Brine: In a large stockpot, combine spiced brine blend (use entire pouch of brine blend for turkeys 12-24 lbs. Use 1/2 of the pouch for turkeys less than 12 lbs) with 1 quart water and bring to a boil for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and add 1 gallon cold water. Refrigerate until chilled thoroughly. It must be room temperature or colder before pouring over the turkey. Place the turkey in the Gourmet Gobbler brine bag, and then in a roasting pan for added support. Pour liquid brine mixture over the bird. If necessary, add more cold water until the turkey is submerged. Refrigerate overnight – 12 to 16 hours for a 20-24 lb turkey. Remove turkey from bag & brine solution. Rinse the bird thoroughly, inside and out, to remove all brine solution and pat dry with paper towels. For best results, soak the brined bird for 20 minutes in cold water. Season: Drizzle 2-4 tbsp of olive oil over the surface of the turkey. Generously sprinkle the entire pouch of smoky peppercorn & herb rub over the outer skin of the bird and rub to distribute evenly. For deep fried turkey, do not season the outer skin. With fingers, loosen skin of bird and place turkey rub between skin and meat. Roast: Place brined and seasoned turkey in a roasting pan and tent with foil to prevent overbrowning. Roast at 325 degrees F for 4-1/2 to 5 hours. Times may vary by oven. Remove foil in the last hour of cooking to brown the chicken. Check for doneness. The internal temperature of thighs should be 165 degrees F. The thigh and drumstick meat should feel soft when pressed and juices should run clear, not pink. Remove turkey from oven. Place on cutting board. Tent cooked turkey with foil. Let stand for 20-30 minutes to allow juices to saturate the meat evenly. Carve and serve. For Grilling: When using either a gas grill or a charcoal grill, cook the turkey using the indirect heat method. With coals or burners on either side and a drip pan underneath the bird. For Deep Frying: After brining and rinsing, make sure turkey is completely dry, inside and out, before frying. Follow manufacturer’s instructions with the fryer.

Purchased it in 2014. The other day, Christmas Eve 2020 I found it going thru my spices. Both packets were still sealed. There was no weird smell of the ingredients so I decided to try it. Brined the turkey overnight.
It turned out great!!!! Was I taking a chance? Of course but I had to try it, besides we had a ham too.
I cannot recommend this product enough. We used it last Thanksgiving for the first time and I later regretted not buying two kits so I’d have one for Christmas not to mention my husband (who is not a lover of turkey) kept raving it was the best turkey he has ever had! He said if turkey had tasted like this he would have been eating it at the holidays.

Sweet and a little spice. You definitely get the honey notes coming through. You don’t “feel” the heat. After you eat for a bit, you get a slight tingly sensation on lips and back of throat. I love it on chicken, but plan to try some on ribs as well.
Watch your heat because the sugars will blacken. I have used on grill (indirect) and in smoker. Will definitely be picking up more.

I bought this awhile back used it on chicken wings that night. Expected a little bit of dust to create a crust and instead I got this wonderful melted coat of sweet heat when the juices dissolved the honey granules.
My son loved the stuff so much he poured some into a BBQ shaker and brought it to the table. We have been using it like this ever since for BBQ night. From experience we have been treating this as a two coat blend for meats when cooking because the stuff melts and thins out a bit if you’re cooking or grilling for long periods; so a second and final dusting as it sits at the end is highly recommended.
The heat is not at all what I was expecting but in a good way and quickly becomes addicting. I really like this for its versatility to give some heat and sweetness at the table without washing out the final result of the BBQ dish.
I am someone who likes greasy fries. I can’t go back to eating fries without this, particularly greasy ones where this blend will stick. It has just a hint of the chili. It has some parmesan but is not too cheesy.

I bought this expecting blackening seasoning. As soon as I opened the package I knew this was all wrong. The main ingredient in this is salt. Big, coarse salt grains. Then lots of pepper and garlic and some herbs.
Honestly, it tastes quite a lot like Montreal Steak Seasoning. It’s not terrible, but it’s zero percent what I expected with a name like “Blackened Seasoning” and it’s very, very salty. You’ve been warned!.

I am so happy I have found these! I have always taken tablet versions instead because the gummies aren’t normally veggie. The only issue is they taste SO good, I have to stop myself having more than 1 or two! I received the Spice Hunter Global Fusion Spicy Garlic Rub, as a free sample, from Sampler, in exchange for my honest review. I didn’t particularly care for this rub. It was a little too strong in garlic flavor for my liking.
I like garlic, but only on certain foods, so i guess you could say I’m a picky garlic eater. It wasn’t awful by any means. I could tell I may actually like the rub brand itself had I tried a different flavor, perhaps, but I can’t say for sure, or Used that same spicy garlic spice but just on a different food.
I just know there were hints of flavors here and there that I did enjoy. I would still recommend it to others because others may like it but I tried it on homemade marinated chicken tenderloins.

IšverstiShow in original languageI do more indoor BBQ than outdoor, and this stuff is the best! It is almost medium heat, but not overwhelming if you’re a tendermouth, with a nice balanced flavor. If you cut raw chicken into strips, and shake them/coat well with BBButtRub, slow bake, and you’ve got great buffalo fingers! I often finish them by baking for a few minutes on paper toweling, and it gets the excess grease out.
Next day, get ready for tasty chicken salad sammiches too. Now I made myself hungry.
