20 Best Enchantments For A Crossbow (2023 Updated)

I ordered a pack of these broadheads a couple weeks ago from Cabelas excited to try them out this deer season. When they finally delivered to my house I was very disappointed. The pack was mangled and had been taped shut.

The broadheads were rusted and looked like they been used. I’m thinking Cabelas sent me a pack that had been returned, so I contacted customer service, explained the situation, and got a new pack sent to my house.

That one is on Cabelas. When the new pack arrived I was even more disappointed. THESE BLADES ARE NOT SHARP. Like they are jokingly dull straight out the pack. My steak knives are sharper than these blades.

It would be highly unethical to shoot these broadheads at a live animal. I tried to post a video of my finger rubbing up and down them, but I’d have to post it to YouTube first and I’m not going through all that trouble.

This time the problem is on QAD. I may have just gotten a bad batch because supposedly QAD makes great products. Even if that’s the case, that means they’re inconsistent. I’m going to try a different brand.

Been shooting these for a couple of seasons now. Fly right with field points out past 50 yds and maybe 2 inches low beyond that (drag). All these guys that say they don’t fly well either have bows that aren’t tuned properly or are inducing torque.

Exodus 100 gr are killing machines. Took a 200lbs+ boar this weekend. The amount of blood that poured out of him was the craziest thing I’ve ever seen. He ran 10yds, stopped, and tipped over stone dead in less than 3 seconds.

Have been hunting with these broadheads for three years now. I’ve shot three elk and three whitetails with them. I have not had a bad experience yet, full pass through’s and all the broadheads are still in perfect condition.

The part I like the most about these broadheads is the ability to tune your bow with them. They are of such strong and precision material that my arrows with this broadheads screwed on the end spin like a top.

The quality of blades and the washer component are of amazing quality. Doubt I’ll use a different style of broadhead any time soon.

These broadheads always fly true for me and get the job done. No deer hit with them has ever gone very far. Two years ago, the 7 point buck that was coming across (would have been about 20 yds out) made a 90* turn at the last minute, causing me to pivot in my climbing tree stand with the cross bow.

He picked me up and I had to let fly, threading between two trees. It struck him far more forward in the should than I like (having been a traditional bow hunter), but my 370 FPS Centerpoint crossbow drove this head right through his shoulder and out the other side.

The arrow bounced off a rock wall, and the shaft and head still looked almost good enough to re use! The deer went 30 yds, stopped and dropped! I have full confidence in these heads, and love that there is no rubber band to deteriorate!.

Had a great opening morning using the 125gr Nap Spitfires on a 22″ carbon bolt. Shot with a Excalibur crossbow with lots of power. Hit a button buck at 18 yards and a doe at 25 yards within 2 minutes of each other.

The doe was a double lung shot. The arrow passed through and gently laid on the ground behind where she stood. She ran about 20 yards and dropped dead within 10 seconds. Very fast kill. I was amazed that there was a very insignificant blood trail–just a couple drops where it was struck and nothing until it dropped.

The button buck ran about 15 yards before dropping. The arrow struck his shoulder blade in a relatively thin section of the bone. The arrowhead penetrated perhaps 3 inches beyond the bone into the lung.

Just enough to kill, but a very lucky shot as the blades were mangled. I was disappointed in the penetration considering how close the shot was, the overall weight of the arrow and high speed of the recurve crossbow.

I typically use the Thunderhead 125s with which I likely would have gotten a clean pass through and lost the arrow into the ground behind the deer. My takeaway from this is that you really need a clean broadside shot with theses types of arrowheads.

Even though the arrow point is the same as the Thunderhead three blades, the energy loss from the expansion of the blades is very significant. They are clearly potent, but be extra careful to avoid shoulder blades and definitely pass on any straight down spine shots as the backbone and thick horizontal section of the upper ribs is likely too thick for effective penetration.

That said, a nice level double lung shot should produce a very fast kill with a lot of internal bleeding. I would also add that I can consistently hit 1 inch target circles at 25 yards when shooting from a table with my practice tips.

The Spitfires shoot with the exact same accuracy–very impressive. I know that if I ever miss, it’s 100% me and not the arrowhead at fault.

I bought these 100 gr broadheads to deer hunt with on my CenterPoint 370 Crossbow. I mated these with the Carbon Elite Mayhem bolts. I did not practice with these broadheads but I did practice with 100 gr field tips.

I was presented with a 8 point at 30-32 yards that turn broadside to me. The bolt went straight through and I was able to recover the bolt. The deer dropped 50 yards from where I hit it. 2 of the 3 mechanical blades extended.

This broadhead did massive damage. I was truly impressed. I would recommended these broadheads. Pictures are attached.

This particular Rage Hypodermic Broadhead is being discontinued. I was looking to stock up on some replacement blades but could find none. This 6-pack is a really good price so I picked these up instead.

In past shots on game this broadhead performed admirably. The broadhead storage case is not internally tight enough to keep the broadheads in their individual slot. They were banging into each other upon delivery.

A thin piece of additional styrofoam under the lid solved this problem. As I started out, once the blades are done, you’ll need to purchase new broadheads.

Have used mostly fixed broad heads over the years. Tried a different brand of mechanical and did not open leading to lost animal. Last year I tried Rage after a recommendation from a buddy. Have shot 2 mature Ohio bucks performed flawlessly and created an incredible wound.

After recovering my arrow from the deer I shot this year, my dad borrowed my equipment and shot a deer days later using the same broad head. Deer went about 30 yards. Amazing broad head, creates a huge wound channel, has opened every time, flies true and is durable.

I shot a good 8 point last year with the Rage Hypodermic and my crossbow with poor results. Took a 30 yard standing broadside shot and had the bolt hit a rib, take out 1 lung, deflect into the guts, and exited low.

The guts blocked the exit wound and I had a difficult time tracking this buck 250 yards to where he died with just spots of blood here and there. In 40 years of archery hunting and using the old style o ring Rage and other broadheads I’ve never experience such a deflection of the arrow.

Will not use them again.

I have just purchased the Titan Turbo M1 which from what I understand is pretty much the same as the Titan M1 but has a different paint job. My Turbo came with the Mossy Oak Breakup Country camo pattern along with ACUdraw Pro.

I am totally new to shooting and hunting with a crossbow, so I am very excited at age 60 to be introducing something totally new to the sport of hunting. I have yet to try shooting the crossbow but have completed my basic assembly and trying to put a little time into learning the ins and outs of proper operation.

Although the assembly was pretty basic, I did feel that the small Assembly Manual that came with the crossbow sure could have been written a little better. Being that this is something totally new to me and that I’m unfamiliar with the bow, there were far to many places in the instructions that state “if so equipped” or “on particular models” which left me sort of scratching my head as to whether it applied to me or not.

With a little bit of effort on TenPoint’s side, I feel that the instructions provided should be specifically tailored to the crossbow that was purchased so that you know exactly what applies to your assembly instruction instead of trying to guess whether it applies or not.

One item that I feel was a bit peculiar in the assembly was when attaching the bow assembly onto the stock assembly, the center set screw that is intended to serve as a Main Assembly Bolt’s Locking Setscrew sort of surprised me being that it is screwed down onto the threads of the Main Assembly Bolt.

In my mind, it would have been a much better option to have a set screw tightened down onto the shaft of the Stock Assembly. The Stock Assembly’s shaft could even have a small indentation so that it would actually lock the two assemblies together.

I worry a bit about fouling the threads of the Main Assembly Bolt which may make it a bit more difficult if ever removed. During the mounting of the Quiver’s Quick Disconnect Attachment, the threads of the Quivers Mounting Bracket were not tapped completely through the bracket and would not permit tightening the Quick Disconnect Attachment fully.

I added a small #10 washer under the head of the screws to allow tightening fully. I am currently feeling that I purchased a quality product and that I will enjoy putting it into operation for a bit of target practice and then taking it out into the field for deer hunting and possibly even turkey or other small game.

My below ratings are currently based on expectation!.

Hi, I am a rifle hunter and have been for 68 yrs. I have owned and used many different calibre of rifle in my time , and not to brag but have always harvested some really nice W. hitetail deer with them.

I am now going after number 50 and it is special to me. I decided to purchase a crossbow to make this hunt even more special. After a great deal of research I made a decision to purchase a TenPoint Crossbow and let me tell you folks who are debating on this brand.

Some people did try to steer me to other brands or to purchase a less powerful crossbow. As I said I am an experienced and successful hunter of large game for many years and I know what it takes to achieve this.

Safety is paramount anytime you have a weapon of any type in your hands. The good people at TenPoint understand this and not only do they have all of the normal features included that any crossbow may or should have , but they have gone well beyond that point just with the overall crossbow design little own their ACUSLIDE cocking and de-cocking system , or their ( DFI ) Dry – Fire -Inhibitor , and yes , even the scopes being as clear and accurate as they are must be included as a safety feature.

The balance of the Havoc RS440 to hold it has a really good feel , very comfortable. From the first time that I picked this crossbow up I had a very positive sensation. Ha. one that reminded me of picking up my favorite rifle! The power that is unleashed with every shot from the Havoc RS440 is only surpassed by a couple of the Havoc’s family members from TenPoint.

I took 3 shots where I purchased this crossbow. I almost had a Robin Hood on the 2nd shot, but I did shoot 3 Bulls Eyes. I still have to get used to this crossbow some more , but if you are an experienced hunter or recreational shooter I strongly recommend you purchase a TenPoint Crossbow.

You will not be disappointed. If I with my age and experience can master this and be very excited and confident with this crossbow , I believe that any person can. Confidence , Ability , and having the latest Technology made in my hands this coming Fall are things that are going to get me Whitetail number 50 ! I have been using 125 Thunderheads for 25 years. I find them to be an excellent broadhead in terms of uniformity, blade sharpness, ease of assembly, arrow flight and of course game killing ability. My hunting partner uses Muzzy broadheads.

We both shoot heavy bows (75-80 pounds) and heavy arrows. My Thunderhead arrows almost always result in pass through shots. His Muzzy fixed head arrows generally do not. He has wondered aloud several times about this over the years as to why my arrows always go through game and that his don’t.

I have had one blade break in all these years but it was because the buck did a 180 while the arrow was in flight and it struck him in the bridge of the nose half way through his turn move. The broadhead still did penetrated several inches of nasal bone, skull and killed the buck.

I will never change broadheads. They may be an old design but they work really well. Why re-invent the wheel? These broadheads are the “Gold Standard” of fixed blade broadheads and still reasonably priced.

I recommend these broadheads to anyone that asks.

I first started shooting a 125 Grain Thunderhead in 1985 and have taken to many Whitetails to remember. I will admit I tried several broadheads within this time period only because I was influenced by advertising and the hype from manufactures at Sporting shows.

The mechanical heads I tried did not pernitrate like I had expected, and a fixed blade competitor head that looked very similar to the Thuderhead never was as sharp. Now in 2021 I am done trying to re-invent the wheel.

In my personal opinion this is by far the best broadhead on the market.

I have used the Thunderhead 125’s on my compound bows for 30+ years, and they have never failed me of come apart upon impact. Every deer that I’ve shot with them had fallen within 50 yards and they leave a massive blood trail.

They fly straight and punch through bone easily. I’ll be using them on my new crossbow this year.

I tried many fixed blade heads after shooting swhackers for years. I love the durability and simplicity of the fixed blade heads, but Nothing flew as accurate as the low profile mechanicals, until I tried this broadheads.

I shoot a 550grain bolt out of my crossbow at about 350 ft/sec. I have 5 primary bolts that all fly true with field tips. I screwed on this head and there was no readjusting my scope. I consistently cut up 1” drafting dots at 40 yards WITH BROADHEADS.

Accuracy is everything. I cannot wait to hunt with these heads.

I’ve been using slick trick magnums for years and they have been an awesome broadhead. I needed some more for the hunting season and I headed in to my local BPS to pick up some more. I was disappointed, but optimistic when I learned BPS no longer carried the original version with carbon steel ferrule and only the new “SS Pro” Version wit a ferrule made of stainless steel.

Yes the original carbon steel version could have some rust stains if left wet, but they were so durable. Also the new “Pro SS” versions cost a handful of dollars more a package and contain 3 instead 4 broadheads in the original version.

The broadheads shot true and I was very happy to give them a try. My impression after using them harvest a medium sized central Florida Doe is disappointed in the durabilty, even the performance on the animal was very good.

The shot flew true and made a very lethal wound to the animal that was easily recovered, but the new stainless steel ferrule was trashed. The arrow passed through and got hung up on the vanes and and light fell to the ground as the animal fled.

The arrows was not shoot into the ground and the hardest thing is hit was the rib of a 90lb doe. The stainless steel ferrule was totally bent. The original version could shot through many animals and never had and issue.

I feel the stainless steel ferrules is much softer than the original carbon steel versions. I would like to see BPS start carrying the original again, it would be appreciated to have both options; I would chose the original Carbon Steel Ferrule every time.

Holy crap. The past two weekends I shot a doe and a small buck. The buck was a perfect double lung shot and left a great trail for 80 yards. The doe however was different. I had her quartering away slightly and hit my release.

Right after the shot she took a step back and the broadhead ended up severing the neck and left another killer trail and ran 150. Totally recommend this head. Both shots were clean pass throughs and I only pull 60.

Over the years using crossbows in Oklahoma wind and weather conditions. I’ve used a variety of bolts by different brands. I may try other models or brands when the opportunity arises in the future, but for now i have no complaints I plan to stick with headhunters.

I’m not replacing them as often as some other bolts I’ve used. I’m not saying they don’t need replaced at some point, they all do. Good enough grouping results in splintering or breakage in the field.

As it stands I’ve only had one of these snap off in a deer and four or five get split grouping in targets. But that’s ok, it happens. These bolts are excellent and at a good price and I would recommend them the anyone of any skill level.

The pictures added were the last day of the season just filling a tag and added meat to the freezer. The shot was about 45 yards in front of my tree stand, head on, he had his head down eating some clover.

always been an active archer, but age and elbow problems pushed me to crossbow. Bought a Gamecrusher and these bolts for deer hunting and target with these for past three years. still had my original dozen despite the amount of usage.

accuracy is always there. My wife (not a sports enthusiast) can drill bullseyes easily. Its now time to buy another dozen! a lot more affordable than some other expensive brands. only complaint is it is hard to find them in local stores or major retailer.

Not sure why the person said they don’t work with the Ghost 360!!! I have a Ghost 375 which shoots 385 fps and I have killed 2 – 8 pointers with them last year and 2 – 9 pointers with them this year all very big deer.

They are great bolts that group consistent everytime. I shoot them out to 70 yards. I could actually use them a 2nd time as long as the pass through doesn’t hit a rock or tree. Would recommend this to everybody.

I was sighting in my crossbow with field tips then switched to my NAP Killzone Crossbow mechanical broadheads to see where the actual broadhead impacted the target. The tiny nut on the small pin kept coming loose.

After a shot it did not matter if I pushed the arrow through the target to retrieve it or pulled it out. I basically lost the little nut on 3 broadheads. Once the nut comes all the way off, the pin can fall out and the blades fall to the ground.

I called the manufacturer, New Archery Products and they were not very helpful. Customer service said that these broadheads are not designed to be shot at targets therefore they are not warrantied and they will not offer a replacement.

I let the person know I was using a foam target that was intended for retractable broadheads but that did not seem to matter to him. I thought they would have been more interested in finding out why the nut was coming off the pin but that was not the case.

If the nut can untwist from the pin in a target it can probably do the same thing when it hits a deer.

I bought these and was excited to try them. I recently took a 20 yd broadside shot at a doe. The blades deployed in flight and i watched the arrow drop right under the deer for a clean miss. It was better than a wounded animal, but disappointing all the same.

That broadhead is now damaged and unusable. I’m going to give these one more chance before switching them out for fixed blades. (for reference: 30 lb dw, 29. 5 dl, 525gr total weight arrows).

I’m super disappointed in the NAP Killzone Cut-On-Contact broadheads. After nine years of bow hunting successfully with mechanical broadheads I decided to give these a try. I have a 31 inch draw length and pull 71 pounds.

I consistently hold a 1 ½” group at 20 yards with field points. I started the season hitting a nice buck low in the elbow (about 6 inch below from aiming point) which was never recovered. Then I had another buck late season at 18 yards on a completely calm morning and the easiest shot out of the stand.

The arrow passed through the bucks calves on both the front legs (8-10 inches low again). I made the mistake of assuming these broadheads flew like field points because all previous mechanicals I’ve shot have flown true.

I take the complete blame for wounding these deer. This broadhead, at 20 yards did not and would not fly true for me. It was consistently 6-8 inches from center bullseye on a target. My arrows are not under spined, in fact, I also tried heavier arrows and still the broadheads flew inconsistently.

Sure wishing I would’ve target shot with the broadheads earlier. My bow is a 2015 model and is completely tuned (bare shaft and paper tuned). I videoed both hunts, and I also shoot lighted knocks. I’ve attached a screenshot from my video in slow motion of the second deer, the lighted knock is a couple inches from disappearing through the first leg.

There is also a picture of the broadhead from the first deer next to a new one showing its lack of durability. After switching back to my previous brand, I took a nice doe at 40 yards. I won’t be going back to the NAP Killzone.

Okay this game so I’ve seen it on YouTube recently didn’t know it was a thing until I sign up for DKOldies and found the game so I figured buy it and play it check it out once I got it. I am very satisfied with this purchase and this game.

It is very fun especially a spin off of the legend of Zelda twilight princess. There’s a little challenge trying to rack up your high score in order to unlock more stages. Practice makes perfect so they say.

It is a short game nothing wrong with those games because it’s still fun has replay value and I like all the environments based off areas from twilight princess so I give it a 5/5 and the shipping was fast and easy game was in good condition when I got it.

Like pizza or a Reuben sandwich, the whole is greater than the sum of the parts with Link’s Crossbow. Fantastic artwork, ethereal music, a nice balance of stationary and moving targets — you are Link, and it’s easy to get lost in his world.

Even the sound effects and cues are perfect! I highly recommend this game — as timeless as Pac-Man or Pong — which offers a perfect blend of relaxation and excitement for young and old gamers alike.

Its a great bow for the money so far anyways. The limb mounting system is a little weird as it dose not lock the limb completely solid but two layers of duct tape around the limb was enough to solve that.

The ratings are confusing as its a 165# draw not 195# and the tag says 53 pounds of kinetic energy instead of 57 but also says it shoots 260fps with a 380 grain bolt wich is 57. it don’t really make a difference to me as it seems to have enough power.

It would drop an elk but I’d keep it within 40 yards but i wouldn’t hesitate shooting a deer at 60 with it. Probably the best budget recurve but not made in Florida which p me off. I had a recruit terrain and loved it, if you can find one its the best budget compound and Barnett’s customer service was excellent.

I bought this crossbow about 6 weeks ago. I’ve been to the range 3 times, I’ve had the bow shop (Wildcat Archery, Pooler Ga. ) take it apart , reinstall everything, and even had them shoot it. To no avail this crossbow has some sort of malfunction.

It will shoot On an even plane. The problem is it will inconsistently shoot right or left of the target. I bought new bolts, we even put the crossbow in a shooting vice and it will very seldom hit the target but more times it will shoot to the right or left of the target.

I thought it was me, but after the bow shop tried and could not get a consistent grouping. It’s determined the crossbow is worthless.

Followed the manufacturer’s directions for unloading the crossbow by pulling the arrow off the string while in the deer blind. The nock stayed behind in the trigger system, this happened on 2 consecutive hunting trips.

Decided to test my other arrows after getting home, another came out as well. 50% failure rate when 3 of 6 fail. Hope the bow and other Ravin products hold up better. Crossbow shoots great, but proprietary arrow failure is concerning and disappointing.

Ive got the bow. Every forum I’ve been on states that even the best alternative may do more harm then good. All non ravin bolts will void the warranty. These are spot on at 80 yards. The risk of using another brand is negated right there.

100 yard shots are cool but also risks an injury. I like these bolts. Con is price.

Good bolts. I have not had as single issue with the 12 bolts I have bought, except not being able to find them after a passthrough shot on an elk and a mule deer and a shot out target. I hope someone comes up with a less expensive lighted nock that fits the Ravin products.

I have lost 4 bolts that I could have possibly found if I had lighted nocks. I can’t see paying over twice the cost of bolt for a nock with such low reviews. Come on Ravin you can produce a better quality product in the USA for a cheaper price than this Chi— junk.

Anyone with English Ivy around the house can tell you that what once looked nice can become a menace. I have come to hate it. It is relentless and will cover your world. I have tried various products, including Roundup, with minimal success.

Crossbow is the first product that worked. Now I am reclaiming some lost ground.

The gallon jug was intact but there wasn’t any instructions. I looked on YouTube to get the mixing instructions. My son bought a jug from a farmers market and had a brochure that he copied and sent to me which was very helpful.

I haven’t used it yet because of the weather, but hopefully in the next 2 or 3 weeks.

The bolts are that of Black Eagle quality so no bad words to mention there because I religiously use them. The fact they used 2 inch Blazer vanes is beyond me. The are taller than most vanes and bottom out on the rail.

This is coming from trying on a Horton, Barnett, & Ten Point. After a call to Black Eagle two things where mentioned. They wont work on SOME crossbows, and I could fletch them with new vanes. Now since these are crossbow bolts you would assume that SOME which I covered most of the top owned crossbows to no avail.

Ill stick with the Black Eagle Executioners!!.

I shoot a Large 125 grain 4-fixed blade broad-head “Grizz-SlickTrick”. With the Black Eagle Zombie Slayer this makes for a very accurate/deadly combo for deer hunting!

Well I guess I should start by saying that these arrows are not just good but they are truly Premium far superior to the competition, great look great style and great price. It’s like taking gold tip and Easton and mutating them and then you have Black eagle.

QuikFletch instructions worked great & it was a lot of fun for my grandson to help me with. I fletched 6 arrows. I have a Tenpoint Maverick Crossbow, 185 lbs. All of them shot well, however when I went to pull out the 2nd arrow from the target the fletch came off the arrow.

I re-fletched the arrow using the same fletch & it happened again. So this time I used my heat blower that I use to attach shrink wrap to wires. This time it worked perfectly. I know that the water was boiling on both attempts.

I was impressed enough that I purchased 12 more for other target arrows I have. I would suggest that you use caution when removing arrows from target. I also shot a buck today & the arrow went clean through & stuck in the ground.

The fletch remained in perfect condition. I would defiantly recommend this item. Midland, Arkansas.

I’ve used these for the last couple years with great success. I prefer the 3-inch over the 2-inch for use with my compound bow for hunting Whitetail and turkeys. For me the 3-inch seems to fly better than 2 inch.

I’m not concerned about speed I am more concerned about kinetic energy , penetration and accuracy. The only downfall to these is that they do not last long target shooting. They do not hold up that well.

The ease of putting them on and taking off sort of makes up for that but I think they could be a little more durable. For that reason I can only give them a 4-star rating.

Easy to apply, conducive to good arrow flight and much cheaper than hiring out the re-fletching. They don’t curl like most plastic feathers and last longer than real feathers.

This is my first crossbow so I don’t have anything to compare it to but I can say I was honestly shocked at how powerful and accurate it is. I have not purchased a target block yet and was taking single shots at a homemade target made of thick layers of cardboard propped against the bank of a dirt road.

Once I had the scope dialed in I consistantly hit bullseye at 30 yards and cut the same hole the majority of the time shooting from a rest. I was never more than 1/2″ off the original hole. I was shooting the field tips it came with and it easily pierced about 8″ of rigid cardboard and buried itself into the bank each time.

This is a very powerful crossbow! I do not believe there is an animal alive this crossbow cannot put down with the correct broadhead. It is quiet, accurate, powerful and deadly. The only cons I can see are that it is not exactly light nor is it the easiest thing to cock.

But again I have nothing to compare it with. It is very manageable however and once I got my technique down i was able to cock it quickly every time. If it is in your budget you may wish to consider purchasing the cocking device.

I am considering adding it but it would really be more of a luxury than a necessity. Overall this is an amazing crossbow for the price and i highly recommend it for anyone that has an itch to own one.
