The environment for betta fish is typically a freshwater aquarium with a filtered system. The tank should be at least 5 gallons and have a lid to prevent the betta from jumping out. The water should be kept at a temperature between 75 and 82 degrees Fahrenheit.
The tank should also have plenty of hiding places and plants for the betta to explore.
20 Best Environment For Betta Fish

Equipped with a Tetra 3i filter to keep your tank clean and provide a perfect environment for small tropical fish The tank features an LED light to highlight your fish The lid features a convenient feeding hole For small tropical fish, goldfish, or a betta 10 inch D x 10 inch W x 10.
The tank is plastic, as is the case with a lot of tanks, but do not be fooled by it. It will not break with the weight of the water as several people are afraid of. My 3 gallon tank is holding up just fine, I was even able to pick it up (from the base, of course).
The light works great, and the lid is easily removed, but if you have a cat (as I do), you might want to tape two sides of it just so it’s not removed easily. It has a feeding hole and space in the back for the heater and a filter to hang from while still allowing the lid to fully close.
The ONLY negative thing was the filter. Aside from being too strong for a betta (in my mind), the pump vibrates A LOT and makes a terrible rumbling noise when laid against furniture. You might get lucky wrapping it up in tube socks or some other item, but that was the only nuisance I found with the product overall.
The filter pump is the only thing that stopped me from giving this product 5 stars. But I am happy w/ it and do recommend it.
well, the sale went ok and i got it sooner than was thinking i would; 5 stars for that but what i dont like about it is as a women have already pointed out the filter it comes with is cheap and not all that good but it does work to a point.
the tank is ok it hold up good the lid for it hm i dont really like all that well but it is easy to put on and take off. the lights that come with it are good all doe it can’t get all that wet but it works great; 5 stars for that.
the water pump for the filter work good i would give it a 5. stars.
Tank itself is really great! The filter that comes with the tank isnt all that good, I use the AZOO mignon 60, it fits perfectly in the back! The plastic is very durable and clear, also lighter than a regular glass tank! The plastic lid also lowers water evaporation and keeps fish from jumping out.

Mix and match with other plants and gravel to create a beautiful aquarium.
After taking this out to clean it, the dark green top coat (paint? Plastic?) started peeling and flaking off with just very gentle cleaning. I don’t dare put this back in the tank, because microplastics are bad for fish, and can get into intestines and gills.
If you bought one of these, you should check and remove it at the first sign that the coating is beginning to disintegrate. Might be a recent change to the product? Bought Fall 2020 at local competitor box pet store.
Otherwise, the leaf is very cute and realistic looking, secures very well, and is otherwise easy to clean. We used it to add some shade to parts of the tank without getting in the way of swimming. ZooMed, fix your product’s top layer and you’ll have a winning product!.
Caught my fish resting his tail on this today. Installed it a little underneath the filter so the current didn’t knock him off. I’ve been told they like to rest on these and then because they’re labyrinth fish they like to just kind of reach up a little bit to the surface to take a breath of air so be sure to install this close to the surface.
Anyway it adds a nice feature/visual element for the tank. The suction cup is strong and I haven’t had any problems with it staying on the tank wall.
I bought this about six months ago, and my fish loveeddd it while it lasted. The past two times I went to move it to change my fish’s water though the entire plastic coating on the suction disintegrated before my eyes.
The first time I thought maybe it was a fluke, so I cleaned it off well and put it back. The second time though, the little pieces of plastic coating (almost microfibre like) disintegrated in the water of my tank, which really concerned me because I’m sure that couldn’t be good for my fish at all.
This would be a great product if it wasn’t for the total faultiness of the coating on the suction. I wish I could recommend this product, but unfortunately the concern the coating caused is far too great.
The Umbra Fish Hotel is an award-winning modern home for your finned friends. Modeled after a contemporary condominium, this reinvented aquarium features a sleek white shell with assymetrical “windows.
” Individual units can be stacked to create a condo effect. Glass bowl is removable for cleaning.
This fish ‘bowl’ is so unique and was the perfect design for our grandson who loves to build our-of-the-norm structures. When he saw this he got so excited and said, ‘That’s MY fish bowl. Just how I would make it.
” He loves the different views to watch his fish the various ‘windows’ of this bowl offer. He received it as a Christmas gift and the uniqueness of it has not worn off like so many gifts can. He loves it and we are very please with the quality of this product.
A natural looking floating log for your pet betta to sleep play, breed, feed or blow a bubble nest in. Comes complete with top feeding hole. Reduces boredom from captivity. For use in minimum 2 gallon betta enclosure.
Product Type : Aquatics – Decorations/Miscellaneous. Dimensions: 3. 5″ L x 4. 75″ W x 5. 75″ H.
I’ve been having this log for almost a month now and I’ve had no issues at all with this product. The log itself was smooth with no sharp edges, and didn’t smell. I will note that if you have a filter or moving water, that you will probably need to do a DIY holder to keep the log in place.
Otherwise, it’d move around with the current. My betta loves to swim through this log and just stay inside it constantly. He even made a bubble nest in the log too! I don’t regret this purchase at all and keep in mind that each betta is different.
It definitely just looks like a big fake log floating in my fish’s tank but he loves it. I stuck it in his tank the other day and for the first little while he seemed annoyed by it and then for the next 24 hours he entirely ignored it.
But, once he finally braved a swim through it – he wouldn’t stop. He spent the next 30 minutes swimming in and out and in and out and in and out. Now I regularly look over and see him posing just like the fish in the photo – just chillin’ in his log.
I didn’t think anything could come close to his love for his hammock but this is for sure a close second. Sometimes I drop an extra food pellet in the top and he practically does a dance when he finds that his already fun log also has extra food in it (he can’t ever seem to get enough food).
My betta didn’t care for it at first. I have him in a 10 gallon tank with a filter. The filter kept moving the log around so he seemed scared of it. I took it out, sanded down a spot, and glued on a suction cup.
I’ve caught him in it twice now! He seems to be getting more comfortable with it. Likes to hide behind it too. It does flake off paint as others mentioned. I just washed it a few times to get it “safe”.
Zoo Med Floating Betta Log this patent pending mirror is designed to promote natural territorial behaviors and to provide an enriching activity that reduces boredom for bettas everywhere. Every time your betta sees himself in it, he will wiggle and move his fins, providing much needed exercise.
To use it, simply submerse the mirror in your bettas aquarium with the convenient floating ball, leave it in the aquarium for a maximum of five minutes and watch your pal hustle and interact with it.
Plus, its ready to use out of the package with no assembly or setup. Patent pending floating mirror promotes natural territorial behaviors in bettas. Provides an enriching activity that reduces boredom and supports healthy exercise.
Your betta will exercise? his fins as he sees himself in the mirror every time he swims by. Easy to use by simply submersing mirror in aquarium with a convenient floating ball to keep it in place. No assembly is needed and is designed to be used daily for short periods of time.
I was super excited when I saw this product, and was eagerly waiting to try it out; I’ve been very disappointed. I have been trying this mirror for over a week, and all it does is make my Betta mad at me.
The first time I put it in the tank, he swam right up to it, gills flared. When he saw his reflection, he went to his favorite hiding spot and would not come out for the rest of the day. Normally when I come into the room, he swims to the front of the tank to say hello, and show off a bit before I feed him.
He has not done this at all since I started trying the floating mirror. Whenever I place it in the tank, he moves to the farthest corner and refuses to move. Once the filter pushed the mirror right up against him and he didn’t even react.
I have since stopped trying, and luckily he is back to normal, though still acts suspicious of me. I think it’s a great idea, just didn’t work out for me, and I can’t really recommend it because of that reason.
3 stars for a great idea, but for my betta and me, it isn’t the right fit. I’ll keep it around to try with the next fish though.
I know that it might be cool to see your betta “wagging it’s fins” and “practicing natural territorial behaviours” but please just don’t get this. No matter how long you leave it in for, it will stress out your betta! If a random person just showed up in your house and just stood there looking at you, even if it was for five minutes, wouldn’t you freak out?? I know I would.
These kinds of ‘toys’ aren’t good for your male betta. If you plan to put your betta in a community tank after using this ‘toy,’ it might be hard to avoid fish fights due to their stress from the toy but also their mindset of “i have to be prepared at all times to protect myself!”.

Nice small window ledge sized aquarium. BUT. though I was very careful unpacking. the box is infront of me, on my desk, as a reminder to write this review today, it is poorly packed. I lifted the unit out of the sturdy box, knowing there was a divider but not how or where it was OR THAT THE DIVIDER IS GLASS.
As I lifted the aquarium out of the box, transfering to the table the box was on, the divider crashed to the floor as it wasn’t secured in any way but seemed at first to be a cover/top. Really bummed – though I will use it as a single unit I was still disappointed in this aspect.
BE CAREFUL. The box for shipping is great the orientation WITHIN the box is not clear and the GLASS divider is just loose.
This tank is great for Bettas, the tank is divided so 2 Bettas can not get to each other. I raise 100’s+ every year. They are kept in Solo cups, because they cannot be kept together. In their native land, they live in ditches, and puddles.
As long as they are wet, they are fine. Anyone who says that this tank is too small, doesn’t know what they are talking about. My show Bettas are kept in 2 gallon wall mounted tanks. The rest in cups.
This tank is a great addition. I’m using 5 of them now. For future show fish.
#ReceivedFreeProduct I love Beta fish, but we all know that two are not supposed to be in the same tank, but this allows you to have two. It has a glass panel that separates them. I love that it has a lit.
It helps the water to not evaporate so easily. It’s a small tank so it’s a nice size if you have a small space. I like the shape it is nice and sleek. It’s well made and sturdy. I love that you are also able to decorate each side differently and give them each their own style.
This aquaponic planter and fish habitat provides educational fun for your whole family! Grow your favorite indoor plant or herb on top, with a betta, gold, or any other small cold water fish in the bowl below.
It is a symbiotic environment where the waste generated by your fish serves as food for the plant, while the plant’s roots help to filter the water below. This piece measures 8. 25” H x 5. 88” W x 5.
The LED lights are powered by three AA batteries (not included) and can also be powered using a micro USB B Cable with AC adapter (not included) to plug the unit into any outlet. With plenty of versatility with lighting options and a unique style, this great half moon LED kit is perfect for your betta fish.
I love the size and shape of this tank. Its perfect for a desktop because the space it uses is very minimal. Its a great size for a Betta and the bowfront lets you see your fish really well. However, if you are considering the for the light feature, I would look elsewhere.
I’ve purchased three of these and each on I have gotten there is a shortage in the connection somewhere between battery and light. The lights dont stay on and flicker unless you are physically pressing down the ON switch.
I bought this a few months ago and am a bit less than satisfied. When I got home I realized that it was cracked at the top. It didn’t leak which is good, but it is a real eye soar. I noticed another crack in the corner a bit later.
My betta seems happy in this tank but it is kind of cheap material. I the price seems good but when I look back I wish I had spent a little more on a product with more quality.
I just bought this tank and my two betta fish love being right next to each other! I would recommend this tank other than a tank with a thin piece of plastic seperating the two fish. And if your fish (if you have multiple) don’t like each other no problem! You just move one tank further away from the other and I feel you choose to you can just put a price of paper or cardboard between the two tanks!.
Bought this about a month ago to travel with our Betta. She loved it and we didn’t have to pre-condition the water plus it was already room temperature as was her habitat water. So much easier than playing the guessing games adding chemicals to tap water.
Very convenient, affordable and I highly recommend to other Betta moms and dads out there!.
I usually use drops in tap water to do water changes, but every once in a while I like to use this for a no- fuss-I-need-to-do-a-change-now-not-in-an-hour option. This is also great for starting a new home for a beta (which was the reason for my recent purchase- RIP Roger but welcome to the family Arthur) I use the EZ Care Beta tank by Marina and a moss ball.
I have had Millie my half moon female for 3 years and she is healthy as can be. My other Beta was almost four before he passed. I do water changes every 2 days with a complete change every month.

Tetra Betta Safe, aquarium Water Conditioner For Bettas Tetra Betta Safe conditions tap water to make it safe for your bettas (Siamese fighting fish, or betta splendens) by neutralizing harmful chlorine, chloramines and heavy metals present in most municipal water supplies.
Condition water monthly to protect your bettas and reduce stress. Use 7 drops per gallon (2 drops per liter). Betta fish are best known for being small, colorful pets with big personalities. Male bettas in particular have an amazing variety of tail shapes, ranging from half-moon to spikey and crown-like.
Since bettas require minimal maintenance, they’re a great species for beginners. If you’re keeping bettas in a larger aquarium with filtration, be sure the intake and water outflow are gentle. If a single betta is kept in a bowl environment, filtration may not be practical, so complete water changes should be performed weekly.
Since 1951, Tetra has developed the world’s most comprehensive body of fish food knowledge, and fishkeeping enthusiasts have looked to the brand for products and solutions that add ease and beauty to their home.
Whether you’re an experienced hobbyist or just starting out, Tetra has everything you need?-from a large variety of quality fish food and innovative equipment to test kits and decor.
Shake well before using! Use 7 drops per gallon (2 drops/liter) or 1 capful (5 ml) for 10 gallons. Each raised mark on the side of the bottle equals 10 ml. Make sure the new water is the same temperature as old water to safeguard aquarium habitants. BettaSafe neutralizes harmful chlorine, chloramines and heavy metals in tap water and adds a protective slime coating. Can be used for all ornamental fish, not just Bettas.
Principal Ingredients: Sodium Thiosulfate, Chelating Compounds, Polyvinylpyrrolidones, Organic Hydrocolloids, Minerals.
Keep out of children.
Reviews From Real Customers
The big bottle. This is what you need to keep up with all your water changes. It really is safe. Ive doubled and trippled the recommended dose. With no issuse at all. Just add tap water in a bucket, put in your needed dose, wait one hour and your all set to add your new water to your tank.
Frequent partial water changes solves so many problems in your tank. This may not be the greatest water conditioner out there. But defenetly enough to get the job done.
I use this as a breeder box of sorts moving my fry into here when there’re big enough to eat and not be monitored, however, where I’ve moved the water and alkalinity is horrible and I wanted my all of my tanks to be safe so I started with this one; what happened next was – well.
as you can see you can’t even tell what’s inside the tank! My EXACT steps were: 1. Pump in tank while I went over directions and then googled how best to administer from the community (as in the tank/bucket/outside bowl) when I’d emptied 20% I began filling buckets as usual and since there was an ever divided decision as to how best to add the product I added it directly to the tank (I did round up to 15 gallons as it’s every 5 gal measurements and this is an almost 15 gal tank) slowly pouring this and my stress coat in at very small increments where the filter waterfall is 2.
Retrieved my first now full bucket and did the same slow pour of the water in then the next two until the tank was full 3. Switched out one piece of bottom filter floss and 3 crunchy/done alder cones with new ones and whilst adding in the other 3 over the next day and a half to observe the coloration and tannin leeching I saw that it did darken much quicker then I’d prefer; so I did a 10% change with just base conditioner as I would for any strong driftwood or clay.
Then I went to bed. when I woke up today, this was the result and THE ONLY thing I did differently which I would not normally was add the “balancer”. I keep my tannins fresh always with a water change and always over a days time and I always use stress coat as my conditioner.
Soooo I’m really not wanting to test my parameters as I’m sure I’ll be beyond angery but this is quite enough, I figured I’d write it while I could be objective before I go dive in to fix this mess and not after I’m up to my eyeballs in black dyed baby bettas! Thanks Tetra, the first time I’ve ever used anything from you – and the last! Raven.
Underwater Treasure Aqua One Betta Duo Aquarium, 5. 3-gal; Bring two betta fish under one roof with the Aqua One Betta Duo Aquarium by Underwater Treasure! Featuring separate compartments ideal for housing multiple bettas, this aquarium gives you the joy of multi-fish parenting while helping you keep these notoriously snippy fish away from one another.

I absolutely love chewy. I purchased this and within two days I had it! That’s pretty amazing for where I live. After doing lots of searching on glass tanks, I purchased this one. According to some of the questions answered the divider comes out of the center.
No it does not it is siliconed in. I am sure it could be cut out, but that chances damage to the tank. After tank set up the tank does look very nice. However the whole pump set up is an absolute nightmare.
The lack of directions and material supplied does not allow for the pump to be towards the bottom. I have checked my local hardware store and pet store. I live in a small town and the closest fish store is an hour and 20 minutes away.
So I went for the super pet store or the cheap home-improvement store. Neither of which had anything that I could use to set the pump up successfully. I was able to place an online order and in 3-5 days should arrive.
If you are using this for a betta it would definitely be best for your fish to stream the pump output across both sides even at the lowest the flow is too much for just one side of the tank. I absolutely love the design, it has a smooth and streamline appearance, I just wish something a little better could’ve been done for that pump.
Bought this, got it scaped and half full of water. Brand new and it leaks. Missing silicone in multiple corners. Light was awesome but tank was a joke. Customer service gave me option to fix myself and refund a percentage or return.
I opted to return. I’m not fixing something that is brand new and could void any warranty. Would have loved to put my Bettas in it. Oh well. Refund took a week from shipping and receiving. I put my Bettas in a divided ten gallon.
Would of liked to keep the light tho, it was really the nicest part of the kit.
This tank is made of real glass and has a great filter. I’ve purchased cheaper tanks for my children’s Betta fish in the past. It is well worth the extra money for this tank. The glass lid arrived broken but the seller quickly sent me a replacement for no extra charge.

Your betta will love this stylish home! Everything is included for new fish keepers including; Colourful gravel Decorative background with a stylish contemporary theme Betta Food & Betta Plus Conditioner.
This simple stylish design will blend in with your home’s style and create a serene environment for your betta.
I have two bettas that were sharing a 1. 5L bowl (with divider of course) until I was able to get these on sale. Their personality has come to life in these tanks. Plenty of room to swim around without cluttering up desk or shelf space.
I have both of them at work and the tanks are so easy to maintain it\’s not an issue. These get pretty heave though as they hold about 3L each so I wouldn\’t recommend wall mounting these unless you have a really solid place to screw it into.
The background can easily be changed with your own design if you use the included one as a template. These are such a decent size that I was actually able to add 2 small and 1 medium sized plants to each PLUS a mini castle (just big enough for them to hide inside – 4\” high by 2\” in diameter) PLUS the decorative stones (that come included with the tank).
They however do not seem to like the fish flakes that came with it so I ditched those. If your fish has proven himself to be a jumper then you will need to cover the top with something as the included lid only provides an inch wide rim all around (which is enough to ward off most jumpers).
The nice part about the hole in the lid is that you can buy those nice tall plants and have it sitting out the top as extra decoration. There are actually plants designed specifically for these tanks (the bases are shaped perfectly for sitting in the middle groove where the picture shows filled with gravel).
I do recommend picking up a leaf hammock though to allow your baby to chill close to the surface without much efford (they are made by zoomed).

Water Garden, Self-Cleaning Fish Tank That Grows Food, Mini Aquaponic Ecosystem Great Gardening Gift & Family ProjectWater Garden, Self-Cleaning Fish Tank That Grows Food, Mini Aquaponic Ecosystem (Great Gardening Gift & Family Project).
Love the concept but it needs a better filtration system. Without a good filter this water garden set requires a lot more work to maintain than it claims because the microgreens do not adequately keep the water clean on their own.
The seeds did sprout and grow quickly which was very impressive. But if not harvested plus a thorough cleaning of the pods within 2 weeks then the roots get moldy and rot, the water gets cloudy with sediment and fish poop building up at the bottom and the whole thing emits a foul odor.
I’ve raised fish in plain tanks without a filter with more success. Everything did look great with this water garden until my fish started dying due to all of the above. The surviving fish became sick and lethargic but as soon as I transferred them to another tank they fully recovered.
So as it, this system does work but requires a lot more cleaning and maintenance (including water changes and vacuuming poop sediment buildup) at least once every two weeks with the micro greens than even a plain tank with nothing.
The grow rocks are very time consuming to clean as they get terribly entangled with the roots. Tossing them and using fresh ones would be easier but a lot more expensive. I would be interested in trying other grow mediums to see if they give better results keeping the water cleaner and maintaining healthier sprouts.
But only grow rocks are given in this kit and not sure if I want to pay even more for another grow medium or a good filter. All being said, I still really enjoy my water garden, just saying it requires a lot more work or supplies than it claims.
I ordered this as a quarantine project and have a fish in my home office now that I’m on fulltime telework. I followed the instructions and the next day my first betta was dead. Emptied the tank, set it up and let the water sit for a day rather than dropping a new fish in instantly.
My second fish seemed much happier but died after a couple weeks. It looked like he hit his head on something because a scale was raised up above his eye. Emptied the tank again and let water run for a couple days.
This time went to a pet/aquarium store instead of a big box pet store. They told me straight up that they’ve heard nothing but bad things about the Back to Roots kit and had me buy test kits to make sure the water was right.
Now that I know the actual conditions to keep a betta alive, I’m having to do constant water changes, adding stuff to counteract the ammonia, and test for other chemicals to try and keep my betta alive and healthy.
The seeds they give do sprout quickly, but there is a bad smell that comes quickly from the grow rocks. This system just doesn’t live up to what they describe. I’m looking for plants that might survive once I’m done with all the seeds and hoping I can get the water set up to keep my fish happy.
Most likely I’ll upgrade to at least a 5 gallon tank which is what is recommended for a happy betta and ditch this system.
I started my system on 1/6/21 and have had trouble-free operation since. The only thing extra needed was a small water heater. It sits on my kitchen counter on a west-facing window, which is plenty of light for microgreens, even for the Pacific NW.
I have checked my tank water semi-regularly (for free at the local big-box pet store) and the water quality is always good – hence I have never changed the water, even though the recommendation is to change it every 6-8 weeks.
My betta seems happy and healthy. I add tap water conditioned with Top Fin “Betta Water Conditioner” as needed, and that’s it. Some green algae started growing on the tank sides, so I wiped in out with a plain magic eraser.
It stirred up about of silt and algae making the water cloudy, so I was kind of disappointed. But within 2 days of circulation, the tank water was clear and the microgreen roots had captured the suspended material.
I told myself it the betta lived more than 6 months, I would write a review, so here it is! You will love this product.

Reviews of the LED on this Koller Panaview from Amazon and other review sites state the LED lights will burn out due to the condensation. Mine burned out within 3 months. Been 6 months and still unable to rectify.
The clear shield protector that covers the LED strip isn’t sealed properly. The condensation will work its way up to the push button switch that is mounted on top of the tank. I won’t modify the tank lights to another system because I don’t want any electrical problems due to water condensation and electricity do not mix.
So far, I cannot locate the tank lid separately with the upgraded LED fix yet. I have read its out there but no luck yet.
Got this tank for my male Betta and he loves it. At first I thought the filter jets might make too strong of a current for him to comfortably swim in, but it comes with a snap on diverter that helps mix in more air and soften the water flow.
The LEDs are nice and bright with many options, but it’s a little annoying clicking through the sequence to get to the one you want. Also, the panoramic view is nice, but there are blind spots when viewing from certain angles.
However, the shape does make cleaning and maintenance much easier. My lid is a little wobbly, but nothing that affects it’s functionality. All-in-all an easy and quick setup that let me focus on the aquascaping for my Betta.
Its a nice clear , cute tank for starters. It has all or most of what you need except a heater. Only one small issue was the power cord receptical was not lined up and lose in hood so trying to plug connecter together had to be played with to connect it.
Minor for me but someone else , not sure. Suggestion. To find the little hole to plug in could of been labeled or made a different color so you could find it easier , other wise you will have to look close for it.

Had cloudy water in a recently cycled 10 gallon tank. Did water changes but was still cloudy. Yesterday, I vacuumed the gravel and did a 50% water change, and water was still cloudy. Picked this up last night, put in the specified 5ml, water was 90% clear this morning.
Dosed it again and now the water is crystal clear. Washed out the sponges with some aquarium water, and was shocked at how much dirt came out. For the negative reviews you see here, be advised that this product won’t work for bacterial blooms.
This is for cloudiness due to small particles that aren’t able to be caught by the filter. The product works by making those small particles attract each other and combine into larger particles that can be filtered out of the water.
If you can see the particles in the cloudy water, this will work. If your water just looks like someone spilled milk in it, you likely have a bloom, and this will NOT work for that issue, you have to kill the bacteria or just let nature run its course.
Was skeptical at first, having never tried a Clarifier before and reading the reviews on them. I must say I was surprised, I used it in a 10g and 29g. The 10g cleared right up. With the 29g I used it and within 24hrs it would be cloudy again.
But after reading up online before about cloudy water, it states if a Clarifier doesn’t work then you probably have another problem with the tank. Sure enough within the week one of the fish showed signs of a bacterial infection.
Is it the cure all for clear water? No. Will it work great for things like trapping the debris after a filter rinse? Yes. The only reason I gave it 5 stars is, I bought the 16oz (largest bottle, besides the industrial size) and the top leaks.
A lot. First time after opening it, I went to shake it and it went everywhere! Got in my eyes and stuff. But since I didn’t see any skull and crossbones on the bottle I didn’t do more than a rinse as it didn’t hurt.
Just a shame that I need another bottle or stir it before use.
I have the aqueon 2. 5 gallon tank with one beta in it. I have struggled for months to get it to stay clean and nothing worked. I went to petco to buy a new filter system to see if that was my problem.
I also picked up this water clarifier to see if it would help. Within 10 minutes my tank water went from dark green to crystal clear. I will be heading back to petco to return the filter system I bought since I won’t need it! Definitely would recommend.
Whether you are cleaning your larger tank or need a new home for your Betta, the Imagitarium Temporary Holding Fish Habitat caters to your aquatic needs. This durable, easy-to-clean tank is ideal for use as a temporary fish tank in a wide variety of circumstances.
The pet keeper can serve as a hospital or quarantine tank, a holding area for your fish while you perform maintenance on a larger tank, or as a moving tank to transport your fish to a new home. The carefully engineered lid features excellent ventilation, knock-outs for airline tubing, and a clear flip-top, snap-shut window for feeding.
With such fish-friendly features, the pet keeper makes a great temporary fish tank and must-have aquarium accessory. The Imagitarium Temporary Holding Fish Habitat is also ideal for serving as a Betta fish tank.
The pet keeper comes in a variety of sizes, all of which are suitable for housing your new Betta depending on how large of a Betta fish tank you want to have. Bettas prefer living in current-free water because their long, delicate fins are susceptible to damage in anything but the calmest water.
Also, Bettas don’t require as strong aeration as other aquarium fish because they can breathe from the surface. For these reasons and more, the pet keeper makes an excellent home for your Betta. Just make sure to keep the water fresh and the tank clean, and you should have a happy and healthy Betta you can enjoy.
The Imagitarium Temporary Holding Fish Habitat features a crystal clear base capped with an ocean blue, self-locking lid. Both are easy to clean and maintain. Whether you intend to use it as a temporary fish tank or a permanent Betta fish tank, the pet keeper is sure to meet all your fish-keeping needs.
This 3 gallon tank is perfect to raise fry in or to use as a quarantine tank. Great for small critters as well. It’s large enough to put a hang on back filter or sponge filter and any other accessories as needed.
I added a background, a plastic plant, and a small ornament for hiding. I feed my fry Hikari First Bites through the small clear feeding door on top. It’s durable for the price. There is no handle. I would prefer a black colored cover.
The dimensions listed are 9. 7″ (H) x 8. 7″ (W) x 14. 5″ (L). However, these measurements include the feet at the base of the aquarium and the lid. These lead to the bloated volume estimates by people who just do the math.
The actual dimensions of the portion of the aquarium that holds water is closer to 8-1/4″ (H) x 7-3/4″ (W) x 13-1/4″ (L). I say “closer to” because the aquarium has a tapered design, where the base is narrower than the top.
I measured the actual volume using a measuring cup. A total of 419. 5 ounces of water were used to fill the tank up to its lip. That’s 3. 28 gallons. General comments: The aquarium seems to be reasonably well constructed.
The acrylic (or acrylic-like) plastic is approximately 1/16″ thick. The lid snaps closed and locks into place. The lid, once closed, is very difficult to dislodge. I’m not sure why the manufacturer has the disclaimer: “Intended for pet transport only.
Not intended for use as a permanent habitat. ” It seems to me that any problems (e. g. , structural failure, UV degradation) while using it for permanent uses would apply equally for temporary uses, as well.
A betta fish needs a quiet environment with few distractions. The tank should be at least two gallons and have a tight-fitting lid. The water should be clean and warm, with a temperature between 76 and 82 degrees Fahrenheit.
The betta fish should have a hiding place, such as a cave or a plant, and there should be plenty of oxygen in the water.
