I take a lot of vitamins and have been doing so for over 30 years. I estimate about 90 pills a day. I used to buy most of my vitamins from a Swanson competitor but in recent years that competitor has drastically cut down their inventory and availability to the point where I started buying much more from Swanson.

Since that switch, I have noticed an uptick of diarrhea and I think I’ve pinpointed it to this particular Swanson product- B-50 capsules. I don’t know if it’s because of Swanson’s formula or the fact that the product comes in capsules instead of caplets, but if I take more than 1 of these per day, I notice drastic changes in the form of diarrhea.

The aforementioned competitor sells their B-50 in the form of caplets (when it’s available from them) and that seems to be the reason that I used to be able to take 4 of those per day in 4 divided doses (along with all the other supplements I usually take) without suffering from diarrhea.

It could just be that Swanson’s formula may be actually more potent than the competitor’s but that doesn’t help if I want to keep high blood levels of the product all day long by taking 4 per day. If you only intend to take 1 per day, Swanson’s may be for you but beware if you intend to take more.
