20 Best Eyeshadow For Dark Skin (2023 Updated)

I can see why some people love this palette, and some don’t understand the hype. You really have to love pink eyeshadow looks, because the entire palette leans extremely mauve/pink/purple; even the brown shades have that coolness to them.

Most of the glitter/shimmer shades have a ton of fall out so I always use a finger to apply them, use an eyeshadow primer and do my face makeup last. The glitter in them really benefits from a glitter glue, and I find a lose a lot of the intensity once I blend them out.

I usually have to apply a few layers to get the pigmented, shimmery effect I want. I wish some of the lighter shades were more satin-finish than glittery, especially the shade self love. The mattes blend beautifully and are very pigmented.

They are some of my favourite shades. I use cherished, radiate, happiness, serenity, and precious the most, in my crease and outer corner, and switch out the shimmer shades for my lid based on the look/intensity I’m going for that day.

I’m personally obsessed with how cool-toned they are, and how well they make my hazel eyes pop. Aura and gratitude are slightly more warm and a bit boring (I already have shades like these), and I rarely use mantra simply because it is dark for an “every day” look (though it’s nice as an eyeliner).

I haven’t used love stone yet, and I don’t really intend to. Every time I use cosmic love, I get compliments on my eye look. Overall, I’m happy with my purchase and have used the palette pretty much every day for the last two weeks.

Just be away that a lot of the looks end up looking very similar because it’s all very pink/purple, and you might have to play around with the shimmer shades to figure out how best to use them based on how makeup behaves on your particular eyelids.

If you like pink and purple eye looks, and don’t already have a lot of those shades in your collection, I think you’d enjoy this palette and think it’s worth it.

SOLD! 😆 🤣 I couldn’t wait to get back to my hotel room to try it. Well, I tried it, even how she said but I just wasn’t getting the results I had wanted/hoped for. UNTIL I decided to try a different method.

THENNNN, I go in with one or multiple, Huda Matte and Metal melted shadows, I usually use the MATTE side French Lace & bring that from the inner corner of my eyes, to about the middle and it stops diagonally.

THEENNNN I “slide/dab” ultraviolet only on top of the Matte shade, using the same brush, rinse & shake excess water,.

The removal of Naked and Naked2–wildly more representative and diverse palettes in a collection that served a whole spectrum of people and colors—was flat out a terrible move. The novelty options that have popped up in replacement are either so niche and/or poor quality formula they’re not even fun little detours, let alone anything like a replacement.

The lack of the colors from the discontinued palettes as singles is made worse by the fact that the single eyeshadows available have suffered a formula and packaging change that’s wrong on every possible way.

My first non-drugstore makeup when I was maybe 12 was a UD eyeshadow. I loved it, and the brand, for over a decade. These moves, ever since the original Naked was taken down (and replaced with lesser shades, poorer texture AND no brush?!), have made the beans not only inaccessible, but just…sad.

It would be lovely if you’d reassess what your customers actually want. The one good thing to say about this is the palette is that the one I got still had the old formula and went on smooth. I don’t think newer ones do from places like Sephora, so that’s likely out the door soon (or else, I’d suspect).

The colors are so PINK and similar across the board it doesn’t provide for hood blends or contrasts, no artistry. Nothing that used to make Urban Decay…Urban Decay. I wish THAT brand would make a comeback.

omg this product is so nostalgic. i had this since i was 13 and i used it for so much. the lighter colors id use for setting powder with concealer and works well. and rhe dark colors for eyebrows or smokey eyes.

the only problem is that it doesnt last long and isnt as pigmented which is why its a 3 star.

I would almost give this product 4 stars BC for its price ($1. 50) it can’t be beat. Ok I did change to 4 stars. Guys, this product is so much better than any eyeshadow that I have seen come from this brand ever.

10 years later and this company is really stepping up its game. Also, I have dropped this product very hard on hardwood floors and its still in like new shape. This product does kick up some dust but for the price point you won’t see any better.

Wearing these shadows alone I got around 6-7 hours of wear without noticable fading of any kind. With a drugstore brand eye primer. 8-10 hours. So all and all I am really impressed by this product. It isn’t perfect by any means but it is a major league improvement from the last time I tried their eyeshadow 10 years ago.

Gorgeous for Smokey eyes! The color range is beautiful but there is a ton of kickback! A lot of product is wasted but if you care about pigment and performance, that’s fine. Personally I like to maintain my pallets clean and this formula almost makes it impossible.

But most importantly is beautiful on the eyes. Some shades are creamy and the lighter ones are a bit chalky. Overall I love this pallet and will continue to use it!.

The packaging was nice and the colors flowed together very well in my opinion. I normally use #morphe pallets so I’m used to higher pigment. There was a lot of fall out and hardly any pigment, after using primer I had to apply several times and could STILL see through to my lid.

Very disappointed with the darker colors. I will continue to use on days when I want a more natural look, but probably won’t purchase again. #ulta #KylieJenner #Kyliecosmetics.

I picked up the white/grey/black version on Amazon for a few bucks. I didn’t expect much, but I was really pleasantly surprised. The shadows are buttery soft, and blend really well. The black isn’t the “blackest” but they’re all still decently pigmented.

I wear those colors everyday and it’s Really hard to find that color combination-no one seems to wear cool tones anymore, it’s all about the brown/nude look 😣. I can easily use this for my everyday look.

I’m really happy to have discovered these, as they’re so inexpensive, I have one in my purse, car, vanity and downstairs bathroom (I tend to do my makeup all over the place 😁). Btw, I do own a lot of high end eyeshadow palettes: Dior, Victoria Beckham, Guerlain, etc and obviously this doesn’t compare to those, but I still think it’s good enough to use for daily wear.

I also have the L. A. Girl palette comprised of colorful shimmer colors in a white plastic palette, it’s kind of a dupe for the ColourPop Hue (something?) one. I really like it as well, I can do my standard grey look and blend in one of these for a muted pop of color.

I’ve been impressed by this brand lately.

Love a good matte liquid eyeshadow and these are pretty good. I find the formula very similar to the stila suede matte liquid eyeshadows. They dry down to a nice powdery feel and don’t stay tacky at all.

You don’t need much, just swipe a bit where you want it most concentrated and be sure to have a good large shader brush like the luxie 209 or the Firma Beauty 204 wide blender eyeshadow brush at the ready to pat, spread blend.

These types of brushes I find are the best for cream and liquid shadows. If you don’t have those particular ones, just look them up on google image so you can get an idea of the type of brush I’m referring to.

I also suggest doing one eye at a time as this is a fairly quickly drying formula. I place a couple swipes on the center of my eyelids and then blend upwards and outwards towards my outer corners. Just be careful where you place it because it can leave a line if you’re not quick enough to blend, that’s why I just stick to the lower middle of my eyelids and blend out, you can always place more as they seem to layer fine.

I like using these for a quick wash of color over my lids, I haven’t tried any intricate looks with them. I haven’t had this crease or fade on me and I almost never remember to use an eye primer, just my foundation or concealer usually.

This shade Tiramisu is a lovely cool toned mauvey, purplely, greige. I find these so quick and easy to use when you’re in a rush but also want to look like you put some effort into your appearance, lol.

And you can easily jazz up any of these liquid shadows with a shimmer, metallic or glitter over top with a couple dabs with your ring finger of your favorite shimmery powder shades or another shimmer/glitter liquid shadow, either or doesn’t matter, powders layer over top very nicely as do liquids.

They stay put all day and just give a nice, polished look on more natural days.

I’m writing this review with both of my eyelids in red and in pain after I had to wipe off this eyeshadow again and again after trying to make this product work. I bought this product thinking to make my make up routine simpler.

As a cream eyeshadow, I thought I could just apply with my fingers and I’m good to go. But that’s not the case at all, I bought the colour chocolate wine, and I was super excited about this colour after seeing how beautiful it looks on the model’s eye, the colour looked so smooth.

First of all, when I opened the tube, there’s no chocolate smell at all like it advertised! A huge disappointment! But that’s not a big deal, not that I bought it for the smell. The first time I applied it with my finger, unbelievably difficult to blend, unbelievably patchy, I couldn’t accept as I had such high expectations for this product.

So after first time I failed to make it work, I watched so many videos on YouTube how other people used it, and decided to give it another go because I desperately wanted it to work. The second time I tried with eye primer on and applied with a brush, it became much easier to blend and less patchy, however it is still so patchy compare to most of my eyeshadows no matter how much I try to blend it, it’s still patchy.

the worst thing is, the more you blend it, it becomes even patchier??? I just gave up, I bought this thought I could save some time, but I end up looking like a panda while I have spent way more time compared to a using a normal eyeshadow.

I’ve always loved too faced and their products, but definitely not thus time, huge disappointment, wouldn’t recommend this product, at least not the colour I bought, I’m thinking to try another colour maybe it will work better but I’m sacred its just gonna be the same.

Ive been in lockdown for 2 months now so the possibility of going in to test this was not anytime soon, so I asked for a little sample of this to test as a new creaseproof eye primer. First off, this did not dry out in the little sample pots at all, I’ve had it for a week and the tiny little dab is still going! Second, the colour payoff.

Wow, just wow. It’s so amazing and true to colour and you really don’t need much! And third, the longwear test. So I have inheritly oily eye lids and I’ve been trying to find my best crease proof. I tried this one in a few ways – on its own, setting powder over it on its own, with shadow on top and with shadow sprayed with setting spray on top and dusting with finishing powder again.

I also tried it with cream and powder shadows. It definitely lasted better with a powder shadow over the top, with or without setting spray. For me, the cream shadows on top creased and when I applied it without anything on top, it creased pretty quickly but I was having a particularly bad day (extra oilier lids).

I’ll definitely be picking this up in a few shades because it helps set the base of my Smokey eye and everything blended so well with it. I can definitely see myself wanting to use these as a base for many looks or on their own.

I have a big collection of cream and liquid shadows, many of which are matte. There is a lack of emollience in this formula that when this product dries down it’s like a powdery crackled Sahara desert.

If you have any texture to your lids this will only enhance that problem. I have tried this product twice, I bought it a few years ago and decluttered it. I recently repurchased to give it another chance because I love the color and same thing, I’m going to declutter it.

I wish the dry down didn’t become so ridiculously dried out, the neutral colors are exactly what I love for daily 5 min office-appropriate makeup. If the formula changes I will give it another shot, but right now this isn’t for me.

I will still recommend this product to people who don’t have texture on their lids because when it dries it does NOT budge and it lasts all day. It’s beautiful. But it’s too matte for me.

I absolutely love this eyeshadow. I have the shades Game Over and Vintage Beauty. Both are beautiful colors that help me achieve a very natural makeup look for every day, but can easily be layered for more pigment.

Although I love these, they are not budge-proof. I have very oily eyelids and these won’t necessarily stay matte all day for me; however, since I go for a natural look with light layers, it still doesn’t look bad as it starts collecting in my crease.

I just lightly tap out the eyeshadow again and move on with my day! That being said, I don’t think you will be disappointed purchasing this product. These are a great find that almost feels like Ulta’s best kept secret.

A must in my book!.

Sephora, THANK YOU for such a nifty little palette for such a fantastic price! I can’t say enough nice things this purchase. First and foremost: FINALLY, someone ‘Gets It’: A larger pan for base color! This palette has mostly lighter and medium colors, so this is a great choice if you’re looking to use up other eyeshadow pans that are darker, and want an all-around, use with everything, basic shadow palette.

It mixes well with everything, other brands, wet and dry, and natural or synthetic bristle eyeshadow brushes. The color payoff/pigment is okay, given the price point… Fallout also okay: To minimize this, I have discovered a very light spritz of water helps tremendously.

Overall, this is a fantastic beauty score! Thanks again, Sephora! This is a keeper….

I just purchased my 3rd version of these palettes, and it just might be my favorite. I now own Cool Light, Cool Medium, and I just picked up Light Warm. These are excellent little palettes! They are just the perfect curations of nice everyday neutrals, in small portable packaging.

I love everything about these! They are the perfect size for travel, and the packaging is nice and sturdy for travel. You can get a full look from each palette, or mix and match them for more tone options.

The quality is great. The pan sizes are decent for being a smaller palette. And, best of all they are a great value! Seriously, try these palettes!.

I order two palettes, one in Light Warm and the other in Light Cool. I was very excited when I opened it up and loved the way the colors looked. However, I was highly disappointed with both. I had seen someone post that they loved this palette, and it had good reviews, so I thought I would give it a try.

I always apply a primer to my eyelids and the pigmentation of this eyeshadow has no depth. It is super light and does not build well. The shimmer shades hardly show up at all. The formula is super dry and does not look good on my skin.

The fallout is horrible! More of it ends up under my eyes than on the lid. I will not be repurchasing this palette.

Had this before and it’s very good value for money. It’s hard to get the matte look in an eyeshadow but this does the trick and ticks all them boxes. I dislike a shimmer eyeshadow as when a lady perspires it looks horrible on the face.

These eyeshadows stay on the face well. It’s the third time I’ve had them but I really like this particular palette as it’s browns and beiges. They do them in other colors however I have not tried them yet.

I prefer the eyeshadows in this pack as they are 6 eyeshadows in a row and easy to put in my makeup bag. I know they do the same version in 12 eye Shadows in a row which may suit some form or variety of colours.

I really would recommend these eyeshadows.

As I said before, but for some reason it never appeared on ebay, I love this product. The shades of green are gorgeous! Not sure why the store said that I gave a negative review. It’s perfect, one shade in particular is absolutely divine, but I adore them all! Would recommend and I now have 2 different colourways of these palletes!.

Exactly what I needed. This little palette is perfect for handbag or travelling. I have tried everywhere to get a selection of matte greys with a great pigment in a small palette. This fits the bill in all ways and especially as it is so inexpensive.

I am so delighted with my palette and the quick service that I have ordered another 2 as I have a habit of losing makeup on my travels. Always favourite pieces that have been discontinued so need backups.

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve purchased Ulta’s single eyeshadow in the color “Coconut”. I wear it almost every day. I also have “Pure as Snow” and “Suede”. All three shadows are matte, and I love the colors and the formula – smooth, pigmented and long-lasting.

I have tried some of the shimmers, but in my opinion, they are not as spectacular. Shimmer eyeshadows somehow end up making my eyes red. This has never happened with the matte shadows. Please, Ulta, if you are taking requests, add more MATTE colors to the collection.

Two colors that would love to see are a mid-tone green and a blue/violet!.

Ulta’s single eyeshadows are some of my favorites from my collection. They have a large selection of shadows in a variety of textures. I will say that Ulta’s eyeshadows can be hit and miss, but I’ve found that if I’m patient you can always get the more temperamental shadows they have to work for you.

Roaring 20s by Ulta is one of my all time favorite shadows I own, and that’s saying a lot as my singles alone total well over 200. This beautiful cool toned taupe shadow is so versatile I like it in my crease, in my outer V and on my whole lid when looking for a cool toned Smokey look.

It blends beautifully. Builds nicely, even when paired with another color,and goes onto the lid without any help from a wet brush. Absolutely a mind-blowing eyeshadow.

Hesitated because I have a negative reaction to so many brands of eyeshadow. Did not have any reaction to this brand. Due to having very fair skin, I have to use caution with eyeshadows in the brown family.

If there is much gray tone in them, it is really pronounced on me. If you are not familiar with this, but do not like the way some brown shadows look on you, talk to a cosmetics person who understands the shade compositions and can direct you to the correct brown shade for your eyelid skin.

The Ulta Desire brown shade does not show up gray on me. Formula is long lasting and blendable.

UOMA Beauty Swatch Review Product: Savage Black Magic Color Palette RPR:$44. 00 Review: This is a 1st impression with the Uoma Beauty brand. I found out about them late last year while researching black girl friendly makeup brands.

I liked the vibrant pigmentation in their shadows and especially lipsticks. I also loved their name and business motto. Meaning of the Business name is: UOMA (pronounced Oh-Ma) means Beautiful in Igbo, the native language of Southeastern Nigeria.

The Business motto is:”This is not multicultural beauty; this is simply beauty, and all are welcome to this beautiful tribe. ” All are welcome! I love it. OUMA Beauty has been around for 15 years. They are more famously known for launching at 51 shade range foundation line.

Fifty One shades! 51 shades! 5-1 shades! Yessss! Lovin’ it. They are currently in Ulta Beauty stores as well as their online store: uomabeauty. com Majority of the items are priced at an affordable price point ($18-$44) for the level of quality you receive.

I’m truly impressed by this brand. The Savage Black Magic eyeshadow palette is beautifully crafted giving you Mattes, shimmery and glitters. This palette will not sit on your shelf waiting for a special occasion.

You will be dipping into this palette daily!.

I did a gradient look on my lid using the bottom row of this palette and liked how it looked. I feel the palette is missing a transition shade as well as a brow bone highlight. I used another palette to supplement what I was missing in this palette, which I dislike having to do.

My eyes didn’t like the top row, the shimmer shades. There was too much fallout and it irritated my eyes. This would be a nice palette to use in conjunction with a neutral palette for when you want a pop of color OR if you like shimmers and don’t have a problem with fallout.

It wasn’t for me. I returned it.

This is a really beautiful palette and it’s not that expensive I love the bright colors. Especially the glittery shades. I have a hooded lid and usually need cream shadow but I used a base with these and was able to wear them.

I haven’t experimented enough with the other colors but I saw a makeup artist Katie Jane Hughes on Instagram do a really beautiful look with 2 colors which are worth it for the palette alone!! I am very nervous to wear bright color shadows but these looks so gorgeous and natural even though they are bright.
