20 Best Exfoliator For Face Men (2023 Updated)

First off let me state this is definitely an exfoliating product that is designed for a mans thicker skin. That being said I love this scrub. It has a wonderful almond scent and does a wonderful job clearing the dead skin cells from my face.

I use it twice a week a few days apart as part of my skincare routine, honestly anymore than that would be overkill. The one complaint I have is you pretty much have to use this in the shower as the crushed walnut that exfoliates does not wash away easily.

I have combination skin. I use this product every few days to exfoliate and get rid of the dead skin cells. The scrubbers are the perfect size for me as they do a great job of scrubbing. After cleansing, Only a small dollop is needed and you work it into your face in a circular motion.

Let it sit for a bit and wash. My skin is left feeling soft and refreshed. This is perfect to use before shaving to prepare your skin for that. This lasts a good 6 months with occasional use. Highly recommended.

Since trying to discover the perfect grooming product lineup, I have tried 4 exfoliating facial scrubs, including Jack Black, Anthony for Men, and Carley’s. Carley’s is the only other one worth mentioning.

However, Baxter of California is hands down the winner of the group. It has a very coarse exfoliating component (walnut shell) and a great smell of cherry and amaretto. The coarseness of the walnut shell may not be for everyone, but when I get out of the shower after using this, and the Baxter of California Daily Face Wash, my skin is literally reflecting light and gleaming.

That speaks volumes to the amount of dead skin removed, eliminating that “dull” look. This will be my permanent exfoliating scrub from here on out.

This Face Scrub is great! I only just recently discovered this. Cremo Face Scrub has all the grit and graininess you could ask for, but it flows like liquid out of the tube. It does the job and rinses off my face easily.

I’m a total convert. Glad to add one more Cremo product to my regimen.

I started using this product at my wife’s suggestion, and I am amazed at the results. I use this scrub three times a week and my skin looks and feels much healthier, younger, and smoother. As I get older I can honestly say that this product will be a part of my daily regimen.

Really good facial scrub, but needs more walnut shells in its formula. When you are using the scrub you can feel that they are sparse and that you are not getting full exfoliating coverage. And, since this is a facial scrub, it’s not its best without the shells.

St. Ives Apricot Scrub continues to win in this department until Cremo ups its walnut shell game. Everything else (smell, moisturizing, rinsability) with this scrub is spot on.

I have always been an a fan of mechanical exfoliation. However, I recently DESTROYED my skin barrier after buying products from a consultation from an esthetician working for the company of a very well known medical grade skincare company (not sold on LovelySkin).

I went to a new esthetician at a very reputable plastic surgeon’s office and she turned me on to this once my barrier was repaired. It is gentle enough to use with retin-a but also feels like it is actually doing something.

I can’t explain it. It is like the perfect in between very abrasive scrubs and those scrubs that feel like nothing. Also, there is NO overpowering fragrance, doesn’t break me out and does not sting. Please try it!.

This is the first cleanser I re-purchase. I first got this at my local spa, but sadly it closed due to COVID. I’m really happy with this product, it cleans and shrinks the look of my pores and leaves my skin looking tight and polished without drying it.

It’s lasted me a very long time too, and a small amount is all you need. I haven’t tried the other cleansers but this one worked for me and I’m sticking to it. I’ve also used the collagen hydrator and the nutrient toner and will be re-purchasing them too.

I can’t recommend PCA Skin products enough, they are the best products I’ve ever tried and will not put anything on my face if it’s not from PCA.

sounds kind of weird but this product uses smashed wood pulp which is biodegradable obviously as the gentle manual exfoliant. I am not a fan of manual excellence for the most part because people tend to over script their skin which leads to loss plasticity and capillary issues as well as aggravating acne.

That said this is gentle enough with a chemical exfoliant added as well that I really enjoy this product. The fragrance is amazing that in my clients buy it nonstop and love it. Good price point too.

My partner had used this product on and off for a few years until they changed it from a jade green to the orange shade – mostly due to me moaning it looked out of place on the bathroom shelf! Decided to treat him to a few Anthony products as gifts recently and this was one of my extra choices.

We’re both glad as it actually has a lovely zesty fragrance and works just as well as the old product did. Good texture with a gentle exfoliant. A little goes a long way so the bottle will last ages.

The only slight downside is the bottle design – always difficult to get the last bits squeezed out. Recommend tipping it upside down when it’s almost empty to get the product nearer the cap.

I bought this on Amazon just to try out and new product and I LOVE it. My skin is always dry and peeling so I can usually tell when a scrub is working, and this one WORKS. It’s very gentle on my skin and still gets the job done, and the most flaky areas of my face, like my forehead and nose area, are always clean and smooth when I’m done using them.

However, when I first started using it, it felt tingly on my skin, almost like it was burning a little, like it has alchohol in it, but it gets better the more you use it. My skin hasn’t broken out or anything so it’s completely safe to use!.

First, let me get this out of the way: I do really like the Exfoliate. I use it every time I shave my head (3-4 times a week), and it does what it is supposed to. No problem with the PRODUCT. But I have consistently had issues with the last 2-3 bottles of Exfoliate that have been sent to me.

The pump doesn’t work and it leaks, or it does work but has no suction. I’ve had to jury rig all sorts of solutions in order to just use the product I purchase. At this point I’d rather Mountaineer just package it with a cap like the pH Balancer and just let me squeeze it out instead of using the pump nozzle.

This stuff is awesome! The pumice is like a thousand tiny fingers massaging your scalp. After rinsing it off, my head was squeaky clean and ready for a super close shave. One thing, though. Make sure you shake the bottle really well before using, because the pumice or clay tends to clog the pump tube if you don’t.

I rinsed out the tube with warm water and it worked okay after that.

Great product! Love how it makes my head feel and good exfoliate. However did not give it a five star because I’ve already bought two and I’ve had issues with pump. There might need to be a redesign to pump or make it a squeezable bottle with small hole for precision amount application.

I bought the product with some of the BullDog shaving blades. It is a nice comfortable shave with the product. My gripe with it is that I read on the back there were no added synthetic fragrances added to the product.

Since I am sensitive to those I decided to give it a try. The fragrance from the product is exceptionally strong, and while it may be a ‘natural’ fragrance like aloe or something, it was just too much for me.

If they made a truly fragrance free version of this product I would likely buy it as otherwise this seems to work well with their blades. Nice comfortable shave.

Love these shoes. Extremely good quality, I’ve had three pairs (different colors, same model) and all are still going strong. These don’t fall apart like a lot of skate style shoes do, basically the only way to kill them is to literally wear out the soles.

I haven’t had any of the other freerider models so I don’t know if the fabric uppers on other models hold up as well as the leather on these, but I don’t have any reason to think that it wouldn’t. They also have great performance, easily the best grip of any flat pedal shoe that I’ve used.

I know they are a winter shoe but I where them all year. They are a bit warm in the summer but I don’t really notice it while I’m riding. The only critic I can make it that I with there was a more robust toe protection.

It’s not bad, definitely better than your average skate shoe, but I have flats on my DH rig and every once in a while I get rocks flying up and hitting my toes and it hurts.

Absolutely Amazing! I will use this product forever. I just ordered it and received it in the mail today. I have to admit I was a bit skeptical about it, especially once I opened the bottle and saw the color.

Typically I use Gillette Fusion blade to shave, I like to get as clean as a shave possible so I splurge and spend the extra on these blades. The biggest problem I have always had especially with these blades is that they become clogged so easy.

I would always build up this white gunk in my blade that the hair would get all trapped in. I always assumed it was extra dirt or oil because I typically wash my head with soap before I shave but not I believe it was just dead skin.

This causes my razors to kick the can after one and half shave sessions. Not any more, my razor was clean and didn’t clog with hair at all. It was amazing. In addition to the the overall feeling after this shave is just amazing.

I really can’t describe it but my head just feels so clean and fresh compared to before I used this product. Not to mention my razor was able to get so much closer for a much better shave. This product is hand down amazing, and it is now and forever will be a staple to my shaving routine.

HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND, unless you don’t like getting the cleanest, smoothest, most satisfying shave, then don’t by this stuff.

I love the HeadShed Exfoliating Preshave Scrub! It really does help keep my scalp soft and helps provide a more smooth and more comfortable shave. The only reason for the 1-star deduction was the smell.

I do not like the scent, but the product is great.

I use this once per week while shaving my head. It leaves my scalp smooth and I have noticed fewer blemishes on my head. The smell is pretty faint, but is not a bad scent, kind of chocolatey. It is very thick and rather hard to get out of the bottle, but a little warming in the shower does help.

Overall, I like this stuff a lot and will continue using it.

I can’t wait to get a facial my skin feels so dry and flaky. Since Covid started I haven’t had a professional facial. I have the steamer and professional peels and masks. But it’s not the same as getting pampered.

Also I had eye surgery so I couldn’t do much to my face. I did a little research and found. I couldn’t be happier it was what I needed. It’s a very Gentle non-abrasive Pumice granules. If you ever had a microdermabrasion done you would know how the crystals feels same with this product.

It really works it made my skin feel soft and renewed.

I really like the texture of this and I feel like a little bit will go a very long way. That said, I have mixed feelings (or perhaps have done bad research) regarding facial exfoliation. I have very sensitive skin and while I don’t think this product really did anything bad to my skin, I didn’t notice any positive results either.

I only use it once in a while because I feel like practically any exfoliation might be too harsh for my face skin. That said, it DOES seem gentle and appears to be a well-made, quality product. If you have less-than-super-sensitive skin or are sure that facial exfoliators are right for you regardless, I’d probably recommend this.

I just need to do more research on the effects of facial exfoliators to understand how they interact with sensitive skin, because I do get random break outs or dry patches/almost rashiness occasionally, but I use a BUNCH of different cleansers and toners and moisturizers so I can’t pinpoint a certain product as the culprit.

*shrug* I really wanted to like this like I said, if your skin isn’t crazy sensitive it’s probably worth putting on your list.

Love this stuff. I use a microdermabrasion face scrub twice a week and this product is one of my favorite ones. It gets rid of acne scars, leaves skin soft, and overall makes my skin look so much better.

Will definitely buy again.

My boyfriend used the Neutrogena Men Razor Defense Face Scrub for years, recently, they moved it out of the shelf at all supermarkets and drug stores and introduced a bunch of other facial scrubs that had nothing in common with the original.

I went online and ordered a bunch of the original razor defense scrubs, thinking that I’ll be buying what he had been using for years. But unfortunately, to my total disappointment, my boyfriend noticed that Neutrogena had completely changed the formula and that the scrub has an effeminate if not an androgynous scent, as if it was made for women and not for men.

I have sensitive skin so I was hesitate to use this face scrub. However it did not disappoint. I definitely felt the exfoliation. Just be careful to not overuse and also have a routine. I’d also suggest making sure to gently rub the product in because it can be rough.

I’m not sure what prompted Neutrogena to change the formula. > Feels oily > Doesn’t really scrub (feels more creamy than scrubby) > No clean feeling after use > Smells like diaper cream Dear Neutrogena: go back to your old formula! I would not recommend this at all.

I am a long time ZO Skin Health customer. One of the products I regularly use is their exfoliating polish. I love the product, but it can get pricey. I found NeedCrystals on Amazon decided to give it a try after reading numerous positive reviews.

It did not disappoint! Great price works wonderfully to deep clean. My face is SO soft after I use this. Definitely my new go to!.

These are crystals ONLY. So I: Mix this in with your cleanser to wash your face, you only need a little bit. I also put a little bit of this on my toothpaste before I brush my teeth. Gets your teeth extra EXTRA Clean! You could also use it as a small household scrub mixed with a small amount of soap, because the crystals are small but strong.

Would buy again.

They changed the packaging on this I believe a year ago. I’m in love with this scrub. It’s so versatile, you can use it basically anywhere that has skin. I’ve used it as both a weekly facial exfoliator and hand scrub.

I love that it I can mix it in with whatever I am using at the time. I usually mix it with my face wash and go from there. The crystals are so fine and give off a gentle scrub. Let’s talk about the price for a minute.

I love this brand this was one of the first brands I tried when I got back into my skincare routine. I enjoy the smell of coconut a lot if you don’t then I wouldn’t recommend any of this brands products and especially this one.

Be ready for the coconut it’s so so good ! I have a fewback ups it’s that pleasant of a scent and good though recently I finally got that baby soft skin back so I no longer need to use this product everyday like I once did.

I still use it just a lot less since I got back my soft skin the skin I had before I got in my late 20’s and before I had my baby which I’m so happy about. If you don’t have really sensitive skin and have used a facial scrub to know what I mean I totally recommend; I’ve always had real sensitive skin and like I said I used this everyday if I would feel lazy in the weekend tops 5 days a week and this product is really great after all it totally helped me to get back that baby soft skin I use to have and now thankfully have again due to using this product religiously everyday so definitely definitely recommend! Theirs a ton of facial scrubs I’ve tried and have laying around I mostly always reach for this one and this one is my favorite and always will be the smell makes me feel like I’m in a spa.

I totally love channeling that in spa feeling so this is my go to at home spa feeling. If you have sensitive skin like me and are scared to use a facial scrub you don’t need to go hard on your skin it’s your face and you definitely have to be more gentle on your face than like you were to use a body scrub on your body, sometimes when I use this I think back to how I used this everyday and think I can’t believe I use it so often and it didn’t bother me whatsoever and now I feel like I’m using sand paper against my face lol which is exactly why I use this a ton less because I just don’t need it since it helped me to get where I wanted my skin to be and feel like but I still have to maintain that soft baby smooth skin so it’s definitely why I make sure to use it at least a few times a month.

I don’t want my soft skin going away and it definitely will if you don’t maintain your skincare routine. I use a lot of chemical exfoliants but they weren’t working to really get that clean slate feeling for my face. I searched for a physical exfoliant and found this one – affordable, smells amazing, not too harsh.

it worked perfectly. It got the dirt and gunk off my face leaving a fresh, clean slate to add moisturizer too. My face was so soft and just felt brand new. The smell is very coconuty and obviously if you are sensitive to coconuts (oil, sugar, etc) in any way, stay away from this.

My skin loves coconut so this is the perfect physical exfoliant for me. I use once weekly when my face feels weighed down or dull. Highly recommend!.

First of all this stuff smells so good, like coconut pastry or macaroons or something. I love how this works on my skin, it’s not really chemical forward but uses more of the natural ingredients (sugar) to clean your pores.

My skin is sensitive to chemical products and definitely prefers natural and oil based products to clean the skin. This scrub combined with Palmers oil cleanser has done wonders for my skin and I recommend it to anyone with very oily skin, uneven texture, or uneven color.

Oil fights oil, water and chemical won’t work!.

I’ll save you time so maybe you can utilize that extra time to so corporate can contemplate how to make their product how it used to be, without the plastic beads.

“Hi there! We are so sorry to hear that the Facial Fuel Energizing Scrub did not leave you with the results in which you were expecting. ” We were expecting ONLY the little plastic beads to change to something more environmental friendly due to the new mandates.

Not to change the whole product so Kiehl’s makes more profit over quality. Back to their comment, “We understand how frustrating that can be and appreciate you sharing some personal feedback with us”; if you truly cared about your dedicated consumers who been purchasing your products for decades, the company would’ve already changed the product back to how it actually worked from the current scrub on the shelves.

“as we will be sharing this with the rest of our team. We hope you continue to try our products in the future!” This comment just shows they don’t care about their dedicated consumers. If these comments over the past four years have been shared and the product hadn’t changed.

It’s that simple. I will continue to purchase the energizer moisturizer until they decide to change that as well. By the way, don’t purchase the energizer with SPF, it’s very greasy and feels nothing like the original energizer moisturizer cream.

My spouse continues to use it, but I can not. Again, as many other consumers have complained, I am one more. My face felt revived and awaken after using this scrub and it truly exfoliated with my pores appearing smaller.

I exfoliated with this product after each shave (about three times a week). Now, when I use this product, there’s no difference. I would be better off using something found at the local drugstore. The reason why It’s taking me this long to write a review about this product is because when it was announced they were changing their scrub, I went around and purchased what was on the shelves whenever I traveled at airports and other cities throughout the country.

This is a top notch product that I always want to have on hand. It’s not so tough that I can’t use it back to back days, but it also does a phenomenal job of getting rid of dead skin that flakes off through my beard.

The only reason I’m not giving it five stars is that the formula seems to change fairly often. A size of the large tube can last me a year and when I go to re-order it again there’s always something that’s just a little different the last couple years.

It has more of a sand quality now which is so heavy it doesn’t actually go down the drain. It’s minor because the results are still great but I think something to be aware of if you’re considering this product.

Kiehl’s is one of if not the best facial scrub I have used. The granularity (if that’s a word) is even and abundant. My face afterwards demonstrates how effective the scrub is. The grit and grime, etc.

I am 77 and have used almost every type of shave product on the market, this one far exceeds any of them! It makes for a very smooth shave, is easy to apply ( and you don’t need much ), does not accumulate in the razor, and rinses off without any effort.

In addition, the bamboo handle razor is superior to any other razor I have used to date. I only discovered Bulldog’s products 3 or 4 months ago. one of the most rewarding finds in men’s grooming products I have ever encountered.

I just got into using charcoal related face wash and body products lately and I decided to grab the Everymanjack one when I was getting more the other day because I like the brand. Compared to others, the texture is smooth and slightly liquidy but not too drippy or messy.

The scent is the only downside to it, but honestly I justify it given the commitment to natural products and the organic nature. After using it a couple times you notice the effect on your face. It clears it up entirely without feeling any stinging or anything.

Was honestly impressed. Make sure you’re drinking enough water and washing after the gym and in the morning and youll see a huge difference. Pretty happy with the purchase.

This is great for anyone with combination skin or anyone whose skin responds well to salicylic acid. Biggest downside to this is the tube dispenses way too much at a time. A little can go a long way with this stuff and compared to a very similar product in a different type of container like the Yes To Tomatoes Detoxifying Charcoal Facial Cleanser, it doesn’t end up lasting as long.

I’ve noticed this with pretty much all EMJ products. Their packaging tends to dispense way too much product per use comparitively.

Really enjoying the scrub. It’s one of the top two products I’ve ever used in terms of how it feels on my face and how it keeps my skin clear. Lots of products haven’t worked that well for me, but this one keeps my skin pretty clear.

A few comments: – Make sure you buy the scrubs vs. the washes. The scrubs have little scrubbie beads, the washes don’t. The containers are identical and they make most variations in both kinds, so it’s really easy to buy one when you want the other.

I speak from experience 😉 – The scrubs could be a bit thicker. The washes are nice and thick, but my last scrub was a little more watery than I’d like. Not a huge deal, and I feel that each container is a little different, but a note in case EMJ is reading this ;).
