20 Best Expanding Foam For Sculpting (2023 Updated)

I got these 8 inch white foam half balls (they are 3. 8″ x 7. 8″) I got 2 of them so if I wanted I could have done something that was round by putting toothpicks and glue to hold then together. I used one to do a floral arangement.

It was easy to remove the plastic around them and they are good quality. They are perfect for arts and crafts and family fun time together to be creative. I would recommend them to any one needing foam balls.

I will be buying more of all sizes to work on art projects through out the year, especially good for making Christmas ornaments. I got some fake flowers from the store and had a basket the half foam ball fit into and made a holiday themed center piece for the ce ter of the table for Easter dinner.

I will be doing this also for Christmas. It works perfect and the fake flowers stems went in perfect and they stand up and stay where I put them. I really love this company and the products they put out.

There are so many great uses for these FloraCraft half balls! I’ve used them for faux flower decorations in pretty planters. and now that my kids are making more school projects, we used these balls for those as well.

The foam is dense, so you can insert toothpicks, sticks, stems, etc. without worrying that they’ll become loose and fall out. You can also carve into the foam if you need to, and the structure doesn’t become weak.

A tip for parents whose kids need to make a planet for a school project: attach two half balls together with toothpicks and have your kid paint it as desired.

Looked long and hard for a product that would give dimension to card layers without resorting to the overly poofy foam stuff found everywhere. These 2 sized squares are easy to apply, stay stuck and provide enough dimension without the (unattractive) visual “layer gaps” in most other products.

They also allow a dimensional card to sneak under the USPS limits without extra postage. Love, love, love.

I use this daily without accumulating gunk from multiple uses of hairspray. Use this on towel dried hair right out of shower. And then daily until next shower. I have very light grey hair, and it is very short.

No discolor to gray hair. It does work on dry hair. For stronger hold if needed a light coat of a hairspray over the Phomollient will work. Personally, hairspray makes my scalp itch so I stay away from it whenever I can.

Aveda Phomollient allows me to go without hair spray.

I absolutely love this product. I have fine and frizzy 3B curls that are easily weighed down by products. This phonollient is a super light weight styling foam that leaves my curls well defined, bouncy, shiny, and full of volume with no frizz.

It is now my holy grail product to take care of my curls in addition to the light nutriplenish Aveda line. I used to use DevaCurl products for years, but after they had problems I searched high and low for a trustworthy and safe hair care line.

I am so glad I found Aveda! You will not regret buying this product.

Good for introducing students to carving 3D forms. This styrofoam is easy for younger students to enjoy. It can get a little dusty, so I would recommend doing it outside. We used pumpkin carving knives and sand paper to complete carvings of fish, butterflies and turtles.

It paints up well with tempera and is economical enough for students to do a few examples. I cut mine down into quarter sized pieces.

These FloraCraft bricks are perfect if you’re designing a specific type of arrangement. Seasonally, I create artificial flower arrangements for graves of loved ones who have passed. Though out in the elements, these bricks do not fall apart, keeping an arrangement in tact as it was designed.

I use these bricks for any and all design projects since they are so durable!.

Based on reviews by others, I had high hopes for this product. My hair is not overly thin but it is fine and I could use more volume and body. I have a fairly oily scalp with ends that can tend towards dryness if I don’t keep them conditioned (which I do).

I bought tge full size of this product and it made my scalp and mid lengths really oily / oilier. And didn’t add much volume. I have varied amount of product used, but had about same results. This doesn’t mean the product isn’t good but it’s definitely not the right match for me.

Obviously most others have had much better results.

I recently switched all my store brand products to try to help my scalp issues I was having. This foam is lightweight, goes on great and left me with perfectly styled hair all day. No frizz either. The bottle is bigger and I believe fairly priced for the amount of product.

I’m impressed for being my first time trying a new foam.

Very durable foam. I was using to make a floral arrangement in a galvanized tin and actually should have bought something softer for my project …but boy was I amazed at the strength of this foam. I’d be happy to purchase again for a job that requires heavy duty foam.

I feel like you could build a city out of this stuff!.

I use inverted vases for faux flower arrangements or to create a special scenery for someone and the foam (I decorate it) fits the vase top perfectly, I hot glue it in, and it’s makes for a more stable non sliding base.

You can make one for each holiday. Plus you can take a notch out of the foam to add mini lights inside but keep the battery pack on the outside.

So I feel as though a lot of people that are newer to audio principles sometimes come to the conclusion that acoustic foam panels are sound proof. They are not. What they do is dampen certain often unwanted frequencies.

It generally helps for tightening up recording, and making it so that monitoring is more accurate. These do that and do it fairly well. A good addition to reduce problematic room reverberation and reflections.

I like them.

Overall my whole experience buying my studio equipment including this foam was amazing and exciting. I can honestly say I don’t have anything negative to say about any of my equipment. I like everything really.

Great product. I’m always looking for this size of half-sphere for mould making. I appreciated the big size and how thick it was. Worked great for making the mould I needed. The only thing I didn’t like, was that I needed the external surface to be immaculate, and almost all of the spheres were very scratched.

It would be great if you find a way to exhibit these without all that damage happening, or maybe protecting them with something? <3.

The product is exactly what you’d expect from it. I bought it at my local Michaels, and since the product doesn’t have any type of protective plastic over it in-store, finding one that wasn’t scuffed was difficult.

But other than that, worked great for my architectural model.

I purchased this for my son’s project on Neptune and it is perfect because it’s light so we were able to paint it and glue it to the poster board w/o having to worry about it being too heavy. The only downfall for us what that, since it is hollow on the inside, we couldn’t poke our labeling toothpicks in too far or they would poke out the other side and move around.

If you cut it, like I did, you will end up with little pieces of foam all over the place and rough edges. The inside isn’t as smooth as the outside. This product is best used as a whole, not cut into segments.

It IS paintable and I used acrylic paint on it.

We used them in making snow globes with my students. They were easy to cut into curled, using an exacting knife. The tens we used, using hot glue, stayed on. However you must use a lot of hot glue because it melts the styrofoam at first.

This was a perfect find. I was looking for a piece of foam to use like batting in a privacy screen my sister made for me. This foam is easy to cut. It has a nice density. There is no off-gassing smell.

Comes in a roll. However, it does straighten out nicely so cut with scissors or a sharp bread knife. This was my test. I’ll be back for 2 more.

I used this foam to add some extra cushion to my dining room benches when I re-upholstered them. It was an affordable way to add just an extra layer of comfort. Totally worth the purchase! It is easy to work with and good quality.

This foam was easy to work with. My project was to tranfer a 5 gallon bucket into an ottoman. I covered it with one and half inch foam. I am a beginner level DIY. This product was perfect for my needs.

It was also on sale and within my budget.

I have thick, coarse, slightly wavy hair. this is the secret to a lasting and fabulous blow out. you must towel dry hair and use dryer to get out some of the water after washing so it doesn’t dilute the mousse too much.

I have long hair past the middle of my back so I use the size of a baseball or a little less for my whole head. I don’t just use at roots either. I finish with a serum on the ends and a light hairspray when done then touch up throughout the week.

Always allow hair to either dry on the brush or roll it and pin it until it cools. Sometimes you need to use the blow dryer to spot dry moisture in your hair through out the week. Use the nozzle always so you don’t create frizz or fly aways.

Always make sure the roots are dry or the blow out will not hold. Use a stronger hairspray throughout the week if needed. Your style will hold if you travel to more humid climates. just remember the blow dryer trick to get moisture out and volume back.

Also use a chopstick to put your hair up so you don’t get any creases.

I have no idea how this product has 4. 8 out of 5 stars?!! I bought it because of the great reviews and was very disappointed!! I have thin and fine hair so getting my hair to hold a curl is not easy.

I’ve been using the Paul Sebastian hairspray but wanted to try something new that had great reviews. And I really don’t know how this has such great reviews?!! It made my hair look oily- which is understandable for hairspray but my hair fell before I even made it to my destination!!! I live in the south and the humidity is bad down here so finding a hairspray that hold such regardless is challenging- everyone said this one worked but that’s a lie! I literally sprayed this stuff after each curl and then a spritz at the end overall and I drove less than 15 mins down the road and I kid you not my hair was STRAIGHT when I got there- and then it was just sticky and tough- miserable!! DO NOT BUY!!!.

Love it. Small sheet, great for little projects, very affordable. The thickness gives you room to cut-sculpt details. I used this for a hair barrette piece I donated to an Alzheimer’s fundraiser and someone snapped it up pretty quickly.

Super lightweight, heat shapeable. (It does give off toxic fumes when heated, always use a respirator. ) I’m really hoping we can get some eco-friendly foams, like the new free-recipe SweetFoam. I would be SO all over that!!.

This is EXACTLY what I needed. I used 3 sheets for an aquarium that I was setting up. This foam made a perfect leveling mat under my 12×12 tank bottom. I also used it on the walls behind/next to the tank for a bit of insulation as it is on a built-in bookcase that is on a colder outside wall.

i was pleasantly surprised to see the foam sheets came in a larger size. I use foam sheets frequently for ybe base of a wine glass coasyer I designed, And tbis size foam sheet is not only more economical but saves me a lot of time.

I dont run out as often. Really pleased. The thicker foam is dense and offers stability to tbe coasrltets I make.

I use for crafts, not floral. We made several “trees” before Christmas, and ordered several online because of huge price difference. I couponed this one, and there’s a noticeable quality difference — no denting or flaking.

Easy to glue to, moreso than white foam or online versions. The price difference is so large, though, that I wouldn’t pay full price. I wouldn’t buy multiple, even half price. Also, if buying at Christmas-time, be aware stocks run out more quickly.

Online price tends to increase, as well. Your choice will likely be give-and-take, which is why I like to write reviews.

I haven’t gotten to the next phase of shaping the EVA foam just yet, but the material seems sturdy enough for what I need it for. Had to buy an extra roll though, as I’m making a costume for my little guy, and I didn’t anticipate that I’d need more than one, but hey, that’s not the product’s fault.

I just underestimated need versus size of child. I’ve never used EVA foam before, so this will be an experience, and if it turns out uneven or it warps in ways I don’t want, that is likely user error, and not product error.

We shall see.

I recently bought some glassware and cup storage boxes for my Christmas glasses and coffee mugs and when I received the boxes they had just a thin piece of cardboard in between the glasses/mugs. Well – I was not happy with that plan, so enter Michaels and the EVA Foam Rolls.

What a great purchase! The EVA Foam Roll 4 mm is just enough protection that I need, I am also storing the boxes in a plastic container to make sure I can stack them for a little bit more insurance.

LOVE THIS STUFF! I’m a cosplayer and I first browsed Amazon in search of foam, but was disappointed by the size of the foam rolls and the price. If you use a coupon on this stuff you’re getting a great deal! I was able to do two large eva foam heads and still had some left over.

If you want to paint it, invest in some plastidip spray first! This also pairs great with the foam clay by Michaels if you want to add any details to your foam project.

I love these things. They are great for so many art projects. I had some square ones which I liked but they are felt and leave box sharp lines. I purchased some round felt pads used for furniture and thought I’d attach them with velcroe sticky side (male side) and use them,but then I saw a sale on these and bought them also.

I needed quite a few because unless you want to wash them everytime (nightmare) and wait for them to dry, they should be dedicated to colors and products. I have pastels, watercolor crayons, wax crayons, and inks.

Mixing chalks with inks or wax total disaster, so just buy plenty. These really work well with my products, better than felt, they are a soft smooth sponge, they just make everything blend so seemlessly, no sharp lines like tthe sqares did.

Oh and the furniture felt rounds -Big Dud! They Are synthetic Felt, not real felt, so you might get better results from a plastic grocery bag and your finger. Anyway, I will probably buy a couple more packs to dedicate to colors, not beacause they wear out.

They seem very durable. Oh and they fit on the end of spools of thread if you dont have the handle tool. I needed an extra one for my grandaughters stuck the male side of the Velcro on the spool and kid size handle.

these are great for watercolor sponge painting too. You can make background circles and animals and faces. Just have FUN.

I was reluctant to buy these in the first place as they are very expensive for what they are. Tiny bits of sponge attached to Velcro should not cost nearly £8. However, I needed to purchase this pack as I had bought the blending tool earlier on and needed more than 4 sponges as after I attempted to wash the ink off so I could use a different colour it faded a little but didn’t come clean.

After using one of the sponges for the second time, the Velcro ripped off half of the sponge making it impossible to use as it flopped all over the place and could not be used specifically for where you wanted the ink to go.

That sponge has ended up in the bin and I fear many will follow as the Velcro on the tool is understandably so strong and yet the Velcro on the sponge just rips off. Would not recommend buying.

I have been using these blending foams for a couple of years now. They are great to use with the Tim Holtz oxide inks to destress the edges of pages and fussy cut decorations. The are also wonderful for blending inks and for stenciling on journal pages.

The are the perfect size to fit in the bottom of the distress ink pads so you can use the pad for a long while with your ink before it needs replaced.

Last minute science project shopping. I was lucky to find this product that was true to size and great quality. They also had a variety of products available for pick up. Every where else was sold out around town for this foam ball.

What can I say about the Floracraft Styrofoam Ball I purchased to make a fun “booze bouquet” for a co-worker during our company Secret Santa Exchange? Well, it was the perfect item to allow me to place skewer sticks with mini bottles, candy, even cookie cutters into a floral spray inside a vase.

The Styrofoam ball fit snuggly into the metal vase and held the skewer sticks in place very well. I am happy with my purchase and will buy it again!.

Ordered these for kids’ VBS crafts, the quality was great. One thing we found, though, is that Elmer’s glue doesn’t stick very quickly as the foam doesn’t absorb glue like paper does, for instance. Definitely more durable than paper!.

These are great to use for wedging your Clay! These are a great value for your money and they are the perfect size. You can reuse them over an over again!

I love this foam! The colors are vibrant and the foam is thick enough to glue items on such as pasta and candy hearts. I use it every valentine’s day for my students to cut out hearts and then practice their gluing skills.

Should not need to review the Kaizen foam, it speaks for itself. I would like to review CSH. This was my first online purchase from this company. The price of the foam was the best I could find. The shipping time was excellent.

The order process was as easy as it gets. The packing held up to FedEx. Looking forward to using CSH again. As for the Kaizen foam it is awesome.

If you want your fit to look good here are 2 thicks. 1. For a smooth bottom, use 2 sheets that are each half of your desired thickness. Otherwise, under the tool will be ragged if you pull out the foam per instructions.

Look at the kaizen website and you can see how ugly the bottom looks. 2. Don’t use a knife or electric knife as instructed. Use a bandsaw or jig saw to get straight plumb cuts. If you use a bandsaw you’ll have to cut from the side of the foam to where you want the hole.

I used contact cement to fix that. Try those ideas and your project will be great.

This foam is the best I’ve ever used for seat cushions! The icing on the cake is that it’s made in the USA!!! When they say “dense foam” it really is dense. Nice quality which will most likely stay firm for years, not like others I’ve used.

Price and packaging were also amazing. Received product in time predicted it would arrive despite the hurricane. I would recommend this product to anyone doing a seat cushion replacement, or for new cushions.

In their product description, the measurements are “5” Height x 30″ Width x 96″ Length”. When you receive it, that’s exactly what it measures! Other companies skimp by a fraction of an inch hoping the consumer won’t notice.

The foam is nice and thick. Slight chemical smell when you unbox but it wasn’t too bad. Just aired it out over night and it was good. However; i did get cheated 1 inch. Description says 24×72 which was the exact measurements i needed but i just measured it and it is 24x 71.

Although just an inch. Kinda annoying since i needed 72. Luckily i measured it before i started sewing the covers. Overall i would say 4 stars inly cause i got cheated.
