20 Best Eyelid Cleanser For Blepharitis (2023 Updated)

I have suffered with eye conditions for years: allergy eyes, itchy eyes, eye injury (now scarred), blepharitis, dry eyes, you name it. I have been prescribed a variety of eye drops and eye creams. Most of them did not relieve my conditions, and a few were temporary relief for a particular symptom.

I was skeptical when I was searching for holistic ways to alleviate my eye conditions and stumbled upon your Eye Love site. I read about the products, the reviews and product ingredients. I had read on some of the other sites that cleaning your lids and lashes properly with the right ingredients would alleviate many of my issues.

The problem was, however, that you would have to try and obtain a long list of ingredients they listed. I was unsure about this. With hesitation, I purchased the Heyedrate Lid and Lash Cleanser, feeling a bit hesitant but liking the fact that the ingredients were 100% natural and contained no chemical additives.

Well, thanks to your efficiency, my bottle arrived in two days! Wow! i started using the cleanser as directed and have already seen a vast improvement in three days! This is like a miracle! I noticed yesterday and today that I no longer have itchy eyes all day or grainy feeling eyes for at least half of the day.

Instead of arising to crusty eyes and having tears constantly roll down my cheeks, I have no crusty eyes and no constantly tearing eyes. No longer having teary eyes baffles me, as my eyes actually feel more hydrated! I am going to purchase the tea tree oil products as well, as I am a huge believer in the power of essential oils.

So for full disclosure, I received a free sample of OCuSOFT Lid Scrub Allergy Eyelid Cleanser in exchange for an honest review. I do suffer from seasonal allergies and pet dander allergies so I knew it would be useful for me eventually, but I cannot tell you how much these came through for me in an unexpected time.

I woke up one day with swollen and itchy eyelids that continued on for more than two days. I have no clue what caused the reaction, but I do know that I was suffering! I used this once, just once, and my eyes improved so much! No more pain and no more itching.

These are so lovely for tired and puffy eyes, with ingredients green tea and tea tree oil. I also love that it’s a leave on formula so it keeps working for you even after application. It’s so soothing to the eyelids (which drops will not help with!) and helps to clean the affected area too.

I live in a very rural area, so my allergies can be rather severe this time of year. I struggled to find full relief for my irritated eyes , which are extremely sensitive. Nearly every kind of eye drop would burn my eyes and leave them red and swollen except for the drops I get from my optometrist.

This product is created by an opthamologist so is safe, and the inclusion of a tea-tree ingredient kills demodex mites which can be a big cause of itchy and irritated eyes, and a feeling of something in the eye.

Use at night – apply to a soft cotton pad and wipe over the eye and surrounding areas. Then use the other side of the pad with more product and go over the eyelid and lash area a second time. You can also do the same process in the morning.

It’s a great product, especially if you do have a problem with eye mites or other parasites or infection. Do not use on broken skin or wounds as the initial feeling is fairly strong – this subsides, but would probably sting and inflame broken skin.

Shake the bottle before use, and when pressing the nozzle don’t go too hard, as you will waste product and you dont need a lot. You can also use this product for the whole face if you have similar issues all over the face.

This is a WONDERFUL product in helping deal with Demodex!!! DONT PAY MORE THAN $15. And it last a Long, Long Time!!! Cliradex Neostrata sent me their foaming cleansers to try out. The Neostrata foaming cleanser is also an exfoliator which I’m not sure how it’s an exfoliator because it’s just a foam cleanser it does work but I like the Cliradex cleanser better it has a minty tingle feeling after you wash your face I always make sure to use moisturizer afterwards because the foam cleansers dry out my face more then regular.

This product was recommended by my doctor because I have two dry eye, conditions, MGD and blepharitus. I squeeze a dab of foam on my fingertip and rub both my upper and lower eyelids with it. It’s suggested to use it while bathing, and not necessary to rinse the product after it’s applied.

It depends on whether I get any of it inside my eyes whether I rinse afterwards. I remember to use it when I’m washing my face. Eyelids are something people tend to ignore during face washing. Definitely be sure to get the Plus Platinum because the regular cleanser tends to be a little coarse.

A little goes a long way with this eye scrub.

This is a wonderful product. My ophthalmologist prescribed the OCuSOFT Plus Platinum lid scrub wipes, which are sold in a package of 30. I was very happy to find the same formula as a foam lid scrub.

I just pump a little bit on my clean fingertip and clean both eyes; this is a leave-on formula, so I’m good to go. I expect that this bottle will last two to three times as long as a pack of the wipes, making it much more economical.

I’ve been using the product for a week now, in conjunction with hot packs, and my eyes are doing great. There is no sign of blocked meibomian glands, and my eyes are not as itchy and irritated.

I started having problems with eye chalazions and needed a good solution to help keep the eyes clean from bacteria. I love this product because it does just that and I don’t have to rinse it off like with other similar products.

I took a chance. The packaging was slightly different, so I called the OcuSoft manufacturer and they said it was the UK packaging, but same product. But they did say to beware of generic versions that may use stronger chemicals you don’t want near your eyes.

Use this on the outside of your eyelids (eyes closed) once or twice a day. And wipe GENTLY. There are 2 versions – OcuSoft PLUS does not need to be rinsed off, but the original OcuSoft wipes need to be rinsed off with water.

They come individually packaged to stay moist, 30 to a box. My doctor said it is 10 times more gentle than baby shampoo. After the first time using it, my eyes felt cleaner and vision was clearer.

This is my third order for the Occusoft Plus Eye Pads. I have occular rosacea. I was “washing my eyes” twice a day. Optometrist gave me samples of the Occusoft Pads to try. I have very sensitive eyes and was not sure if I should use them.

I tried them and was amazed to have a better feel of comfort for my dry eyes. The “Plus” is that there is no rinseing required so makes the use go more quickly. I would recommend that you buy with ebay because pads are much less expensive from them.

I was looking for something to help my eyes in the morning to relieve the puffy, congested, and itchiness that was also gentle. Using just water was never enough, and I always had to follow with a lotion, even though I have oily skin.

I was amazed with the feeling after the first use! My eyes felt “awake” for the first time in several years. And it doesn’t over dry my lids. I use this cleanser in the morning and before bed, it just feels good to finally have balanced and clean feeling eyelids.

This is a really lovely product. I bought it on a bit of a whim when it was on sale, but now I will never be without it! I use washable mascara and so rarely used makeup remover, I was just used to a bit of a smudge being left around my eyes after washing my face.

Who knew eye wash was a thing?! I didn’t realize how much of a difference this would make to my skin. The actual cleanser is so sensitive to my skin that even if it gets into my eyes, it doesn’t burn.

These wipes were recommended for Blepharitis by an eye surgeon. They work! As the wipes are quite large, and a clean wipe is needed for each eye, I cut the wipes in half and retain one half in the ‘pouch’, to use later in the day.

The cut half I cut in half again so I have a separate and clean wipe for each eye. They are rather expensive otherwise as there are only 20 wipes in a pack. They are, however, very effective.

After suffering months with itchy, scratch and watery eyes, this wipe have improved the condition markedly. My eyes are considerably more comfortable and it’s make my whole life feel so much better. Note it’s not an instant fix, and daily use take a couple of weeks to take effect but it’s very work the effort and trouble.

After 2 years of suffering blepharitis I feel I have found an effective treatment. I have had prescriptions on 3 occasions to no effect. I use wipes twice daily as well as eye bath solution. I have changed to Superdrug’s own eye wash and the Tea Tree wipes on my last order and can feel the difference.

After getting steroid shot for my arthritis the remodel mite went haywire and were overpopulated causing a condition known as crusty eyes blepharitis. A bacterial eye infection results if not treated promptly.

It was recommended by my optometrist to get the eyelid cleansing pads. The demised mites are killed by tea tree oil. These cleansing pads have the most concentrated tea tree oil for your eyes. They cleared up the blepharitis.

And keep the eye demodex mites in check by clearing them from your lashes.

Demodex mites are living on every human being. They live in the hair follicles of the face and scalp. At night, they are active crawling around and feasting on the oils on our bodies. Since they have no anus, they do not get rid of waste.

Instead, they die. It is horrifying when you see them under a microscope. Most times, the colonies are under control. But occasionally, they will become a problem causing the following symptoms: feeling of sand in the eyes, eyes burning, lots of “crust” in the lashes when awakening, and chronic red eyes.

Tea tree oil is the treatment of choice by doctors. It is antiseptic and kills the mites on contact. However, it is terribly irritating and can damage the delicate skin especially around the eyes if not used properly.

Cliradex contains tea tree oil in convenient single pack wipes. Twice a day, you simply wash your face with a gentle soap (can use baby shampoo), dry and gently wipe your eyelids and lashes (with eyes closed) from near the bridge of the nose to the opposite end.

Most infestations are cleared up in about a month. Severe infestations may take up to three months.

I will never use these wipes again. I applied it like it said and it burned so bad and bright tears to my eye! I couldn’t see to get a Kleenex to wipe the tears and 30 minutes later I still feel it. It did say it would leave a refreshing menthol feeling but this was awful.

I don’t know if it is because I have sensitive skin or not but it was awful, never again.

Firstly the smell is incredible with this product. Secondly it is so much easier to use than anything i have before. The wipes are good and work well but as an everyday product the gel seems to work better and i remember to use it more often.

I keep mine in the shower and use as part of my daily routine. I have seen such an improvement, I don’t get as much redness and not as much build up on my lashes. Also this doesn’t sting my eyes, some of the other wipes/Gels I have tried did and actually made everything more uncomfortable.

I have recommended this product to everyone I know. Fully recommend this to anyone suffering with Blepharitis.

Having suffered from Blepharitis for such a long time I tried so many products before finally being recommended this Gel and what a difference it has made! I use it every morning as part of my daily routine and my eyes no longer feel irritated or inflamed.

These are really good and much better than the spray product my ophthalmologist was recommending for my dry eyes. These do feel a little rough when you start using them but you get used to it and don’t notice it after that.

My eye lids haven’t felt this good in a long time. The only downside to this product is that it’s pricey. Still an amazing product I highly recommend!!.

I love these eyelid scrubs! I have very sensitive eyes. I get contact lens related red eyes and also have rosacea which causes eye inflammation. I use these scrubs at night to make sure all my eye makeup is off and my lids are super clean.

I bought this product with recommendation from my eye doctor. I tried it the the same I received it in the mail. I followed the directions on the box. After I finished washing my eyes they felt very good and relaxed.

My eyelids and lashes felt very clean. I will use it again but only as I need to. They also make this product in gel form which I have not been able to find. I do recommend this product to other consumers.

Was apparently old stock!? Worked but did not foam very much. Disappointed because it has become hard to find elsewhere. Became a member because we thought it might be a good place to get sterilid!?

I hoped this product would work better than washing with suds from dish soap. After one week, I haven’t noticed any difference. I used it twice daily. There are no problems, such as burning: I rinse very well in warm water.

I do expect to notice a good effect within the next week.

I have Blepharitis and I’ve been using the ZocuFoam Eyelid Cleanser for about 3 weeks in combination with the Zocushield. I use the cleanser twice per day (morning and evening). The Zocushield I also use twice per day until my eyes get better.

I think I’m getting very close to reducing the Zocushield to once per day. I was told I can use it more sparingly once I have less irritation. I’m very pleased with the results so far. My eyes are less itchy and irritated.

I felt like I had a foreign object in my eyes. And that feeling has gone away. I also take fish oil vitamins, use the heated Bruder Mask, and Hylo Dual Intense Eye Drops.

My eye doctor wants me to use this in addition to special vitamins for dry eye. Both products are pretty expensive. Fortunately a small amount of the Zocufoam goes a long way.

ZocuFoam seems to be working well as part of the treatment regime to treat my dry eyes, but in terms of satisfaction, I rather eat fried okra! Sadly it doesn’t help dry eyes the way ZocuFoam does.

I bought this for my daughter to use as her eyelashes would fall out all the time due to having blepharitis. Since using it twice daily for over a week she hasn’t had any fall into her eyes anymore. A mixture of loose ones taken by wiping and the formula working to reduce them falling out.

We went through the first bottle quite quick so we are working on using it moderately. Much cheaper to buy the bottle than buy the wipes version of this. Less waste and can be used for eye cleansing by anyone.

I was advised to use Blephasol to clean my eyelids as I have dry eye syndrome and blepharitis. Initially I used a solution of baby shampoo and water and although this would seem the cheaper option my eyes always felt sticky and not clean afterwards.

I have found Blephasol works so much better and my eyelids feel much more comfortable now. I would recommend anyone with these problems to at least try Blephasol and make up their own mind.

My husband I both use the heated eye mask. We find it soothing to our eyes, we are both over 80; yrs. old so our tired become very dry. In fact, we just ordered the eye mask for our daughter as well.

On my 2nd month. Use at night & 1st thing am before washing face with tea tree bar soap.They help my eyes feel cleaner. And love the lid & lash cleaner too!! Great job.

I’ve been using this for a month. It has only been masking the blepharitis I developed and not curing it. As long as I use it, it’s not itchy flaky or inflamed but as soon as I skip a treatment it comes back.

After a month of consistently using it, I would think I’d at least have some improvement, but no. It creates a dependency. BUT DO YOU KNOW WHAT HAS WORKED? A 15 minute, twice a day, organic raw honey application.

Just dip a wet q-tip in a little spoonful of raw organic honey and apply to the eyelash roots and lid. Let it sit for 15 minutes before washing off. I did this morning and night. I’m not needing the wipes as much and my symptoms are gradually disappearing.

Keep it up for a month or two. It’s so easy to do. It did make my eyes sting a little but it didn’t harm them at all. I suggest you try this if you’re getting discouraged with these wipes.

The OcuSoft Eyelid Scrub Allergy Pads are excellent. As an allergy sufferer I tend to get dry itchy eyes due to dried debris around my eyelids. I absolutely love this product because it keeps my eyelids clean while making them feel less irritation when I use the moist cleaning pad which is individually wrapped in a secure package.

Every year I suffer with the worst itchy, irritating, burny allergy eyes. I have used numerous allergy eye drops which only give minimal relief. A good friend of mine who’s a nurse suggested these eye products.

I’ve had Blepharitis for decades and used to scrub my lids per doctor’s orders with a Q-tip and baby shampoo. Works great until you stick your eye and get baby shampoo in your eyes. So much for “no more tears”.

In March 2021, I suddenly started getting intense bouts of blepharitis. My lids would become so swollen some days that it took an effort to keep my eyes open + the itchiness and pain made it difficult to concentrate on anything else.

I’ve been using ocusoft lid scrub for several years to control blepharitis to the point that you would never know that I even have that eye condition. I used to use Thera-Tears, but that product, though it works well, has in my opinion quality control issues, and is over-priced.

For several years I alternated day to day use of both products. Ocusoft is more cost effective and works just as well.

This is the only brand I will use for eye care products. It was recommended by my ophthalmologist, who is outstanding, and I love this brand. Everything they make is top quality and 100% safe and effective.

I never thought I needed an eyelid cleanser, but it turns out it’s a really great addition to my skincare regimen. My eyelids are painfully sensitive and prone to eczema flares, and this cleanser doesn’t cause ANY stinging or irritation.

It’s perfect to help remove your natural oils and any stubborn product you have- makeup, sunscreen, etc. Gentle and gets your delicate eyelid area cleansed without drying it out. I would recommend this for anyone to use.

I would rate this 3. 5 stars. The cleanser was easy to use and didn’t further irritate my eyes which was good. I noticed that it really dried out the skin around my eyes and made my eyelashes almost brittle so I would beware of that if you have dry skin.

I’ve used it consistently for a month but I still had buildup on the lash line so not sure if this is very effective. I’m trying out the pads next to see if those work better.
