I started experiencing red, itching, burning, pealing skin on the face a few years ago. It started from eyelids, then around the mouth area surrounding the lips, and then spread to the forehead and nose.
I applied different types of ointment and some helped for a while and some made me break out even worse. Meantime, I had to get rid of anything (cleansing solutions and cosmetics) that touches my face that I suspected potentially causing me the breakouts.
As soon as I thought my skin was getting better, it would come back worse. I have been using “Cetaphil Restoraderm Pro, Eczema Calming Body Wash” for one and a half years due to my very dry legs from burn scars.
Though I normally don’t use the skin products from drug store, I grew to trust Cetaphil, so I gave this Cetaphil daily scrub a try. I started noticing the improvement at the end of one week and by the end of three weeks, my facial skin is completely clear.
But I have to say its exfoliating power needs some more improvement. So I dared to use my old regular (non-cetaphil) exfoliating product the other day, followed by this Cetaphil scrub and I didn’t experience any breakouts.
@cetaphilUs #gifted me their Daily Facial Cleanser for testing purposes through @influenster. This warm, moist, hot af climate causes our pores to open up erupt like active volcanos. Complexions take heed, @CetaphilUS offers a grand value with their Daily Facial Cleanser for Oily/Combonation sensitive skin.
☀️Most of the time my skin stays balanced, however, I do suffer from hormonal acne large pores. Summertime calls for boat rides, pool time overall sweaty days. So it’s been a perfect time since my skin is a little more oilier to use this cleanse, must say w/ great success.
Fantasticly foamy deep cleansing, this non-irritating gel has been leaving my skin super clean, pores shrunk, my moisture barrier intact. ☀️I’ve been using this semi-regularly during times when my skin is in a combination state (not dry,) or I’m having a hormonal flare (w/ a few pimples popping up.
) W/ it’s tremendous cleansly ability, I have had to add a bit more hydration to my after-care routine. Hydrating toners, essenses, serums, ampoules, oils moisturizers counteract any tight feeling after cleansing.
☀️I would recommend this for sensitive skin friends in particular those of you w/ oily/combination skin. 💙I’m having a belated ⬇️ #WatershotWednesday 💦 #CetaphilScienceBacked #MyCetaphilSkin #contest #complimentary #skinsta #skinaglo #skincaretips #skincaregoals #dailyskinare #cleanser #facialskincare #dailyfacialcleanser #foamingcleanser #afordableskincare #sensitiveskincare #skincarereview #dailyskincare #influenster #cetaphilus #skinfluencer #skincareproducts #instaskincare #skingoals #oilyskin #combinationskin #glowingskincare #skinsta #skinaglo #skincaretips #skincaregoals #dailyskinare #cleanser #facialskincare #dailyfacialcleanser #foamingcleanser #skincaretalk #afordableskincare #skincarejournal #skin #sensitiveskincare #skincarereview #dailyskincare #selfcare #influenster #cetaphilus #skinfluencer #skincareproducts #instaskincare #skingoals #oilyskin #combinationskin #glowingskincare.
This cleanser is really good. There are lots of comments in regard to the new formula being worse than the old, which has NOT been my experience. ( it’s just a cleanser list of ingredients! ). This gentle foaming cleanser defends against 5 signs of skin barrier, dryness, irritation, roughness, and tightness.
It’s not harsh on my skin at all. I massage the product into my ski for 60 seconds then rinse and follow the rest of my daily routine. This product goes on light and smooth and leaves my skin feeling fresh and healthy.
I don’t care for the smell though, hence I less the star rating. What I love about this cleanser it is effective, but gentle without stripping or leaving my skin feeling dry. The original formula left my skin feeling dry.
I’m so happy they improved the formula with glycerine because my skin feels refreshed and moisturized! This cleanser is worth trying if you have not yet been using it. I hope my experience and pics were helpful to you!.

Over the last few months my skin has been breaking out so bad. I was embarrassed and felt shameful about it, I would absolutely hate going out without makeup or wearing a mask. In my area, the mask mandate has been lifted and now when I wear one I feel so awkward.
I went to Costco and saw they had this on sale, after trying nearly everything for my face, both natural remedies and bottled washes/ointments, I was feeling like my face was just getting worse/no improvement at all I figured I would give it a try.
I was a little put off by the consistency as it’s not something you typically get when buying a face wash. It almost feels like you’re just putting a very thin and watery lotion (which I don’t mind at all, actually love it) on your face.
After the first, YES the FIRST night using it, I woke up and could already visibly see a different. My poor scabbed over face was soft and the redness almost completely gone. I tried it both ways, completely rinsing my face and then just wiping it away.
Either way it’s been doing wonders! I’ll wash my face in the shower at night, and then in the morning in the sink. Hot water to start, then massage and rinse with cold water and dab a towel. I’ve been using it for just about a week and my face is almost completely clear! It feels soft and I can definitely tell my face is much more hydrated and happy.
And I’m happy! Acne and scaring can be such a difficult thing to cope with. I’m definitely calling this a life saver!!!! And for the price, its more than perfect! Finding an affordable face wash/treatment is extremely hard especially having to go through spending so much to find the right one.
Care for the skin while removing make-up and impurities with the Paula’s Choice RESIST Perfectly Balanced Foaming Cleanser. This specialised formula quickly removes make-up, impurities and bacteria while a blend of skin-repairing ingredients maintain the skin’s lipid barrier.
The light cream-to-foam texture feels comfortable and non-drying, while key ingredients such as Hyaluronic Acid and Ceramides condition and plump the skin, to prevent any post-cleanse tightness. Skin is left feeling clean, supple, soft and naturally matte.
Suitable for oily, combination and mature skin types, massage a small amount into damp skin on the face before rinsing with warm water and a wash cloth. Can be used once or twice a day.
This cleanser has to be one of the best cleansers(if not THE best) I have ever tried. Beautiful lather, cleans well, doesn’t strip my skin, and seems to lessen the redness in my skin. I’ve tried so many cleaners and a lot of them leave me skin looking so red, hot, and irritated, but this one does the opposite.
My skin feels so clean, fresh, and calm. One thing I will say is that while using this you may need to use an exfoliant maybe once a week or once every two weeks, since this cleanser is gentle and doesn’t really contain any exfoliating ingredients like citric acid etc.
But to be honest I think that’s why my skin likes it, because my skin doesn’t need an exfoliating ingredient every day. All in all, has become my absolute favorite. Please never stop making this one.
Cleanser is satisfyingly creamy & cushiony & rinses 100% clean yet leaving skin not at all tight; from this point of view, I liked it very much. Now for the points that would make me hesitate to buy it again – the cleanser is quite thick, foams quite a bit, & the pump doses out too much in one go.
This means I was wasting cleanser each time because I simply could not use the entire pump-dosed amount in one go; too much foam! So I transferred it to a soft-squeeze plastic bottle with a flip-top cap, to be able to control the amount dispensed i.
e. only a tiny-pea-sized amount since that is sufficient to cleanse my whole face. BUT, since the stuff is so viscous, there is now about 1/5th still left in the bottle, sticking to the sides, which refuses to pump out or even flow downward when I invert the bottle.
Hence I will need to add water to make it thinner to be able to use it! Could Paula’s Choice make this formula slightly less viscous, put it in a translucent soft-squeeze plastic bottle with a flip-top cap (so it’s also protected from any shower water), & thus use less HDPE in the packaging as well ?.
I love this cleanser it feel so lush and comforting to the skin. It’s Paula’s Choice so you’re getting high class ingredients. It feels as though it’s restoring your skin as you’re cleansing but thoroughly cleans it at the same time.
The packaging is pretty I think, love the pump dispenser bottle and the matte baby blue colour. Please never discontinue! Customer Care: Hi Zehna. Thank you for taking the time to leave your review of our Resist Anti-Aging Perfectly Balanced Foaming Cleanser.
This cleanser has a beautiful, creamy texture and is perfect for those who have combination or oily skin. It’s designed to cleanse your skin and leave it feeling smooth and soft and not stripped – this is thanks to it’s specialised formula which is designed to repair and protect the skin’s barrier.

A jewel-red gel cleanser that helps draw out impurities, reduce excess oil and unclog pores leaving the complexion deeply cleansed, supple and pure. This daily cleanser is perfect for blemish-prone, combination or oily skin or as a deep treatment cleanse for normal skin.
Red Clay & Rosemary Leaf Oil help purge the skin and balance sebum production while the FAB Antioxidant Booster helps fend off environmental aggressors.
I have problematic skin that leans more on the oily side of combination, but is highly sensitive. This makes treating acne/blemishes extremely tricky, but when introduced cautiously in combination with other highly soothing/moisturizing products this has become my go-to daily cleanser.
It keeps break-outs at bay and actually cleans my oily skin without causing major irritation like most oily/acne-prone cleansers. A couple things to keep in mind: this does not claim to be an acne treatment, and should not be expected to perform as such.
It’s excellent at preventing blemishes if used regularly, so keep ur expectations reasonable. By the same token, this contains red clay which is naturally powerful and can be very harsh and drying if ur skin isn’t ready (or if u simply don’t need this level of deep clean).
Don’t expect ur skin to be happy if u go from a gentle creamy wash straight into a hard scrubbing of nature’s thirstiest variety of dirt. Don’t expect it to leave ur skin moisturized, cuz it doesn’t claim to do that (that’s what moisturizer is for anyways).
Ease ur way in, start with a small amount in cool water and rub gently, then work ur way up (like an exfoliator or retinoid). Be ready to follow up with ur favorite soothing moisturizer. Do NOT vigorously scrub in a fat dollop under hot water like I did my first time.
That’s exactly how to make ur skin beg for mercy. In short, use common sense and this sauce will bless ur game.
I started using this cleanser when I was 22, and I’ve used it ever since (I’m almost 27 now). I tried so many products before using this to get rid of my acne and dark spots. This cleanser kept my skin clear through grad school; it works.
I do have sensitive skin, so I usually only use this cleanser at night to remove makeup. I typically use a more gentle cleanser in the morning. That being said, this is not a harsh cleanser by any means.
It’s just tough in the way it removes makeup. If you have more durable skin than mine, you can probably use it twice a day, no problem. The actual product is a gel consistency and is bright red. It lathers well and removes every bit of makeup from my face.
This is my holy grail. It works so great for my face! I’ve been using this since 2016. I haven’t had luck with other cleansers, but this one it great. It’s cleared all of my hormonal acne and leaves my face feeling so clean, without drying it out.
I use a bit in the morning and then every other night. I wet my face a little bit, then I smooth it on my face in an upward motion. Once it’s all on my face, I wet my hands and lather what’s on my face in circular upward motions.
The upward motion really does the trick. Then I just wash it off with lukewarm water and moisturizer with belif or avene! It’s all about trial and error. Keep in mind that not everyone’s skin is the same.
Help detoxify your pores for clean, healthy-looking skin with Neutrogena Naturals Purifying Facial Cleanser. Suitable for acne-prone skin, this face wash gently removes impurities and helps improve complexion for fresh, clear skin.
It penetrates deep into pores to detoxify and help remove dirt, oil, and makeup without pore-clogging residue. The formula includes 90 percent naturally derived ingredients, including willowbark. Willowbark contains naturally occurring salicylic acid valued for its detoxifying properties.
From the Neutrogena Naturals line of ecologically sensitive skincare products, this dermatologist-recommended cleanser contains no harsh chemical sulfates, paraben, petrolatum, dyes, or phthalates.
first i want to state that if you have a reaction do not blame the company. odds are you are allergic to an ingredient which is not the companies fault. If you are allergic to salicylic acid or aspirin, you will have a negative reaction when using white willow bark extract products such as this product.
as the consumer you must read ingredients and if you have sensitive skin air on the side of caution. if you do have a reaction get medical help immediately and discontinue use of product, dont tell others not to buy because you were allergic to an ingredient in it.
i have sensitive skin and i do have severe allergies to certain chemicals and ingredients so i did look through the list and not only was everything naturally derived but it had nothing that would cause me to react.
after 2 months of using this my skin looks flawless. its so gentle at removing makeup without stripping my skin. i use in the morning and at night. i hope they continue to have this around as i will continue to buy it.
the people giving it low ratings and stating they are having burning are suffering an allergic reaction to an ingredient. my guess is its the white willow bark.
I have very sensitive skin, prone to breakouts and found this product many years ago. It feels very mild. Never any burning or redness when washing. Lately I have not been able to find it at any of the stores I shop at.
I was afraid it had been discontinued. Thankfully it is still here on Neutrogena’s website!! I have had friends ask me what I use because my skin looked so clear. I directed them to this product. I love how natural it is.
Why is it IMPOSSIBLE to open this bottle’s pump?? I have been using this product for years and I’m so over getting angry and frustrated trying to open the pump. My normally unflusterable husband was so upset with this bottle the last time I asked him to try to open it for me.
It should not take tools and an engineering degree to open a bottle of facial cleanser. I have purchased my last bottle. It’s just not worth the hassle!.
CeraVe Foaming Face Wash, Daily Face Cleanser for Normal to Oily Skin has a unique formula with three essential ceramides (1, 3, 6-II) that cleanses and removes oil without disrupting the protective skin barrier.
Gentle foaming action refreshes and cleanses skin, including removing excess oils.
CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal to Oily Skin General Overview Developed with Dermatologists Made with 3 essentials ceramides, niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, and glycerin Fragrance Free Non comedogenic; Foaming action cleanses without disrupting the skin’s moisture barrier Personal opinion This is a great gentle, water based, everyday cleanser to pair with an oil cleanser.
If you use this on its own you may have an issue breaking down any longwearing oil based or waterproof make up, or sunscreen. I have been using this product for the better part of a decade and I haven’t found a cleanser that I can depend on everyday, all times of the month, that just gets the job done and nourishes my skin.
If you have this or have tried this and it didn’t foam up enough, try adding a bit more water next time or wet the hand that doesn’t have product on it then rub your hands together until you have the desired lather.
It is part of a routine that helped get my dry textured skin under control and introduced me into the world of ceramides, niacinamide and hyaluronic acid. It was the first product that made me want to research ingredients and learn more about what goes in my skincare and what is its function.
I quickly strayed away from western products and my love affair with sokoglam. com began. We are getting a bit off topic here but a key takeaway is that this made in America, drugstore product has survived even my Korean skincare deep dive.
If that doesn’t sell you this $17 for-the-jumbo-size-drugstore-cleanser then I dont know what will.

I have struggled with acne for as long as I can remember and have tried just about anything. My acne seems to come and go, and even the slightest inconvenience makes me break out. I have been using the Neutrogena Clear Pore facial cleanser for a year and a half.
This cleanser seems to keep my acne at bay but it can also make my skin feel tight and dry sometimes. It also made me purge for 3 months straight when I first began using it. Not fun. Anyways, I’ve seen and heard praises about the Cerave Foaming Facial Cleanser on Amazon, Google, Reddit, YouTube, TikTok, etc.
I decided to give it a go having high hopes because everyone else loves it. I will say that this cleanser made my skin soft, moisturized, and it foamed really nicely. But those were about the only things going for it.
Within two weeks I had small milia-like whiteheads all over my forehead and eyelids which has never happened with other cleansers before. My skin was oily constantly and my acne was rearing its ugly head with a vengeance.
I thought maybe it’s just acclimating to this new cleanser. I managed to keep up with this for a month before I booted it and went back to the Clear Pore cleanser. My skin calmed down within two weeks and the whiteheads disappeared.
Obviously this cleanser works wonders for other people but in my experience, I will not be using again.
I bought this because my lifelong cleanser Cetaphil changed its formula and made it feel like my skin was on fire when I used it. I have rosacea and cystic acne that I control with topical medications.
I used the La Roche-Posay Purifying Cleanser once and will base my review on the initial experience. If you have sensitive skin like mine, you would know all it takes is one time to have a reaction. I’m happy to say my face feels clean and very soft with no redness or irritation.
My skin is oily but maturing, as I am 38. I have no tightness, so it does not appear drying. I used this in the evening after a long day. I was not wearing makeup except mascara. It seemed easier to take my mascara off with eye makeup remover after washing my face.
My mascara didn’t streak all over my face while washing it, either, which usually happens with Cetaphil, so this impressed me. The only thing I didn’t love was how the product felt while using it, though I’m sure it will take some getting used to using a new product after using the same one for more than a decade.
However I’m excited to see how this works long-term. I’d recommend it to anyone in the same boat as me, being super cautious about their skincare and just wanting a safe and effective product.
If you are new to skin care and need a basic cleanser for oily skin or are in need for a second cleanser in a two step cleansing routine, this product does the job. First off, even though it is advertised for those with oily skin I have found it works well for those with dry skin as well (I have combination).
It is just that the other product advertised for dry skin does not work as well for oily skin, this product on the other hand feels pretty universal. This product is however NOT FOR those who wear medium to heavy make up and want to use a single cleanser.
There are other cleansers out there that remove makeup and cleanse at the same time in one cleanser, go buy those if you don’t want to double cleanse or remove makeup beforehand using wipes or pads. If you wear very light makeup (meaning only foundation basically) this product can get rid of that just fine.
For everyone else, this is the cleanser you should get if you don’t want anything else in your cleanser (meaning you don’t need your cleanser to exfoliate, brighten, soothe, etc). It is scentless, does not have any active ingredients, and is formulated really well (I’m not going to go into detail about ingredients, but just trust me in that it is a good list).
As hinted at above, it also works really well as a second cleanser in a double cleansing routine, and as your cleanser after you remove your makeup with a pad or wipes. The highest praise I can give to this product is that it is super consistent.
I have used 3 bottles in a year (so each lasts about 4 months) and have found that all 3 bottles felt identical in there feel, use, and effect. I have added and removed many products into my routine throughout the year and have simply kept this cleanser and it has had no adverse effects on my skin no matter what I was cleansing off or what I added to my skin after my skin.
Having used it throughout the year, it also works just as well throughout the seasons not matter the ambient temperature in your house. I highly recommend everyone at least use a cleanser and moisturizer in their skin routine and this would be the best basic cleanser I would recommend to everyone.
This does not clean your skin. The foaming effect is for show. Not only does this dry out my skin but since it doesn’t actually remove anything from your face except the oil on top, it leads to breakouts.
This did nothing to control my oiliness either. I used squalene cleanser before hand. Then I follow up this with a toner and the amount of dirt on my cotton ball was sickening. I started having to lather my face twice just to remove more dirt.
I also started getting black heads on the side of my face as well and texture problems. I stopped using a week ago and my pores are finally shrinking. This most certainly does leave some sort of film because my serums barely absorbed using this and made my face feel more sticky than the serums would on an actual clean face.
The Calendula Deep Cleansing Foaming Face Wash from Kiehl’s gives you skin that is clean down to the pores. The highly effective cleansing wash gently dissolves impurities and gives you smoother, softer skin.
Despite the intensive effect, the cleansing wash is also suitable for sensitive skin. The Calendula Deep Cleansing Foaming Face Wash from Kiehl’s is an intensive cleansing face wash that gently removes impurities, dirt and grease from the skin without drying or stripping it.
With vegetable glycerine, the special gel formula forms a rich, creamy foam on contact with water and makes cleansing your face a feel-good event. After application, the skin looks and feels instantly refreshed and revitalised.
To further benefit the skin, the cleansing face wash does not contain any parabens or soaps. Vegetable glycerine within the formula ensures that the skin retains lots of moisture. It also helps skin to become more supple.
The cleansing face wash can be used in the morning and evening. To apply, lather up a small amount of the cleanser in your hands and massage into the skin in upward movements. Do not apply the treatment to the eye area.
After briefly massaging in the product, thoroughly rinse it off. Ideally you should then use Calendula Herbal-Extract Toner to clear the skin.
I swear by this face cleanser! I’ve been using this cleanser and the Kiehl’s line in general for 2 years now and my skin has never been better. I absolutely love the fresh, soft feeling my skin has after I wash it.
I used to have acne, now it’s totally clear and I only get a few small pimples here and there. My skin has always been highly sensitive with a mixture of oily and dry and this has worked wonders. The difference it’s made is mind-blowing to me! Highly recommend to anyone with sensitive combination skin! Love love love it!.
I’ve never been a person too brand loyal for facial cleansers, I’d probably just keep buying whatever was on sale or whatever I saw in the drugstore if not for this. I got a little one as a gift three years ago and have never loved a cleanser as much since.
I bought the bigger size and it lasts forever! It makes my skin feel nice and I think it does a good job of removing makeup, even though I also use a remover with it. I don’t break out as much now that I have this + my skincare routine.
It feels luxurious too and you can’t top that! Like a mini spa feeling in my day.
I am impressed with this foaming face wash. I always have an issue with my pores. I even went for the dermapen treatment, and I stopped it after completing my session – I could not bear the pain. Then I try this Calendula Deep Cleansing Form.
Previously I used Ultra Facial Oil-Free; however, the effect is not the same. When I used this Calendula, I could feel my face was clean, and it was easy to remove the whitehead. At first, I thought it would make my skin dry.
Clinically proven to remove excess oil. This gentle foaming wash is clinically proven to remove excess oil, impurities and makeup that can clog pores, without over-drying skin. Gentle enough for daily use.
I absolutely love this clinically proven foam wash from Cetaphil! It removes grime, pore-clogging oil, impurities and makeup from my skin. This face wash is so gentle and yet it works well without over-drying to cleanse my oily skin.
I massage the foam onto damp skin and then rinse. To remove dirt and makeup, only a small amount is needed. The whole face cleansing process is very soothing and refreshing! I use to think that washing my face more often would help get rid of excess oil and dirt- but too much washing can potentially lead to even more oil production!!! Cetaphil PRO Oil Removing Foam Wash is designed especially for oily or combination skin and now I limit cleansing to no more than twice daily.
If you have oily, mixed or even sensitive skin, I definitely recommend trying Cetaphil PRO Oil Removing Foam Wash. The products of Centaphil have a pH level that respects the skin’s acid-alkaline balance for a more healthy looking skin.
Furthermore, it is clinically tested, hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic (won’t clog pores—a must for anyone with acne-prone skin), it’s fairly priced and can be conveniently bought at most stores.

I’ve been always looking for a product that could help my acne prone skin and I was so thankful that I discover this product of COSRX-Salicylic Acid Daily Gentle Cleanser. I’ve been using this product for days and it really mild and gentle to my face.
The fragrance is not strong and I love the smell i smells so natural. The consistency of this foam cleanser is really great thats what I really love the most of this product. You don’t need to squeeze a lot of the cleanser because just a small portion it really foams well that would cover into your whole face.
After washing, you can feel that your skin is so soft and refreshing. I feel that using this product really cleanse my whole face. I super love how the ingredients were so mild and gentle to our faces especially to my skin which has a acne prone skin especially in Tzone.
I’m super inlove with this product and I highly recommend this to you guys. I swear you will never ever regret purchasing this one. Overall rate for this product is 100/100. Thank you so much COSRX and YesStyle.
I heard so many good things about this by some youtubers who really are into skin care, and it seems everyone loves CosRX products. I bought this to help reduce my pore size. I have tried many, many cleansers, most containing 2% salicylic acid we no problems at all.
I can’t find a reason as to why this dries my skin out so bad. I am using it once every other day, hoping that my skin will adjust to it, but right now, it feels like it is stripping my skin of all oils, which I would think would be great, sense my skin is so oily.
First product ever to dry my skin out like that. I initially thought that this cleanser was ineffectual, but, this cleanser has actually done my skin wonders. Before using it, I would get several large pimples (not terribly bad, but annoying acne nonetheless) every week, and I would constantly be annoyed by some kind of acne flareup during the week — but once I started using this cleanser, I haven’t gotten any so far! I still get small pimples, but definitely not as many and definitely not the same intensity as before.
I believe that using this every morning has definitely contributed to my clearer skin and I highly recommend it. I use around a 1/2 inch long squeeze from the tube and rub it between my fingertips until it foams/lathers up into a nice amount of bubbles and then apply it to my face in swirling circular motions.
Unlike most other cleansers I’ve used, the CosRx Salicylic Acid Exfoliating Cleanser does not feel drying after washing it off, my face feels clean, but not stripped. As for the exfoliation part, it is a chemical exfoliation but it is very mild and gentle, not harsh.
Ibought one for my friend, but. I’ll think I’ll keep it for myself! I’ve listed the products I use daily down below, so y’all can take that into account with my results. Notes: Oily skin; get bad breakouts after eating unhealthily and during menstruation.
this helped me a lot. I don’t have acne and never did, however, using this together with the other products of the bentone snail line helped me to get my mixed skin and recurring pimples under control.
It is really great to keep me from touching my face or scratching any pimple I might have open, because I always think about the money I invested in these products and that they will only help my skin regenerate and look more plump and fresh when I do not damage my skin.
It was also a help with fading some scars I had because my skin heals really slowly and I would always have darker spots in places where I scratched or where a pimple had appeared. I frequently re buy this line when my products are about to empty, and when I cannot get them on yesstyle in time I revert to othet websites.
It is however a little drying and totally strips my skin of its oil, so I only use it in the evening and never skip the rest of my skincare, since my skin starts to itch because of the dryness if I do.
I still like the product a lot though, since it is otherwise rather gentle.
When it comes to faces with dry and oily places, it takes a clever cleanser to balance the two. This gentle, frothy face wash carefully does both jobs without canceling each other out. Broad leaf kelp extract discourages excess oil production, while wheat protein balances and protects dry-prone zones.
And tourmaline actually makes water wetter to more easily disperse dirt and sebum down the drain. There’s also aromatic bergamot, spearmint and lavender to add pleasure to the process. Skin feels comfortably refreshed after cleansing – never tight, pulled or parched.
I was so excited to try this product, yet after the first time of using it, I knew it was not for me. If I had not spent the pandemic watching dermatologists and skin care enthusiasts online I may not have known what I know now about how your skin should feel after washing, and the way this cleanser leaves me skin is not right.
My skin is literally squeaky clean, as in, it actually squeaked as I washed it. I like that the packaging is simple and clean, but it also looks a little cheap and not as premium as it is. On using the cleanser foam for the first time I was already unsure about the texture as I moved it around on my hands, but I gave it a go and even though I knew I didn’t like it, I gave it a fair go.
When moving it in circular motions around my face it did feel smooth and leave my skin feeling soft, but I found it difficult to dissolve from my skin and I felt that I almost had a film over my face for the first of the morning.
I think it did an okay job of removing minimal make-up but not so good at removing full nighttime glam make-up. It just smeared it across my face. I also really didn’t like the scent. It just smelt a bit ‘off’.
I wouldn’t purchase it myself, nor would I recommend it. It reminds me of something I would have used when I first started using skincare as a teenager. I think there are much better products on the market for the same price.
I have combination skin, oily T zone and dry normal/dry skin everywhere else. I’m very prone to hyperpigmentation when I break out and it always takes a while to go away. Given. I have had this wash for a bit over 2 weeks and I HATE it.
My skin hates it and it feels horrible once washed off. Not only that but it makes me break out with under the skin cyst like acne. The wash also feels super cheap, like if you’re using a Spring bar of soap on your face.
It leaves a white cast and thin residue, no matter hard much you rinse or emulsify before placing on your skin. A little product does go a long way and for the size given, that may be a good value. However, I will not be purchasing this in the future at all.
Now, I have to spend money on products that will help me get rid of the skin issues this wash has caused. Nothing else changed in my routine, just the cleanser. So I know that’s what has been drying my face, making it look dull and flaky, plus my other products don’t seem to be absorbing well after using this.
The moment I go back to my YOTP cleanser, my face looks normal and my products actually absorb. Stay away from this.
I enjoyed washing my face with this product. It has a fresh almost minty scent. It goes on very creamy which feels nice and then lathers in a froth. When I rinsed it off, my skin felt a bit firm. I don’t know if that’s a good or bad thing.
It didn’t sting my sensitive skin which is good. I do notice my face looks a little red in the cheek areas, but not unusual. This image shows my skin right after washing it drying my face. No other products.

I’ve been using this product since I was about 14 and now it’s been 17 years that I’ve relied on this product. There is truly nothing like it out there. You know a product works when you’re considering spending 60 dollars to get another bottle on eBay because someone made a terrible/downright stupid decision to discontinue a product that has a high demand.
Bring it back! I have sensitive skin and can’t use any other product that does what this does without a reaction. You guys really ruined a lot of peoples self esteem now that you’ve taken this away.
I called Neutrogena’s phone line (1-800-663-8876) and I was advised that this was discontinued on Dec 2020. I ask anyone that’s reading this to call that number and tell Neutrogena to not discontinue this product.
As per all the reviews here, they feedback are all positive. This product is the best and remove grease and oil from my face, and my husband even likes it too. We searched, everywhere to find it, but couldn’t.
Makes sense now since it has been discontinued. Neutrogana – I ask to NOT discontinue this product as we cannot find find anything similar in the market. If I have to sign a form I would. This is how much I like this product.
I’ve used this product for a very very LONG time and it was the ONLY thing that worked for me!! Devastated you discontinued it!! I have pretty much bought up all the ones I can find out there. on ebay, amazon and poshmark.
Please! Please! Bring this cleanser back or at least something comparable!! Is there another cleanser you have made in it place? If so, please let me know what it is.
A non-drying liquid soap that cleanses gently and thoroughly. Clinically formulated cleansing that’s how great skin starts. This dermatologist-developed Facial Soap maintains protective lipids and loosens surface flakes to leave skin clean, comfortable, and refreshed never taut or dry.
It rinses away easily and prepares skin perfectly for the exfoliating action of Clarifying Lotion. A convenient pump dispenser provides just the right amount of product. Enhance your cleansing regimen by using the Sonic System Purifying Cleansing Brush with Liquid Facial Soap.
I have combination oily, aging, sometimes sensitive skin, prone to acne/milia, and I use the facial soap for oily skin. It is a liquid gel consistency and doesn’t necessarily foam, but is effective at removing my sunscreen, moisturizer, sweat, sebum, the little makeup that I wear, and any dirt/pollution.
[If you wear makeup, I’d recommend using makeup remover first, then finish with this cleanser. ] I turn cleansing into a massage using this product, to give the active ingredients time to work, on my face, ears, neck, decollete, and the bumpy areas on the back of my upper arms (KP).
My face feels fresh and clean, not stripped, and there is a lovely cooling minty sensation on my skin as the water evaporates. It is a lovely experience! On days when my skin feels like it might react to actives or the minty fresh sensation, (I use Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser instead, as a backup plan, but this is my preferred cleanser.
) Also, a little goes a long way–it only takes one or two pumps of product per cleansing. I’d recommend this for anyone with oily skin, male or female (it’s unscented and gender neutral), but if acne is a bigger problem, go with the acne line of products Clinique offers.
I follow cleansing with this soap with Clarifying Lotion 3 (exfoliant toner) and Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel or Jelly (both are oil free–the DDM lotion has oils). I would think that this soap would be drying without some kind of moisturizer, even a light oil-free moisturizer.
I’ve been using Clinique as a teen and now in my early 40’s. A brand I trust to deliver great results and basically says on the tin. I use the mild facial liquid soap first thing in morning and taking make up off before bed.
It’s so mild, doesn’t sting my eyes and doesn’t leave my skin dried out. It leaves my skin smooth, supple, makeup free and a wonderful fresh feeling. A brilliant routine to maintain without complicating things.
The two bottles are the same product, but the brand is being as much of an eco friendly move. The one on the left is the older type bottle with the bigger pump. It’s a shame as the bigger pump isn’t recyclable deemed a no-no for the environment.
So Clinique redesigned this with a neater push-down cap (on the right) which is fully recyclable. The caps are in different colours- purple is the mild strength which suits me to a T. Wouldn’t change this and my fantastic skin routine.
Clinique is by far the best skin care and makeup you will ever use. I grew up on it with my mother and my grandmother using it. When it came time for me to start caring for my face and wearing makeup, Clinique is what I started with.
To this day it is still what I’m using and will never change. I am 33 years old, and literally on a daily basis people ask me how do I keep my skin looking so fresh and young looking, how do I look only 20 years old, how do I keep my skin glowing, how do I keep my skin so healthy looking, what’s my aging secret, and to all those questions I answer the same thing, I used Clinique and have for years and will continue until I die.
I use Clinique for my skin care and I use Clinique makeup. I make sure to use all the same brand of skin care and makeup on my face which again is Clinique. I give full credit to Clinique for why my skin looks so young and amazing.
This is the face wash I use along with the other 2 steps. My mother is 65 and people swear she is in her 40s. Why? Clinique!!!! If you want to make the best decision you will ever make for your skin, choose Clinique.
Extra gentle cleansing is guaranteed with Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Oil-Free Cleanser. The face wash gel is a quickly refreshing facial cleansing product that thoroughly removes impurities. Thanks to the particularly mild formulation without oils, parabens, colorants or perfume, the gel is also suitable for use on sensitive skin.
Ideally, you should combine the Cleanser with other products from the Ultra Facial Oil-Free range. Gentle facial cleanser for a clean, smooth complexion[/h2 Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Oil-Free Cleanser is an ultra-mild cleanser that thoroughly removes excess oil on the skin’s surface, make-up and other impurities.
It leaves the skin clean and fresh without drying it out and also ensures a more balanced skin texture. The gentle formula contains Imperata Cylindrica roots and lemon fruit extracts as well as antarcticine, which reliably protect your skin from drying out, even when the temperature fluctuates considerably.
Antarcticines also have an intensive moisturising and antioxidant effect, and give you a beautiful, smooth complexion. A small amount of the cleanser is applied to your moist face morning and evening using clean fingertips in an upward circular motion and gently massaged into the skin.
After a short massage, you can either rinse the face cleanser thoroughly with water or remove it with a lukewarm, damp washcloth.
I used this cleanser for 3. 5 months, my skin health slowly started going downhill. I thought it was because of other factors which is why I continued to use this product for so long. Eventually, I realized that my breakouts started around the same time that I began using this cleanser.
Within several days of discontinuing use of this cleanser my face has started to clear up. However, the severity of my breakout due to this cleanser made me want to figure out why this cleanser didn’t work for me.
Several factors, including learning about the body’s immune system during a Microbiology class lead me to research the pH of this product and it’s ingredients. I could not find any information online about the pH of this product and none of the customer service people have provided me with an answer as of yet.
According to several at home pH tests (I tested a variety of products to verify the relative accuracy of the test) it would seem that this cleanser has an approximate pH of 9. 5 (my reading is probably within /- 0.
5 accuracy). Human skin has a natural pH of ~5. 5 (which is slightly acidic) and this is a factor in the immune system’s first line of defense (physical and chemical barriers). This natural acidity of the skin makes the skin an inhospitable environment for harmful bacteria to survive on.
Because pH is a logarithmic scale, this cleanser is ~10,000x more basic than the skin’s natural pH. This essentially turned my face into a petri dish for bacteria to grow on. I would never recommend this product to anyone.
(P. S. Potassium Hydroxide, also known a lye, is an ingredient in this cleanser, so it might be useful for cleaning oily dishes in your kitchen. ).
This oil-free Ultra Facial Cleanser is WONDERFUL! Tonight is my third time using it and from the first use I was impressed. The tube size is very generous, meaning it’ll last a really long time considering a small amount is needed to get an abundance of lather.
I use a cellulose round to wash my face to help entire a good, thorough clean. As I’m splashing water onto my face to remove the cleanser my face feels and sounds squeaky clean. My skin looks very clean, bright, and nearly a shade lighter (just kidding!).
My skin feels a little tight without feeling stripped, but nothing a nice night time moisturizer can’t remedy. I have very oily skin – nearly all over. I’ll see how effective it is when used in the morning (hence the 4 star rating), but even if it doesn’t do well throughout the day I’ll still keep in my regime (for night time make up removal).
I currently use a Tea Tree facial cleanser that is very effective during those hot summer days that has proven its worth. I’ve not noticed an offensive smell as some have indicated. A slight smell is present, but it dissipates so quickly that it’s really not worth mentioning.
La Roche-Posay Effaclar Purifying Cleansing Gel gently purifies the skin, eliminating impurities and excess sebum. The formula contains soothing and anti-irritating La Roche-Posay Thermal Spring Water.
Effaclar is a complete skincare solution adapted for all types of imperfection-prone skin. Naturally hyperactive sebaceous glands produce an excess amount of sebum. The skin tends to become shiny. Under the influence of environmental variations, sebum can oxidise and stimulate sebaceous glands even more.
The pores get blocked and imperfections may appear. Preparation and UsageLather the gel between wet hands and apply to the face by massaging the skin gently. Rinse thoroughly. Best results use a part of a 3 Step Routine: Cleanse with Effaclar Purifying cleansing Gel, tone using the Effaclar Micro-Exfoliating Astringent Lotion and then moisturise the entire face using Effaclar DUO [+].
In a desperate attempt to tame my cystic acne right before my dad’s wedding, I looked up different treatment options. Found this at the top of the list of a page developed by dermatologists. After the first use, I felt much cleaner in my skin.
Found this at a local Walgreens for $15. Which was cheaper than I had anticipated. I liked it so much, I later went to my local Ulta and purchased this little 3-piece kit. (They had the same one at Walgreens for the same price – roughly $30.
) With the first few uses of the wash, followed by the toner and spot treatment, my face was kind of on fire and tingled terribly. I figured it was due to the damage I had done previously, desperately trying everything to diminish these giant growths on my face.
After I purchased the repair lotion with SPF 30, ($22 at Ulta) and used it a few times to replenish the moisture I had stripped out of my face, I do not have the same burning or tingling sensations after using the wash or toner.
This kit has seriously sped up the healing process, redness and pimple size significantly diminished, no excessive dryness or scarring. I love it and will certainly use for the unforeseeable future. I have been using this for about 2 weeks now.
I did have another break-out this week but with only two this time. This kit has stopped it dead in its tracks. Mind you, cystic acne does take longer to heal, but it hasn’t gotten any worse.
I absolutely love this cleanser, I use it every single night for my night time regime. I got it for $15. 99 from ultra’s website but you can buy it on the brand’s site for a dollar less. I would not recommend using this if you have cystic acne.
I had really bad and inflamed acne for a while and using this cleanser alone didn’t do enough for me. I did not have cystic acne either. Salicylic acid is a betahydroxy acid (BHA) and is the main ingredient in this cleanser.
This is definitely effective but not using it by itself. If your acne is not so severe you could probably use it alone and it will clear up but in my own experiences I had to get on a prescribed astringent medication given by my doctor.
Using that along with the effacer cleanser has slowly been able to fight off my acne. Overall this cleanser is pretty amazing and is a great tool in controlling my acne. I love it and it is pretty affordable, you can’t beat it!.
I don’t say this lightly, but this product and brand not only changed, but also saved my life. I have been dealing with terrible acne for the past 5 years that has both been caused by hormonal changes (due to a medication I was on years ago) and also clogged pours.
I have spent hundreds and probably even thousands over the years trying different facial products to try to get rid of my acne, but to no avail. Before then, I have always had incredibly clear skin and not a single issue.
I was desperate. I was depressed. I hated leaving my house because my acne got so bad that even makeup wouldn’t conceal it but would rather just make it seem like I had a bunch of skin colored bumps on my face.
I even stopped seeing friends. I hated taking selfie’s and pictures with friends. Everything was just bad. Then I ran across a post about La Roche Posay, a long forgotten brand by me that I used to use back in High School when my skin was crystal clear and I decided to see what new products they would have.
To my surprise they had an entire line for acne. I read hundreds of reviews and saw that people were having luck with it and since I had nothing to lose because my skin was at the worst it’s ever been, I decided to order the Effaclar Medicated wash, the Adapalene cream to test them out and see if maybe they would at least help a little bit.
What came next was a shock to everyone. FOUR DAYS after washing my face twice a day with the Effaclar medicated wash and using the Adapalene cream, my acne began to clear up. It was like a holy moment in my life where I couldn’t believe my eyes.
A few weeks later and all but 2 spots on each side of the face had cleared up. Due to the mask mandates from Covid 19, my pores would still get clogged a little but nothing compared to how it was before.
I have since bought more products from the La Roche Posay brand and I couldn’t be any happier with them. After the 2 week mark, I purchased the La Roche Posay hydrating gentle cleanser, the lipikar lotion, the touleraine ultra moisturizer, the Effaclar duo acne treatment, the double repair facial moisturizer and also the Effaclar mat moisturizer.
Literally every single product I have tried has been an absolute God-send! All of their products are dermatologist tested and approved and they are non comedogenic which means they DO NOT CLOG PORES!!! My face would sometimes be a little dry after using the Effaclar medicated wash, the Adapalene gel and the Effaclar duo treatment, so I began using the touleraine ultra moisturizer in the morning because it feels light on my skin, and then the lipikar lotion on my face at night to get a good hydration going overnight! I love using the double repair facial moisturizer under a very light layer of makeup and the Effaclar mat moisturizer is an absolute holy grail item used under a full face of makeup because it also acts as a primer.
This is a really long review but I wanted you all to know that these products, while a little on the pricier side of daily skincare, are absolutely AMAZING and worth EVERY penny. Thank you so much La Roche Posay for saving my skin and bringing back the happiness and confidence that I lost 5 years ago.
The before and after pictures speak for themselves! This is a ONE MONTH DIFFERENCE.
Cleanse, Hydrate and protect your skin day after day with the CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser. This cleanser removes dirt, oil, and makeup while being gentle on skin. Essential ceramides help restore the skin’s protective barrier while the hyaluronic acid helps retain the skin’s natural moisture.
Wet skin with lukewarm water and work in a small amount of cleanser by making gentle circles. This moisturizing cleanser is great for mature skin types and as a part of an anti-aging skincare regime.
Reveal clear, glowing skin with this gentle face wash.
I have really sensitive, dry, acne prone skin, & rosacea and this cleanser is my favorite. It’s gentle, fragrance free, and doesn’t have any harsh ingredients. My skin has not reacted negatively to this product and I’ve been using it for almost a year! The bottle lasts for a really long time & for the price, you can’t beat it! It should be noted that it doesn’t remove makeup, so for sure using a makeup remover that doesn’t leave an oily residue prior to cleansing with this product.
I tried to follow up the Versed Cleansing Balm with this cleanser and it didn’t remove the oily residue left by the cleansing balm. I normally use the Farmacy Green Clean Cleanser & Makeup Remover Balm (which doesn’t leave ANY residue – I HIGHLY recommend it), but ran out while traveling & picked up the Versed on a whim.
I had to switch to the CeraVe Hydrating Cream to Foam cleanser which also removes makeup to get the residue from the Versed balm off. In conclusion: Farmacy > Versed. CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser > any other brand’s hydrating cleanser.
The whipped texture that transforms into a sumptuous cream when blended with water. A powerful botanical antioxidant blend it helps safeguard skin against environmental aggressors while also calming irritated skin.
This face wash saved my skin! I was struggling with hormonal acne for 4 years. I tried so many different skin regimens, spent hundreds of dollars, and finally found this one. My skin always had breakouts on my chin and jawline until I started using this.
Unfortunately I purchased the wrong PCA face wash as my refill. Tried using it instead and 2 weeks later I’m starting to have the same skin issues. Just ordered the correct one and now have it set up for future deliveries.
Incredibly thankful for this product! After years of working on my skin I finally have clear skin again. I can go back to my makeup free face and feel confident in my skin. Thank you PCA.
This is one of my favorite facial washes. This facial wash has a gel like consistency it is not sticky and unlike other facial cleansers I’ve used in the past this one actually lathers and gets soapy and sudsy which I appreciate when washing my face because without that foamy lather I don’t feel like I’m actually cleaning my face and removing the dirt and sweat from the day.
It only takes a dime size drop two successfully clean my face. I love the sleek look of the packaging and how affordable this facial wash is. This facial wash does not dry out my skin and after I’ve used it my skin feels lighter and cleaner and I follow with the PCA skin nutrient toner.
This Foaming Cleanser easily removes makeup and sunscreen with ease. Skin is left feeling hydrated, clean and fresh with soothing camomile. To use: Thoroughly wet hands and face then add a small amount to hands.
Work into a lather then massage over the face avoiding the eye area. Rinse off then follow with Cliniques 3-Step Skin Care System.
I feel like I’ve been searching my entire 28 years of life for this product! Something that removes eye makeup easily and is meant for oily/combo skin. I used to use the Purity cleanser but it still left mascara residue behind, and it has parabens.
Other face washes for acne-prone/oily skin do not remove makeup adequately, so yet another step was required prior to cleansing. Clinique’s All About Clean is gentle enough for sensitive skin, doesn’t make my oily/combo skin more oily, and removes mascara and eye makeup like a breeze.
I actually wake up in the AM with clean under eyes; there is no residue from the day before! And, my skin feels and looks incredibly balanced, too. Not too shiny, not dry, just healthy. After washing my face, it feels wonderfully clean and looks great in the morning after a night’s sleep.
It does make my face feel a bit tight and dry after use, but I follow up with an exfoliating toner and the Kinship Supermellow moisturizer with this product and my skin feels great. Don’t hesitate to get the larger product of this– it’s worth it and a good value!! A little bit (truly a chickpea-sized amount) goes a very long way and lathers nicely.
I have a few problems with this product: 1) the foaming action, 2) it makes my skin oily, and 3) doesn’t remove makeup well. Overall very disappointed with this product. I bought it on sale at Ulta during the 21 Days of Beauty to stock up on cleansers and recently started using it; if it wasn’t past the return window I would be returning it.
It is creamy and when you rub your hands together it foams just a little bit; but isn’t frothy or bubbly, it remains more of a cream-based foam. Because it’s creamy it’s a little hard to rinse off. It’s gentle so my face doesn’t feel squeaky clean after which I’m fine with, it feels more soft and supple.
However, I don’t know what it is about this product, but a few hours after using it I am the OILIEST I’ve ever been in my life. For whatever reason, it kicks my oil production into overdrive. Whether I wash my face in the morning or night, a few hours later or when I wake up my face looks like I dunked my head in water.
It’s also not the best at removing makeup or eye makeup. If I’m wearing mascara and wash my face with this product, it won’t remove all of my makeup and will leave streaks. If I remove my makeup and then wash my face, the streaks and black marks will be lessened a bit, but still present.
Giving it a 3 because it technically does what it says. But overall, not worth it for the price at all. I expected more from Clinique. Wish I could get my money back.
Clinique changed their packaging, but the product is still fantastic. In my thirties my skin began to change and I was looking for a more moisturizing facial wash. The foaming cleanser has a great lather, removes oil and dirt, and leaves the skin feeling clean and refreshed.
I use daily with a facial scrubber (which I highly recommend investing in). If you want something that doesn’t leave your face feeling tight or dry after washing this is a must have. I also recommend it for sensitive skin.
