Best Face Wash For Men Oily Skin (2026 Updated)

I’ve been using this product since 2005 or 2006. When I started it was about $3/tube. Over the years, price went up like everything else. Didn’t mind too bad at 5/tube before COVID. Then at 8/tube during COVID was a little upset.

Now, somehow in a post COVID disaster, I can’t find it on store shelves. And when I find it available from sellers online, it appears to be $20+/tube. What’s going on? I have half a tube left and am getting ready to go buy some competitor face washes to start comparing.

My husband, myself, and our two teens use this. it’s the best hands down! Not only do we know our skin is getting a healthy yet gentle clean from it, but we feel fresh and clean afterwards form its invigoration, too! That “minty tingle” (I’ll call it) is what made me and my teen daughter switch to my husband’s product.

Use to buy at Walmart and Taget and tried 3 different stores today and couldn’t find it. Please don’t discontinue it ever.

I was using another face wash that is now discontinued. I have always respected Neutrogena and felt I would try their face wash. I was very impressed, especially with the scent. I use it nightly before I shave, and it has worked out well.

I could have saved a few cents buying it online from another vendor, but chose to order it directly from Neutrogena.

Honestly, it’s pretty important to me to use stuff that are packaged with “MEN” on the label. The simple fact is I’m not likely to keep it on the counter, in the shower or anywhere handy for use– if something looks girly.

I definitely wouldn’t use it in front of my girlfriend or even my friends for that matter. Smell is also very important to me. I am very paranoid I smell like a girl when using “beauty” or grooming skincare products.

I like to use a body wash that has a short lasting “boyfriend just out the shower” smell and hit himself with a few sprays Versace cologue in the AM, done. So, I don’t need my face wash or anything else to give off any conflicting aromas.

So this smell free cleanser is optimal for me. My basic view towards skincare for myself is: I want the best skin possible in the smallest amount of time. I like products and systems that are “all in one” and easy to use.

I don’t need to know what makes them work or how to pronounce every ingredient or even care why I need to wear sunblock everyday. I have no problem with Paula telling me what to do, giving me products that are acceptable for this use and going on about my day! GOOD NEWS: THIS WHOLE LINE HAS WHAT PAULA WANTS YOU TO USE TO KEEP SKIN HEALTHY AND MEETS ALL MY NEEDS FOR PERFORMANCE!!! This product and the entire men’s line is perfect for me.

It’s also nice knowing that more information about the ingredients are easily available on the website if I so choose to want to get into more details. I also like the products are not tested on animals and are environmentally friendly.

Although, those aren’t a deciding selling point for me, it’s the icing on the cake to feel guilt-free about using one brand of products consistantly in the long term. I also like the option that if I do ever wish to do more with my skin that there are other products in the brand I could add without changing my core routine! (For example: spot treatment or booster products) From A-Z, I do not have one single complaint!!! Great job @PaulasChoice and keep it up.

PS: Some guys might want to improve their skin but might feel kind of hesitant to actually make the effort to shop for grooming products. I think this would make a great gift, HINT HINT! Not just bc the products are good but also gives him “approval” to use grooming products if a girl buys them.

I would never buy a girlfriend anything like that bc it could imply unhappiness with her appearance. I don’t think the same attitude would be an issue at all for the reverse situation!.

My husband is not a skincare expert like I am, but he does follow a basic routine. He just turned 40, and I have been with him since he was 30. I have noticed he needs to amp up his skincare game if he wants to keep looking so much younger than he is, but he doesn’t want more than three steps, so I had better make them count.

He already uses the 2%BHA liquid and moisture boost sunscreen and has seen a real difference (his face doesn’t feel oily in the morning and it looks more hydrated and his wrinkles and pores are diminished and it doesn’t feel like sandpaper anymore), so he wanted to try something else.

I had him on the CeraVe foaming cleanser, which he liked, but he LOVES this one, and he doesn’t get excited about things like skincare. I’ve seen such a difference since he has used PC. He wants to age gracefully, but has always looked young and likes that.

I can see an increase in radiance and smoothness, he doesn’t get random breakouts anymore, and it feels softer. Cleanser seems like such an insignificant thing because you rinse it right off, but it really is so important.

I will never get him anything else.

As someone with oily and acne-prone skin, I have used a fair number of cleansers in my time. Frankly speaking, the LAB series runs circles around the Keihl’s facial fuel and Jack Black double duty that I have used in the past.

This is the first cleanser that I have tried that exfoliates and cleans without tearing your skin to shreds or drying it out. It has a nice and thick consistency that suds up when you mix with water in the palm of your hand.

The exfoliating particles are so small that you can feel them working without irriating your skin. The end result is a face that looks clean and youthful. A little goes a long way with this cleanser, I usually go through a tube in 2-3 months with 2x daily use.

The smell is non-obtrusive unlike some of the competition. Ultimately, its very hard to find faults with this product. A little more pricey, yes, but definitely worth the splurge on this versatile cleanser!.

My husbands all time favourite cleanser for oily skin. Won’t use anything else but this! We’ve been using it for years. Foams well and gives a clean but non drying finish. Not irritating.

I have dry and sensitive skin and this cleaner is gentle enough for me to use twice a day, morning and night. I’ve had problems in the past finding a good cleaner that didn’t leave my skin feeling dried out and irritated.

Great foaming action and once I rinse it off, my skin feels clean and fresh feeling. I got a sample of this product, then, went and bought the larger size, because I loved it so much.

I am a female with sensitive skin, and I purchase this product for my husband. Surprise! I have use it more than him and can’t stop buying it. The product comes out of the bottle fast with it’s loose consistency but a lot goes such a long way.

It is very gentle on the skin and suds up very nicely. The best thing about the face wash is washing it off your face. Oh my word your face feel so clean and smooth. No residue, dryness or itchy feel.

Men, my husband loves this produce too. It has truly helped with reducing the ingrown hairs in his beard and leaves it feeling so soft.

The pores on my nose were “Big Daddies” until I started using Every Man Jack’s Face Wash with Activated Charcoal. It is a deep pore cleanser with salicylic acid. This stuff reduced the “Big Daddies” to “Little Babies” in no time.

It is like reverse aging. I almost feel sorry for them. Not really! I love this stuff!.

Finding a suitable skin care product is not easy. I tried this after using quite a few other brands. It doesn’t make my skin feel dry and that is one thing that you want from a daily face wash. I recommend to try it if you have an oily skin like me.

If it works for you, stick with it.

The only problem I have with my skin is that it’s very oily. My pores are naturally very small and my skins not too prone to breaking out unless I’m eating lots of oily food or not drinking enough water.

After the first use I loved this, it left my face matte and helped clear up a couple pimples i had at the time. A few days later however i noticed that my pores had gotten bigger so to give the product a fair chance i stopped using it to see if my pores would shrink again, in case it was a diet thing, and then go back to it.

After about a week I started using the face wash again and not only did my pores get bigger again but, my skin had started to peel, and my skin was much more susceptible to breaking out ( I’ve watched a line of four huge pimples grow on my cheek overnight and my forehead get covered with smaller ones).

This is my second Clinique oil control product that has completely flopped for me and I don’t plan on buying another from them.

I have been using Clinique Men extra strength soap bar since the late 80s. It worked really well for my oily skin type. I used this Clinique liquid oil control face wash product for when I travel until the soap bar discontinued abruptly from 2026.

It is never the same but it does the job. I wish Clinique will bring back the men soap bar.

My husband’s been using this cleanser for over a year now and he loves it. I’ve tried getting him so many different cleansers and this has definitely been his favorite. Nice foaming cleanser with micro beads that lightly exfoliate, and not overly drying.

But don’t expect a very intense scrub, cause this ain’t it. I know a lot of men like that really hard scrub feeling lol.

I love, love, love, love this stuff. After years of bouncing around from skin care to skin care I came across this. This is what got me into Kiehl’s and it’s what is keeping me here. I have never experienced a cleanser that leaves my face as fresh as this.

I spent two years with Clinique and not once did I experience anything near this quality of cleanliness. I’ve used every drug store brand and other expensive brands and was on the verge of breaking down and going to Proactiv.

I say breaking down because I don’t relish the idea being locked into acne medication, because I get sporadic break outs and don’t necessarily want to be locked into to all those harsh chemicals on my face.

I also had my doubts it would work because Clinique acne line did absolutely nothing. Men’s skin is just thicker and oiler and so many times things on the market are made for women’s faces and it’s as if “men can use it too!” is an afterthought.

This product is truly amazing. I use it in the shower every morning and it lathers with a very small amount – about a nickel. The exfoliating agents in it mild and won’t cut up your face like other exfoliates.

I learned a while back that if you exfoliate daily with harsh products it actually can cause micro cuts and infections on your face leading to acne. This isn’t harsh and doesn’t leave me skin raw but it leaves absolutely 100% pure like I’ve never felt before.

Another reviewer mentioned it didn’t wash off and it was like jelly. If you use too much of it I can see that being true. We all know, also that cleansing at a sink is a pain compared to doing it in the shower and this rinses off super easy in the shower without any residue left behind.

I don’t use in the evening when I use the Blue Herbal line instead so I can’t really speak to using it at a sink, but it comes off super easily in the shower. The smell is AMAZING. I have used many a cleanser with questionable smell but I think this may hands down be the best.

It even smells better than the Facial Fuel line in my humble opinion. I use all three items in the oil eliminator line – even the sadly neglected toner. The toner and moisturizer do work for me and I know other people have skin like mine: oil prone and oily.

It took my skin about a week to adjust, it actually produced more oil for that first week, but soon it adapted it and I can pretty much go all working day without worrying about oil. That’s amazing and that in itself is an accomplishment.

I suffer from occasional bouts of acne which other expensive brands have never been able to treat and I haven’t had a single flare-up while using this. Which is amazing because I have stress induced acne and have been going through a career change these past couple months.

Of all of the Kiehl’s products I use—and there are a lot—I consider this the most indispensable part of my skin care regiment, and one of the products that no other competitor has been able to replicate even half-way.

If you have oily skin, try it and give it at least two weeks.

I was recommended to use this along with the ultra facial moisturizer and the oil eliminating facial mist for my combination skin. I do like this product, I just think it might be a little too drying for my skin.

I have extremely dry skin, but then my face still gets oily midday. I’m not entirely sure what to do about my situation, I need to meet with a Keihl’s consultant to see what other options they have. I do like the quality of this product.

My face truly feels cleansed after using it. The mint smell was a little strong for my liking at first, but then I got used to it and now I actually kind of like it. The mist that goes along with this cleanser feels amazing.

I no longer use it because of my dry skin, but it is a great product.

The Cerave foaming facial cleanser is by far one of the best face washes I have used! This face wash is specialized for oil control for normal to oily skin types and a perfect inexpensive addition to your skin care routine.

After seeing various videos on tik tok raving about this product during quarantine I finally caved in and purchased it. What I liked especially was how this cleanser was able to clean and refresh my face while still being gentle.

Previous face cleansers I had used either were too harsh and overly striping or left my face with leftover residue. I began using this product consistently and after a week or so my face began clearing up without the assistance of any other skin care products.

I now have clear skin save for the occasional small breakout, a big feat considering I struggled with acne previously. Additionally, since I have sensitive skin I am always cautious about trying out new facial products, however this cleanser is advertised as non-irritating and lived up to its marketing.

One aspect I believe that can be possibly improved is the packaging. It’s quite simple and doesn’t catch the eye when on shelves. I often have to scan for it since it looks similar to other skin care products.

Overall, I definitely recommend this product. It’s an effective staple for a good skin care routine and dermatologist recommended. I use this product every day and my skin has been looking its best.

Started using this Face Wash when Clinique discontinued their face soap for men, and this one is a very poor substitute. I have fair skin – and this wash leaves my skin feeling burned without really cleaning it.

Wish Clinique would listen to their customers and continue selling their face soap – it was an incredible product. This face wash is just not very good – and I can’t recommend it to others.

The Oil Control Face Wash has been reformulated earlier on in 2026 — one of the biggest differences is that the ingredient menthol has been removed. This can be confirmed in the updated ingredient listing for this product as well as speaking directly with a Clinique representative both online and in their New York offices — which is exactly what I did in November of 2026.

While I’m in favor of removing menthol, Clinique is still sending out the older versions of this item with that ingredient in it. My most recent order confirms this as well. I’m quite anxious to try this updated version and after calling Clinique directly, as well as several Clinique counters, nobody has a clue as to when the updated version will actually be the one a customer receives when placing an order.

Really, Clinique?!.

The tinted eye primer is beautiful light brown that I personally just use as eyeshadow for a quick natural look! It blends well, doesn’t crease and lasts all day. I have used it as a base for eyeshadow but because of the color I prefer using concealer instead so it matches my light skin tone.

The matte face primer is wonderful! It feels so good on the skin and does it’s job. Keeps my T zone in check all day without leaving my skin as dry as a desert. I highly recommend it! The liquid illumination is okay.

I am not a fan of liquid highlight so that may just be a personal preference. The color is pretty though! You can use it alone for a natural look or if you want blinding highlight put that on first as a base for your favorite powder highlight and you’ll be seen from miles away!!!.

I’ve been using the Clinique men’s oil control face soap for over 30 years and I would not use anything else besides Clinique on my face. Everything that I use on my face is from Clinique from moisturizer, shave cream, Clarifying Lotion, post shave healer etc.

People think I’m much younger than I look and some of that I credit to using Clinique. I only recently switched from the bar soap to the liquid soap but I find it to be very convenient especially when using the cleansing brush.

I’d recommend this soap and all other Clinique products to everyone.

I’ve always been a big believer in Prevention is the best for of treatment. I broke out insanely, like never before. So i started to search for face washes, moisturizers, etc. at first i found harry’s.

loved it. used an aveeno face moisturizer with the best reviews on amazon and considered number 1. hated the smell & it irritated my eyes. go figure it seemed to have some weird gold flakes or sparkles lol screw that.

It was decent though, gotta give credit where its due. I wasn’t completely satisfied, with the moisturizer at least. Harry’s body wash stopped my body breakouts it was great. Then i remembered using brickells clarifying gel face wash.

I think during that time was when my face was the clearest and nicest. so i did my research on amazon, but saw a review about a sample. decided to order. WOW. Not a single breakout from mostly using face wash and moisturizer twice a day as they recommend.

No oily skin, no acne, dark spots going away, nice dry feel but my face looks good. I like to keep it simple. So i went with the face care routine. Turns out clarifying gel dried my skin. so it wasn’t for me now.

I now use the purifying charcoal face wash with the moisturizer. All i need. You get what you pay for guys. Also i doubt these things only last 2 months haha. You need the tiniest amount of moisturizer.

The face wash super liquid but you don’t need much either. Great products. Not expensive when we live in the age everyone wants to look good.

I happened upon this site by chance while searching for aftershave. It was just a couple of months ago, and my “routine” was to brush my teeth in the morning, and at night shower with Irish spring bar soap and whatever shampoo/conditioner was on sale at CVS.

I saw the free sample offer, and figured, why not? Browsing the site after ordering a sample kit, I figured I’d use the samples that I cared to, throw out the rest, but it didn’t matter because I’d definitely never buy any soaps or moisturizers that were so expensive.

I was completely blown away. The first thing that I used was the charcoal face soap, in the morning shortly after waking up. I’d never used a soap that left me feeling so clean, but was so gentle on my face.

And the subtle minty coolness-it was invigorating, I felt fully awake and ready to start my day. I always thought that “invigorating face wash” was marketing BS that sounded good, but didn’t really mean anything.

After that, I went through the samples a bit more seriously, and started using the serums and creams in the morning and at night, and started to notice that my skin looked and felt healthier, which was something that I never paid attention to or cared about.

I was pleasantly surprised with how long the tiny sample tubs lasted, too, which put the price point into perspective. The premium price tag is because they are premium products with high quality ingredients that work very well in small amounts.

I made sure to place my first real order soon enough that I wouldn’t run out of anything and break my new routine. Fast forward to today, I started my day by washing my face with charcoal face wash, followed by spritzing with toner, an application of day serum, and moisturized with eye balm and resurfacing cream.

After a long, hot day of work in the kitchen, I showered with the all-purpose hair and body wash, after getting out, another spritz of toner, used the renewing face scrub before shaving- I haven’t tried Brickell shave oil or cream yet, those are next-followed by your aftershave.

Before bed, another round of charcoal soap, night serum, eye balm, and revitalizing cream. This has gotten a bit long, but I wanted to use the review of this routine to mention how much I love all of these Brickell products.

I’m so pleasantly surprised, I had absolutely zero intention to ever purchase anythjng, and didn’t give even the tiniest. heck. about skin care. But my skin just feels healthy and happy, I feel cleaner, I’m really blown away as someone who never considered a “routine”.

I’m honestly shocked at just how happy I am incorporating these products into my day.

I use this cleanser every morning (and Clinique for men charcoal cleanser every night) and I love it. It is clear and has a gel consistency. It foams up a lot when you rub it into your skin and has a nice cooling sensation.

The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because I do find myself reaching for the charcoal cleanser some mornings when I feel like I need a deeper cleanse. It’s very gentle which some people might love and some people might not.

I cleanse morning and night, so this typically doesn’t present any issues because nothing really happens to my skin Overnight that I need a deep cleanse usually, but if I use an overnight mask or anything of that sort, I will go for the charcoal cleanser in the morning.

Really , I love this product as it Prevents pimples and blackheads and prevents excess oil from forming on skin. Prevents acne and scars. I think this product don’t need any improvement. It’s Gentle in use.

I will buy it again and again, And i will recommend it to my all relatives , friends and all people. It is the best face wash i’ve ever used.

I know face “scrubs” have been knocked down for their skin-stripping effect but this is different! not only is this facial scrub an AMAZING cleanser but it does not strip the skin or cause any can breakouts.

I am a teenage girl who has struggled with acne forever, this wash is the perfect exfoliation after a long day in a mask or even after sweating or working out or for a good pick me up considering the minty feel which is also a plus.

Okay, so this is the first face wash I’ve tried, but I really like it. It has a very pleasant minty scent, and you can feel the mint in it soothing your skin, as you use it. You can also feel the exfoliating ingredient as you massage it into your skin.

You’ll need to clean your wash hand basin very well after, to get rid of all the little exfoliant particles which you can feel but can’t see.

It definitely is a gentle exfoliate. If you are looking for something with more texture, this isn’t it. I appreciate that it is gentle enough for sensitive skin like mine. The scent is peppermint but isn’t noticeable.

Perhaps that’s a good thing. I am a fan of Harry products.

My hubby had pimples on his temples and enlarged pores on his nose, he uses this once a day and his skin improved very quickly. Hardly ever getting those hard little pimples and the enlarged blocked pores on his nose have gone away now.

It’s worked for him with his, I’d say, ‘normal’ skin. My Dad has some skin issues, Rosacea and outbreaks of psoriasis give him numerous breakouts and sore looking boils. Not pleasant for him at all. Combined with dry, flaky patches that sometimes crack.

I gave him a tube of charcoal face wash and yesterday he asked me where he could get some more. All the smaller pimples have cleared up or are healing, the larger ones don’t look so angry and are on their way to healing.

Non look infected anymore (they were quite bad). His overall skin tone has improved so much that I couldn’t see any pores where he didn’t have pimples. He never would consider spending so much on a face wash but loves how it’s helped his skin! He has one small dry patch though which with some moisturiser should be fine.

Hope this helps. Definitely worth a try for tricky skin.

This product used to be available as part of the mainline Clinique product range for women, until 2019. I am glad that the mens version is still available, as this product is gentle and fragrance free.

This product leaves the complexion feeling soft, smooth and free of clogged pores after repeated use. The dark charcoal does not stain washcloths, nor your shower stall. Great for all skin types, but best for normal to oily skin.

I bought this for my husband. He’s very happy with it. I tried it myself and like it too. It is not drying and leaves my face feeling clean, soft and smooth. My husband was worried the charcoal colour would stain his white face cloth but it loses most of it’s colour when lathered and rinses away well.

I think this will be keeper.
