20 Best Ethernet Adapter For Switch (2023 Updated)

For everyone saying to just buy the cheaper generic one, you CAN’T! they will only work for a couple of days, then you won’t get a connection. Nintendo has proprietary software inbedded into the switch.

You can only use the officially branded LAN adapter.

Since the Switch dock is already tethered by HDMI and AC, it makes sense to use the ethernet adapter for a LAN connection. With that said, this adapter performs flawlessly. Never had an issue with connectivity.

Great value for an OEM product.

The adapter works as it should. Driver automatically downloads and the internet is consistent.

I have 6 of the 2. 0 hubs. Been working fine for the last year. I then try out this new 3. 0 hub. Its already not working. Havent even used it for more than 2 days. Maybe quality on these 3. 0 Hin are not as good.

The product is great and the quality is satisfying. Would recommend it to someone who has weak Wi-Fi signal and can use LAN cable.

I works for about 2 minutes….slows down….gets really HOT!!!..then stops working. Disconnected it, allowed to cool off, repeat. Same results. Tossed away over $35 dollars. Not recommended

I was almost going to send this product back, as it wasnt working with my MacBook Air. I was plugging it into my very expensive Apple usb -c adaptor and it wasnt working. After a week of cursing and painful online lessons with bad internet, I plugged it directly into the computer and bingo, it worked a treat.

It works well. It seems quite expensive for what it is, and its size, but it does the trick. Remember, plug it directly into the computer and not an adaptor!.

This adapter did work, but it was incredibly slow: a third of the speed I get from a wireless (WiFi) connection, rendering the adapter useless. I verified this with various speed tests, and the results were consistently bad.

(the ethernet cable I use works great when plugged directly in my desktop computer, so this is 100% the adapter’s fault).

I have an older Macbook Pro with two Thunderbolt 2 ports. I tried a USB ethernet adapter, only to find that I could get up to 100 Mbps speed. Out of the box, I was able to quickly configure this Thunderbolt adapter and get gigabit speed to my computer.

My only gripe is that I use two monitors and had them set up for DisplayPort to Thunderbolt. I had to switch one of the monitors from DisplayPort to HDMI to accommodate for this adapter; a bypass would’ve been nice (the USB version I bought from Moshi has this).

Bottom line, though, is that this works and serves my needs. For reliability, I assume it will last like most other Apple accessories, assuming I don’t step on it or put undue stress on the cable. The cable seems sturdy, and the two connectors are made of the same harder plastic that I’ve had on other Apple products that hold up well to wear and tear.

Okay, so. Who is this product for This adapter is perfect for those who want to get the fastest internet speeds possible to their Mac, and those who want to be able to access the internet as there is no WiFi the signal is very weak.

In my case, most of the time I need this cable as one of the essential things to pack when transporting my Mac, whether that be to a lecture or for just having for when Im in a location where the WiFi signal in my room is weak.

This cable proved to be more useful than I primarily anticipated. This is because I first purchased the adapter to obtain a more secure internet speed, in comparison to running on WiFi, which worked a treat and I can now have good internet speeds like they should be when Im on the right side of the house.

But this was also useful as a cheeky way to get around my XI forms WiFi, where I could then access certain websites that were otherwise blocked on the WiFi, such as YouTube, Spotify, SoundCloud and so on.

The adapter provides a male thunderbolt 2 connection on one side, so any Macs with a thunderbolt female available will be able to use this adapter, to an Ethernet female. In order to connect to the internet, you will have to provide your own Ethernet cable so that you can plug it into the female Ethernet connection on the adapter to your internet source, whether this be a modem or internet switch or anything else that you use to plug in your Ethernet cable.

Do I think that this product was worth the purchase Yes. Do I think its worth its money No. However, it seems although it seems contradicting, I would buy the product again in a heartbeat if I lost it, but Its not worth the money I paid which was 25.

There are other options on the market that sell this adapter much cheaper, that Im sure does the same thing. I would question whether the build quality is as good as Apples adapter and if the internals will provide the same quality of internet speeds, as I believe some adapters, like modems can be not as powerful and not provide the same speeds even if using the same internet and Ethernet cable.

Although there are cons or should I say con of the price. It is a solid product and something worth looking into if you want a better internet connection to your Mac if it doesnt have an Ethernet port available.

Amazing! The product works well, connecting is easy

I picked up several of these since our new computers are not shipping with USB-A ports. There is a note inside to download and install the drivers before connecting. I did connect the device without the drivers on a fully updated Windows 10 machine and it worked right away.

I did download the drivers and update it but not sure what it may have fixed as it worked just fine out of the box. Unfortunately there are no indicator lights to know if you are connected which will does not help for troubleshooting (although I did not need to troubleshoot anything).

Just Works!! No drivers needed for macOS!! I got this to use with my late 2016 MacBook Pro 13. Other adapters I’ve tried require drivers. these drivers tend to cause other issues. This unit needs no drives, all I had to do is plug it in! The only drawback I see is that it doesn’t have a link light, but the link is visible in the macOS network preferences.

I use StartTech products where I work and have always had a great experience with that brand. While other brands stop working, StartTech keeps going. This is no exception.

This product does what it is needed to do, however, I gave it 3 stars because this is the second one I had to buy. Had issues with the first one only after 7 months. The wire which connects the Ethernet hub to the USB jack started to fray and gave me more and more issues connecting to the internet.

My reason for buying another one is because you need to download software and since my notebook doesn’t have a CD ROM drive I had to download the software which was an issue in itself. To avoid that I purchased the same brand and hopefully it will last longer than 7 months.

Simple adapter that just works. Plug and play unit. no dvds or external software to install. Computer recognized upon plug in, and set it up. This will work well if you have a damaged or missing Ethernet connector on your laptop.

Works exactly as I expected it to. My new laptop (being a slim model) did not have an ethernet port. I like to use ethernet at home instead of wifi. This did the trick.

Ok guys, So here is my opinion and I did a lot of research before buying this one. I put it on a 2013 Challenger RT which was pretty quiet for that year. The newer cars have more aggresive & louder sound with stock exhaust.

For this year (2013), this exhaust system made a huge difference. It sounds very aggressive but not annoying like some. When you start it up you can differently tell a difference and when you get on the gas its like unleashing the pack.

Heads do turn and people automatically want to race you more with this stock exhaust system. Easy to install even though I had a shop I know do it while I was working. If you have a 2017 or newer I don’t think it will make a huge difference because they made the RT sound aggressive with stock exhaust but for older this Borla system does a great job.

This system is above normal quality, will be still going longer than the car it is on. It is heavy duty weighs twice what OE system weighs. Sounds great nice bark , only down fall a little drone when slowing down quick.

At highway speeds excellent no drone as I have experienced with other systems. Tried it at speeds same no drone. better get one quick before they sell out. This is not a cheap copy it is the real deal!.

This product arrived in great packaging. Exhaust fits perfect. Installed in driveway on jack stands in less than 2 hours start to finish. Sound is exactly what I was looking for, nothing over the top.

I made a big mistake with this purchase. I needed Ethernet access for my MacBook Pro with only USB-C and similar Thunderbolt connectors. After ripping up the packaging, I realized this device was for Apple’s first generation Thunderbolt.

Shame on you Apple for not specifying which generation Thunderbolt your product utilizes. Now I’m out the cost of this thing and can’t use it. I’ll probably donate it somewhere.

This thing works and saves you from tying up one of your USB ports if youre connecting to an Ethernet cable. I believe it also maximises your connection speed but I wouldnt know about that because I live in the British countryside where Im lucky to get 4 MBPS on a good day, with the wind behind me.

Its a solidly made item and does its job perfectly well. I cant give more than three stars however for two reasons. Firstly the price is preposterous and secondly it shouldnt be necessary to use one at all.

I occasionally have a need to access Much higher speed Internet from a public access ethernet connection than is available with my standard in home wi-fi/internet access. While searching for a new laptop that met all my needs including Ethernet port I was running against a wall.

I started researching the potential of adapters to provide access to ethernet via USB-C (one of my requirements). This unit seemed to meet my needs and purchase price was less than the upgrade cost to include the ethernet function in many of the laptops I was considering.

This item worked perfectly for me! I needed to setup a console for an IBM iSeries Power 6. The days of twinax for these machines are long gone, but I did not want to keep changing the ethernet adapter in my PC to accommodate a fixed IP address on the iSeries that I was attempting to connect to, so I bought this and switched to it when I wanted to connect to the console on the iSeries.

I now have TCPIP set up on the iSeries and can use iAccess for Windows, but if I ever need to log into a console session, this will be my connection device.
