20 Best Elliptical Stair Stepper Combo (2023 Updated)

I am beyond pleased!! I just turned 43, have been working out & been in sports/dance since high school, & this little guy really exceeded my expectations, honestly. I just used it for the first time this morning for a good 47 minute workout, and it did NOT disappoint! The resistance, even at levels 2-3 are a decent challenge, so if you’re worried about whether or not you’re going to get a good cardio/full body workout out of this machine-please don’t.

I absolutely mustered up a great sweat!! I just moved to a small home in West Virginia from Chicago and really needed something to accommodate my living arrangements that I could count on at the same time.

I’m just overjoyed that I happened to stumble upon this company! Assembly was a breeze, and I love that I can wheel this machine easily from room to room! If you’re on the fence about purchasing this-please go for it! Smooth, EXTREMELY QUIET (the husband slept like a baby in just the next room), and gives a good workout.

I was concerned about making this purchase because I have had (two) prior faulty machines (not from Sunny) so I reached out with my concerns and heard back from a rep immediately. I was convinced based on the information provided that Sunny was a reputable company that stands behind its products and would make sure to make good on any faulty/damaged equipment.

Welp, I received the machine on 2/4/22, assembled it on 2/5/22 only to find the front stabilizer defective and unable to be secured to the machine, rendering it unsafe and unusable. I submitted a ticket with supporting pictures on 2/5 and have not heard a word back.

It’s been over a week and the machine is sitting unused, and there’s been zero resolution. What is frustrating is it only took minutes to get a response when inquiring to make the purchase but now that I have the machine and there’s an issue, I have not heard back.

Any company that will promote their products, tell you they stand behind them, then not even acknowledge when there’s an issue is not a company to make a purchase from.

The item arrived in a beat up box and one little plastic cover was broken. From the get go the left foot pedal slid off the railing. After contacting Sunny the made me send videos of the problem which I did, then sent video back with a “ fix” that didn’t work.

Then they sent me a new crank with a video explaining how to replace it. Never could get old crank out due to it probably being in there wonky in the first place, don’t know. When I contacted them again they wanted me to start all over and send another video of not being able to fix the crank, ignoring my request to to send me a partial refund or a new machine.

So I said I was done. I can use the machine as long as I stand on the outside of the left foot pedal. I like the machine itself but never got satisfaction with these issues from Sunny.

I just got this a week ago. Love it! Been using it at least 4 times now since then. My first home gym equipment and needed a space saver in my bonus room. This is absolutely perfect! It got really good reviews which is why I chose it as I’ve been deciding on this or a treadmill.

I’m so glad I decided to get this! I’ve sweated so much doing a great fast workout on this. It’s pretty stable being a light weight piece of equipment. Super easy to put together. Only 5 steps and the main base came together already.

Just had to have help carrying it upstairs. So far so great! I’d highly recommend. The tension on it definitely enhances how hard you wanna work out. I was pretty sore the first day I used it. Which is what I was hoping for!.

Okay 1st is was so easy to put together took about 45 minutes. I followed a video on YouTube. I found the instructions it came with to hard to read. It’s extremely quiet. I love the fact that you can download an app to track your progress.

There’s also YouTube videos for this specific machine to get you started and to challenge yourself. The one feature I have not figured out how to link or setup the Bluetooth to the app. Hopefully I will figure it out soon.

I did a short 20 minute workout to see how it felt i found it easy to use. It was easy on my joints very comfortableI I will update soon.

Just received my new stepper, and I’m very happy with it. It comes 90% assembled; all I had to do was add the handlebar and post, which took about 15 minutes. It’s sturdy but not too heavy, so it’s easy to move around, and it has a small footprint, roughly 19″ sq, making it great for small spaces.

The handlebar height can be adjusted, as can the step height but the step tension is fixed. It gets 4 stars because of that and because the handlebar post is a wee bit wobbly, especially when fully extended.

Fortunately, it’s very easy to balance on the stepper without holding onto the handles.

I was not impressed. Part of it was my fault though. I had trouble with balancing on it. I have had knee replacement on one knee and did not realize until I did some research that a stepper that turns is a no-no for me.

I have a recumbent bike from Sunny Health and Fitness and love it. I gave the stepper to someone.

What was l thinking?! Will never order from your company again! Steps should be higher so you can feel like you’ve been exercising. I don’t need a machine to take baby steps like with this gadget! WASTE OF MYMONEY! AND YOUR RETURN POLICY SUCKS!!!!.

I sit at my desk for several hours a day, and thought I’d try out one of the under-desk ellipticals I’d seen on the market. The Stamina InMotion had decent reviews, so I gave it a shot. Great price point, and was very easy to assemble.

It’s pretty low to the ground, but I couldn’t use mine in a regular seated position, because my knees would run into the bottom of my desk. Instead, I’ll either push the elliptical back so my legs are more horizontal, or pull the elliptical back so my knees clear the desk.

Neither are ideal postures, but it’s a fine workaround until I get some plastic raisers for my desk. It’s short stride length seems pretty easy at first, but I’ve been trying to use it a lot throughout the day, and you can really get a workout with this thing! I average around 1000 “calories” a day with it, but I’ve gotten as high as 2500 in one day, after which my legs were really sore.

Here are the pertinents: PROs: – Great way to burn some calories while you’re sitting at your desk. – Quiet (at least at first, see CONs for the full story) – I like that it can double as a seated or standing elliptical CONs – After a few days, mine developed a squeak somewhere in the main body of the unit.

I haven’t been using it as often (or wait until my cubicle mates are either not in the room or wearing headphones), but this has become a real annoyance. – Sometimes after using the elliptical for a while, my knee joints will start to feel kind of “raw”.

This may be a result of my desk being too low, and my having to sit in different postures to keep my knees from running into the desk Overall, I’m pretty happy with it. If I can fix the squeak and get some risers for my desk, I’ll consider this to be a really good buy!.

Overall this machine is exactly what the description says. Super easy to put together. Light enough to move around. But here are a few ideas/tips that you might want to think about: You will need to lean your weight forward a bit to keep the machine steady.

The wheel glide is very short so the foot movement is more like a stairstepper than an elliptical. If you have ankle issues, this probably is not for you. It does put stress on your ankles/feet. Maybe the Sunny will consider making this wheel glide longer so we can have a smoother glide! Can’t beat the price so if you think you will be happy, then go for it!.

This machine gives a pretty good work out. The handle bars are welcome as I was unsure if I would be able to steady myself without them. The handlebars are a bit wobbly even though everything is tightened.

It doesn’t take up too much space. It can be used seated or standing and forward or backward.

great machine, footplates are too close to front base had to shave off about 5 inches of footplates in the back and move entire footplate one hole back. much better now. hole back. much better now.

It’s fun to do. When ever I used to go to the gym this exercise is like you won’t feel tired so fast and also you will always burn more calories with this exercise. I faced problem while walking on treadmill.

This product is excellant for that person who wants to get a comfortable workout but not over the top gym addict. Easy to use and read monitors floorplan is small and fits in any room comfortably. When not sure what to get but like to walk this is perfect for those bad winter stuck in the house days.

Got it, assembled it and started using a week ago. Overall great. A little challenge for novice to assemble, but not impossible. Got into a wrong step. Called customer service and they are amazing. They made a video on how to fix my wrong step.

It is better than what I thought. A little sqeeky but that may be expected.

The unit is well constructed of powder coated steel, operates smoothly and does not wobble. Arrived well-packed, with hardware numbered to match assembly steps. 40 lb flywheel provides smooth exercise motion.

LED display is easy to see and program the workouts. Virtually silent operation, and can operate without electric power. Frame size allows you to stand up straight, and still reach both sets of grips.

I would buy this product again.

After spending a good chunk of the afternoon putting this together, it turns out that the left swing bar is loose to the point of distraction. I’m currently in contact with a Sunny rep who I believe is sending an extra washer, and we’ll see if that makes it less loose.

Hopefully it does, because the hex socket bolt is getting stripped due to the screwing & unscrewing. If this jerry-rig solution works, I’m more than happy to bump up my rating. Fingers crossed!!.

The distance counter is wildly inaccurate. I just did 45 minutes, and it told me I went more than 14 miles. I highly doubt I was on track to break a world record in my living room while barely breaking a sweat.

Otherwise, this does what it’s supposed to. It’s great for getting in a moderate workout while watching tv, and it’s nice to not have to go outside for a walk on a frigidly cold winter day. The timer and step counters seem reasonably accurate.

The wheels do squeak, but that doesn’t bother me. The instructions are right to recommend placing it on an exercise mat when you use it. It slides if you don’t.

I loved this product for several years. It kept me in shape. When my old one finally broke down, I of course decided to buy another. But after only 2 months of use the pedals became so stiff I can’t move them.

And it makes a horrible squeaking noise if I can get them to move. Unfortunately the return window is closed. I wish customer service would contact me so I could resolve this issue.

I have a bad back from surgeries and a fractured sacrum. This prevents me from strenuous exercise and prevents me from feeling secure in my balance. But I want to exercise, so this was a good option.

I was surprised to find how the Compact Elliptical Trainer offered me a reasonable workout, safely and with the ability to increase the difficulty as I progress. Good equipment, great quality.

I love the convenience of the Trainer. I use it everyday, twice each day for 45 minutes each session. I put it under my computer desk where I also have my entertainment center. When I watch a movie or read a book on Kindle, I exercise.

It’s exceptionally convenient; easy to put together (if I can do it, anyone can). I burn about 500 calories and do 5 miles in the 1-1/2 hour session (according to the health feature on my Apple Watch which is more accurate if it’s in the pant pocket).

There is one caveat: have a can of WD-40 on hand. My right pedal started squeeking–harshly–after two weeks. I oiled the pedal; it was great for 4 weeks and started squeeking again and so I oiled it again.

But that’s not a big deal. I can attest to the fact that it doesn’t exercise the same muscles as walking does. I have arthritis in my right hip, however, and can no longer walk long distances so this machine is perfect for me.

I purchased the NuStep T4R based on the reviews, as well as the design. It took a little longer to deliver due to Covid (8 weeks) but WORTH THE WAIT! John in sales was very knowledgeable and helpful in making my decision.

Scott was SO kind when he delivered the bike. As to why I needed this bike: I broke my tib/fib just above the ankle joint and also broke the fibula just below the knee joint. I was VERY athletic, playing volleyball and worked out, walking 3-4 miles 5x a week, did free weights and Pilates.

ALL of this changes in August of 2020. This bike allows me to work out again and does not cause pain to the injured leg. It’s helped me mentally, as well. Not being able to simply take a long walk plays havoc on the mind.

I am a firm believer in “you get what you pay for” and yes this may be a little pricey, BUT, it’s worth EVERY penny because of the benefits you receive. The flat pedals aid in my recovery and fitness as my dorsiflexion is limited.

Stop thinking and just purchase. You won’t regret it.

ed my t4 unit on Tuesday Jan. 11. The display did not work. It was an extremely cold day (0 degree) so I let it warm up overnight. no luck. Thinking it needed batteries. I removed the cover the batteries were There.

I replaced them with fresh ones. Still nothing on the display. Tried your website explained the problem and received no reply there or in my email. Next day tried the phone was told to check the batteries I said I did.

was told a repairman would contact me for an appointment. Iam still waiting have heard nothing. Being too old (82) and the unit being so expensive. I am seriously considering returning the unit and getting my money back.

So many positives about this machine. Firstly it doesn’t take up much space at all (my old traditional elliptical was annoying on this front!). It is sturdy and quiet when in use, the built in screen is easy to use and bright, the built in speakers sound great.

The only thing I don’t love (just like) is the built in fan which feels too close to my face but for a taller person (I’m 1. 62cm) it may not be an issue. The best best best thing about this machine is the 1 year free iFit membership.

As the machine connects to my Wi-Fi, i’ve been able to login and join trainers around the world to workout together. Right now I’m doing a walking tour of Turkey, and it’s like I’m literally walking the streets, the ruins, famous buildings, and my machine’s resistance adjusts automatically, and the trainer (real human) acts as a guide – I just follow on my machine.

Very motivating and educational! Now being a Hiit stepper with a bit of an elliptical movement, means this machine gets down to business. It’s manageable and gets easier as you adjust to the movement particularly as resistance increases, but each time I’ve used it, I’ve felt like I’ve gotten a solid workout.

Assembly is a little bit fiddly, but with some patience and a second person easy enough.

Great compact size and loads of features and fitness goals that will keep me and the family busy for years. Paid extra for installation and the guy was passionate and knowledgeable about the machine.

He provided lots of tips and recommended a spray to protect if from the outdoor elements. The electrical cord is very short so you may want to invest in a surge protector and extn cord. All in all i got this at a bargin and so far i have only managed to complete the warm up and once around the virtual track.

So JL have prompted me to write a review on my purchase. By way of background this is the 4th piece of fitness equipment that I have ordered on line from JL – previously 2 elliptical cross trainers and a waterrower.

This is a big heavy machine and the order confirmation was clear that this was a 2-man delivery. On the day of delivery a man and a woman accompanied the machine and the woman stood there with a clipboard while the man struggled to get the box of the back of the van – I hasten to add that the van did not have a ramp so the man had to carefully walk the box off the van – a precarious operation! It took over 3 days to assemble the machine – I work full time so only had evenings to do this – the instructions are clear and it has taken 2 trips to the tip to get rid of the packaging materials.

When I finally finished assembly there were 2 screws left over and having re-checked I have no idea where they were meant to go! Having been away on holiday then I have only really used the machine over the last two weeks.

There is a myriad of programmes and workouts – to be honest I just jump on and exercise as I can’t operate it past level 3 on the resistance (52 years old and reasonably fit). Also for that reason I haven’t subscribed to the i-fit programme either – there’s no point in my mind.

So in use when I am training it squeaks rather loudly – I’m 110kgs and exercise vigourously. When my wife uses it – she is lighter and slower – it doesn’t squeak as much. It is more ‘stepper’ than ‘cross-trainer’ and 30 minutes a day is more than enough for me.

I wanted to be happy with it. It was resonably priced and had the longest stride I could find after doing a lot of research on multiple sites. The one and only (big) problem is that the handles are loose.

No matter how hard I tightenen them, they just become loose again. I even had my husband tighten them, and nothing helps. The loose handles make the workout less enjoyable. They need more reinforcement at the connection with the peddles.

Now what do I do? I’m stuck with it. Perhaps the seller or mamufacturer could advise.

Assembly was required but it was fairly straightforward. The unit is SOLID with excellent materials (including hardware) and top notch workmanship. And this guy is SMOOTH and QUIET, QUIET, QUIET! I’ve got mine in the den and can use it while the rest of the family is watching TV.

My huffing and puffing is probably louder than the equipment. The console is better than expected but not completely intuitive. I had to read the manual carefully to understand the controls. Other reviewers have criticized the small number of programs but there are MORE than enough for me and besides there’s a manual mode.

It can store info for 4 users but more would be better (5 in my family). I would have liked them to include the chest strap monitor so I can keep hands on the handles without having to grab the pulse sensor.

I ordered a Polar T34 and hope that will work better. As advertised it has a very small footprint unlike some of the other bohemoths out there. And it’s less expensive, too. So I’m very happy with purchase and exceeds my expectations.

WOW!! We love using the elliptical. The gym in our community is still closed due to covid-19. We were lucky enough to click on the Diamondback site when they had a few ellipticals in stock. It is solid, and both of us are able to get a great workout– -all in the comfort of our den!! This was the right piece of equipment at the right time.

We paid someone from handyman. com to put it together as it would have taken us forever!! Highly recommend this elliptical!.

I barely used this machine because it took so long for someone to help put it together. I recently noticed the area that I am supposed to plug the machine into is missing. I was sent a video after emailing customer service.

My machine doesn’t work and all they did was send me a YouTube video on how I might be able to fix something I didn’t break. They requested my receipt, address, and pictures to send me a YouTube video.

I’m beyond upset that I barely used this machine and now it’s broke after 3 months of sitting in my home. Why would something like that just fall out somewhere?.

I researched ellipticals for months before purchasing. I wanted a sturdy, gym quality machine without spending a small fortune. This is an awesome machine! It’s quiet and smooth. Easy to assemble. My husband had it put together in 30-45 minutes with no problems.

I’ve used it everyday and love it! It’s only been two weeks, but so far, so good. I’m pleased with my purchase.

Bought this mostly due to the price and it is a solid piece of equipment that gets the job done. Not too fancy yet not cheap feeling either. Nice preset programs that give you a good workout. Easy to put together and sturdy.

I’m a large guy around 250 pounds so I needed something to hold me and this does the job. Highly recommend this product for those who want to invest in their health and not spend a ton of money.

I am a personal trainer and Pilates Instructor, but through the years I have taught everything and used just about every type of cardio equipment on the market. This is without a doubt my favorite. So right off the bat this is gym quality and it is not going to be cheap.

The intensity as well as the incline can be adjusted. You can choose preset programs or create your own on the manual level. I go back and forth between using the arm apparatus on the elliptical and using my own arms to generate intensity.

The machine is fairly quiet and it moves very smoothly. You can move the pedals forwards or backwards. I have had no trouble with my knees or hips using the Precor. If you are going to set it up in your own home, make sure the levels are properly adjusted.

I have used this machine in hotel gyms where they apparently just plugged it in and didn’t test the functions. This piece of equipment is by far the most popular cardio machine in our gym (large national upscale facilities) after the treadmills.

There is often a wait at prime time for the Precor EFX so I don’t know why they don’t get rid of some of the ellipticals that are rarely used and replace them with this. You can add a TV monitor right onto the machine, but at home you might just set it up in front of the TV.

I would recommend a service contract if you are purchasing it for your home. Performance But you have to do the work. I see people get on, go about 1 mile per hour while yaking on the phone. And I am not talking about deconditioned clients or new gym members.

Comfort I have had no knee or hip problems. Take the time to find the right levels Durability I think that in the gym the machines get abused. If you purchase one for home use it may not need servicing as often, Design I am a fairly small woman and I find the machine to be a good fit.

We have had our Precor EFX Elliptical Trainer for years and that machine is one of the most reliable and durable machines I have ever owned. It has gone through 4 moves, countless rearranging, and regular exercise use.

Our EFX is so useful and it is still going strong. As an exercise machine, the EFX delivers, it really does! I love working out in the comfort of my own home. The EFX offers various settings of programs to follow such as Cross Training, intervals to work the butt, Incline intervals, and custom programs.

Of course, you can just work out and do your own thing as you want to. You can select what incline and resistance you want. The resistance and incline are no joke! This machine is built to cater to people of all fitness levels.

You can do an easy work-out or a grueling one. It is all up to you. The EFX shows your time, calories burned, and strides taken. The calories burned seem overestimated, but many exercise machines do that as well.

The price is fairly high, but for a dependable machine it is worth it. It is also worth it for your health.

We had this elliptical in our apartment bedroom for a few years. It is a great home elliptical because it is a high quality, well-built piece of equipment. I recommend buying an elliptical mat to put under it to protect your floor.

This elliptical has good programs of varying degrees of difficulty so I could always change up my workout. I liked the computer interface because it was easy to use and you could start exercising quickly.

I liked how the pedals were comfortable and large. I liked how the stride was very smooth to run on. I liked the handle options of in front of you or the wider moving handles to mix my workout up. I got great workouts in on this elliptical and sweated just like I was at a gym.

Performance Machine is sturdy and I felt comfortable using it. Comfort I liked the big pedals and felt comfortable striding. Ease of Use I liked the fast start up but it’s easy to pick different programs too.

Durability Stayed nice for years with routine cleaning/dusting. Never had to repair it. Design It is large but the design is modern and looks new.

I enjoy using this product. I feel like I get a good workout but it’s not hard or painful on my joints. I recommend this for those who do not like to run on a treadmill and do things like that. I like it.

This is an excellent step mill. Very smooth and much cheaper than stairmaster. I’ve used it every day since May with no issues
