20 Best Double Sided Fishing Magnet (2023 Updated)

I got this magnet for fishing out wells and creeks. First well i dropped it in i pulled out a gun barrel and a 22 pistol. It is a powerful magnet like they advertise. Service is just as great.

This magnet could be used as a close line rope holder. I’ve pinch my hand in between the magnet and metal. Be careful. It probably would be great to the a rope on and drag around at a lake swimming spot.

I should have noticed that 405lb means you need 405lb of force to remove once it adheres. Slide it to the end and leverage worked, but children can’t handle.

Its easy to forget that much of what a trout eats is below the surface of the water. I have used this for a few years, have caught numerous Rainbow, Brown, Brook trout, especially effective under a small float as a small nymph floated off the bottom in a moving water situation!.

I bought these for use with a fly rod, and they can be cast even with my 2 weight rods. The soft plastic bodies aren’t as effective as the larger bodies on the regular trout magnet (the split tail isn’t as well defined), but they will catch the bluegill I frequently target.

bought these on a whim 5 or so years ago and i will never use a differant jig when fishing trout or panfish its also deadly to largemouth bass. its nothing to catch 50 or more panfish on these things

This really works. You can check it out on u-tube or with the videos from the company that makes it. As long as you follow the instructions, 2 pound fluorocarbon line, with the proper rod and reel. Even though the lure is 1/64 oz.

it can be cast pretty far with the proper equipment. Let it drop near the bottom of river, slowly real with a twitch of the rod after on or two reels, and then let it sink again. This is truly a fish magnet to all kinds of fish, PERIOD.

I have been fishing these for the last 20 years. I will out fish everyone else with these. I have caught bluegill, bass, crappie (lots of crappie) a catfish and even trout. crappie fishing from the back of a local hi pressure lake i will catch a 30 crappie limit in a little over an hour if i get the right color.

the same time i see other people catching 3. great for teaching kids to cast ultralight off a dock and you have a chance to catch everything you see. IF I HAD ONE THING IN MY TACKLE BOX THIS WOULD BE IT.

Bought this right before trout season opener. Only lure I used, did have to change colors when the bite stopped. Only reason for the 4 stars is when I tried to bend the hook back after a snagn it snapped.

This is a gool magnet setup for retrieval, river salvage fishing, and general ferris metal retrieval. I was not impresses with the four covers supplied for the magnets as they come off readily and are easy to loose.

I normally keep the magnet attached to the side of a steel wall cabinet, or with a single flat 16 ga steel plate. Good product.

I have used this magnet on several occasions, most recently when I re-shingled my barn. After removing the old shingles I had nails on the ground that I did not catch on the tarps I laid. A few sweeps of this wonderful magnet picked up unseen nails and other metal fasteners that I had not seen in the grass.

This powerful magnet saved me from getting any number of flats on my tractor.

..need to to use locktight or some other type of connector bolt ..lucky I bought 2 and put loctite on the second one..maybe I can fish the first one out of the lake

A wind blew the table over on the deck, sending my drill and screw bits across the deck and through the cracks. Also lost a screw bit in the sand installing a mailbox. Bought this, vs the 150 lb model, to pick up stronger and possibly more.

With an audible click, it pulled the screw bit out of the sand. Found many extra things under the deck and all screw and drill bits were retrieved. The magnet was a bit heavy to swipe back and forth with an extended arm while crawling on my chest, but it wasn’t all that much space to cover, and the pleasure of hearing the clicks of picking up stuff kept me going.

Click-Click, Whoot-Whoot. As I live on a lake, I thought the 250 lb. model would be good for some magnet-fishing. Only later did I realize, what if I really did latch onto something nearing the 250 lbs? I wouldn’t be able to pull it up! haha.

Oh well, live and learn.

I bought this to use in my yard to find stray nails/screws/metal from when I’m doing projects and inevitably lose metal in the process. Whether I’m working on a project with all new materials or breaking down an object to refurbish, this magnet has been priceless for finding any stray metal pieces.

I tied a heavy duty rope to it so I can easily “swing” it back and forth in a grid pattern over my work area. It also came in handy after getting my roof replaced and needed to find some stray tracking nails that the roofing crew had missed.

I got this magnet about two weeks ago and I am really impressed with it. I also have a 850 pull dual side super magnet that just picks up from the top and bottom and not from the sides. So you have to pull the magnet over the top of something to pick it up when fishing.

The HFT 250 magnet will find things all the way around the magnet, top and sides. This also has twice the surface area to find objects than my super magnet. Seems I have more fun using this 250 magnet and it’s strong enough to pull a heavy chain and bicycle from the lake.

Bought these primarily for ultralight fishing out of my kayak. They do not disappoint. Pulling in nice bluegills and a few largemouth with these. Fish seem to hit this almost instantly when it hits the water.

The individual grubs last a good while. Eventually they get a little roughed up from the bluegill bites, but they are very durable and you can catch quite a lot of fish off of one grub. I found the hooks usually ended up in the upper lip and were easy to remove from the fish, they are not overly large hooks at all.

I was most impressed with such a little lure catching nice keeper size bluegills on a consistent basis. Definitely buy some of the panfish magnet bobbers to go with these.

I’ve bought several of these kits over the years. I have not found anything that consistently catches panfish as well as this. There are several color options, which may help you in different waters where the fish prefer different presentations, but I find the black/chartreuse and the black/red to get the best results here in TN.

I float these under a small float and just kinda twitch it along on a really slow retrieve. Gets hit constantly and lands huge panfish. The only reason I give it 4/5 is that the quality control on the jig heads is low.

One out of every 4-5 hooks is bent or deformed in some way. Other than that, they are awesome and fill a cooler.

Great little kit that will actually fit in the back pocket of a pair of jeans. Excellent choice of colors for panfish of all species. Follow the method for using a strike indicator (small float) and locate depth of fish, then fill your stringer!.

This green and white soft magnet bait is my back up soft bait when the trout are slow to bite the pink soft magnet bait. Find the trout hanging out in the shady areas prefer the green and white soft bait over the other colors, while the trout hanging out in the full sun like the pink better.

The issue I have is with the jig head hooks. When the trout bites the hook and it embeds in its mouth or throat, I often have to utilize needle nose pliers to remove it. When I grab onto the hook to pull it out the jig head hook snaps clean into.

Now if I place the soft bait on a normal hook I have no issues.

The trout magnet is an interesting lure for catching trout. The float puts the bait at the correct depth to catch fish just off the bottom. Best fished slow and add rod twitches..get multiple colors.

I Haven’t Been Able To Use/Test Them Yet,That’s The Reason For The 4 Star Rating. But Have Read So Many Positive Results About Them. Hearing That Most Colors Work!

These are great for new or inexperienced fisherman. It doesn’t require a lot of skill to fish trout magnets effectively. Let the drop and give them a twitch every now and then and you’ll catch fish.

I’ve had the item about two weeks, though it took about three and a half weeks to receive by mail order. I used it to remove screws and nails from a small burn pit. It did what I wanted it to do, though I envisioned swinging it over the ashes and having the screws and nails simply “jump” out of the ashes onto the magnet.

In reality I had to first rake through the ashes to loosen them and then drag the magnet through the ashes to find the screws. It is smaller than I expected — it’s about 5 inches long and about 3/4 inch think.

The actual magnet is sandwiched between two thin metal plates. The items stick to the bottom and to the ends of the magnet. I don’t think there is anything special about the magnet. Mine was damaged.

The actual magnet was broken at about the midway point, and pushed upward in the metal plate box. I may be able to force it back into place, though I haven’t tried. The magnet’s rated pull is measured against a flat, clean, steel plate, and I assume with an undamaged magnet that it is flush with the bottom of the steel plates.

I didn’t compare prices or other magnet options so I cannot comment on the value. I’m sure it would be useful in helping find a screw or bolt dropped in the grass I you knew about were you needed to look, so a handy item to have around for that.

The casing covers so much of the magnet face there is little useful surface area. It doesn’t matter tough since the magnet is about as strong as one on your refrigerator. It barely picks up a nail and only then if you are immediately above it.

I have several coin sized rare earth magnets that put this to shame. I don’t think it would pick up 150 ounces.

I have purchased these several times this year and so far have not been let down. Typically jigs (no matter the size) seem to sink too quickly for me as I fish very small creeks and streams. But these are simply amazing with the way they slowly sink and go with the current.

I’ve been using the trout magnet jig head for years. Excellent hook up ratio. I use them primarily for panfish. However I’ve also landed several respectable large mouth bass on them. Good value too.

If you like fishing small streams with an ultralight spinning rod this jig head is something you should try. It’s 1/64 of an oz. which is perfect for getting down into small holes without hanging up on the bottom.

It took 10 – 11 days to get it. Slow shipping! But works and very very strong. It really suck on the metal big time! It takes major strength to pull the magnet off from the metal. It really suck in good way a mean! LOL.

Well worth to buy if you need a good magnet. This is the one! Definitely happy for my buy and what I needed for!.

I received exactly what I ordered…..these magnets are strong…..I use them outside…..

I would recommend this to pick up large items up to 100 pounds but only if it can reach the item you need to pick up. I was looking for one that could bring the item to the magnet. I will find a use for this one because it does hold the weight without dropping.

So I bought a Pack. Also Not Knowing My Brother-in-law Bought a Pack. He Caught fish On them and Loved them but some how he Miss Placed them. He Look at our Local Walmart and sold Out and Not order them Cause of being on Clearance.

Same Problem and a close by Walmart Well 30 Miles away No Luck. He had to Go to This one Town 50 Miles a way Hey there’s A Walmart. He Check if they had it. Sure enough On the Clearance row For $17. 95 Well I feeling sorry For the guy and I Go fishing and do well I Let him Use My Box Of Trout Magnets before He found those other.

Man I going to be out of these wonder Lures soon. I Got On Walmart Site to Store and there it was so I ordered It And I also got for My father who 87 years Young a one Color Pack and Gave him. He Love to Trout fish.

I bet I’ll Be ordering him a box soon as well. What can I say These work on Trout , Pan-fish , Bass, Walleyes. They Look Like a Minnow. If You Use Micro Tackle these are a must have.

IšverstiShow in original languageI’ve been using the Trout Magnet and Crappie Magnet for several years. I’ve caught hundreds of large quality size trout on them. Crappie, Bass (Largemouth and Small Mouth), Bream, you name it, it bites the Magnet.

No matter where I go, I have several colors in my box. It works really great in shallow rivers and streams. Just set it above the bottom of the river and let it do it’s magic, also use a small split shot about 8 inches from your hook.

The Trout Magnet catches trout when other lures just don’t seem to work. The presentation is easy to learn and is very fun to fish.

These are great little shad darter heads that work on just about all species. I use them with the Berkley Gulp 1″ minnows and always slay the panfish and I mean some good sized crappie as well. I have gold and silver and I use silver when the water is clear and gold when the water is murky or muddy and it works for me.

Sometimes it is hard to find 1/64 ounce or less jigheads and these always deliver.

I do purchase these every year for when I am fishing delay harvest sections. They get the job done, but the only problem I have is after a couple hookups fish start to pop off because jig gets weak, and barb bends easily.

That is why I give them a 3 star. Rig with a power worm and you will gettem’.

I needed this exact size of jig head with the EXACT size of hook. I paint the jig heads red and tie my own hair onto the jigs…..a special hair called “Kips-tail”.

I started using these last year, but due to COVID they were very hard to find. I am a huge fan of the Mustad hooks, and I honestly believe that you lose less fish with them. All around a superior jig head.

To no surprise, these hooks will be flattened with most fish including large bass. Poor quality hooks good for minnow and farmed trout. Just another money maker for some guy.

This is my go to first lure. They are great for a myriad of fish like trout, perch, smallmouth, rock bass, etc. I use these on the small streams in West Virginia and Arkansas with success. Slow water I twitch them like they show on their website, and fast water I use a float.

If you’re not having luck with one color, switch colors until you catch fish. When you quit catching, change colors again. I change colors several times a day.

I can’t make mine work – if it is a trout magnet, the polarity seems to be reversed so it repels rather than attracts. Using ultralight and 4lb line, tried free fishing and under a float, on a stocked pond and on a wild trout river.

Have not yet had a nibble although other small jigs and spoons did get a few. Not sure what I’m doing wrong, it looks good to me in the water.

This is an outstanding jig. If there was one piece of tackle to have in a survival kit, this would be it. I have caught trout, countless perch and small mouth bass on it. This trout magnet is unbelievable.

When fishing is slow this is what I reach for. Just the other day my fishing partner caught a 4lb 2oz rainbow on this. So far the only color we use is the white. Haven’t had to try the other colors yet as the white one has produced fish.
