20 Best Eyeliner For Small Eyes (2023 Updated)

I love this eyeliner!! It’s super easy to put on & very pigmented !! I love the feel & design of the applicator tip but I have had 3 of these & each time I would say “okay maybe it was defective or I did something wrong”.

but with each pen; after about 2wk or so of use the tip would stop loading ink!! Or eyeliner lol! But it’s like when your pen runs dry but you see it has plenty inside & you have to shake it &store it upside down to get it to work.

that’s this eyeliner!! Only instead of scribbling to make it work you have to Close it; point it down &&Shake it vigorously to get it flowing again! I’m not sure what the issue is but if it got worked out this would be my favorite!! Although it does require touch ups! It is not a waterproof//stay on but it looks sharp &perfect with flawless application!! Except when it goes dry! But then I’ll use the tip with my other liquid eyeliners to apply them It’s THAT good!!.

I have hooded eyes so the thin style pen is exactly perfect! It lines my lashes and creates the perfect wings. I hope they never change this to a thick felt type pen- plenty of other products to use if that’s what you’re looking for.

Is hooded lid ladies need a thin line so we don’t black our eyes into oblivion!! This is the only eyeliner I use. I have no issues with it going on smoothly and it stays all day and night. I have relatively oily skin and never have problems with it coming off or anything like that.

I always have it in my purse just in case but I’ve never had to reapply so I don’t even know why I bother. Trauma from previous liners that don’t stay I guess. Lol. I will use this until they don’t make it anymore.

Please don’t ever stop making it!!.

I am a major Jane Iredale fan, using more than a dozen products from this terrific line. But as much as I want to love this eye pencil, I am disappointed in this one. On the positive side: Colors are nice — the taupe is natural and great for everyday wear — and the pencil doesn’t irritate sensitive eyes.

However — the color smears not long after application, and doesn’t last more than a couple of hours if you wear other makeup near your eyes, including concealer. Definitely not waterproof or smear proof.

That’s a deal breaker for me.

I bought this eyeliner in Midnight Blue with the hope of being able to wear pencil eyeliner that doesn’t make my eyes itch. I have tried so many other pencil eyeliners ‘for sensitive skin’ but none of them have worked for me.

I love the color of this pencil, its silky application, and most of all, the fact that it does not make my eyes burn. The downside is that the color transfers to my upper eyelid and fades quickly (I have hooded eyes, for reference).

It could be a good option if you are going for a less defined, smoky eye look. I don’t think I will buy other colors.

I have gone through so many liquid eyeliners over many, many years, but the formulas keep changing so I had to find a new liner that worked for me. I had zero expectations but I love the soft brush on this liquid liner, it has a great pointed shape, the bristles are even, and it glides on the eyelid nicely.

The not great part is that the liner seems slightly watery, so I find that I need to apply two coats to get a fully opaque black line. I also make sure to fully dry the liner but no matter what, after an hour, I always have black smudges.

I don’t think I’ve found my holy grail liner, but overall I’m satisfied with the product and am glad I tried it out.

I really like this eyeliner but can you PLEASE make it in other colors like navy, deep green, dark brown, plum. black is so very harsh and that is the main reason I do not use this black eyeliner all that often especially since I am over 65.

we need less harsh colors.

I really love this very creamy eye pencil – especially in the perfect Violet Damask shade – it’s like a soft blue-purple-black. I have had more people ask me about which eyeliner i use than any other make up product.

It is slightly on the soft side and can be a bit smudgy to apply. I have to keep it sharpened – but not to a point or it just breaks off. It’s really like a cream in a pencil. I have really sensitive eyes and this has never caused me any problems either.

I love so many Chantecaille products – but I have to have this eyeliner with me at all times and I always buy a spare!.

I have used this pencil for quite a few years now – I used to use slate – but they ran out of the colour – so I had to try a different colour and tried Amethyst – I love Amethyst – I have dark brown eyes and sandy gold hair – so harsh black is too strong for my colour.

Amethyst is warm – and gives me that outling that I am looking for. I use it on top and bottom lash line. A beautiful product and if you haven’t tried this one yet. Give it a go – I don’t think you will be disappointed.

Anyway, onto the review! The first thing I noticed was that this was a brush tip liner which you don’t find too many of. The KVD liner is the most well known brush tip liner and I happened to have that to compare which surprisingly hasn’t dried out since it’s at least 2-3 years old lol.

The brush length is the same and they both feel the same. The brush literally looks the same as KVD. I did notice that the Joah liner applied slightly darker than KVD, but again not sure if the KVD’s age had anything to do with it.

It’s definitely waterproof and thankfully it comes off just as easily with micellar water or cleansing balm. I plan to use it more and will recommend for anyone who had issues with the KVD liner because this is literally a 1 for 1 dupe for half the price.

This Hourglass eyeliner is super creamy and easy to apply, I like that you can screw up the eyeliner for more, instead of sharpening. I have used it as an eyeshadow base and as eyeliner. It’s nice, howeeevvveerr, I’d you are tan/medium dark, the shade Solstice basically blends into your skin tone.

I was hoping for a gold pop and I didn’t really get that with this shade. It was a bit dull and hard to see on my skin tone. While I can appreciate that a luxury brand like Hourglass has put out a quality eyeliner, there are other eyeliner at much lower price points that are practically the same quality.

If you are an Hourglass fan, then go for it. If you are not brand specific when it comes to eyeliner, there isn’t anything overly special about this that warrants this price point but you probably won’t be disappointed if you get it.

I really liked that this bronze is more of a true golden brown than VBB’s, which has dirty undertones. Unfortunately, while prettier in a swatch, it was almost too close to my brown eyes and it actually drew attention to itself, looking odd.

Aside from shade preference, it wore off quickly, leaving a sparkly bronze trail around my eye area. Yes, I have sensitive eyes and I’m a face toucher, but not all eyeliners move around quite this easily.

I would estimate it lasted 2 hours, at most, before being nearly 100% transferred from eyes to rest of face! This has recurred on 3 wearings with different preps – bare face, skincare + base and just minimal skincare.

I expect better performance from HG and a waterproof formula.

If you’re looking for a long lasting, creamy, pigmented eyeliner this definitely does the trick. I have the shade Cave and it’s a very rich chocolate brown, the color and formula are exactly what I like in an eyeliner pencil.

Total 5/5 for formula. What I don’t like is the price for the amount. I get it, Hourglass is a luxury brand so prices are higher. But this is absurd. There’s a third of what you get typically for more than what competitive products are charging.

Also, the pencil isn’t luxurious or weighted it feels cheap and flimsy. The point dulls down so you need a sharpener to sharpen it but it doesn’t have one built in like other retractable pencils have.

I am a Tarte girl all the way and these eye pencils are absolutely fantastic. I bought them the first time when the colors were the same except for the burgundy and they go on like silk. There’s no stretching your eyelid to the side of your head to apply.

That is horrible for your skin. These glide on so smoothly and stay all day. I’ve never had a problem with them and I have allergies especially my eyes. Many eye products just make my eyes tear constantly.

No problem like that with these pencils. I was just amazed at how long lasting they are. I highly recommend these pencils especially if you have allergies that make you look like you’ve been crying all day.

Tarte is outstanding!!.

This eyeliner is very easy to apply, it goes on smoothly with no tugging. It stays on all day and seems to be waterproof too! I bought the lighter color so it wasn’t as pigmented as I would like, but its because that particular color just doesn’t have as many pigments in it.

Anxious to try the black or brown colors now that I know how smoothly it glides on. I would definitely recommend this to others.

I really like this cream eyeliner. First of all, the packaging is so cute and sleek. I like how it’s a twist so a sharpener is not needed. The formula is creamy enough to glide on but it’s not runny.

It is very easy and smooth to apply and to correct if needed. It lasts a full day (7-8 hours) on my eyes without smudging, and even if it does fade it doesn’t look splotchy. I use it by itself but if I want the wind particularly sharp I will pick up the product with an eyeliner brush.

The color is a beautiful vibrant brown that it’s easily become my favorite for an every day look. It is pigmented and noticeable but a little more subtle than a black liner.

Complementary from Kulfi Beauty I was given their new Underlined Kajal Eyeliner in color Cheeky Chiku in exchange for my honest review. This eyeliner glides on so easily without pulling or tugging. It holds up all day without bleeding, smudging or budging.

It even held up well in the summertime heat and humidity. It is waterproof and comes in a variety of colors. I like the pigmented brown Cheeky Chicku color. It is infused with Aloe Vera and Vitamin E for moisture.

It is vegan and cruelty-free. I like that it never has to be sharpened…just twist up from the bottom for more.

The kajal eyeliner is a great eyeliner. I have been using Japanese eye liner due to the supreme longevity of the formula, but those are hard to find and or I have to wait a long time for it to ship. So glad I was able to find something I could buy in the US.

I am quite impress with this one. This liner was able to endure high 90s weather without smudging. I got the brown color because I wanted something a little lighter than balk f or the summer. Great formula.

You can smudge it before it dries down and once it dries it’s unstoppable.
