The device is called a “silencer. ” It is a small, electronic device that attaches to the dog’s collar and emits a high-pitched noise that only the dog can hear. The dog will stop barking when it hears the noise.

Wow, I am so surprised I didn’t buy this earlier. I have a very energetic 1yr Purebred male German Shepherd. He doesn’t have a bad habit of barking all the time but whenever he sees another dog, he goes crazy.
I have only used this twice now, on level 1, and he will not bark when he wears the collar. This is the best tool that I have found to really cause your dog to actually THINK about what he or she is doing.
I can try to calm him down all I like with no collar, but I am not a robot so therefore the likely hood of myself being completely consistent every single time I have to correct him is slim. He is trained, overall very kind.
But I am so glad I have finally found a solution to this problem. Thank you!! He won’t need to wear it every single day, but having the ability to come back to the collar for any extra reinforcement in the future is awesome.
oh and the money back guarantee is also great too! :).

Just started using this tool a couple of weeks ago. I’ve seen good improvement in Bug’s behavior when I say ‘leave it’. This past winter he began chasing trucks on our road; needless to say, very dangerous habit.
In 96% of cases it helps decrease (eliminate) dogs barking by automatic performance. The 5 sensitivity levels make the collar suitable for dogs with different barking volumes. Rechargeable version. No bark collar works about 14 days with 1 battery life.

Following the instructions (even in Chinglish) resulted in just what was advertised: vibrations and a sonic tone that has reduced both the frequency and volume of barking by our 9-year old yapper. He gets one free bark before the device activates.
Who says old dogs can’t learn new tricks? Other (more expensive) solutions we tried before did not work because of his long hair.
This collar beeps and vibrates. It might work for some dogs but it did not work for my 2 dogs. They heard the beeps, but it didn’t affect them at all. The vibration is so mild they could bearly feel it.
I put it on my arm and the vibration was just a very mild vibration. It did not deter my dogs at all.

The wire should be buried approximately 4-6 inches into the ground, or deep enough to protect it from being damaged by any machinery or dug up by your dog. The wire does not have to be buried in order to work though, so check everything works fine before digging! Find the User Manual for Dogtra e-fence 3500 Smart Boundaries here.
Receiver failed in less than 6mo. I bought the dogtra, having been fooled into thinking it was a better product by their higher price tag and marketing, mainly looking for a waterproof collar. Wishing now I would’ve saved 100 and gotten a lesser known brand.
Customer service is barely adequate, no paid postage on warranty repairs, no troubleshooting advice (probably a failed battery but I’ll never know), slow turnaround time, then you get a repaired or replacement collar that’ll carry a 90 DAY WARRANTY! That’s right folks, the remainder of my 1 year warranty (slightly over 6 months) has been reduced to 90 days because their low quality product needed to have warranty repairs.
Unbelievable, literally unbelievable that a company like this is still in business.
Product was as advertised. 8 stimulation settings permit the use of the level of correction that is appropriate for each dog. Dogtra makes quality products and this fence seems to be well made too. The actual collar could be better.
A large improvement would be if Dogtra added a bungy as they have with their training collars to make it easier to take the collar on and off the dog since it is not worn constantly. Overall, am happy with the purchase and would buy again.
Put in the training as recommended and you can’t go wrong! It has worked really well for my rescue Bull Arab x who had severe separation anxiety. I thought it may take much longer to train him but he learned quickly and was comfortable within 3 days.
I didn’t have to take the stimulation above 3. So happy with this product, but again, do the training and be patient with your pooch – he/she wants to be good and make you proud :).
The DogWatch BT-7 No-Bark Collar is designed to change your dog’s barking behavior. If your dog barks excessively, the Bark Collar delivers a vibration or a stimulation at a level that is just enough to distract your dog and break the barking cycle.
This Bark Collar has 7 adjustable settings from low to high plus a vibration option so you can select a setting appropriate for your dog. The vibration or stimulation gradually increases within the selected setting if the dog continues to bark.
When the barking stops, the collar resets. The 7 adjustable settings include a vibration setting, 5 stimulation settings and a Progressive setting that begins with Vibration and gradually progresses from Low to High if the dog continues to bark.
The long-lasting, easy to recharge battery typically stays charged for several months. This may vary based on the barking frequency and pattern. Low battery indicator lets you know when it is time to recharge.
Lightweight, waterproof Includes: Bark Collar. Collar strap. Battery charger. Long and short contact posts. Owner’s Manual.
It’s true, amazing customer service! I called before I bought my collar and the gentleman I spoke with was very generous with his time and information. Made me feel much better about using the bark collar which I had avoided for so long.
I didn’t know I had a problem till I received a complaint letter. My dogs don’t bark when I’m home but I found out they bark even though my husband works from home. I bought 1 collar to share amongst my 3 Dachshunds and 1 Pomeranian to see how it worked.
They have different times and triggers for barking. None of them seem to mind wearing it. It’s stopped the barking while we’re at home. It’s reduced the barking when we’re both out (only 2 days so far) so we’re still working on that.
The bark counter function is genius as I can gauge its effectiveness. Battery life is excellent, haven’t charged it since the first time. Very happy and will be getting another one.
I highly recommend this collar for people who have tried other deterrents, without success, like I had. Most importantly it does not appear to distress my dog at all, while it stops his problem barking.
I am happy with the high quality build and soft collar with buckle, which is much better than a clip in type of closure. The device holds charge well, with no need to recharge after each use. I was very grateful for the excellent sales and after sales support; the guys know what they are talking about, were very pleasant and helpful.
An added bonus, the collar reached me in 2 days! Great value for the price.
This is the one for us. I wish I had purchased the BT-7 BarkCollar BT-7 in the first place! Spending the extra money and doing your research is worth it! Our Labrador is now calm and happy. She only barks to alert us to an intruder or a perceived danger.
Prior to purchasing this collar. We noticed a sudden change in her behaviour when we moved house. 5am pedestrians and dog walkers and foxes passing by would set her off and we’d often have to get out of bed to give positive reinforcement or bring her inside.
In the beginning, I purchased the Petsafe Basic Bark Control Collar – PBC19-10765. It came with free Replacement Batteries and I purchased an extra pack to save on future postage. Initially, our Labrador responded quickly and barking reduced, however, I don’t believe that was the correct unit for our girl.
Her irritability and persistent barking returned to full on annoyance after about four weeks. We replaced the first two complementary batteries, every 4-6 weeks and by August, I purchased 2 replacement Petsafe Red Nylon Straps, as they deteriorate and become too loose.
After months of persevering, I returned to Bark Control website to do some further research. In October, purchased The BarkCollar by DogWatch – No Bark Trainer BT-7 and I wish I had done this in the first place!.
The PRO Trashbreaker with proven Tri-Tronics technology allows intuitive 1-hand training and control of up to 9 dogs (purchased separately) from a range of up to 4 miles. A top-mounted selection dial provides 6 levels of stimulation intensity and a tone setting for adjustability without complexity.
Remote-operated LED beacon lights help you locate your dog in low light conditions. And a built in BarkLimiter, activated on the dog device, helps keep the peace at home.
The work horse of e-collars. Very dependable and well built. only minor complaint is that toggle switch for momentary/continuous also has an accessory setting and it is easy to accidently have it set to accessory and be turning on the collar light instead of sending a correction.
Now, if only one of these manufacturers could build a feature that would connect the device with your phone that would allow you to locate the transmitter. Despite have these attached to a tether have still managed to lose a couple of transmitters in the field.
This is the e-collar I’ve been looking for, for quite some time but nobody has had them in stock. Naturally, I didn’t have to look any further than Ray Allen. I have a working K9 and the Garmin 550 Pro has all the features and durability I need, as well as the Garmin Quality.
The Barkless Pro Bark Collar is a static electric anti-bark collar designed to control barking, howling and whining in small to large dogs above 5kg (including stubborn dogs). The collar has 8 levels of static correction that can be manually set or automatically get stronger.
Fully Waterproof and rechargeable. The collar features an advanced vibration sensor that picks up the vibrations of your dog’s vocal cords as they bark, whine or howl. When the vibration sensor detects the vibration, the collar delivers a momentary static electric stimulation through the contact probes.
With consistent use, your dog will learn not to bark when the collar is on.
With the help from a Bark Control friendly staffer, I actually swapped to this collar from the Sportdog collar (which was absolutely brilliant also until my dachshund decided howling was his new favourite pastime).
This collar is a lot more sensitive to howling and on the high setting will pick up whining also. I loved the sportdog display better, but this one is easy to set up once you read instructions, and there’s also a YouTube video to help.
The static seems quite strong so we leave on lowest setting. And on Medium Sensitivity Function. My mini is 6. 5kg, the collar is a little bulky (most are) but we only have it on him once or twice a week.
This with positive reinforcement training is working well. He’s less stressed, and not getting into a barking frenzy when we leave the house now, which makes me less stressed too as the neighbours had mentioned it nicely ;).
He will now just lay down and wait patiently. A few little barks here n there, but it’s only been a couple of weeks. We are working on this separation anxiety with desensitisation training also with success, but the collar just helps when we can’t be there.
This company is helpful, friendly and understanding, great quality products, and return/replace policy is excellent.
I bought this hoping it would be an “automatic†alternative to needing to use our e-collar to stop nuisance barking. We’ve found it very hard to adjust the collar to get consistent and appropriate response for barking.
Adjustment for both sensitivity and feedback are difficult to get right. Our dog refused to go down our steps after wearing this collar for a short time because it was activating when he ran down the stairs.
It was traumatic for him. We have pretty much given up on the collar and are using the e-collar. It’s a well made, quality product, but it’s difficult to get it to function in real world use. Don’t waste your money on this product, get a real e-collar with a remote instead.
Dogtra YS600 Bark Control Dog Training Collar, Black; Help your barking pal learn to be quieter with the Dogtra Company YS600 Bark Control Dog Training Collar. Activated by your pal’s own barking, it puts out an electrical stimulation that’s adjustable to suit his temperament, helping to modify barking behaviors.
Setting the intensity is easy with a built-in dial, and you can also set it to send out a vibration-only sensation for a no-shock alternative during training. Thanks to its lightweight, contoured design, it’s ultra-wearable for pups as small as 35 pounds and ideal for everyday use.
It’s perfect for training, features a waterproof design, and includes 2-hour rapid rechargeable batteries.
Choose between 3 harmless modes—beeps (standard), vibration (standard) and 16 levels of safe shock to help you teach your pup to behave well. Has a dual-channel feature, which allows you to train 2 canine companions at the same time! The remote training range of this e-collar is almost 1000FT, so you and your dog can train in your backyard, the park, at the beach and other locations! The collar is sleek, small and lightweight, which is comfortable for Dogs of most sizes.
It weighs just 0. 12 pounds and measures 2. 3″(L) x 1. 4″(W) x 1″(H). The lithium battery is rechargeable and the IPX7 receiver is 100% waterproof. On a single charge, the receiver will last for 11-15 days, while the remote battery will last for over 1 month.
I absolutely love this collar right out of the box, I’ve only had if for about 6 hours, but I am very impressed. I have had probably 20 different brands of training collars, this one is by far the highest quality (seeming) one I’ve had in this price point.
My mom has a $400 one, and I would genuinely compare it to that. The packaging was amazing, the the fabric of the collar and the plastic are all really high-quality, along with the remote. At first I was wishing the remote was smaller, but now that I have it in my hands I’m definitely glad it’s not because it’s really sleek, it’s really lightweight, and I don’t think I’ll lose it (i lose EVERYTHING).
It came connected already and everything was charged 50%, it came with two chargers, I’ll only be using one but I don’t know why they wouldn’t of sent three since both of the collars and the remote use the same one, but like I said I will most likely only use one.
The charger is also just a mini USB so you have it laying around your house for sure, I find that very convenient because I’ve had to buy whole new collars since you can’t buy just the cords with some brands.
I love that it is waterproof as well, my Aussie LOVES water. & I haven’t trained him out of jumping into water whenever he feels because I think it’s cute, I know I’ll probably regret that when he’s older but I use commands whenever he does it so hopefully he catches on.
But regardless, it makes it easier so that he doesn’t jump into water and ruin his collar. My older dog has already been trained to these so he’s immediately transitioned. whereas my puppy is not trained to them, it’s his 1st one that actually works, so it’s not really “working” for him yet.
The range seems really good! So far it’s impressive. However, I would not purchase this if you have a small dog just because even #1 on the vibrate is very strong. The beeper is also decently loud & only has one sound setting.
For me both of these work in my advantage because both of my dogs ignore low vibrations and low beeps. I don’t use the shock setting at all, my dog has always just listened to either beep or vibrate, I haven’t even tested it so I can’t leave a review on that.
(fingers crossed the puppy listens like that). One thing I did notice, is I do think these collars are going to loosen themselves very easily. So I plan to put a snap (or a knot) in my fully grown dogs collar and go ahead and cut it so it can’t make itself too big (leave chunky season room).
And wait until the puppy is fully grown until I do that to his. Both of my dogs slip their collars like pros, on accident it seems, so if you don’t have that issue you might not have to do that. Another thing I noticed is, on my aussie (the puppy) who has his winter coat right now, the prongs for the shock do not reach his skin through the fur at all, I don’t know if that’s important, i don’t use it (yet at least idk), but other collars I’ve had come with multiple length prongs, that are metal.
These prongs are “silicone coated conducting” or something, and they didn’t come with multiple lengths, so I figured it’s worth mentioning. Overall, I genuinely love this collar, it looks really nice & i feel it doesn’t look as “aggressive” as some other options look.
I know it sounds bad, but I get questioned for it all the time & i don’t even use shock so i can’t imagine what others get. The remote is crazy easy to use & fits really well in the hand. It’s also silicone coated so it’s SOFT.
They look really sleek & modern on the dogs, and they are very responsive so far. Fingers crossed this collar holds up for awhile, i will update!!.
So that the correct evaluation score can be applied I am doing two separate reviews of the PATPET Dog Trainers. For many years we had a dog trainer that looked exactly like the PATPET Outdoor Remote Dog Training Collar-1000 meters, but it did not have the PATPET name on it.
It stopped holding a charge but we were so happy with it we bought the PETPAT 1000 meter from Chewey that looked exactly like the one we had. This review is for the PATPET Oudoor Remote Dog Training Collar – 1000 meter range.
This is a very well designed, sturdy, user-friendly unit. It is attractively priced. We only use it in 1 dog mode. The neck strap is very useful and we liked the vertical stacking of the tone, vibrate, shock buttons and the fact that the middle button is yellow (vibrate) for reference.
The different modes were very easy to read with white lettering on black. This unit was tested on a 25 degrees F day on our 10 month old beagle pup Ziggy. You use tone first and this usually gets his attention and corrects the bad behavior.
If he did not respond favorably to tone, vibrate would correct him most of the time. Only occasionally is shock needed. The bad behaviors we corrected for were counter grazing, not coming, and eating outdoor buffet ( rabbit, deer, cat poop, dead animals and who knows what else.
) It allows us to walk him on our property which is loaded with wild animals, without being on a leash. This is impressive for a beagle. We used this PATPET trainer in conjunction with a whistle and Garmin Astral GPS showing us where he was on aerial photos.
(BUT, the Garmin GPS went dead and Garmin can no longer sell or service the GPS so have to spend $1000 on a new Garmin dog tracker. ) We have benches on our 10 miles of trails on which we sit while we let Ziggy run free jumping bunnies, turkey, partridge, deer, and occasionally bears.
If he gets near our property boundary we first blow the whistle in bursts of 3. If he doesn’t head back on the GPS photos I press the tone first, if tone doesn’t turn him vibrate which usually works and if not, the shock when we hear him yelp loudly.
The he hightails it back to where I am. The highest shock level I use is 12. The range for this unit is 1000 meters but I only tried testing the signal through a mixed hardwood/deciduous forest at 185 yards, 300 yards and 475 yards.
But I don’t want my best buddy more than 500 yards from me. All three modes worked fine at these three distances. I highly recommend this unit for controlling bad behavior indoors and outdoors and love that it allows me to walk and let my best bud chase animals and sniff off leash.
The last big problem is how to keep Ziggy from eating outdoor buffet when off leash and out of sight. I have purchased a soft muzzle to try on him for this. AND OH, it can save your pets life, as it did for Ziggy today.
The mail man on my rural mail delivery 55 mpn road stopped to deliver a package that was too big for my mailbox. Ziggy happened to be outside in the yard with me and he ran to the road to greet the mailman.
I pressed tone—Ziggy did not stop. I pressed vibrate—Ziggy did not stop. I pressed shock as he got near the road with a car going at last 55 mph and would have hit him—and Ziggy yelped and stopped dead in his tracks and ran back to me.
THANK YOU PATPET FOR SAVING MY BUDDY ZIGGY’S LIFE.
Recently adopted a 2 yr old female Beagle & 5 yr old male long hair doxie surrendered to city animal control. We’ve had hounds for 30 years and know the breeds very well. These two best buddies had obviously had no training at all.
No house manners, not potty trained, barked and bayed aggressively and incessantly, no socialization w other dogs. Especially troublesome when walking in public. Narrowed down one priority to reduce excessive vocalizing when walking and seeing other dogs.
Have never had to resort to a training collar, so was very hesitant to purchase. But the appeal of having 2 collars operated by same remote and the options of beeps & vibration with shock as a last resort was appealing.
Read directions for set up and charging charging, use of the devices which were user friendly and pretty easy. Very first encounter w a dog 50 yards away w a yip, yap, whine, bay, paired verbal command “shhhh” followed immediately with a zap of vibration mode.
Slight startle and vocalizations stopped immediately. Rewarded w verbal and physical praise. After 7 walks, and a dozen encounters w other dogs, have only had to zap w vibration twice. The vocalization stops immediately.
Now, even in the yard behind a fence, if a whine, a yip, or more than 3 barks happen both hounds become quiet immediately with the command shhhhh. This device has already paid for itself with quick behavior change.
Will likely continue to use the collars when walking for a while until shhhh is effective for distraction. Working diligently on crate training and consistent schedule and routine for house breaking.
Hounds are notorious for being a bit stubborn and willful, but these two are sweet and seem very amenable to learning boundaries. Thanks to PatPet training collars, one aspect of troublesome behavior has been virtually eliminated!! Would not recommend using this device for changing several behaviors all at once, however.
One. behavior at a time. Highly recommend the PatPet – success is well worth the investment.
SportDOG Rechargeable NoBark 10 Standard Bark Control Dog Collar; Train your pup in a safe and effective way with the SportDOG Rechargeable NoBark 10 Standard Bark Control Dog Collar. It features 10 levels of progressive correction and two training modes to help curb disruptive barking from your paw-tner.
This collar delivers a consistent, reliable correction with Silent Partner bark-detection technology. This system includes a rechargeable battery that provides 200 hours of operation so it can work when needed.
This collar is also waterproof and submersible to 25 feet with DryTek technology to withstand the elements. Ideal for dogs eight pounds or larger, SportDOG Rechargeable NoBark 10 Standard Bark Control Dog Collar will teach your furry friend when it is appropriate to speak up.
The SBC-10 performs as advertised. It is quick to recharge and maintains charge surprisingly well. It is VERY effective, and WILL end the habitual barking. I have 3 beagles housed in outdoor kennels, that had developed a habit of persistent barking.
The SBC-10 ended the behavior immediately. Correct color adjustment is crucial. I very much recommend using the ‘user select’ mode, and in the minimal stimulation setting, as it is more than enough stimulation for effectiveness.
Although the description sounds less severe, I feel that the ‘progressive stimulation’ mode only creates inconsistency in training principle. My previous experience with e-collars was in stopping hunting dogs from running deer.
I found that to be quite simple, effective, and straightforward. Using the SBC-10 is quite different in that it is not as straightforward for the dog, in that since the stimulation is likely to produce barking in reaction, and that a chain of bark/stimualtion, bark/stimulation is likely to occur, and takes MUCH longer for the dogs to learn to avoid the pattern.
A mode level low enough to avoid the reaction barking, and high enough to stop the voluntary barking is the goal. Using an ordinary e-collar to break dogs off deer of course does not stimulate the dog to a reaction bark, but is not useful for bark control.
Tried others before finding this model. Others had the strange problem of correcting the dog when it wasn’t barking. Wasn’t going to put up with that. This never happens with this model. It also won’t go off if our other dog barks right next to her.
Important note- because our dog is medium sized (with a large bark) and fairly easily discouraged from barking this worked great. When she tries to bark (rarely now) the first mild correction is enough to stop her from continuing.
If there’s something that really scares her or alarms her (this has only happened once so far) she will bark up till about 5-6 then stop and wait 30 seconds then start again. So your experience may vary and the more expensive programmable model might work better.
FYI- first battery lasted 5-6 weeks and that was during her learning phase so lots more barks than now.
Fashioned after the ultra-e series this ultra small size bark collar fits the smallest of dogs to the largest of breeds 6. 5 To 24 adjustable collar neck sizes. Collar unit measures just 1 1/4 x 1 x 1 7/8 and weighs approximately 2 oz.
This collar uses a 6-volt lithium or alkaline replaceable battery. High quality sensor picks up vocal cord vibrations when the dog is barking and triggers the correction. Eight levels of intensity adjustable directly on the collar.
Automatic three-second safety delay between stimulations gives your dog added protection. Waterproof.
I have owned MANY Great Pyrenees. To say they bark a lot is an understatement. This is the only model that works. Key bits of advice. To change levels slide the magnet to the side of the dot and then on the dot.
Wire tie the test light to your charger so you don’t loose it. DON’T loose the charger, it is a hard size to find. Shave a patch on the dogs neck if he has long hair. The rechargeable battery lasts ~~ 1 year.
You can get a substitute at batteries plus but you have to splice the old connector to it.
I’m a retired behavioral scientist, and have trained working dogs most of my life. My own service dog’s only problem behavior was her wanting to hear herself talk (ie. , bark). She’s got a big mouth.
Two years ago I bought one of these for her, and it worked wonders without being hurtful. After a year she didn’t need it anymore, and I gave it to someone who needed it and couldn’t afford it. Now I needed another (we got a new kitten, and the dog’s behavior rekindled.
oops), and I found it here. I like this particular model because it’s programmable, small, water resistant, and affordable. This particular model isn’t easy to find, and I’ve seen it offered for up to $90 elsewhere.
I had searched online and could not find a bark collar that was safe for my 4 pound t cup schnauzer. She is an amazing dog, but barked so much that it was disturbing to ourselves and our neighbors. The collars at the Pet Stores said they were only safe for 8 pounds and up, so I could not consider them.
I was delighted to find this particular collar. I figured if it didn’t work, I could always return it to my local Walmart. But much to our delight. it works perfectly. It was hard to watch her cry the first time we put it on, but after the first day, she figured it out and I don’t even have to turn it on now.
If I simply put the collar on her, she won’t bark. I only need to use it a couple times each day, when the gardener or pool man comes, but thankfully we now have peace and quiet in our home. I am very thankful for this product.
I couldn’t quite figure it out when I first went to use it, but the tech support was great over the phone and had it all working for me within about 10 minutes. Great product. don’t hesitate to get this one.
The Premier Pet Spray Bark Collar utilizes new patented spray technology that effectively deters barking with a gentle burst of spray. With its unique sensor technology, it ensures no other noises besides your dog’s barking will activate the spray.
The easy-to-use, spill-free, recyclable cartridge refills make this anti-bark collar revolutionary. The collar works with Premier Pet Unscented or Citronella Spray Refills.
I like how it is highly adjustable and easy to clean. you also plug it into a USB charger cord to charget it up. The charge lasts awhile too. And when it needs charged up again a yellow light blinks to tell u to charge it.
Very convient. Only problems I had with it was that it wouldn’t stay in the exact spot it needed to over the dogs voicebox. It was on not too tight and not to loose but my dog somehow got it to move to the side.
The spray that comes from it is a short strong burst of the fragrance. I used citronella first so then I could tell if it had worked right. The scent only last a few seconds in the air. There is also no fragrance scent thing too.
I think as far as how effective it is a hit or a miss. It does not go off with those low barks I noticed. Or the short little barks. Like the barks they do when they think they hear something but there is nothing.
Yeah didn’t work or my dog. It did work the few times she did a full on bark though. But I think she outsmarted it because she just wouldn’t do her loud powerful bark anymore and just quieter ones. And let’s just say if the little box thing isn’t exactly in the spot it needs to be it doesn’t work right.
We also had a few mishaps with it going off randomly when I was fixing it. Honestly my dog isn’ a Huge barker. But the older she gets she doe’s bark more than she used to at certain things. But she will she top barking with or without the spray collar.
Overall it is a decent product! It does work when it wants to work.
I’ve never tried anything to keep our dogs from barking. At the beginning of the year we moved to a busy neighborhood and the barking is constant. It drives us crazy. I was all for a safe way to detur barking and happy to try this collar.
I did some trouble getting it to work. I ended up going to the company website and watched their videos. That was very helpful and I recommend doing that if you run into anything. The other issue I’ve had is that the collar keeps moving so unless it’s right under the dogs nose he doesn’t notice it.
I’ve tightened it as much as I am comfortable and feel my dog is comfortable. It took us both some learning but it is helping. As long as I make sure it hasn’t moved. I think over time he will stop barking at every little thing.
I would like to get one for our other dogs too. I would recommend it.
As Seen On The Rachael Ray Show! The Streetwise Virtual K9 electronic barking dog door burglar alarm is equipped with an advanced radar detection system that senses movement within a range of 10-40 feet through almost all walls or doors in a 360o field.
When movement is detected, it can release one of three unique sounds.
Good: Very loud (adjustable) & realistic barking sound. Fairly compact unit with pleasing design. Handy remote arm/disarm keyfob Optional external motion detector a MUST as without it main unit tends to go off all the time (if armed) even if sensitivity is set to low! Very easy to use once you get hang of it and provides very effective deterrent! (I bought Beware Of The Dog sign to go with it!) Bad: Instructions a bit basic.
For example the procedure to pair optional external motion sensor is incorrect. Main unit needs a lot of batteries to work without mains (advise to use high-capacity rechargeables!) and VERY hard to get the batteries to stay in unit while trying to put on back cover! Main unit supplied with mains adapter that cannot be used in UK without some sort of adapter (not pricey from fleabay or amaze-on) Arm/Disarm remote bit bulky & not very well made.
I wouldn’t hang it off a keyring as it will probably fall apart very quickly (battery cover not very secure either – tape it up!) Mount for optional external motion sensor is bit flimsy/thin plastic and not very tight on adjustment joint – but just about gets the job done.
Had to pay EXTRA 22 to HMRC import duty! Makes item fairly expensive with US shipping charges! But, I couldn’t find this unit from UK supplier/importer WITH the optional external motion detector unit so had no choice! All in all I’m pretty happy with this (albeit relatively expensive) purchase.
I live in concrete house, so I needed to have the remote sensors because the microwave does not go thru the concrete and steel. I also wanted to conceal the receiver so that a person cannot see it sitting on a table or by a window.
When arrived, one remote did not work, but seller has good customer service. This system works just like any other wireless alarm. You have choice of alarm sound, door bell sound or the dog. I bought this unit for the dog.
The programming is spectacular! When you first trigger the alarm that dog begins to bark. It is never the same sequence. As you mill around and trigger the sensor more times the barking becomes more intense.
Then, I noticed when you move out of range of the sensor the dog still yaps a few more times. It is a brilliant concept. The unit is Chinese (of course) and if you listen near the unit, one can tell it is not real dog, but when you are outside and hear it echoing thru the house, it is really believable.
I tried several locations for the base unit and decided upon setting it on the back on top of a tall cabinet for electronics and DVDs. I have the speaker directed to the ceiling. The sound echoes thru all of the house.
You cannot tell where is the dog. Important: Be sure to get the outdoor sensors recognizable by the ball shape at the top of the unit. (There are two kinds available and many vendors do not tell that they sell indoor sensors.
I wondered if I would really like the barking dog alarm when I ordered it. and am happy to say I like it very much! The neighbors on either side of me have been burglarized but we never have, probably due to my German Shepherd, Hellmutt.
He is very protective of us and our property. When one of the neighbor’s burglar was caught on camera, you could actually hear Hellmutt barking in the background. We do like to travel, however, and Hellmutt is boarded during these periods.
Thus the barking dog alarm order. The bark sounds just like his! Obviously, it isn’t exactly as though he is at the door, but very much sounds like he is in the house. The main alarm senses people coming up to the front door.
and we also purchased two motion detectors that program to the alarm. You can put these wherever you think someone might try to enter, for example, the garage door, gate, bedroom, etc. They also work very well, igniting the barking when they sense motion.
We don’t know for certain if they have discouraged burglars, but we do know that such people will move on to easier “pickings” if they think a dog is home. We are happy to have some peace of mind.

This is the second bark collar we’ve tried and another strike out. Reviews seemed very promising but this collar does not detect my dog’s barks. Have tried highest sensitivity level and different tightnesses and the thing only went off once.
(We have done e-collar training from the get-go so I am pretty familiar with how to put on a collar correctly). It’s strange because it works correctly in test mode. I even tried putting the thing on and barking into it and got nothing (except when it was in test mode, it seemed to function fine).
Not sure if this one is defective or something. Must be if other people are giving it 5 stars. A couple more things I’ll say about this product. My fault for not reading the description but why on earth no rechargeable battery?? Seems ridiculous to have to keep buying batteries.
And why doesn’t this company just make a different size collar for larger dogs? Instead you have to cut off the existing strap and replace it with their longer one. Ends up with extra flaps at the end (which I guess you’re supposed to cut off?? I don’t know.
Instructions didn’t say) Overall I can only blame myself for buying a cheap bark collar in the $20 range instead of investing in something nicer. Don’t waste your money.
I mean it works…half the time…when it wants to. I have a German Shepherd and we are getting ready to move from the country into an apartment in the city. I bought this to condition him against barking at everything.
At first I thought it was working. When he would bark, it would beep, and he would stop. Well come to find out the only reason he stopped was because he associated the beep with his OTHER collar, the one of his containment system.
The collar wasn’t actually delivering a correction. After fiddling with the tightness of the collar and the shock and sound sensitivity settings, the same thing still happens. When I take the collar off and bark while shaking the receiver (as it only delivers a shock when it detects the vibrations of a bark as well as the sound), it will deliver the shock.
I just had a garage sale and left the collar on my dog because I knew he would be barking seeing all the people around. Sure enough, he was barking his absolute head off WHILE THE COLLAR WAS ON HIM. Full sensitivity.
Full shock level. I was trying to give this product the benefit of the doubt as I purchased it many months ago and decided to give it a break. Maybe I wasn’t using it correctly. However this last experience just proved my point.
It’s too late to ask for a refund. My fault. So it was a waste of money on my part. I’ll be looking for a new bark collar.
We bought 2 collars in the hopes they would keep our dogs from constantly barking at our neighbor’s fence. Our dogs have 24 hour access to our backyard from the house and are too excited about our neighbor’s dog on the other side of the fence.
The biggest problem is that our dogs run outside and bark at the fence whether the neighbor’s dog is out there or not. It’s become such a problem that our neighbor has complained about it. We bought these collars in the hopes of curbing their barking and mending our relationship with our neighbor.
They still run outside to bark but my bigger dog barks once then comes right back inside (she’s the smarter one). Our smaller dog has at least shortened his barking time (from 10 minutes to about 1 minute) as he’s just stubborn and insists on barking despite the discomfort.
I’ve upped the level on his collar so expect the next barking session to be more like his sister’s which is one bark and then to come back inside. All in all, the collars work and we are very pleased!.
Smart updates on the SportDOG SBC-R No-Bark Collar will make this the go to bark collar for all dogs over 8 pounds. With 3 fully custom correction modes and 10 adjustable levels of correction, you can program the anti-bark collar to a training mode that’s suitable to your dog’s barking behavior.
Choose between the User-Select, Progressive Correction and Temperament Learning modes. User-Select Mode-lets you manually choose the correction level. Progressive Correction Mode-Corrections start on the lowest level and increase in strength each time your dog barks within 30 seconds of the last bark.
Reset to lowest level when dog stops barking. Temperament Learning-Corrections start on the lowest level and increase in strength each time your dog barks within 30 seconds of the last bark. The collar remembers the last level used and if the barking starts again the first correction starts at the last level used.
Advanced digital technology allows for better bark detection and reduces over correction. This reduces the risk of the collar being triggered by another barking dog or similar sound within the area. For added safety, the bark collar has an automatic shut-off feature to prevent over correction.
If your dog barks more than 15 times in 80 seconds the device shuts off for 30 seconds then resumes normal operation.
The Garmin Delta educational collar allows training of up to 3 dogs at a range of 1200 meters. It has 4 modes of operation: 36 levels of momentary or prolonged correction, sound and vibration. It allows memorizing 5 training settings for five cases of behavior correction.
It has short and long electrodes. LCD screen on the remote.
Bought the Delta XC couple of years ago and had no luck getting my stubborn dog to respond. Finally out of frustration I hired a qualified trainer to get this dog’s reactive aggression under control.
Told the trainer that I had one of these after the first session where the dog was not giving into our will. Trainer took the time to educate how it works and why. Helped us set it up and we began using this as a tool to get compliance.
It really hasn’t taken long to get the dog to understand the command, the mild correction (2-4 setting), and the treat or no treat for compliance. The dog is by no means perfect, but barking can now be controlled with command and either tone or small correction.
Dog recall is much improved as before the dog would not come when called. Now, call once. If no response, call a 2nd time and add a minor correction and the dog returns to me immediately.
Works perfect! Have a new 80 pound mastiff puppy, that gets more puppy stubborn by the day. We mainly only use the sound to get her attention, have had to use the vibrate as a warning, and the shock when its an only option if she goes to get in dangerous situations, like going towards traffic.
We’ve only had to use it within a football fields distance, But It Works!! Helps more with the training than anyone could imagine if a pet gets sidetracked and will Not listen. Its a life saving device, and Well Worth the money.

This automatic trainer has 8 levels of intensity for sensitive to stubborn dogs. The collar unit is waterproof and rechargeabl.
This is a great training collar. It’s simple to adjust the vibration settings and the collar is very easy to attach and remove from your pet. It has made a huge difference during our training sessions while walking the dogs.
They are less inclined to start barking at other dogs as a result of the stimulation from the collar and our verbal commands to reinforce their behavior change. We started with the lowest setting and adjusted from there to determine the most effective range.
We use this collar along with a muzzle leader leash. Would definitely recommend this training collar.
the collar works as expected but here is some helpful insight. i bought this for my small 5lb chihuahua. i will say it is def small enough to fit a small dog. the box thing itself was pretty bulky and heavy to where you def don’t want to leave it on a little dog as a constant wearable collar.
but a medium sized dog would be no problem. this was the first no bark collar i ever bought and ever tried on my dog so i was curious how he would react for the first time. I’ve talked to a few other chihuahua owners who said this method worked great to where you never had to put the collar on them again they quickly learned to stop barking.
when i tried it on my dog he shut up real quick the second it zapped him however that was barking at people from the other side of a privacy fence. once he seen the cable guy come in our back yard face to face that was a whole diff story and he started freaking out being crazy loud barking and that time he didn’t just shut up he starting crying loud reacting to the zap of the collar and because he was yelping loud it was still zapping him.
i had to yank the collar off him at that point. after that i ended up just returning the collar. i will say this when he barks quietly it will not zap him its only when he gets loud. which is fine. i can deal with his quiet barking its the loud scream barking i can’t stand.
if you have a really small dog like mine that is beyond your average just yapping i would still say give this a try some dogs will catch on and just shut up and some dogs won’t and it just depends on the individual dog.
I was desperate for a solution. trainers and sprays etc do not work on my dog.
