I got my ID. 4 two weeks ago and it came with a Level 1 charger! Booooo! My daughters gave me for Father’s Day a gift certificate for Lowe’s a couple of weeks before I got my EV. Checked at Lowe’s for EV Chargers and this one looked fairly good for the price.

I ordered it and saved $100. 00, thank you girls! I was extremely impressed of the packaging and quality as soon as I opened the box. Charged my car twice already and it works amazingly well! I strongly recommend this charger!.

I just bought a new RAV4 Prime and bought this to take advantage of the 220 Volt charger. I installed the wall socket myself with no trouble. It plugged in and has worked perfectly! The 18’ cord is plenty long for my garage and the plug fit my car perfectly.

It appears to be solidly built and I would highly recommend it.

The unit seems to be well built and good quality! However just know this the unit has a extremely long 5 ft leader cable and a 13 ft cable running from the unit to the car charger plug to make up the 18 ft! I believe that should have been in the description when I purchased it! Other than that it seems to be a good unit!.

Use this to charge a 2021 BMW x drive 30e. Had electrician install NEMA 14-50 wall plug (for my other car – Tesla model 3) with 50A breaker. The unit seems to be well made and has a nice display on the device so you can verify proper connection, current flow and voltage.

Would recommend for any j1772 slow charging at home. Also has nice plug cover.

This charger is perfect for me. I have a dryer outlet in my garage. Using it saved me about $1500 over hiring an electrician to come and install a charger that I buy. It works perfectly, and I am very pleased with the relatively short time, compared to my Level 1 charger, it takes to charge my Kona EV.

I have been using this charger for a week now with my Honda Clarity Plug in Hybrid. The 110V. charger that came with the car was charging from empty to full charge in about 12 hours. The Lectron Level 2 now does the same job in two hours flat.

I did a lot of shopping before purchasing this device and found many similar chargers selling for more than twice the price of this unit and I can see no difference in quality as the charger, cord and plug are quite sturdy and built to last.

First, in case you didn’t know, Siemens does nothing but the highest quality industrial equipment and this unit is no different. For all the complexity associated with EVs and charging equipment, this one is absolutely brain-dead easy to use.

Unlike my usual self that reads every word on user manuals, I took the unit out of the box, plugged it to the wall and plugged to my car. I didn’t even mount it to the wall (yet) and did not have to configure anything or press any buttons on the front panel.

When was the last time you did that with anything and had a good outcome? My car immediately recognized it as a Level 2 charging station and charged accordingly at full power. The VC30GRYU comes with a plug installed already so it’s an easy matter of plugging it to the wall on a 220V outlet.

Beyond the plug-an-play that you get out of the box, this unit can be configured for a number of features including LED indicator, timer, remotely wired control and amperage control. Communicating with the EV to set the current output makes this unit a tad more sophisticated than your average “contactor-in-a-box” models out there.

Current setting is great as it means that – in a pinch – you can plug it to nearly any 220V outlet, including those that don’t have full 30A rating. You don’t want to rely on this though but it can help in some temporary cases where a full rated outlet is not available.

It is also quasi-portable so take it with you on long trips to Grandma’s and charge in under 4 hours. You might need an adapter if, for example, a clothes dryer outlet does not have straight legs like the plug included with this unit.

I ordered this on Amazon and received it quickly. I was not looking forward to mounting this and setting it up but, surprisingly it was super easy. They include a template with the product that allows you to just mount it using drywall brackets! (was incredibly surprised at that).

I got it up and plugged in in less than 10 minutes. The box itself is sturdy and not wobbly and the little display is easy to read (when up close). The power button adds some extra safety to the unit as well as the fact that if you don’t turn it off, most cars won’t release the cable.

This was smart and was worth mentioning in the manual.

I am really pleased with my experience with this EV charger and it’s one of the best that I have ever used. First of all, this EV charger is high speed and can charge my Prius much faster than the other charger I have.

I would say it’s 1x faster and it’s performance is superb. The instructions of this EV charger are clear and self explanatory. Secondly, this EV charger is made of sturdy materials and you can tell the quality of the charger is high.

You can instantly tell the difference between this charger and most other chargers on the market. It’s very nice quality and the charger is strongly made. Overall speaking this charger is a great addition to my house.

However, one recommendation I would like to make is that the charger can be of better length but other than that it’s a great charger!.

I would normally be hesitant to get my own charger like this but have use Schumacher products in past and have always been pleased. This product also did not dissapoint! It is great quality, nice design, easy to use, and it does exactly what it is supposed to do! With the universal plug makes it easily compatible.

I purchased this new charger about two weeks ago. I have been enjoying it so far. With our Honda Clarity, we are getting about 29. 5A; with our Tesla, we get about 39. 5A which is very close to what is promised.

It is charging faster than our previous Level 2 Charger. This charger adds up about 30 mi/h while the older one was adding 20 mi/h to our Tesla.

Beat the others we tried with added features. I’ve tried a couple other chargers for our Fiat 500e, they were ok but the build quality just wasn’t there and the plug was very hard to remove on one brand compared to the one that came with the vehicle.

Really happy with the charger from Primecom for one, all the others had 24-25′ cables, this one comes with a 30′ cable and that made a big difference in parking the vehicle in the garage in relation to the outlet.

This charger also has the ability to have it’s amperage adjusted “excellent idea”. When we need the car charged fast I can have it run at full power and the car charges in about 3. 5hrs. But since we have solar I like to balance the amount of power it is pulling in relation to how much our solar system is putting out at mid day.

We have a 9. 3kWh system so it has plenty of juice but in the winter months it drops down. So with this charger all I have to do is adjust down the power and let it charge without going over our solar output, “I check this with the Solar Edge app”.

This charger is also feels sturdier in hand and the plug is not hard to pull out at all, just like our original Fiat charger. If you are looking for a portable charger I’d look strongly at this one, with the added benefit of being able to adjust the power it uses it makes it that much more versatile.

Nice to not be on Level 1 any more I ordered the 30′ 14-30P version so I could share my dryer outlet, since I wasn’t yet to call an electrician out to add another circuit to my garage. The company seems to really care about you being happy, and love their approach to offing different lengths of cable by varying the pigtail length.

On the J1772 side it is the standard length to the control box, and the on the 14-30 plug side they have a NEMA L6-30R & P inserted between the 14-30 and the control box, so however long they need to make, they can.

I especially like this approach because I have a 14-30 splitter, one connected to my dryer, and one connected to the approx 5′ 14-30P>L6-30R, and when I need to use the EVSE, I just connect the L6-30R & P together, and saves me from needing to go behind the dryer and always plugging in the heavier 14-30P.

I’ve only had it a day, but love this approach, and so glad I can charge faster than my L1. I haven’t found the J1772 connector to bind up or be hard to remove as other reviewers have mentioned, so not sure if this is a newer version, but it connects/disconnects with the same force as any commercial or my stock L1 charger does.

This is a reputable brand, so I’m sure it will last, but have no doubt if I do end up having a problem that Primecom would try to resolve it.

Great J1772 charger This charger works great for my Tesla Model 3 (using the J1772 adapter). I purchased the 6-20 NEMA with a 50 foot cord. My car charges at 240v 16a, adding about 14-15 miles per hour.

The 50 foot cord allows me to reach multiple parking spots in my driveway and garage. The cord is much, much longer than the Tesla mobile charger cord. The cord does not get warm during charging — seems to be high quality.

240v 16a isn’t the fastest, but it’s more than enough to get a full charge overnight. I like that the power cord has a twist lock so that I could swap plugs if needed. Great charger overall.

The charger cord arrived in a zippered carrying case and has met all my expectations. I particularly like the small LCD display on the control pack integral with the cable. It includes connection information, displaying a counting clock, an ammeter, and a watt-hour meter.

I had an electric stove that I replaced with a gas stove, and that left me with a 220 volt outlet, where I simply plugged this EVSE into and fortunately, my kitchen is near my driveway.

I ran the cord down through the floor and out to the driveway and I’m set. This EVSE performs perfectly! It will work with ANY car that supports the standard J1772 plug. I have a 2016 Nissan Leaf. I highly recommend this product.

50’ Product works perfectly for 2019 Chevy Volt with EXCELLENT customer service to back it up!! I ordered the 50’ length in hopes I could plug into my dryer outlet and not have to hardwire in a house I may not be in more than a year.

Everything came as promised except that I was a doofus and mistakenly ordered wrong plug style. Fortunately the seller was AWESOME and sent me the correct plug style right away, no charge, and only asked I return the wrong one to them.

When I received the right plug, I plugged it in to my 2019 Chevy Volt and everything appeared to be working great! But what was astounding is that it overdelivers and is EASILY 4X FASTER than the regular charger my car came with.

I haven’t timed it, but can go from empty to a full charge in right about 3 hours, and that is FANTASTSTIC. Voltage is stable, no breaker issues, and a super long cord to make it around my house into my driveway.

It works for Kia Niro plug-in This is the cheapest one when you skip for all the bell and whistle for other more expensive model like smart phone monitor, scheduling and etc. Since most of the car has those functions already, it doesn’t make sense to buy the charger with those extra thing.

This charger is smaller than the one included with the Niro but it does charge 3 times as fast. It took 7h30m to charge the battery from 10% to 100% with the included home charger. It took only 2h30m to charge with this charger.

This charger is small and I can’t believe it costs that much for such a small device. Since it’s my first day, I hope it doesn’t do any bad thing to the battery since it is small compare with other more expensive charger with bigger size.

Maybe for the Niro, since it has only a 9Kw battery, this is enough.

This is one of the easiest wifi connected chargers available. The set up for the charger takes about 3 mins from the time you turn it on till the time its rebooting with the correct wifi information for your home network, The phone app has a wealth of data available at your finger tips as to charging, how much, how long and so on.

The app supports smart charging so you can set up TOC times and charge when the rates are the cheapest and I found it to be much easier than setting up with of my cars ( Pacifica Hybrid, Tesla M3). The charger has worked flawlessly with both of my cars.

Since an Electrician was going to charge $1,500 to run a L2 line to the garage where I park my Honda Clarity, I decided to try using a 30 AMP Dryer Outlet that’s already there to charge my Honda Clarity from time to time when I can’t wait for an overnight charge; however, I wanted a charger that would demand marginally less than than 30 AMP for safety reasons on that circuit.

FURTHER: I also wanted a charger that I could easily switch over to a 110-volt outlet for the vast majority of the time. However, the cable that came with the car was not long enough to easily reach the outlet in my garage.

THIS CHARGER WAS THE PERFECT SOLUTION. It has the ability to preset the demand based on AMPS available so you know for certain you are not pulling too much through the circuit and looking for trouble.

This baby finally came and I was so excited to use it for my Tesla. First of all Schumacher is a reputable company so I have all the confidence in the world that this will last, since my first portable charger I bought broke within 3 weeks.

The cord is super long. I love that it’s portable because you never know, I would hate to be stranded somewhere because my car is dead. The level 2 charges the car super fast too I was impressed. It took a little under 8 hours to fully charge.

This is great I can keep one charger at home and keep this one in my car to feel at ease.

What really attracted me to this product was the fact you can use it with a regular household plug. This feature gives me the ability to take my EV to places that I never could before. This cable is ideal as a back up for those occasions when you visit friends without a wall charger and need to top up/recharge your electric vehicle. As the maximum charge is 10A (2. 4KwH) supplied by a 13Amp normal mains socket, this cable is probably more use to those with Plug in Hybrid vehicles with limited battery capacity as charge will take several hours (overnight) to re-charge completely.

However it will work on pure Electric vehicles with a Mode 2 Type 1 socket as well – just a very long time to charge fully. Very good value at Screwfix and unit is well made, supplied with covers for the vehicle connector and mains plug.

The LCD display shows current/charge rate and LED indicators show charge state/any faults etc. The 10 metre version is more versatile if you need to reach further away as you should not use this cable with coiled up Extension leads.

I’ve only used it a couple of times – so it gets 4 stars on reliablity, as you need time to reach 5 stars. So far no issues.

We purchased our first EV, an ID3 and then thought about how to charge it ! To provide an early fix i looked for a cable that would work off the 13A mains. Several available at varying prices on line but this one from Screwfix meets all my needs at a competitive price and is a solid construction that was available next working day locally.

With the additional carry bag bought separately this is a neat tidy solution that I can carry in the car for use away from home. Easy to use with clear instructions on the reverse of the control unit.

It did not get hot when charging and with its bright green cable is difficult to trip over and easily distinguished from the black commercial charge point cable we have in the car. This will meet our charging needs until we can get a 7kW or similar charge point installed.

As a new Renault Zoe owner, I wasn’t going for a Wall box charger straight away. I just want a charge at home in the off-peak hours for now. You can plug into your three pin sockets then using the Type 2 socket into the car and start charging.

Using the car’s on-board programming, you can specify the hours and exclusively cover off-peak rates. When the Masterplug Unit is plugged in and turned on at the socket (all the lights are showing) and your programme is set in the car, you just have to leave it to turn on at the given time.

Mine works every time. If you wish to charge without worrying about off-peak, you just have to flip the programme in the car off and move to immediate charge, ensuring the lights on your car are showing, it will charge until full, or if you wish to interrupt.

If you are really empty of charge, repeat your off-peak programme a couple of nights. The amount of charge given shows on the unit’s meter, before you turn off, so that you can make a photo and do calculations based on your Hourly rate, to prove how much cheaper it is than going to a Rapid charger each time.

This is an L2 charger. There are a good number of other L2 chargers out there and when hooked up to this it will charge just as fast as any other brand L2 charger that can supply up to 40A on 240v. They’re all somewhere around the same price as well with maybe a $50 variance plus or minus.

On a $600+ purchase that’s not a game-changer. What is a game-changer is the smarts built in. You get a dashboard so you can watch how much power is flowing through it, get logs and graphs and the like, or have it only charge when the price of power becomes cheap at night and stuff like that.

They have an optional feature where if will only charge your car based upon how “green” the power mix of the grid is. Yes your car might give you some of these features but not all. It also does all this regardless of what car it is, or even if the car is yours.

If your friend comes over you they can plug in and all the same features are active because they’re build into the charger and not depending on the car to have them. Another major feature and the reason I bought these is because they’ll negotiate with each other for power sharing.

You might think you’re only buying one one these but if you have multiple cars in the house and you have just one EV right now you’ll eventually have one of these things per parking spot. An EV charging can soak up a lot of power and that may overrun your breaker panel capacity, or maybe you have just one wiring run but you want to somehow hang two chargers off the same wire.

You can do that with these. They can negotiate with each other for how much current to draw. Say you have one car charging but two chargers on the same wire run. You come plug in a second one and the permitted draw will get split.

The first car finished charging and then the second one ramps up to the full power draw. This split is highly configurable as you can have load groups nested within load groups like if you have some in a sub-panel.

Any reasonable configuration can be made to work with these things. Lastly, they provide an API so your home automation can poke at it. This lets you do stuff like if the grid goes down and you have storage then you can curtail charging if the household storage goes below a certain limit.

Yes, if you have all Tesla everywhere you can do that too, but this lets you do it across brands. They’ll also pair with Alexa and Google Home. Oh, and the handle is robust metal and not some chintzy plastic like a lot of other brands.

With purchase of my first EV (Bolt EV) 4 years ago, the first home charger purchased was a JuiceBox 32 WiFi enabled. That charger worked so well when I purchased my home I upgraded to the JuiceBox 40 and am just as pleased with this model as I was with the JuiceBox 32.

The best part of the purchase was the rebate from my power company when the dedicated plug was installed. That was applied to the cost of the JuiceBox, so an unexpected savings. The app is easy to setup and very easy to use, there are a few settings that has to be done online, otherwise all can be done through the app.

This is an awesome product. My old JuiceBox 32 now lives in the car as a travel charger. I highly recommend any JuiceBox product.

The app and wi-fi capabilities actually offer more functionality than I even use. The design is simple, functional, and attractive. My only nitpick might be that the cable is too short and stiff. I park my EV such that the port is the farthest it can be from the charger.

The cable reaches, but I have to lay it on the floor where it could be tripped on instead of skirting around the edge of the garage.

Worked great right out of the box. Nicely packaged. Easy to use. I like the power indicator light. Fits fine. The dock is great too. This is a simple, effective, & inexpensive way to keep your J1772 EV charger and cable off the garage floor and out of the way.

Installation took 5 minutes — 4 screws into studs or drywall with the included anchors. It seems very sturdy.

Purchased this charger recently and received it fast. I had an electrician put in a 240V circuit and wired it directly. The charger is sleek looking and does not protrude much into the garage given how slim it is.

The product does exactly what it needs to do. If you’re comfortable working with electrical it’s easy to install too. It connects easily to my 2019 Nissan Leaf.
