Sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner are products that do not contain sulfates. Sulfates are detergents that are commonly used in shampoos and other cleansing products to create a foaming action. However, sulfates can strip the natural oils from the hair, leaving it dry and brittle.
Sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner are gentler on the hair and can help to preserve its natural moisture.

I was in the process of growing my hair out after a hideous hair cut when I started using this shampoo & conditioner combo. I loved the ingredients and have heard and read all the great benefits of castor oil for scalp & hair.
I started using this combo in February of 2022. Straight away I noticed my hair softer & shinier so I kept using both shampoo & conditioner. I have naturally curly hair so I only wash twice a week, sometimes 3 depending on the condition of my scalp.
I started to notice after the first month of use, CLUMPS of hair falling out every time I’d wash my hair. At first I thought to myself ‘this is normal shedding because I’m using natural products’ which makes absolutely NO SENSE! I decided to switch up shampoo/conditioner & used a diff brand.
Since I stopped using the Shea Moisture Jamaican Castor Oil shampoo & conditioner, I have waayyyyy less hair loss when I wash my hair. My roommate didn’t want me throwing the bottles away so she started using the Shea Moisture Jamaican Castor Oil shampoo/conditioner and to her surprise she too complained of hair loss! I don’t know if the ingredients in the shampoo or conditioner were rancid but I will never purchase another Shea Moisture product again after that experience.
I believe the ingredients have changed since the birth of this shampoo & conditioner set. Either way it was a major fail for me.
It will will drench dry, damaged strands with the secret of Maui. This ultra-rich repairing blend with coconut oil, essence of tiare and bean extract helps to repair, soften and revive strands. Discover silky, soft island girl hair.
OGX’s collection of shampoo and conditioner has never been my favorite. In fact, after reading about the use of harmful chemical compounds in their original formula, I threw away the first products I had and stopped using it.
That was years ago and recently I received this Coconut Miracle Oil Shampoo and Conditioner from Home Tester Club for free in exchange for my honest review. The formula has changed and doesn’t seem to have anything in it that I wouldn’t use so I tested it and it is MUCH better, but still not my preferred hair cleansing system.
I could tell after using it for 2 weeks that my hair is stronger and shinier, which was surprising, however I do not like the way it makes my hair feel. I still feel that I need to follow up with a leave in conditioner because my hair is just not as soft as I would like.
I also really dislike the packaging. It is very difficult to squeeze product from the bottles. I gave four stars because my hair is absolutely healthier since using, but I probably wouldn’t recommend this to anyone with normal hair.
After shampooing and conditioning, and letting it air dry, I noticed that my hair became more frizzy than before. I assumed that I didn’t condition well so the next day I used the condition only. Left it for 1-2 minutes and let it dry as usual.
But it was still frizzy. The morning after my hair was tangled and frizzy. After a bad hair day, I changed shampoo and conditioner and got my hair back. I did not expect such results since Ogx uses all-natural ingredients.
But for me personally, this combo did not work for me. However, there are other people who actually like this product. At the end of the day, everybody has a different hair type and this review is not meant to yell “Ogx is bad” because it’s all about what works best with your hair type which it did not for me, unfortunately.
Get your hair ready for the good stuff with our sulfate-free shampoo. This gentle shampoo sets your hair up for the good stuff in your no-rinse conditioner. Our conditioners are just too good to rinse off, packed with active goodness to take care of your hair.
It’s a win-win: “No-rinse” means keeping the good stuff working in your locks all day, while saving water, which is good for the planet. How to use our gentle sulfate-free shampoo? You know how this goes, lather up and rinse out.
I’ve been eyeing this company for quite awhile and wanted to start new fresh hair care that had none of the sulfates and other stuff and this seemed like a great cheap start! However, I’ve been using it for a month and it has given me dandruff, scalp acne that is bleeding as we speak and makes my hair feel not satisfactory at all.
I do get those conditions occassionally, however, it has not been this bad to the point where I feel like if I use this shampoo longer then my scalp will be covered in blood and dandruff. The entire washing experience feels very meh, overtime as you wash it in your hair for some reason it feels like it disappears and all you’re doing is rubbing fragranted water onto your hair.
After you’re done, your hair just feels dry and wet at the same time leaving a uncomfortable feeling. My other shampoos tend to leave my hair looking decent the day after however, this shampoo makes my hair look oily the next day as if I haven’t washed my hair in weeks.
Not only have I followed the directions properly, but I even listened to other people who seemed to find the luck in this product making their hair looked fabulous. My honest opinion is that the customers have better directions than the company.
This seems like a great company with good ideas and potential but unfortunately, their products could not meet my satisfaction.
I really enjoy Good Stuff shampoo. First, it smells nice. It’s incredibly important that a shampoo has other characteristics as well, but if it doesn’t smell good, that’s a deal breaker for me. This smells clean, similar to that drugstore brand that starts with a “P” but not nearly as aggressive.
It’s a fresh scent in the shower, but it doesn’t linger overtly. Second, all the other good stuff about Good Stuff: Sulfate-free, but you still get a gentle lather; it’s dye-free, which is great for my sensitive scalp; and it’s paraben-free and vegan, for those who count that as important; and it’s a decent price.
My one worry is that some websites describe this product as “clarifying,” in which case, I’m interested to see what further daily use might look like with my thinning wavy colored hair.
When hair is damaged daily from heat styling to harmful weather conditions, it becomes hard to manage and rough to the touch. So, we’ve created this gentle cleanser that strengthens each strand’s core – repairing and softening weakened, extremely damaged hair.
Made with Almond Milk, Aloe Butter, plus vitamins and protein, this creamy formula renews hair’s vitality without weighing it down. Give your hair a dose of repair.
Usually I don’t have an issue with any shampoos or conditioners but I feel like this one really wrecked my hair. I had recently dyed my hair and wanted to try something more nourishing after I had finished the last of my go to.
For reference I have 2c/3a fine hair that’s normal to oily and after dying my hair the only noticeable difference was increased porosity and my ends were a bit dry and brittle but I chopped off a few inches of my hair shortly after.
After using this shampoo less than 8 times my hair was incredibly dry, frizzy, and brittle. I stopped using this product a month ago and I’m still trying to get my hair back to the point it was at before I used this shampoo and conditioner.
I’m sure this probably would work for some people because it has great reviews otherwise but I feel like it really accelerated the damage caused to my hair.

Okay let’s talk. OGX has been under fire because of DMDM hydantoin being in their products. It is no longer in their products. I recently just picked up the shampoo and conditioner from target and right after i heard about the ongoing lawsuit.
I checked the ingredients and they removed that particular one. Other than that I’ve always loved this shampoo and conditioner. It is a DEEP Cleansing shampoo. This product has sulfates and I’m natural but sulfates can be good or bad depending on the products and when i say this shampoo cleans my hair and leaves me with the feeling knowing my hair is deeply washed so no buildup will occur.
I love thick butters and creams for my 4c hair and this shampoo cleans my hair leaving it feeling moisturized at the same time but strong. Forever a staple for me.
To begin with, the shampoo has a very light dark purple color, and the foaming is rather weak; it takes a considerable quantity of product to make a foam for the entire head. a pleasant odor (in the conditioner, the smell is more obvious).
The perfume retention is pretty low; the aroma on the hair is gone within 3-4 hours after shampooing. Shampoo includes Biotin and Collagen, which help to strengthen and smooth hair. For smoother hair, I believe it is best to mix with conditioner from the same brand.
It has the ability to decrease hair loss, although it takes a long time to notice. I’m on my third bottle now, and I’m starting to notice a big reduction in my hair loss.

I bought this shampoo (and conditioner) from my local grocer earlier this week and yesterday I decided to give it a try for the first time. Even though it is sulfate free, it has a great foamy, easy to work with lather that was super easy to work through my thick hair.
Not only that, usually it takes me a really long time to rinse out my shampoo, this rinsed out completely in seconds. Before applying the conditioner to soften my hair my hair felt squeaky clean! After my hair dried, it was left soft and silky just as they claim it should.
The roots were not greasy and the ends weren’t dry and tangled. The scent is a light peppermint that is only detectable if you really go looking for it. This aspect of this product is great for me because I am extremely sensitive to strong smells.
It is light and refreshing and smells like those red and white striped round mints restaurants give out. Overall, this shampoo is my ride or die even though I’ve only used it once! It is one of those products that immediately after use you know if you like it or not.
I have thick, fine stranded, pin straight hair and I found amazing results. May I add, the price is completely worth what you get. For around 13 fluid ounces I paid $5. 99 (USD). This was a great deal for the quality of this product.
I found this a couple years ago in the store I work at and have used this ever since. I love the smell of mint and was looking for a shampoo that actually smells like mint. This hits it spot on. I have only recently found that OGX has body wash and will definitely be getting some when I run out of the stuff I’m using now.
I used to have oily hair and I had to buy this expensive brand out of salons in order to maintain my hair and I switched over to this when that brand no longer sold anywhere. Since I’ve been using this I never have a problem with oil.
My hair also has a lot more bounce to it and shines beautifully. This also makes my hair incredibly soft and silky. Sadly, I’ve grown used to the scent so I no longer notice the minty freshness I get when I use it.
But I do remember when I first switched how divine this smelled and knew that this is the shampoo and conditioner that I am always going to use.
I have had a hard time finding a shampoo/conditioner combo that works for me. I have an oily, itchy/flaky scalp but my ends are very dry from the bleaching and coloring that I have done in the past. I have always used sulfate based shampoos and like the clean feeling, and the one time I tried a sulfate-free shampoo it wasn’t a good experience.
I decided to give this shampoo a try since it has tea tree and peppermint which are both good for itchy scalp and maybe dandruff. I have to say this shampoo smells incredibly good, but the smell doesn’t linger too much after washing.
The shampoo does a good job of leaving my hair with that clean feel without stripping it. I have found that using this with a deeply hydrating conditioner has been the best way to go for my needs (I try not to apply to much conditioner to the roots since they tend to get oily fast).
My hair is now soft, shiny and bouncy like it hasn’t been in a long time. I also tried the extra-strength of this shampoo and didn’t like it so I’ll be sticking to this one.
I absolutely love this shampoo. I was looking for a new shampoo and decided to try this one since it has rosemary and peppermint (these are known to help with hair growth). This shampoo has an amazing minty/earthy scent that I absolutely love.
I like to leave it on for several minutes and massage my scalp with it as I clean my hair. I get a nice gentle tingle from the peppermint and rosemary. My hair is left feeling super clean when I’m done, but not stripped of moisture.
There’s also a decent amount of slip to it (not super slippery but enough to be able to run my fingers through and separate sections without causing tangles). My hair is left soft and shiny when I rinse it out.
I’m super happy I tried this shampoo and it will definitely be a repurchase for me! This is my first time trying something from the Mielle brand. I may check out other items from this collection!.

It makes my hair super soft and that’s a plus for me because I have very thin hair and it gets tangled easily ! The keratin and argan oil give a nice, mild conditioning quality to it. There’s that phase when washing it out that it has that ‘slick’ feel – there’s conditioners out there that leave your hair feeling slick no matter how freaking long you rinse it.
Hate that. Left with the flat mat of hair afterwards. And again, this is different. You rinse for a bit, yep, slick. But shortly thereafter, the slickness is gone – but there’s also not that ‘squeaky’ clean stripped feel.
Honey & Vitamin B formula is infused with hand-picked, sustainably sourced aloe, leaving your hair hydrated while also protecting your hair color. This sulfate-free shampoo nourishes dry hair, leaving it soft and smooth.
It’s also made with real botanicals endorsed by the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, a world-leading expert on plant science. Herbal Essences takes care to make sure these formulas are PETA-certified Cruelty-Free, paraben-free, colorant-free, mineral oil-free, and pH-balanced.
I bought this plus the shampoo for my husband. He used it twice and then noticed he had terrible hair loss. There was hair all over the collar of his shirt, a shocking amount. It had just fallen out of his head during the day.
He has a healthy scalp already but we got this to replace the shampoo he previously used that was full of sulfates. He stopped using it, but I decided to try it because I thought the shampoo was causing his hair loss and I was out of my wildly expensive Ouidad conditioner.
(I have curly hair and use lots of conditioner. ) I used this product 2 or 3 times only, and now more than a week after I used it for the last time, I’m experiencing frightening hair loss. As in I run my fingers through my hair one time to detangle it, and my hand comes away filled with 20-30 hairs.
The hair loss is all over my scalp, not just a specific area. I changed my pillowcase and started crying because of the amount of hair left on my pillow just from sleeping. I can’t wear my hair pulled back anymore because my scalp shows through the hair on my temples.
I had to buy an expensive hair and scalp serum from another company to help my hair grow back. Herbal Essences should absolutely not sell this product if it causes such massive hair loss. There’s no way this issue didn’t come up in testing.
I’ve never lost hair like this before even when I was massively stressed or sick with COVID. I feel ugly and am always worried about losing more hair now. I worked hard to care well for my hair and keep it healthy.
I have fairly long hair and it’s going to take at least 2 years to grow everything back to normal. Please don’t buy this product. Just because it happened to work for some people doesn’t mean it’s safe for you.
I read the reviews before I bought this and thought I wouldn’t be one of the people negatively affected by this product. I was so wrong, and now I’m paying for it.
I received this product as part of the BeautyCrew Review. What I really like about the Herbal Essences Argan oil of Morocco Conditioner is that it provides just the right amount of hydration to my hair without leaving it oily or weighing it down.
Argan oil is amazing and does wonders for your hair so I’ve always tried to use products with argan oil in them before, but some aren’t always as delicately balanced as this product. This conditioner worked so well for hydrating and nourishing my hair while also taming frizz and keeping hair shiny and soft.
The product is creamy and smells great. It lathers well, which helps to coat your whole hair in the product, ensuring that every bit is washed and clean. My hair and scalp feel clean yet hydrated and it doesn’t feel heavy on my hair.
My scalp is not flaky or dry. The argan and Morocco scent is beautiful not over powering. I will continue to use this product it’s definitely something my colour treated hair needed. I recommend pairing it with the shampoo for the extra hydration.
Usually Argan oil products are very expensive, so being able to purchase these for a reasonable price and the convenience of being at the local supermarket is great.
I was lucky enough to receive this product by beauty crew as a crew member for review, i would never know about this LIFESAVER for my hair if it wasn’t sent to me for review. Lucky enough to receive it right before my holiday travels so i carried it along with me, usually my hair gets damaged with all the traveling, dust change of climate and water.
Herbal Essences bio:renew Argan Oil of Morocco Conditioner came along with its shampoo and it became my lifesaver, my hair is thanking me for this product, after a few washes my hair felt healthy, moisturized and shiny, my hair has never been this way before even when i am hope.
the conditioner smoothes my hair with no frizzys and tangles. It smells so goo too. The fact that it is herbal makes me love the product even more as i know that there are no chemicals that will damage my hair in the future.
I highly recommend this product and recommend to use it with its matching shampoo for better results, i also recommend to use this product several times to start seeing the results. I couldnt thank review crew for making me discover this product for my lifeless hair, now my hair is healthy and easy to stlye too.
i used to dread my hair wash days but now i look forward to them. Yay!!.

I love this sulfate free color care system shampoo!! I use the moisture shampoo that hydrates. I love that it quenches my hair is dryness. It has anti-fade and UV filter with no harsh salts. I have color treated hair from the salon and I love this shampoo.
Hundred percent free of sulfates, Paraben free vegan formula and no gluten ingredients. Shampoo is thick and lathers well in the hair. I choose the moisture shampoo that has a rosemary fragrance. If you’re looking to try a sulfate free shampoo without spending a lot of money I would recommend trying this brand.
You can get at target, Walmart, CVS, Walgreens. Some stores you can even use coupons on so you get a bargain discount.
I absolutely love this shampoo! I always buy the set with the conditioner as well! Nothing really compares to this shampoo because they hit every mark! It definitely helps revised and protect hair color.
It must have tea tree oil or eucalyptus oil because it leaves a cooling, tingling sensation on my scalp which I love! It makes me feel extra clean! So I love using this when my hair feels extra dirty and I want that extra invigoration feeling when I get out the shower! I would definitely re purchase this product and I do often.
I would 10 out of 10 recommend this product to anyone who has colored hair and is looking for a shampoo that has fade-resistant and smells amazing, looks amazing, does everything you wanted to do for color treated hair! If you have color treated hair that is dry or over process or have split ends or dry scalp please try this product and you will not be disappointed.
To start off, I did receive this product from Influenster complimentary for testing. When I first got the box, I was BEYOND excited to try everything out and ended up using the shampoo and sheet mast on the day I received it, and the experience was amazingggg.
I actually ended up purchasing another sheet mask because my hair reacted so well to it. It left my locks feeling smooth and frizz free for about 36-48 hrs without any additional products. For the shampoo, I actually ended up using it for the full month of February in order to see how it would treat my hair long-term.
And being completely honest, I didn’t notice much of a difference compared to previous shampoos I’ve used (before receiving my complimentary products, I was using SheaMoisture. ) Before using the shampoo, my thoughts (expectations) were: “Please tame my baby hairs, please tame my baby hairs, please tame my baby hairs” because my baby hairs around my face go CRAZY.
Especially when it’s humid outside here in NY. Then, my first impression after using the shampoo was that it smelled good, which is super important to me. And again, after that first wash, I was extremely impressed.
But looking back, I believe that was because I had used the shampoo WITH the sheet mask. Afterwards, while just using the shampoo, I didn’t really notice any improvement regarding split ends and I didn’t notice my hair being as frizz free/smooth as the first time.
In L’oreal’s defense, I probably should have bought the correlating conditioner to use along with it, but since I had only received the shampoo and sheet mask, that’s all I wanted to review. Sometimes I would use the shampoo with my SheaMoisture (coconut and hibiscus) conditioner, and sometimes I didn’t use conditioner (just to see how the shampoo was on its own.
) Overall, I think the shampoo is great. It’s a vegan, sulfate-free, paraben-free, safer alternative to regular shampoos. It’s affordable, and it definitely does the job, leaving my hair feeling fresh and clean with no excess build up.
It lathers up really well, and a little goes quite a long way depending on how long your hair is. I rate the shampoo a 7/10, reason being that I would def buy it again if I ever need something that I can trust and that I know will do the job.
However, I’m deducting points because I wish it would help reduce frizz a bit better on its own. Again, in L’oreal’s defense, I think using the matching conditioner would help with frizz reduction completely.
I hope this helps anyone who was considering getting the shampoo! My family and I have been using L’oreal for longest time (especially their moisturizer) and I strongly believe their products are affordable, quality products.

I was completely surprised that this didn’t do for me what all the reviews I read said it would. I understand everyone’s hair is different but I read so many reviews raving about this that I had no doubt that this was going to be the best shampoo I’d ever tried.
Boy was I wrong. The first issue I had with this was that it didn’t latter do a degree that I am used to. I thought I was going to be able to work around this but without the latter I really didn’t feel as though it was cleaning my hair.
I started with one pump but that really only washed the top of my head- barely. Another pump for my hair (mid back length, curly) which lathered even less on the strands then my scalp. Using two pumps – sometimes three- really doesn’t bode well for the life of the product.
With that said problem two arose; this barely lasted a month and a half using it every other day. At 24$ a bottle it really isn’t realistic for me to keep purchasing when I was having no results and basically dumping it down the drain.
Results were really nonexistent, my hair was still frizzy and ultimately more dry than before I started using it. There was no real change in texture in the month I used it. There was no problem for me with the smell like some people had, it just smelled like salon shampoo.
Unfortunately I will not be purchasing this again, however I wouldn’t tell people to stay away as so many reviewers said that it did wonders for them so I imagine I’m just an off case. (As a disclaimer I did use this with the It’s a 10 conditioner so my problems weren’t conditioner based.
Literally the worst expensive shampoo I have ever used. It doesn’t lather that well, and it makes my hair feel tangled, heavy, and sticky after rinsing it out. I have tried shampooing twice in the shower, and it still makes my hair feel so darn heavy! What on earth is going on? The other It’s a 10 products I use are amazing.
I will not be buying this anymore. I don’t even want to finish the bottle. I have tried this for two weeks, and it sucks.
my daughter recommended this shampoo along with the conditioner. I was surprisingly disappointed. I of course thought right away that it would be effective based on the cost. Not at all, for starters I felt it made my hair more tangled and hard to manage which concerned me cause I already have course hair and figured how am I going to get out of this tangled mess.
The conditioner didn’t even help a bit and need I mention that when I tried to style my hair it was never ending. By the time I finished styling and drying my hair, my hair was so dried and brittle and even more course that when I started ugh!!! I learned that cost doesn’t mean efficiency at all.

It features an advanced formula designed to work with your body’s natural chemistry so as not to disturb your hair and scalp’s delicate pH or cause irritation. It gently removes dirt, excess oil and product build-up to leave your hair soft, clean and dandruff-free.
I’m a bit torn on this product, it’s still sitting in my shower and occasionally I’ll use it as a first step wash when my hair is particularly dirty or I have some scalp sensitive or build-up but it is definitely not my go to shampoo.
I have very long 2b/2c curls and waves and this is not hydrating when used on my lengths. In fact, I’ve found it to even be quite stripping of my moisture. However, I have not encountered any other product that makes my scalp feel quite as clean and happy as this shampoo does.
For that reason when I use this product I focus it on my scalp and roots and do my best to avoid my length and ends which unfortunately sometimes causes tangles, again I think because of the product’s drying effect on my hair, but this is the best way I’ve found to use it.
BUT I will say, I have VERY sensitive, reactive skin and had a bad skin reaction to a previous dandruff scalp I was using (my scalp is also very sensitive, I thought I had dandruff for forever but turns out I just have a dry, sensitive scalp) and my dermatologist recommended this brand to me.
So if you have very sensitive reactive skin and are looking for a shampoo that will make you feel clean and won’t irritate you, I’d recommend this for sure! Best of luck, I hope I was helpful!.
Pros: Great for fragrance sensitivity. It’s hard to find fragrance free shampoo readily available at Target. The skin on my chest and back stopped breaking out when I used this no conditioner. (Couldn’t find the matching conditioner for this one.
) Also my hair was not as flaky. Cons: I have dry hair and scalp. This left my hair feeling waxy in the shower (I don’t know how else to describe it) but when it dried it wasn’t too bad. I had a pixie cut so I didn’t really care at first.
Now that my hair is growing I need more moisture. Like I said I have dry, flaky scalp, and while the no fragrance helps, it’s still not moisturizing enough. When I implemented a conditioner the flakiness and waxy feeling went away (but I ended up breaking out again) Also it can be hard to lather at first, but you get used to it.
Overall I still liked it, going to buy a fragrance free conditioner so I can keep my hair moisturized.
Great for people with skin sensitivity. This does not make my skin itch and I noticed that my hair isn’t falling out in clumps when I wash my hair. I might lose all of 10 hairs after washing with this.
I tend to have oily skin and hair, this may be the difference between people who love this and those who don’t. If you have oily hair, this is an excellent choice. Some people have commented that it’s harsh on their hair, but that feeling lasts for only a few minutes right after rinsing.
I don’t use conditioner and this shampoo does NOT feel harsh after I brush out my hair. My hair brushes out super easy with this shampoo, just start with the bottom of your hair and brush your way up and you won’t have any problems at all.
Same formula, same results now fragrance-free! This sulfate-free, light lather formula will gently yet effectively cleanse your scalp & hair. Infused with the right amount of shea butter & moringa oil to leave your hair feeling clean and moisturized with every wash.
Colour safe and great for all curl types! Michelle A. Hair type: 3C So gentle but gets you nice and clean! It’s has no fragrance but it actually smells good. A win for me! Tammy L. Hair type: 3B I’m so glad I tried this shampoo! Cleans beautifully and doesn’t strip my hair.

I had bought this shampoo and conditioner and leave in conditioner some time ago and have only used it periodically. I did like the way my hair looked on the first day that I washed and conditioned it.
Day 2 not so much. By day three my hair was like dry sticky , frizzy straw so I would have to re-shampoo and condition. I used to only wash my hair 2-3 times per week. But I can’t go more than 2 days without washing with this product.
But I can’t use this product more than once every two weeks. It is way to heavy and makes my hair feel gross, matted and sticky. So I was alternating it with a cheaper plain moisturizing shampoo and conditioner in between using this.
That was ok. It took several washings with the cheap stuff to get the Lus out. So I got the curl benefits for about two weeks. I ordered another bottle of LUS shampoo and it took so long to get it that I tried another curly hair product that is much cheaper and gives me far better results without turning my hair into a dry matted mess in 2 days.
Kinda wish I would’ve returned the shampoo I bought now. I probably won’t use it and haven’t opened it. I likely won’t order any more hair products from here. I did however love their tips on caring for curly hair.
That was the most helpful. I also love the spray bottle.
So far I am loving this shampoo and conditioner combo! It’s hard for me to find hair products that are both fragrance-free and free of sweet almond oil. I have moderate to severe eczema and a nut allergy, so I am super limited to what I can use on my hair.
Product lathers well; my hair feel super soft and manageable after I get out of the shower, and seems to keep this way days after. Will continue using.
Love your products. I feel their high quality every time I use them! My hair is happy. Love the smell and that I get good styling results without huge chemical infusion into my hair. My hair is fine in texture and the shampoo and conditioner and the curly product I put in to enhance it all work very well together.

I’ve used high-end shampoos and conditioners for 15 years. Theres a clear difference in quality, results and hair health. My scalp has had so many reactions in the last 6 months, I’ve found out I’m allergic to a common preservative (uncommon allergy) and finding any shampoo high end or otherwise has been pretty difficult.
I tried this product and had never used any Shea Moisture products before (I have fine, natural and unnaturally blonde, mostly straight, dry and tangles hair) from what I’d known about the brand I just believed it was not for someone with my hair type and it is drug store so I expected less.
I was wrong. This shampoo has helped my scalp heal, my scalp will still be very oily but it isn’t as bad as it was and it lathers so well. I had doubts since it was so watery but I just squeeze from the bottle straight onto my hair.
This doesn’t strip my hair, the adjustment to silicone free has been difficult but not as difficult as I expected. My hair is moisturized but not weighed down, my scalp is clean but not dry or itchy.
The scent is great too. I used to hate washing my hair and was considering chopping off all of my beautiful long hair to avoid the tangles but now I feel like I can continue to grow it. I know its silly but I was being told by hair stylists that my hair is healthy but the amount it tangled had me in tears just trying to find a solution to smoothing it out without ending up with a greasy mess.
I finally feel some hope, my hair isn’t perfect but its a solid 75% better because of this shampoo.
This sulphate-free moisturising shampoo for natural hair creates a generous creamy lather that gently cleanses to remove buildup while infusing hair with moisture and shine. This sulphate-free moisturising shampoo for natural hair has been formulated as a curl enhancer and to make hair easy to detangle while taming frizz and enhancing shine.
Thive Professionals for Natural Hair is infused with natural shea butter, known to deeply moisturise, and pure coconut oil to help fight frizz, reduce breakage, and enhance shine.
First of all, the conditioner itself was fine. It made my hair easy to brush, and worked just as well as Suave Almond & Shea Butter conditioner. The biggest problem was the container. I don’t know if the product is too thick for a pump, or if the actual pump is defective, but at any rate the system does not work! I was only about halfway through the bottle when the pump refused to bring up any more conditioner (and it never did squirt out much at one time!).
From then on, I couldn’t get any product out without a great deal of aggravation. Since it is a thick conditioner, it doesn’t even squeeze out very easily after removing the top. And the pump on top makes it extremely difficult to store the bottle upside down, which is what is required as the bottle gets low.
I will not buy this again unless I see that the packaging has improved.
I have tried sooooo many products for my daughter’s mixed chick hair. Some horrible, some okay, some better than okay. Some expensive, some more expensive, some ridiculously expensive. I purchased the Suave to use on her hair to protect it when she swims.
But this stuff is amazing. We use it after shampooing (once or twice a week) and it leaves her hair soft, manageable, and smelling so good! She has two types of curls going on. Tight and kinky in front, loose and wavy in the rear.
This works on her whole head. And can’t beat the price.
I’ve actually been dealing with a bit of an itchy scalp this winter and I’m not sure if it will go away after the season is over or if it’s this shampoo. Don’t use this product with silicones because your scalp WILL be oily, irritated and itchy.
When I cut out silicones, my hair did better with this shampoo. I do hot oil treatments before shampooing weekly but because suave isn’t cruelty free, I probably won’t be buying again for my 3c/3b curls.
I don’t have an issue with using a few pumps of shampoo, but I don’t know if I can say I’m a fan of this one. I have nothing to compare it to yet, as this is my first sulfate free shampoo. Thinkdirty also stated this has petroleum in it?? I don’t think so, but hey maybe.
I wouldn’t say I’m a fan but it got the job done when I just wanted to try a sulfate free shampoo but I actually advise you to find a cruelty free one instead. Which is what I should have done. But before switching, remember to reset your hair with an sls shampoo to rinse all those silicones out.
The conclusion of drugstore shampoo and conditioner sulfate free is that they are both very effective at cleansing the hair and scalp and providing moisture and hydration. They are also both very affordable and easy to find in stores.
