The quality of Moonshine Fly Rods are beyond expectations. I bought a Vesper 4wt 9’ rod and what a rod it is. It is super light (2. 7 oz) and looks beautiful. When I first placed the order I went through Amazon.

Although the rod was not damaged, the case was torn open on one end. Since the box showed no signs of damage, I have to believe someone at amazing was careless. Nonetheless, I emailed the company and they told me to return it to Amazon for a refund.

I received my Drifter ll in the mail today and everything bwas perfect until I opened the box. Let me say it was packaged well, the box was good and no damage. When I opened it and took the rod case out I couldn’t open it because the zipper was missing, it was broke off and in the bottom of the box.

I had to pry the zipper open to get to the fly rod. As I’m putting it together the alignment dots are not true and that sucks but not by any means a deal breaker. I sent moonshine a email and they want me to send everything back.

I told them I’m perfectly fine with the rod as I’m going on a fishing trip but I have no problem sending the case back for a new one. They told me nope we don’t have extra cases. Really wanted to get the Creed reel to match but I don’t think I’m willing to spend $300.

00 and will look elsewhere. Sorry moonshine think ya lost another customer. Hope you make it right but if not that’s your loss.

I fish 100 plus days a year here in Colorado and other western states, I purchased this rod in early November of 2021- 5wt. 10′ Vesper paired with Lamson Liquid reel. This rod fishes extremely well, big dries, small dries, light and heavy nymph rigs, streamers with a sink tip etc.

I have multiple Sage, Loop and Thomas and Thomas rods and this particular set up compares very favorably with the above rods !!!! Just got done fishing it for a week on the Green in cold conditions. Casts effortlessly, 10′ gives wonderful line control and simple roll casting ability.

I took a while to decide on a jerkbait rod. I’m happy with this rod for the price. Balanced very well and has a very good action for jerkbaits. Only used it a couple time so far this spring but for as many times as I’ve thrown in so far I’ve had about a 50% ratio of catching a fish per casts.

I’ve used shallow suspending jerbaits with it so far I’m very pleased with the rod. The warranty is nice too knowing if it fails or something it will be replaced for a whole 5 years. It’s not the St.

Croix lifetime but for the price and quality of the rod I think it’s definitely a good buy. Only con I may see with it or what May make it better maybe would be if the handle were a little shorter.

It’s nice to have the leverage when casting but when using it to twitch the lure a little shorter may be better. I’m not sure how it compares to other “jerkbait†rods. This is the first technique specific rod I’ve purchased.

It’s definitely a nice looking and nice feeling rod with good sensitivity and action.

I bought a St. Croix Mojo Bass 6’10” ML XF spinning rod late last year at F&S to add to my arsenal of St. Croix spinning rods. Although the rod is branded as a dropshot/finesse rod, I’ve found it to be extremely versatile and use it for crankbaits, ned rigs, drifting soft plastic swimbaits, topwater lures, in-line spinners, and various other types of lures, in pursuit of smallmouth bass and striped bass in Pickwick Lake on the Tennessee River.

This rod is sensitive, light, strong, very reasonably priced, and is almost the perfect spinning rod. I will likely buy another rod exactly like this one to quickly switch to when I break off a lure while fishing.

The use of the SCIII graphite blank on this rod has made it extremely sensitive to the light pickups when they aren’t aggressively biting. Great job, St. Croix!!!.

I have been fishing competitively for many years, This rod is extremely sensitive, you can feel every rock, every stump, and even the subtlest bites. While it has plenty of sensitivity, it still has an extremely tough backbone.

I caught my PB about a week ago that was 10 lbs and 4 ounces, I caught this bass in deep grass and had to pull it out, this rod pulled that bass out of the cover and still held together like a jewel.

Im rocking the 7’1 Medium heavy rod paired with my lews pro ti. I recommend this rod to any serious angler who wants to throw just about any bait and catch big fish!.

First let me say “I have been fishing for decades” and if you have ever used one of these, you would instantly know the rod is perfect for small pan fish species and will haul in slabs of 2+lbs if need be.

A chunky. 75 lb fish is no match for these rods if fished as intended. Almost any modern rod with the newly designed carbon high modulus systems is subject to crack if high sticked or bounced around snapping snags and whipping against another object like a tree limb.

As winter dawned on the northeast US, I wanted a rod that was light enough for the target species (crappie, trout, etc. ) but could also handle the larger predators that roam around (such as pickerel and walleye) and still have a blast.

I noted that the pan fish series had a fresh redesign and I had to get my hands on one of their rods. I ended up ordering the 6. 4″ 1pc rod to have it paired with a daiwa legalis 1000 I had laying around.

When I got the rod, I was very pleased with the secure reel seat and the split grip handle, as well as the choice of guides that is perfect for mono or flouro. The sensitivity of the blank is very good, the action is well tuned and the parabolic bend is to my liking.

I first used simple tackle like jig heads and night crawlers, or a simple hook and split shot method, and I was very pleased to sense the lethargic bites of multiple panfish, but I was incredibly surprised with how it stayed in control of a surprise sizeable largemouth bass! This was also fantastic with inline spinners and small plastics, in which I had a great brown trout trip right before the deep freeze occurred.

Overall I am very content with the quality put into this rod at this price point. Im sure that this rod will excell in jigging techniques for early spring fishing for the fine fare panfish. I am happy to have this in the arsenal and cant wait to use it off the kayak.

Thus far outstanding rod. I also have one other St Croix. Also bought 1 for father in law. Father in Law broke his tip. St Croix replaced without any hassle. As far as sensitivity. You can feel your minnow fart.

This rod has amazing accuracy when casting from a kayak. It’s able to cast baits throughout its weight range a respectable distance. I’ve had next to no backslashes while casting 1/4 ounce lures in breezy conditions.

Without tightening up the reel. Low profile reels sit well in the reel seat for palming them. Gives the rod a sleek design. The rod is light and balanced. I have experienced very little fatigue fishing with it for 6 hours.

Very sensitive feedback with jigs and crankbaits. First catch was an 18inch bass. This is an amazing and versatile rod for kayak fishing.

I have 9 of the mojo cat rods. They are super sensitive and powerful with each model spot on to specifications. I have these in every weight range. I love them. I’m 60 and have owned and used every major manufacturer rods.

Purchased this last spring, 7’6″ MH F. I have this teamed with a Lew’s Pro TI 7. 5:1 with 50 lb. braid. It is great for throwing big swim baits a mile. I also use it for some flipping, frogging (lighter cover, use a 7’0″ St.

Croix Premier H F for the heavy stuff and punching). I fish from a Kayak, so this rod is really set up for this type of fishing. I just purchased the 7′ spinning rod and would buy the 7. 0 baitcaster, but Bass Pro only has the medium and I currently have 2 good crankbait rods.

The Berkley BIG GAME Power Series was my own very 1st fishing pole waay back when I was about 10-12 years old (born in 1991) and I remember my very 1st “Big Fish” I caught with it. I was at Lake Calhoun (now renamed Bde Mak Sa) in Minneapolis, Minnesota and my Dad dropped me and my older brother Raphael off at one of the docks on the lake so we could fish.

My brother was catching small pan fish (bluegill, crappie) LEFT 2 RIGHT! Me on the other hand, I was fishing for “The Big Fish. ” And I took with me that day a New fishing lure I got because I REALLY liked it because it was so bright and it was the perfect spoon lure for me to use (I loved to throw spoon lures during my younger years because of how easy they were to use and fish would hit em) it was a bright vibrant lime green 3 1/2 to 4 inch spoon lure with black spots on the lime green side with a shiny silver back.

I WAS LITERALLY CASTING AND RETRIEVING THIS LURE OUT FAR AND BACK FOR 2 HOURS STRAIGHT! My arms were getting exhausted, I was exhausted. I needed a break. I climbed down from standing up on the corner of the dock for so long walked around and got back up on the same corner of the dock sitting on the edge just dropping my lime green spoon lure to the bottom of the lake (over 25 feet deep I think) on the drop off and just letting it hit the bottom and then reeling it up out of boredom and loss confidence and loss of belief that there were any big fish in these waters (LOL!) I reeled up my lime green lure and my pole flexed hard! I pulled a little and reeled up and caught long strands of seaweed.

Dropped the line. Hit bottom. Reeled up seaweed. Dropped the line. Hit bottom. Reeled up. my pole flexes again. “Probably more seaweed” I said to myself. So I reel up and my pole starts twitching back “Do I?” “-Do I have a fish?” I lean over the edge of the dock and I stare deep down into the dark water and I see a silver side flipping wildly around down from the deep dark water.

I yell to my brother “RAFFI! I GOT A FISH! I GOT ONE!” He comes running over from the other end of the dock and we together pull out a 36 inch Tiger Muskie! My “biggest fish ever!” LOL! That Muskie’s color tiger pattern was so silver shiny and beautiful looking we strung it up to the dock and we waited to be picked up from my brothers mom (we aren’t related by blood but we grew up together so that’s my brother) and I called my Dad so I could show him my catch and make him proud.

He arrives after 30 to 45 minutes he was working on one of his rental properties. “Well, that’s a nice fish ya caught there son. ” (Pops is used to catching 40, 42, 43 inch Muskie) I was just hoping I could impress him and fish like him when I got older and I thought this was a good start! We took our photos of us and my “big fish” I caught, people were gathering looking, staring at me this young boy and getting a close look at this 36 inch Tiger Muskie I caught as I am holding it for more photos (which my Dad still has to this day) the rain slowly started drizzling on that cloudy overcast day so we released it.

Funny thing another guy and his little boy came after we released that Muskie (that Muskie was drained of energy but still swam off and lived) and they didn’t know we just released it and he was telling his son “Look! There’s a fish try to catch it.

S. When we moved years ago that rod was lost. Over a Decade later I re-purchased a Berkley BIG GAME Power Series from Wal-Mart (about $25. 00) just because of that experience years ago from my 1st “BIG” fishing pole.

I fish with it, and the Memory Lives On!.

I’ve got plenty of crappie combo’s and a few light catfish combo’s. I need a rod for behind the dam and point fishing. I bought a Mitchell 301 salt water reel and I needed something to put it on. The reel is in really great condition being over 50 years old.

I’d been lookin at this rod for awhile, but never had anything to put on it. A pvc for a rod holder should do the trick. If the rod breaks, I’ll just get another. Think I re-enforce the section where it joins together with tape.

As far as the handle goes, I’ll leave it be. I’m thinkin bout 20lb test. I’ve got some baits in mind I’d like to try (mostly homemade) that I saw on YOUTUBE (muddy river carfishin), but with a twist.

This is the craziest rod you will ever buy for the price. My buddies and I use these for flathead catfish and never had a problem. I’ve seen my other friends expensive rods break but not this cheap thing.

Model: MSWC76HMF – I was looking for a quality boat rod to pair with my Tranx 500HG and this rod matches up well at a decent price point. I have only tried to test cast it at a local reservoir with a 4.

5oz lure into a strong wind and distance was excellent. It has the strong backbone for offshore species and enough tip sensitivity for jigging inshore. A friend bought this model and the MSWC76MHMF to test them for casting with the Tranx and found the HMF to be a better all around match.

Looking forward to some offshore hookups with this rod. Great warranty too!.

Great rod! The weight of this heavy rod felt super light in my hand. It was stiff but I was able to feel every bite. I used for rockfishing here in California coast outside the bay area. I paired it with a avet sxj.

Fished 200ft down and had no problem bringing up rockfish and a 16 oz weight.

St Croix is the only rod for me! I have several and each one is PERFECTLY matched for its task. You can spend more money (well, not a LOT more money, these aren’t “bargain priced!”) but you can’t get a better rod! Feel, fit, finish, durability, sensitivity (SENSITIVITY!) are all first in class.

If you can only own ONE rod, make it a St. Croix. Their warranty service is also the best in the business even if you break a rod in your car door. (Don’t.

This is a very nice rod. I’m currently using it for reds. The rod has a lot of backbone and just enough at the tip so that I can cast some lighter weight baits with fairly good accuracy. The rod is light weight and has allowed me to fish all day with little arm fatigue.

So far this rod has lived up to my expectations. I’m very pleased and if the rod preforms this well on a consistent basis, I will certainly purchase another.

I’m like everyone – throw the ‘ole Jackhammer all the time in Spring / Fall. Have rotated through rods for this application and finally landed here! The 7’4 MHM is truly perfect for Chatterbaitin’. Grabbed on last Spring, picked up another in Fall.

If you need a Chatterbait rod, you won’t find anything close at this price point!.

I purchased this rod for throwing deep diving crankbaits and it absolutely did the trick! The action is perfect for feeling that “thump” when dragging bottom with deep divers. Additionally, the rod has a great parabolic bend for keeping the fish pinned.

I 100% recommend if you’re in the market for a new cranking stick.

I mismatched this pole against my needs. I found it too light in power for boat 12 and 16oz weights, not to mention pulling up fish from 300 foot depths and flipping them over the rail. Now looking to sell and replace with a heavier model.

However, overall the pole is well built as would be expected from St Croix, with warranty, and eye appealing too in design. I like the pole, just doesn’t fit my needs (my fault). It has good handling, yet did not cast well at all, as expected from a boat-jig pole.

One drawback. I think it is a tad bit on the lighter side in terms of similar power ratings when put up against other pole brands. I would think this would make a great pole for shallow boat fishing or perhaps even trolling in shallower water with lighter jigs and bait.

I’ve fished for years with the more well known conventional rod brands. About two years ago I tried the St Croix Mojo light salt rods that I found at iCast and man I fell in love. So while replacing my existing conventional rods I thought I would give St Croix’s heavier rods a try and man was I happily surprised.

Super light weight with a solid medium heavy action and a great feel, very sensitive. I was a little gun-shy with the higher price than I’m accustomed to, but wow it didn’t disappoint.

I don’t think there’s a better rod you can get for twice the price of this one. Typical quality you’d expect from a Tsunami rod. Very capable of handling any fish I’d ever encounter in NJ inshore back bays and rivers.

I have a few five star rods because they are inexpensive enough to let the kids use them, but they’re not cheap junk that I wouldn’t want to use myself.

I bought this rod to pair with a Legalis 4000 real. This set up was my primary rod for casting lures in the surf. Great back bone and just an all around good rod. I am more than pleased with its perforce.

This will do the job. The 3 piece construction looks like it’s gonna hold up. The action seems s bit rubbery at 2oz. But, if you plan this as a having a fun afternoon or two on vacation with a packed up tight car, this will do.

The pieces stay put ok, the reel seat seems good. The guides are ok. The tip guide is brass. If this was a 2 piece rod, it would be like a 50 or 60 dollar one. I’ll define try use it for fishing after work, but more than am hour or two, I’ll be stuffing an airwave elite in there.

Strength and size would be fine for fluke, blues, or typical striper. I’d not want to cast much over 3oz or be jigging inlets from shore. Definitely more of a lure rod than a heavy pyramid weight thrower.

Howevwr, definitely better than a 7ft rod.

I wanted a dedicated frog rod so when Googan Squad had a sale recently, I jumped at the chance. The rod was shipped in a sturdy container. I immediately noticed how light this ‘heavy’ rod was. It’s a comfortable rod, designed with ergonomics in mind.

In use, it wasn’t nearly as stiff as I expected but that didn’t affect performance. I paired the rod with a Diawa Tatula spooled with 50 pound J-braid. I was able to land a couple 2-3 pound bass my first time out and the rod performed well.

I was able to walk the frog with ease and fight fish through heavy cover. An excellent choice for fisherman on a budget looking for a specialized rod that is way more versatile than the ‘muscle’ designation would suggest.

I waited a few weeks to test this rod out before writing this review, and I have been impressed so far! I had originally ordered it back in April during their spring 20% off sale but it apparently was lost in the shipping process.

Googan squad was great to work with throughout the process of figuring out where the first one went and eventually shipped me a new one for free and kept the same discount from when I originally ordered it once we determined the first one wasn’t going to be delivered.

I am using this rod as a wacky rig, drop shot, shaky head, ned rig, and occasional small crank or jerkbait rod (really an all purpose pond and creek rod). I’ve paired it up with a Lew’s Mach 2 reel and some 20 lb power pro braid, and it has performed well! It loads up great on the hookset and it is really cool to see the action of the rod bend at the point where it turns from green to black.

The handles also are a clean look and feel good in the hand. I’m not crazy knowledgable about actions and powers of rods but this feels more like a medium power, moderate fast or just a fast action (instead of a moderate action).

Which is not a huge deal unless you wanted to really use this as an ultralight panfish or trout rod. But the sensitivity and performance is definitely comparable to my St. Croix Triumph and Mojo Bass rods.

If I had to pick one thing I don’t like, it’s the location of the hook keeper. The keeper itself is great and you can slide worm hooks, jig hooks, or treble hooks on it. But because it is near the base of the rod handle, you end up holding the leader line that is tied to your bait in your hand as you walk with it.

Not a huge deal, but something to get used to. Overall this is a high quality rod at a great price that I’m glad I was able to pick up!.

I’ve only started using casting rods in the last year and boy, let me tell you, when you invest in a good quality rod, you notice it. The Muscle Casting Rod is the most comfortable rod I own. In my experience using it, it’s done everything it’s advertised to do and more.

It’s comfortable to use even on a kayak (and I’m not a big guy). The split handle is perfect for my homemade truck bed rod holder. Right out of the tube it feels like a quality product. And honestly the best part is the built in ruler on the side.

Just lay the rod down and place the fish on top, no more juggling a squirming fish while digging through your bag to find your ruler or tape measure. I can’t wait to fill the rest of my line up with Googan rods!.

Got the 10ft model just to play around with when I really want to just simplify my fishing. Ended up learning what a useful tool this is, helps you just drop into tight spots and hook up. Not the most well balanced thing around and it is pretty clunky, but for how inexpensive this is I can’t complain.

Pretty sensitive for what it is and had enough backbone for me to flip several slab crappie out of the water today. My only regret is not buying a longer one as 10ft actually is kind of short for it’s use.

These are going to be the go to gift for my fishing friends.

Using this 20’ crappie pole for a telescopic lightweight windsock pole. I use the windsock at my landing zone while paramotoring to check for wind direction. This pole is long, lightweight and portable.

Just received the B&M crappie rod and as other reviewers have stated, bottom plug was broken and very top piece fell out on the floor – EASY FIX. Sooooo, when you open the shipping container, have your FAVORITE tape handy and TAPE THE BOTTOM SHUT.

! Other than that it is appears sturdy and will work for what I intend it for, which has nothing to do with crappie fishing.

I wanted to like this rod. No, I wanted to love this rod. It looks amazing. The short rear portion of the handle makes casting from a kayak easier. The feel of the handle material would be fantastic – IF my hand actually held any of it.

So, here is the flaw: This is the first spinning rod I’ve owned where the reel seat’s tightening “nut” (the part that moves) is located at the bottom end of the seat, instead of the tip end. Why is this a problem? Because that means that I have a full finger (pinky in my case) is in contact with the threads – all the time.

So, I don’t actually get to hold that amazing feeling handle material. I know that some people prefer to have hand contact along the reel seat to they can feel the line better. I get that from my other rods without having to grasp threads, which is not only uncomfortable, it is a tactile distraction from feeling the rest of the rod and line with my index finger.

Well, ‘you could move your hand after casting”. Yes, I could. Or I could completely alter the way I hold the rod in the first place. And if this were an inexpensive rod, okay, maybe. But, when you pay for a rod this pricey.

Lastly, this rod is supposed to have a short end for kayakers – and by reversing the location of the moving nut to tighten the reel, they lost an opportunity to keep the rear end as short as possible.

So, this is my first, and my last ever, St. Croix rod. Really wish I could have tested this in a store beforehand, but literally no one in over a one hundred mile radius of me stocked it. Now. If you believe none of the above matters to you: Construction seems consistent with reputation St.

Croix carries (in other words, solid). I got the Medium/Fast rod and compared to my others I would say this feels more like a Medium-Hvy / Fast rod. So, overall a little stiffer than many other brands.

At the end of the day, even if you took away the massive design flaw from this thing, I still could not justify the price tag on this again compared to any other rod I use (all of which are less expensive).

I’m n?w to kayak fishing and when I saw this “Yak†spinning rod it seemed like a good idea so I purchased it. After fishing with it several times I feel that the rod itself could be used in any situation.

It does very well from the seated position in a kayak but this rod would work well for any fisherman standing in a boat, wading or on the bank. I’m am very IMO with the quality of the rod. This is my first St.

Croix rod and I have always heard this company made excellent fishing rods, now I know just how true that is. The blank is beautiful and the guides and handle are very high quality. I own several G Loomis casting and spinning rods , I my opinion the St.

Croix are equal in quality and dollar for dollar a better purchase.

I’ve bought a few kayak-specific rods from St. Croix and others, and the Mojo Yak rods are my favorite. They have a great smooth feel, not too unbalanced (easy to compensate for the shorter handle), and they have a sexy finish! Nice warranty seals the deal.

Broke bringing the lure down to the lure holder tab thingy. No I did not force it as I would risk hooking myself pretty bad if I had done that. The thing just snapped. Very lightly and without any real snap! sound.

Would have been nice if it at least clicked or something a bit more dramatic. But no. I’m a gloomis guy. Wanted a St. Croix because its what my dad uses and figured I’d give it a shot. I know I shouldn’t swear off an entire company but they put their name on that thing so that’s what they get.

I purchased 2 St. Croix Mojo Bass MJC71MHF Rods about 14 months ago, being retired they are used on an almost daily basis with no issues. Have landed a good number of fresh water hybrid Striped bass as well as black bass and lots of sand bass.

Rods are well balanced, excellent sensitivity, and substantial backbone. Have since added 4 more of these rods to my collection. Shipping was fast and rods were excellently packaged in a heavy duty shipping tube.

I have the 7’1 M fast. This rod is just amazing on the new scIII blanks. It blows away the older models on the scII blanks. I use this rod mostly for ned rigs, and lighter plastics. It performs better than any other rod I have for this task.

Also capable of fishing a variety of different baits with ease. Super light, tons of backbone if you get into some mondos and feels great in your hand for long comfortable days on the water. If you’re considering rods in the $100-$150 price range, this is the one to go with hands down.

I own multiple other brands and my st. croix beats all of them in this dollar range.

Solid rod. I have two of them one is a 7’4 medium heavy fast and the other is a 7’7 flippin stick. Both perform well. Love the length of the handles also. Very sensitive and never gave me any problems since I bought them new.

Pulled in my first LM at 4.5 pounds rod was sensitive and had amazing parabolic bend. had enough back bone to horse it out of pads with a swim jig! Will not be my last Favorite purchase

Wanted a medium light action rod for crappies and trout fishing. Been looking for a while and decided to get this one. Handle feels great. Performed flawless. Love the action. Very sensitive and rod is very light.

Pair it with shimano sedona 2500. Good balance.

Very light and powerful for a 7’6” rod. It is also quite sensitive. Cast light lures a long way. The only thing I do not like is being fixed today. The hook keeper is small and in a not so handy place.

I am having a traditional hook keeper installed right where there is a foil sticker is above the handle. I notice many rods are now coming through with “improved hook keepers which I do not think are an improvement at all.

The rod is great and I would highly recommend it. I am using it for smallmouth but it will also be great for casting for hickory shad from shore in the Spring.

I bought the Zodias MH 7′ to replace a broken Shimano Cumara. Initially I didn’t expect anything to match the perfection of the Cumara. BUT. this rod is a very very wothy successor to that rod. The looks of this rod alone are MIND BLOWING.

Top that off with the weight and the fact that this blank is the most “Crisp” feel to a rod I have ever touched. Super rigid without being overpowering. I can’t really explain the feel of this rod, you would have to touch it.

I put a Shimano Scorpion on the rod and my goodness I look for excuses to use this thing. Get you one of these. SO WORTH THE MONEY!.

Overall the shimano zodias MH rod Is top top of the line when we talk about quality Just woww!!!!! Guys videos on YouTube dont do Justice at all. I was kinda like howabout if i don’t like it after unboxing guesss what ?!!! I was wrong !!!! Is way way hot and sexy on the hands.

Shimano TDR Downrigger Trolling Rod – 9ft Heavy. I have caught more than 7 striped bass at Meldahl Dam weighing 6lb or more. With a distance of more than 120 yards. Wonderful. I just ordered another 9’6″ trolling rod to spare.

The order arrived a day later, but in perfect condition. The Hart toro Spin Fast rod of 3. 00m and 20-60 gr of action certainly fulfills the expectations that I had put into it. I have caught good 1kg-2kg seabass and its blank and sensitive tip has helped me to fight them very easily and lifts the 1kg fish with power.

Without a doubt, I am very satisfied with the purchase of this product. I recommend it.

As I’ve said in a previous review, I love the range of Hart sea and freshwater fishing rod. I especially love their sleek design and casting ability with little effort. Although I haven’t tried this one out yet and won’t do so until the season reopens here, I have no doubt it will prove another great purchase.

I got the 7’6†3/8-13/4 rod for casting for snook and Redfish in south Florida as well as Spanish and pompano and even bonita from the panhandle piers. The rod does not disappoint. The rod is very light and balanced well with a 3000 Stradic.

Very light tip allows you to feel everything while the powerful butt let’s you control big fish. I even caught a 20# king salmon here in Michigan and the rod handled the fish easily. The rod does not feel as fast as the other Star rods but it cast lures farther with little effort.

I highly recommend the VPR rods!.

Star makes a darn tough rod. Very good components, Fuji guides, strong blanks. I think these are excellent rods, I use them mainly for inshore saltwater bay fishing. redfish, trout, stripers, flounder.

I have 2 Aerial Star Rods, one is a Medium, the other a Med/ Light. Medium is paired with a Lew’s CI300, and the M/L is paired with a Penn Spinfisher 2500. Great setups. Tough to beat this level of quality and price point.
