20 Best Exhaust For Subaru Rumble (2023 Updated)

The figment is awesome and the quality is great. There is a bit of drone but nothing to bad and its to be expected of an aftermarket exhaust. With an aftermarket downpipe it will get a bit louder but not to bad either.

Definitely would recommend this product.

The sound is perfect. A little louder all around but nothing crazy. Perfect exhaust to give you that rumble without angry Neigbors.

Good sound and not too loud for a daily driving car. Excellent build quality, everything fits perfectly.

A very nice and refined sound, not as loud as it is rated in my opinion, but plenty loud enough. I slightly deeper tone than the American Thunder series I had on before with the factory over axle pipes.

Fitment is pretty tight and the kit came with a panhard brace spacer kit with bolts to lower the left side of the panhard brace down a bit for clearance on the driver’s side. They don’t fit exactly right even after much adjustment, but they are pretty dang close.

The sound is great with factory everything forward of these tubes. I imagine it will get louder and better overall once I put my long tubes back on with x-pipe and high flow cats plus cams in the future when I can find a reasonable price for them.

Obviously reasonable is not right now for those unfortunately. I caught these on clearance about two or three years ago and they have been sitting on the shelf but I finally installed last night. Very happy with them.

I also recommend getting a set of stainless steel exhaust muffler hangers, for in total, to change those out while you’re under there. I did these in conjunction with fixing an upper control arm a bushing and lock nut broke on this.

First of all, the install was very straightforward, the welds looked really good, and the alignment spot on. I did the install by myself in my very cramped apartment garage that the car barely fits in, and it took me around 1-1.

5 hours to get the stock exhaust off, and around 1 hour to get the new one in and lined up. Tip: don’t fully tighten up all the exhaust clamps (Especially the midpipe) till you have everything fully lined up, it will save you a lot of time, trust me.

Starting with the cold start: It is ungodly loud. It is so loud that it makes me genuinely feel bad for everyone within a half mile of me. A lot louder than I anticipated, but it is a bit raspy and very violent sounding, and it is a wonderful tone that I could listen to all day long.

After the car warms up the tone gets a lot deeper and sounds very rich and full. Warm idle sounds really nice too but is very quiet. Driving: There is no drone. The only drone I experience is below 1500rpm, but for highway and around town speeds there is no drone whatsoever, and coming from an E85 straight piped Focus ST, that is a blessing.

In the cabin with the windows up, low throttle or cruising there isn’t much noise. The wind noise is louder, you could have a conversation only whispering. But, when you want to have fun, that loud pedal on the right can get LOUD and has such a beautiful tone all through the rev range.

The only cons I can think of: 1. ) The tubing was COVERED in a nasty grease, probably to prevent rust, but still smelled awful and got everywhere (not to mention it was inside the tubing as well, so expect a weird smell for a little while as it burns off, but it is not overwhelming in the slightest.

) 2. ) The tips aren’t very well polished and they lose their shiny finish VERY quickly, I have washed the car once and driven it less than 100 miles since the install and they are already dulling, but it is not that big of a concern as some metal polish should do the trick.

You’re buying the exhaust for the sound anyways, not how pretty the exhaust tips are all the time. Overall, I think this exhaust has an incredible value and is WELL worth the price. Other options are well over $1,000 for a comparable volume/tone.

I would highly recommend this to anyone looking around for a really nice exhaust without wanting to break the bank. 10/10 would ruin my neighbors lives Monday through Saturday at 5:45AM every day again.

MBRP cat back race version,3 inch exhaust with the carbon fiber quad tips. So I have been researching exhaust for my car for awhile 2019 dodge challenger scat pack 392. I originally wanted the magna flow X Mod exhaust $3000.

I like the sound of the Borla atack $2000. I came across MBRP and they were offering a 3 inch, stainless steel and carbon fiber quad tips exhaust $1000. I like that they are from Canada because that’s where my car was built ???? And it is one hell of a deal compared to the competitors price.

There’s not a lot of good videos for this exhaust. So it was hard to judge the exhaust sound online. Iam EXTREMELY happy with this exhaust. It simply sounds Insane I feel like I’m driving a NASCAR! My car sounded on a scale 1 to 10 when it was stock about three or four.

Now it’s a 10! All I can say is it’s very loud, it crackles and pops it’s amazing. It turned my car into a Monster.

This exhaust is perfect for those looking for an exhaust that’s not too loud and not too soft. It has a great mature sound and is loud when you want it to be. Cold starts sound awesome compared to stock.

There is zero drone at highway cruising speeds. You can’t go wrong if you’re looking for an exhaust that won’t get your neighborhood upset with you.

I wanted a new exhaust for my 16 WRX that was tame with no drone and a great exhaust note and this meets everything I wanted. The install was fairly straightforward, I wasn’t sure if I was going to need the stock dp to aftermarket catback adapter but it turned out that wasn’t needed, just order another donut gasket and this exhaust and you are good to go.

The install was cake. The only thing I haven’t quite got to line up properly is one of the sets of tips seems to sit out slightly more than the other. Not a huge deal and probably fixable it just hasn’t bothered me enough.

For the sound, at first I thought it was too loud but you really can’t hear it unless you are driving above 3k rpms. It puts out a nice mellow deep tone with no rasp. For this car being a 15+ WRX without that boxer rumble that I miss from having a 2004 it’s the most impressive sounding exhaust I’ve heard from these cars.

This is the mellow-est of the Flowmaster cat back systems. I’ve owned Outlaw and American Thunder systems before, and while I like the aggressive sound, the in-cab drone on long trips gets old fast (maybe because I’m old?).

This has a little bit of a growl under throttle, but at crusing speeds, is only a little louder than stock. Super easy to install. Started at 10am Saturday, and was finished by 6pm.

Loud cold start will wake the neighbors. Awesome throaty throttle sound with no Clap at Full throttle from dead stop!! Sounds Amazing and is Very Loud. Not sneaking your gf out of her parents house without her walking a quartermile.

Doesnt matter youll have the confidence to outrun a few buzzkills with this baby! After economy mode kicks in sounds like a WRX hemi convertion!!! With a little more Cab drone running on half cylinders.

Pros outway the cons unless your an outlaw. You are the Law.

I ordered the single flowmaster exhaust system for my 2008 Dodge Dakota SLT. Delivery was fast with no problems. I had mine installed by a garage. I love the deep throaty sound. No loud or offensive noise.

Appearance looks really nice. Would recommend Auto Anything and this system. Wish I would have bought the dual system for the looks. I love it. So nice.

Seamed like it took for ever for my system to arive. (UPS) The carton was broken but the contents were fine. Instalation took about 3hrs, ( a set of torches would have been nice. ) This was the last step on my 05 Dakota Cold air intake, superchip.

Exhaust has a nice low rumble, not as loud as I though it would be. I seem to have more tork. I was hoping for a little better fuel milage but I guess its not to be. All and all Its a good system.

I got this exhaust to put on my 05 outback xt. The exhaust came packaged very well, and it looked AWESOME! Craftsmanship and quality are top notch. I was super excited to put it on my car but I hit a snag.

This is not a “direct fit” exhaust for the outback xt, but it would have only required minor trimming of the rear bumper to work. BUT the bozo who owned the car before me retrofitted a downpipe that wasn’t intended for my car.

So long story short, this exhaust was about 4-5in shorter than what it needed to be and would have required cutting and welding in pipe. I didn’t want to ruin a perfectly good exhaust in the process, So I decided to return it.

Maperformance staff was very helpful and made the return process quick and easy. It did cost me $250 for shipping though (had to go from NY to MN) and they don’t cover return shipping. That’s the only downside.

Replaced original muffler on my 77’ Chevy truck with 350- stock. This muffler still gives a nice throaty sounds that isn’t too over the top. Half the price compared to other brands

Love this muffler and the sound that it puts out on my 05 z71! Gives it that old square body sound if you know what I mean. I’ve bought several of them now and will continue to do so as I encourage others to run it and they will not be disappointed!.

I installed this muffler on my 2011 Sierra in about 5 minutes, and it sounds great! A deep clean rumble at idle and a throaty growl when you hit the throttle. Well worth the $$

I installed on my 1967 mustang 289, with a crossover H pipe. Nice rumble at idle, definitely quieter than a flow master and NO DRONE when on the highway. Really wakes up at WOT and the pitch changes to an even smoother but a tad higher pitch screaming demon! If I had 2.

5″ pipes all the way would probably be louder but I wanted a nice smooth sound. This delivered.

They really did have it in stock and shipped right away. I ordered on Tuesday and received on Friday (New England home delivery). Installation was probably the easiest exhaust install I’ve ever done.

It sounds very good. It’s noticeable but not anything over the top. A nice subie rumble. But when you order Grimm speed stock cat back adapter it doesnt come with any instructions, not that it really needs any, just takes some thinking but just a heads up.

Packing was done very well and finish looked great. Overall definitely recommend.

It delivers a very low deep tone exhaust that is not much louder than stock on the start up and normal driving conditions, however its volume increases the further you press the accelerator. Fits well on the car, just make sure you don’t have a tow hitch bar.

I am a 50 Year old and took my time installing this. I welded on new tips and put on a weld bead on each joint. The clamps seemed a bit weak to trust. Especially the right tail pipe with no support except the clamp.

I honestly was expecting something much louder. This was like a tinny turbo muffler kind of mild everyday driver type of exhaust for me. I might try putting on an electric cutout on the 3″ pipe just for fun.

Install was fairly straight forward and was straight bolt up. No cutting needed as stated in directions. The driver side pipe should get welded in as for it to be able to be in the hangar and still inside the muffler, its not in by much.

The clamps sucked. I broke one trying to torque down the driver side pipe so it didn’t fall out As far as tone. Extremely quiet. Only time you reslly get a rumble is if you step on it.

I have a F-150 and this particular muffler fit well when the muffler on the truck actually came apart and left the tail pipe connected to the back! It’s quiet and sounds awesome when you put your foot in it!.

I ordered this exhaust, and within the week it was at my door! I was looking for something that would wake up the exhaust note, but not be obnoxious, and this was perfect! It brings out the boxer rumble to a perfect note throughout the rev range (really nice in the first 3k, but opens up afterwards too).

From the outside, it’s got some noise, but from the inside is a huge difference as before I put this exhaust on, it was a bit hard to hear the car with any traffic nearby or the music turned up, but now I can have all that going on and still enjoy my car.

I have a 2018 WRX STI, and this exhaust adds the growl that I wish the car had off the lot! I have almost ZERO experience when it comes to working on cars, and installing this part was very simple/straight-forward.

I installed it on Jack-Stands in my garage, but it would have been much easier on a lift. I’ve read reviews and watched YouTube videos which say that the sound is not loud from this exhaust. It made me a little skeptical, but after installing it, this is EXACTLY what I was looking for.

A very noticeable upgrade, that won’t make your neighbors angry. I bought this exhaust along with fuel injectors and rail-line kit in hopes of installing Stage 3. however Stage 3 downpipe became discontinued, and Cobb Support worked with me to return the parts I no longer needed.

This exhaust, along with my SF Intake and Accessport Stage1+ OTS map make the car much more fun to drive.

My original plan was to get the turbo back but after some research I realized I did not want to change out my fuel system to go stage 2. I purchase this along with the intake and let me tell you I love everything about both these products.

The exhaust is just beautiful, the welds are nice and the overall look is just pleasing to the eye. It was easy to install (although is does not come directions, neither did the intake which I find rather strange) and everything fit perfectly.

The sound is deep but not loud, if you like loud exhausts this is not for you. I highly recommend this product not only because the sound and quality but also because of how smooth the car feels to drive now.

If you are on the fence you will not be disappointed with this purchase.

These aren’t extremely loud, but there is a noticeable drone at around 40mph for me. I installed these on a 1995 cobra. Overall I am still happy with my purchase. I used these to revert a straight pipe.

Gained some torque back due to adding back pressure that was lost from the straight pipe. One thing to note. The instructions read to cut the original cat back exhaust with a sawzall or similar tool.

I tried to see if I could slip it out without cutting it, but I couldn’t.

I have a 2007 Shelby and the factory exhaust was too tame other than a cold start. Once the car warmed I felt it was too tame. So, I started researching cat back options and was torn between this and the Corsa Extreme.

I decided to take a chance on the Flowmaster Outlaw and I am very pleased with the value and sound. I was concerned it would be too obnoxiously loud but I don’t think they are unless you are completely WOT.

Cruising around and modest acceleration sound fantastic. Down shifts have a deep burble that also sounds amazing. Not sure it the 5. 4 sounds different than the 4. 0, but I am very pleased with this set up on the 5.

Full Review/Expereince with some tips. Shop install takes an hour and a half. From what they told me the fit was very well and they had no trouble with it (comes with instructions) and charged me $60.

So if your shop tells you they’re having trouble they might not know what they’re doing. First start up after the install is extremely intense, you really get that aggressive sound you’re looking for so you should be extremely satisfied as the video doesn’t do the sound any justice, I was honestly shocked.

People will definitely be breaking their necks trying to find the monster they hear driving down the road, it sounds that amazing! With that being said, the drone is absolutely killer, so don’t put this on something you’ll be driving every single day or you’ll regret.

I drive my CS/GT around 10 miles a day on average. If you drive your GT over 40 miles/day you should really consider looking at something else because it feels like you’re in a commercial jet and will leave your head busting after a moderate drive.

Avoid 100 mile drives at all costs! I’ll clear this up on a final note for those that live in an apartment or anywheres where you have a lot of neighbors. Expect complaints, yeah, seriously. I’m in an apartment while at college and the cold start blares so loud that I feel the need to hop in the car and get out of there as quickly as possible so break this in with your neighbors and tell them you’re not being this loud on purpose and hope they’re nice and understanding like mine because you’ll be heard within a 40-50 yard radius, no exaggeration.

Summarized : If you’re worried about being too loud in your quiet neighborhood and take long daily drives, sorry to say but this won’t be for you, just a friendly warning. If not then this will be the best exhaust system you could ever have on your mustang!.

I replaced an Invidia N1 with this cobb cat-back. The Cobb is exhaust costs more but is far better. It is quieter than the N1, but the N1 is just to loud and makes the car sound broken. I’m running catless and the car was terribly loud.

This Cobb cat-back with it’s mufflers really calmed it down. The car also sounds like a proper Subaru now. If you get a second hand Subaru and it sounds ruined, install this exhaust.

I recently replaced my Invidia q300 with this and so glad I did. The unique deep boxer rumble tone has never sounded better, and I have this paired with the Cobb catted DP. It’s definitely much louder than the q300 in my opinion.

Lets just say that I have been going back and forth between the cobb and the Q300 for about a year now. And final made my decision and couldnt be happier. The videos on line of the Q300 just sounded to “Tinny/Raspy” for my taste.

The cobb is more of a throaty sound, which is great. If you want that nice deep tone/rumble, then get this exhaust! I have this paired with a invidia catted downpipe, just sounds awsome! Not loud and overbearing, great for a daily driven car.

I bought the muffler knowing it was to small for my application ( 86 Toyota truck with 22r. Header and 2. 25 custom straight through exhaust. ) Should be running same muffler with 2. 25 but this was the only available at the time.

Overall dimension seem small and would be better suited for a stock Civic or similar car. Sound is close to stock and reasonably quiet.

Although the factory part was a much larger unit it was easy to install adding extension of exhaust pipe installed on Wifes Pontiac Aztek

Worked great on my 86 Jeep CJ7. Sounds good. My old exhaust was trash.

The install: The kit was easy to install. The hardest part was removing the old exhaust parts, which I ended up cutting out with an angle grinder. My old exhaust was rusted together. Total time to install was about 1.

5 – 2 hours and required only a 15mm socket, breaker bar and the angle grinder. You get some pre-bent lengths of 3″ pipe, the muffler, a heat-shield with 3 steel straps, and U-shaped clamps. If you install everything in order, it fits well.

just enough play to allow fitment, and then tighten the clamps down. The hangars are just pre-welded on bits of round stock steel. but they fit well in stock hangar sleeves. Clears all frame and suspension obstacles.

Keep all fittings finger-tight until it’s all up, then wiggle to adjust fit. I had a moment where I considered cutting my fender a bit until I just wiggled the pipe around to clear it. Helps to try and articulate it differently once it’s all up.

Feels like it won’t move, but actually has lots of adjustment. The sound: I was a little disappointed in the sound. Its actually not loud. Perfectly fine, but I was paying $200 more for the throat-y Flowmaster sound.

Look at the description of the Force 2 muffler. it’s actually a “quiter” daily-driver muffler. I think it’s marketed for people who WANT more stock sound?? The kit description sounds like a racer kit, talking about all this flow and HP increases, but look at the description of the Force 2 muffler at Flowmaster’s website.

A bit misleading. Performance: Only been driving it a week, but it feels slightly smoother. Hard to say if it improved performance or just changed the sound and just “feels” like the engine isn’t working as hard to get up to speed.

I had a rusted hole in the previous muffler, so this is a definite improvement on that. But hard to say if the Summit kit might not have been just as good and $200 cheaper. You can do alot with $200 on these 5.

7L engines(headers?). maybe that could have gone further for performance. The price: Summit has a comparable kit for $200 cheaper. If you just want a stock replacement, get that. This kit trades on the flowmaster name brand, but is a pretty tame kit.

The build quality is good, and if you install it yourself, it’s easy and you can offset the extra cost and end up with a quality kit. But don’t expect a street-strip sound or performance. Just a good brand and a muffler that will last, which is good, I guess.

Oh, and they didn’t give me a Flowmaster sticker. Where’s my sticker! X_X.

Installed on a 1989 Chevy C2500 Scottsdale with the 5. 7L 350 block. Purchased and received within 7 days. The pipe that attaches to the end of the muffler leading out toward the rear of the truck was a different length than the system I removed, making it a little more difficult to install.

Other than that, new system sounds great and can definitely feel the increased performance.

Purchased for my ’19 WRX over a year ago. Great quality, packing and delivery time: A+, 5/5. I think Cobb failed with the bolt-on tips; to add insult, they only offer the blued ones. They look very nice, but I chose to leave them off after a month or so.

Easy to install with basic tools and some soapy water. The slip-fits needed some adjustment, due my poor skill in aligning and getting a symmetrical fitment; it’s still off a very tiny bit. I couldn’t get the mid-pipe to the ‘rubber’ hanger.

No biggie, I had another hanger so I used that: B+, 4/5. Sounds deep at times, and not tinny, the OEM drone has moved to a different RPM; which is exactly why I bought this: A+, 5/5. I really liked the single pipe Tom.

Expreme, but I like the OEM look (and sound) of the duals; I live Californiastan. It’s got mild turbo sounds, ‘one level’ louder than stock with the OEM downpipe. Disappointed I get no attention (?) Maybe, it’s ’cause I miss losing my Cobb stage 2 EJ hatch’s muff-deleted rumble.

I installed this exhaust on my 2021 STI. Not surprisingly the weight and bulk is substantially reduced over stock. I had the luxury of a lift at a buddy’s shop so install was a breeze. I imagine with ramps or quick jacks it wouldn’t be too tough.

The sound is absolutely perfect for me. I drove roundtrip to OKC from Tampa (2600 mi) and found the note assertive but enjoyable in town and cruising at highway speeds. The look of the exhaust end to end is amazing with the tips obviously the highlight.

The sound is a huge improvement from stock. The titanium helps bring out that beautiful deep EJ rumble. Quilty of the welds were outstanding also and the installation was a breeze. Was super surprised at how light it was.
