20 Best Direct Vent Gas Stove (2023 Updated)

A little background on me. I have worked in professional kitchens and graduated from Le Cordon Bleu, and my wife grew up cooking with her family all the time, everything always from scratch. We had a decent gas stove, but I always find myself cooking on “high” trying to get pans hot enough, unless I was putting something on simmer or whatever.

But, unless the dish requires finesse, in a restaurant you are generally cooking hot and fast, it gives everything that nice caramelization and greater depth of flavor, but you have to watch what you are coming closer.

Anyways, now that we have the KFX360, we not only have more room to cook, but I now have to actually pay attention to the level of the flame and what I’m cooking, this thing puts out some SERIOUS heat.

The dual rocket burners are fantastic, and the layout of the burner sizes was very well thought out. Compared to my old 4 burner gas stove, the burner sizes are as follows Old – New Small – none Medium – small Large – medium – LARGE – Rocket burners (BOIL NOW) The slide out shelves in the oven and porcelain insides really makes this feel like a $8,000 top of the line oven.

It cooks nice and even, even without the convection fan on. With it, is just icing on the cake, and a joy to use. We really couldn’t be happier with this stove so far. We’ve had it for over a month, as I didn’t want to write a review that was like “looks fantastic, can’t wait to use it”.

That’s not really a “review” in my book. But we’ve used it almost every day, and it’s a delight every time!.

I’ll start off by saying that I am super picky and not easily impressed. I waited to post a review until I had thoroughly used the products. I’ve been using my dual fuel range and vent hood for several months and I couldn’t be more happy with my purchase.

I was very hesitant purchasing something online without being able to touch it first. The quality of all the components are excellent. The vent hood is powerful and quiet. the Range is rugged and cleans up easily.

The knobs are heavy and solid and turn smoothly. But the thing I like most about KUCHT is their customer service. It is by far the best experience of any appliance company I’ve ever dealt with. When you call KUCHT you are prompted to press 1 for customer service or 2 for technical support.

Literally within three rings you are speaking to the person you need to talk to. You are NOT transferred from department to department or waiting 30 minutes on hold. When I purchased my dual fuel range I needed the liquid propane model but due to supply chain issues there were none in stock so I purchased the natural gas version and they sent me The LP conversion kit.

When I was replacing the orifices, I dropped one of them into the burner assembly and it fell into the top of the oven cavity. I called technical support and they walked me step-by-step on removing the bullnose and retrieving the part which was not difficult at all.

They told me once I put everything back together they would do a video chat to make sure everything on the range was functioning properly. Wedid a video conference it was an amazing experience. I have called support several times with various general questions and I am amazed at how fast my calls and questions are answered.

I can’t say enough good things about their customer support. I would definitely buy from them again.

How I came to selecting this Company and Appliance package is kind of relevant. Our previous Range by a well known manufacturer was considerably more expensive, about the same size and had fancy display.

Great while it lasted. Unfortunately, the microprocessor chip on the controlee panel went bad. Not covered by warranty, replacement board not available, sent off for repair to two different repair facilities both returned unable to acquire the “microprocessor chip”.

To the point now. I do not miss any of the fancy features of previous Ranges, I actually very much appreciate the simplicity of this product. This is by far the best cooking/working Range we have ever had.

Trying to think of an honest negative comment to be objective but drawing a blank, this is a great product.

I had another brand of stove, but it never kept temperature in the oven. I love to cook and make some elaborate or delicate dishes that require a consistent temperature. I decided that I needed another stove which would maintain the oven temperature.

I started looking for stoves that had consistent oven temperature as a primary feature as well as a dependable in terms of repairs and maintenance. I also had a budget limit, and when I foound the Zline, I knew that I had found the stove.

I have had the stove for three months now, and I am so happy with the product. My pies, biscuits and terrines have turned out beautifully at the accurate temperatures. I couldn’t be happier with this stove!.

I have only had this range for a few weeks and am absolutely thrilled with the performance. Cooking is a passion of mine and have braised, baked, fried and saute’d so far without issues. High output with even flames provide the right cooking experience.

I have previously owned LG and GE ranges, they cannot compare to the ZLINE. Due to the layout of my kitchen I did not think I could ever have a high-end range like this. This is true old style cooking which I really enjoy.

No overly gross electronics. I use an oven thermometer that has been spot on with the selected. Truly happy!.

This range replaced an expensive Kitchen Aid range that was a piece of computerized junk. My initial reason for purchasing the THOR was it DID NOT have a computer. A computer board blew out within the first month I had the Kitchen Aid and they wanted over $500.

00 for the board. When I bought the THOR I threw the Kitchen Aid range away. The burners in the THOR put out a fairly wide pattern that places even heat under the pans virtually eliminating burning the food.

The oven temperature is dead on the money. I use an independent thermometer and it holds the temperature perfectly. For the customers complaining about the dial calibration, it is very easy to recalibrate the knob.

I only use the oven for baking foods like breads and do not cook food items in the oven that can cause potential cleaning and odor buildup issues. That completely eliminates oven cleaning. There are better, more efficient ways to cook those types of foods with stand alone infrared convection ovens.

I cook meats in a NuWave because it holds time and temperature exactly, I can view the meat thermometer through the clear dome and put the internal temperature of the meat exactly where I want it. The components of the NuWave that come in contact with the food can be put in the dishwasher.

This keeps the oven in the THOR clean and there is no buildup of odors.

We bought a Thor range and had problems right away. First, it was the issue of converting from natural gas to propane – you have to buy a kit and hire a professional to install it or you void the warranty! Then, the temperature was incorrectly set, so we had to have a service company come and make an adjustment (we had to find a service company, Thor was incapable of doing it).

We love the way it looks, and the simmer burner is fantastic – but that’s where our joy ends. The oven takes an hour to get heated up enough to hold temp, otherwise you end up under baking your goodies.

The igniters sometimes don’t work, and sometimes work on their own when you’re using a different burner. The knobs get so hot when you bake that you almost need oven mitts to operate them, and the racks are so cheaply made that they are difficult to slide in and out unless you lift them up slightly (and risk splashing liquid out of your pan and onto the hot surface in the oven and smoking everything out), then you also end up extending the rack too far into the oven and the ball stop gets behind the guide and that becomes an issue trying to get that unstuck without ruining whatever your baking.

Currently the oven will not stay at temp and drops down to ~140 degrees (F) and will not rise above that – and the company refuses to even reply to our request for service. We will never purchase another Thor product.

Never.

In love with this Thor package. This is the range I have been waiting for. Burner accuracy like you would not believe, the simmer which I use often is excellent. With on/off burners The pots were always boiling over and making a mess.

This gives a gentle continuous flame for the perfect simmer for gumbo. The oven rack system is excellent and temp. selection is spot on. In addition this thing is built like a tank.

I bought this unit to replace a dual wall oven, increase burner availability and have a griddle. However, the griddle has been VERY disappointing. First, when the oven was installed, it was installed so the burners and stove was level; however, this meant the griddle was not level and all grease/liquids sloped to the back of the griddle.

So I adjusted the unit to have the griddle slightly slope forward so grease would drain into the grease trap. However, because the grease tray is not the same width as the griddle, grease was not draining into the tray.

Also, when pulling the tray out, it was nearly impossible to remove it without grease spilling out of the tray. I’m readjusting the level to account for the burners and not the griddle. My recommendation for this product would be to have some sort of deflector redirecting the grease to the middle of the griddle in addition to having a better method of extracting the grease tray without having to spill its contents.

Also, the griddle does indeed take at least 10 minutes to warm up, but it’s continuously cycling through a heating cycle. It does not maintain a constant temperature. On the positive side, the incredible amount of burner coverage and variability is a very nice feature.

Thought this was a great value in this price range and chose Thor over a close competitor at Costco. So far, not a fan. From the outset, BB delivery service failed to install the unit. Crew just refused.

Had to beg them to put the unit on our deck nearest the kitchen while we had to search for technicians to install. Be careful when needing to simmer. You’ll need to use the lowest level of flame by going to the left of HIGH.

We discovered that Low flame on this powerful unit is still too powerful for your low simmer dishes. There is an odd placement of the knobs – absolutely no consistency (e. g, front burners are on the left, rear on the right).

On this unit, the placement of the burners is opposite from left and right. You cannot access the lower drawer while the over is in operation. It swells. The manufacturer would have done well to make the over knob digital so you could be assured of the precise temperature.

And please note that Thor calibrates the oven to be 25 degrees lower than what’s on the face to compensate for convection cooking. However Thor’s customer service has not serviced the unit though we’ve complained that the oven temps are not accurate at the higher levels.

They told us that the oven does not properly work in conventional mode – which is a bummer because we purchased this to have the option. If you choose to buy, buy the Best Buy extended warranty. Though we remain under warranty, Thor customer service has been customer frustration.

They are non-responsive to the email inquiry they mandated I submit after talking with two agents (who by the way were quite dismissive). And have yet to assign a technician to confirm proper operations even when I suggested we had no problem in paying for the trip fee!!! The unit is beautiful.

It’s powerful. Sadly, the experience has not lived up to the “Cook Like a God” hype. Feeling more like we’ve checked in to the Hotel California. Big investment for us and feeling like our business isn’t valued by Thor.

We bought this last spring for a new house build in the mountains, but I was not able to try it until we were able to move in this month. The stove exceeded my expectations, but in functionality and beauty.

It brought my investments in stainless and copper cookware to a new level as the cooking is even, and I am getting better results than ever. I feel like a professional cook lol! And how about other features such as oven defrost? I never expected that one, and am thrilled because we quit microwaves.

Cleanup is much easier as I just wipe with a damp rag after meals and have not had to use any harsh chemicals to clean even spilled runny egg yolk…both wet part and dried yolk can right up with a wipe.

I was worried about how to fit burner guards inside the stove, but it’s really not necessary if you just wipe after use. I highly recommend this stove!.

My landlord bought this range 7 months ago. We didn’t have many choices because we were looking for 20″. It looked decent at that time. I use oven often and I thought oven control knob was flimsy and it was hard to control.

The oven shuts off time to time. I couldn’t trust oven temperature. And then on Saturday at 10 pm, I couldn’t turn oven off. I couldn’t turn the knob to off position. Thank God for 1 year manufacturer warranty and a part is replaced on Tuesday morning.

But I couldn’t use my gas range for 2. 5 days. I wouldn’t recommend this range to anyone. PC Richard & Son should not carry this item.

This is our first Avanti product. Gas burners don’t go low enough to simmer properly. When turned on high it seems to take a long time to bring a pot of water to a boil compared to our previous 20″stove.

Also the interior is smaller, had to buy a new roasting pan. Sometimes the burners and the oven take a while to light, maybe we just need to get used to using it. We like the oven window and the interior light.

Small, easy to clean, wider and narrower burners. Does the work. A small design defect is that the grid on top of the burners does not hold a small frying pan that I have securely. Its handle is heavier than the pan itself when it’s empty, and it would slant to the left since the iron from the grid does is absent in that position.

What I did was take the grids and use them sideways instead. however, the surface is not square, so it does not fit perfectly. All other pans that are even weight are ok, but I prefer to be secure.

Little stove is a heating power house. I bought this stove to supplement my heat pump. I’m in Ohio and anytime the temperature is under 32 degrees it only works with “emergency” heat mode which is very expensive.

I plan to put in a wood stove but haven’t been able to with all the COVID delays. I use this instead of the heat pump once the temperature reaches 32. I can leave it on the lowest setting at night and it will still be at least 64 degrees in the house (try-level) when I get up in the morning.

Honestly, I think the 20,000 BTU would have been enough. I’ve never had it set higher than about 2 1/2 (out of 5) and it’ll be 72 degrees. So far I’m figuring it uses about 2 pounds of propane a day when the temp is between 28-32.

I’ll see how that changes when it gets colder. So far, I couldn’t be happier with this little heat and the money it will save me this winter. It’ll pay for itself in one season.

We live in an area that has many power outages and bought this stove as a backup heat source. We needed a stove that did not require power to operate and was easy to install. This stove met both those needs and many others.

Not needing to vent through a wall or roof was the biggest plus. We were amazed at the heat the stove created just on the lowest setting. I was going to purchase the optional blower attachment, but I don’t think we will need it.

The dual fuel option allowing either propane or natural gas make it nice since natural gas is not available in our immediate area. Since I already had a large propane tank, I only needed to purchase an external regulator, an external shut off valve, some black iron pipe, fittings and two appliance rated flex tubes.

I did the installation myself and only took a few hours of my time once I got the materials. This stove does require a AA battery to operate the pilot flame ignitor and is provided with the stove. We originally bought the stove as a backup.

But after feeling how cozy it made our home when we tested it out, I think it will get fired up on those cold winter nights just to take the chill away. My wife loves the romantic ambiance of the flickering flame.

We thought the Amana brand would stand for quality, reliability and good customer service. We were totally wrong wrong. Our Amana 20 inch Model #AGG222VDW4 came poorly made and in need of repairs. Everything on the front of the stove was out of alignment (controls panel, oven door and broiler door).

The technician Amana sent out was able, after tugging and twisting and removing and reattaching, to align the oven and broiler drawer, but could do nothing about the major problem which he himself called “concerning.

” The left exterior side of the oven when in use gets hot enough to burn your fingers. We’ve since measured it at 190 degrees. When we called Amana about this, their Customer Service Rep said the excessive temperature on the outside of the stove was acceptable.

Twice we were told by Amana reps that Amana and Whirlpool, its parent company, consider temperatures up to 200 degrees on the outside of the stove acceptable and there was no problem. Amana’s response to our concerns about our grandchildren possibly accidentally burning themselves was that it was up to us to supervise them.

We even wrote a letter to Amana’s Corporate offices about our concerns. We never got a reply. Now that we know the real Amana and Whirlpool, we’ll never by another of their products. Poorly made product and bad customer service.

I ordered and paid for this gas range around Dec. 1 and did not receive it until January 20. I had it unpacked and installed by my local plumber on January 23. Both grates were slightly bent, so I called Amana and they sent me new ones.

I also noticed that the right rear burner would not light, so Amana sent a technician to replace the burner. I thought all was good, but after he left, the right front burner would not create a spark to light.

The technician will return tomorrow. These are correctable, minor issues. Two design issues I am not happy with are: 1. The enamel coated grates are extremely slick. I have to be very careful to not slip a hot pot off the front burner.

2. The flames do not go low enough to allow liquid to simmer. Even on the lowest flame, it still produces pretty rapid boil. That said, there are not very many options for a 20″ gas range (especially in white).

I did as much research as I could, and even knowing the flames would not go very low, I chose to buy it. On the bright side, I like the oven very much. It is larger than comparable models (which would not even close with a half-size cookie sheet).

It has a window, a light, and. tada! a handle to hold my dish towel! That makes me happy. If I can just get the technician to lower the flame (unlikely), I will be a very happy customer.

We bought this a couple of months ago to replace a similar unit that had been in our cabin for 50+ years. It is so nice not having to deal with pilot lights. Installation was easy, including converting it to propane.

Very clear instructions. Getting the flames adjusted is a little touchy, but not difficult. It works well, and the oven works better than the old unit. Couldn’t be happier.

Bought less than 2 years as part of kitchen remodel. We spurged on a nice stove, and it has worked as expected for the first year, but now the oven doesnt work and it seems it needs a replacement ceramic ignitor, but good luck finding a match.

Now we file a claim and wait. No oven until we can get repaired. When you spend thousands on a stove you dont expect problems within 2 years, but i guess this is the new normal. Kutch has a good reputation and that is why I purchased over the competition.

Ive been using this range for over three weeks now and couldnt be more pleased. Per my own oven thermometer, the unit accurately holds temperature no mater what feature Im using. The gas burners are sooo much better than my old Kenmore Elite.

All of them are very responsive and provide an amazing temperature range. No more struggling to have a gentle simmer -even on the larger burners when making a big pot of chili. I used to have to move the pot around to different burners but not anymore! Couldnt be more happier with this purchase.

Just got our range in yesterday! Although I wish there were more video tutorials on how to set up the oven, it was fairly simple to set up – just make sure you read the instructions thoroughly and you should be good.

Instructions could be a bit more detailed/ use photos to better explain installation (first world problems), but again, not too difficult! Arrived a little dirty, but once it was wiped down, it was immaculate! Couldn’t wait to cook on it so that same night we put it to use and so far, no complaints! This is our first time owning a commercial grade kitchen so there are a few things that take some getting used to – i.

e. not having the digital analog, the “beeping” when oven is preheated, no traditional broiler drawer, and having the grates sit a little higher than traditional ranges. I’m sure this will be a 5-star product and I will update after a few months of use before I make my final verdict.

Our newly purchased oven is adequate, but I wish we had spent $100 or $200 more for a next model up. We don’t use a lot of extra features so I thought the basic model was fine. It works well enough for what it offers, heats up quickly, seems to maintain an even temperature, etc.

, although it does seem to emit a loud bang every now and then while it is running, I guess as the various metal parts expand and contract ( a little odd though). but it is the little things I didn’t realize I would miss.

First of all, why don’t these new ovens come with a broiler pan? They should just include it (or at least specify some where in the description that they are not included and offer the option to add one).

Strangely, too, there is only one bar for the in-oven broiler. My previous oven had two: I thought that was standard, so now I’m moving my broiler meals around in the oven a bit more to make sure everything gets cooked.

Also, the middle burner on the stovetop looks to be oval (again, like my previous oven), but the burner itself is just a small circular burner set in an oval bump (a little deceiving in online pics), not sure how well it will heat a grill or griddle pan.

And my last small complaint is with the controls. I wish you could program in numbers for the temperature and timers as opposed to using up and down arrows, but I should have payed more attention to the online pictures.

so the oven is fine, but I do wish I had taken the time to look at a few models in store before purchasing, and I do miss a few of the “extra ” features of my old oven.

I’ve been looking for a 30” white gas range with convection, steam clean, and corner to corner grates, not edge to edge. There has been nothing new to look at for over a year so I was left with models I didn’t want to buy.

But my old stove stopped working 10 months ago and I’ve been making do with electric skillets and griddles. I was ready to bite the bullet and get a new stove – even one that wasn’t my first or second choice.

While this stove isn’t what I wanted, I have to say that for what it is – it’s pretty nice. My old stove had self clean which I never used and don’t intend to use on this one either because of the heat generated and the time it takes to clean.

So that’s a feature paid for that won’t be used, which is on me and okay. Nor does it have a convection oven which is a VERY nice feature but entirely unnecessary if I’m being honest. I’ve had the stove for 2 weeks.

Here are my observations. Initially what totally freaked me out was that when you turn on the oven, quickly you hear gas running into the stove. This is something I absolutely never heard with my old stove.

It scared me but when I called was told this is normal. There are no gas fumes, so that’s good. What happens it that once it hits the temp of say 350° the sound stops but then, during the cooking, it continues on an off.

It’s just something to get used to. The display is larger and very easy to read. It heats up to the desired temperature pretty quickly. The grates are a bit different in design from my old stove and I think they are more attractive.

The burners light easily (but not TOO easily) and I love that the 17,000BTU is still on the front right. Other brands like GE put it on the left which for me is very inconvenient. The handles are somewhat larger and nicer looking than on my old stove and although plastic, feel pretty sturdy.

The stove weighs about 200 pounds and is solid. The finish is bright white and (so far) cleans easily with a damp paper towel. My small kitchen isn’t heating up like it did with the old stove. The only minor negative right now is that the storage drawer is smaller, even though it looks the same size.

When I transferred the stuff from the old stove , one item just wouldn’t fit regardless of how it was configured. It’s not a deal breaker, but something to be aware of. Of course it’s shiny and new and beautifully clean so it definitely impresses.

It looks good and seems to be working well. I was very nervous buying this sight unseen even though I read every description of it available. And of course there are all these horror stories about new appliances broken right out of the box, or conking out 2 minutes after the installers leave.

Stuff like that. I am thrilled to have a stove which at the moment seems to be working well. While it may not be what I wanted, I like it a lot and am keeping my fingers crossed that it continues to work well for a long time.

BTW – before you cook your first meal, let the oven run at 350° for about 20 minutes to burn off oils and such. Keep the door closed and open a window. Had the installers not mentioned this to me I would have thought something was wrong with the stove because of fumes and smoke.

Now there’s no smell and no smoke at all.

I am a big fan of this model. It is not overly loaded with superfluous hi tech settings which can sometimes get in the way of the business of plain old good cooking. This model affords reasonable flexibility for the creativity of the chef.

The oven heats evenly and keeps temperature, and the burners on the stovetop handle everything from copper to stainless to cast iron just perfectly. There is great latitude of btu output between those burners and each has its own good use.

The stovetop grates are heavy and solid, and the overall appearance of the entire unit I find quite appealing. If there is one downside, it is that the oven racks are not as heavy gauge and supportive of baking/roasting dishes as compared with those made a few decades ago.

It would seem however that most non-commercial grade units have unfortunately now gone this route. Overall, I could not be happier. A little over two years ago I purchased this model for a friend, and having spent many hours with it, I upgraded with one for my own kitchen.

There many choices on the market and as one who spends a great deal of time in the kitchen I like this one!.

We purchased matching appliances when we built our house almost 4 years ago. We weren’t satisfied with our gas cooktop, so we recently replaced it with this range top instead. We are thrilled with product! We love the burners.

We usually keep a griddle in the middle, but love we have an option to easily remove it. On our previous cooktop, we only had one burner that we liked using. All of these burners are functional and adjustable.

I purchased this for my client on a recent remodel. One burner does not light and another is difficult to light. Zline offered to send a repair technician out free of charge approximately 4 months ago.

I just found out from my client that a technician still has not repaired the unit. From now on, I will not be recommending Zline products for my clients and if they choose this product I will caution them against the choice and share my experience.

We purchased this a replacement for our old gas stove during our kitchen remodel and I am really pleased with this product. The unit offers a lot of versatility for us since we converted from a regular kitchen range product to a counter mounted rangetop.

The various burner outputs and grate configurations make cooking multiple items simultaneously a synch, its a lot of fun to cook on.

Do not walk away from this range, RUN AWAY! I bought this range because I was in dire need of a new range and money was tight. It was $600 at the time and that was the cheapest available anywhere due to pandemic shortages.

This is the absolute worst gas range I have ever purchased and deserves negative stars. It has so many flaws and drawbacks that it’s not even worth the scrap value. The two main flaws other than the cheap flimsy construction are there is no low flame for the burners and the oven exhaust makes it difficult to touch the controls.

The only reason I can think of as to why the burners would not actually go low is to protect stupid people from blow out, but that is the unfortunate world we live in. lowest common denominator. The low on this range is so high that your water will still boil so don’t expect to actually simmer anything! I have never had a gas range that couldn’t simmer before.

Second major flaw is the oven controls on the back are partially over the oven vent so the heat exhaust makes it painful to try and touch them while the oven is in use. I have no idea how this range got such high ranks unless they are fake, bots, or people reviewed it before they actually used it.

The only thing this range has going for it is it looks good. from a distance.

I went with Amana because I thought it was a good brand. Also I needed something right away, it was available and in my price range. It’s a great stove if all you want to do is boil water. Three of the four burners are way too high on even the lowest setting, so there’s only one really usable burner and it’s at the back, so not very comfortable.

The stove top grates wobble (eggs slide to one side of the pan) and the oven racks aren’t even either – poor quality. The oven stinks up the house (smells like burning metal) when cooking something at a high temperature, like a baked potato.

The “beep” when setting the clock or oven temperature is way too loud – it’s ear piercing. The space between the stove top grates is too narrow to use as a working surface when cooking – poor design.

It looks nice in my kitchen, but as I said, if you only need to boil water, it’s great. If you really want to cook, get something else – ANYTHING else!.

This oven/range was installed by the builder of my home. I would not have picked this particular oven if I had a choice. It is very basic and you have no need of any heavy duty cooking, this would fit the bill.

The grates are one piece per side, and don’t sit level from front to back. The oven rack is the flimsiest rack I’ve ever encountered. I placed a cast iron Dutch Oven on the rack and it bowed in the middle.

It certainly didn’t inspire any confidence in the product, and I won’t be repeating this mistake. The front left burner is the power burner, so it won’t turn down enough to simmer a pot or pan; leave that to the other burners.

I do a fair amount of cooking and this unit will be replaced within the next year with a higher quality, heavier duty oven/range.

We purchased a home that had this brand new range installed by the seller but quickly realized that the door, knobs, and controls on the back get hot to the touch when the oven is in use. We have measured the temperature of these items to be 150 degrees and higher! A little warm I could understand, but this is dangerous and I’ve never had it happen to an oven I owned before.

You will be burned if you touch these surfaces for too long. Since it was under warranty we had a technician come and look at it. He added some extra insulation but it didn’t solve the problem so he said to call Whirlpool.

Whirlpool said it sounded like it was functioning properly and they couldn’t assist us. Every time I’ve tried to share this information either directly with Whirlpool or through reviews, they suggest I contact another technician–ignoring the part where one has already been out to look at the range.

In fact, we’ve now had 3 technicians look at the range and in the end they’ve determined it’s a problem with the design of this product, it’s just going to keep getting too hot. It is a shame that Whirlpool cannot issue an actually helpful repair or replacement.

Unfortunately, we’re stuck with this range until we can afford a new one but I’ll never buy from Whirlpool again and feel like I need to share these reviews to warn others: DO NOT BUY. Especially if you have kids or pets at home.

This is the second time we have owned this model. (First one died an untimely death when a serviceman broke the oven door. ) This range is quite adequate for our needs, but has one major problem. The oven temperature is off by about fifty degrees! Even after following the instructions to correct the indicated temperature, it still runs about twenty-five degrees hot.

When cooking Jiffy cornmeal, for example, I set the oven at 375, for 18 minutes. (Box instructions call for 400 at 16 to 20 minutes). Cormbread came out absolutely perfect, nice golden brown color and perfectly cooked.

Also cooked garlic bread in the oven, box said 325 for 18 minutes. I set5 the oven at 300 and eighteen minutes later had perfectly donr garlic bread. NOTE THAT: the instructions for correcting the indicated temperature only allow for up to twenty degrees plus or minus! SO, setting the indicated temperature twenty-five degrees below recommended gets very close to desired cooking temperature.

The stove top burners are very good, I especially like the “simmer burner” on the right rear, for keeping sauces hot for a period of time, until ready to use.

We’ve had all kinds of stoves, from apartments to trailers to many that we bought for our home over the last fifty years. This is the worst-designed stove I’ve ever used. The grates are too heavy to move easily for cleaning, and they’re hooked together so I can’t lift one at a time to clean under it.

Using both hands, I pick them up and set them aside to clean, then using both hands, put them back. The loose burner plates bump out of place when I clean, and grease collects around the burner base, requiring extensive scrubbing to remove it.

Having the two big burners at the front means we’re always reaching to get to the ones we use, which are at the back. The enamel started chipping within a month. We’re two old people who don’t bang things around, so that wasn’t from hard use.

The burner ID on the front is so difficult to read that we wrote “B” and “F” above the knobs with marker. Turning on the oven is like decoding the Enigma machine, but we think we have that figured out after a year.

Everything works, but the designers weren’t thinking of the consumer’s ease of use.

It is nice to finally have a large enough, well made refrigerator. The one that was in our house when we moved in was a piece of junk. We really appreciate this one. It has much more room, is quieter and is built very well.

Should last us many years. The adjustable shelves sit in grooves that make them very strong, we have put them to the test and they hold plenty of weight. You won’t regret your purchase if you are thinking of buying this refrigerator.

Also very pleased with the range, getting so many comments from my friends and family on how good it looks.

I’m so happy to actually write a review! I have finally built my dream home with that came my dream kitchen. I’ll be honest, I was looking for a Wolf gas range, but that wasn’t possible due to the pandemic and everything being back ordered.

So the sales man offered me the ZLINE. At that point I really did not have a choice, I needed the range for inspection to pass. I was hesitant I made a bad choice. Well I’m glad to say I didn’t! Love my range, love the way it cooks and functions.

Stove works, but converting it from natural gas, which is the way it came to LP was like a pain in the butt, had to tear apart the whole range to replace the nipples and flanges to get it to use LP. This was a long issue, and then during this one of the burner nipples was missing.

Went to the store and was told at first no parts available, but their manager did resolve the issue.

I love this stove! I baked Christmas cookies with it! They were perfect! Very reliable oven temperature. I bought a black stove to go with my kitchen. It looks great.

I purchased my last stove (Magic Chef) in 1987, when I moved into my new house. It finally gave out and reluctantly, I had to find a replacement. I researched and reviewed practically every stove on the market, from high end to low end.

One thing I don’t like about stoves these days is that the majority have the oven controls on the back of the stove as a push pad. I don’t want to reach over the stove to control the oven and I don’t want a push pad, I want a good old fashion knob to turn to control the oven.

I don’t need blue tooth (I already spend enough time on-line), I don’t need remote or delayed start, I don’t need 5 burners that all heat at different temps/rates (though this one has 3 different burners) or any of the other countless options, which usually just means more things to break down and end up making my life more complicated and difficult, despite what the ads say.

Perhaps Wolfgang Puck wants all the bells and whistles and if that’s what you want, that’s awesome, that’s what you should get. That’s one of the great things about America, so many stoves and we get to choose the one we want.

But if you want those things, you should not purchase this unit. Then again, if you want a dependable stove at a reasonable price ($540 out the door, including delivery and haul away of the old stove), you’ve come to the right place.

While on the subject, ask yourself, do you think your new stove, whatever it is you decide to buy, will last 35 years with nothing but a new set of knobs? Yeah, I don’t think it will either. RIP old Magic Chef buddy, you cooked a lot of good meals over the decades, we won’t forget you).

now where was I, oh yes, if you want a stove with the oven and stove top control knobs mounted on the front of the unit, that will dependably do the job for many years to come (fingers crossed), you’ve come to the right place.

It’s nothing fancy, but it sure cooks up a fine burger and bake a yummy blueberry muffin. So, go forth and purchase and enjoy your new stove and if your lucky, it may just grow old with you. Rest assured, should I have any problems with my lovely new stove in the next few years, I’ll be right back here updating this review.

We had to replace our 30+ year old stove due to thermostat issues. Hubby wanted one that was “in store” and a certain size. We also had to change it from natural gas to propane. That process wasn’t too difficult.

We bought the stove/oven from a local dealership. The fit was tight, (had to do a bit of sanding on our cabinets), looks great. Not used to electric light up of the cooking flame, but we’re getting used to it.

The only down side i have encountered is that the whole stove top gets really hot while cooking. We may have to adjust something, not sure. Just be aware incase you leave a plastic spoon or spatula in the middle while cooking that it doesn’t get to hot to handle, or you touch the area around the burners.

This oven replaced my 36 year old Hardwick. It comes close to the simplicity to operate. No complicated software. No bells & whistles. Love not having to reach between hot surface items to turn on the oven.

Oven dial is on the front of the stove. I recommend that. Also great oven space and great baking overall. Surface grates sit high so some smaller saucepans/skillets (even w/flat bottoms) wobble. Also seems like it takes a little longer to boil water.

Old stove had continuous pilot so could bake bread & roast turkey even w/power outages. Important in northern New England. I understand for safety reasons this is no longer possible. Overall, it’s easy to operate, easy to clean, cooks just fine and looks just like my old white enamel standard.

Glad GE makes this product and is not a prisoner of stainless steel.

So it will cook your food, I mean really that’s the most important part. The broiler is essentially on the floor underneath the oven compartment which I did know before I bought it but I don’t think I would ever use it being down there like that It’s just weird.

The temperature knob feels like it’s going to break at some point in time, its spring loaded or something. When I didn’t realize is there’s actually no digital display to tell you when the stove is to temperature the instruction booklet just says to leave it on for 10 minutes, just trust the process I guess!? Also I didn’t realize how much I look at the clock on my stove until I purchase a stove that doesn’t have a clock! It is what it is for the money.

But I mean honestly how much does a digital clock cost!?.

Needed to replace my oven quickly and couldn’t wait so I went to my local dealer and this was the only model they carried. If I had more time I would have purchased a higher end model – this is very basic, not even a clock.

It heats fine and the burners work very well. The oven dial isn’t very accurate and so I use an oven thermometer. The only thing is is that it appears to vent out onto the cooktop making it extremely warm.

You can’t leave anything plastic there while the oven is on or it will melt. This info is in the instructions, however it seems like a bad design. In addition to the stovetop being hot, I can also smell the propane which doesn’t seem to be all that healthy.

Had I had more time I would have purchased a more expensive model. This one covers the basics.

This is a great range! So easy to adjust any oven temperature issues, but, so far, it’s been right on and baking well, maintaining a constant correct temp. Love the bright white quality finish. No bells and whistle stuff I never used in my former range, a competitor brand which broke down after 2 years and 2 months, and a few of the bells never really worked well.

My only issue is the rounded surfaces of the burner tops; my cast iron slides off easily. I’m hoping to buy a few replacements for those.

While the range and oven perform reasonably well, I’ve given only 2 stars because of a potentially serious safety concern. Due to an apparent design defect, even just lightly brushing your torso against a range knob can turn the knob far enough to cause gas to flow (but not far enough to ignite the burner).

This has happened multiple times, for example when I’ve reached up to program the microwave oven above the range or place in or remove something from the microwave. I haven’t experienced this with any other range I’ve previously used.

A second issue is the black porcelain cooktop underneath the burners. It’s very difficult to remove splatters from it, and it’s prone to fading if anything more than very, very gentle pressure is used to remove the splatters.

(The same also is largely true of the cast iron grates. ) A family member has a different Kitchenaid model that has the same porcelain cooktop surface. She’s experienced the same issue. My last range was another brand with a white porcelain cooktop.

In decades of use, this didn’t occur with that cooktop While this range initially is attractive, due to this issue, it becomes far less attractive with use.

Range was purchased and installed by a regional appliance store. The dealers service was excellent but that is where the excellence ended. Once it was installed nothing would work. The local dealers technician immediately began to troubleshoot.

He found multiple manufacturing errors where things were connected wrong. Luckily he got the top burners working but the control panel for the oven would only respond on some of the buttons and the start button is dead so nothing controlled by the panel works.

He ordered a new control panel so hopefully it will be better quality and actually function but it means it will be at least week without our oven. Not very hopeful for a long life on this unit. Have owned half a dozen different Kitchenaid appliances over the years and most provided many years of excellent services.

Purchased a new dishwasher several years ago and it lasted just long enough to get out of warranty before the electronics went out. Gave it the benefit of the doubt and replaced with another model and it has worked well for the last 5 years.

Now another electronic problem on a brand new unit. Guess it’s time to move on from Kitchenaid because it appears their attention to producing durable high quality appliances has went the way of “get it built and get it shipped”.

I purchased this range on 08/29/22. it was on backorder. I was told it would be about 5 days. It took until 09/21/22 with numerous phone calls to get this unit to my house finally. I left to go out of the county the next week so I did not use it before I left.

Upon returning I have only used it 3 times total and the oven stopped working. It made a poooofff sound and then it blew my breaker. When I turned the breaker back on all the ignitors where all clicking like crazy.

I called customer service. They set up an appointment for service to come the next day. I was pleased so far. then I got a call from service and said NO that they could not come till that Friday. I explained that my husband had already taken off work to be home since it was an 8 hour window for the time they would be arriving.

they said sorry. we are not coming until Friday. I called customer service back. they were friendly but could not help me. I was then told that my warranty started on the date of purchase which was about a month prior to me receiving the range.

This was interesting to find out that no one could help me with this and that ” it is what it is”. The service person showed up and was very nice. They are having to order 2 new parts and I am left for another almost 3 weeks with no range.

The range and the new microwave I bought are plugged into the same circuit so I have no microwave either. No one at KitchenAid had any solution for me. I asked since the unit is so new and only used 3 times could they just replace the unit and was told no unless the unit was deemed unfixable by the service tech.

I am concerned that my warranty time has been eaten up between the original purchase date and the delivery date as well as it has not been working for several weeks now. I am not pleased at all!! I have been a Very Loyal Whirlpool person my whole life.

My parents had an appliance store as I was growing up and Whirlpool and KitchenAid were always the best. Well this is not the same Whirlpool and KitchenAid that we are used to. Total fail from this purchase up to now.

I sure hope they get it together before they ruin their name anymore than it already has been.

Looks good but for spending nearly $20k I expect perfect quality and customer support. Took 9 months to get “a” range then it was broken. Original range purchase was July 2021, then a series of delays and multiple exchanges, finally got the broken one in May, the replacement range arrived in June.

That one was fine. The range came with a crooked door, then they sent a service rep who said it had to be replaced. Viking provided a credit for an exchange to Best Buy but they put it all back on the customer to ensure it gets exchanged then Best Buy threatens you that if you don’t exchange it in 30 days you won’t be able to exchange it at all.

for spending nearly $20k on a single appliance this should not be how a customer is treated. Performance wise, it takes longer to cook things in the oven than our previous GE. Roller bearing oven racks are nice.

Range top is pretty solid, lots of flame potential but also can reduce it very low. The spill protection is a nice feature as well as having the burners elevated. A timer would be a nice feature to add to this, it is pretty simple, on or off for the oven.

Backlighting on the knobs are also a great feature. To install against a wall you need to have the heat shield, $600 for the short one, $1200 for the tall one with a shelf, short one worked very good but Best Buy could not get it for some reason.

My sales person at the Best Buy store was extremely good and helpful, its the overall experience with Best Buy customer service and Vikings quality issues and lack of availability of the product that soured me on this particular range.

Great Stove. A real reliable cooking machine. When delivered there were 2 problems. The front right and left burners would now ignite properly. A technician that Best Buy sent discovered that the igniters were not assembled properly at the factory.

The racks in the oven are on roller bearings! Makes moving the racks so easy.

So far so good but when we received it the oven did not work. We asked for a new one but the delivery would be minimum 45 months due to the supply chain situation. We waited almost 4 weeks for a repairman to come out but he easily fixed it and adjusted our burners and explained that the height of the range was incorrect.

The stovetop is great but not enough experience with the oven to give a review for that. It does take a long time to heat up. A really long time.
