20 Best Digital Coaxial Audio Cable (2023 Updated)

There is some debate about the use of silver with copper in analogue interconnects on the basis that it can cause confused signals. This debate shouldn’t in theory apply do digital interconnects because the skin effect of the digital signal means it travels on the wires’ surface and there’s a benefit to silver plating.

The sweet spot of value seemed to point to the Cinnamon interconnect so I plumped for this but doing A/B comparison with the old analogue interconnects between my Cyrus CDi and Cambridge CXA81 I was disappointed with the slight harshness of the high frequencies albeit with a very good soundstage.

The cable had not been burnt in but I couldn’t see that there would be enough improvement over time so I decided to swap the Cinnamon for the Carbon. This proved to be a revelation with a big increase in control across all frequencies, particularly the top end, and a fantastic soundstage.

The quality jump was a real surprise and whether this is due to the increase in silver content or improved insulation the improvement easily justifies the cost. Highly recommended.

Some say that expensive digital coaxial cables do not make a difference. That is not my experience and I don’t think the differences are imaginary. The Audioquest Carbon cable is a definite improvement over the substantial Ixos cable that it has replaced.

The sound is clearer, richer, more spacious with deeper, better defined bass, and is preferable to the Chord Clearway that produced an unpleasant thin, bright and edgy (jitter?) sound. I was attracted to Audioquest products after purchasing a Jitterbug, despite it being described as “snake oil,” that produced a similar improvement in the sound from a USB HDD.

I was not completely sold on the value of high quality interconnects over standard, but decided to take a chance. After replacing my no-name cable with this AudioQuest Cinnamon cable, I was pleasantly surprised.

The sound improvement was immediately noticeable. I thought “oh s__t”, now I’ve got to replace all of my cables. 🙁 $.

First off, this was our very first purchase here at Monoprice, and it sure won’t be our last purchase here, with so many good, high quality items for sale that we really need, and can use, and at really great, real world people affordable prices!! Second, the price of this cable was almost unbelievable and is unbeatable, we know, we looked EVERYWHERE in many stores and online for a suitable cable for our Sub and found nothing even remotely close to this type of quality at these prices!! Third, even if the shipping was a bit high for just one cable, the cable still got here in only TWO DAYS, and even though the box was crushed and mangled to death (postals fault we’re sure), the cable was perfectly fine and intact!! NOTHING ever gets to us in only TWO days whenever we order anything from anywhere! Fourth, the quality of the cable is outstanding! We’ve paid a lot more for lesser cables in the past that weren’t even close to being this well made! Fifth, The sound quality coming from our 6 year old 200watt Yamaha 10″ powered sub has been greatly improved all around with this new cable, as opposed to the old El-Cheap-O cable we were using, and that cheapo one was only 16 feet long and cost $25+ at a local store! Now our sub is exactly where we always wanted it to be but could never reach previously, thanks to the extra length of this cable! Plus our Sub’s standby now works! We didn’t even know it did that! Also, our sub no longer has the annoying HUMMMMMMM that it’s always had, and it also now thumps harder with much lower, deeper, warmer, fuller bass at lower volumes! A lil’ FYI We are all musicians here in our home, from pro recording and touring vets like my hubby and myself, to our “beginner” kids, and Hubby is also very completely serious audiophile nut when it comes to quality and sound.

We all use, and sometimes, abuse a lot of audio and video cables each and every day here, so we certainly do know good from bad, and Monoprices cables are the real deal as far as superior quality goes ,and at better prices than anywhere else!.

I have multiple powered sub-woofers in my home theater setup. I use low level RCA inputs in all of them to receive the signal fed from my receiver. I was using a variety of very thin and inexpensive RCA cables and splitters for my cable runs that ranged from 3 feet to 35 feet to reach around the listening room to each of the subs.

I was experiencing a constant low frequency hum that was emitting from all of the subs when the system was powered on. I feared that I may have a difficult-to-resolve ground fault issue causing the hum.

Before tacking the ground fault issue I decided to first try upgrading all of my RCA cable runs so I ordered these high quality cables in 3 foot, 10 foot, 15 foot and 35 foot lengths along with Monoprice RCA splitters (PID 7187).

I bought the carbon to replace my aging leads. At first I was relatively unimpressed but after a couple of weeks it has a lot better. Overall it is a well balanced cable with no obvious colouration. It is well constructed and I have doubt that it will stay in my set up for many years.

It’s a cable, It works. Not much else to say. But captive covers for the fiber would have been nice, as the completely removable kind have a way of getting lost.

Replaced a lower quality cable with this one and it removed all hum and hiss in my system. Connector is nice and tight, I loosened it a little before connecting to my receiver to make sure I could get it off later.

does what it’s supposed to. No problems upon installation, however the cable feels like you could crimp it to kill the signal quite easily. If you are going to be twisting this thing or running it through somewhere difficult, this may not be the cable for you.

Other then that, there is no reason to purchase something more expensive then this.

This cable is just what I needed!! was experiencing frequent checkerboarding and audio dropouts. Decided to first try these. Completely solved the problem, and I swear the overall picture quality also improved.

Went ahead and replaced my modem cable with these also. Usually, it is a little tough to keep the induced noise out of subwoofer but if it is designed in such a manner that it shows better performance, like this one, it’s a winner!.

My husband was excited to try this as we recently upgraded some audio equipment for our outdoor sound system. Our subwoofer inside suffered the loss of a cable so it came in handy since we snatched it for outside.

It was easy to install and fit perfectly. The sound quality of our system is amazing. Would totally recommend to every one looking for a subwoofer cable.

12/19/20. I love the option of selecting the length of the cable. The fit and finish appears sturdy. At this size, a bit stiff but not a problem. The connection was well made and the fit snug. The connector has a nice thickness for my big hands and long enough for me to plug and unplug easily.

I recommend this cable. It is used to connect the digital coaxial output of an old SACD/CD player into the coaxial input of an external DAC.

I used this coupler along with the below to turn my Nikon D7000 into a great photo booth along with 2 Alien Bees B400 Strobe lights and a white muslin background. I also use the cybersync transmitter and receivers.

Allows guest to walk into the photo booth (It’s just a mini studio) which I can setup in the corner at wedding receptions, etc. The foot pedal along with the pre-trigger cable allow the subjects to snap their own pictures and be as funny as they want.

Seems having a photographer behind the camera makes people not come out and be as funny as they are when they know no one’s behind the camera. I have an assistant had out props such as hats and mustaches on sticks along with chalk boards, etc.

(also another reason to have an assistant). I tried the Eye-Fi Card along with Nikons USB Wifi card, and for the money, the transcend card was the best bang for the buck. I leave the camera in live view mode, so it never looses a connection to the ipad by turning off the wifi card.

Also that’s why I needed the ac power cord for my camera. The ipad is also plugged into power. Purchased this cable after purchasing another vendor’s “blue’ version. The other manufacturer cable connector was not secure and would slip out losing connection. C2G makes the highest quality cables out there.

On a side note, I find it humorous that there are OTHER MANUFACTURERS who make gold plated connectors for their OPTICAL CABLES. I have yet to see an explanation of how gold improves a light-signal. Next thing you will see is someone coming up with at gold plated fork touting the fact that it makes food taste better, has health benefits and improves the transfer of food from the plate to your mouth.

I have purchased C2G products for years. I have never been disappointed!.

I used this as my video RCA out from a heat unit to under my seat–where I used a Y connector to split the video signal to headrest monitors and an overhead monitor. Worked great. Good value and performance.

This would work well for digital applications, but also well enough for video.

I installed these recommended cables behind wall for audio component connections between hdtv and sound system and the sound quality increased greatly. These cables replaced audio cables that may not have been suitable for in-wall installation.

The quality increased so much that, while I was in another room, I thought that there was a person in the tv room (which never happened before). When I went back to the tv room to see what was going on, I discovered that it was the hdtv and the sound system with the newly installed cables.

Now that is sound quality for you! PROS: Cables are rated class 2 and easy to install behind walls for mounted hdtvs. Flexible enough to connect with hdtv’s inputs. Sound quality increased tremendously.

I like connectors with gold ends on them, but it doesn’t mean that’s always a good thing. The cable company came out, cut them off, and replaced them with more stable connectors to devices & the wall connect.

They weren’t gold, and I was a little shocked. I can’t remember exactly what they said in telling me the ends weren’t recommended, and I’m not sure if I believe them. They were trouble-shooting a problem, and I had to buy this cable because the ones I had were too short for this dwelling and the cable connectors in the walls.

I’ve dealt with tech supports for a variety of equipment I have. for decades. and cable tech support reps are the worst and always point at 3rd party issues.

Customer service was excellent. Was in and out fast. Product works great and easy to install!

Hooked this up to my modem, it works great, and the connectors feel like top quality, well made and easy to screw on. Overall it was a better cable than I was expecting. Also the wire itself is pretty flexible for being coax which is nice.

I can’t use it because it’s an RCA audio cable. I have a carton full of those already. I thought it was supposed to be a coaxial cable.

I had the lowest grade subwoofer cable available from Monoprice, in 25ft. length. Somehow, the cable was creating interference with my FM reception. I replaced it with the Onix cable and that cured my problem, likely due to the extra shielding.

The only drawback with the Onix cable is the limited flexibility of the cable. It?s not very supple which makes turning corners and draping it over and around things difficult. While the connector is secure, it seems a little bit over sized; it fits securely, it?s just large.

These are some pretty decent alternatives to “audiophile grade” RCA cables. All that really matters in an interconnect cable is durability, and low capacitance – and these have both, for a price you can’t beat! (actually, cold welds rather than solder can be important too, but I couldn’t tell which method these use without removing the screw on the terminal) I also love the unique, robust design, and ability to tighten the connector.

I do have two complaints and one recommendation, however: 1. The hexagonal design and the model silkscreen placement makes it nearly impossible to align symmetrically the first time. Basically you have two options: Have a great, extremely tight connection, or have an awesome looking cable.

Doing both is possible, but requires a lot of patience and hand work. 2. I made the mistake of putting all of my effort into hand tightening these to the max (I bought 8), and then realized I needed to move some.

I couldn’t loosen one by hand, so I decided to pull. DO TRY TO NOT PULL THESE OUT ONCE TIGHTENED. It pulled the entire RCA jack out of the amplifier. Luckily, mine was pressure fit and I was able to work it back in, but dang I was heartbroken for a minute or two.

This is a 12-foot coax cable. I used it to run video to my HTPC. The connection and signal was excellent. No complaints.

I went to Microcenter to get a router and modem for my new apartment and bought this cable the same day to set up my internet. I have no issues, everything is working properly.

Use this cable to upgrade from an RG-59. You will not experience as many pixelated programs. Reception will be measurably enhanced. I tried it on a Mohu Leaf indoor antenna and it helped me.

In all fairness, I bought this open box in packaging. When I got home one end would not thread right and was basically useless. I assume that’s why it was returned and restocked.

What can be said about a coax cable really? It does exactly what it is supposed to do! The only real drawback I had was the fact that it was a bit stiff at first, but loosened up pretty quickly.

Many folks don’t know that WHERE you put your sub woofer is key to how it sounds. For many people the ideal spot in the corner of your listening room is the best-although trying more than one spot is best.

A nice long cable from your receiver to your sub-woofer like this one does the trick nicely for a great price.

Very good quality. I love that it comes with thicker than normal insulation, as I put this in my car, that way you don’t get the alternator whine coming through the speakers.

I thought it was going to be beefy, but very thin. Bought a better wire. You get what you pay for. This wire is proof.

After browsing the web looking for a good product for a low price, between casually at Walmart. com and great was my surprise when halle RCA 100 feet RG 6 Coaxial Digital Cable for less than half the price in any other seller.

Come to think that it would not be a product of quality, but to receive it, I could see that it is of very good quality and able to transmit HD Digital signal with excellent clarity. I am happy because with very little money solved a big problem of satellite TV signal.

I recommend it to family and friends.

I purchased to take on a camping trip in our RV. I used this cord to set up my portable satilitte dish. The connector kept backing it’s self off the treaded connection to the dish and also the connection to the trailer.

I could not figure out how this was being done because I tightened it extremely tight. Needless to say we didn’t get to watch our TV the two weeks we were gone. Don’t buy unless you want to keep reconnedting the cable daily and often.

I purchased this 100 foot cable to connect my Comcast to a wall mount. It appeared to work fine initially, then noticed issues. All of the TV’s with cable began give a warning “Service Interrupted. Check Connections”.

Somehow because the cable was defective and routed from the source box with the other cables throughout the house, it caused “interruptions” on all TV’s. The cable could not be tightened as much as I would like and would nearly come a loose.

Easy connection. Used in basement. No tools needed. Connected one end to TV and the other to ( homemade fractal antenna). All inside. Works fine. Free TV.

I’m not sure if I got a faulty cord or what but I am very disappointed with this cord. The screw in is very loose and very flimsy. My picture is fuzzy with this cord but fine with another. It does not stay in because when I tighten it it seems like it will snap off.

Oh well.

Just what I needed, for putting a Attic Antenna up in attic. Perfect lent to connect the atenna to the combiner.
