20 Best Essential Oils For Beards (2023 Updated)

Not the best experience. Bought 2 bottles of this Beard Oil and a jar of Beard Butter after having purchased the Live Bearded sample pack. I was really impressed with all the scents, but really loved the CANYON scented Beard Oil, and Beard Butter.

Right out of the bottle it has a very pleasant juniper scent which is my favorite. HOWEVER, after applying several drops to my beard, it becomes immediately scentLESS, unlike the oil I used from my sample packs.

Add to that, I apply the CANYON Beard Butter to my beard and still no scent detected after I’ve applied it. When I used the oils and beard butter from my sample packs the scents would be detectable most of the day which my wife really enjoyed.

Not so with the bottled CANYON oil and beard butter. It’s okay if scentless is what you want, but I can find unscented oils anywhere for less. I was looking forward to a pleasant long lasting Pinyon, , Cypress and Fir Needle scent in these products like I experienced in the sample packs.

That part is disappointing.

I ordered the beard growth kit with the vitamins. The label on the vitamins does not specify any side effects nor can I get anyone to email me back answering my question about whether or not the vitamins effect body hair.

I know they say it’s for your beard but how can it target just beard hair? Also, one side effect is diarrhea for sure! Just a heads up there. Don’t believe they’re FDA approved either, based on the verbiage on the bottle.

They definitely say everything you need to hear and aside from the vitamins, everything seems fine. The wooden comb is cool too. The lack of communication is the vital missing point in my opinion though.

Not a good way to sell your brand but I’m sure y’all are doing just fine. Hope this helps and maybe I can get someone to reach out to me about my question finally.

Beard oil is the main product I use on my beard (I never really used beard wash or conditioner until recently), and I’ve tried a number of other products. The oil from Livebearded is high-quality stuff.

I love how light the oil is; the consistency is on the thinner side. Most beard oils I’ve tried are thicker, like olive oil, whereas the Livebearded oil is closer to baby oil, without that nasty, greasy feeling.

It goes on easy and smells great, too! I have been using the Wingman beard oil, which was my favorite scent from the sampler pack. I don’t know if my beard is dry, or if the other oils I’ve tried were just super heavy, but my beard seems to soak this oil up.

There’s definitely no oily feeling, just a soft beard. Definitely recommended!.

Uncle Jimmy’s “Beard Growth Oil” not only is a great product, Its a great deal ! This oil also pair’s great with their “Beard Gro Balm” for a fantastic finish to my beard. I have seen a renewed health in my beard.

This oil is absolutely amazing! It leaves your beard shiny without any greasiness and your beard will look and feel moisturized all day. The shine in daylight is great and I have definitely received multiple compliments since I have used it throughout the last few days.

I’;m a huge fan of Zeus beard wash and conditioner. But never tried the beard oil or balm cuz it was always sold out at my local shop vixen and beard. But also cuz I had 6 other bottles. This oil, is incredibly good quality.

It’;s consistency is thinner than uppercuts beard balm, but more creamy to me than an actual oil. Apothecary 87′;s Muskoka is a very close comparison. And this is even with it in performance. Bottle and pump is high quality and works great.

This worked great for about 5 or 6 hours, which is above average for me. Doesn’;t have a lot of hold, but definitely is there in a way, maybe just a little more hold if combined with a balm. The only criticism is that it’;s very natural smelling.

In that the oils used in making it outshine the fragrance oils. Which to me, having right under my nose isn’;t nice. But I will suffer through that and just combine with mustache wax so I’;m not smelling it.

My girlfriend loves the smell so maybe it’;s just my nose. But the performance stands out most for me. This is a brand that actually warrants the price tag, unlike other main stream beard brands. Cough cough.

This Beard Oil is not like anything I have ever used before. I have a full beard and usually have to shave it off after it gets to a certain length, because it gets messy and hard to control. With the ZEUS Refined beard oil, I am now growing my beard longer and fuller.

It allows me to comb or brush the hair like I want it. The oil isn’t a spray, but is like a gel. I use only Two pumps to get the right amount for my beard. I use any excess on my face in place of lotion.

The fragrance is great too. I’m not one for a lot of cologne or scents, but this beard oil has a great scent and my wife tends to like it a lot. It has a lot of natural ingredients in it and is supposed good for hair and skin.

I can’t tell you how much better ZEUS Refined beard oil is compared to other sprays and conditioners I’ve used.

Old school beard guy and never did much to my beard other than groom it. Was told by my barber to look into using oils to help soften it. Found Rocky Mountain and being a proud Canadian had to try something from a Canadian company.

The oils work great and the Mrs loves the softness of my beard and the nice scents. Will definitely be buying more from Rocky Mountain. Look forward to trying other products.

I read good things about these products but there was a polarization of views about whether the scents were good or if they were too strong. The sample kit let me try each out without committing to a big bottle.

Not a fan of the Cedarwood personally, but I think Sandalwood has a rich, sweet scent and Bamboo is very crisp and fresh. Unscented has no strong aroma as advertised.

Received my sample pack last week and couldn’t be happier. I’m leaning towards the Bamboo as my favorite but the other 2 scents are fantastic as well. Ordered the sample beard balm as a follow up and that should arrive today.

I have tried many beard oils. Bossman does it right!! I got the “Gold” scent to start with from them & I haven’t been disappointed at all. The scent itself is very mild (I actually don’t mind this at all) I usually go for strong scents that I believe I’ll enjoy, but I took a chance with Gold (lots of different scents that blend well together) & have been really happy with how easy it is to apply (absorbs easily in the beard) light scent, but again you don’t need much.

I’m sold on all of Bossman’s products I’ve tried to date, will continue to support these excellent items!! I would say the scent is mild enough that ANY gentleman would enjoy it.

At this time don’t have any dislikes with the product mainly because it’s a different type of formula without the oily mess and feel. Do to the lack of tacky oil feel it’s easy to apply onto my beard and face.

I’ve always had a beard that is curly and grows in well, but doesn’t look good because of the curls. It sort of grows within itself. However, I showered last night with the shampoo and conditioner for my beard.

It feels great when you lather it. Straight after drying my beard, it was immediately softer than with previous beard and shampoo conditioner. It also appeared some what more tame. I then did the rest of my routine and finished with the beard oil into the beard balm.

The beard oil worked wonders. My beard was shiny and smelled incredible. It lingers for a LONG time! The beard balm was another home run, Beard was able to be brushed to style and again, smelled great.

My beard looks much more uniform and neat just after combining these products for a single day. My girlfriend also noticed and said how great it smelled. Can’t speak on long term use yet, but so far the products I have used are phenomenal.

Definitely beats the target maestro brands I had been using! I also ordered the boars head beard brush for thin to medium beards. It is very high quality as well. Can not recommend this brand or product more!.

Been using this kit for over a week now. I love the scent (verbena lime) and it’s not overpowering in any of the products. The shampoo is gentle on cleaning and doesn’t irritate my skin. The conditioner really softens the hair up a lot and smooths it down.

The refined oil is the star of this kit. It is not overly greasy and shines up the hair and smooths it out for easy grooming. It is great on my skin underneath the beard which has eliminated any itching and dandruff.

The brush is really good too which helps with styling. My only complaint was in shipping. One of the bottles had leaked just a little bit. Overall, this kit is fantastic for all the products in it especially the oil.

Definitely recommend for anyone with a thick bushy beard.

The Everyday Beard Care Kit is by far my husband’s favorite! Zeus has the best beard care products my husband has ever used. He has bought a few different brands over the years, and we never like them because the smells are usually overwhelming and they just don’t keep his beard soft and manageable.

Zeus brand products are now not just his go-to, they are his one and only! The verbena lime scent is light and fresh, and the products in the kit help keep his beard looking and feeling its best. I buy this kit twice a year for him.

Me and my fiancé both love this beard oil. My fiancé says this scent is “my smell” and that she associates that scent with me and it can’t change Good thing I love this scent. Smells really manly. It’s not overly sweet and it has notes of some sort of cigar smokiness.

I was pretty disappointed with this product. I purchased the beard oil and butter package in the Holy Grail scent after watching a bunch of reviews on YouTube from guys who raved about this scent. I was excited to try it and nabbed it during the big sale they had recently.

Everyone I saw spoke very highly of this particular scent but I’m not sure if I got a bad batch or what but the scent was almost non existent. The little scent that I could pick up on smelled nice but to be honest it seems like maybe they dialed back on it or something.

I just don’t see what all the fuss was about. I even asked my wife and she said the same thing. “It smells nice but its like there’s nothing there. ” The scent doesn’t last long either. Maybe an hour at most.

Just a bit disappointing for a product that is usually so exspensive and highly rated. The brushed glass bottle is nice though and the dropper is probably the best I’ve used. The butter which I purchased in the same scent may as well have been unscented.

Look we all know that The Holy Grail is one of the best scents EVER. But what I’m really leaving this review for is the customer service. I emailed them with a question about their formula, just asking if it had changed because the smell of the oil I just ordered was kind of off.

I love the beard oil. I use lots of Jack Black products and the beard oil is all I was needing to keep my beard looking and smelling fresh. The scent is great and is the feel. I wish it came in a bigger bottle, in one week I have used half of the one ounce bottle.

As I expected, this beard oil is of very high quality. Tom Ford products are never cheap but you get what you pay for in my opinion. I have the oud wood private blend fragrance as well so I knew what this was going to smell like.

I pair it together with this beard oil for a little extra boost. The smell is AMAZING. Not too strong but enough to get subtle whiffs of it for at least a few hours. I use 3 squirts on my medium length beard and it’s more than enough to soften it up and add just a bit of shine.

It doesn’t leave any greasy feel whatsoever. Overall I’m very satisfied and I will buy this again! Highly recommend to anyone looking to upgrade their beard grooming.

Feels great, smells even better. I use this along with the 313 butter every night and pretty often during the day. The amber and vanilla combine for a really nice and calming scent. Was a little worried toasted vanilla might be too feminine, but not the case at all.

The scent is noticeable, but not over powering. This is really truly in my top 2 favorite of all time. I definitely most consistently use the 313 products. Just all around great, I highly recommend it, especially if you’re a fan of vanilla scents.

I just finished my 313 beard oil and must say Detroit Grooming has some of the best quality products around. They have a great feel in beard that’s nourishing without feeling too oily and greasy. I definitely recommend trying all there products and finding the right sent for you.

The 313 is definitely on the sweet side but in a subtle not too overwhelming way that doesn’t make you feel sick after smelling constantly.

The scents are so great that it is hard to pick a favorite. I finally decided on the Fastball & Fisticuffs. My Wife’s favorite is Horse Shoes & Hand Grenades. These oils come in 2oz containers which is double the amount from the last company I used to purchase from (until I stumbled across this gem).

Love the beard oil. Smells great without being overpowering. Keeps my beard soft and smooth. Do not like the container. Tends to leave remnants under the cap, which inevitably leak down the sides and eventually to the countertop.

The headline is serious. This stuff smells amazing. Sometimes I like to just lean over, press my face into his cheek, and breathe. It smells SO good I may switch him over to the full line just so he will continue smelling like this product.

It is also very moisturizing, like many men he grew a depression beard in 2020 while at home and hasn’t had one during our relationship because I never liked how scratchy it was so I figured if he was going to have one now, it was in my best interest to make sure it was taken care of.

Smells more like chocolate mint chip ice cream than tea trea. I’ve never believed Every Man Jack to be high grade products, but they’ve done a nosedive recently. I tried the first one years ago, admittedly because I like the packaging.

Now that’s been runied too. Just cheap looking labels instead of silkscreen. What’s really important are the contents. They say “Naturally Derived,” but I’m suspicious it’s not 100%, every thing I’ve tried this year has the same noxious chemical stench as most laundry detergent.

I have been growing a beard now for about 3 months, I have started using beard oils but wanted to see if I could find one in in Britain due to living in the UK. I came across this kit and thought would be brilliant to test out your products and sents which I would imagine why a lot of people would buy this kit other than a gift.

I would of give 5 stars if all the 7 sents were in the box instead of the unscented as everyone knows what unscented is. I bought the other sent so that I could try all your main ones and have now found a few that I enjoy using more than others.

This is the best beard butter on the market. All of their products are top notch and I can’t express that enough. I’ve tried a lot of products from a lot of companies over the past few years and Detroit’s ingredients actually soften my beard and keep the beard dandruff away.

This butter keeps the beard pretty sculpted in my opinion, but it’s still hella soft to the touch. 313 is the perfect scent, not overpowering, but smells great all day.

The new 313 Butter is an amazing scent and Detroit Grooming Co. once again has knocked it out of the stratosphere! Not an overwhelming or underwhelming scent as it is the perfect mix to perfection as always.

Beings how all the butters are made identically the same with all natural ingredients gives my beard a soft feel non greasy feel. I’ve paired with Black oil, Traverse City oil, Woodward oil, Orchard Lake oil and Corktown oil of course and all blend very very well.

Wife absolutely loves it which is always a bonus (but it’s my beard, not hers) and i’ve literally have almost gone through the 4oz. already but. that’s why i always buy 2 or 3 of Detroit Grooming Co.

Love the scent. Not greasy. Use the oil and butter regularly. The butter has a pleasingly light hold and emolsifies nicely. If a suggestion. Please, please make the scent stronger.

The beard oil is great. Used other brands for comparison and either you cannot get the great scents, or it just doesn’t feel like the same quality. I saw where individuals stated that some are too similar in how they smell and that the scent doesn’t last long.

Well, I would say 4-5 hours is a pretty good amount of time for it to last. Plus, if you get scents that have similar ingredients to it then they are going to smell similar. I think I have tried just about every scent that has been offered in the last couple of years, and I have yet to come across two that are truly similar.
