In general, face products for combination skin should be light and non-greasy, as they need to balance the needs of both oily and dry skin types. In addition, face products for combination skin should also be able to control shine and help to reduce the appearance of pores.

Used the moisturiser only for 2 days, used it at night after cleansing but skin around my nose, lips and cheeks felt very tight with dry patches on second application. Not very happy! I used the Anti aging hydration moisturiser before which was fantastic but wanted to give a break from anti-aging products so tried this one.

Because the formula is specifically created for oily skin types, I assumed it would not make me break out. I have been on the hunt for a new moisturizer for almost a year after my holy grail was discontinued.
I bought this moisturizer out of desperation because I was breaking out from another moisturizer. I bought this one and while I waited for it to ship, my skin cleared up as I stopped using the other moisturizer.
I started using this one and have broken out even worse than before! I have stopped using it immediately. I’m so disappointed. There is nothing worse than watching your skin get worse. If you’re acne prone, I don’t recommend this moisturizer.
It was, however, effective in controlling my oil, so if you aren’t acne prone and only require oil control, this may work for you. The texture also isn’t what I expected. It doesn’t have the hydrating, ultra light jelly like texture or cooling feel I expect from gel moisturizers.
It’s definitely a thicker gel and it absorbs into the skin very quickly so you don’t have much time to spread it over your skin. It sort of reminds me of a primer. One good thing about it is that it didn’t have any fragrance.
Only a few days into using this, but I’ve found that this doesn’t really hydrate my skin, even when I use a good heaped fingertip full (more than I’m used to). I also noticed that I have white flakey, dry bits on my face later in the day or in the morning after applying at night.
I’m not entirely sure if this is my skin or bits of the product that are dried? I have rubbed the product in thoroughly so I’d be surprised if it was leftover product; however, this could explain why it doesn’t feel so hydrating? It also stings a bit when I put it on.
This is my first ever Paula’s Choice product and I’m a bit underwhelmed so far if I’m honest. Love the ingredients and safety of the products, but can’t say it’s doing very well for me so far.

I switched to this moisturizer after I could no longer purchase Pep-start Hydroblur Moisturizer (which I always found very gentle on my skin). I used this for a few days without, I thought, ill effect and then started to notice my skin turn red and become incredibly itchy.
I’ve had a similar reaction to other moisturizers by other companies, though I’ve never been able to ascertain the specific ingredient that causes the problem. (I have noticed that it often occurs with anti-aging formulas.
) At any rate, the moisturizer is silky and absorbs well. I would love it if my skin could tolerate it. I was a little surprised to find a Clinique product I cannot use, but I do caution others that it can cause an allergic reaction.
I’m not sure what I’ll switch to, but hopefully, there will be another Clinique product I can use.
I did not expect much! I was pleasantly surprised to see results after just 2 weeks. The texture is very nice and non greasy feeling. This really does attack multiple issues. In a couple of weeks- brightness, even tone, smaller pores, reduction in lines with an overall look of vibrancy.
Apply after moisturizer and enjoy. it contains salicylic acid which is great!!! This combats inflammation, unclogs pores and helps clear away dead skin. I saw someone say “I don’t want salicylic acid in my serum” it’s important to understand how important this ingredient is and that it is not just for acne solutions at all.
Salicylic comes from the white willow bark in nature but can now be made in the lab. Aspirin was originally from the white willow bark, therefore it’s a wonder ingredient less aggravating than other acids 4 face.
Think about it, aspirin is anti inflammatory and salicylic literally unglues gunk on the surface of skin and in the pores while calm redness. Anyway, this is packed with great ingredients and wears well under makeup.
My skin is finicky so I had to cut back to once per day application as it’s amazing ingredients caused a bit of irritation but it did clear up my skin and refine it. it Does add a touch of moisture too.
Impressed that it cleared my face lit it up. I cleanse, exfoliate with Tatcha enzyme rice and then their Essence, then Clinique moisture surge super concentrate gel, smart repair night moisturizer as needed and then the Smart Serum.
It’s one of the best out there that is a full on multiplayer for yor skin! Warning: resist over application. Less is more and a 1oz will last longer than a month especially if just using on face. Bottom line- it is packed with great stuff 4 skin.
5 stars! I had very bad skin a few months ago – with bad acne, acne scars, dull and dry skin. After trying this, my skin completely transformed. I look younger and so much healthier. I have even received comments about how good my skin looks.
I struggle a lot with creams as I have very acne-prone skin. This might cause some break-outs at the beginning but my skin got used to it within a week. Given the price, I hesitated for a long time. But then I thought that I would try it once and see how it goes.
Now I don’t think I’ll be able to do without it. If Clinique shared this as a sample, they would probably get a lot more sales and new customers frequently purchasing this!.

I’ve been using Mario Badescu products for seven years; I have oily skin, that might also be getting less oily as I enter my mid-thirties, but my traditional annual regimen has been to use MB Oil Free Moisturizer SPF 17 in the warmer sunny months, and then to switch to Control Moisturizer for Oily Skin in the winter, when I’m not outdoors/in the sun as much.
I ordered a new bottle of Control Moisturizer for Oily Skin and the formula has changed; it’s not white and opaque anyone, but now sort of clear and translucent. I used it for several days in a row and it dried my skin out.
I’ve had to switch back to my Oil Free Moisturizer. Keep in mind that I started using this right as the weather got more cold and dry, and I really don’t struggle with acne or excessive oiliness. I’m sure this is a very effective product, but it’s just too effective for me personally now!.
This is one of my favourite moisturizers. Was originally introduced to this product when I was in high school but, ditched it for more expensive products until Sephora started carrying the line. Since it’s intro to Sephora I’ve been using it daily.
It’s lightweight yet has natural acids (from the buttermilk) that helps remove dead skin cells keeping my skin looking youthful. Because it is so lightweight you can layer serums or sunscreen and it won’t feel greasy.
The T-zone is a small problematic zone for many men and women as impurities quickly form here, meaning therefore that your complexion also suffers in the long-term too. In cosmetics, the area from your entire chin up to your nose is referred to as the T-zone – this area resembles a T.
The T-Zone Balancing Gel Cream ensures a pleasant balance in the T-zone. Given that your chin and nose is really prone to greasiness in combination skin, this balance is absolutely vital to ensure your complexion remains healthy.
A matter of course for the brand, Ren Skincare uses selected ingredients that build on the latest scientific findings and research. A healthy T-zone in combination skin that requires careCombination skin can very rarely be cared for using traditional cosmetic products as the change between dry, normal and oily skin happens quickly.
The wrong care on the wrong part of skin can even have a damaging effect therefore. The T-Zone Balancing Gel Cream by Ren Skincare should therefore be applied to specific areas on your skin, and absorbs within the shortest possible time.
The Face Gel Cream comes in a 50 ml tube, which is really economical thanks to the specific way it is applied. Individuals with combination skin have found the perfect solution with this product from the Face range.
I’ve struggled my whole life with every bad skin problem you can think of- clogged pores, acne, blackheads, oily skin, dry skin, dry skin that’s still somehow oily. Most products left my face damaged.
They either dried me out, or made me a blemish prone grease ball. I just wanted something that would both hydrate and nourish my skin, while also addressing the excessive oil and blemishes. This was the solution I was looking for.
This is a high quality, silky, almost buttery cream that glides over the surface of your skin. Sometimes, the toner I use can make my skin feel a bit tight and inflamed- especially if I’ve gotten any sun that day.
Applying this after is like diving into a crisp pool after a long, hot day in the sun. It immediately soothes my skin. It’s light weight, moisturizing, and because of it’s acne fighting ingredients, it’s the perfect moisturizer for acne prone skin like mine.
I wanted to LOVE this product but the price is outrageous for what it is, and I actually hate to say that. However, to me personally when it comes to body lotions, a $50 lotion – and mind you, I got it on sale for $27.
50 – even then to me, is pushing it. But, I was like it’s a clean product etc etc. The thing is that there’s little to no scent and what is a scent, isn’t altogether terrific. Sorry, but that’s my honest feedback and I hate to be negative but I’d hate to see someone pay full price.
The lotion itself will not keep you hydrated all day. I have oily skin and live in 10000 degrees in New Orleans – if I got dry, anyone is getting dry on this. Maybe I got a bad batch? IDK but I do not see how on earth it’s this expensive, even with high quality ingredients, I just don’t.
if they dropped this to like competitively be priced around drunk elephant’s sili for example at $20 – okay yeah for sure go forth, but sadly this is a hard no and return for me. bummer.
This was my first time ordering this cream directly from their site and I received a foul lotion, smell was rancid and texture weird and broken. When I emailed this company they refused to refund my money, only option was to send product back or have them resend.
With all their claims about the planet and zero waste this was super hypocritical! The product was bad, refund the money without waste should be the only option!!! I also made a complaint in the same email that 5 little products were sent in a MASSIVE box unwrapped, not only was that very wasteful, all the caps were broken and products smashed.
The company never addressed this, they ignored it and never resolved the problem with my rancid cream.
Mario Badescu Oil Free Moisturiser (59ml) is a simple, lightweight moisture lotion, ideal for combination, oily and sensitive skin types. Non-comedogenic, this moisturiser has a light, fragrance free formula that’s ideal for oily and problem skin and non irritating too.
Quickly absorbed it also makes a great base for makeup.
I bought this to have a smaller sized everyday moisturiser yet there are so many flaws with this cream. Firstly, it smells and looks exactly like sorbolene cream. It reminds me of playing with my grandmas skin creams in the 90’s, the smell, the texture.
Secondly, I exfoliate, cleanse, tone then moisturise. This doesn’t at all soak into my skin and when rubbed in it turns white and basically stays like that, then dries and leaves a sticky feeling. Overall this for my skin isn’t a good cream by any standards, and it’s very very small for just under $30.
I’m very pleased with this moisturizer; it’s lightweight and has absolutely no smell. It’s more of a gel consistency than your average cream/lotion/moisturizer. I am still trying to get my ratio correct, I notice if I start at my cheeks and move inward, I am have the least amount of oils after a few hours- but if I start at the nose or forehead and work outwards, I tend to have a more oily T-zone (I also wear glasses 24.
7)- But even still, I’m VERY pleased with the results; the oil I DO get isn’t near the amount i would normally, so this is an improvement! I don’t feel gross at all, which is wonderful.
I love this moisturiser and I buy it again every time I run out of it. It leaves my skin feeling really moisturised without feeling oily, and goes really well under makeup. My only complaint about it would be that the bottle design is a bit annoying sometimes.
The end of the nozzle becomes blocked occasionally with dried moisturiser and then when I squeeze it out, the dry bit dislodges and I get a massive amount of moisturiser squirt out!.
The perfect way to restore blissful balance to oily, combination, sensitive (or just downright confused) complexions, Pai Skincare’s The Pioneer will soon become your daily go-to. Hydrating skin without overloading it, the silky moisturiser is lightweight and non-greasy, absorbing swiftly to leave a matte-satin finish that rebalances oil to minimise blemishes, blackheads and breakouts.
Free from pore-clogging ingredients (including beeswax, silicones, drying alcohols and mineral oils) the formula features geranium oil, which cools and calms the skin, as well as thistle oil, which is brimming with omega 6 to even out skin tone, mattify your complexion and minimise the appearance of large pores.
Leaving a super-soft finish, this creates a perfect base for make up.
I have used this for a few years now! I first received a sample of it through Credo Beauty purchase when I started trying clean beauty products – and let it sit around for months because I didn’t really know what it was.
However, I eventually decided to use it and discovered what has been a fantastic skin product. My skin is so sensitive, all over, but my face is where I am so picky about what I want on it. I live in the midwest, Iowa, where we have dry winters that last 8 months, with -40 degree wind chills.
My face is already normal to dry, and this sucks all the moisture right out of our bodies here. This moisturizer has been fantastic at providing a calm hydration, that is so light and not greasy. It feels like I added a natural layer of moisture to my skin, does not feel like I put anything on it at all.
You know when you can tell you’re wearing product on your skin because it takes a while to “soak in”? This is immediately absorbed and used to keep my face smooth all day, my pores small, and my skin relaxed and hydrated.
Love it!! Also lasts way longer than I expected. I was a bit nervous at the price for the small amount but have been impressed by how a little can go a long way.
It started with the Rose Hip oil, then the RoseHip oil cleanser, then the black facial oil, and now this delightful moisturiser. I feel as though the Pai products were produced for my skin they’re *that* good.
I’ve spent years and years trying to find the right products for my skin – trialing harsher products with more aggressive ingredients to natural products with a much more sensitive approach. Discovering Pai and their products has been nothing short of a miracle for my skin.
I am oily prone to breakouts, having suffered from adult acne in my early/mid twenties. After going on antibiotics that successful warded off the acne, I needed to find a skincare range that helped keep it at bay and nourish my healing skin.
I’m 28 now and the Pai products are consistently the ones that I feel make the most difference. This moisturiser is no different. I always struggled to find one that didn’t make my skin look greasy and this one is the one! It’s a great base for makeup and didn’t cause any pilling at all.
Strongly recommend. Now, on to my next product to try!.
I have suffered from acne prone skin for ten years and I thought I had tried everything to combat it. It wasn’t until I was given The Anthemis as a gift last year that I realised how wrong I was. I gave it a go because it said ‘suitable for acne prone skin’ but I had never thought of my skin as sensitive.
However, when I started using The Anthemis, my acne started to clear up. Hopeful from the results I had achieved using Pai moisturiser, I then purchased the Middlemist Seven Cleanser and my acne got considerably less red and angry.
I realised most of my skin problems were caused by using products that had been too harsh on my skin. So far, I have repurchased The Anthemis three times and I now exclusively use Pai skincare (including serums and oils).
I recommend it to everyone. Thank you Pai for creating products that not only claim to be kind to skin, but actually are. *I also take antibiotics for acne*.

This is amazing stuff. I was skeptical at first because I hadn’t ever used these products before and being I have rosacea and eczema, I wasn’t sure how my skin would react. These products are the real deal, they are quality products that leave your skin feeling and looking amazing! My skin is soft, youthful and healthy looking.
I love Mario Badescu products and I am confident that you will too! The best thing is, you get amazing high quality products for an amazing price, all of their products are affordable!!! This is spa treatment quality products that people can truly afford! Try them, you won’t regret it!.
Reviewed in the United States on March 11, 2019 I was recommended a Vitamin C serum by my esthetician so I picked up this one because I love Mario Badescu products. I am impressed for the price of this product, it has amazing benefits.
My skin feels hydrated and renewed. The bottle says to use every other night or a few times a week and I would agree, I feel if I used it too often my skin might be overwhelmed because it is a strong vitamin c formula.
Overall I am happy. I use at night and in the morning my skin is happy, blemish’s are calmed and slowly being corrected and my texture is soft.
vitamin c contributes to the cream that is more liquid, I like it because I have oily skin and after putting on makeup it does not leave my skin shiny. I don’t like creams to have a smell and this one doesn’t.
It is the success and I am going to buy another bottle. I also like the presentation because you only get the right amount you don’t contaminate the rest of the cream.

This product does exactly what it says in the description. I have dehydrated (not dry) skin. I was looking for a cream to put moisture back into my skin but I didn’t want my skin to feel clogged and greasy or oily.
I used to use Tatcha and loved their products but now that I am a Mum I need to focus my finances on other things. I also tried another cream that was recommended but it clogged my pores and felt like I needed to reapply it throughout the day.
This cream though is amazing and the price tag is just as amazing. The cream is lightweight, absorbs quickly into the skin, doesn’t clog my pores and doesn’t leave me oily or greasy. My skin feels instantly smoother and more plump and it feels like that all day long.
The only down side is the smell, it reminds me of cheap cleaning products used in a public toilet (that being said it is not overly strong and goes away once the cream has been absorbed – please don’t let the smell out you off from buying this amazing product).
After testing out different face products for combination skin, it seems that the best approach is to use a light moisturizer or gel in the morning, followed by a heavier cream at night. In terms of specific products, the Oil-Free Moisture Lotion from Cetaphil seems to be a good option for the morning, while the Ultra Facial Cream from Kiehl’s is a good choice for the evening.
When it comes to face washes, the best approach is to use a gentle cleanser that won’t strip away the natural oils from your skin. The CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser is a good option, as it is designed for people with sensitive skin.
In terms of scrubbing, it is best to use a gentle exfoliator a few times a week to avoid irritating your skin. The St. Ives Apricot Scrub is a good choice for this.
Overall, the best approach for combination skin is to use light, gentle products that won’t strip away the natural oils from your skin.
