This HDHomeRun Flex 4K is worth the purchase. This is the third SiliconDust device I’ve owned. The others were simple 3rd generation devices. It was easy to setup and configure. And I’m now set for ATSC 3.

0 upgrades that will be coming in the future.

This tuner was exactly what I wanted. It worked immediately after attaching the cables. This was a replacement for my previous HDHR which quit working after 10 years.

Very fast shipping was the only thing I liked. But the units didn’t work for me. They failed to pick up any channels. But it may work for someone else better.

Bailed on Direct TV couple months ago. The only thing I truly missed was the DVR feature. We all stream what we want now so, watch your favorite stuff whenever. Streaming does not cover any broadcast shows unless you subscribe to all the various services.

I may only watch 1 or 2 shows on any given broadcast network so now I can record them when I know I may be gone at that time. I used an old Samsung 128GB SSD with an adapter plugged directly into the Tablo with no issues at all.

The Tablo gives you a trial tv guide for 30 days and after that you have to pay for that feature. Their web site charges 4. 99 a month for the guide service or 49. 95 for an annual subscription. (2 months free vs.

monthly). With the guide service you may schedule entire prime time shows or special events in advance. Without the guide you can still schedule shows by setting time and channel number manually. In closing this device costs less than one month of a cable or satellite service so it was a “No Brain-er” for me.

The device was nice until I was out of the warrantee. After owning it over the year warrantee the device just stopped working for me. I called Customer service and the guy told me my device is out of warrantee so they wont do anything to help.

I also already paid an additional 150 for a life time subscription so that’s over 300 bucks I invested into this Tablo. I had the device on a surge protector with other devices so I know the issue was not a surge but a defect in the Tablo.

I asked if there was anything they can do for me like give me a coupon or anything for a new device to offset the cost of getting a new one. The Tablo tech then said no your our of warrantee then hung up on me.

Seeing how I paid over 300 bucks to cut the cord and now I have a subscription that cost over 150 I can do nothing with and a hunk of junk that broke because it was poorly made I am not saving a dime cutting the cord and I think the Tech hanging up on me for asking for a coupon was very unprofessional and Rude.

The Tablo functions very well, BUT you must have an antenna suitable for your location and have it pointed in the direction of the transmitters, ALSO you must use a fully functional USB hard drive if you intend to pause and playback programs, as well as skipping commercials.

Those features are the primary idea behind having a DVR versus viewing directly from an antenna. After you’ve used a properly functioning DVR it’s unlikely that you’ll ever go back to live over-the-air television.

The Tablo fills the bill. The Dual Lite is a network DVR meaning that you can use it over wired Ethernet connections or Wi-Fi but there is no HDMI port to connect directly to a television set. We use laptops to receive the signal and have HDMI cables from the laptop to a HDTV, or you can just view programming directly on a laptop or a tablet if you prefer.

My Tablo is connected directly to my Wi-Fi router with an Ethernet jumper. I know about the pitfalls because I tried using a 64GB USB thumb drive and that was a big fail. Thumb drives are not intended for fast rewriting and they stall badly.

When I plugged in a USB hard disk it made a world of difference. An outdoor antenna is mandatory where I live and that combined with a quality amplified signal splitter gives us solid distortion free signals.

Recording and playback performed fluidly from that point on. If you live close to the transmitters (<10 miles) you may be able to pick up what you want with an indoor antenna.

After getting help from Support, I got the Flex Dup working with my external USB drive. I love being able to record all kinds of shows. Works great.

I am pleased that I received, receiver earlier than expected. It was delivered the correct way. By sliding gate open, and placing package at front door. Then upon departure, closing my gate. Reason for that, I have had HORRIBLE deliveries.

Packages thrown over the gate. Merchandise damaged, etc. Anyhoo the reason for the 4 star. Wayyyy too much instructions. I’m a straight to the point kinda gal. I was so happy it came. But then when I opened the box.

Saw all these instructions 🙁 REALLY!!! I was so burnt out. Couldn’t do it, didn’t do it for three days. I tried watching TV with Locast. What a scam! It’s free, OH! But we need your help, by donating $5.

Anyhoo! After the the three days, I hooked up my device. I did not bother to read instructions. And I hooked it up with no problem. So in all I am satisfied with my purchase.

If you are looking for a simple tuner to watch over the air programming this is an inexpensive option. But if you are looking for a DVR you should look elsewhere. This STB is very glitchy and at times does not respond to the remote and sometimes reboots itself.

I would not trust this DVR to record anything of importance. The user manual is incomplete and inaccurate in many regards.

Hubby got everything set up so it was super easy for me (haha). We suspect the tuner is going out on our TV, but didn’t want to spend that much money right now to replace it. It works beautifully! The channels we were having so much trouble seeing are crystal clear now! Not thrilled with having yet ANOTHER remote to use, but it sure beats spending $$$$$$$$ on a whole new TV!.

I got this for my son, who had an Xbox and does not have cable connected in him room but still wants to watch regular tv. Installation was a breeze, about 5 minutes, and the tuner comes with an antenna.

However, the distance the antenna can reach is only 10 miles which didn’t leave him with a lot of channels. However, I like the fact that the item came with an antenna which gave him an idea of the quality of viewing (High Definition) and the features it comes with such as live tv, pause and rewind or fast forward on paused tv shows.

There’s is also a guide which tell you the shows and the times. The Xbox itself has an app that allows for purchasing favorites channels not reached by any antenna and it’s still cheaper than regular cable.

Overall, very happy and most of all I am saving a lot of money while not complaining compromising quality.

I don’t watch much live TV at all, but every once in a while there’s something I would like to see, like the Olympics, etc. This, combined with a cheap antenna like the Leaf Metro ($12, also on eBay) is a great way to get basic TV channels like ABC, NBC, FOX and CBS in full, uncompressed HD for a single investment.

In my case, less than $50 all-in, and I never have to see a cable or satellite bill again. It works beautifully with native Xbox One functionality like OneGuide, voice control, trending and favorites.

Plus you can pause live TV. TLDR: Inexpensive, high quality option for people who don’t watch much TV to get the basic OTA networks for your Xbox One. Highly recommended.

I bought this for use with an Enigma 2 (Linux) based satellite receiver, not an XBox. This is the same as the Hauppauge 955Q, same drivers, but less expensive because it doesn’t have the video capture cable included.

For my purpose it is plug and play. The easiest ATSC tuner install I ever did. Comes with a 12″ USB extension cable for very flexible installation. Very good quality cable too. Very fast tuner.

I purchased this device for my father to replace a Video Recorder which after 20 years wasn’t functioning. As a member of the older Generation he wasn’t Streaming his TV as most nowadays would do. Not to mention the fact, that his wireless didn’t have the capacity to stream much of anything.

The Initial Connection was simple. It works with both Digital and Analoge TVs. The owners Manual was easy to follow. One drawback, the System does not allow for the antenna Signal to pass through if not in use.

Which means whenever my father watches TV the tuner must be on. What I really like about the System is the electronic TV Guide to choose which Shows to record. Unfortunately my father is quite overwelmed by all the “additional” Information.

(Channel number, Name, date, etc. ) All it all, I would recommend it as such. Nowadays one is quite limited to which System can work.

Operation is logical and straightforward, initialization is slick, picture quality substantially improves, record feature (DVR) and playback work fine, high quality. The remote is small, difficult to get around on.

The remote’s signal is weak, often requires repeat entry, has to be held near the receiver. I switched batteries (AAA) so that is not the problem. I bought an external hard drive to store programs, but the unit would of course be more desirable if it had its own storage at presumably a higher price, maybe $20 more.

Have 2 old Magnavox DVD recorders that I use to record Over the air programs. Every now and then there are 3 shows on at the same time that I want to record; so this Terk HD recorder comes in very handy.

For the price I paid I figured it was a disposable device. I have been pleasantly surprised to find that all the recordings have been excellent (better quality than the other recorders}. I currently use a 32 gig 3.

0 thumb drive but I am looking for a 2-4 terabyte hard drive. The included Trinity amplified HDTV antenna was great bonus. Have never been disappointed with any of my purchases from Beach Camera. They are one of the few e-mail adds I look forward to.

I like this brand and this is a second time when I was trying to find a replacement for one that stopped working. I was very happy to find the product that I like with a good quality and good price!

The converter box is working fine. I tho’t it was a little too expensive since it could quit working at any time like my original did. So if it lasts a long time, then I would say it was well worth it at $30 and it should be 5 stars.

I was glad to find one available with a remote control. Thank you for sending it so fast.

The digital signals come in clearer with this product. I have used a different digital converter product and they were fuzzy. For some reason the “first generation type” of Insignia digital converter boxes work better.

If you want your Xbox One to be your main entertainment box this adds an important extra option. Good quality packaging and straight forward to plug in and set up. Freeview HD channels with a good user interface once set up.

I seem to be having issues getting certain SD channels but thats probably my aerial which has been split for 3 devices. All HD channels are there and look great. I would recommend getting a good quality remote controller to use the for media rather than using the game controller.

The connection for the antenna cable into the tuner box is configured to make it impossible to connect a cable! I have tried at least five different connectors with no luck. My only possibility is to take everything apart and solder the connection! I expected at least something I could use!.

Pros: Great design, works really well have no problems whatsoever. Cons: Would be great if Xbox had the option to use freesat however that is Xbox as a whole and nothing to do with this product. Great if you just want freeview.

Overall, it works fine for my system TB100MW9. No programming required. Add batteries & it works. My only complaint; it is flimsy. Battery cover does not want to stay on. Buttons small & close together.

Layout completely different than original. EXPENSIVE for poor physical design. It does work flawlessly. Pure guess as to longevity under normal use. Broke my original. Will look harder next time for a replacement for this.

Appears to be an OEM remote. Worked perfectly as soon as I inserted new batteries. New life for my old converter box and a lot cheaper than replacing the old converter box.

Exact replacement for the one that stopped working. Simple remote unit. Only drawback is the embedded numbers and symbols wear off rather quickly, just like the original unit. Otherwise, it works well.

There are cases where it is necessary to use a TV tuner on a computer instead of finding a floating TV elsewhere. The small omnidirectional antenna and coaxial connection can be finicky and are not suited for usage with a window with wind.

Having said that, it works perfectly perched on the other side of the window, and the included software and code have DVR-like capabilities. The short USB cable extension is also useful when necessary.

It would be cool if the group could make a Mac-friendly version of the software, but everything is working as advertised.

I wanted to receive off-air TV on my laptop and chose this product because of the reviews and because I like the dual tuner capability, i. e. to receive two channels at once. It is a little disappointing to be a USB 2.

0 connection however in the USA there does not appear to be many alternatives to this product with extensive reviews and it is because of the reviews I made the final decision to purchase this product.

Fortunately, so far it has lived up to its reviews and its advertised tech specs and operational ability. It installed easily enough although the remote control is somewhat flaky with a delay that takes getting used to but seems to work.

The little antenna did as well as the leaf antenna hooked up to a Vizio TV sitting right next to the laptop at the same time. I put ABC on the TV and CBS and NBC on the laptop and watched all three at once and then disconnected this item and packed for travel.

I did not try any recording nor go deeper to check out the software and program guide features. Reception is what I am interested in and so I did attach the leaf antenna from the TV to the unit and saw it made no reception difference better than the included little antenna and that is good enough for me.

I am running this on a Lenovo T460 quad core i7-6600U CPU w 16gb RAM 64-bit win 10 pro OS.

Works surprising well with a Raspberry Pi 4. The only thing that didn’t work was the included IR remote — it requires a Windows 10 USB driver for it to work. But you can easily control the tuner with a wireless mouse instead.

I should note the official Raspberry Pi TV tuner does not do ATSC TV channels which is what TV stations in the USA broadcast. This USB tuner does do ATSC. No special software downloads. All you need is in the Raspberry Pi repositories.

Jump to the command line an execute: sudo apt install kaffeine And that is it for software installation. Then go to the Pi Sound.

IšverstiShow in original languageWhen I first set this up it was pixelating all of the time so I contacted Haupage and was given some instructions to follow carefully but first I noticed that my aerial had moved in its bracket so I corrected it and it seemed to ne ok though I didn’t watch it for long.

A few days later I set it to record a movie and when I came to watch it a few days later it was unwatchable with pixelation throughout. This aerial gives 100% perfect picture with no error on my tv’s.

Anyway I started again following haupages instructions to the letter and I jave now tried this at least 4 times with the same result every time. Unwatchable tv from an aerial that delivers perfect picture to my tv’s.

Really, absolute rubbish and I waited 6 months for delivery.

IšverstiShow in original languageThis quad ATSC-QAM tuner card works perfect. I bought it to replace a dual-tuner card in my desktop PC that I use as a media center PC (running Windows Media Center under Win7).

After plugging the card into a free PCI-e slot and powering up the PC, Windows 7 did not recognize the card by itself. But installing the drivers downloaded from the Hauppauge website fixed that problem.

After that, everything installed smoothly; the Hauppauge drivers were accepted by Win7 without protest, and WMC detected and installed the quad-card just fine. (after installing the card and drivers, you just run TV setup again from within WMC; it will find all four tuners) The signal sensitivity of the quad card is very good, even slightly better than my HD Homerun tuners.

I also tested this quad tuner card under windows 10 (I have a dual-boot Win7/Win10 installation on my PC) using Hauppauge’s WinTV 8. 5 application, downloadable from their site (the installation key comes included with the card).

THAT turned out to be a huge disappointment though. WinTV has a terrible user interface, and channel changes move at a snail’s pace (where under WMC it changes really fast so that is not a hardware issue but a WinTV app issue).

But what was worst, the WinTV app crashed on several occasions. It seems Hauppauge is a good hardware design company but software is not their thing. Still I give the card a 5-star review though, because I bought it to work with Windows7 WMC which it does perfect.

I don’t care about Hauppauge’s WinTV ap, so that part is irrelevant to me. So if you buy this card, use it with Windows 7 running Windows Media Center. To my opinion, WMC is still the best OTA TV/DVR app that is out there, even after almost 10 years.

The initial cablecard I obtained from Charter was defective. If the second indicator light from the left does not come on when you plug the cablecard into the HDHRP you need to take the card back to your cable provider and get a replacement.

If you plan on retaining one of your cable boxes and want to access on demand services with those boxes, make sure they don’t change your account to “cablecard only. ” Have had to reboot the boxes and the tuning adapters a couple of times to correct cable provider issues.

This is actually an improvement over the Charter DVR which required frequent reboots. WMC will not be available with Windows 10. Windows 7 extended support continues until Jan 14, 2020. Windows 8 extended support continues until Jan 10, 2023.

If your current operating system is Windows 7 or Windows 8 Pro (WMC only available with Windows 8 Pro) your best bet is to utilize WMC until you need a new computer that comes with Windows 10. Silicon Dust is working on DVR software that will replace WMC and be the only option if you want to view and record DRM protected content on a Windows 10 computer.

The DVR software is currently being Beta tested and is not quite ready for prime time. Your best bet right now is to stick with Windows 7 or 8 utilizing WMC until the bugs have been worked out of the Silicon Dust DVR software.

With WMC recorded DRM protected content can only be played back on the computer on which it was recorded. Content that is not DRM protected can be streamed to and viewed on any Windows device that is connected to your network.

The new Silicon Dust DVR software is supposed to fix this and allow the steaming of protected content to other Windows devices on your network. The HDHRP is also capable of streaming content to non Windows devices on your network.

I am not familiar with this aspect of the product but a little research will get you up to speed on the topic.

Hopefully this info is helpful: In your diagnostic front page, make sure that it shows. Card Authentication success Card OOB Lock success Card Validation success The info the cable company will need, is the CableCARD ID, Host ID, & Data #’s.

Take note, AFTER the card gets validated, your data number will probably change, stay on the line with the tech till the new data number matches on their end as well. Once you get the go ahead, then scan for channels and they should all be there.

I have this setup for 5 computers and 1 android. I had DRM issues on one PC, On the other I had to reinstall the HDHomerun software to get it working in WMC. The DRM issue PC was my HTPC/Gaming computer that’s connected to the big screen.

Got that issue resolved and dang, it sure is nice getting rid of the cable box. I have a Logitech wireless keyboard/touchpad and a WMC remote connected to that setup. Android SD channels all tune just fine, HD channels stutter every once in a while (Galaxy S5).

Also, for those having the dreaded DIGITAL CABLE ADVISOR failure, try this. Check your MONITOR driver. On 2 of the PC’s I configured, the DCA failed on the video card, after updating drivers and what have you, I still had the issue, so I’m flipping though driver info for the displays, and I notice that TEAM VIEWER was set as the driver provider.

All I did was ROLL BACK the driver, this allowed me to keep using Team Viewer and pass DCA using a Microsoft provided driver till I downloaded updated ones from the manufacturer. It does take some skill to configure this unit and I wanna say each of the individual problems I encountered were solved with just a bit of research.

I would hope that others who purchase this unit and have problems with it, don’t hate it right off the bat. research the problem, get it setup right, it works fantastic!!.

If all you want to do is watch cable TV on your computer, configure your router, install the included software, and play a channel. It’s cable TV without the cable box, but a far fetch from the advertised HTPC capabilities the company claims it to be able to do (with the right software).

Haven’t tried the Android app. Plenty of bad reviews, but for only. 99 cents, I might give it a try. Doesn’t work outside of your network, so it seems kinda lame. “Hmm, yes. Let me watch TV on my 5″ phone, since it’s so much cooler than watching TV on my 50” flat screen.

” Reading comments, it might be possible to stream over the internet to your device, but only after configuring your router (opening up ports) and/or setting up a VPN for the device. Again, far from user friendly, and no promises.

Should I be able to set it up for live streaming to my phone for on-the-go HDTV, I’ll write a 5-star review. That feature alone is worth it the cost of the device. I still have the device. Still trying to work with it.

It has paid for itself in cable box fees (partly my original intention for buying this). Still, I’ll probably end up selling it. I’m not sure where all these positive reviews are coming from. I’m guessing they’re coming from people simply installing the included software.

I guess I’m just not that easily impressed.

I have owned and used Maganavox converter boxes before I bought the new one. The old ones failed after a few years of use. I am very pleased with the new one because of its functions, especially the channel identification (or detection) and clarity of the picture seen on my (old ) TV screen.

Considering the price I paid for the new one, I think it is a bargain. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a Converter Box.

This converter was great with bringing in channels. Channels were bright and clear very easy to watch. Compared to alternatives it was affordable but cheaper now. Great for those who don’t have cable services.

The unit has no audio on some channels, Spanish on some, and the audio periodically gets out of synch with the video. I’ve owned Magnavox converters in the past and these are signs of them going bad.

Nice inexpensive TV. I am going to toss it in my truck. It can be charged via USB, so that eliminates another cord top have to lug around. It picked up all of my local channels when programmed, and the picture quality is good.

Had black dots on screen and terrible reception. Returned it, and bought a supersonic 14″. Absolutely satisfied with the supersonic

Love the looks of this portable TV. It is a Christmas gift so I am not sure of how it works. Will review after item had been in use.

The digital (ATSC) part of the card is perfect, so I have no complaints, since that was my primary purpose for the card. However, the analog part leaves a lot to be desired. This is not a problem with the seller.

His description is exactly correct, and describes the card perfectly. However, if the buyer doesn’t understand this card’s limitations, they may be disappointed. Please note that this is a hybrid card, which means that you can either record a digital (ATSC) signal, or an analog (NTSC) signal, but not both at the same time.

If you thought this would allow tuning of both simultaneously, you will be disappointed. In addition (and this is the part I missed), the analog (NTSC) has NO hardware encoding. It requires software encoding.

And since the card is sold without any software, that means you need to have the correct codecs on your computer, or you will not be able to record analog signals. And if you want to get these codecs from Hauppauge, you will need to pay for them, since they come with WinTV 7, which is not available for free.

Also, keep in mind that even when you have the correct codecs for analog encoding, this is a very CPU intensive process. If you are trying to put this in an older, single core system, you are going to be very disappointed in the performance.

With all that said, if all you want is a good TV tuner that captures modern, digital over the air (ATSC) television signals, then this card is PERFECT for you. enjoy.

WORKS BEST WITH WINDOWS MEDIA CENTER. IT COMES WITH IT’S OWN PROGRAM BUT IS LIMITED ON HAVING A CHANNEL GUIDE. IT COMES WITH TITAN TV LINK FOR A CHANNEL GUIDE, WHICH HAS ALWAYS BEEN GOOD. BUT WINDOWS MEDIA CENTER SHOWS IT BEING TIED TO IT BETTER.

THE REMOTE IS GOOD EXCEPT IT DOESN’T HAVE THE “. ” FOR INPUTTING CHANNELS DIRECTLY,SINCE EVERYTHING IS DIGITAL NOW, BUT NOT A BIG DEAL. THE REMOTE ALSO WORKS THE VOLUME CONTROL ON MY USB HEADPHONES SO THAT I DON’T HAVE TO USE MY MANUAL ONE.

GREAT FM CHANNELS TOO. AGAIN THE FM DISPLAYS BETTER IN WINDOWS MEDIA CENTER, AND YOU CAN CUSTOMIZE THE CHANNEL INFO THERE, ALSO. IT’S GREAT TO HAVE A DVR FUNCTION AGAIN WITHOUT HAVING TO PAY MONTHLY FEES AS WITH SATELLITE OR TIVO, ETC.

real nice product and easy to install. i am no stranger Hauppauge and they,re products. i owned one of they,re tv cards before for windows xp. the one for xp was not compatable with windows 7 and i have a better computer with a 1080p computer monitor so i bought this one and walmart’s price was around 10 dollars less than everybody else so i bought it.

real easy to install just make sure you buy a signal splitter from our electronics dept before install. alright no digital box needed this card actually decodes your digital signal right from your cable.

intergrates well with windows media center almost want to throw away my tv set. this card does what more expensive stuff does. deffently a great value. plus it records tv set this up as your dvr. i would match this up with a good gpu like a gtx 560 or 560 ti and up.

Its a good tuner for the various boxes running kodi+linux (*elec/osmc/etc). Pros: 1. Cheap 2. Known quality/quantity, and, relatively speaking, well-build. 3. No unknown revisions (as clones do) 4. Reasonably well supported on linux > 4.

16 5. DVB-T/T2/C all supported 6. comes with a long usb cable, so no strain to usb port, and can be put out of the way. 7. Offc. it plays nicely with xbox too. Cons: No support under Windows (no driver) For the DIY crowd who likes tinkering and want to setup a tcheadend server its very good.

Suggestion: Get 3 while supplies last. The next (branded) competitor comes with like *5 the price.

Paying about 10 to turn your XBox One in to a digital tv tuner as well as a blu-ray player and games console is well worth it. OK, if you love Sky and really can’t live without being able to record programmes to watch later it won’t keep you happy.

But if you’ve already got the Xbox One it’s a genuinely good alternative to buying a Freeview or Freesat box which will cost alot more, particularly to include the ability to pause live tv which the XBox can do.

I already used my XBox for watching on demand tv and Blu-rays so when we needed a new device to watch digital tv this made perfect sense.

The product is easy to use with a great interface but if the console is “always on” from settings, sometimes when you turn on the console for the tv it is “unable to locate tuner. ” Simply unplugging the usb out then in cures it but still annoying.

This can be random and may just be this model. In the main though a great little gadget.

Unit appeared to power up however was unable to obtain and transfer signal. Although unit presented “No Signal” a very faint ghost image was presented on my old analog tv. This may have been a rare defective or damaged unit and had already been returned once to the bargain shelf.

This unit has already been returned for refund.

This unit was easy to set up and use. However the receiver lacks decent sensitivity. The on screen menus also glitch on certain channels displaying wrong programming info. I ultimately ended up purchasing a Zenith unit.

It works well with none of the RCA’s issues. Also don’t like RAC’s signal level is not displayed for specific chanels, only an overall singal level is accessable from the menu.

Great little box for analog TV. Very easy to use. Nice features on remote. Sleep timer. CC caption. Easy scan. Antennae power check for each channel to find strongest signal. It’s awesome. Make sure you use a very good connector chord from box to TV for best connection.

That’s very important. No chincy ones. I would recommend this little box. It’s very light. They last forever if taken care of properly. As in dropping etc.

Despite the slight sound clipping and the resolution, this product was one of the easiest installs ever. It doesn’t even need the USB power cable on my computer, it draws power from the AV-USB connection.

I bought this so I could use my PS2 on my computer, and there is no lag, the unit remained cool after an hour of use. This item seems to do everything it’s supposed to, and with no hassle that I’ve heard about other TV Tuners.

If you need an RCA (Red, white, yellow A/V cable) to USB2 converter, I highly recommend this.

Picture and sound are a great quality. I recorded a couple of movies that were on my Dish DVR onto my laptop. I even used the timer feature of WinDVR, and it worked pretty well. Both movies look like they recorded well.

I haven’t been able to watch them all the way through yet. I would definitely recommend this receiver for the price.

This is a follow up to my review. I found out that if you updated your audio driver it will solve the hissing sound. I updated my AC97 audio driver to version A 3.92 and the hiss is gone!!
