20 Best Dining Room Table Finish (2023 Updated)

This table is perfect for my narrow but long sunroom. It easily accommodates 4 dining room chairs with plenty of room to spare. The assembly was quite simple to complete with an Allen wrench. It arrived in one rather large box so the delivery man helped me get it over the threshold.

However, the rest I could manage. I just love the way the table sparkles in the light! Great purchase!.

I like the table but I was unhappy that one of the pieces broke off and I had to glue it on while putting it together. it was one of the pieces that connect the table to the glass. Overall it looks good from a distance, but when sitting down at the table can see the glue, it looks lit a little tacky.

Wonderful table. The finish is fine and even and smooth. The insructions are good and they give you a few extra bolts and nuts. It is a sturdy table.

Cute little table. It was a little smaller than I thought it would be. But works fine. The leaf is large so when it’s put in the table is oval not round. I like the look. I purchased the table with the white base tan top.

Looks really nice.

The table base has two holes but the glass top only has one. We thought it would make the glass unsteady but the one connection seems sufficient. It does cause a cosmetic defect on the topside because you can see where the missing hole is.

We are extremely pleased with this table and highly recommend it! The table was wrapped well for shipping and it arrived in perfect condition. We assembled the table with ease; it is heavy and it may take two people to put it together.

We are impressed with the quality and design and it fits so well in our minimalist kitchen. May others enjoy it as much as we do!.

This is my first order with Hayneedle, I’ll be back! This table is gorgeous, signed underneath by Lester Yoder, and let me just say, he is a master at woodworking. My intention was to distress it more and add dents, etc.

but when we took it out of the box, it has so much character and is so smooth, even the knots, we decided to just stain it instead. We aren’t done yet, but I had to jump on and write this review because if you are considering it, go for it, you won’t be disappointed? And Hayneedle had it to me in record time via FedEx.

Just moved to a small home surrounded by woods out the surround windows. LOVE this table and it’s look. wanted to bring the “woods” into this well windowed home. and it is perfect. Also\, kids are gone.

so table is solid and used for other things besides dinner 🙂 CAME 1 or more weeks EARLY which just floored me!! Bonus! I am sitting at it now while writing this and just smiling!!! Awesome!.

We purchased the table and some matching padded chairs. Arrived quickly. Well packed. Assembly was simple and easy on the table and the chairs came fully assembled already. All pieces are heavy and rock solid.

Looks gorgeous in our mountain cabin.

I bought this table with high hopes. Too bad, because everything is a disaster. The shipping box looked fine, but the table was damaged on the inside. The corner of the table was totally crushed in, exposing the “wood” sandwiched between the laminate “paint.

” I was still willing to try the table, but as I was unpacking it I noticed chips of varnish flaking off the table in small spots all over. The legs are also of mismatched color. Some legs were light and others dark.

I contacted Target customer service and they asked for pictures. They agreed that the table was damaged. They offered to have me ship the table back (if I could get it to a UPS store–which I can not do with my small car and limited muscle.

) Otherwise, they offered me 15% off the price. I bought the table with the Target RedCard and had to recourse but to take the 15%. IF I had bought the table with a Visa/Mastercard I could have had the charges reversed due to the damage.

Now all I have is a broken, chipped table that I am still making RedCard payments on. The table looks like a Goodwill find, not the classy statement maker I was hoping for. Plus, you can’t eat on it regularly because food and cleaner would go in the cracked corner and be unsanitary.

To use it I’ve had to put clear packing tape over the corner. I feel sick every time I’m in the same room with it. Lesson learned–I will buy all items over $50 with a major credit card from now on. I hope you found this review helpful.

I like this table a lot, the design is so cute. Truth be told, I had been looking for months for a round table of similar style and just could not find anything that I had to have. So I opted for this.

Easy to assembly- took me about 15 minutes. It seems to be sturdy enough for the price point. I have had it for about 3 months now and it does have a small scratch on the top from some cat shenanigans, which I was afraid would happen.

I would recommend this for someone on a budget or starting out/over, which is what I am doing.

I fell in love with this table and I was excited to have this table in my new house for thanksgiving. The table came quickly but the table top was damaged and the table leg was cracked where the table leg connects to the top.

I was told I would get the table replaced but not until November 30! I had no table for thanksgiving. I was told that i had to put the table on the front porch for a replacement which I did and I had 2 man on my porch (caught by camera) trying to steal the table off the porch.

The table was picked up by UPS and replacement came 12 days later!!!! The replacement was damaged too! I would not waste your time ordering this table becuase yes, the design is great for those who like this style, but if the table will be damaged then what is the point? Oh, Target custiomer service told me that they will not discount the table and I need to put it on the porch and they will not ship a replacement at this point so i will now, not have a table for christmas either.

The table is a wonderful metallic silver nut made of a heavy wood. The frosted glass has a very unique sheen that compliments the table perfectly. My only complaint, I found it online cheaper after the fact.

Yes by the same manufacturer. It was a significant difference. I cannot fault this product however. It is well made and a beauty to behold. I am satisfied with this purchase and that of the staff at Ashley.

I’m surprised at how nice this table is. It is heavy and sturdy. The instructions were easy to follow however it did take myself (alone) a little over 2 hours to assemble. The legs are not solid – they are hollow and you have to build each one.

I may seal it so that it doesn’t get damaged, but for $230 this was a steal. Happy I bought it.

Excellent, sturdy, had no trouble assembling it. My issue is the color. The various pictures show different colors of wood, and I expected a brown table, either a kind of butcher block lighter brown or a nice darker brown.

The one we got is grey. Driftwood grey. Doesn’t go at all in my kitchen. Disappointed.

This Boraam Shaker Dining Table (60″L x 36″W) is lovely, both quality-wise and aesthetically. It is stout, very sturdy and does not wobble at all (I’d guess it weighs about 100 lbs). Upon opening the box, we laid out all the parts to inspect before assembly – the top and legs were pristine and the set of hardware was complete and of good quality.

The printed instructions were minimal at best so here’s what we did: We used some of the packaging material (big table-sized rectangle of Styrofoam, etc) as a cushion on an open assembly space on the floor and placed the table top upside down on that cushion.

Next, we attached each leg (the pre-drilled holes aligned perfectly), making sure NOT to tighten the bolts completely. Then, we lifted the table (making sure none of the legs touched the floor) and carefully flipped it upright onto a cleared floor space, setting all four legs down at once.

When we were assured that the table was stable, we went underneath the top and finished tightening the leg bolts (firmly secure but not crazy tight). The result? A beautiful, very strong and solid table! The color is exactly as shown but, what you really can’t see in the picture is the butcher block pattern of the top – in a “brick wall” pattern – each rectangle having subtle, different grains and characteristics.

How pretty is that??.

Table is beautiful! Excellent quality for the money. Table arrived earlier than etd’d. Was well packaged with a couple of holes in the cardboard but upon removing the table there was absolutely no damage.

The legs went on easily and is looking beautiful in our dining room! The actual table is darker than the color shown online but actually matches our chairs perfectly. Very happy with this purchase.

This table works perfect for me! I have a smaller dining room, this fits great. Much better construction than I was thinking it would be. The color is rich looking and the black undercarriage goes well with my black leather and wood chairs.

Delivery was 2 days longer than what I was notified it would be, but still fast and the guys brought it right in my house. I couldn’t ask for more! Very happy with this purchase!!.

The table is fabulous and so worth the money. I received it yesterday and was anxious to get it put together. It is heavy as described and very easy to assemble. a couple of steps and it is all done.

Now because of the weight it will take a couple of people to flip it to its correct position The wood is sturdy. The finish is dark brown walnut like I wanted and the design is exquisite. Delivery was in good timing and he even helped push my table in my front door.

It is extremely heavy. Worth the price. Glad Houzz was able to help me find this gem. It will last forever.

The table is definitely a show stopper!! Absolutely beautiful. Very well made and very heavy. The opening and closing of the table is a breeze thanks to a wheel type mechanism which makes it easy for one person to do.

I decided on this table because of its size and, of course, the great price. I was looking for something with that reclaimed look, and a bit of a grey tone in it. This seemed to fit the bill. Although I am very happy with the purchase, the table coloring does not look anything like the picture and the texture is much smoother than a reclaimed look.

It is more of a deep brown with black tones. Not the grey wash pictured at all. Because of all the refurnishing I am doing, I also got the white glove service so I wouldn’t have to deal with any assembly or boxes, etc.

Although it went very smooth thanks to the wonderful delivery service, beware when purchasing. White glove only allows for assembly up to 15 minutes, which is ridiculous. All in all, still very happy with this purchase.

I’ve always wanted to host holiday meals at our home with both sides of the our immediate family in our dinning room. This will finally be possible with the Picket House Stanford dining table. I searched for a table that could serve 10 people easily and with two leafs this is easily achieved.

See the photos I included in this review. The side chairs and parson chairs feel firm, sturdy and very comfortable. I chose this table, after searching online and in stores, because of the table’s color, length, and style.

I thought the reverse scroll trestle base under the table matched our style perfectly, too. The dark ash finish strikes just enough contrast in our dinning room that it feels formal without feeling stuffy.

We paired the table and chairs with our Bellamy Wood Buffet Curio, which matches the wood grain of our table and dark ash color perfectly shown in the photo.

The finish/color is just as pictured and the size makes this heavy table useful for much more than dining. The package arrived early and the quality is topnotch. I would recommend this purchase for price.

Table was given to my Mom as a Mother’s Day gift. She LOVES it. Fits six dining chairs, sturdy wood and perfect Espresso color. And as a bonus was on sale for the perfect price. Thank You R&F !

This is a very sturdy table. I put it together by myself and matched it with chairs i bought also from Hayneedle. Very affordable and of good quality.

I have had this desk for about a year, and I am appalled at how poor the finish quality is. Purchased the Gray finish, and all around the edges, the finish immediately started flaking and peeling off.

Now the top of the surface is doing the same. For the cost, I would have expected much better quality. Now I am replacing it – certainly not with anything from Blue Dot. Disappointing.

I love the style and colour. Comfortable and great look. I bought smoke on ash what is dark grey green. My only complaint is that it does scratch very easily. For the price I paid I would have expected scratch proof.

Do not buy this table if you want it to look perfect without scratches. We just decided to pretend that scratches come with the style of the table, ha!.

I bought this for a client to position behind a sofa that needed a lamp. This piece fits perfectly in the space. The construction is good, and the look is simple and clean. I would buy this again.

This table looks pretty nice, fits my space well, and seems sturdy. It’s darker than I wanted but not enough to return it. However, one of the screws used to attach the legs to the table had threads that were bent so much that the nut would not screw on more than 4 turns (over an inch and a half from where it needed to be to secure the leg to the table without wobbling erratically).

The other 7 screws were perfect. I used a variety of tools to try to get the nut over the bent threads, but I ended up having to go to the hardware store for gorilla glue. I glued that leg to the table (each leg has two screws, so there is one good screw on that leg and the glue is supporting the rest).

The glue seems to be holding well so far, and the table sits evenly and does not wobble at all. I’m just disappointed that I had to glue the leg because I won’t be able to remove it next time I move, and I honestly didn’t expect simple defects like this with this brand.

The legs were packaged securely so this was a manufacturing error, not a shipping error.

Wanted to love this table but the black table gets stained so easily. I thought it was just certain cleaning supplies that were staining my table but I left a jacket on my table over night and when I picked it up the next day the outline of my jacket was left on the table.

Very weird table. I wonder if there’s some sort of finish on the table that is causing this to happen. I even tried using just water to remove the stains but it didn’t work. I’m surprised I don’t see more reviews talking about this issue!.
