using them, my skin has zero redness or breakouts! I will definetly buy these to keep on hand when I can’t find a sink to wash my face!.

he wipes did feel very wet when I used them on my face. They are loaded with moisture and they take off each and everything from my face in just one go. It took away all the excess oil and sebum from my face which revealed the actual glow of my face.

It took away all the dirt from my face which I could actually see on the wipe itself. It also got me rid of all the make-up be it water-proof or not in a single go. It might take jut 2 gentle swipes to remove the eye make-up.

It left my face squeaky clean and I couldn’t even recognise that I had layers of make-up on! Coming to mattifying my skin, yes it does mattify my skin but not forever. It just keeps the oil at bay for a several hours that’s it.

But overall, I have absolutely no complaints regarding these wipes.

I have always struggled with finding ONE single cleansing product that I could use on the go during the day, as well as to remove my makeup residue before showering so I could proceed with my nightly facial routine.

I have always had to have one product for on the go and then a separate product for facial cleansing, and that was many times very inconvenient. Man sieht auch wirklich frischer aus wenn man es regelmig benutzt. Im Moment reicht mir das Gel als alleinige Pflege, wenn es klter wird werde ich wohl aber noch eine Creme zustzlich benutzen. brigens ist es auch sehr hochwertig verpackt, Umkarton und Spender sind sehr schick.

Gut finde ich auch, dass es in Deutschland hergestellt wird und keine Tierversuche gemacht wurden. Der Preis mit knapp 40 Euro ist leider kein Schnppchen, aber ich komme mit den 50 ml locker 2 Monate aus und es ist wirklich sehr gut und finde von daher seinen Preis wert.

I know, I know. Everyone seems to love to hate these for the past 5+ years, but I’ve found them to be an essential part of my skincare and beauty routine. I’ve used Neutrogena makeup remover wipes on and off since I was in college, and have never experienced any negative side effects from them and always found them to be perfectly adequate at removing every trace of makeup from my face, including whatever mascara or eyeliner I chose to cycle through at the time.

That last bit is important, let me explain. After seeing all of the outcry against the Neutrogena Makeup Remover Wipes, I decided to switch from them and had been using different products from micellar waters to coconut oil based makeup removers to regular oil based removers.

Some of them broke me out, some seemed adequate after several rounds of wiping but still didn’t seem to do the job, but all seemed to require me to scrub at my eyes to actually remove my mascara and “stay all day” eyeliner.

I persisted and thought nothing of it for years. As I got a bit older, and had a child or two, I noticed that I began losing an eyelash or two here and there and that suddenly my lashes weren’t as full, and slowly they got thinner and thinner.

I realized I needed to figure out ASAP what was wrong or I’d have a serious conundrum. After doing some research, I found out that waterproof mascara wasn’t ideal for your lash health, and that scrubbing at your eyes to remove your mascara (even non waterproof) was even less conducive to that beautiful, thick lash look I once had.

I immediately switched to a gentler, buildable mascara (LOVE YOU Lancôme Lash Idole, although I hated you at first… that “buildable” part is key!), and tried to find a gentler way to remove my eye makeup.

I panicked and grabbed my old trusted remover, those blasted Neutrogena Makeup Remover Ultra-Soft Cleansing Towelettes. Annnd I’ve been using them since, I don’t need to scrub at my eyes like I did with any of the previous makeup removing products I tried, one to three swipes over my entire face and it’s done.

No breakouts, no residue, and so important to me: no continued lash loss (although I partly credit that to finding a mascara that worked well for me, the right makeup remover makes such a big difference on how much pulling and stress you put on your lashes.

For starters, the packaging is a simple light blue color with a white pull back tab which represents simple & clean in my opinion. There is a sticker tab that opens and shuts effectively. Some wipes dry out of.

I. If the tab isnt completely shut but these wipes stay nice and moist. When i removed the wipe i felt a strong sturdy wipe which is what i look for in this type of product. I noticed a very slight scent but very pleasant.

The wipe immediately cuts through heavy makeup. I use waterproof eye liner and mascara and full coverage foundation. This wipe effortlessly glides over my eyes and eye lids completely removing makeup and even dirt.

At first i thought the wipe would leave a film feeling on my face but once my face was dry, it literally felt and looked lile i had washed my face. I even feel like my pores look smaller. Oh and lets not forget every wipe ive used in the past BURNS MY EYES!! But not this one! This “nee wipe” is awesome.

Will most definitely purchase!.

Literally every single time I have attempted makeup wipes, they have left my face irritated and tingling/burning. Especially around my eyes. I have used so many different brands so I gave up and just stuck with my Philosophy brand cleanser.

My cleanser is good but not convenient for when I get home from working my long shifts. I spent a hefty amount of time reading the reviews on these wipes (because all other wipes burned my face and eyes) The reviews I read were all very good.

I ordered them, got them today when I finished working my shift at the hospital, went straight to my bathroom and wiped my face using the neutrogena night time wipe, and let me tell you…. holy cow. It melted my makeup off effortlessly, with no scrubbing.

I had ZERO burning and tingling. Not to mention the overwhelming silky smooth feeling it left my face with. Now I’m spending so much time on a review this evening on makeup wipes because they have me so shocked.

I’m officially buying these for life.

I’m a lazy girl when I have to remove my makeup everynight and I don’t like to wet my face so much because my skin is dry. I used most of the time wipes and I wanted to try this Olay wipes because I heard that is a good brand.

They are so good, I love them. They don’t leave my skin with stiffness. They are lightly scented, have a good size to clean all my face, I only use one wipe most of the time to clean up all my face and neck.

They have enough good moisture content. They leave your face feeling fresh and clean, with no lingering after feeling. It leaves my skin clean, shiny and as it dries, tightening. In the morning, I use a cloth before applying anything else on my skin and let it dry for my next step.

Oh gee, where to start. First, they don’t do a good job of removing makeup. I always had to use two and forget about removing eye makeup – just leaves me with panda eyes. Second, my face felt REALLY tight after using these and I don’t have sensitive skin at all.

So that tells me something. All that said, the absolute WORST thing about these wipes is the smell. When they say “rose water” that’s exactly what they mean. It literally smells like you dipped a tissue into a vase holding roses – you can clearly smell stalk, leaves and fallen rose petals, ACTUAL fallen rose petals.

That stuff doesn’t smell good and the smell lingers for a long time. I tried to push through just to use up the pack but I just can’t do it. Back on the hunt for a makeup wipe that fits me.

I love things with rose water included. I took a chance and purchased these instead of my normal makeup remover wipes and I highly regret it. These wipes made my face mildly breakout within hours of using them.

Currently trying to treat my breakouts so they can vanish ASAP with the holidays right there. I don’t pile on a lot of makeup and had to really scrub my face with these trying to clean my face. I’ve never had to do that with any other wipes.

I now just let my daughter play with these. If you have sensitive skin, don’t try these.
