20 Best Energy Efficient Toaster Oven (2023 Updated)

I have the older verson of this Oster convection oven that has knobs instead of push buttons. It still works perfect even after 6 years. I wanted a newer verson, which preheats even to 400 degrees in 6 min.

Plus this newer verson has a lite in the oven. I have baked biscuits in it, cornbread, cherry pie, and tonight a lemon bunt cake. All came out perfect! The large Oster convection is not too large but is large enough to cook anything I want.

I have not used my large gas range oven but 1 time in 6 years. I am sold on Oster Ovens. The temperture is right on, and you don’t hear the convection fan at all. I use convection bake on everything, including pizza.

You won’t go wrong with this Oster convection oven.

I have now had three of the Oster XL toaster ovens. I love the size and use it practically every day. The old model used a mechanical timer, temperature, and mode (toast, bake, convection bake, broil) selection knobs.

The timer was the weakest part of the unit but was preferable to the new electronic controls. The temperature and mode selection knob stayed on the selection last used, so to turn on all I had to do was turn the timer knob past 20 minutes then to the time desired and it was heating up.

It was already set to the last temperature used and usually in the convection bake mode. Now I must reset time, temperature and mode with at least 3 punches of buttons that do not give much in the way of confirmation they are activated and to get the right temp I could be punching buttons numerous times.

I know this sounds petty but the engineers who designed this unit have NEVER used it. They tried to make it all electronic and succeeded but at the expense of convenience and simplicity. I have been asked several times by my two daughters (15 & 18) can we just fix the old one, it was much better.

The Ninja Foodie Air Fryer. Like the title says, size is one of the features of this device. It is smaller in height but as wide and deep as many of its larger competitors. The short height limits the size of items it can cook (the internal height is about 2.

75 from grill to the upper heating elements. ) The design is excellent for specific small items, but the lower height reduces its versatility. The good: It can accept a regular pizza or about a 13×13 tray for cookies, brownies, roasted potatoes, or hot wings.

That savings in height allows the unit to tip up out of the way for when not in use and the bottom panel opens for easier cleaning. The controls are simple and intuitive. It preheats fast and the air fry settings cook relatively fast.

The bad: It can be unsafe to use things like oven-safe pans with handles or taller pans, which get way too close to the exposed glass-covered top heating elements, which can break and create an electrical hazard.

That short height puts greasy items very close to the top surface, so you can expect some baked-on grease splatter and tough stains from hot spitting oils, butters, grease, etc. Ive seen a few of these with broken top, front elements due to getting snagged on cooking trays or handles on that exposed upper element and they are not designed to be repaired by unskilled consumers (electrical hazards, sharp-edged panels, riveted interiors, different element resistance ratings, and differing element insulator sizes that cant easily be accessed or replaced.

Replacement elements are not sold individually) once broken, its done. So dont put oversized items in it. Overall, the toaster oven functions well for limited items, is easy to use, and easier to clean than similar toaster ovens.

But, it is not as versatile as a taller competitor.

Great price on the refurbished unit. It’s easy to set the time and temperature for any mode. We use the air fry mode mostly but the other modes are easy to access and use. It has a pretty wide opening so overall it’s a bit wider than many of the “toaster ovens” that I grew up with.

Love the pivot feature so that it takes up less counter space when not in use. When i first set it up I found on the left inside of the unit there was a tab for the bottom slot that prevented the grate from sliding in properly.

I had to slightly bend the tab outward with a pair of needle nose pliers so that the large grate would slide into the bottom slot. And the power cord absolutely must be pulled away from the storage slots on back of the unit when it’s turned on as IMHO the cord gets way too hot if it’s resting in the slots.

Only other downside I see so far (and it’s a nit pick not a real problem) is that to store the pan, grates and air fry basket in the unit one has to put the pan right under under the air fry basket while puitting the small grate on top of the air fry basket, and then push all three together at one time with the air fry basket sliding into the top slot (see picture).

A bit cumbersome initially but easy to do once i got the hang of it. Overall this is a good unit so far,and for the refurbished price, is a really good deal.

I originally shopped for the air fryer/toaster oven combinations as seen on TV. I’m glad I found Kitchen Aid’s air-fryer instead. This product is well-built and performs great. The instruction book is well-written and simple to understand, which makes the controls easy to use.

The auto-light is helpful when monitoring your cooking. The glass door is large with padded stops so that you an see everything and not bang the door when shutting it. On other fryers, I’ve read reviews where the fan was too loud.

This air-fryer fan is so quiet! This model is packed with cooking options and multiple trays. I don’t have to heat an entire oven for cooking (thus, saving on my electric bill) and it’s almost as fast as a microwave in reheating! I was reluctant to replace my traditional Kitchen Aid toaster oven because it is so well-built and operates perfectly some 10 years later, but I do like the air-fryer feature on this one.

I’ve had it for one month and so far used the Air Fry, Toast, and Bake functions with no problems – nice and even heat distribution. I am still experimenting with the default timings, but have been pleased so far.

This model is similar in size and shape, so no compromise had to be made for location. If you leave your food in the oven after the cook time, it will automatically shut off and chime to let you know it’s ready, but even better is the fact that it will continue to chime every once in a while until you cancel or open the door, in case your forget.

That’s a nice improvement over my old oven. I can’t seem to part with my old traditional toaster oven from Kitchen Aid, but this new model will take it’s place on the counter. I expect to keep this one for a long time.

After nearly 30 years with “another” maker’s toaster oven we took a chance and purchased a refurbished KitchenAid toaster oven. All I can say is WOW! Not only are the controls completely user-friendly and intuitive but, this is THE BEST countertop oven I have ever used.

The toaster function is just a small part of what this KitchenAid appliance does well. It bakes/broils as well as if not better than our gas oven and it preheats in a remarkably short period of time.

The timer function is dead-on perfect and we could not be more pleased with the finished products we’ve cooked in our toaster oven. Forget the European high tech ovens out there – overpriced and not reliable in the long term.

This toaster oven rocks our world. great job, KitchenAid!.

My only problem is that I have to look close to read the words (cook, toast, reheat, etc). Lettering is small, and is NOT DIRECTLY in front of me. On the reviews that I read before buying it, someone mentioned not being able to hear the tones it makes.

I was in the basement at the other end of the house. I actually heard the tone when it shut off. It doesn’t seem loud when I’m next to, though. I’ve only had this about a month, but love how it bakes.

Toasted with it once, just to check it out. Haven’t checked amount of time compared to my toaster, but, might end up getting rid of my toaster if time is about the same. My previous toaster oven was a convection, and did not bake good.

It have a rotisserie, but I didn’t use it much.

My husband surprised me with my Breville Smart Oven Pro for the 46th anniversary of our engagement! I/we really like ours and use it almost daily and on some days two or three times. The learning curve was very little.

Our favorite features are Toast, Bake, Warm and Reheat. The TOAST pre-set of 4&4 is perfect for our breakfast toast (2 slices) And the same goes for 2 “toasted cheese sandwiches. ” We BAKE (regular/no convection) most of our dinner/supper entres.

And the size of Smart Oven Pro allows for even my 9-3/4×9-3/4x 2” casserole with lid, too! The non-stick 12 inch “pizza” pan that came along –is almost worth its weight in gold as they say. For keeping fresh pizzeria pizza toasty with the “WARM” setting (our preference middle rack and temp 200 degrees).

For leftover cold pizzeria pizza – making it mouth watering with the “REHEAT” setting (our preference middle rack temp 325 degrees). The REHEAT setting is wonderful for a piece of cake/brownie, etc. in bringing back that just baked smell and taste.

I must include in my review that the convection fan noise is noticeable. So, this is an area for Breville to “work” on going forward to make their oven even better!.

I purchased this oven in January while I was waiting for my new wall oven to be installed. For several months it was my ONLY oven and I must say that it was fabulous. It was so much more than the standard countertop oven.

I was thrilled with my purchase. that was, until I noticed that my food wasn’t really getting as hot as it should be (when I was warming leftovers). At first, I chalked it up to my not leaving it in long enough or moving to fast as I multitasked in the kitchen.

Then, after repeated incidents, I took time to measure the internal temperature with a thermometer. As I suspected, the oven was not coming to temperature – despite the fact that the pre-heat bell had indicated that it was at the proper temp.

To add insult to injury, when I contacted WS last evening, they indicated that I could not return the item to them as defective and that I would need to contact Wolf – which I will do after the holiday (today is Thanksgiving).

I must say that I am prepared for a fight as I have now read some other online reviews which indicated that other people have been told no returns and no repair options. This is totally unacceptable.

DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM – trust me, you don’t want to be like me writing a negative review on Thanksgiving morning.

I do not recommend this oven. The Wolf oven is cheaply made compared to my old Breville. The sheet metal is thin and already had a couple of dings in it right out of the box. The pan that came with it is not much more substantial than a disposable aluminum pan you would buy at the grocery store.

The removable rack system is awkward. The pan that came with the oven barely fits because the racks are so clunky. My old Breville had multiple rack placement options. The Wolf only has three. The Wolf is so small inside (thanks to the clunky racks) that a normal sized pizza pan will not even fit in it.

My 9 x 13 pan will only fit if it is shoved in catty-cornered. The knobs feel like they could break off with any given twist. The chime is not loud enough. The door does not sit flush on the counter.

The only good quality it has, it that it does cook; but so do cheaper discount store ovens. For the price I paid, I was very disappointed. I feel like this oven may last a year and then I will upgrade to a new Breville.

First to go after my wife passed was the rarely-used, traditional, built-in oven which would have required a major kitchen remodel for the new size unit. Replaced it with a Breville Convection oven, easier-to-use and much more versatile.

Cost me far less than a replacement built-in oven plus kitchen remodel. Am reclaiming the oven space for much needed storage. Next replacement was the Mini-Smart Oven (subject of this review) necessitated by the failure of a typical big box store countertop toaster oven.

That brand lasted 12 years. Could have purchased the same dated-looking, old-tech model but decided to go with the Mini-Smart Oven. I could have just used the Breville Convection Oven but no. The Mini-Smart has the just what I need to quickly and consistently toast a bagel or English muffin, heat a croissant, or warm a couple of tortillas.

Add a glass of juice and an espresso and my Continental Breakfast is made. The Breville Convection Oven is my new kitchen oven and is treated as such. I use it to cook meals when I have guests. I have purchased smaller sized kitchen trays suited for cooking the size portions needed for the kind of entertaining I now do.

Like a traditional oven, it is used as storage for trays of different sizes. So, just as you wouldn’t unload your traditional kitchen oven and fire it up just to toast a bagel, I use my Breville Convection oven as an oven and my Mini-Smart Oven as a toaster or for making some kind of a heated sandwich.

Saves me from having to remove lots of trays and replace them after the Convection oven has cooled. Appliances are nice but seems there is never enough kitchen space and I get tired of having to constantly move stuff around in order to have the space needed to cook a simple meal.

Writing this after 2-3 weeks of use. Checking reviews, and with neighbors and family, Breville toaster ovens score very well. But Breville’s higher-end models have reports of failing with “error codes” being displayed, ending the life of the appliance, so we purchased this simpler model (and added Geek Squad, just in case.

) This is a well-designed toaster oven. The control panel provides simple and clear access to all the functions. Toasting is excellent, though the top side does get a little more done than the bottom.

The “A BIT MORE” button is a REALLY nice feature. We’ve also baked with it – things like frozen chicken nuggets, and nachos – and it works well. There is even a clear legend on the door showing which of the 3 rack positions should be used based on the cooking function.

The toast times are self-adjusting — if the oven is already hot from the previous cycle, times are reduced accordingly, so the results remain consistent to the settings (darkness and number of slices.

) The outside skin of the oven does get hot, so do not place this where small children or pets may touch it without knowing, and do not place/store items on top. That said, the front handle and its supports are insulted from the heat, so proper opening and closing is 100% safe.

The User Guide is brief and very clear – WORTH READING.

I purchased this Breville smart oven B0V650XL back in late August and received it in early September 2021 from Williams Sonoma. I use it almost daily; It does a good job, I use mostly on the bake, bagel, and toast settings.

But after owning this for a little over 6 months (now in April 2022), this morning I heard several loud beeps after using it and then it displayed the error code “E01”. According to Breville, this occurs when there is a “non-resettable issue with the appliance and should this occur, immediately remove the power cord from the outlet and call the Breville Service Customer Center.

” After a quick search of the internet, this error code E01 indicates an issue with the thermal fuse. (I was toasting bread for 2 minutes previous to the error code – certainly NOT using the oven at it’s highest setting – broil).

I unplugged the oven, and plugged it back in and it appears to work – although I’m not going to use it, the outlet works as well; since it’s still under warranty, I will contact Breville… fill out a “case report”.

Ironically, my other brand Deluxe Toaster Oven was still working fine after 5 years, I wanted something newer only because some of the other brand’s label /decals had worn off over time. (although by then I knew the buttons from memory).

Oh, the hassle & time consumption of dealing with stuff like this. If you buy this, make sure you buy the extended warranty!.

After purchasing a 100 year old fixer upper with the tiniest kitchen imaginable I decided my cooking needs were so minimal that a countertop oven with a built in stove top would suffice so I had the old electric stove that came with the house hauled off and put in desperately needed cabinets along the 6 ft wall.

Owning a Breville juicer and coffee grinder I spent several weeks researching all their convection ovens before purchasing this. I had been air frying my salmon filets in a little $20 air fryer and wanted that function but after 2 unsatisfactory tries on the Breville I’ve retrieved the cheap one from the depths of my basement.

The lack of instructive material included with a $400 oven that obviously has a learning curve is mind blowing not to mention no recipe book, the $20 one came with a small recipe book but Breville apparently wants you to pay for their cooking lessons.

So back to the internet to find help on how to use the behemoth and the consensus was to put an oven thermometer inside and see how the oven setting matches the thermometer readout. I started at the automated bake setting which came up as 350 but when the preheat was finished my thermometer read 225.

I left it in and kept going back to check but gave up after 30 minutes when the thermometer topped out at 250. Judging from that experiment I’ll need a few weeks to test every setting and have to do a lot of recording of Breville temps to actual temps before cooking my favorite things such as cheesecake.

Unfortunately I’ve gone past the return period so I can’t return it and it could be sometime before I’ll feel safe using it successfully. Tossing overdone salmon was pretty irritating, not to mention the terrible smoking and spattering all over the coils when I attempted to broil the salmon instead of air frying.

Here’s hoping I’ll be able to join all the exuberant Breville owners at some point in time but for now I’m not a happy camper.

PROS 1. This is a nice item to have especially during the summer in lieu of turning on your big oven. We were in a temporary apartment and the oven heated up the entire place unbearably. This helped us avoid that.

2. The air fryer is fantastic. However… CONS: 1. Performance: For its size, this oven seems to take a very long time to preheat. It also has an incredibly LOUD and incredibly annoying alert when items are done or after preheat finishes.

It is so jarring and sharp it was one reasons I stopped using the oven completely when we moved. You can turn it off but it seems like you have to do it every time. There is no permanent override that I could find.

Which brings me to… 2. The controls are way more difficult than necessary. I wouldn’t say they are exactly intuitive in any way. I’ve had Breville ovens before and they just aren’t that difficult. 3.

Size: this Breville is humongous and just TOO large compared to the smaller ovens they have. The measurements may not seem like a big difference but when you get it on your counter it is, especially if you’re in a smaller apt kitchen.

4. Toasting: along with its other cooking features it also has a toast selection…but don’t expect it to toast evenly like their other toaster ovens. One half of our oven doesn’t even seem to get the bread toasted at all.

The cons far outweigh the pros for me on this item especially considering the price. I’d rather just spend the money on separate items that do their own specific job well and not this one that seems to have too many drawbacks.

I have been a William Sonoma customer for many years. It is for this reason that I purchased my Breville Toaster Oven from William Sonoma when I replaced my Breville toaster oven which I used regularly for 5 years without a problem.

I had been pleased with the performance of my new oven, especially the convection feature, when it develop a noise that sounded like a helicopter landing. I determined this to be an issue with the convection fan.

I contacted Wm. Sonoma customer service and was told that their warranty covered only the first month after purchase and to contact Breville. After contacting Breville I was told that their warranty was one year, and since I had owned my toaster oven for 2 years, they could provide a small credit for a new toaster oven, if I ordered directly from them.

I am disappointed with the performance of my Breville product and the customer service or lack thereof provided by William Sonoma and Breville. I specifically chose to buy my Breville from William Sonoma rather than its competitors, who were offering the product for this same price, because I thought that Wm Sonoma stood behind its products.

I am even more disappointed with the quality of this product, as problems with the convection fan appear to be a common issue.

This is my second oven of this model type. First unit bought in/around 2013. Second in 2018. The are temperature accurate ( I checked with a thermocouple). Quick to heat up. Do a good job at what they are supposed to do.

But they are perfectly designed through planned obsolesce. They do not last very long and so far both of mine gave up the ghost after 3-5 years. I took the first one completely apart to recycle it just to see how it was designed and constructed.

There is little to no insulation in these ovens this is why the exterior gets so hot. They are designed to be put together fast on an assembly line for high volume production. My first oven the display died.

On the second oven the convection fan seized up. It made a bad noise for about 10 seconds then seized. Now it’s locked up. I sent in the second one to Breville for repair at a cost of $125 which is reasonable since it includes shipping.

We will see how long it takes for them to repair/replace and get it back to me. I do not have any experience with other counter top ovens from competitors so I can’t compare. I was born in the 60’s so I still remember when product were made better to last longer.

But our economy is based on consumption so this is what we get now. I am still of the mindset that I’d rather pay 25-50% more in capital cost for a longer lasting appliance. It’s better for the environment and more convenient to have something that you rely on every day work when expected.

We’ve had this unit for more than 3 months and absolutely love it. We replaced a toaster oven, so having an air fry (and other) features was a major bonus. The design of this unit is great. For starters, is is SIMPLE to use.

I love technology, but I don’t want to fiddle around with menus and buttons when I’m making toast. The analog dial makes it easy to set the unit. The unit comes up to temperature very quickly and heats evenly.

Toast comes out perfectly every time. The digital countdown timer makes it easy to see how much cooking time is left, and you can always add time with a quick turn of the dial. The air fry feature is great.

We’ve had good luck with chicken and fries, but you can really use it for anything. Anything with heavy, dripping batter is going to make a mess and smoke up the unit. Pressure cooker based air fryers may perform better, but this unit is good enough for our needs and we don’t need to have a separate appliance.

The unit is definitely larger and deeper than a normal toaster oven, so if your counters are not deep, this is going to stick out. However, it is smaller than some other toaster oven/air fryer combos.

I’d definitely recommend it.

I ordered the oven through Amazon. I was looking for one that had an air fryer feature. Amazon didn’t show any, so I assumed Kitchen Aid didn’t make one. When I looked through the enclosed brochures after delivery, I saw that they indeed do make one.

So I was disappointed that I settled for the plain oven. I’ve used the toaster, bagel and bake feature. It heats up quickly and cooks evenly. The bottom tray easily pulls out to clean our debris. It fits easily under the cabinets on our kitchen counter.

I’d buy again, but would go with the air fryer version.

Lovely toaster oven. Did some research for what I like and wanted. Found it in this toaster oven and I love the roll top door. I’m in a small condo with limited counter space so the roll top door is nice as it doesn’t impede my counter space.

I can also see and read the info around the knobs unlike my old much smaller white one. The numbers and writing around knobs of my old one were off with cleaning. This one takes a few extra minutes to heat up but once it does it works great.

Personally for what I wanted it for it more than meets my needs. I just got sick of regular toasters and the guys breaking and damaging toasters by forcing the lever up when they want it to stop plus dropping stuff in and around the coils and me being left to clean it.

That’s the reason I got a toaster oven to begin with. Once I realized all the things I could do with a toaster oven I really wore out the small cheap one I had as well as the drop down open front door got out of whack during cleaning.

I was about to purchase a counter-top convection oven for maybe five times the cost of this one from another manufacturer when a colleague told me to give the Hamilton Beach brand a try to see if it would’t do everything I wanted at a fraction of the cost.

Well, I am so glad that I took his advice because the Hamilton Beach® 6-Slice Easy Reach Convection Oven has met all my expectations! Sure, it’s not as fancy as the ones with all the digital controls but that wasn’t my main criteria when I was looking for a good and reliable convection oven.

I just thought a more expensive unit from a ‘high end’ manufacturer would be a wiser investment. However, when I thought about what I was really going to use the unit for – frozen pizza, toast, reheating food, and broil chicken – it made sense! Frankly, I wasn’t ever going to make whole rotisserie chicken or bake a whole lot of anything so it didn’t really make sense for me to pay so much more for what I wanted to do.

Well, I love making toast in this oven! As soon as I tasted how much better this oven toasted my bread, I donated my old toaster the next day. I usually toast only four slices but I’m sure six could fit perfectly.

I love how light and crunchy my toasts come out after maybe 4-5 minutes. I also love broiling chicken and, of course, cooking pizzas in it without heating up the whole house, especially when the A/C is on! It can accomodate 6-8 chicken thighs and a 12″ pizza quite easily.

For the most part, this unit does bake food evenly with little or no “cool” spots, unlike my parents’ Oster unit which would leave some sections of the pizza uncooked even when the convection fan was running! I have not noticed this with my HB oven.

Two things I wish they could have done better: 1) Redesign how the rack slides in an out of the oven. There is no catch like a real gas oven so the rack can and does slide out too far and too fast on occasions.

If there was a catch to prevent the rack from coming out too far I think I would be completely satisfied 2) make the catch tray under the rack more secure and a little bigger so that it catches more drippings and not leave too much gaps on the sides and wobble around too much.

Other than that, I’m pretty satisfied with this oven and I really like the Easy Reach design. It’s easy to clean, feels sturdy, and cooks everything really well so I would definitely recommend it. I give it 4.

I bought this oven because my elderly aunt has a hard time with the doors of most toaster ovens. This oven door slid up and out of the way so it was perfect for her. Well, it stopped toasting after 6 months.

The oven settings are still working but the toast setting does not. I’ve contacted the manufacturer several times but no one has ever responded. What a waste.

I have categorized my interaction with the Crisp and Bake Air Fry Oven as I have used it multiple times now and I love its features. Unboxing: The product was properly packed. The glass and the door hinge was taped down and well protected with foam and cardboard to prevent movement and breakage.

Design Overall, the product has a nice looking design. I have it stored in the panty but, it would look nice on the countertop as well. Instructions The instructions provided were simple and straight-forward.

In addition to the instruction manual, it came with a laminated cheat-sheet for quick reference to cook foods like nuggets and french fries. Cooking The heating element warms pretty fast, so its hotter than some traditional toaster ovens.

While cooking “Shrimp Tempura” I had to monitor it carefully. Even while following the instructions it charred quickly. After a small learning curve I now understand the timing aspect of the oven. Be sure to read and follow the instructions carefully and monitor your food while you get familiar with how the unit operates The end chime only sounds once so, make sure you are in listening distance or have some other way to remind yourself of your cook time.

I purchased this toaster oven 1-1/2 years ago. Don’t like to review an item until I have used it for a period of time. I was replacing a 20 year old Black and Decker 6 slice toaster oven which was fantastic but it finally gave out.

It took me over 6 months of searching until I decided on this one. It is substantially lighter than my previous oven so I wasn’t sure how it would hold up. I use it every day mostly for baking, toasting, rewarming and simple cooking.

I actually like it better than my old one. The easy reach feature is fantastic. I can check whatever I’m cooking or baking without turning it off. Also, I have limited counter space so although it is fairly large, the easy reach feature still gives me room on the counter.

Toast comes out perfect. Love this oven. The only con is that the oven door does not detach for cleaning. Luckily I have small hands and can open it and reach under to clean inside of oven door. Also, the baking pan that comes with it discolors even though I always cover it with foil.

It does not hold 6 slices of bread; 4 with a little extra room Otherwise, I have had no problems and really love all the features. Would buy again!.

When my Breville toaster oven’s fan stopped working, I was planning on getting another Breville. The one I wanted costs almost $400 so I was waiting for a sale. Then I saw BB&Y offer this on sale for 40% off.

I saw that it was in the “recommended” group by Consumer Reports. It didn’t offer all the functions of the Breville, but the price was too good to pass up. In addition, we have very little counter space, and this model, having the controls above the oven rather than next to it, would reclaim needed work space.

The first toast I made, set to the moderate position, came out too dark. When I baked my first recipe, I could see that it was done well before the timer automatically turned off the heat. I bought an oven thermometer at BB&Y and saw the temperature was 50 to 75 degrees higher than the dial’s setting.

I filled out a form on the Cuisinart website and received a very quick reply. I was told that toaster ovens initially go higher than the set temperature, but then cool down to the proper one. I was advised to give the oven lots of ventilation space.

I gave it more space, but that resulted in a small change in oven temperature. maybe 25 degrees lower. I also read quite a few reviews, on various websites, ranging from 1 to 5 stars. Many mentioned the high temperatures.

Many of the low ratings said that was the reason the oven was going to be returned. The high ratings, which also mentioned the high temperature, said that once you learn to adjust temperature settings and cooking times, the oven did a great job.

I have decided to follow the advice about adjusting recipes. The price was too good to ignore, we have more counter top work space, and the three year warranty beats most other manufacturers (unless you can afford the Wolf for $750!).

We love this oven; it is absolutely great at essentially everything. It heats up immediately, cooks amazingly fast. so you must not use the temps and times in standard recipes. If you don’t figure this out very soon, you will burn everything.

For example, my wife makes a delicious keto chicken in a deep 3 qt. oval casserole dish; we found we can angle the dish in this little oven and where the standard recipe calls for 425 deg. after preheating, we use 350 deg.

F no need to preheat in this Cuisinart and it cooks in (literally) about half the time (always confirming required internal temp via digital meat thermometer). In fact, it cooks everything we do at generally 350 or less AND in about half the time; this is compared to a newish higher-end large convection oven (loaded with induction cooktop, etc.

). We use the convection feature on this oven on most items; I’ve used broil also. You need to learn placement in the oven can change cooking times (e. g. lower rack vs. upper and type of dish). The supplied thin flat metal tray works well due to its low mass as compared to using a thick ribbed ceramic dish we have.

This may sound complicated, but it’s not. whatever you place in the oven has to also be heated so use low mass items where possible and make that your standard. We write down our receipe settings for repeatable dishes and it’s very consistent.

Warming foods works very well, especially if you are health conscious and try not to use a microwave as we do. Toast is great too. Air fry function makes perfect items that are hard to replicate without it.

Main point to remember here is the temps and times on standard recipes must be dramatically adjusted – this oven is so fast it’s almost like trying to use standard recipe times in a microwave. We should have purchased this oven long ago to almost completely eliminate the microwave and not heat up the large oven unnecessarily.

For about the 5th use, the grilled vegetables took on a chemical taste. It could have been due to the plastic/ rubber ends at each rod and/or the gray rubber strip around the door. It may have held up to the initial testing because it didn’t show up at first.

Now it would have failed the taste test. Chicken, pork and hamburger still taste okay with the right seasoning. I don’t know why it’s not working for the vegetables. There was one or two times the meat was tasting odd.

This was an impulse buy around November. I bought this one thinking it was stainless steel on the inside. There wasn’t a model available near the display. I just assumed that since there was nothing on the box to warn the consumer about plastic and rubber parts, it didn’t have them.

I saw one white something in the picture. Understanding dawned after I removed it from the box. I can’t return it to the store unless I drive the two or three states at the store I bought it from. Returning it by mailing under warranty is a waiting game I feel suspicious of.

By the way, the manual instructions are wrong. If you follow them, you’ll waste food, unless you decide to eat the carcinogenic burned offerings. I used 350 for everything. But tonight, I followed the package directions for the battered fish so that I wouldn’t make my house hot by using the oven.

I didn’t think it would be in there long enough to cause trouble. It hadn’t finished the cooking time before it had shrunk, burned and stunk up my house with smoke. We don’t have an exhaust fan in our kitchen to clear it out and I can’t leave the doors open with mosquitoes, frogs, lizards, and indoor pets to be careful with.

The other bad thing is that you can’t properly clean it. Those once white tabs are grease stained. I had been lining the tray with aluminum foil, but chicken and hamburger grease got underneath it and made a big mess.

It drips grease at the left corners onto the countertop. It should be outside but that would likely finish it off. I no longer think Cuisinart is a good company and I don’t trust their cheaply made products.
