20 Best Enclosures For Bearded Dragons (2023 Updated)

This is a very nice glass enclosure. I bought it for my rosy boa. I wanted her to have more room and this is nice and roomy. It was the easiest thing I put together. I was a little worried about the sturdiness at first, but once everything was put together I pushed it and wiggled it and everything stayed nicely in place.

So once it’s completely put together it’s just as sturdy as the smaller exo terra glass enclosures. The base comes already assembled and has silicone around the bottom. The directions were super easy to follow and all the glass was packaged securely.

I pulled on the top a bunch to make sure my snake wouldn’t be able to squeeze out in any spot and the top does not lift once it’s locked, which is better than exo terra top. I’m very happy with this enclosure and I highly recommend it.

Love love this cage! It is so hard to find pretty white reptile cages and this not only looks good but functions great! I love it and customer service is top notch. I like this so much I am ordering another one.

This summer our local tree frogs decided to lay their eggs in a pond that had been emptied (with some water remaining on the bottom) to move and set up elsewhere. The tadpoles put all that on hold. With an air stone and some tadpole food, we raised probably 100 tadpoles into froglets (and see them now as frogs).

I wanted to leave this as a natural space where I wouldn’t interfere and what would happen would happen, then tragedy struck midway through Spetember. Water creatures found the tadpole pond and screamed “buffet!”.

They would kill the tadpoles or maim them. It was horrifying. I’d fish out those creatures daily and assist the tadpoles and froglets that had lost a limb the night before. Long story short. one froglet with three legs must have recognized the convenience of having a human bring food.

She refused to leave and would climb onto my hand if it drew near. The need for a terrarium arose. On with the review: Arrived in perfect shape, easy to put together and looks and feels sturdy. Both the top and the side open for the safety of the froglet.

The water proof bottom supports a future water feature. I love this mini halogen lamp- it’s perfect for a froglet. She can choose to get closer or move away once I have some plants and vines inside. The little ceramic bowl that came as part of the kit, is also perfect and well made.

Adds a cute touch that is functional for a tree frog as is the styrofoam backing. She is climbing up and down like a champ already. Good exercise. The coconut fiber substrate is safe and easy to use.

When her human brings her food she can eat directly on the substrate with no digestive worries. Overall I’m highly satisfied. I agonized over this purchase because I didn’t want all of the added “stuff” thinking it just added to the price tag (which is excellent for this terrarium) but it turns out it is all well made and functional and provides a nice base from which to customize for the inhabitant.

Gave me a great introduction to the basics so I can take it from here and give her hideouts and water for humidity. Our 3-legged tree froglet will do well here her entire life and I fully expect this enclosure to be her castle for a lifetime.

She sure seems to feel comfortable here.

The terrarium itself is a great size and hold up well. Came in great condition and is water proof on the bottom and 5 inches up. Overall, terrarium is great. The starter kit however, is iffy. I didn’t use the coco substrate it came with because I had bought other substrate for my small crested gecko.

The light that came with it doesn’t work very well. I can’t set it on top of the mesh top because my crestie climbs and I don’t want to burn him, but I needed a light because I live in a cold region.

The mini blue day light is eh. If you need a good heat lamp, that is NOT it. The dual temp and hydro gauge also sucks. The gauge is quite a bit inaccurate and very finicky. There can be water droplets in my tank on the glass that the hydro meter will read 40% humidity but when there isn’t any moisture it says 60%.

The temperature gauge is also really hard to read because it is very small and has no lines in-between tens (aka only goes 60, 70, 80, etc. ) I need a temp gauge that is easier to read and also a bit more accurate.

The tank itself is excellent! Made a great little setup for some recently metamorphosed pacific chorus tree frogs. I didn’t use most of what came with it but will save for another setup another time for a different critter.

The mini dome lamp and halogen light weren’t needed so I went out and purchased a Zilla Mini Heat & UVB fixture for a Zilla Tropical Mini Compact Fluorescent Bulb (don’t need an overhead heat source for these guys).

The dish that came with it was TINY. Great for feeding, not for soaking. So I had to purchase a bigger dish for water. I also used a different substrate for my little tree frogs since I put a live plant in there as well as some live moss.

Still, very satisfied with the tank.

I will never spend hard-earned money on ANY Exoterra product again. Heed this warning, the company DOES NOT stand behind their products. I have had this terrarium for approximately a year. It was designed for dart frogs, which do not require an external heat source when room temperatures are steady between 72-75 degrees.

They first attempted to blame their issue on a heater, which I do not have, their opinion now is that the cracks don’t exist. I have hairline fractures and full crack on 2 of 4 sides and the bottom of the tank.

I have been in contact with the company for over a week trying to get the issue resolved. Needless to say, after a week of silence, my second response from the company was “ From the photos it looks more like scratches than actual cracks in the glass.

I am not sure if that is due to the stand underneath the tank causing the view to appear in that manner, or not. ” I have had to tear down a huge investment, rehome my beloved frogs, and am now left with a sad excuse for a tank.

I am disgusted!.

I bought this for my giant golden mantids and have had no complaints about it. This was one of my best purchases and I really wish they would restock these. I have been looking all over for another one for my other mantid.

The two openings make cleaning and caring my mantid so great. There just isn’t anything else close to as amazing on the market.

Assembly instructions could be better, but once you work it out, assembly is straight forward and easy. Cage is sturdy and very nice looking. A real step up from a fish tank with a cover. Locking front opening doors are really convenient for feeding and cleaning.

The snap on top fits securely and offers excellent ventilation. The bottom sits on legs making undercage heating easy. Excellent small to medium snake/lizard cage.

I was super nervous to order this tank, there was only one review and I was scared the tank would arrive broken. But I’m so glad I went through with it, it was so easy to set up, and looks so nice!! I absolutely highly recommend this tank for your pet! The brand alone is amazing!.

This thing is a cheap pile of junk. I ordered this for my chameleon about 5 months ago and I’ve had nothing but a headache. Not only did this tank arrive BENT, the back port for wires completely came off the screen and refused to go back on.

I resorted to taping it off so no crickets could escape. the mesh is cheap and loose, as well as will occasionally come out of the metal lining completely. Your money is better spent on a cage from a local reptile store anyways.

Don’t buy this tank.

I really liked it at first, I didn’t set lights on the screen because I’m always afraid of them burning or getting hot and emitting some toxic fumes. For about one minute, while I was setting up a structure that the basking light and small ceramic heating element could rest on without touching the screen and using the frame as resting spot I placed the small ceramic light fixture with the tiny 50watt ceramic element on top of the screen.

When I had the bars that would hold both fixtures fastened down with floral wire to the frame I placed the ceramic lighting fixture on the support bars I had just fastened down and the basking light next to it.

I turned on the dripper to make sure everything was still set correctly and now the screen was sagging down and the dripper water, instead of dropping into a fake Lilly as it had before the less then 1lb fixture and element had been set on the screen, was now pooling and showing just how much sag had been created.

That shouldn’t have happened and it wouldn’t have happened with the reptibreeze, I have the XL which is the flymsy version of the reptibreeze yet still much better screen and nothing has sagged ever.

I would probably buy the Large Zilla again for a baby Chameleon tho as it provides more heights and width then the Large Reptibreeze and he’s not ready to go into a XL Reptibreeze yet. I do like the electric cord pass through a lot and don’t understand why all the screen cages don’t have them.

I’m going to say I would recommend this cage to a friend but I’d defiantly show and tell my friend all the flymsyness I’ve encountered and the horrible latching system for the door, so an educated yes but the Large Reptibreeze would be a higher quality choice.

First, let me be clear – I GOT THIS FOR PLANTS. So keeping that in mind, I cannot tell you how well it serves as reptile enclosure. For plants however, it’s fantastic. I searched high and low for a decorative, large green house for plants.

Very expensive and very enclosed. Now while I understand why, this isn’t what I needed. I only wanted to keep the plants away from our new furry feline who thought thy were there for his amusement! Nothing seemed right until I found this.

Here’s what I did. I put a small expandable shelf on the bottom to set pots on. Then placed some outdoor, decorative, wipe away, place mats on the bottom to make it more attractive (and help with moisture).

Because of the opening in back you can run a plant light if you need to. I also used a mister to help water and because it looks amazing! My two plants in there are large and crawling, so I used the mesh to place little hooks and let them stretch out.

Now of course, kitty wants on top. and it’s mesh. so. I got some very sturdy faux brick siding and got it cut to the size of the top of the cage. See, the frame is sturdy enough for a 14lb cat, no problem, but naturally the mesh won’t hold.

or at least I’m not taking that chance. I have the mister and plant light on remote plug-ins so no reaching in and out of the cage all the time. Kitty can perch happily. Plants are still open air, but safe from attack.

Peace at last. Putting it together was also very easy. Instructions very clear, no issues. I will probably buy more for the same purpose.

This is a very basic starter kit. It has all the stuff you basically need for a JUVENILE bearded dragon. You will need something bigger in the long run so just be prepared, and that will happen quick for a bearded.

Has mostly good stuff. Don’t like heating pads, and don’t recommend cause they can burn your animal, so that is in a closet. A little pricey, but I got 25% off. I was just feeling lazy so I got this.

I also constructed 3 new habitats this week, one which I built from cut lumber.

Basic setup for a bearded dragon. There are other things that will be needed for a complete setup for a baby bearded dragon. The two things that I didn’t like about the kit is that the food dish isn’t live insect feeding friendly, and is too big.

The included food packets, which are basically a waste as they aren’t what a bearded dragon should be fed. Wish they would have put something useful in it’s place, like flower topper or vitamin supplement.

Other than that we are really happy with our purchase.

I received this kit for free using a classroom pet grant. I liked that the lighting fixtures came with it. I wished that instead of sand, it came with carpet. Very pricey, but equivalent to purchasing all items separately.

I most likely will not be buying again, as I will no longer need everything it came with.

Now I bought this item. NOW there are pro’s and con’s, pro’s big cage. con there’s little you really need to but much then what comes with it “well hidden”. Con the lights get to hot and melt the cage, even if you have it on appropriate.

NOW I don’t want to stir the pot just help. Perhaps they will take it off the shelf and take it off the shelf.

Recently purchased our little guy “Corona” and he seems to enjoy it. Has just about all you need. Only few things this 20 gal could use is an extra thermometer for the hot or cold side since it only has one and its a bit hard to read.

Also had to purchase a night time light and fixture. The log we got in our tank is very nice large. Temperature gets plenty warm for Corona. Now to find the right size background so he stops thinking there’s another dragon in there with him.

Also don’t impulse buy in store we got our 20 gal tank in store for 200ish$ but on line its 50ish$ cheaper. Coulda got the 40 gal tank for what we paid for the smaller tank in store.

I’ve been using this for my bearded dragon for a little over a year now so he’s basically grown up in it since he was about 4mo old. It’s a very nice terrarium for him, the locking door and side screens are great features and it’s easily carried by two people on each end.

I recently moved and the entire tank fit perfectly in the back seat of my Corolla without having to take the entire thing apart. The only thing I don’t really care for is the fact that the sliding doors rattle when I walk in front of the tank; I’m not sure if it’s because it’s sitting on top of a dresser or if I assembled something incorrectly but I made sure to follow the instructions as closely as I could manage (which were clear and easy to follow from what I remember).

I did find something of a fix by wedging the second key suction cup between the two doors so they don’t knock against each other and so far it’s manageable. Overall I do like this viv though!.

It was easy to put together. It looks almost exactly like I thought it would. The only thing I wish was included was little knobs to aid in opening the glass. But is an easy enough fix. I would recommend this tank.

We were lucky enough to get it on sale otherwise it would have been too expensive.

This is rad. Comes packaged really well. I was worried about it being damaged in transit, but it is double boxed, with extra styrofoam protection. Even comes with the white gloves in the video to assemble it so you don’t leave any finger prints on the glass.

Assembles easy, and is very sturdy. Super legit terrarium. Well worth the purchase.

This is a fantastic piece for all sorts of reptiles. It does come with both glass and mesh for the sides that are interchangeable with one another in the new knockout glass series. The bottom is watertight making cleanup a breeze.

This enclosure is best suited for arboreal geckos and small lizards definitely not for iguanas, tegus or even chameleons since they grow large and will have a weight your vines or braches won’t be able to support.

Again this will do great for small species such as cresties, day geckos, gargoyles and similar. Keep in mind screened enclosures don’t hold humidity and most of these reptile most of these reptiles need high humidity so you will need a misting system to mist at least three times a day or close the back and sides with a barrier such as waterproof cardboard.

This product is not suitable as a full-time terrarium for any desert species. Way too small. Please keep in mind that bearded dragons need upwards of 100 degrees F for a basking spot, and this just doesnt do it.

They are not arboreal and dont need space to climb upwards. Also not suitable for snakes. most species need at least three walls blacked out to feel safe.

The IguanArium is a great size,and is built durable. Very easy to assemble. My Hatchling looks lost in it, but seems very happy. Lots of room to roam around. When allowed to roam the house she makes her way back to the cage.

Humidity was a problem at first, but we purchased a warm mist humidifier which we placed inside the cage, under the basking shelf. It’s not ideal, but gives off 50% humidity. Can’t wait to take this outside, when the weather is warm enough.

awesome quality. even provide the grippy white gloves to safely hold onto glass panels as you put it together. directions nit that bad to follow. I admit, I didn’t realize I had to build my snake cage when I ordered it, but it was easy.

requires 2-3 people at one stage so the side glass panels don’t fall out and break. very happy. quick delivery in safe packaging.

Love these enclosures. They are so much more convenient than the full tank type. Biggest downside is disposing of the styrofoam but it’s completely worth it for the quality.

Very easy to setup, sturdy an overall well made product, it’s tempered glass, just in case you had any alterations in mind.

Definitely worth the money I think, especially for the type of material and if you have a large reptile, especially if it’s a snake. I took 1 star off just to be honest because there are a few things I have to say, but still a worthy purchase.

👍 First, a little background info. I have a an African Ball Python, she’s roughly 50″ and going on 6 years old. Before getting a new enclosure, she was in a 40 gallon glass enclosure, which was small for her, hard for me to keep clean, and it just didn’t seem right for her in general.

Her eating habits were 2 adult mice a month(live or thawed), sheds were sporadic, widely unpredictable, and was never a full shed due to the grates and it being difficult to retain humidity. Now though!? 😱 She’s almost a completely different snake, and for the better! She eats 1 mouse every weekend, she explores/destroys her enclosure nightly because she can fully stretch out.

I only have to turn on her humidifier occasionally, 2-3 times a week to keep it around 70%(which is what she likes)instead of leaving it on for hours every day. Obviously a HUGE improvement with this enclosure! 🥰😁👍 However, that being said, I was a little disappointed in the overall packaging(I know Alaska is far away), one of the aluminum supports had a dent and half of the pvc panels had the same corner edge curled/bent.

I know I’m nitpicking a little, but my $300 computer desk came in better packaging than this enclosure. Perhaps invest in more firm packing because it was mostly light duty packing material used and these pvc panels shipped together are awfully heavy.

Food for thought 🤷‍♂️ Also, you guys need a new camera for your assembly videos because those were pretty difficult to follow, not your fault, but I misplaced one of the pvc corners during installation and they dont come back out once they’re hammered in, so i had to jimmy rig one corner of the enclosure.

Lastly, I found a near identical enclosure from Custom Reptile Habitats that comes with rubber gaskets to fill the gaps in between the aluminum frames and the pvc panels and they also provide silicone tubes to further seal their enclosures.

Perhaps you guys could take notes for future development or upgrades? 🤷‍♂️ That’s the end of my nitpicking. I really do love it! Especially with the matching cabinet underneath it, it’s gorgeous! Everything functions wonderfully! Precious doesn’t complain at all ❤🥰👍 If you want better pictures later on, I’ll see what I can do, I’m not a photographer though.

This terrarium is perfect for our juvenile iguana. It was easy to put together and shipping was prompt.

Terrible purchase!! You’ll need to replace almost everything with bigger/better items and this is not an adequate size for a juvenile bearded dragon. I’ll admit I didn’t do my homework before purchasing and I bought this two weeks ago for our new juvenile bearded dragon.

They obviously are trying to take advantage of the under informed consumer. Basically the only thing it came with that we aren’t replacing is the food and water dish. 20 gallons isn’t big enough, the basking light bulb doesn’t get hot enough for basking, the UVB light does not emit the proper amount, the reptile carpet has been proven to harbor bacteria (you can find more info.

about this online), the food is worthless, the thermometer is worthless, the screen on top started to fall apart after one week of use. The under tank warmer it comes with isn’t necessary for a bearded dragon.

We did use the calcium powder. If I hadn’t thrown away the packaging, I would have tried to return it (I doubt they would have taken it back). This has been a huge waste of money. I have already purchased a new UVB light, new basking light bulb, new thermometers with humidity meter, new substrate, and will be getting a much larger tank next week.

Please learn from my mistake, do your homework, make the right purchases to begin with and save yourself a bunch of money!!.

The top lid is very brittle and one of the locking notches broke after the first week. I mean, its cheap so its kinda expected but overall, it should be okay. Other than the lid, the actual body is pretty solid.

I would recommend this for pets that you dont feed often like tarantulas or scorpions so you wont need to open and close the lid often. This is also perfect as a temporary or quarantine cage.

A lot more room for my two small hermit crabs. Fits a small coconut hut, food dish, water and salt water dish. And a small branch for climbing. Gives a good amount of depth for bedding. I bought a hermit crab habitat kit from petco, and that was a joke.

It left very little room for them to move around. This pen is MUCH better! Love it and i know they enjoy it as well.

Having an African Clawed Frog who requires more than just a fish tank this is perfect. He is able to swim around without bumping against anything and potentially hurting himself. Also he is clearly extremely happy.

Due to my complete satisfaction with his product I bought a second one though it was for a hermit crab this time.

This product is exactly what I wanted. Easy to put together and my Beardie loves it.

The terrarium arrived earlier then expected. It was super easy to put together. I love the front door lock feature making it very easy to open. My rankin dragon seems to like it and he has plenty of room.

I am so pleased with this tank. A must have! Easy to build and my leopard gecko loves the space. The dual doors makes it so much easier to clean and feed him.

I really like these tanks, but not quite loving them. They are very nice in size and visual appeal. Easy to put together, but can be just as easily messed up. I bought two tanks, one went together with no problem.

The second one, the top was not wanting to stay put. It kept constantly popping up from two corners. No matter how hard we pushed it down, it always kept popping back up in both corners. The substrate guard does not like to stay in place -my male ball python likes to crawl across it at night, and always knocks it over, so I have to pop it back up again every morning- but for bearded dragons or smaller type snakes, it wouldn’t be much of a hassle.

Both of the glue bottles for the door guards, where completely cemented over and unusable. The door locks are really neat, but I would recommend finding something different if you have a smaller snake like a corn.

The lock wire is very thin, easily broken, and it will let the doors be cracked open on either side that is big enough for a small snake -like a corn- or gecko to squeeze through.

We purchased 2 meridians and I wish we had gone with the regular. The beginning of our trouble was shipping damage. Both enclosures arrived with bent frames and damaged tops. Customer service was amazig and immediately sent out replacement parts.

We assembled the one for our box turtle first and it still wasnt quite 100% perfect but I really couldnt wait anymore. The bottom back joint has a gap where the sides fold. We used a bio basin but I still have a worry in the back of my head about clean up crew escaping into my house.

This is where I wish we had gotten the originals. Overall it does look nice but when you look too close then you can see where parts of the frame are scuffed up and marked because of how it was packaged for shipping.

In all honesty we paid extra for something that ended up requiring more assembly rather than less. I have no idea how these will hold up if we should have to move them. Dont fall for the Easy Assembly Gimmick! Im about to silicone the crap out of the next one and try to forget about what I paid.
