20 Best Exfoliator Before Self Tan (2023 Updated)

I love this brand. I have rosacea, and I ran out for about a week and my skin was SUPER dry and sensitive for that whole week. I could not figure out why out of the blue and I realized it was probably because i stopped using this scrub while in the shower.

I went to the store and they didn’t have it. So I used other products I had to maybe help in the mean time and nothing worked. so I ordered on Amazon’s and had to wait a few days for it to arrive. LITERALLY just a few days later of using it again.

my skin felt SO much better. I was honestly surprised I have started using the night lotion of this brand and that helped too but the scrub alone did the job and got rid of the dryness on my face. Also I have to wear a face mask for work for 10 hours and my face (cheeks) are still smooth and hydrated.

I highly recommend this specific product if you have sensitive skin/rosacea.

This is the best solution I have found after trying to so many remedies for partially faded or splotchy self-tanners. It gently scrubs and polishes my skin while removing all of the self-tanner but unlike mosts exfoliater options, it does not scratch or dry out my skin.

The infused body wash is rich and creamy with a luxurious lather that just keeps going. The sponge is a bit stiff on first use since it is packed with body wash but softens easily with warm water and last through several uses before running out of body wash.

My sponge has not fallen apart after many uses, and I just add my own body wash for much the same benefit as before. The scrubber side is not at all harsh yet I rarely have to use it because the regular side scrubs sufficiently to get teh job done.

I use this near daily because my skin feel so good after, and I can touch up self-tan boo-boos without removing everything simply by dabbing the sponge where needed while in the shower. I have already purchased two more, one for my travel pack, and another for our vacation home just so I can have one always at hand.

I love Spongeables. The coconut scent of this particular sponge is so nice. I think it does a good job exfoliating my skin. I didn’t buy this product for tanning purposes (I bought it just to use as a cleanser when I shower) so I can’t speak to its effectiveness when it comes to that.

My Spongeables sponges have always lasted at least a month or more as far as the actual sponge, not the soap in it. They’ve never deteriorated quickly. In fact, I even use the sponge after the soap is all used up.

I add my own body wash to it and continue to get good use out of it. The only thing I don’t like about this product is its packaging. I think it’s wasteful. I have no use for the zip bag. The packaging makes me hesitant to buy this product again as I don’t like being wasteful and try to be as environmentally friendly as I can.

This is a game changer for me. I am absolutely obsessed with this sponge. This is a must have if you self tan. I have been self tanning for about 5 years now, and I am so glad I took the chance and purchased this sponge.

It is life! It smells amazing and actually feels really good even though I am really rough when I exfoliate. I use it after I have previously exfoliated some of my tanner off and it almost always gets those stubborn places.

I get facials twice a year, and I just went last week. My skin care professional was curious as to what I have been using recently for exfoliation. When I told her this Derma-E Crepey Skin Pre-Treatment Exfoliating Scrub.

she not only looked it up online right then and there, SHE ORDERED IT! She noticed a difference in my face from February to now, and I had only been using the product for a little over a week! I am a stickler for exfoliating twice a week.

I love the feel of this scrub on my face! It truly leaves a fresh face feeling. It cleanses my skin and preps it for my moisturizer, so it’s able to truly soak up all its benefits! This is such a good body scrub! It’s finely milled bamboo powder leaves your skin so soft and smooth. It claims to firm the skin but, I haven’t seen that type of results as of yet. The scent of the Clarins Exfoliating Body Scrub reminds me of a clean fresh mildly floral type scent.

If you have sensitive skin you will love this scrub because, it never leaves my skin red or irritated. It’s also easily rinses off and doesn’t leave any oily residue which is a plus for me. I highly recommend this body scrub by Clarins.

This is the best exfoliator I’ve ever used, and I will never be using anything again. I was skeptical about how helpful it might be but after seeing a few positive reviews I figured I should try it out- It’s seriously amazing.

It feels kind of like rubbing sand on yourself, in the best way possible, and it makes me look forward to my showers every day. When I get out, my skin is softer than I’ve ever felt it before and it makes moisturizing so much fun because I can’t believe how soft my skin is.

For people who have never exfoliated, or have only used loofas or other scrubs- this is the place to start. The exfoliating beads are tiny and not sharp, unlike other scrubs I’ve used that are very abrasive and don’t actually help in the long run.

I never review things either, but I kind of felt compelled to given how much I love it. I used to moisturize to no end and never felt like my skin was any softer, no matter how expensive the lotions I used were, and especially in the winter I kind of gave up.

This is the dream solution. Another plus for people who shave their legs, this makes your legs smooth on days when you have a little stubble but not enough to shave. My legs feel much less prickly which is the reason I shave anyway.

And though it’s not a stated effect, it feels kind of firming as well, though maybe it’s just the soft skin that makes it feel that way. My only complaint is that after the first use it was a little difficult to get out of the bottle but that’s pretty minor.

Love this body scrub, I use with a exfoliating mitt on wet skin, Easy to use but contents is slightly hard to squeeze out near the end. Leaves skin silky smooth. I used to use a different brand of same price mark and This one is much better.

Make sure you moisture after you are dry. Great product, use once to twice per week.

I received a small 15ml size of this from a friend and I must say I wish this friend of mine hadn’t done that! I have to be honest here, I’m not a fan of Gwyneth Paltrow, her brand or her style. I’m an avid skin care user so I will stick to the product performance.

Basically this is just another scrub, it’s not the best one I’ve used, I mean it does the job certainly but you certainly do not need to fork out $187 AUD to do your weekly exfoliation. It’s just not practical, I mean just look at the times we’re in! Sure you might use just a little to make it last a long way but with physical exfoliants you need to be generous depending on the particle size.

The instructions are to use it 2-3 times a week but I personally think this is too much and should only be used once a week on a sunday night. The exfoliating agents in this formula are Alumina (Aluminum Oxide Crystals used in in-office microdermabrasion treatments), Silica, Quartz and Garnet Powder.

The first two are acceptable but the last two are questionable, the scrub feels grainy, uneven, almost scratchy on the skin (a bit like sand), not pleasant, so use a light hand. Glycolic Acid makes an appearance which is a nice touch but Glycolic acid works best when left on the skin and its performance is limited unless you leave the product on for a few minutes, 3 minutes is not enough.

Since Miss Paltrow is into “WELLNESS” ofcourse she had to turn it into a SPA product and include some of the more irritating essential oils, these being Lime, Lemon, Orange, Mandarin Orange & Vetiver.

Lavender ain’t so bad. All in all the product has the look, texture, feel, performance and wear of a Spa Body Scrub, at first glance it looks exactly that, if it weren’t for it’s PALTRY size of just 50ML.

Just so you know US folk are paying only $125USD or $115USD with subscription to GOOP for this product. Aussie women are paying far too much for our skincare and cosmetics full stop. Summary: -Effective physical exfoliation according to instructions and the four exfoliants used; Alumina, Silica, Quartz and Garnet Powder.

-Glycolic Acid makes an appearance, nice touch – though leave-on Chemical exfoliation is more precise and gentler on skin -Overwafting Citrus Essential Oils – Sensitive skins beware! Particularly Asian or ethnic skins easily irritated by fragrance, “Natural” or synthetic.

-Plant oils & emollients are present which is nice but not important as the scrub does not stay on the skin for long, they mainly serve as a base for the exfoliants. -Overpriced product that would be put to better use as an occasional at home “Spa-Style” BODY Scrub.

I received this as a Beauty Loop bonus and was so ready to hate and ridicule it. The product has a natural clay sort of smell overall but you can also smell the citrusy notes of the oils. Very much in line with the “day spa” vibes that come with the marketing of this product – doesn’t smell amazing but not unpleasant either.

After using gentle chemical exfoliants for so long it was a bit of a shock using a product with physical exfoliants. The particles are very fine but it felt scratchy and can be uncomfortable – be gentle! As I have had skin sensitivity issues before I applied on a wet face to “buffer” the stinging effect glycolic acid can have and leave it on my face for a minute before washing off.

Have to say I’ll have to eat some humble pie because the results are actually really nice – no irritation; skin feels soft, not overstripped/overexfoliated and even feels plump. My skin didn’t look particularly glowy (maybe I need to use more) but I was very happy with the result overall.

I would buy this product again. if it wasn’t for the obscene price. While I only need a very small amount each time (so the jar will go a fair way) it still works out to be much more expensive than the high-end product I currently use.

So while the results are better than my current go-to, I cannot justify the extreme price jump to make this product a permanent part of my skincare routine.

I was pretty skeptical of this product when I received it. I’m very picky about what I use to exfoliate my skin (especially on my face) and this didn’t look any different from most chemical exfoliants.

I have super dry flaky skin (except in the T-zone) and if a product doesn’t have hyaluronic acid in it, I usually find it too harsh. However, this is the one exception. I used it after a shower the day I received it when my face was cOVERED in hormonal acne (I very rarely have acne but sometimes it be like that) and I was amazed.

Instantly, my skin looked brighter and clearer. I’ve had pesky dead skin and redness around my nose that I hadn’t been able to get rid of for months (love winter) and this, though it wasn’t completely successful, made it look MUCH better.

It is slightly abrasive and my skin burned a little when I followed it up with serum the first time I used it but this hasn’t happened since. The GOOPGLOW is soft and creamy with very small abrasive particles in it and it has an instant payoff (it even made my hand feel softer when I was patch testing it).

I’ve used this four times since I received it and each time I’ve been very happy with the results. Also, this does cost a lot but a little really does go a long way. The first time, I just scooped some that was stuck to the lid and it covered my whole face.

The cost is slightly prohibitive which is the only reason why I gave this four stars but I would definitely consider buying it again because it is a stellar product! I bought this approximately a month ago as I couldn’t get my regular (bondi sands). The actually material is fantastic and does what is meant to but unfortunately there is a massive hole that has opened up along the stitching making the glove harder to use.

Disappointing for a months use, something I would expect after 6 plus months.

Oh. My. Gosh. Actually disgusted in what came off my body after using this glove! It didn’t irritate my skin like every other mitt I’ve used and my skin is sooooo smooth! Like a baby’s bum all round!

I was a little a sceptical purchasing this as I wasn’t sure how well it would work…. OMG! It works so well! I can see the dead skin coming off of my body and my skin was SO smooth after …. I would definitely recommend this product.

Good but didn’t make that much of a difference on my skin for a month… Made my skin feel better right after wash though but not help with tan skin. And later it dry out the skin.

I am fond of many Neutrogena products, this one included! It is not only a great body exfoliator but it really does seem to prep your skin for a nice tan!

I tried this product for the first time yesterday and it works great. You can really feel it exfoliating your skin and leaves it nice and smooth. it leaves way for you to have a super nice and even tan.

So for years I have tried to get a good exfoliator, I have tried expensive brands and more affordable brands but have never found one that I loved. Then I discovered this product. I use it in the shower add my shower gel to a wet glove and scrub away! You can use this time and time again, so quality is amazing and is really really good value for money! I love this product!.

To be honest I bought it as an exfoliator glove rather than tan eraser. And it does the job! I tried different exfoliators before but this one is really good quality. It exfoliates well and removes all the dead skin from your body.

I use it in the shower preferably at the end of a hot shower, on a half wet skin it works amazingly.

Bought this as I’ve tried loads of tan remover products. I use bondi sands tan eraser and then use this in between tans and it’s honestly the best exfoliant mitt I’ve used. It actually takes off the tan and leaves your skin feeling so smooth.

There’s no strong fragrance, which is a plus. And packaging is minimalistic chic. I’m just not happy with the results. It’s very weak, and I didn’t get that next-morning glow/softness that I usually do when I use a chemical exfoliant the night before.

I would say this felt weaker than stridex pads. Will probably try to return.

I’m a big fan of Korean beauty products as the ones I’ve tried in the past have been great. I didn’t realize this was made in Korea until I received it. That was a pleasant surprise. This exfoliant does it’s job.

I’ve been using it like a toner and just using my hands instead of a cotton pad to avoid wasted product, and it seems to be working fine.

I liked the #body #polish. I didn’t like it enough to buy it again. It was supposed to help with you #glow, but I think any #exfoliant will help with your glow because it’s removing dead skin from your #body.

I was really excited when I ordered the entire set. it worked well my skin was #softer and #firmer however I can’t remember if there was a smell. I didn’t notice a difference from my other body polish if my #skin #glowed any differently.

Was looking to get an exfoliator that wouldn’t make some break out (some fragranced products make me break out). Aware that this was intended for body I decided to try. And it works great for me and my overly dry skin and I do only use a small bit to not be too abrasive and it still is wonderful.

And smells nice and not over powering.

My favorite self tanner! It does have a mild scent, but it’s not overwhelming like some other self tanners I’ve used. I like that this gradually fades and opposed to others I have used that fade in patches.

It does take a little while to dry completely but it is worth it!.
