20 Best Enfamil Formula For Constipation (2023 Updated)

My baby has been gassy from day one. We utilized the colic carry and other related suggestions even though our lil one didn’t have colic. We started supplementing breastmilk with formula at about the four month stage.

Our pediatrician recommended Enfamil Gentlease. The tummy troubles weren’t improving, so I decided to try switching formulas. I tried the Enfamil Enspire line as its supposed to be the closest to breastmilk, but nothing changed.

Bowel movements still meant much screaming and crying. It even affected diet because there simply wasn’t enough room left in that lil tummy. I wanted to stay within the Enfamil brand for some consistency, so the Reguline was my last option without further advice from the pediatrician.

I wish I’d switched to Reguline sooner! It helped within a couple days and and continued to work. Bowel movements became much easier and more frequent for our baby. The colic carry was no longer necessary and our baby was generally happier.

As we started to introduce solids, I believe the Reguline helped avoid major gastrointestinal upset usually caused by keeping things moving. Our baby is now a toddler and eats everything offered.

I had been using Enfamil Infant since my daughter was born and it caused her the worse constipation and belly pains. I tried everything to make the formula work for her and it got worse and worse her colic, gas, fuzziness, cramps and constipation.

I asked her pediatricians approval and switched her promptly. The very first bottle made a huge difference. She was burping on her own at 5 weeks! Her stomach cramps were gone and her colic and gas were getting better.

It took her stomach 1 week to adjust to the change but after she adjusted it has been peaceful ever since. I love this formula. I love how well this formula works for us. It has been life changing. I have a new baby.

She even enjoys her milk more now. I wish they made these in the ready to serve bottles you use at the hospital because I NEED them for my next baby coming soon. I love this formula. I am so grateful to have stuck to this formula and have gotten to experience the way it’s working for her.

I also wish they would send samples of these instead because I got samples of Enfamil Enspire which didn’t work for her. Coupons for it should be available too. Needless to say I am sane because of this milk.

We had too many issues with bowel movements. We had tried many formulas, such as Similac Pro Advanced, Similac Total Comfort, and Similac Alimentum. My baby only pooped once a day with Similac Alimentum, but the recall hit, and we had to switch formulas.

The formula I was using was part of the recall!!! We switch to the equivalent which didn’t necessarily agree with baby’s stomach all the time. I had a sample of the gentle ease and it said 24 hours so I wasn’t as nervous just switching when we just switched 2 weeks ago.

No way am I saying anything bad about the Nuero Pro, it just didn’t agree with my baby and her digestive system. Def would recommend if your baby seems fussy, really really gassy and unsettled!!!! It worked 24 hours for us!!!.

After trying many formulas this is the only one that allows my baby to have regular bowel movements. It eases his tummy and helps his digestion. This product allowed his to stop crying, help him have normal bowel movements, allowed him to have less spit-up, rid away gas, helped him toot and burp easily, helped him sleep, and made him happy!!! This is the only formula that works best for my son!!! Please get it back on the shelves, I’m freaking out.

Nothing else works and I can’t supplement any other kind that doesn’t give him atleast one of the symptoms that neopro relieves that I listed above that helps him. A baby shouldn’t have hard solid bowel movements that only comes once or twice a week with bloody stools.

My son has to have this formula to survive and not cry all day long of pain.

I currently have my son on gentlease and it is fantastic! The only reason i am giving this 4 stars is because they make the formula in a regular can and also a oval plastic container. I have found that the formula in the plastic container gives my baby MORE gas! The regular tin can helps his stomach a lot more! I thought that it was both the same formula but when i looked very very closely it says in very small print on the plastic container that it is non-gmo and gluten free and the tin can does not say that on it at all.

They should have that written in bigger letters or have the cans a different color. The plastic container also makes the formula very very frothy which puts a lot of bubbles in his bottles and cause more gas.

The texture of both formulas are also very different.

Babies are difficult. Not by their own fault; they are just learning how to be alive and as a first time mom I’m just trying to survive too. Unfortunately, they cannot tell us what is wrong, they can only give us clues like grunting and bringing their knees to their chest as my little one did about 10 times per hour.

Our twins were 34 week preemies so they were on enfacare when breastmilk when they came home from NICU. Enfacare was not agreeing with their bellies, causing excess spit up, fussiness, etc. Our pedi kept trying to get us to try similac formulas and I was very hesitant as I knew as a HCP that Enfamil had higher DHA and other nutrition at rates that Similac lacked on.

I love the fact that Enfamil Gentlease has close to the same proteins and ratios of whey and casein 60/40 as breastmilk and doesn’t include different sugars, proteins, etc that can aggravate the delicate digestive system plus with the most DHA in formula available in the US I am very comfortable feeding our twins this especially since I had to stop pumping due to loss of supply when I went back to work.

I really wanted to do the Enfamil Ensipre Gentlease, but since it was not in the ready to feed I did not, as our babies seem to like the ready to feed better (less bubbles, and seems to be more ‘creamy’ than the powder) as this works better for their acid reflux as well.

This formula has been a life saver for use. They are 8 months old now and I do not regret my decision at all to place this on this formula. They have gained and grown correctly within their growth curve and out pediatrician brags about how well they are doing.

I am very happy that I decided to really dig in and compare formulas and make this educated decision. I always brag on this formula and how well it has agreed with out girls. My only con is this: I do wish there would be a multiples program that I could easily sign up for because we have spent thousands on formula for the girls.

I can’t say enough about this formula! My son came home on Similac Pro Sensitive but as soon as I got him home, he began having horrible gas pains & spent hours screaming in pain, while we tried assisting him in relieving his gas.

In a desperate attempt I decided to try an Enfamil Neuropro Gentlease that I received as a sample from Enfamil. I couldn’t believe the difference in my son right away! He no longer had bouts of severe gas pains & seemed like a completely new happy baby! I highly recommend this formula.

During the formula shortage, I could only get this ready-to-feed liquid formula & it worked just as well, if not better. As long as your child doesn’t have a gluten allergy, I definitely recommend Enfamil anything.

I do believe they have a formula for children with gluten allergies as well. The Similac Pro Sensitive was so gritty & likely harder on my son’s tummy. The Enfamil powder formulas are no where near that consistency.

Likely it’s because they use rice flour whereas Similac uses corn flour, maybe. Regardless of whether or not the Enfamil has corn syrup solids as an ingredient, I’d still highly recommend it. It has been a lifesaver for us & my son especially.

I was forced to fusion feed my baby right from the start. I did months of research just to be proactive and originally chose to bring a can of this formula with me in my hospital bag just in case. Upon finding out I needed more caloric intake for my NICU baby I was told I couldn’t feed it the enfamil product as the hospital had a contract with Similac.

Thanks Enfamil you understand the struggles of parenthood in this new packaging. Now I just hope you can get the Enfamil Enspire Toddler back on the shelf as I will definitely use that for my little guys health and we’ll being as he ages out of the infant stage and into Toddler.

Formula is one of those things that’s hard to know if all the good stuff you’re paying extra for is really working. But after a few weeks of using enspire, I have continued to purchase it and plan to until baby turns 1.

To try to justify “splurging” on formula, this is my first baby, he had breastmilk only for the first 6 months. When beginning to supplement, I used 2 sample products from the pediatrician’s office, ready to use Enfamil NeuroPro (the yellow one) and powder Similac the silver and purple ones.

Then I decided to buy enspire after searching for the best, closest to breastmilk formula out there. My baby has always had a decent amount of spit up, and that still happened with other formulas, but I have noticed less spit up since buying enspire.

Practically no spit up now that he’s been using enspire for over a month, but him growing older could also account for that. Baby has no issues with bowel movements while using enspire, but he never really did with other formulas either.

The most notable difference between enspire and the other popular brand of formula, is that enspire dissolves easily, almost instantly. Does still foam up, but it’s not bad and it settles quickly.

I was researching and is one of the few that does not contain any added corn syrup or sugar other than lactose. It also has lactoferrin and other components that are found on breast milk. In a perfect world; this formula would be organic but unfortunately it is not.

Perhaps is something that [brand:enfamil] can possibly look into implementing in the future. — I am currently supplementing and found that this was the best formula that I could afford and I could find in stores.

My baby does well with it and she seems to like it more than other enfamil formulas. There is a gentle version of this Enspire HOWEVER does contain CORN SYRUP. Some cons of this formula: WIC doesn’t cover it, it is NOT organic and it’s kind of pricey.

I couldn’t wait for my micro preemie to be discharged home because the hospital was giving her Similac Neurosure (which I hated); but I ordered 2 cases of Enfacare before we were even discharged because I already knew I was going to be using Enfamil formula.

As soon as we got home my daughter’s first bottle home was Enfacare and she took the whole 2oz with no problems where with the Neurosure she always gagged and threw up. I thank God for Enfamil and all of their products.

My micro preemie is thriving and gaining weight, I don’t know how long she’ll be on Enfacare but I’m glad Enfamil is step 1 in her growing process; plus it doesn’t stink like the Similac does. I talk about Enfamil as if I’m an ambassador for the company.

My son was born prematurely so he had to use this. At first I breastfed and supplemented with this and he digested just fine, but when my supply tanked and he was eating mostly just this he became constipated and would cry out of pain.

Then I completely only used this and it was AWFUL. My pediatrician wanted us to continue using it until he reached a certain weight so we tried sticking it through. But my son went from pooping multiple times a day to once every few days the hardest most painful poops I wanted to cry when he would scream from trying to poop.

It hurt him so much 🙁 once we got the green light to change we went to Earths best gentle formula and now he’s pooping smooth and easy without thinking about it! This was just too hard on him. Oh and the ingredients suck, I would never recommend this if weight isn’t an issue.

My daughter was born 7 weeks early and was small for gestational age. She was getting very little nutrients for 3-4 weeks before birth. For 2 months, we fortified breast milk with Enfacare and then we transitioned entirely to Enfacare.

Overall, my baby has consistently been gaining weight appropriately since birth and is starting to catch up. She seems to enjoy drinking the formula as well and it provides a lot of nutritional value.

The main pitfall for us is that her body really struggles to digest Enfacare comfortably. We are not certain yet if it is the formula as we have not tried anything else or if it is her GI system. I can say that she takes the powder better than the pre-mixed bottles.

We will continue to use Enfacare until she is 5 months to see if her reflux/GI issues resolve on their own or if we need to consider any lactose or soy sensitivities for her. We have trusted Enfacare for her steady growth since birth- a huge feat for a small sized preemie!.

So my son was born 2 weeks early and was not breathing on his own after birth. He was on cpap ventilators & then oxygen tubing. Since he was also born with other complications he had to stay in hospital as I went home.

I breastfed my older daughter exclusively for 2 years and I just didn’t wanna do that with my son I just hated sitting for prolonged periods of time how often I had to feed and I think I just stuck it out so long cause of the guilt and shame society puts on moms who choose to bottle feed these days.

The hospital he was born at on maui Hawaii only gave similac and after hearing so much about recalls but not yet researching I was so afraid. The Similac seemed to upset him further so I just pumped and pumped I was exhausted after having my 2nd csection to be pumping so often and washing all the parts.

So he got worse and was transferred to Oahu Hawaii hospital because rather have neonatal icu which we don’t have on maui. And they give enfamil there they immediately gave him neuro pro yellow can and the breast milk on top of that and he changed over the next week gained all his weight back was content and happy.

I love this formula so much. I love that it’s non gmo and has prebiotics! I and purchased a organic formula I wanted to love but when I tried to give to him it gave him a horrible Rash and gas and he was sooo upset and uncomfortable.

I switched back to enfamil and again he over night changed into a happy baby. No Rash, hardly any spit up no gas and seems to be flourishing. I freaking love enfamil! So glad I found this through hospital on Oahu Hawaii.

This formula has been a game changer for us. It’s not an exaggeration when I say that I have spent hours upon hours researching formulas and reading reviews. I told myself when I finally found the right formula that I would write a review in hopes of helping someone else.

My son was diagnosed with acid reflux at three weeks old, and put on Pepcid along with levsin as needed. His pediatrician put him on Similac Alimentum, not only was it outrageously expensive, it made him projectile vomit.

I then tried Gerber Goodstart soothepro due to the hydrolyzed milk protein and pre and probiotics in the formula. It was awful, he developed a rash, and horribly painful and awful smelling bowel movements, all signs of gut issues.

I decided that we would try soy, I was desperate for him to feel better. He did somewhat better with soy but still spit up, and stopped gaining weight, I worried he wasn’t getting the nutrients he needed so I went back to cow’s milk, Similac total comfort.

It was awful, hurt his stomach, bad gas, constantly spitting up, terrible rash. I was about to go back to soy and I decided I’d give cow’s milk formula one more try and try Enfamil AR. I’m so thankful I did.

He rarely spits up, no more rashes, his gut is finally straightened out. He’s a totally different baby. I know every baby is different and what works for some, won’t work for others, but if you’re back and forth on which added rice formula to use, Enfamil AR has the least amount of ingredients of all the ones on the market.

When it comes to formula less is more. We are so thankful for this formula!.

When my husband and I came home with our newborn we quickly found out our daughter had latching issues. After two days of trying to spoon feed her colostrum it was clear she wasn’t getting enough to eat so we ran out and picked this up in a pinch.

We used it for about a day and a half (maybe two and a half ounces at most for that entire period) up until my milk came in and experienced no issues with digestion issues such as vomiting or pain. We put the formula aside once my milk came in as I had started exclusively pumping and we were able to feed her breastmilk via bottle.

A little over a month later my milk supply dropped drastically almost overnight and suddenly we found ourselves running out of the breastmilk supply we had stored in the freezer so we decided to start supplementing with formula during the day time.

Received the Enfamil Simply Organic infant formula the other day. I like that it is an organic formula that is crafted with USDA certified organic milk and natural ingredients inspired by breastmilk.

I like that it is a milk based powder with iron and that it is non GMO, no antibiotics, no corn syrup solids, no added preservatives and no artificial growth hormones. I also like that it is the #1 recommended brand by pediatricians, that it contains brain building omega 3 DHA, that it is from grass fed cows, and contains vitamins C&E for immune support.

It was easy to mix and dissolved well. I gave a bottle to my newborn to supplement breast milk. At first he did not care for it but I kept trying just a little bit at a time. Naturally he prefers the breast milk but he will take this once in a while.

After another Google search trying to find the solution, I discovered Reguline. The reviews seemed positive, and Enfamil was my preferred brand, so I gave it a shot. Within a day or two, I had a whole new baby! He was happier, he was comfortable, he even looked better! And in turn, so was I.

My son started on enfamil gentle ease which constipated him and his poop was like peanut butter. The pediatrician told us to try nutrimigan which helped and had him doing blow outs twice a day and gave him really painful gas.

So we tried soy and that made it worse. Hes been on similac alimentum for about a month and it seemed to be better but poops started looking like peanut butter again and he was straining so bad and sometimes going days without anything and also had really bad reflux.

Our new pediatrician gave us samples of this and on the second bottle he pooped without straining and hes been passing gas without crying. Wish i wouldve known about this sooner! Just wish it came in a bigger tub.

This and all North American formulas are rubbish!! Please look at the ingredients and compare what is allowed in baby formula compared to the UK, Germany, Netherlands and France. Full of GMOs, Hexane, Soy oil, high fructose corn syrup and Maltodextrin.

All terrible fillers which Health Canada and FDA are allowing your babies to eat. This formula is rubbish and would never feed it to my baby. spend the money and have it shipped from England. Kendamil is very high quality.

We bought the ready to feed 59ml nursette bottles and was not disappointed! My little one had to spend some time in the NICU and this is what they supplemented her with when I did not have enough milk she tolerates it excellent.

It’s fantastic because it’s ready to feed you can just open it up at room temperature screw on a nipple or simply pour it into the bottle that you are using for your baby. No need to warm it no need to measure it works perfect.

And if you have a child like mine who does not like to wait for her food to be warmed up this is ideal especially in the middle of the night for night feeds!! This product is great, we have now moved on to the biggest style bottles as our babe is eating more than the 59ml per feed, and that ready to feed product is exactly the same! Honestly it is a bit pricy but the convince of it makes it worth the little extra money!.

After a failed attempt at breastfeeding our LO, and the Similac recall, I was at a loss of what the next best thing to try was. With many failed attempts at switching, my husband and I decided that we would make a full switch from Kirkland brand to the Enfamil Gentlease.

Our LO has taken to this transition so well. Both my husband and I are getting sleep at night, and our LO isn’t fussing so much. It’s easier to burp and get the gas bubbles out of the tummy. Our LO has been a complete night and day change.

This formula is really good for babies with gas and constipation. Recommend.

When my son was born we already knew we wanted to breastfeed. We get home all is well and got a sample box in the mail from Enfamil and Enspire was one of the samples. Fast forward and 12 week goes by headed back to work.

With in no time going from exclusively feeding to feeding and pumping and working full time, this mom was not able to keep up with a quickly growing baby. So we decided to start supplemental formula feeding and was grateful to have gotten this sample box.

The sample box that was sent had Enspire in it but we switched the Enspire Gentlease since our son had gas issues from birth and we had been using gas drops on a regular basis. We really did see a difference with the gentlease and used less gas drops over time.

Eventually we went from supplementary feeding to formula full time around 6-8 months. We never tried a different brand or type of Enfamil the entire time we used formula.

This formula was my first choice in the event that we needed to supplement along with breast milk. Since we had had samples of other products, we started with those and eventually settled on something different.

That formula was apart of the most recent formula recall, so I made a decision to try this one. It was the best decision and our little guy enjoys it tremendously. The price was an initial concern since we had other samples and had seemingly found one which assisted with some minor reflux, however, once changing and seeing how easily he took to it, as well as easily he digested it, the price was not much of a factor.

I just collected our coupons and when we could utilize them, we did. We love this formula type and so does our bundle.

Thankful for this formula for my child who has liver disease. It’s easier to absorb and has added mct oil for fat. It’s recommended by his gastroenterologist to help optimize his nutrition. It was an easy transition from breastfeeding to combining formula and breast milk.

Our 10 month old has recently been diagnosed as failure to thrive and even more heart wrenching our darling has unknown allergies. With the copious medical tests our sweetie is undergoing we also had to switch formulas.

THAT was the biggest challenge! This is the only known allergen free formula the cutie will take and while it matters well be gold plated for the cost it really has been a true lifesaver for all of us.

My baby was not gaining weight after birth on any formula and he was having continuous diarrhea. We were so worried as he was getting weaker and was not able to latch. Those were the most difficult days of my life as my baby is very precious.

I had my sweet precious boy after 5 miscarriages. He was born with spina bifida and we though diarrhea could be because of this underlying condition. Finally doctors sent his stool for fat content test and it came back positive.

Doctors started him on progestimil and he started gaining few grams everyday. I’m so thankful for this formula, can’t emphasize how much. We are back home from hospital and he is active and growing every day.

My baby has been in the NICU for about 5 months for being born as 23 weeker. His NICU doctor ordered this product to help my baby’s reflux and swallowing problem. It has been so great for my baby. I only have 1 can left at this time and I can’t find this product available anywhere near me or online.

After having a swallow study, my baby can’t take breast milk due to its aspiration into his lung. I really need this product for the next 10 months since my baby’s corrected age is just about 10 weeks.

For a baby like mine who needs this special kind for his condition is so critical. Please let me know how I can get this product at this time of crisis on shortage of formula nationally.

My son was born prematurely and I was directed to specifically give him similac neosure. The similac cause my baby to choke on his spit up after almost every feeding. It caused horrible acid reflux you could smell it on his breath.

After going back and forth with multiple doctors we finally switched to Enfamil AR it honestly has been the best thing possible. It has been a week since his switch and although he still spits up it doesn’t come out of his nose and it’s not as extreme as it was before.

When he spits up he is actually very calm versus the screaming and heavy breathing like the similac. I recommend this formula to all babies who have severe acid reflux!.

I used with my first son who was started on the yellow Enfamil but was kinda binding him up from too much iron they thought, switched him to gentlease and immediately was a difference and no belly issues! Now my 2nd son who was also a nicu baby for just under a month was immediately started on gentlease and he is for sure a naturally gassy baby, farts alot and loud and big burps.

No spit up though. And we have no issues with him being in pain from gas or pooping issues! So 10/10 recommend for babies period. Either normal non gassy babies or gassy babies that don’t have a milk allergy of course !.
