This book is really more Hilderbrand magic. If you love her as an author then this book is great. If you are not familiar with her work , she has strong flawed female characters and basically makes you like them flaws and all.
The only downside to her books is that it makes me wish I were rich enough to vacation and or own on Nantucket or the Vineyard. #Sweepstakes.

The Identicals by Elin Hilderbrand is an excellent read about twin sisters, who, of course, are totally opposite. Good story that holds your interest. I’ve read all of Elin’s books and this one is definitely a one of her better ones.

This was my first Hildebrand book and I immediately bought the sequel. At first it was a little hard to follow due to the fact that she doesn’t write in chapters, instead she tells the story from the different characters point of view and labels the “chapters” by the character’s names.
Once you get to know everyone though you will love it. It’s a page turner that I couldn’t put down. FYI, the sequel is just as good!.
I like to read a chapter a night, but I found myself reading chapter after chapter in this book, for two hours instead of the usual half hour to “wind down” in the late evening. Elin Hilderbrand really makes the reader feel as if they are right there, witnessing the story unfold.
and what a story it is! I look forward to reading the other two books in this trilogy soon.
This is a trilogy . Great read and hard to put down. Trying to space it out so I don’t read all three too quickly. I have a tendency to binge read and then disappointed that I’m done.

A great 👍 author and book. Great for historical fiction fans. A lighy airy book with a serious tone. Tiger is drafted to the army. The whole family is worried 😟 sick about tiger and his safety. A page turner from the beginning.
This is an awesome read. It’s a great story with tidbits of history, actual things that happened in 1969 (and there were so many!) woven into the story. It was a nostalgic, engaging and beautifully written story that kept me turning pages.
I am a baby boomer and this book appealed to me in everyway, reminding me of childhood experiences. I could not lay it down !! I miss the characters they became like friends as i progressed with the story.

I was not disappointed. I love the book covers with beaches on them or knitting or cooking things. This book is about Meredith and she’s fled New York as her husband is in prison for taking others money via stock market.
She calls on a friend that she’s not talked to in years and she picks her up and summers on the island. Strange things start happening: photos of her and not leaked to the press house smeared with words that rattle her and Connie.
They need to change things up so nobody knows she’s there so they can just live freely on a daily basis and not fret having to look over their shoulder all the time. Connie has a lot of obstacles to tackle and overcome since she lost her husband and she is doing them with help from Meredith.
They transform Meredith so they can start leaving the house. Book also reverts back to when they were growing up as teens. Meredith dated her brother. It’s been 5 years since Connie had a husband and now she’s just starting to date but brings Meredith along with her cuz she’s so insecure.
The story of how she met and other things that happened in her life are told and it makes sense another piece of the puzzle. There is also a detailed explanation as to why the name of the book is silver girl.
I didn’t see that coming but it is beautiful. The lawyers want her to tell them of names he used for animals nicknames places they traveled to slang words etc so they might be able to find the missing 10 million dollars that he’s not telling anyone where he hid it.
Detailed descriptions on the island view from inside the top of the lighthouse the water the boat make me wish summer was still here. traditional things to do are described. Their previous years where they traveled extensively through Europe and overseas.
She even looked through the box of photos she took with her to maybe find a clue as to where the money was? I like this book for a lot of reasons I like how there are just a handful of characters to keep track of but they lead such a very bountiful life.
Like the two different simultaneous stories going on that intertwine themselves to one another. I rate this a 5 out of 5.
Elin Hilderbrand is one of my favourite authors. Her stories are always set in Nantucket. This book is about a very wealthy woman who’s husband has just gone to prison for swindling many people out of billions of dollars with his ponzi schemes.
She is hounded by the press & her so called friends have turned their backs on her. She is forced to flee to the New England home of her childhood friend who she had lost contact with. This is a story of lfriendship , love & intrigue.
I purchased this book because I enjoy Elin Hilderbrands books. They make me want to move to Nantucket! As usual I couldn’t put the book down until I was finished. The storyline was relevant and her characters always seem so real, well rounded and likable.

It’s different than any of her other books. I enjoyed all the different characters in this restaurant, and their dynamics. I’ve worked in restaurants when I was younger, but this was a great perspective of this upscale restaurant.

I have read three novels by Elin Hilderbrand and have noticed that she uses similar terms in all of her books – over and over again. For instance, the phrase “poked her head” shows up a number of times in all her books – such as “she poked her head in the refrigerator”; or “poked her head behind the curtain”; or “poked her head in the kitchen”; or “poked her head through the door.
” To me, this type of writing becomes a distraction. Also, all three of the books I have read ended abruptly as though her agent was pushing her to finish writing and she just wrapped it up in two or three pages.
In fact, each time I finished the last paragraph of the three separate books, I sat there thinking, “this is it?” I felt very let down. Thirdly, the names she has chosen for many (not all, but many) of her characters are so contrived that sometimes I didn’t even know how to pronounce them, let alone believe anyone named their child that! Some were even borderline ridiculous! Besides these quirks (there were more, but not quite as bothersome), I would probably read more books by Hilderbrand.
The story lines are fairly interesting for a light read.

Elin Hilderbrand brings me home to NAntucket with every book. She writes about complicated relationships between women as friends and extended relationships. 28 summers made me cry. I was rooting for the protagonist to have it all and she did not.
She had short sweet moments for one weekend every month. Complex story but you can feel the wind and sense you feet in the sand before the undertow takes you away.
One of my favorite summer reads. This is the best Elin Hilderbrand book I’ve read so far. The premise was unique, and I loved the recaps at the beginning. Most of all, all the characters were amazing, and the character development was done so well.
It’s been a long time since a book made me emotional, but the last few pages were truly heartbreaking (not a spoiler, you find out what is going on in the prologue). This book was memorable and will definitely be one I will recommend to others.
I truly love all of Elin’s books. The stories and the characters yers just stay with me. This one however is my very favorite of her books-maybe all books. I’m the age of Mallory-the way each year was laid out by what we were talking about then made he feel like I was part of this story.
Definitely reading this again after I let my daughter read. The must read book of Summer 2021.

so far, love all books by Elin Hilderbrand. Have not started Winter Street series yet but I know I will not be disappointed! Hope to read as many of her books as possible. Books are like new so a truly good value.
The ‘name’ dropping is overdone. Too many references to designers, restaurants, styles, places. Relationships are unrealistic, (Ava is an idiot!) situations are unrealistic. Think I’ve outgrown Hilderbrand.
This author did not disappoint in her final in the series. Life should be appreciated everyday. I do not care for series books but this was a must-have. BAM mailed this book prior to the ship date. I was excited to rec’v it early.

This was a good book. It was very realistic and the all the characters were easy to relate to. It is about a family where the husband has died and how they are trying to carry on like normal. He died in a plane crash while helping a client (he was a lawyer) and the family takes the ladies son with them because right before the husband died he asked him to go on summer vacation with them.
All of them find theirselves and their place in life by the end of the book but it is a long hard journey.
This was my final book in the complete Elin Hilderbrand set. I always enjoy her books and this was no exception. It was not a 5 star as many other books she has, but very good. Elin has a knack in developing her characters and intertwining their lives to make it very interesting but not confusing.

If you have read and enjoyed Elin Hilderbrand’s other novels, you will enjoy this one. It’s not my favorite book she has written, but it made me long to visit the beach. It’s a light, mindless read and was a perfect antidote to a rainy afternoon.
It’s worth reading. I will definitely continue to look for Hilderbrand’s new offerings.

I loved all 3 books in this trilogy. It took me away from the real violence and hate in this world. I love BAM and like to look around and try new authors. I started out with one of Hilderbrand’s books and now have read lots of them.
I feel like I am right there with the characters. My husband is even reading them. I can’t believe it. I have found a new author totally different than what I usually read. Thank you BAM and thank you Elin Hilderbrand.
Arrival of the book was great. In fact, it came earlier than expected!!! After reading the first two books in the series, I had higher expectations for the third. Don’t get me wrong; it was ok. It just wasn’t as good as the others (especially the second).
In this book, a new character came out of nowhere and he didn’t add interest to the plot; in my opinion. I would recommend it, only if you read the first two books in the series.
This book was an absolute one turner. The way Elin weaves through each characters lives is truly talented. You will not be disappointed with this final book of the trilogy. Enjoy!!

This was the first Elin Hilderbrand book I read. just randomly picked it up one day and have since fallen in love with her style. With the setting in Nantucket and the way she uses the island almost as a character, I just want to pack and bag and head north.
I love the descriptive details, but yet don’t get bogged down in every shell found on land. The characters in the book were believable and visible in my mind’s eye. I just wanted to be there in their lives.
A great read, whether you are on a beach yourself or just waiting at the local car wash.

What a good book. I really enjoyed reading it so much and will keep my hard copy to read again in the future. I really enjoyed these odd characters. Gavin reminded me of the angel from “Good Omens” for some reason.
If you are from the area or even from New England, I think you will especially enjoy the specific names/locations you are probably familiar with. I loved that.
How Claire was not very concerned with her husband and children. I thought Jason was a great character to have in the story to be such a Caring father. He allowed the novel to take the turns it needed.
It was almost as if she didn’t care to be caught with lock by the end. I think Claire was very fortunate on how things turned out for her. I hate to be a negative nelly but I also think that the chandelier had to brake,to make or brake this story.
I have read all of Elin Hilderbrands and this is one of her best. The characters are well developed and the plot moves forward at a quick pace. Summer People captures the essence of Nantucket and gives readers an insightful look into the quality of the year round resdidents.
