20 Best Dirt Bike Paddle Tire (2023 Updated)

I personally would never buy these again. These are not sold by Walmart and they took a month for me to get them. I have never seen such crappy wrapping for mailing something that someone paid hard earned money for.

I wish I would have taken a picture of how they arrived. They were literally put into to small of a bag and then taped to death.

This seems to be the perfect tire for my purposes. Replacing worn out tires on a “Garden Way”type cart. I was a little concerned about going from a smooth rib design to this knobby style. The actual knobs are not too aggressive and actually seem to perform better.

How they would work on a BMX bike, I haven’t a clue. All in all a great tire.

The tire thread matches exactly what came on the bike originally. Great price for an oddball, hard to find tire too.

Bought this for an unusual application, rear tire for Ural 2WD with sidecar. Big fan of the Kenda TrakMaster, wanted to try this for the sandy NJ Pines. Went 100/90-19 low profile to get lower effective gearing on the tall geared Ural.

Downside is the skinnier footprint reduced flotation a little. It dug down a little too much initially, but reducing air pressure helped. After that it was pretty impressive, never bogging down in the deep sand and while there isn’t a lot of clay mud in the Pines, the slop we did find couldn’t clog up the open tread.

When you’re on the throttle it tends to push the bike in the direction the rear tire is headed, so you’ll need something agressive-ish or a knobby up front to retain good steering input. I recommend this for any rides where deep loose sand is expected.

Too soon to tell on tread life, but so far it looks like it will wear a little quicker than the TrakMaster, both tires see a bit of pavement getting to the good riding spots in the Pines.

Having an underpowered 2013 yz250f, you need all the grip possible to lay down what horses you have. Going slightly wider ( 110 ) allows greater grip, particularly in loose dry sand AND wet morning loose-groomed soil conditions.

This rear tire grabs and holds, rather than SPIN away your power with wasted roosts. Does NOT slick in mud !!! Excellent concept of intermittent knobbies with paddles, spaced well apart. Excelkent life if driven only in soft conditions.

Will not disappoint.

Absolutely love this tire. Been riding it at Gopher Dunes (Canadian National Track) with great. Tons of grip in the sand in a straight or leaned over. Also works well in mixed soft terrain. Used this in their trail system, which has roots rocks, soft dirt, but is mainly sandy.

Held up great, didnt kick off any roots or rocks. Cant say enough good things about the Mad Sticky!.

WOW! What a traction monster. This tire hooks up wet or dry, sand or rock, mud or dirt. I installed it with a Michelin bib mousse and it out performed my expectations during a hare scramble.

Best sand tire ever, but what is truly awesome is the tire works every where if u have tracks that are sand with hard pack areas this tire works in both areas no compromise. Tire wear is very good if you mostly ride sand and doesn’t drop off that much unless u ride rocks.

But it still works perfect.

Having an MX-12 mounted up in the trailer always ready to go is a must. Never know what the track is going to be like day to day. $$$$ savings is huge with the MX-14’s out (if you can even get one).

Definitely a cheater tire in the mud and soft conditions. I run the front on 80% of my XC races until the tracks get really tried out. The front has awesome grip in the soft dirt and still gets good grip on the harder packed dirt they just wear fast on the harder packed soil.

Now let’s get to the rear tire. In the super soft to soft soil they are the perfect cheater tire until you get to off camber stuff. There’s just not much side bite to this tire. So you really have to feather the throttle and not put as much power down or they slip out big time.

As long as you can square up to a hill climb these things will really bite into the soil. And they don’t fall off much when it starts to dry out during a race. But being a soft compound they will wear fast on harder packed soil.

I have a set of extra rims with these mounted up on them in the event of a rainy muddy race. And being the first 6 races were mud races these tires saw a lot of action this year.

Worst front tire I’ve used in 20 years of riding and racing. Ordered it in 2015, and it was date coded Oct. 2012, so apparently they’re not selling many of these. Mine was probably already dried out, but it was not particularly good in sand or mud, and it was downright dangerous on mixed or hard surfaces.

Feels very vague, and washes out everywhere. The knobs are too small and too rounded, so they fold right over on harder surfaces, and don’t move any sand in softer surfaces. I would recommend something like a pirelli scorpion MX410 tire much more highly than this for sand.

This is the first tire I’ve ever removed before it even showed any wear, it’s that bad. Machine this part was bought for: 2006 KAWASAKI KX250F.

The Rear gets 5 stars. The Front gets 1 star. I can’t rate them separately, so I gave them a (5+1)/2 = 3 stars on average. Get an MX3S (formerly MX32) Front instead. The MX11 Front works about the same as the MX3S Front in a very soft stuff, but once anything harder comes, even a single turn in an otherwise soft track, up you *will* crash.

Sometimes at a high speed the front will wash out and you will go over the handlebars. The MX11 Front never outshines the MX3S tire in anything, so skip it.

I recently bought a set of Sand Stars for my Wildcat Sport. These tires performed flawlessly at Little Sahara State Park in Oklahoma this past weekend. Great hookup and handling at 8 psi. They helped me keep up with larger faster machines.

I don’t write reviews really ever so the fact that I’m writing a review means this tire rocks!!! First time riding in Sand here in WA at Moses Lake Sand Dunes. I had no problems hooking up and the stability while riding in the sand was perfect.

I didn’t put the front tire on as I already had a starcross tire that came with the bike. I was extremely happy with this tire. 4 days riding in the sand and there is zero wear on the tire, it looks brand new.

Ok so the sand it was great, but I’m lazy and didn’t want to swap wheels back to the dirt tire that came with the bike, also a starcross. So I left it on the bike and took it trail riding here in WA at Capital Forest.

If you have ever ridden here you’ll know that there are a lot of rocks from don’t hit them size to loose rock covering some corners. I had previously ridden here on the tire that came with the bike and it worked but it was a challenge as I was constantly loosing traction and sliding all over.

With this tire I had zero problems riding in these conditions. This tire boosted my confidence level to where I was able to just rip through these trails. On the tight turns with loose rocks and a mix of bigger rocks this tire hooked up every time all the time.

No sliding down the banks in the turn or into rivets in the trail. The traction on the side of the tire is a beautiful thing. -m-2013 KAWASAKI KX450F–.

I bought this tire instead of the mx32. I’m a C class rider, and ride mostly milestone. The tracks is muddy in the morning and hard pack with square edges in the afternoon. The tire does pretty well in the mud, it doesn’t have as much grip in the super wet stuff as the mx32, but isn’t that bad either.

It does really well in the soft and medium terrain and great in the medium to hard pack. So far it has been breaking down slower than the mx32. The front tire especially (soft in front, medium in rear) hardly has any noticeable wear, but the back is about halfway done.

All in all, the loss in traction in the in the super sot stuff isn’t that noticeable, and is worth it to me, for a tire that lasts a little longer. I’ve been running it for about 10-12 hours now.

Seems like a pretty solid offering for a true dual sport tire. Loud on the road, but grips pretty good. I have about 1500km on it on an xr650r, and it is in good shape. I think longevity will be pretty decent for full knobbie.

I also got the 606 front. Can’t say i recommend that. Feels skittish offroad on FSR gravel, and is so hard to turn in on road i find myself doing the opposite of countersteering. Ps both are quite difficult to mount.

Rear is worse. So stiff, i could barely force it wide enough to slip the rim in to start.

This is my 4th 606, 2nd for my KLR very high km’s. Replaces a similar tire, though a great tire, it wore much faster at a higher price. I ride 50/50, ideally with more logging roads than pavement. It is a tight install, but it’s the 1st I’ve installed myself in many years.

Many trips on the Dempster Hwy, this would be my choice of tire. I am a moderately paced dirt road rider, I like a stable tire, this is a long time compromise tire after using countless others.

Purchased this tire for a sand race in NM. I was pleasantly surprised at how well it performed. After two days of racing 5 Hrs. It showed signs of wear and a couple side lugs were chunking. This track was not all sand but had some short rocky sections in it as well as some roots.

So the chunking was not a total surprise. As far as forward bite this thing is AWESOME!!! Cornering not so much but was pretty good if you stayed in the throttle. I would recommend this tire over any paddle tire for the dunes for the plan fact that you can actually turn with out the fear of the paddles coming out of the sand and you still benefit from the forward pull.

Would have given 5 start if not for it chunking. Desert A rider. Machine this part was bought for: 2015 KAWASAKI KX450F.

For those who ride in Ontario: I’ve tested the rear tire at RJ Motosport & Track 15. RJ is mostly soft sand with wet spots after grooming. The traction was perfect when I used the intermediate side of the tire.

Track 15 is mostly sandy but it’s packed. I drifted a lot n the corners.

After our first order went missing during shipment FortNine had a new one shipped as soon as possible. Tire is great and son loves it. Rides daily and says the traction is great.

I use this tire on my 2011 crf 250f. I ride mx on hard to intermediate terrain, traction-pretty good/avg. Tire is multi directional but works much better in the “soft” direction on any surface. It,s best feature by far is that it does not shed knobs-super tough! If you want the ultimate traction and lightweight-this tire isn,t it,but if you want a tire thats long lasting and flat resistant-go for it.

I used to use another leading brand I’d sand tire but heard great things about these. Bridgestone had a rebate going on so I thought I would give them a try. So best gripping sand tire I’ve had. Love them.

I purchased a set of these for my ’17 CRF450R, and they are fantastic! After the stock tires wore out, I replaced them with some Bridgestones, which were pretty good, but I wasn’t getting the same feel and traction out of them I was used to with Dunlops.

When I installed these, there was an immediate, notable improvement. Incredible grip on a variety of surfaces, including hard-pack, predictable handling, and easy turning are just a few of their best features.

I can now run about 1 PSI lower air pressure, with no loss of traction, and better control. Compared to the outgoing MX32s, these are definitely a step forward. They inspire confidence, and eagerly encourage me to dig deeper, go harder and lean farther, rewarding me with compliance and grip for days.

Longevity is yet to be seen, as they’ve only been on the bike for about 4 – 5 hours, but, so far, they’re holding up great! Definitely recommended! -m-2017 HONDA CRF450R–.

We went for an early season ride to a private sand track, no jumps, but it gave me a great comparison to my stock tires. I was able to corner with more grip and no tucking the front. The rear had great acceleration in both the sand and harder packed berms.

Should have got these sooner!.

I’ve gone on a few rides with this K785 120/80 on the back of my bike and I like it, it’s a good all around tire. It may be a tiny bit hard for trails I ride but still a good tire!

Ran first race with it awesome traction all day, rocks roots no problem, Ate them Up very impressive tire!!!

Worked well for hard enduro on wet rocks and mud. Holding up well but only used on trail with large rocks and mud.

Hands down best tire for the soft dirt and mud! I’m getting ready to order my 5th one. Soft tire so don’t expect it to last forever. Best grip for hill climbs!

Bought a front/rear set of these Dunlops. They give the old Wing nice neutral handling with good wet or dry grip. The handling remained good as the tires wore. I got 9000km from the rear, which is slightly disappointing, but the front is holding up well so I bought another rear.

A lighter bike would probably get better mileage. Overall good value for money at the price point.

I am not sure what to say about treat life, since I have maybe 150 miles on the tires. But they feel great on my vintage 1985 Kawasaki LTD 454. I was expecting very little grip, but they feel solid so far.

I didn’t realize how much the deterioration of the previous tires (Perelli Super Venom) was affecting the handling. This bike is never going to handle well (not enough weight in the front tire, to much flex and bounce in the rear suspension) but its doing much better with D404s front and back than it was with just the D404s in the rear.

Anyone who has researched these tires will see that they are NOT designed for heavy bikes. I suspect that allows Dunlop to optimize them for mid-weight bikes where they can be compliant and semi-sticky without having to suffer especially short tread life or sloppy handling, which is what I would expect if you put them on a big Harley, for example.

What I can’t figure out is how RevZilla was able to offer these for SO much less $$ than any other vendor. I was actually considering getting the equivalent Shinko tire (they have one that is almost an exact copy of this design) but there was no point.

The Dunlap ended up being cheaper. I had also considered getting another “sport tire” as the previous owner of this bike had done. There was definitely no need for that. I would have been throwing away cash for no benefit given the nature of the bike.

this was definitely the right tire. And the price was just spectacular. So I guess I can see the point that of the question about the manufacturing date. I see absolutely no evidence that these are not new tires.

My favorite tire! Amazing traction on the rocks! Haven’t found anything grippier. Ok in the loam and loose stuff. Lasts pretty well and doesn’t chunk for me. If your real fast, a spinner or super aggressive you would probably shred it.

I have no problem getting 35 hours out of it and hooks up great on the rocks even when it just looks destroyed. I’ve run it with Tubliss and a bib and its maybe a little better bib tire as the carcass is pretty flexible and thin.

However I think that contributes to the amazing traction. -m-2018 KTM 250 XC-W (E-Start)–.

This tire came on my new fx350 and normally I start preparing to replace tires ever 30 hours or so. I’m at 30 hours now, and I suspect I may be able to double that now with these tires, as they look still almost brand new, with just a bit of rounding on the knobs, and I don’t ride gently.

These tires hook up absolutely amazingly, and I haven’t even gotten the chance to install tubliss. I can’t imagine how good that combo will be. I ride everything but sand, and they are perfect for single track.

I can’t praise these tires enough. I seriously doubt I will ever buy any other tire again. I have tried countless different tires hoping to find the “one” and I believe I have finally found it. This far outperforms the Goldentyre that was twice as expensive and didn’t last very long.

Extremely impressed, if you’re on the fence, buy it. You won’t be disappointed.

When other tires couldnt grip the northern BC wet slick clay, mud, and steep climbs with roots in fsj and chetwynd, I listened to riders in local club and got this. Honestly it took rides that were frustrating, and border line survival, struggles to just get out of the trails and made them fun.

very reasonable challenges. When dry it is unnecessary for most riding. it’s stupid capable. 3-30k rides and the tires finally showed signs of wear (slight tear marks front of knob after third ride when I travelled fast up dry hard pack and rocky climbs).

Holds up well. I use with nitro mouse. Feels great. Hard to mount. really did not wanna seat the bead. So. use alot of lube on the bead. Downside- it takes away some of the challenge. Upside. in worst wet terain you still have a smile.

I ride to have fun. This tire makes it fun. Any more than techy slow single track. and the speed will dissolve this tire fast. Once back south, and in faster terrain Ill switch back to a different tire.

I received a slightly malformed tire, 90/90-21 size. One sidewall varies in height slightly around its circumference causing the front of the bike to porpoise/hop up and down slightly at certain speeds.

Continental have not been good to deal with as I installed the tire myself, claiming I didn’t use bead lube (I did) and that the tube was pinched in the bead (it’s not, I’ve verified). If continental comes through on this I will update this review based on that outcome, but as of now, I recommend not buying continental tires based on the quality of the tire I received, and the defensive/dismissive response from continental on my warranty claim.
