20 Best Double Burner Hot Plate (2023 Updated)

I bought this unit to replace my Broil King single coil burner when it went out after 20 years of almost daily use. WHAT I LIKE: * The heavy cast iron burners – Before I owned my Broil King, I had a unit with stainless steel burners, of which badly warped after only a few years.

I’m hoping the heavier cast iron will hold up better. * The unit has a matte finish which doesn’t show splatters like a shiny finish does. * The knobs don’t get as dangerously hot as my Broil King. WHAT I DON’T LIKE: * The cord is only 27.

5″ long (excluding prongs) & doesn’t reach my outlet easily. * Indicator light constantly goes off & on during cooking (On 2 different pages of the user manual, it states “The power indicator light. will glow indicating that the heating element is turned on” AND “The indicator lights illuminate when the unit is turned on”).

Nowhere do they tell you that the lights go off during cooking – this is dangerous if you are not paying attention to the temperature dial. * Unused side of burner gets fairly warm, though not enough to burn your hand.

This is only a minor issue. HOW WELL IT COOKS: * Temps range from 1 to 6 but can be set anywhere in between. * Number 1 only gets warm enough to keep cooked food warm. * Number 2 took about 15 mins to heat a bowl of noodle soup.

* Number 4 took about 20 mins to bring 6. 5 cups of water to a low boil, just hot enough to cook pasta. * Number 6 (max) it took about 16 min to bring 6. 5 cups of water to a full boil.

Both my sons are Eagle Scouts and camp quite often with there troop, friends and father. They are always looking for more camping and cooking supplies. I got them this hot plate and they were beyond excited.

It’s light enough to pack and take with you but sturdy enough to handle boy scouts. It’s easy to use and the directions on how to use were simple. The temperature heated up like promised and the portability is perfect.

This is now a camping must.

This Buffet Burner looks really nice on my counter, but what I needed it to do, it doesn’t! The smaller burner takes for ever to heat, and the burner surfaces, both of them, discolored very badly after the first use.

I used new, induction pots, the proper size for the surface, and they now have very light gray circles that can’t be removed. The entire base gets hotter than normal after I am using it for more than about 15 minutes.

I’m in airbnb for 2 weeks and this proved very useful. Doesn’t take much space, heats up fast and I can use it for mild cooking. Isn’t too powerful yet does my breakfast perfectly, I can make tea (I dontblike the coffee makers) or cook a soup without problems.

I love the design and it works very well. It takes a long time to boil water when using a large pan over both the burners at the same time. But it probably wasn’t designed for that, so it’s OK. I chose it because both the burners are the same size, and so many others I saw had one small burner.

Good product, no regrets!.

It works perfectly, cleans real easy, and is small. It’s just as pictured. Now the delivery took longer than expected. But I’m satisfied with it.

I’ve given this product a 3 because it does work, but the design could be improved. There are two indicator lights on the machine which light up when you turn on a burner and stay lit while the burner is heating, however the lights turn off once the burner has reached it’s temperature.

The lights will relight occasionally when the burner needs to warm itself back up again. There are no lights that just stay on when the machine is on. For this reason, it can be difficult to know at a glace that the machine is still on, even when the burners are hot.

The actual power knob for the machine is in the back of the machine, so yoi can’t just look at it and see. It would be a helpful safety feature if there was just a light that came on when the machine’s power was on.

Used only once so far, both burners at the same time. Convenient for my outdoor kitchen, Cooked a nice meal. I would be able to say excellent only if I had used it over a longer period.

I purchased this hot plate about 5 months ago. I don’t even use it every day. At this point I’m going to throw it in the trash because it’s gone from working very slowly, but working, to working intermittently.

I’m very disappointed in the poor quality, and it’s too late for me to return it. I feel like I just bought a price of garbage that I now have to dispose of.

I do have a unique experience using this Countertop Double burner. I am staying with some friends during a transition from a divorce. I thought This double burner may come in handy as I had limited access to the kitchen in the house.

After I had it and used it just a couple of times. The owner of the house came down with Covid and although we all had our vaccines, I wanted to quarantine myself. The double burner allowed me to cook, and heat water etc, without using a microwave for a few days.

After I move into my own home, I think will be great for parties, or gatherings to keep food warm on a counter, or even on a covered patio. I have purchased almost every Cuisinart small appliance there is.

Cant wait to unbox them from my storage unit and use them. They are all brand new!.

I waited for just over a month to review and now I can say, with-out reservation that I’m extremely pleased with this purchase. I’ve used it every day to cook lunches and dinners, including home-made soups, stews, fried and deep-fried foods and all have been a pleasure.

I am a renter, and the 1970s electric stove that came with the flat stopped working. Replacing the stove was not a viable option but I needed a cook-top. I’d gotten another brand at less cost and not only did it take 45 minutes to bring water to a boil, it took considerably longer to cook even pasta.

I returned it and added the extra money to purchase this Cuisinart burner and immediately noticed the difference. It’s also reduced my electric bill considerably, yet with-out costing me more in time and effort.

It’s also easy to keep clean with a damp cloth after use and and occasional wipe with a common window cleaner. After a month of daily use, it still looks as it did when I received it. Again, one of my best investments ever.

I’m in no rush to replace the stove now.

Our electric range stopped working. After calling a repairman, who charged us $150. 00 for the service call. He estimated about $500. 00 to repair the stove. I said i could do without the range. I ordered the Countertop Double Burner and it has been a wonderful replacement.

I can cook soups, spegetti, eggs and anything i could have made on the range. It is portable, easy to use and the controls are accurate. I may never replace the range.

I live in a home with no stove. This is a perfect replacement. Great quality and value. The power is strong. It boiled my water for pasta quickly.

best I’ve had but was wiping water off the counter and picked up the cord to move and got a low voltage shock! wasn’t just a tingle but wasn’t major

WE LOVE THIS COOKTOP!!!! We were so pleasantly surprised to see how well this cooktop works. We installed it into an island so that the surface of the cooktop is the same as the counter. SO easy to clean.

There is no more drip pans that wear out and need to be replaced. no danger of food catching fire under the burner and we couldn’t be more happy. It works beautifully. is super fast. no waiting for the burner to heat up or cool down.

There is really no danger of fire at all with induction. This specific model works just great for us. Very happy we made the change. We are getting older and just don’t want to have to clean things like we once did.

PLUS. it uses less energy to do a better, faster job than conventional stoves. Never again will we have to clean under and around burners!! An added bonus. the cost was very affordable. We are even thinking of purchasing another so that we have a back up just in case.

We cannot go back to cooking with electric burners now!!!!.

Works well, cooks quickly. Had to get use to the temperature settings, but they work well. I only had one burner on my old unit. Two makes it easier to cook multiple dishes.

Seems like a great product so far! I don’t do a lot of cooktop cooking, so my plan is to do away with my current old cooktop and use this one. I love that it can be put a way when not needed! So far, I’ve only boiled water on it, but it boiled in seconds! I may use this more often than i first thought!.

First of all its smaller then it looks which is perfect. The knobs are sturdy by the plastic clear par sometime pop out. Its exactly how it appears online. Its cooks perfectly and easy to clean. Now the really weird part is when it gets too hot it wil shut itself off and back on.

I figure its some sort of safety fire prevention mechanism or something. But i tested it many times and that’s exactly what it does and you will here a click everytime it goes it. Also all it requires to work is a wall socket.

I actually keep mine in my painting hideout. It’s work it! I took a few pictures and included a Gatorade bottle so you can get a feel for the cookwares true size.

I have no complaints about the performance of this cooktop. The instructions on how use the cooktop are short and simple. There are 2 sentences to pay attention to in the user manual. 1. Don’t use a pot that the bottom of the pot is larger than the burner.

2. The on light will go out when the burner reaches the desired temperature selected. The cooktop boils water quickly and frying is no problem if you use the right size pot or pan. The cooktop isn’t turning itself on and off.

It’s regulating the temperature.

This is great for camping. I can cook two things at once! The cooktop is very nice, smooth and easy to clean. Just be careful, the silver part gets hot too but when you know this, you know not to touch it when you’re cooking.

It’s very easy to clean and cleans up nicely.

The burners take quite a while to heat up. They do not burn the food because the burner shuts off. It is easy to clean and the bottom does not heat up so as to burn your counter top surface. The price is reasonable.

I can move it under a counter or cabinet to use the entire counter top. If the bottom of my my pot is stained at all it does not heat up to a higher temp. Scour the bottom of your pots or skillets and it works fine.

This hot plate really works well with cast iron cook wear. I would buy this again.

I cook on it daily. I heat water regularly. It doesn’t heat super fast to start but it is not slow. Once it reaches temp it stays hot even when turned off. Cooks well on a low setting, on 3 or 4 of the possible 12.

I did research too long (two days, several hours each) and found so many sorry reviews for those I considered buying till I found this hot plate with the least objections. I like that I can use any type of cookware on it and that the cast iron plate is durable, not fragile like the induction hot plates and that it holds heat long after turning it off.

I like that it isn’t made in China. It looks as good as it is good. Very stable on my counter. No problems. Would be nice to find one of these with a second plate of a smaller seize. One large, one small.

This hot plate arrived well packaged and ready for use. It is perfect for my tiny home. While it does take up more counter space than other hot plates, the temperature control works wonderfully and it brings water to a full boil rapidly and cooks food perfectly.

I am very pleased with my purchase and would highly suggest this brand to others. While more expensive than other brands, the plate stays hot and doesn’t keep shutting off due to the thermostat control that many more inexpensive store brands have.

Do yourself a favor and go ahead and make the purchase. It’s well worth it!.

When I was suddenly without a gas range a couple of months ago, I was down to a single burner induction cook top (which I love), but I had glass cookware I couldn’t use on it. Rather than replace my glass cookware right before Thanksgiving, I decided to just get a single burner electric cook top.

I’ve never cooked on electric, except induction, so plunged into researching them. I shop for quality and longevity and this Cadco KR-S2 seemed to fit the bill. When I unpacked it, I was impressed with how solid and well-made it felt and it works beautifully! I love the smooth ceramic top as opposed to coils.

I love this electric cooktop burner! It heats up pretty quickly, gets the job done. I have a stove at home; however, my roommate cooks at the same time I do. I had to get an extra two burners so that I can cook as well! I am glad I did.

A smart investment. I recommend this product. By the way, it arrived sooner that expected.

Slim and trim, I use it in my full time camper instead of expensive LP gas. I love to cook and have prepared some very nice meals with it. One draw back; the knobs are very hard to turn and you cannot see the settings on them unless you look streight down from the top.

I recommend the knobs should be larger and more clearly marked. I would buy this again.

Affordable, compact, and heats quickly. I bought this and a large toaster oven instead of a standard range and cook on them multiple times a day. I have no complaints.

So far so good. Easy to clean top. Heated 5qts of water just S quick as I’ve done with gas and quicker than an electric stove. Great value if you don’t need all that fancy precise digital readout and just want to cook like we have done for the last 50yrs.

Love the burners but the sheet metal on the bottom is dented near the word chef and a crack on the back corner of the metal on the same side as the dent. Probably got dropped and I hope it doesn’t effect the life span.

Large burner stopped functioning after three weeks and only used it to heat/ boil water, boil rice and boil oatmeal. Small burner takes an exorbitant amount of time to get even a cup a water to boil.

Went it arrived there was a small rattle of something loose inside of the unit, but I tried it and it worked minus the poor heating time for the small burner. Not deal breakers but it the pilot lights are hard to see as on or off depending on the lighting in the room and the off position should have a click or snap so you know its in place.

Too bad as it looks nice.

It was easy to use and it was consistent for my family’s thirsty world. Every time I need to fill a pitcher or a water thermos it was a water world event. My wife and I are getting along in years and this device makes it a non chore experience.

I don’t have to hoist the 5 gallon water jug on the counter since I set it on an upside down oversize heavy duty ceramic planter with the water jug dispenser resting on top.

the ceramic burners heat up pretty quick and provide for even cooking. good for frying eggs or making rice. never had a “hot plate” before, but when our cooktop when out, this unit is filling the gap quite nicely.

Awesome for keeping my largest pot evenly heated. Using for large batch canning and as the heat source for large distillation system. My largest pot with water weighs in at 28 pounds. This hot plate showed no signs of stress.

The coils heat up quickly and evenly. I have mine connected to a temp controlled outlet set at med-hi with a heat probe that signals the outlet to supplie power as needed to the hot plate. Assuring that the temperature I preset stays on target.

We live in a small cabin in the country and needed something small, to cook on, that would fit on a counter top. We also didn’t want some cheap 30 dollar unit that would need replacing in 6 months. This fit the bill perfectly.

It’s as close to commercial quality as you can get for this price point. It also works amazingly well. We use cast iron cookware on it and it is holding up just fine. We have had it now for about 9 months and still going strong.

I cook on a wood cook stove and use a countertop burner for the hot months. After buying and returning a cheap hotplate which was awful, I returned it and found your site. This is the best we’ve ever used.

It heats up fast and cools down quickly. The heat is consistent and works for all my needs. I love having 2 different voltages. I can heat a gallon of water in no time on the larger burner and gently cook an egg on the smaller.

Needed and extra burner in my restaurant. This “professional” model has sides made of plastic. The first time we used it we used a pot wider than the burner itself and the plastic sides melted. Does not affect performance, but looks unsightly and makes cleaning a bigger task.

Not sure why anyone would use plastic parts that close to the burner.

A backup unit. I was having problems with my gas range at the tank, but got that fixed, so have not had to use, but I’m sure it will be handy at times. Especially if camping where electric hookup. I want to convert my storage cabin into guest room and thought this would be perfect along with toaster oven.

It can’t handle Heavy or large sized pots and pans. It makes cooking slower. It constantly shuts off which makes it even more slower to cook. Water takes forever to boil.

We purchased this burner to use while our kitchen is being remodeled but I’m sure we will find other uses going forward. The burner works great. It heats up in a reasonable amount of time and provides consistent results.

It works a little differently from a normal electric stove burner. You don’t need to turn the dial to the high setting to get it to heat up and then turn it down to the heat you want. You just set it to the level you want and it heats to that point.

I usually use “1” when I cook most things. The base is very steady and solid. I’m very happy with this purchase.

The Cuisinart Countertop Single “Burner” works great for my purposes. Yes, the surface around the burner gets hot. That is to be expected, I think. If you follow directions and let the burner plate get to temperature (the light goes green).

it works great. It heated up soup in 5 minutes or less. Just like a stove stop. Like all cooking appliances, keep flamable items away from it. I recommend this for anyone looking for portable electric cooking.

Can’t even cook an egg. Took 20 minutes to fry one egg and the yolk was even runny. The plate cools when it reaches a certain temperature. I used it outdoor and it did not even kill a fly that touched the rim of the frying pan while frying fish that took more than 30 minutes to cook and fish was not even crispy.

It was soggy. Very poor quality.

I’ve been using it about once a day for the past few weeks & it works ok. The instructions indicate that it can’t remain plugged in. The imprinting of temperature numbers has already worn off by about 70% making it harder to operate.

This is a quality issue that could have easily detected & prevented by using the correct imprinting method. I’ll have to try using nail polish or notching it. Otherwise, it cooks well.

My wife loves cooking with here new Electric Cooktop Burner Infrared Ceramic Glass Hot Plate 2 Two Cooking Stove. We live in an RV and it is the perfect size for our kitchen. She uses it for all 3 meals daily.

I was tired of daily cleaning my white ceramic stove top and have looked for the perfect double burner for everyday light cooking. This was perfect!! If you allow a bit of extra time to heat up (5-10 min), it heats up nicely.
