Just bought one for my new puppy, a border collie. I bought my first Yeti bowl 2 years ago. At the time my border collie puppy was 6 mos old and kept flipping his food bowl over; any and every bowl. So PC Richard started carrying this $50 dogfood bowl which I first thought was a little much.

But hey if it doesn’t flip over, then to me it’s worth it. So we used it for a week and although he tried, the bowl did not flip over due to how it is weighted. Then being a border collie he figured something out.

he kept nudging it with his snout and inch by inch moved it into an inside corner of the walls. Once in the corner he got leverage to slightly lift the edge of the bowl off the floor, and after some tries he figured how to push it up and get his nose under more of it.

until he was able to flip it up against the wall and then paw at it and nudge it upside down finally. I swear he turned around and grinned at me for his accomplishment. He never did it again, he just wanted me to know that as the smartest dog, a border collie, he could.

Purchased this because I?m notorious for kicking the collapsible bowl over when we?re camping. This bowl is sturdier and more durable. It?s weighted at the bottom with a grippy pad so it doesn?t get knocked over easily.

Bonus: its dishwasher safe. My pup is probably the max size for the 4 cup bowl, he?s a 30 pound heeler and it fits him just right for his 1. 5 cup scoop of food. I do have to refill the water several times a day so we probably could have gone with the 8 cup, but he?s really good at getting sticks and mud in his bowl when we?re camping so what we have works for us.

If you?re dog is bigger than 30lbs would recommend getting the bigger bowl, especially if you plan on using it daily. We?ll keep the collapsible bowl for backpacking but this is now our go-to for picnics, car camping, play dates, and doggy park days.

We’ve had these YETI Boomer 4 Dog Bowls for over a month, and our girls are happy. We purchased 4 of these bowls and placed them at various areas in our home, with one outdoors. Our 4 Australian Shepherd girls have never drank so much, and that’s a good thing.

The size is ideal for keeping it freshly filled. The water stays cool which entices them to lap it up. Good thing we have a doggie door with access to the great outdoors because with all that drinking those girls have got to go! Thanks YETI for creating an ideal dog bowl.

This is supposedly the exact replacement flap for my dog door. They both have the round logo, it’s for a 10. 5 x 15 inch opening, the screw holes are the same, it’s the same brand. There is one problem and it’s a big one.

The flap is at least half an inch too short. There is an opening at the bottom and the magnets don’t make contact. That has made it to where my daughter’s cats think they can go out. Before they saw it as a sort of block, but now they see an opening at the bottom and think they can go out.

I had no choice but to replace it because it’s was ripping. I’m not sure what to do.

Within 2 years of purchasing my dog doors, the flaps need replacing. I have 2 doors with double flaps so all 4 need replacing. The price is very high, near the price of a new door. I matched the Size if my door (xl) to the XL that the description says says it matched plastic and metal but they are far too small.

If it helps anyone, the brand logo is on the vinyl for this product. Molded in. My doors do not have this, it has a rectangle. If you have a rectangle that’s a different part I can’t find that part on chewy, found it on the mfg website but it’s … not for sale….

I ordered this door flap because it was the only one I could find for my existing door which had a flap size of 15″x20″. The existing is a older model and did not have the same model emblem on the flap, I took a chance and ordered it.

The flap come with 5 mounting holes, my original flap had 7. Three of the original holes matched, drilled the two holes from the new flap into my existing frame that did not match the new flap, also replaced the original magnets with a new strip magnet.

The new flap fits and works perfect. I am very happy with the way it turned out.

This is our first electric dog fence. The unit came in one piece – ready to use. It takes a little time to set up the boundaries – you’ll need to decide the distance you want your dog to travel and use the boundary dial on the unit to increase or decrease the travel areas – then walk your property and place the boundary flags.

It took us a few tries to get it right for our dogs. Remember that the signal is a radio wave and therefore you might have “blind spots” due to trees and other obstacles in the yard. We are on day 10 of training with our 3 dogs – I would say be patient with your pets – take the time to do the training the right way.

I found the training video on the website VERY helpful as we had no idea how to even start the training. Also, be aware of the intensity of the static correction – our 1 dog needs a higher setting than the other 2.

If you have multiple dogs – it was helpful for us to label their individual collar so we can be sure that each dog as the right collar on with their individual settings as the collars we received were all the same color – maybe the manufacturer should consider personalized collars for multiple dogs or at least different color options.

Overall – happy with the product so far.

We initially set out to get an in-ground system but the cost was extremely high compared to this device so we decided to try out the PetSafe wireless system. The instructions are clear and there are many warnings they provide about both the safety of the system and installation which were helpful (e.

g. don’t install near large metal objects due to wifi interference). These are the steps we took and what we learned – For the system: 1. We placed the system in a room that was what we believed to be the center that would allow the pup to freely run around the house.

2. We set the system to a distance level (radius) that we believed would allow our pup to reach the edge of the yard but not go too far into the woods. This took some adjustments with one of us walking the collar to the edge of the yard while the other found the perfect place in the room to leave/ultimately mount the system.

3. We set flags evenly around the perimeter. 4. We tested the collar on ourselves (hand) and at the lowest shock level (level 2 as level 1 is only sound). We learned that the shock at this level is more of a vibration that becomes irritating after some time if you remain outside of the perimeter with the prongs pressed against the same area (e.

g. palm of hand). For the training: 1. We placed the collar on the dog tight enough for the prongs to make contact but loose enough that we could slip a finger in between the prongs and his neck. 2. We walked the dog along the perimeter on the lowest setting (1) to get him used to the collar beeping as he approached the flags.

3. Then we showed him the level 2 setting (lowest shock level). He went outside of the perimeter once as we said ‘come back’ and it took about 15 seconds for him to realize there are consequences to staying outside of the perimeter.

(He became irritated with the ‘shock’ and found his way back to within the perimeter. ) He then barked at the flags believing they may have something to do with the shock. 4. The next few days we walked him along the perimeter and noticed: 1.

he was aggressive towards the flags and 2. he responded to the beep so much so that he ran directly to the front door. With #2 we are on the right track but we do not want him to be afraid to go outside.

5. We played with him outside the next few days, having him chase a frisbee around with us and anytime he ran for the front door we’d convince him to come play some more. He became comfortable with playing outside in the yard again but still very cautious as he still didn’t know when the collar was going to beep.

6. A few more days of playing outside and he was back to normal, running freely across the yard. We threw the frisbee outside of the perimeter and he started chasing after it. He noticed the beep and immediately came back into the yard but did not run to the door.

Instead, he stayed right inside the perimeter and continued playing with us. 7. The last test would be to have someone walk another dog outside of the perimeter or for a critter to entice him to leave the perimeter.

We believe the beep is enough of a warning now that he won’t run outside the perimeter but time will tell. A few notes: 1. We never leave our dog outside unattended. 2. We have a sloped front yard and the signal is more choppy (i.

e. his collar beeps a few feet inside of the perimeter at times). He rarely plays in the front yard to begin with so this is not a problem for us. 3. We were nervous the collar would hurt him (until we tried it on ourselves), nervous the collar wouldn’t work, and nervous the collar would make him afraid of going outside.

After going through the process above, we don’t have these concerns anymore. We are very thankful we found a much more affordable solution to an in-ground wireless fencing system.

Petsafe Wireless Fence was easy to set up. Placement and temp requirements make it hard to use in ND. Doesn’t maintain a consistent signal. It leaves gaps where the dog can sneak through. The flags don’t hold up to the weather.

The collar is too bulky and heavy thus pulling the probes away from the dog’s neck. I have a smaller dog so the collar needed to be cut. I doubt it’s returnable at this point. The collar’s volume is not loud enough.

Best crates ever made!! Have been wanting one for my young Border Collie I’ve started doing Agility with. We had wire crates in my car, but they just weren’t as safe and secure. She started not liking to ride as much due to the slight rocking of the wire crate.

Like many folks, she goes everywhere I go, so I thought I’d try this crate, and a pad. My vet recommended a thundershirt and meds. But I didn’t want to go that route. It solved all her issues and mine! SO happy I ordered this crate and from LL Bean.

For reference I drive a Subaru Forester. My dog is 37 lbs and this is perfect for her. Also the beautiful color matches my black interior. Mostly I feel, and she does too, that she is safe and hops in her crate no problems now.

Ruffland kennels are a nice option. Yes, pricey compared to cheaper 2 piece kennels. The Ruffland option offers increases protection for the dog, are very easy to clean, and I love the two way door. I got the back seat model so can fit two kennels in the back seat of truck when traveling.

Dogs kennels are in the back of the truck during the day, but at night put kennels in the truck for increased security. Different truck and could no longer fit two back to back. The back seat model solves the problem without sacrificing width or height of the kennel.

Happy with my purchase.

This is an unbelievably awesome product and I’ve had it in the middle of my family room for about two weeks to let my dogs get used to it and then put it inside my car so they just jump without any fear.

I looked at other crates that were very expensive for high anxiety dogs and this one actually makes my dog comfortable. I don’t know if it’s the color or the size on the inside but she’s not trying to get out and even if she did the door is solid! This is a good size crate on the inside for a dog that has high anxiety and I need to keep her in there for a few hours a day during a trip! Thank you!! Just a great experience with your site and this product! Very happy!!.

This pen is functional but built with very weak components. If you don’t mind setting it up with care and you are simply trying to contain an otherwise agreeable dog, then it might be useful for you.

If you are needing to contain a larger dog that may disagree with his or her containment, then let me be clear. This pen is not up for the task. Also, if containing or isolating your dog is of a crucial importance then the consequences of this pen failing can far exceed the cost and value of the pen.

My 50lb German Shepherd Mix destroyed this thing even while his leg was shattered from a gunshot and finished it off the day after the unfortunately necessary amputation of that leg. I was able to return it thankfully, but there are other pens elsewhere that are solid for generally $100 more.

I found another pen that was a little smaller and even though it is not meant to be portable it has been easier to relocate by removing and replacing two clips between each panel using an impact gun than trying to move this portable Kennel without breaking it even though no tools are required.

My dog made a mess of the thin wire and bent the gate latch plus the latch that connects to two end panels together. He completely would shove the retriever kennel around making a major mess of his food, water, and bedding before escaping.

Worse than the pen not being worth what it cost was the severe challenge it caused me having to find other ways to contain and isolate my dog until I could find another solution. By contrast: My better pen has zero damage after weeks of additional use during the same dog’s recovery.

He quickly realized it was indestructible and settled into contentment. Now I use it during the cold weather to bring in all three of my dogs. That’s relevant to my review because the bottom line is this retriever kennel is built to look the part but not live it, and even if you can skate by for your intended use, the poor quality of the pen may still cause you to miss out on a lot of value like it did me.

I am so glad I returned it and found one that will last and be useful long-term. I’m not going to name a different product in my review but the other pen has 8 panels, thicker wire, powder coated black finish, clearly solid clamps between the panels and a gate latch that is welded not bolted on.

The clamps use half inch nuts not wing nuts. I found mine at a local hardware store not a major chain. So at least you know legitimate pens of this size exist and don’t have to settle for less if you keep looking.

It is a wonderful product! My dogs love it! I am using them (I bought 2) instead of the smaller cages so my dogs have room when I am away. They love the extra space!! They are very roomy yet small enough to be set up in my living room.

My only request would be hinges that are a bit sturdier because I do have to open and close my kennels alot since I keep them in the house. The weight of the fence sections is straining on the small hinges.

If someone were leaving them permanently set up there would be zero complaints on this product!!! Even using them quite frequently to completely set up and dismantle it is an awesome product for the price! I will be using this kennel when i take my dogs camping, 2 of them can also be put together to make a huge space.

I have large dogs and they have not been able to topple this kennel even though I dont use the stakes that came with it.

I bought this because of the top it had on it. My intentions being to keep coyote’s, bobcats, and great horned owls from snatching my pup. We have a wall around our backyard, but the predators can still get over it.

The kennel is meant to put him outside for a brief period at a time to take care of business and enjoy a little fresh air. I wouldn’t keep him in it if we weren’t home or for long periods. It unfolds easily.

The cover goes on tight, but I had to use some small bungee cords to tack it down on all 4 sides. I couldn’t fathom how to use the ones supplied, and I think the cover would have slipped off. It has stayed on through some really windy conditions.

It serves the purpose I bought it for, but like some other reviewers, I think the top could have been made a little bigger.

The Vari Kennel has metal side vents and a metal spring loaded gate. It has bolts to put the top and bottom together. Airline safe travel kennel. Works great for our xl main coon cross cat. Cat can not stick paws/ legs out through side vents.

Can be seatbelted down in car. Would work for a sm- med. sm. dog, as well as x-big fat cat.

Great little crate. Perfect for our new puppy who should top out at 12 lbs. We’ll be using this for crate training but right now it’s her “safe place” when things get a little crazy around the house.

My only complaint is I wish it came with the metal wing nuts since it is an airline approved crate and the airlines require metal nuts and bolts. Love the PetMate brand. Our last dog used her crate for nearly 15 years and 15 plane flights.

It was donated to a shelter upon her death and went to a rescue dog after a recent hurricane.

definitely for a puppy , kittens or a small cat. Mine is 10lb, and it was a little tight for her , but was okay driving 10 min to the vet. In terms of the carrier itself, the carrier is easy to assemble and sturdy.

The latch is secure, so looks like a good product. Just make sure you measure the height/width of you pet so they fit comfortably if you are planning a long travel.

This door saved me. I got sick a couple days after installation and it allowed me to be in bed and not worry about my dogs potty needs. I live in an area that, during the long summers, regularly reaches above 100 degrees.

Now I’m not stressed at work worrying about my dogs being outside as they can stay inside and I don’t have issues with them peeing or marking in the house. It does not come with insulation strips. Save yourself time and money and get the EXPANDABLE weatherstripping.

I tried a regular weatherstripping tape (usually stocked by the dog doors in the hardware stores) and it just didn’t accommodate the irregularities of the small gaps, screws, and latching mechanisms.

I have a double slider. I cut a board to fit in one track of the slider to immobilize that one side. I popped this door in as straight as possible (did not install with screws, so it can easily be removed).

The expandable weatherstripping sticks on the edge of the pet door that will meet the side of the slider that is mobile. I also added Backer Rod to shove in the gap between the door and overlapped trim on the immobile door (usually would overlap where the two sliding doors meet and latch).

Also shoved this in the gap between the immobilized slider and glass pane (overlap) but that gap is a little too big for the Backer Rod to be effective. I plan to cut strips from a pool noodle to shove in that area.

For security, I cut a board for the track of the mobile door. It actually feels more secure than it did with just the locking mechanism. I wish it was double pane with less heat transfer. But it is a fantastic door, since I wasn’t willing to pay double (or more) for an insulated door without knowing if I could make this work with a double slider.

Chewy is always wonderful, so I had no concerns ordering this door, hoping it would work.

I found this door to be fine, and I especially like that the dog opening is set lower than on my previous door, so it’s easier for small or elderly pets to use. Most at this price range are pretty much the same otherwise.

The problem came when I needed to replace the flap. Nightmare! You have to remove the existing screws, and 3 of the 5 had the drive in the head completely misshapen – like whoever installed them ground them into a non-useable shape.

They’re very small and trying to use a tiny screwdriver to remove was impossible. I had to use a needle point pliers to remove them. And do you get a set of screws with the new flap? No you don’t! How much would it have cost PetSafe to include 5 tiny screws with a new flap? So I went to the hardware store to get replacements for the 3 that were mangled, and the rest of the removal went smoothly.

Now when you put the new flap in is when you have your next problem. There are no guidelines and there is about 1/4″ of top space you can use. The flap doesn’t fit in any holes. it’s up to you to decide where in that 1/4″ you want to place the top of the flap.

And then, because the flap is in the middle of the panel as the panel lies flat, there is nothing to support the flap, making getting it straight a guessing game. As it happened, I set the flap slightly too low in the space, and so it buckles when the panel is upright.

All in all, flap replacement for me was exhausting and unsatisfactory, and it was the determining factor to try another brand.

I installed this door right away after unpacking it, it fit great and installed very easily. I then spent an hour showing my not-that-smart, 15-year-old dog how to go through the flap. He did not catch on! I was so disappointed, I had high hopes for him being able to let himself out during the day while I am at work, to help avoid accidents now that he is having issues with incontinence.

I took the door back out, planning to return it. But then, before I shipped it out, I decided to give it one more try. I sewed a temporary “training flap” out of an old pillow case, (weighted with rocks sewn in the hem at the bottom to make it hang nicely, lol), and hung it in the opening.

There were small gaps on the sides so you could see out around the flap, and a breeze would blow the bottom inwards a little bit. I pointed my dog’s nose through the new flap a couple times, and he finally figured things out! After 3 or 4 days I re-installed the factory flap and its been great (it has been only a couple days so far).

The door shipped really fast, was easy to install, the flap so far seals well enough to keep the bugs and weather out, and my dogs are happy. If you have a dog who finds the flap too scary or heavy to push through, try putting in a very light-weight flap that they can easily poke their head through – it worked great for me, and once he got in the habit of using the dog door it wasn’t a big deal at all to put the actual magnetized flap back in.

One comment on the size – my dog is about a 45 pound terrier mix, 21″ tall and 8″ wide using the measurements listed on the website. The Large door opening fits him great, but with his arthritis he is somewhat clumsy making it through the door, the lip at the bottom sometimes catches his back feet and makes him stumble.

My other dog, almost the same size but several years younger, doesn’t have any issues with this. The old dog doesn’t let that stop him though, he probably lets himself in and out a hundred times a day now – No joke.

I have used this product for several years and only had an issue maybe twice. Once it caused Rowdy intense itching but that resolved the next year and only once did I have an issue with him still getting fleas but I honestly think that not treating my yard that year contributed to the problem.

In the year that we had the itching issue every product I tried that year caused the same reaction and I spoke with several people who all had the itching problem regardless of the product they used so I do feel it was an isolated event and we haven’t had that problem since.

So as long as I treat my yard as well as my dog we have no problem with fleas. I highly recommend you do both and I highly recommend this product. Keep in mind that this particular product also keeps the mosquitoes off of him and living in Arkansas one knows that mosquito season is almost all year thanks to our weather and other products do not keep the mosquitoes at bay which means you have to either keep your animal in or put another product on them and I would rather have that protection from one product not multiple.

Around my home it doesn’t matter what time of day you go out, mosquitoes are active all day and evening. I hope this review helps someone to make up their mind. We love it, Marilyn, Rowdy and Semi.

I used this product because it was recommended by Pet Smart. My dog has never had fleas but I used Frontline on him when he was a puppy and he was fine. Now he’s 7, we moved and I noticed a few fleas on him.

So I went and bought this product. I applied it exactly as directed and my dog has a terrible skin burn on his back that seems to be getting bigger. It now has puss and I’ve washed it twice a day with water as best I can without hurting him.

My dog has never yelped or showed signs of pain, other than a slight limp a couple of times, in his life. When I touch this area he yelps, jerks and tries to bite me. Getting bitten by a Dogo Argentino isn’t recommended.

Luckily I’m quick and he’d protect me with his life. But he is in a lot of pain. This is the third day, it showed up the second day after I applied it, and I’m going to the vet tomorrow as it seems to be getting bigger.

I will try to post pictures. Edit*** It doesn’t look like I can post pictures but I’m more than happy to send them to anyone who is thinking of buying this product. This happened the next day after it was applied so there’s nothing else it could be.

After my vet confirms this, I’m going to do my best to see how bad I can affect their business on social media and thru the pet community. Is Bayer K9 Advantix going to pay my vet bill? Doubtful.

I have tried several flea products. So far, only the prescription from the vet works. The Seresto collar is also helpful. I have been using this product for a solid 6 months. 1st month: worked for 3 days and they were back.

We re-applied as recommended and got another 3 days of relief. 2nd month: lasted a week. I thought maybe it builds up in their system and gets better over time. Re-applied as suggested. 3rd month: Actually, my lab mix is doing much better.

My terrier mix passed on so can’t tell, my Pitt/bulldog mix is absolutely covered after a week. Cats got maybe one day of relief. It actually seems to have made them worse this time. I kept trying but it just hasn’t done the job satisfactorily except for my lab.

Maybe it is the fur as he has a nice thicker growth of hair around his neck but it really should not matter. If it does matter, it should be listed as a potential issue. I’m on a fixed income and this is really expensive for me to have something that doesn’t work as described.

It has a good reputation with most people which is what brought me to the product but I’m sorry I’ve spent so much and my pets are miserable.

We built a pet pig enclosure and were easily able to customize it to fit our odd shape. It is attractive and sturdy for our needs. Part of it sits against a small block wall which makes it very sturdy.

We added an open lattice on top for better protection and shade for our piggies. The only drawback for us is that our piggies figured out they could open the gate by jiggling the bottom of the door with their noses to release the latch.

We use a bolt to keep the door from opening now. Easy fix.

I have used these pens for five years. I start replacing whole pens or parts after about 18 mths average. They completely rust out very quickly where male dogs urinate. Pro: Easy set up. Nice looking.

Con: Powder coating doesn’t protect the metal. I would expect at least a five year lifespan for the price. There are other similar products at same price point coated black that last much longer.

really great product: purchased with the 10×5 kennel and was able to make two 5×5 runs for when I foster dogs in addition to my own. When its just my husky that needs it, I’m able to let her have run of both areas by removing one of the smaller panels on the middle section and creating a “dog door” between the two areas.

However it needs to come with additional 2 connector pieces- the way I split the areas required more than the given amount (2 pieces, needs 4) , so I have only one attachment on each side of the middle piece, where the outside all have a top and bottom attachment.

I feel better about leaving my dogs secure in this kennel than if I just had a baby gate in the house- especially good for when I foster dogs and for my mischief finding husky.

Was larger than I thought. I had one at home and thought this was the same size. Wish they had medium on display so I could have envisioned the size of the one I bought. Good price for what I bought.

At home I had difficulty setting up the crate. Keep in mind, I had and used the smaller crate for over 10 years. One of the end piece hooks had overlapped on a side wall and would not release to allow me to open set up the crate.

It was difficult to access with a long flat tip screw driver. After about 25 minutes, I was able to get the side released. The larger crate doesn’t appear to be as sturdy as the smaller crate. The instructions illustrations need to be about 200% larger for folks who have never assembled one of these before.

There are no instructions on how to install the divider fence. Overall I value the purchase. Bigger than I needed, but for short periods of time, I can probably put both my dogs in the one crate, especially where floor space limits to only one crate.

Great value for the money. This crate was easy to get out of the box and unfold into shape. There were two areas to pop out, and that was it! We bought this for our 5mo GSD who is already 60# and quite active while he sleeps ( Flips around a LOT ) Besides the occasional rattle, this has held our little guy without issues.

We mainly use the side door as the in/out for our pup. On this extra large model it is located towards the front of the crate instead of exactly in the middle. The only thing that makes this a little hard is that it is heavy.

We only crate now at night until he becomes less fascinated with our cats, but this has held up nicely when one wants to walk by sit and take a bath infront of a very excited puppy who wants to play 24/7.

This also looks to be easy to refold back up and store for future use after our pup graduates to sleeping in our room at night. Overall quite satisfied with this purchase.

The best crate you can get. The last one I bought was shoddy and not sturdy at all. It made so much noise when my dog would move in it. The handle to lock them in would constantly get stuck and there were times it wouldn’t open unless I wiggled the entire crate.

No problems at all since I bought the Retriever Crate. It’s sturdy, quiet and I haven’t had a single problem with the locking handles. It’s a breeze to fold down when traveling and erecting it is so simple.

Amazing what a difference from the last one. I’ll never buy any other crate but Retriever again.

I had a regular Pet Safe door for my cats for a lot of years but it eventually wore out and would get stuck open and that is not ok in Canadian winters. I decided to look at more weather-resistant options and chose this one despite some mixed reviews.

It arrived within a couple of days and installation was very easy to figure out. It took the cats a few days to get used to the amount of force they needed to use to push through the two magnetic doors but they have figured it out and the larger cat appreciates the extra height this door offers.

I appreciate how weatherproof and secure the three flaps are, there is virtually no cold air coming into the house now. Would give 5 stars but do have to agree that the plastic cover to secure the door is problematic.

I had to use a screwdriver just to remove it from the frame to assemble the door so I would not want to be taking it off and on to keep critters in or out. I just slide a board in front of the door and secure it with a chair to discourage my determined smaller cat from trying to force her way out, as I did with the regular door because she was so ferocious she would force it open despite the locking mechanism.

I do recommend this product, but if the manufacturer could figure out a locking system that is easier to use, it would be perfect. coming into the house now.

I have purchased my second Extreme Weather door for a second exterior door. This new version leaves a lot to be wanted in comparison with the previous model. It looks and feels a lot cheaper for the interior cut out of the door.

The plastic frame and flaps are the same but the gap filler for the thickness of the door is just flat plastic with no side or bottom seals. I also have the older version that has a yellow insulated flap but it also came with a plastic space filler for the bottom of the door gap that let’s the insulated flap make a seal as well as felt seals for the sides.

Makes a much better air seal. Luckily the old version goes from my garage into my house and the new one goes from outside into my garage. I have tried to purchase weather seals from hardware stores but the flaps get stuck in twisted positions not having the proper sized seals.

Cost saving cuts that the consumer actually needs and pays the same price for the door as previous model is my guess. Bring back the better seals and I’ll purchase for future homes.

The doggie door itself is a Godsend. We have 2 st. bernard/doodle/lab mixes and they are constantly in and out. Absolutely love the door! It is PLENTY big enough (the large) for our dogs, so not sure why others on here have said it’s not.

We did not want to have the hassle of installing it ourselves, so we paid a handyman to do it for us. He said it was very simple, we have a solid wood, paneled door. The issue I have is with the closing panel.

It absolutely is a pain to snap on. It will only fit on the inside, not the outside. but according to petsafe, you only need to put it on the inside and it will stop anything from coming in. Absolutely not true! My dogs came barreling through and broke the tabs off of the side while doing so.

It no longer locks on and is useless. Pet safe definitely needs a better closing panel for this door. Highly disappointed in the fact that we have to kennel the dogs if we don’t want them in and out for hours when it’s muddy.

Beetle is a dalmatian/border collie mix with what we affectionately refer to as “dumb tum,” aka IBD. He would throw up several times a day every single day, and after finally finding a vet who would give him a thorough checkup and endoscopy (never feel bad about looking for another vet! Health is a priority for our pups!) we discovered that Beetle has very severe IBD.

On top of being on steroids for the rest of his life, we now have to give Beetle this hydrolyzed veterinary diet to ensure that his Dumb Tum stays happy and healthy. Since we switched to this food and started up his ‘roids, the bug has been feeling so much better.

He’s finally doing zoomies again and always wanting to play! The one issue I have with this formula is that it doesn’t fill him up at all. Even with twice the regular amount of food, we have to supplement his diet with pasta and sweet potatoes to make sure he feels nice and full.

He’s hungry much more often now, so I’m hoping Purina can develop a formula that’ll stick with him a little longer. I understand that a big pro to this food is that it’s almost entirely fat free since Dumb Tums can’t digest fat well, but Purina is great about innovating new answers to old questions.

Let’s hope they figure this one out so I don’t have to keep peeling sweet potatoes every night!.

We have a senior poodle/shepherd mix that is allergic to literally everything. In desperation, we turned to Purina, of which we had little belief in the company. Sorry, Purina. After only a week, we took back everything we thought.

It worked. The food agreed with our dog and it’s now the only food we’ll use. Do I think it’s holistic? No. I don’t know what process takes place to make this food the way it is. For us, we had nothing to lose.

Our dog is 13. If he was a younger dog, I’d probably be looking for a better solution. On another note, Chewy needs to provide the other flavors as this one (vegetarian) is the most “boring” for our dog.

It comes in Salmon and Chicken flavors without worry about an allergic reaction as Purina insists that the flavors are hypoallergenic. That being said, maybe you should start with this one so you don’t add the extra worry of flavors.

It’s what I did and then when I added the flavor I knew it made no difference except that my dog enjoyed it. I think this food would also be a great choice to pull back from all food until you can locate the problem.

Our dog developed severe and chronic pancreatitis. It would not go away and every time we would think we would be in the clear, it came back. He had lost his spirit and more than half of his weight and couldn’t gain it back.

We had tried everything. Every brand of food, raw diets, fresh cooked chicken and rice, and nothing was helping. We were at a point where the vets didn’t even know how to help him. But I wasn’t willing to quit looking for help.

So I sought help from another vet, and she ran all the same tests and her theory was that MAYBE he was allergic to the meat and/or just couldn’t process it. So she told me to try this food to test her theory and I’ll admit I wasn’t too keen on it because I had heard horror stories surrounding Purina.

But I was willing to try anything. So, we switched him to this food and within a week he was better. He started gaining his weight back, and regained his strength and energy. He was finally back to himself.

I can’t even tell you how much I cried in pure relief and excitement. He has now been on this diet for two years and we will never take him off of it. It is pricey, but it’s worth it to keep him happy and healthy.

Like I said before, I was weary of Purina before this and now we have both of our dogs on Purina diets. I can never thank Purina enough for saving our boy.

I took my now 5 month old kitten (4 LB 6 oz) to the vet yesterday and decided I should get him a different carrier, one that would be more comfy for him and easier for me to carry too! Again, he is a 5 month old kitten, unfortunately he JUST fits into this carrier.

Also, the shoulder/crossbody strap is impossible to latch on because the plastic on the latch has no give. I’ve had other Sherpa pet totes in the past and I wish this were made in a similar manner, providing strong support on the bottom but it does not.

I am concerned after reading other reviews about kitties clawing their way out. I would be mortified. It seems to be of decent quality in terms of the fabrication and stitching. I do not want to return but feel the size is a major issue and for $30.

I’d rather not have a carrier that can only be used for a few months. If you have an especially small pet I think this would make a wonderful carrier.

I bought this crate a few weeks before picking up my new puppy as it was recommended by our dog trainer and has many positive reviews. I’m sorry to say it did not live up to expectations and had to be sent back.

The crate was difficult to put up and did not pop up as it should due to the clips being caught under the side panel. Once we got that sorted out and assembled with the help of a store assistant we found the side door was out of line and there was a gap of about an inch at the top.

My biggest issue was the fact that all the catches were sharp and had not been finished off and there were gaps on the hinges and bolts where they had not been welded together. It just seemed to be badly finished as if it had been made in a hurry and not been given quality checks.

Staff in store were very helpful and opened up and assembled another of these crates but that one was no better and had the same issues with sharp, unfinished hinges and catches. I’m really disappointed in the quality for the price and have now had to look for an alternative elsewhere.

From the many good reviews online perhaps I was just unlucky and this is a recent issue with a batch but if you are buying one I would check the finishes when you assemble it. I had a few cuts and nicks in my hands from it so I would worry about putting my pup inside.

This is the first dog crate I’ve bought and we got it for our new Labrador puppy. We chose it because it has the divider so you can start out only using part of it when the dog is small. It’s hard to find a crate that includes this useful item.

This crate is sturdy and well put together, it has a front door and side door and the catches slide across easily. We put blankets on ours to make our puppy feel secure and he is getting on with it very well.

I would highly recommend this crate!.

I bought the extra large wire kennel from tractor supply. At some point while we were gone, a wire came loose from its weld and stuck through our GSD’s front paw. It entered about a inch above his nail and went completely through.

We came home and heard him yelping from the driveway. He would let us touch his paw to try to get it out. I don’t know how long he was stuck there. I had to cut the wire (bar) above his paw and pull it the rest of the way through.

Absolutely terrible!!!.

GREAT FOR WEIGHT GAIN MUSCLE BUILD! My female German Shepherd has always had troubles gaining weight and has tummy issues with most other dog food. Shes very active and runs around and plays lots. The lamb and rice has been amazing and she’s finally at a good weight.

I would be careful I have been free feeding I now will start doing the recommended meal size for her as she reached goal weight. She’s a very picky eater and normally will starve herself till she gets treats or meat “human food” No more human food though unless it’s meat of some kind.

With this food she eats it all. I do switch flavours since I have tried this brand so she doesn’t seem to get bored of the food it’s been 6 months now. I have tried everything before this except raw since my vet discouraged it.

wet food, dehydrated kibble that you add water to, blue, Iams. This food is definitely for active dogs and this brand even has a more packed variety higher or lower calorie,protein, fat intake. I simply like this one its perfect for her.

Also if you think it’s to expensive I think it’s worth it 1 she eats less. less poop on the other brands that don’t have the higher protein she can eat 8+ cups of food on this bag she eats like 4 ish a day and she’s content also she was free feeding up till now.

Great dog food, I’m an AKC breeder of merit and my wolfhounds love this kibble. I cannot give it 5 stars because it is very expensive; however, it’s one of the few products on the market that contains beef & corn (grainless = hypertrophic cardiomyopathy heart disease), but does NOT contain known allergens such as peas, soybeans, or beet pulp.

I’m stuck paying the price. The 30/20 is effective at keeping weight on my active dogs. I also supplement with additional fats, raw meat and vegetables to maintain weight when necessary. Shipping is horrible.

I order five bags at a time and pallet delivery is consistently ten days late from what was promised. Ordering two bags at a time is more timely but not always punctual. Another issue is that this product is consistently out of stock at any of my local TS stores and sometimes online as well.

The other 30/20 flavors are not equivalent, the dogs have less appetite for the chicken or salmon, and their coats aren’t as shiny. The bison costs even more with less added benefits….

Our puppy needs to switch to adult food. He has been on Purina’s Puppy Formula for the last year and loves it. He actually loves all food. He even begs for salad and carrots when we feed our rabbits! But.

no amount of coaxing will get him to ingest even a single pellet of ProPlan Sport. We mixed with his old pellets and he actively selected only the old pellets and if he accidentally got even one new pellet he spit it out immediately.

We thought it was him just not liking change in pellets, but this morning, just to test things out, we bought him a bag of Nutro brand food from our local grocery store. He has never had this brand or kind of food and he completely accepted it and ate it.

We tried again with the ProPlan. he (an otherwise voracious eater) still has not managed to stomach and eat a single piece. If he wouldn’t have accepted the Nutro brand I would’ve thought the problem was with the dog not liking change.

But as such I cannot in good conscience feed him this or even recommend it to anyone.

My neighbors have a bunch of outdoor cats they don’t take care of so my dog gets fleas, worms, etc. when she goes outside. My dog is indoors 95% of the time and only goes outside to potty, sunbathe, and bark at the mail man.

I’ve used this brand for YEARS with my past dogs and never had an issue. That is until now. The past couple of months I have found 1,2, sometimes 3 fleas on my dog. I’ve been bit by a flea already. I don’t know if the formula changed but it’s not as strong as before.

I ALWAYS find a live flea on my dog. I buy this product since it’s supposed to PREVENT fleas, I don’t want fleas coming into the house and breeding becoming a bigger problem. I’m super tempted to try out frontline since although it doesn’t prevent, I heard it’s stronger so prevention isn’t an issue since it kills fleas quicker.

I have looked all over for the perfect crates from my dogs. I have a German Shepard and a Belgian Malinois and a Chevy Suburban. We often foster but had a cage behind the rear seats to keep them in the back.

Well. the cage didn’t keep the fosters from chewing my seat strap or seat belt, or my Belgian from licking the window or plastic molding in the back due to her anxiety or to ANY of them from being tossed around during the ride.

So we wanted crates and found these that fit perfectly in our suburban with the rear seats up. Also big enough to hold my two girls and keep them safe or any foster. The best though is they were even cheaper than the factory store.

The factory store wants 10% more and about $200 in shipping for 2. The large size kennels are too big for the rear seat to be up in a suburban but intermediate fits great with even a little room to store their stuff (ie food, water).

The crates offer pre-molded screw holes to attach accessories to the kennel or to one another. Just all around perfect fit for us and at a great value!.

We have tried many Kennels/Crates for our dog, she suffers from Anxiety and nothing has kept her as safe as this kennel. Any metal kennel, regardless of how indestructible it has advertised to be, we have come home to a scraped up bleeding dog that is out in the house and destroying things.

She is a pitbull and she chews through anything. The kennels that are plastic with the metal grates on the side she chews on the door and breaks the metal on the sides and at this point has ruined her teeth.

We have put her in the Ruff Land Performance kennel twice, once for two hours, great success and once for an entire day. She was calmer, and no blood or destruction to the crate. Wish I had seen this crate 9 years ago.

Another feature we like is that it has a flat floor, rather than one that is either metal grating or has a few round circles protruding to allow stacking of kennels. We are amazed and so thankful to have this crate.

I would recommend this crate to any dog owner. I can’t say enough good about it.

So far so good. Only used it once since picking it up. Seems solid, well built, door fits and functions well. Has threaded inserts for tie downs and ganging straps. I also bought an Intermediate size so I need to find a way to gang them together in the truck to make tying down easier.

As always, the staff at Sportsman’s warehouse was awesome. I had to buy at two separate stores and they made the online and in-person experience flawless. 4-stars for now as I have no long-term experience with the kennels yet.

I have had this system for about a year nowand I love it. I have a black lab mini aussie mix she gets so excited when she sees people and other animals that she would jump my fence and take off. When I lived in my camper at the lake a friend who also lived there had one of the original PetSafe pet containment systems he had setup outside his camper it worked great for him.

So when my dog started jumping the fence I thought maybe PetSafe will work for us so I purchased this unit. The setup is really easy just follow the instructions I also watched some YouTube videos showing setup and training.

It wasn’t hard to train her. She knows where the barrier is and she respects it, she can also hangout with me in the garage while I’m working on projects which she love’s to do, will not go past the garage door no matter what, I love that.

I can now take her collar off and she will still stay within the barrier I still keep it on her just in case but only have it set on the audible alert as soon as she hears it she backs up. The best part about it is that it seemed to help make it easier to train her on other things, like training her to be on a leash and walk next to me instead of dragging me, I also trained her to stay out of certain rooms, also she had to stay kenneled up at night and whenever we left the house because of chewing on anything but now she hardly ever needs to be in the kennel.

Thanks to PetSafe I have peace of mind knowing my dog will stay within her own yard. The system is a bit pricey but Worth every penny.

Gave our dog and family freedom and peace of mind. After having our rescue dog for around 18 months, he figured out every way to escape our fence when we let him out to go to the bathroom. We tried everything and he got so comfortable escaping that he would even do it in front of us.

We had no choice but to take him out on a leash and it wasn’t fun for any of us. This system set up in no time and our dog quickly learned his new boundaries. He’s totally tuned into the beep and hasn’t gone close enough to the circle boundary to get a shock since the first week.

The only hiccup we’ve had is when he jumped into the SUV it shocked him (we weren’t going anywhere, he just loves to get in and out of the car if the door is open) and our good boy who loves any kind of car ride became skittish of the car for a few days.

The car was inside the boundary, so we assume it must have a height limit that he reached by jumping into the car. I like that we can take it with us if we travel or if we ever move. Battery life seems appropriate.

We are so thankful that he gets to explore our backyard again and we can breathe easier about him doing so!.

I’ve had this unit for about 2/3 years now and I’m coming back to review the product and how it’s changed our life of being dog parents. I have golden doodles and poodles. I’ve also had a GSD on this fence as well.

I initially got this fence because it was wireless and my dogs kept traveling all around my residence. I don’t like my animals going onto others property whenever they please. When I first purchased the product I put the flags up immediately then walked each dog along the perimeter of the fence.

It only took 2 days max for all of my dogs to learn their perimeter. I currently have 4 on this on device. The main until stays in my kitchen and they have a perimeter that allows them to go about 5 ft from the edge of my yard and all around in a circular shape around my property.

I do have my perimeter set on the shortest setting but that is way more then they need. They also can go inside their building as long as they stay within the perimeter of the fence. They have learnt their boundaries and had a few shocks to understand it completely but if I walk outside of the perimeter I always tell them to stay to remind them and they do wonderful and will sit and wait for me to return into the safe zone.

This unit has been amazing and I have no issues or negative to say about it. It’s worth the cost and being wireless is the big bonus. Just make sure to pay attention to the collars lights and you won’t have any issues.

My dogs can go without collars and still remain inside the safe zone. I’ve recommended the stay and play to all of my dog friends. It really is a lifesaver because my dogs aren’t chained and they come in the house and go through the doggy door as they want throughout the day.

I no longer have to worry about where they are or what they may be in. Don’t hesitate but this fence.
