20 Best Essence For Dry Skin (2023 Updated)

I tried this SK-II facial treatment cleanser recently and this is my review for the product. The first thing I did was check the ingredients, and I was disappointed to see it contains propylene glycol, and parabens.

For a high end brand I really didn’t expect such low end ingredients and that was a huge letdown. This cleanser is a creamy consistency and a little bit of product is all that is needed. Once you add water to the cream it makes a nice and soft foaming action.

When I use the cleanser my skin felt soft and not overly dried out like some cleansers have left it feeling, however it doesn’t remove makeup very well. I would recommend removing makeup before moving onto this cleanser.

I didn’t have a large enough quantity to see if there was any long term effects in how my skin reacted to if and whether it’s anti-aging claims were effective, but my skin did feel soft and smooth while using this product and it glowed nicely.

Overall, I think this was a decent product and had no real problems with it, but due to the ingredients and quality I probably won’t be using this again.

I remember at the age of 18 years old, I purchased a bottle with my hard earned money because I heard so many great things about this product. At the time, I didn’t see very much difference in my skin when using this– very gimmicky, but it was a great alternative to use as a toner when I didn’t have any.

I stopped using after a year and purchased a bottle maybe every other year to help my skin from not getting to use to the product. Now after 10 years, I can honestly say this is one of those skincare products that I have never replaced and is always consistent in my skincare routine.

It leaves my skin plumped, bouncy, and youthful. It quickly sinks into the skin fast, locks in moisture, and a great prep for my other skincare. I don’t use this as a toner but as an essence like it is meant to be (after toner).

I noticed a difference in my skin when I don’t use this, I can’t really explain it, but something you must experience. Though now, I am 28 years old, people think I look 20 years old and I think its based off of me using this essence for years.

This product is something you must use pretty consistently to see some difference, definitely give it a try!.

i have been using this essence for 2 weeks now and my skin looks sooooo calm. My main issues are redness and this serum just soothes it down. I have extremely dry skin so i pair it up with hyaluronic acid and plant ceramide rich moisture cream.

best combo ever!! highly recommend this combo for anyone with dry skin as winter is approaching as well. i wouldnt use hyaluronic acid on dry days as it only works in humid weather but this essence + plant ceramide cream *chef’s kiss*.

I’m on the fence about this product. I have very dry skin and love hydration products. I don’t feel like this leaves my skin particularly hydrated. It’s even a little tacky. I’ll keep trying it because it’s a huge bottle (a plus) but I’m not super satisfied overall.

I use this product in conjunction with the niacinamide zinc serum and ceramide moisture cream. So far it’s just all ok.

I was having an issue with dry, flaky patches around my mouth in the morning upon waking and after taking a shower. I heard about the benefits of hyaluronic acid and essences overall and decided to give this a shot.

After only one week, I already noticed a positive change in my skin. The dry feeling and horrible dry skin around my mouth is gone. My skin feels plump and moisturized after patting the HA essence into my cleansed skin.

I plan to be a loyal Naturium HA Essence user for life.

This is a wonderful product. It is a silky, non-greasy moisturizer and the container dispenses perfectly. The container is absolutely airtight, so it lasts over time if you don’t use it every night. Also, so many containers leave a LOT still in the container when it won’t pump, shake, or squeeze product, but this one didn’t leave ANYthing left.

I know because I took it apart (not an easy task!) So you know you’re getting it all, and that’s important because this is not an inexpensive product. But it’s a wonderful product. I can’t comment on it’s rejuvenation effectiveness, because I use other products most of the time.

But sometimes I’m just too tired to do my normal routine, and I can cleanse and apply this Murad product and be perfectly happy with its feel and moisturizing properties.

Works wonders. It does exactly what it’s supposed to do. I feel fresh and my skin is clear and glowing. Light application with no fragrance. Perfect for any skintypes and also sensitive skin! I’ll start off by saying that I have super sensitive skin with Rosacea. I bought this in-store after reading the ingredients and raving reviews online. I tried it on the back of my hand in the store and loved how soft it felt, so the effectiveness combined with the decent ingredients list were something I was willing to spend almost 80$ on.

It also didn’t really have a scent which was another bonus for me. Once I got home and looked at the ingredients list on the box. I was perplexed to find out that the website fails to mention that this product contains both Parfum and Linalool.

two commonly-known allergens. A product that is dermatologist-developed and claims to be safe for sensitive skin? I’ve worked as a nurse in dermatology and these two ingredients are “no-no’s”. As much as I am disappointed in the fact that this dermatologist-developed product has FRAGRANCE in it, I am even more disappointed with Ulta for failing to mention it in the ingredients list.

Two stars for the softness it gave to my hand while trying it in store. Returning!!.

I have dry skin. There, I said it. I take great care of it, but it’s dry on the cheeks so I have to really be on my game when it comes to skincare to be sure to give my skin what it needs in order to stay hydrated, but not too much that it becomes oily in the T-Zone area.

I was new to TATA HARPER so I did a fair amount of research into the brand, and I was very impressed with the ingredients that went into this product prior to purchasing it. After the first couple of uses (twice daily), I really felt that my skin was very soft and I appreciated the softness to the areas I was most concerned about; which was my main goal.

I also was glad that it was softened so that when I was continuing with my skin care regimen my other products went on smoothly and there wasn’t any kind of pilling or other issues that can sometimes occur when one introduces a new product into the “line up.

” I have purchased additional TATA HARPER skin care products, and now I have a complete skin care regimen to keep my skin happy and soft from day to evening and it all started with one product that I chose to try.

Do try this product, you won’t be sorry, and you will find that TATA’s other products will lead your skin on a very happy journey to not only wellness but a better appearance and a feeling of overall satisfaction in the way you look! Isn’t that what we all want in the end for our skin and ourselves?.

In the past couple of months, I have fallen in love with Tata H. I honestly wasn’t expecting much from this Essence and initially had a very hard time justifying $102 for “rose water” and thought, if it’s nothing special, I can just refill the lovely glass bottle with an inexpensive rosewater.

BUT, this is essence is SO much more than that. It is incredibly hydrating and as will most Tata Harper products, the scent is a refreshing dream after my morning cleanse. After my skincare routine, I apply the Dior Dreamskin cushion SPF which has a dew of its own, but spraying this Essence on top makes it look like I just had a facial; so fresh faced.

I absolutely adore this product. I’ve had the 125ml bottle for nearly 2 months and have only used 1/3, so it lasts a bit. I only use in the morning, but twice as the first step and last step. Rather than full pump presses, I do several shorter bursts to saturate my face.

My only suggestion aside from stopping the price increases is to PLEASE make a sustainable refill. I also wanted to mention, that in the past both rose and lavender have irritated my skin and I’ve avoided.

Tata’s products do not irritate my skin at all. I just adore them.

Skin type- I am in my mid 20s and have normal-dry skin, though I feel certain this lightweight, hydrating mist would work for any combination of skin types. Use #1 – I use the Hydrating Floral Essence as a toner in my AM and PM skincare routine, as well as throughout the day for a little refresh + reset.

After washing my face with Tata’s Regenerating Cleanser, I gently pat dry and apply 3 spritz of the Hydrating Floral Essence, quickly followed by 1 pump of Tata’s Resurfacing Serum (mixed with 2-3 drops of Maya Chia’s super chia luxe oil for the best serum ever!!!).

The Hydrating Floral Essence really allows the serums to soak into my skin, and I can definitely really tell a difference in how my skin looks, but especially feels, if I skip this step in my routine.

Use #2 – I also love using the Hydrating Floral Essence for a midday reset, after getting a little sweaty, and/or when traveling. It smells lovely and instantly gives me a bit of hydration, which is just as appreciated in the summer as it is winter.

Aesthetics – as always, the packaging is lovely. I have purchased both the full and travel size (namely just to be able to keep the lovely little bottle in my purse), although pro tip- now I only buy the full size and refill my travel size as needed 😉 enjoy!!!.

Typically fond of cosrx products, and this one is also pretty nice. Its a sticky product, so it does feel a bit weird on the face. But once you let it settle it works nicely in moisturizing. There’s quite a lot of product, so it will probably last a while.

Personally, I’ve given up on using it and still have about half a bottle left because I couldn’t really see that big of a benefit/difference after and while using it. Didn’t find it a need to have it in my routine so I gave up.

Would recommend to use if you don’t have a good moisturizer yet, and need something to rehydrate your skin! I have sensitive skin and combination acne prone skin, but I didn’t get any reactions and stuff so thats good.

I’m currently on Benzyl Peroxide (Epiduo) as prescribed by the doctors and using this Essence alongside it and it has almost completely cleared my acne. I suffered with cysts and lots of really red spots and this has honestly transformed my skin.

I’ve been able to leave the house without any make up on. How I use it: at night after double cleansing, I do not dry my skin, I spray toner and gently tap my face, whilst still damp I gently apply the essence (do not rub) and then tap my skin gently.

After which I gently apply Cosrx oil-free moisturiser. 2 mins later I apply Benzyl Peroxide (Epiduo) in my acne prone areas (not using a lot and making sure it’s completely absorbed). I leave on for about 3 mins to absorb.

Then I apply more Cosrx oil-free moisturiser on the areas I have applied the Epiduo gel. My skin has never looked so clear.

This is holy grail for me. I was debating on whether I needed an essence as part of my skincare routine for the longest time, but reading reviews on this product sold me and I’m so glad I took the plunge.

There is no beating around the bush on this one: it’s PRICEY. It is. It’s a major splurge. I died a little when I bought it. But it lasts forever (you don’t need to use much each time) and it is supposed to make your other skin products penetrate deeper and work more effectively.

In my opinion, it does do that, and it leaves my skin feeling balanced and soft, so it is worth the splurge for me. I have tried other essences and there is no comparison for me, this is the hands down winner.

I recommend trying it in a travel size as part of a set or getting a sample in store if you want to try it out before making the plunge (this is what I did and I was sold as soon as I tried it out). WHY IT’S WORTH IT: – I actually saw results within days of using this product; my serums absorbed better, my skin stayed hydrated, and my face felt softer and more supple – Weirdly, this helped with my acne and skin texture? It made my face feel nourished and moisturized, more so than just my moisturizer or moisturizer + face oil alone, and my skin looked more clear.

This was what made me fall in love with it because my skin is super reactive, sensitive, and sometimes with a lot of texture and acne. – One bottle lasts you a very long time! Just a little splash each time you use is enough – It travels well; the lid screws on tightly and it doesn’t leak when packed in luggage HOW TO USE: – After cleansing your face, splash a few drops into clean hands and gently pat (don’t rub!) on your bare, dry face.

I use a couple extra drops on any super dry areas (between my eyebrows, my nose, around mouth etc. ) – Allow product to soak in, then continue with your usual skincare routine (serum and moisturizer, sunscreen if daytime, etc) – Repeat morning and evening, or whenever you usually cleanse for your face.

Younger Male here with combo to dry skin. Tatcha was the first brand to provide a serious improvement to my skin appearance and texture. This product is in fact not a moisturizer and will not leave ur skin feeling hydrated for hours after, you MUST use a moisturizer after.

However, The Essence is like a super booster for all your skincare products. After washing I pour a few drops into my palms and press gently onto my face, I let it saturate my pores for about 30 seconds to set before applying more products.

I recommend a Vitamin C serum and a form of Retinol and finish with a moisturizer and SPF during the day. Every product I apply after using the Essence works so much better and I can tell is going deeper into my skin.

My redness and discoloration is completely gone, I use the Tatcha Silk Cream as my moisturizer and it almost doubled the results as my skin feels 10x more hydrated and soft than when I was using the moisturizer on its own.

I would definitely recommended trying the smaller bottle first if your a new buyer and follow with the rest of your products. I will say I’m glad that this works with other brands and is not a gimmick to buy exclusively from Tatcha as they are not the most affordable.

Yes the price is quite high but one bottle of this lasts me a long time. I’m on my 4th bottle of this after discovering it a few years ago. Works extremely well and the ingredient list is clean and short.

Pros: Creamy essence so hydrating for dry skin. Has no fragrance and overall, ingredients are minimal and don’t seem to be irritating for my dry sensitive skin! This really does help prep your skin for whatever skincare you’re layering on top.

It tones and hydrates your skin and makes it feel softer. I also like using this at night on a Shiseido cotton pad to double cleanse my face to get rid of any excess dirt or impurities. Cons: Price point—I get it, it’s Tatcha so it’s going to be expensive.

Packaging—I know they changed it but honestly nothing seems that different to justify the price increase—I wish they would make this with a pump instead because the pouring method can be a little tricky sometimes.

I will continue repurchasing this. This is the only Tatcha product that I really adore and consistently use in my skincare routine. I hope Tatcha extends this line with more products—would love to see this in a moisturizer, sunscreen, cleanser, and even eye cream! Tatcha—please stop putting fragrance and alcohol in your products—I’ve had really bad reactions to a bunch of their products due to those specific type of ingredients… that’s why I love this particular essence so much — it’s gentle, non-irritating and calming for my skin! Tatcha’s website had a jumbo size that was limited edition and unfortunately I missed out on it!! I hope Sephora brings back the jumbo size someday :(.

Get ready for a long detailed review I have to explain lol 😂. So Im the girl who shops for makeup and or skin care ( mostly makeup lol ) at Ulta online or in store every once in a while because I don’t really have the money to do so but when I see there’s 21 days of beauty going on most of the time ( not every time unfortunately 😒😢🥺😭 ) buy 1-4 things 1-3 of the days.

The 21 days sale last spring time I got this peach & lily wild dew treatment essence. ( little side note about my skin —> I didn’t have the worst skin ever but I always had some pimples / white heads & black heads on my face and anywhere between 1-5 on my neck and jawline mind you most of them hurt and were painful especially on my neck and jawline 😢 and up until a few years ago I never got pimples in that area ) and of course I’ve tried a lot of products.

cleansers/ scrubs / spot treatment gels or creams / moisturizers / all different kinds of masks / healing ointments / different treatments and so on and so forth I think the only things I didn’t try were oral meds and prescribed meds pills and creams of any sort.

And the only things that worked some what were the exfolikate scrub that my friend got in a boxy charm and gave to me because she didn’t use skin care stuff and then cureology and I only got the small free month trial because it’s expensive and again I can’t afford to be buying makeup and skin care all the time so that sucked and also after I ran out of the Kate Somerville scrub and the small free trial cureology treatment cream and moisturizer I would break out again and also the scrub and the treatment would never clear my skin up 90% to 99%.

But this peach & lily wild dew treatment has cleared my skin up immensely and that’s so crazy to me because I haven’t had clear skin like this since I was a kid before I hit puberty. Now my Skin is pretty clear besides scars and some dark spots and a pimple here and there like right now I think I have 2 pimples and they aren’t bad and don’t hurt and they clear up so fast and the ones on my jawline and neck are gone besides some scaring and or dark spots.

And then I obviously have black heads but honestly i would prefer black heads over big painful red or white pimples all over my face I would take black heads anyway lol 😂. But my opinion is that this is what I think cleared my face up.

This is honestly another amazing snail mucin formula from cosRX and I will be purchasing again BUT it’s not for every routine. If you already use their other snail products, it’s kind of useless as the other mucin products are already packed with mucin.

If you’re using the other products it’s redundant and I would skip out on this one. I will say though, that through skin changes I’ve found this is a perfect replacement or alternative to Hyaluronic acid serums.

When I first started using this I was already using the snail mucin moisturizer, but I just started transitioning (ftm) and my skin changed from super sensitive and dry to greasy and acne prone but not as sensitive.

The snail mucin moisturizer (which I’ve been swearing by for a year now) just doesn’t work for my skin anymore, its sad but it happens when your body changes, not the products fault. So I switched back to an old fave from the ordinary (HA factors) which works for my skin better now than it used to, but I still needed some kind of moisture boost but as the ordinary moisturizer already has hyaluronic acid I didn’t want to also use an HA serum as too much HA can cause irritation in the long run.

This essence is a perfect substitute for HA serums! I find it even better than HA serums and I’ve used like 5 different HA serums at this point. So if you need an extra moisture boost in your routine without it being too heavy, have an allergy or sensitivity to HA, or just want to try out snail mucin products, this is a great product! Bottom line: it’s not for every routine, but if it makes sense in yours, its great! It does exactly what my snail mucin moisturizer did and gives the same effect! (Glowy skin, longer lasting hydration, minimized fine lines, doesn’t clog pores at all).

It’s basically just a powerful moister boost in your routine, but a really good one. (Product is honestly 5 stars but just because it’s not really worth it for most people’s routines I took a star off).

Ooooeeee. this has become a holy grail item for me. The snail mucin alongside the sodium hyaluronate works wonders to smooth and protect. But y’all. Y’ALL! You have to use it correctly or it’s a dud.

I don’t understand why more manufacturers of HA-based products (sodium hyaluronate in this case) don’t stress that it MUST be layered under something occlusive. And while we’re on that topic, if you’re using oils either as a cleanser or something you think is moisturizing your skin, if the oil comes before another product, the oil is preventing its benefits from penetrating your skin.

Since oils have larger molecules, they sit on top and penetrate less effectively than moisturizers with smaller molecules, like serums and cream-based moisturizers. SO that little lesson is the caveat with this product.

Layer it in the right order without any oil in the game beforehand, at least. Rinse any oil residue off your face, then layer it either on clean skin or over a thinner product, like toner and/or a vitamin C active during the day, then put something occlusive over it – a serum or a moisturizer.

If you’re dead-set on an oil, it must come at the very end of your routine or you’re hijacking literally every other item in your arsenal. Back to this product: This order allows the ingredients to do with they’re supposed to do, which is pull water to the surface of the skin and keep it there and smooth the skin with the properties of snail mucin.

That’s the plumping effect. If you don’t lock it in, those water-searching molecules in HA (sodium hyaluronate here) are going to go looking for water in the air, which can create a drying effect (known as transepidermal water loss).

Is it sticky for a couple beats? Yes. But give it a minute or two and it’s dry enough so that your next layer(s) of serum and/or moisturizer won’t turn to gravy and will offer a nice canvas for either makeup or pillow time.

I use this product during the day and at night. BTW, I have combo skin and I’m 50. Skincare is more than a hobby for me.

⚜️ COSRX Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence – 100ml ⚜️ At first I was a little skeptical but I was pleasantly surprised. The consistency is a little sticky but it absorbs nicely and doesn’t stay sticky on the face.

⚜️ It takes a small while to see a difference, maybe 2-3 weeks. I used it consistently, morning and night, for three weeks before I started seeing results. But the results are so worth the wait! ⚜️ Be prepared for your skin to possibly purge.

This is what I experienced. Nothing too extreme but again, the results are worth it! ⚜️ I would say there is enough product in the 100ml bottle for about 3 months use. I only need about 2 pumps to cover my whole face.

I am not exaggerating when I say this product changed my life. After stopping topical steroid use I triggered either a bout of rosacea or perioral dermatitis that traveled all across my face. Before this product I was using a prescription topical treatment that dried my skin out.

My face was red, scaly and painful. I purchased this product after seeing it talked about on tiktok. My acne prone skin is so sensitive that I can’t easily introduce anything into my routine without causing cystic acne breakouts or redness.

But this product absolutely changed and rescued my skin. I apply it two times a day, the best is after a shower while your skin is still wet and before your moisturizer. I would add since snail mucin naturally contains contains hyaluronic acid this performs much better with a moisturizer on top to ensure water is being brought to the skin instead of moisture being pulled out of the skin.

It’s been a about 2 weeks since I’ve been using this lotion. I am amazed at the results from this product. I have suffered with rosacea for many years now, My skin sometimes stings and feels irritated at the best of times.

I’ve had this product in my cabinet for almost a year and I do love it for myself, but I was most impressed when my newborn son ended up with a terrible case of cradle cap and this oil completely cured him within 48 hours.

I had tried every remedy imaginable and it would keep returning, but one night I put a few drops of the Hydrating Essence on his head and gently combed it through his hair and scalp, and within 2 days his scalp was 100% smooth and free of dead skin/flakes.

It’s an incredibly gentle product that offers superhero level moisturizing benefits and now I’m just trying to find more ways to use it!! :).

Wow! I really love Hydrating Essence. I love how my face feels after I massage in. My face has a healthy glow and lines are minimized. I know it’s temporary but since I’ve been using the product (about 2 weeks) my skin is definitely more hydrated and texture seems softer too.

This is a really hydrating beneficial spray. I was looking for a essence and expected the ones you tap into your hand in my search. However I like that this is in a spray bottle you waste less and the spray is a fine mist that works seamlessly to deliver a 360 coverage.

The smell is like subtle fruity loops and goes away. I have seen hydration benefits as well as skin discoloration and texture improvements. I use about 4-5x a week and I still have plenty in the bottle.

Whenever I use the mint blue Maya Chia mask I use this after and follow with tamanu oil to keep it simple and soothing. I currently have dry silk skin and this combo has greatly helped.

Everything about this toner is awesome! From the beautifully soft, light + loving mist (seriously, the best misting spray nozzle on the market!), to its amazing scent, and the absolutely nourishing +hydrating qualities.

I love using this toner! I’ve used MANY toners, and if the spray nozzle is off, it totally affects the entire toner/misting experience! No one likes a hard punching spray in the face, or an overly liquid saturated face.

The smell of this mist is dominated by neroli and it’s divine. I see others talk about the pump delivering a beautiful mist, and while I agree, mine has spots where it seems clogged or something because after a couple weeks of use there are gaps in my mist.

Regardless, it is still very fine and feels wonderful. Love using this before the rest of my skincare routine and often spray again when I’m done because the smell lingers and I love it.
