Best Devotionals For Young Men (2024 Updated)

This devotional book is different from any other I have read. The book is written in the first person as though Christ is speaking directly to you. His words are based on scripture, and often a direct quote from the Bible is in italic type.

Several scripture references are given for each devotion to give proof that what He is saying is true to the Word. I also appreciate that there is a devotion to start the day as well as one to end. The morning devotion is usually a bit longer and more thought-provoking than the the evening devotion.

I have found this book to be an immense help to me in my Christian walk. Somehow, when I envision Him speaking directly to me, the words take on a greater meaning and increase my understanding of living a more Christ-like life.

I have gifted this book to many people, and the usual response is it has been a blessing.

I first heard about this book from an International Contact who had this book gifted him. He was so impressed with it that I decided to check it out. The book comes in various editions – some with different covers but most have only one devotional reading for each day.

I chose this edition because it gives a morning and evening reading – left page for morning; right for evening. There’s also a wee reflection to think about for when it’s “lights out” time! The quality of the binding is much better than I expected and the book is compact enough to take anywhere.

It’s roughly A5 in size though quite thick because of the 365 days of content. I’m more spiritual than religious, but I don’t think it really matters what your beliefs, as there is something for everyone in this book.

If you are setting forth on the journey to self-improvement and want some thoughts each day to guide and inspire you, then this book will assist you in that direction. And if you don’t particularly have a religious following or belief, pretend it’s someone else talking to you.

Either way, the message is positive and encouraging. Money well spent! Declan.

Reading the daily devotional morning and evening readings and Bible passage references for each has given me a new level of understanding of my faith and my relationship with God. I bought this copy because I gave my 3 year old copy to a friend whom I think will benefit from reading it and using it as a key to reading the Bible.

I highly recommend this book in conjunction with a Bible. I am starting my fourth year of reading this book every morning and evening. God Bless You.

I’ve had a hard time being consistent with reading a daily devotional, but not with this one. Each member of the Robertson family has something different to offer. They start with a scripture, next is their personal reflection and then a prayer at the end.

It is something I will continue to read year after year. I’ve already bought three more that I’ve given away!.

My husband loves this Devotional book, as a new child of Gods, his reading everything! But he loves Billy Graham books. He said that was truly a man of God.

This is a great book. It uses the works and sermons of Smith Wigglesworth as a daily devotion book. This book was bought as a gift, but I have my own copy and have given several people a copy as a gift.

This is a book that should build your faith. Smith Wigglesworth died in the 1940s but great spiritual insights are just as inspiring today. Highly recommended.

A challenging book that inspires stretches and reminds us of core scripture and truth. We need bold people to stretch and encourage us to be like Jesus. Wigglesworth is such a one.

this is truly an inspirational book. the way it is done this man is from quite a few years back but they have taken his writings and just did a wonderful and TRUE WORD OF GOD in this mans testemonies that certainly inspires me to want more of what he has!!.

This is the most encouraging and helpful book, for me, only after The Bible. There is a daily message which I call my Kingdom reality check. I was introduced to the book by my dearest friend Wendy who I met when we were all living in Paris, and attending St Michaels Paris.

Great book, great price. But in shipment the books got tossed around inside box and one book’s opening pages were wrinkled and folded. I bought these for gifts. I already have my own copy. Better shipping/packaging suggested.

I have read many Devotionals since being reborn in 1972. This is by far the best. WHy? Because Rev. Prince does not mix the two opposing covenants – Moses with Jesus – but focuses on what Jesus did on Calvary.

His finished work of the Divine Exchange. It is time the church wakes up to the Grace-based Gospel that Jesus revealed directly to Paul. The Four Gospels are the trailer to the real movie – Jesus Gospel to Paul.

He wrote it down in the 50’s the others were not written down till the 60’s and beyond. Romans 1:16-17 refers to Paul’s Gospel from Jesus. This devotional is an awesome unfolding of that the New Covenant really means.

I like the ‘breath of fresh air’ message. I love what the message did to break the chains of traditional religious beliefs and strongholds from my heart and my life. I dislike that I waited too many years to read a message like this one.

I decided to buy this book because I heard this man teach and had not heard anything like it in all of my life. He was teaching the exact opposite of what all preachers have been poisoning their congregations with, and STILL DO, TO THIS DAY! He said that I don’t have to DO ANYTHING to earn the right to be accepted by the God of the universe.

I don’t have to DO ANYTHING to be forgiven, or to be blessed, or to be healthy, or to prosper, or to be righteous, or to be happy, or to be successful, or to be loved by God, or to have the desires of our heart! All I need is a willing heart to accept all these gifts from the giver of them all, the one who already did the time and paid the price for my crime against God – His BELOVED SON – Jesus Christ! I guess that means that there is nothing else for me to do but just wake up each morning and thank him for my new life! WOW! This book has been a LIFE CHANGER for ME! I purchased this devotional as a gift. I already own the devotional myself, and it is so uplifting and comforting that I want to share the experience of this book with some of my loved ones. I Love that the book is small enough that I can pack it in my handbag for a quick read! This little devotional is perfect! If you have the extra time to read the bible passages quoted daily, it’s great for a more learned understanding of Pastor Prince’s interpretation of Scripture.

If you don’t have the extra time, Pastor Prince’s interpretation is sure to lift up your spirits anyway, and guide you along into a more intimate relationship with Our Lord and Savior, Jesus/Yeshua/Adonai/Elohim/Abba! Praise Jesus!!!!.

I rest in You,” Lisa Ham writes as a prayer overlapping a photograph in her book, Devotions from the Mountains. ~ What ~ At two-hundred-twenty-four hundred pages, this hardbound book targets those who love the mountains as they relate to God.

Using mainly the New International Version of the Holy Bible, also referenced are the AMP, ESV, KJV, and NASB. A green ribbon marker is attached. After an ownership page and table of contents, this book contains ninety devotions, each one being one to one to five pages with beautiful full-color photographs of mountains, streams, lakes, trees, and wildlife scenes.

Beginning with a title and written Bible verse underneath it, several paragraphs relate to the topic regarding mountainous nature. A short prayer ends each chapter. ~Why ~ I appreciate devotionals that have little information about the author but focus on God in nature, and this book does that.

The stories are brief and to the point, correlating to God and His grace, love, beauty, and creativity. Old and New Testament verses are included. A favorite was Motorboats and Canoes with the verse of Matthew 11:28-30 written out.

The discussion is about the differences in types of the boats and their uses, mentioning how we zip along in life on a motorboat but need rest and quiet a canoe offers. The writer challenges the reader to seek similar peace in prayer and meditation.

The prayer thanks God for rest and His kindness and gentleness. ~ Why Not ~ Those who do not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ may not want to get a book that focuses on getting closer to the Almighty.

Others may wish there were more than ninety devotions included. I found the devotions are not in depth. ~ Wish ~ With the stunning photographs throughout the book, it draws away from the writing, so I may be one of the few that wish there were less artwork if it is meant to be more of a devotional than a gift book.

Since I live in the Pacific Northwest and recognize some of the mountain ranges, I wish the photographs’ locations were labeled. ~ Want ~ If you like devotionals with beautiful photographs and short reading, this is an excellent choice for someone who loves the outdoors and mountains.

It would make a beautiful addition to a cabin or bed-and-breakfast bookcase or bedside table. I am under no obligation to review this complimentary book.

This book is wonderful! My husband and I read this every morning and it gives us morning inspiration! We enjoy it and it’s easy to understand! And you can relate to every thing he’s talking about.

This Daily Devotional by the Reformation Father Martin Luther is Wht the Reformation was All About. Only FAITH ALONE in CHRIST ALONE is what Justifies a person before God’s Holiness. Again these are DAILY Devotions which makes each verse understandable.

You don’t have to be a Lutheran to enjoy this inspiring book. This daily devotional has a Bible verse for each day; with an explanation below. This year of 2017 is the 500 year anniversary of the Reformation that began with Martin Luther.

Martin Luther was a very humble man who ended up being the most published man in history to date. The writings in this book are very easy to read and understand. I recommend this book to everyone.

By Faith Alone is not only the title of this wonderful volume, but this phrase reveals the means to eternal life in Jesus Christ, which is the hallmark of the Protestant Reformation. The writings of Martin Luther speak to those who are being sanctified everyday and daily readings from this book will both enlighten and give direction for living to all people seeking to please God in Jesus Christ.

Until I bought this devotional, I couldn’t quite clarify the importance of the love languages to my fiance. Now he reads it with me every single day and we both apply each day’s lesson to make positive changes on how we treat each other.

We use this devotional along with The Love Dare and The Bible every day for added self-reflective challenges. It has definitely made a world of difference in our interactions with each other and I truly recommend it for the couple who wants to improve communication and attitude toward each other.

This book has been the perfect addition to my relationship with my boyfriend! We have learned to love each other differently and it has strengthened our relationship. We have been able to teach our friends and family about the 5 love languages and have gotten others to buy this book.

I’ve heard great things about this book. Decided to take a chance on it and do this with my fiance. As a believer in christ, I am trained to love the way God loves but my fiance lacks a little. I love how this is very short for him to read and not be overwhelmed.

The book was given to me by a good friend. She gave me the faux leather edition. It was a total surprise. I found it inspirational, gentle and inspiring. I took the book with me everywhere so I was transferring it from my purse to the car and to my bedroom to read it before I went to sleep.

Every devotional I’ve read has not only enriched me but what I have learned I’ve shared with my children and siblings.

Max Lucado writes stories that weave in God’s Word and reveal it’s relevance to our life with Jesus. It is an easy read that opens your eyes daily to God’s work in and around us. This beautiful leather bound devotional is a great gift.

As a Pastor for over 20 years, I usually read thru books of the Bible and journal my thoughts. But I sometimes switch up my approach and use a devotional book to guide my reading for the day. I have used many different devotionals and, in my opinion, this is the BEST of them all.

It is not just a simple “read a verse and a neat story” for the day. In fact, Henry and Richard Blackaby do not even utilize stories in their devotional! Their insights on the Scripture for the day flow out of their own lengthy and deep walk with God.

Every day is a reminder, a challenge, or an encouragement thru which God speaks to my soul. I gave one to my grown son for Christmas and purchased 2 more to give away. Whether for a new Christian or a long term believer, this is a great tool for experiencing God in your daily Quiet Time.

I cannot recommend it any higher.

I have read the book and have watched the videos. Experiencing God gives a different perspective on ministry and missions. It gives basic Bible principles and examples for waiting on God’s leadership and discerning His provisions.

A beautiful bible, with compelling content. Each Life Lesson captures the essence of Max Lucado’s best writing! Single-column, and a font and print size make this bible so well laid out and appealing to the eye.

The bonus may be, the not so familiar translation of the New Century Version. It’s language in a style that really sounds easy in your head! This truly is a reader’s bible, and yet allows you to actively participate in the story.

I would recommend this bible to both mature, and new Christians!.

Unfortunately, it’s no longer in print, so I scour the Internet for good copies, buy them, and then give them as gifts to people who may not have a Bible or need a way to strengthen their faith.

I gave hundreds away when it came out an now having moved 5 states away an 25+ years later, I’m doing it again This is a classic an so worth sitting at Jesus feet when reading an praying with it.

An important to use Daily Devotional. I have two minor complaints: I dislike Meyer’s synonyms entered in parenthesis to Bible quotes. I personally do not require them, but perhaps the general public will find them helpful.

I also wish Meyer’s entirely refrained from using herself as an example for situations in her comments for the day. She doesn’t do it very often, but I can do without the folksy personal info. Again, I bet her dedicated fans can’t get enough of it.

I’m very happy she has put this inspired collection together, however, I am not interested in the personal problems she may have encountered. I feel the book should have omitted all of her personal kah-kah, thus allowing the reader to concentrate on themselves; after all, this is a SELF HELP book ! Nevertheless, I have purchased a copy for myself as well as several more as gifts to those I know will use and benefit from it.

Aside from the above improvements, I highly recommend this volume !.

The daily devotions by Joyce Meyer is great to get the word in. Easy to understand and a great way to start the day. The book is small, I can fit it in my backpack for the days Im rushing out the door.
