Fascinating Idea. Does not work very well, though. I have pulled a few small trees with it, but it is difficult to use and slips off the tree most of the time. The last effort, it slipped off 8 times before I decided to use a chain, which worked the first time.

Using a log chain wrapped around, over, then under, and back to the lead, grips and pulls every time. Rarely slips off. I wish I had my money back on this sucker. I have used it over a two day period, and it looks a hundred years old.

It will do what is stated it can do. I connected a log chain to the bush grubber an pulled trees about 2-2. 5 in diameter with my truck, felt no resistance. Pulled every tree I connected it to. Was so easy I thought my chain had come disconnected.

Tip. Pulling the grabber apart is tough. Learned set the ring end down on ground near the tree and push against the two pronged parts toward the ground then place on the tree trunk. I’m a girl and it was easy as pie.

I have lots of scotchbroom on my property and spraying doesn’t work. This tool is easier too use than a strap and results in less time on your knees. I can get more done in less time. It is heavy, but the advantages outweigh that one negative.

I like this tool and will show it to my friends so they can get one for themselves.

It wouldn’t pull up grass had I tried that. Big, heavy-thought it was perfect. then I hooked it to a small root to pull up, all it left was “teeth” marks. Ok, on to a smaller stump/root. still nothing.

so beyond disappointed. I returned it and that wasn’t an easy task either! But the store was helpful and finally I got my $113. 00 back. I left with cash but still carry the disappointment, I take pride in my property and this was worthless!!.

It is very well built, and I tried it on a few trees. I had trouble with the bark being pulled off. I found it easier to just put the log chain around the tree twice. I will probably try using it again and might like it, but if I knew what I do now, I would not have bought it, or would have bought the smaller size.

I think a smaller one for smaller trees would be good. Log chains slip off of smaller trees. This one is too big to use on smaller trees. I cannot complain about the price as the price is reasonable.

I use it for about a week. A smaller trees are better with a side-by-side and also if you take a hammer and you tap the brush grubber before use on small trees it gives you better grip. I specially like that I can use it on my big bucket tractor.

Overall this is an amazing product.

As a Landscaper by trade I have used other Sickles to remove unwanted growth. This one is by far superior to all others. The blade curve, the sharpness, the handle, the weight and the balance is perfect.

You will not be disappointed !!!.

Well balanced. Easy to handle. Blade is very sharp. Handle made of some kind of non-slip material, and the knob at the end of the handle facilitates a pulling motion when cutting vines and thick grass.

I’ve had the Shrub Grubber for a little over a week, but that’s longer than I’ve had my John Deere 1025R tractor. I had a couple of projects lined up when I got the tractor home; one of which was to remove a persistent Mimosa tree that was growing against the slab under my workshop.

I’ve tried cutting it and killing it with chemicals, but neither worked. The Shrub Grubber did. It took a couple of tries because of a wet, muddy yard, but using 4WD and the differential lock, the roots slowly released their grip and I pulled out major roots that spanned 10′-12′! I then wrapped the Shrub grubber around it and some fallen branches of other trees and pulled them all out to brush pile.

It’s already paid for itself in my opinion.

I bought both the light and medium duty drill brushes. THeir use goes way beyond just in my car. I’ve used them to clean carpets all over my apartment, my sofa, and scrubbing my bathroom tub. Highly recommended!.

So far works great! I had to weld on handles to open them as I didn’t have the hand strength. really small trees are a challenge as they won’t fit in the jaws, but everything up to even some 3″ dia trees came out easily.

A great help as you can do multiple trees without getting on and off the tractor. Money well spent.

Pretty Good. Cannot do the small stuff with out a lot of fighting on my part. Does not always grab the big stuff on the first try. Overall not bad, but it requires a lot of fiddling to get it to grab and stay on long enough to pull out the tree or root being pulled.

Great tool! I originally got the brush to clean the driveway and bricks around the house. Once I got started, I tried it on the putting green I was planning to remove because of its age and the moss that was too established.

This brush was beyond amazing when it came to removing all of the things growing out of the Astro turf on the putting green. It now looks almost as good as when I had it installed 15 years ago. Then when my neighbor came over, we decided to see how it would do on thatching the lawn and it did a beautiful job.

It does have a lot of resistance when you get on the grass and the turf, so I just placed the handle on my hip and walked with it. The brush is heavy because you need the weight to keep the head down and into the work for it to give you the results you want.

I was afraid that the cost of this brush would make me a fool. Instead, I was blown away at how well it worked. It finishes infill and blade orientation on artificial turf wonderfully. It cleans sidewalks much more thoroughly than a blower.

It accomplishes in seconds what would take minutes with a push room. Sweeping up is a joy. For an existing turf, it works AMAZING at doing semi-annual cleaning. It easily swept and piled loose decomposed granite, twigs, leaf stems, and other just tiny debris the blower can’t get to.

If you are spending hours a month with your rubber rake, give this a go to give you a fresh start. Then you can do touch up cleaning with your rake. The only advice is to start on a hidden spot of the turf so you can get a feel for the power and weight.

You don’t want it to dig deep into your turf but also not skip across it. The cons are the weight but once you see the gearbox and the bristle size, you’ll understand why. When on concrete, you can get it to speed just above the surface.

After it’s going fast enough to not stall, you can drop it and push it along the surface so you aren’t holding all the weight.

I bought it to move rocks off the grass and back on the driveway after a winter of plowing but it doesn’t work at all. The unit is so heavy and awkward that it fights you. I could not use it after 3 passes as my arms wore out.

Not only that but it dethatches the grass but does not move the rocks. It can only be used on smooth surfaces. It definitely needs some modification or something as I can’t use it. I have multiple attachments and they have been good for the most part.

The trimmer was a little heavy but manageable. This one is not.

Purchased almost a year ago. use it almost weekly to clean a 39 ft. with a large sun deck. after a couple of weeks away from the boat and the rain from the tropical storm the deck was quite dirty with quite a bit of alge on the boat.

My wife went down with me to clean the boat. I had another brush that was just a bit smaller and thought that she could handle it better, then she saw what i was using. promptly switched with her. she had her side done in half the time than using the other brush, and cleaner to.

This brush is the best I have used. A great ergonomic design for hand scrubbing, or easily attaches to a Shurhold extension pole. It works well on or teak decks too.

I got a new bottom job with white Teflon and was told that it would be easy to clean. Turned out that it was a real job keeping the waterline clean. I got the Hammerhead brush and using only lake water can easily scrub the junk that accumulates along the waterline.

The brush is just the right size and stiffness to get the job done. It seems a little stiff for the hardtop and hull but also works well on non-skid.

Perfect for the cost to leave your yard well groomed. The only con is the instructions on how to assemble some of the tools. My husband is a suburb with mechanical work but fussed the whole assembly.

Used for cutting cow grass co4.it was good and gives long life in usage using almost 3months with daily usage of 20to 30 minutes. It Cutts paddy also.

I have been busy hacking away at a lot of brush and branches, saplings, tall weeds and trees at my property trying to make i presentable and a useable space. I got this to use for the small things that need to be removed so I can get in closer to the trees to cut off dead limbs, branches that are not growing properly etc.

As well to get rid of all the prickly ash that seem to be everywhere. This brush axe takes a little getting used to due to the not an axe head on it, more like a machete. Also the curved blade takes a bit to adjust to, rather than hacking away like a hatchet would do, you have to pick the spot and in my case kind of hack and slice with it.

I’m sure that with more use I’ll get better with it. The handle is comfortable, I wear a pair of cut resistant gloves with a rubbery palm and fingers so it makes the grip easy and non slip. A “real sheathe” would be better than the plastic case that comes with it.

The plastic case is good for hanging it up on the garage or your shop. It’s handy to use if you have stuff that needs to be removed.

The design is good, would have paid double if quality was there. *NOT SHARPENED FROM NEW*. The angle is ground but the edge is intensionally removed. I sharpened it with a Rada disc sharpener which worked good.

Handle is slippery, put hockey tape on it. Function is good with hook on the end, I wish there was a little more steel at the hook end to get more of a chop. Good for 1” and smaller branches.

i put this little brush axe in my fishing bag and it goes with me every time. i have created my own paths to nicer fishing holes. i have cut through some pretty tough brush and heavy branches without issue.

I also bought the fiskars blade sharpener to keep it ready for anything. I just wish that it came with a sheath because I have to slip it into my bag that has a hydration bladder pocket works fine but a sheath would be better.

I definitely recommend it to anyone for outdoors adventure or back yard chores.

What I like most about this 4 stroke unit is the reduction of noise and exhaust fumes. Not having to listen to a screaming 2-cycle engine and breathing oily exhaust makes brush work less nasty. It cuts through grass and brush nicely.

The only improvement that I can see, thus far, is the clip system for attaching the harness to the cutter. Ergonomically, it is not an easy task to try to hold the machine with one hand while clipping onto the harness with the other.

The attach point on the shaft moves around while the user attempts to attach a swiveling clip with the other. The quick release system makes detaching easy. If an engineer/designer can come up with a similar way to attach the harness it would make using this machine a bit less frustrating.

Folks, it’s a Honda. That should get you well on your way to buying. I’ve owned this unit before. Donated it when I thought due to age I could no longer trim my acreage. This new one brings back an old friend.

4 cycle beats incredibly loud, stinky two cycle products any day. No surprises with the previous one. Performed as expected. Just care for this unit as Honda recommends and it should serve you well. Put off due to price? You get what you pay for.

I purchased this trimmer with the brush-cutting function in mind. The trimmer is easy to set up,and change over from weed trimmer to brush cutter is fairly easy. While strapped on, it is awkward to pull the starter cord but literally a flip of the wrist and forearm, and it starts on the first pull.

The trimmer with a blade is powerful, but the blade dulls pretty easily. I will be looking for a replacement blade soon. The Trimmer head, as others have mentioned is pretty useless. I will be ordering the bump feed head as well.

The standard trimmer head is the only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars. I love the fact that this trimmer is not 2-cycle. Just like the other Hondas that I own, it is top quality, and I would buy it again.

I was very hesitant after reading several reviews that it wouldn’t crank the second time and other issues. I am a Husqvarna fan and don’t mind paying good money, but I expect good service in return. Got it put together and fired it up.

Even now, it does not fire up on the first pull. Takes about 5 on average. I can live with that, though. More than enough power and has cranked over a dozen times in the short time that I have had it.

I am very pleased. I do join in with others who have said that the instructions are an absolute joke. Especially how to put the blade on. Husqvarna could do better than that. I am very pleased with with the 336FR and have opened up a lot of overgrown brush and tree with it to run a fence.

I was searching for a good heavy duty machine to clear where i was putting new fence. I looked at several. Stihl, echo, and husqvarna, all seemed to be around the same price for what i was wanting. I went through several smaller lower priced trimmers and finally decided to purchase a quality trimmer.

This did a great job for me getting rid of the taller stuff before taking the tractor and bush hog through. This machine will last a long time and hopefully the last i will need to purchase.

As promised, this heavy beast of a machine has tons of power! I also haven’t had the dreaded burned up engine problem so famous in reviews either. (Yet, knock on wood. ) But be warned: changing cutting tools has proven to be a problem.

I can’t currently get the string trimmer off, and thus can’t put the serious tools on to use what this burly little cutter was really made for. Tractor Supply was the only vendor that had these at the time.

I was having difficulty locating a STIHL FS-KM KombiTool Brushcutter all my usual suppliers had lengthy waiting lists. I found ‘Garden Machinery Online’ via the Internet. Although they had a waiting time, it was not as long as other suppliers, with the added bonus that the price was cheaper than that quoted by others.

Well balanced and does a great job of cutting tough growth and you can’t even feel its cutting. Great piece of kit.

As expected the strimmer is well made and I am sure it will give good service. I couldn’t understand what the circular plastic ring was for, it came in two halves but there was nothing in the instructions about it.
