20 Best Desktop For Sims 4 (2023 Updated)

Have had the PC for less than 2 weeks. It randomly turned off in the middle of editing a photo and would not turn back on. I was watching the temps on it and it was not overheating or having any issues running, no warning signs, it just shut down.

Tried different outlets, different power strips, the wall outlet, no luck. Did a little research and it sounds like the PSU died. Absolutely pathetic that it can’t handle more than 8 days of use. I chose this PC because about 2 weeks ago when looking at it, it was the best reviewed one in my price range.

So I have a theory that A. IBP started using cheaper and less reliable PSUs within the last month or so of manufacturing (as there are wayyyy more 1 star reviews than there were when I first looked at this PC, and they all mention the same issue I’m having) or B.

Everyone who wrote a positive review was paid to lie. A $1300 GAMING computer should be able to run a simple app like photoshop without dying. If it can’t, maybe IBP needs to switch to making/selling a product that’s closer to their skill level.

Like those digital watches that come in cereal boxes.

I want to preface this review, saying that I hold none of this against Best Buy in particular. But it was a very bad customer experience overall with this purchase. Okay, so, I was super excited to have this computer.

Purchased it at the store after some deliberation with myself. Took it home, started the unboxing process, and started to make room at my desk and the surrounding area to hook up the new PC. Did all the preparatory work, removing the foam inserts from inside the computer case, etc.

Connected my monitor, plugged everything in, and then powered on the PC. Went through the initialization of windows, connected to wifi, and then I was greeted with the Windows 11 login. Okay, we’re off to a good start.

I first started updating Software by running Windows Update. I like to keep everything current. Everything is running fine at this point. Hmm, then I realize that Windows isn’t activated. I try activating it.

It prompts me saying that the key for this system is wrong. Okay, fine. I look up how to find my windows key in cmd. Go through that process, and then get Windows activated. That was no big deal really, just annoying, but it is understandable.

What’s not understandable is what comes ten minutes later when the power supply in my brand new PC takes its own life! That’s right. My brand new PC’s power supply whilst in the middle of setting it up decides to push up some daises and go dark.

Great! I spend about thirty minutes troubleshooting the PC. Maybe I accidently did something? Okay, well, I’ll call tech support I suppose while I’m also troubleshooting the issue on my own. I Dial them up and go through the telephone maze, hitting numbers to get me connected to where I need to be connected to.

Okay, cool. The automated voice says I should be on hold for only ten minutes. Hey, that’s not too bad. So, I’m on hold, and I take off the panels of the PC and inspect it over. I’m making sure all the power connectors are seated fully, and I check that the RAM is seated good as well.

Looking it over and I cannot find a single thing wrong with it. I try another power on, and the PC does get a quick little bit of juice and then stops immediately after. Clearly, this is a power supply issue I think to myself, but I hold out a little hope.

Now, having already been on hold for thirty minutes, the automated voice tells me I should be on hold for about ten minutes. Then ten minutes later it tells me I should be on hold for about 90 minutes.

Okay, fine. I just want to get this PC going so I can go on with my life. A customer shouldn’t have to deal with stuff like this. An hour and a half go by, and I finally get someone on the line. I told him the issue with the computer, and he tells me, “Well either take it back or buy a new power supply”.

Okay. Normally I would have no problem taking back a PC, but you can’t buy anything you want these days because of the pandemic, hoarders, scalpers, delivery shortages, silicon shortages, etc. The dude on the line offered nothing, and I knew I wasn’t going to get anywhere with it.

No offer of fixing it, nothing. The dude could tell I was angry, but we quickly ended the call. I didn’t cuss at him, berate him, or anything, but it was a really crappy experience (I could tell he was worried I was going to explode on him but I didn’t).

The dude wasn’t sympathetic or understanding at all, he just wanted to get me off the phone. That’s the only way I can describe how the call went. It was an hour and half wait for a thirty second conversation with no concern or possible resolutions really offered to me other than those aforementioned.

So, now I have to repackage this PC back into its box and take it back to Best Buy. Which I do. But I opted to buy a new power supply instead of returning it. I wanted THIS SPECIFIC PC, and there are absolutely no other options available to me at the store because they have like a total of two other desktop computers in stock, and this was the ONLY one of this specific model.

So, I bought a Corsair (850m I believe the model is, I don’t have it nearby to look at). This was another purchase that cost me an additional $130 dollars. Yay! Took the PC and power supply back home, and then set about removing the old non-modular power supply from the case and installing the new power supply.

The whole uninstallation and installation took approximately about an hour because it is indeed a rats nest of cables to work around, but I got it installed fairly prompt. Did a test power-on on the kitchen table, and it did indeed power-on.

Cool. I have a PC now. It works just fine now that I put in my own BRAND NEW power supply. Thanks IBUYPOWER. You will not be a consideration for anything in my future. I may be using one of your computers currently, but your terrible customer service will steer me wide and clear of you in the future.

Honestly, if we weren’t in the current situation with the silicon shortage and all around shortages, and scalpers, I would’ve been building my own PC instead of buying this pre-built. But, most of us know that isn’t really an option that is on the table these days, and I needed a new computer.

I guess if anyone else has problems, I would tell them to deal with customer service on the phone, but MAKE THEM DO SOMETHING about the problem. Unlike how I did. I just knew I wasn’t going to get anywhere with the guy on the phone.

To those that don’t have much of an option these days with buying a new PC, these are viable option, however, as my review will relate, you are indeed rolling the dice. Unfortunately, due to everything I’ve experienced I have to rate this product as a 1 star.

The overall value of the system could be good, had I not experienced this. But, it begs the question of how long will other people’s power supplies in their same models of this PC last? Yikes!.

So ive had this unit for a few months now. I got it to start trying my hand at PCVR. Let me be clear- this PC is no slouch and has plenty of ports for peripherals- but trying to have stable game play in a flight simulator (DCS) HAS BEEN A NIGHTMARE.

I finally figured out how to diagnose and fix the issues i was having. That said it has cost me nearly 1000 more dollars to get the CPU cooler and Power Supply i needed to be able to support my venture.

I havent tried any other games because i primarily use consoles to game but needed something stronger for flying. For the money im sure its a stable platform for the average gamer- but not for VR. cooling that comes from the factory is garbage.

If youre looking for something that will handle XMPs, Overclocks, and VR, save another 500-1000$ and get a bigger rig with better components and cooling. It will be worth it in the long run. Again- highly biased review based on what my goal was and is for this unit, but im disappointed in the unit and the sales person who advised me this would be more than sufficient to run such a game.

I found 3 major overlooked issues and 2 minors. 1. The front panel light and RGB fans where not on when system powered up. Nor could I get them to turn on with the on/off RGB button. The problem was not that they didn’t have power; either RGB button, I/O panel or cables were bad or circuit was open.

I did my own troubleshooting by following the fan power cables to where they all connected. I found that the 5pin mini power connector was disconnected to the front panel. Once I connected it and powered the system back on.

All was working, which means that 5pin mini is a jumper to close the circuit. I am so glad it was not RGB button, I/O panel, broken or cut cables. As a tech I know these are a pain in the behind to find.

Hot glue would probably melted the 5pin mini connector. 2. The 3700X retail processor comes with Wraith Prism RGB heatsink/fan. Why was this off brand “Cooler One” put in? Its a 5/6 LED light base with whitish/clear fan that only changes into 3 color modes.

The only choices I had from PolyChromeSync were Random, Wave and Rainbow. I did get the Static color mode to turn on once before the PolyChromeSync software update. I would have rather seen the Wraith Prism RGB ring heatsink/fan in place then this $15 fan.

Which I could only find on that other site as non-RGB type. 3. Advertisement on Newegg site was a 1TB NVMe SSD and what was given was a 1TB SATA SSD. Checking the system history in Device Manager shows there was Gen4 NVMe attach at one point.

So either QA removed it or Newegg does not have the right information to put on the site from Skytech. The downgrade of SATA read/writes/random/IOPs vs NVMe is way lower. NVMe is about 2000-3000MB/secs read/write/randoms and about 500,000 IOPs compared to 80,000 IOPs.

Even a lower grade NVMe stick is faster then SATA SSD. Price comparison is $20 less. But when you say NVMe is in system and get something else “I the consumer/customer feel cheated!” If anyone wants to check comparisons: wdc 1tb sata ssd vs wdc nvme sn550 ssd.

**Update** Contacted Newegg about what was advertise and what was actually sent. After a few emails I was refunded the cost difference. Instead of having to send the whole unit back. Thank you NewEgg for allowing this a an option.

4. A minor issue and does not reflect performance of the computer. Keyboard bump keys are left index finger F and right index finger J. Who creates one right index finger K? Skytech apparently. I kept goofing the spelling my own name and I had to go back to my Magegee keyboard.

I did not want to relearn what took me almost 20 years to perfect in typing because of one letter off. It also goofs you up on the letters above and below that row. Same goes for the gaming mouse it felt unnatural so I unconnected and reconnected my magegee mouse.

Not even Canadian keyboard layout keys have K as the right index finger! 5. Another minor issue and does not reflect performance. One of the front Ringed RGB top fan housing has slight vibration noise when computer is first turned on.

If I tap the top grill a little bit, noise will go away and continues to be silent after that. I guess this is acceptable being refurbished computer. All in all not a bad system just a lose connection, choice on processor heatsink/fan, 1 bad advertisement of SSD (**been refunded), molding of keyboard key bump on K not J and one vibrating housing of RBG fan.

This system should have been right around $1200 not what was asked. I cant really change out anything as the warranty does not cover changing of parts thus breaking the seal. One thing I can say is, I as technician would have never let this leave testing bench knowing these issues, New or Refurbished.

While the keyboard isn’t the highest of quality, it’s still a deal and a half for this computer. It’s fast to boot up and load into games because of its SSD, The glass swinging door is extremely useful for maintenance, nd the LEDs work great.

The cord management is really clean, and the cherry on top for me was the graphics. I reccomend using this computer on a 1440 monitor. The CPU is slightly older than the GPU, but they still work well together.

If the CPU can run tarkov this well, It’s a pretty solid unit. I would definitely reccomend this to anyone who needs a good gaming rig (With plenty of room for future upgrades).

Ran some initial tests with Heaven benchmark and with all the boxes checked, ultra mode, and 2x anti-aliasing, I was still seeing between 90-115 fps. I’ve only had it less than 24 hours, but the machine looks promising.

I had hoped to be further along with it, though. I’ve lost hours trying to get the case and fan lights working. I’ve gone through Skytech’s troubleshooting page, I’ve looked at countless posts and YouTube videos, but to no avail.

This has been all the more difficult since I’m just making some semi-educated guesses about the fan hardware involved. Before purchasing, I toyed with the idea of building my own PC again. But I decided against that because my free time is limited and I really wanted to hit the ground running with a prebuilt.

And while it’s true the lights are just cosmetic, they’re also cool and very prominent in all the product photos. And spending this much time troubleshooting has been a bit frustrating.

Had some boot troubles initially, but all was sorted out. Skytech’s support is quick, personable and very reasonable. Truly great support. I think at its current price point and the market being the way it is, you couldn’t actually build this machine for cheaper yourself, so it is a bargain.

For those wondering my machine came with a Biostar B450MH V6. 3, a no frills barebones board, but a very stable & reliable board. The GPU mine came with is an MSI GeForce GTX 1660 Ventus XS 6GB, really happy with this, it is a dual fan unit and comes with a backplate.

The RAM, 2x 8GB ADATA XPG Sticks. These report in the bios as 2666 sticks not 3000, but the model name reports as DDR4-3000. Manually overclocked, these sticks do run 3000 MHz stable. Hard-drive, a WD BLUE 500GB SSD, solid reliable drive.

The Case, obviously a Thermaltake S200 Snow, a beautiful case with a ton of RGB modes to select from and a Thermaltake Smart Series 500w PSU. All in all this is a great build, Skytech hasn’t just thrown in cheap parts like many prebuilds, they clearly took the time to select parts that have proven reliability and also keep build costs reasonable.

It’s been extremely good to me. Despite all my complaints, I’ve nicknamed it, and I think I’ll be sticking with it for quite some time. It’s a stable computer and a great friend to add to your desk. The computer’s power supply likely would not support overclocking with everything running simultaneously.

The computer starts up insanely fast and everything seems to feel like it’s gliding along on clouds. I’d beware of treating the glass too roughly or jostling things too much- as computer equipment is sensitive.

Also, if you plan to install a second laptop-type drive as I did, please do yourself a favor and purchase a SATA cable along with it. It’ll save you time and investment of energy with digging into the wire bank in the back.

It’d also be prudent to purchase a larger power supply if you plan to upgrade in the near future, but if you don’t plan on doing any installs, forget about all that. It works as shipped. Just take care of it and it’ll take care of you.

I had to return 3 different PC’s all due to different issues. They come with a quality control checklist which is obviously just pencil whipped. The first PC had an intermittent power issue which then shorted out the motherboard.

upon inspection most of the cables were barely plugged in and the cable for the power button and LED control was bent over so much that it bent the pins on the board. Also the LED control never did work from the first power up.

The replacement for the first PC arrived and while I was unboxing it I noticed that the case had a huge dent in it on the side and the back had bent tabs for the screws that hold the sides on. The third and final PC was gone thru by the geek squad on arrival due to the first 2 being junk and when they powered it up the water cooler was making a lot of noise as if it wasn’t full.

I return the final one on the spot and went with a different brand all together. None of these issues should reflect on Bestbuy and their employees as they were extremely accommodating and did everything they could to make things right for me.

Just bought a Skytech Chronos with an Intel 11700f and a Gigabyte Aorus RTX 3070 Master (with a cool LCD screen). They listened to GN’s review!!! The front plastic white paint matches the metal. The cable management was well done.

The glass panel now is attached to the metal frame and it slides back when you unscrew it making it easy to take off. No bent screws. XMP profiles were set to 3200 like advertised. It was well assembled.

Only thing that it’s lack is the Mobo as it’s a Gigabyte B560 DS3H AC-Y1 which has no Bios updates on the website as it’s only available to the company that prebuilds it. Also, the SSD Sata brackets don’t have screws to attach an extra additional SSD to nor an extra SATA cable to add another SSD.

The PSU seems decent but swapping it out for a Thermaltake 750w GOLD and the ram for 32GB of Corsair. I’ll also be swapping out the network card as it only used Bluetooth 4 and the wifi speeds are kinda slow.

Will be getting an Intel Wifi 6 card.

I bought one just a week before Black Friday for $250 off. Cons first: Small-ish pc case, and fans are rather cheaply made, you may want to upgrade those for better airflow. The onboard wifi is only ac, wifi 4 if I’m not mistaken.

Get a dedicated network card for wifi 6/E if you need better wifi performance. No HDD for extra storage room. Pros: Pre-installed Windows 10 is a major plus, 11 is simply not ready for prime time yet.

You want a stable OS if you’re a serious gamer. RTX3070. Unless you were able to get one of these for MSRP, the GPU is what you buy these prebuilt PCs for, it runs any AAA games you throw on at max settings for anything 1440p or less.

If you want 4K 170hz gaming you will have to buy something better. This machine is not perfect by any means, but I personally do not trust other prebuilt brands like iBuyPower, CyberpowerPC and ABS. Nor I wanted to deal with Canada Computers for their notorious after sales services, so this is as good as I could get.

I’ve had this PC for 3 weeks at the time of this review. It replaces an HP Compaq that I purchased as a refurb about 10 years ago. That computer still works, but it can no longer keep up with the demands placed upon it by advances in software that is commonly used; it would need upgrades in memory and probably other areas to accept the Windows 11 upgrade; and I have wanted something with touchscreen capabilities for several years now.

The touchscreen feature is everything I hoped it would be. It’s like using my tablet but with more visual real estate and more power and capability. I’ve learned how to “right-click” by positioning 2 fingers vertically on the screen.

I enjoy having the ability to tap the screen to control it in addition to using the mouse. And the slight warmth of the screen doesn’t make quick, occasional touches and gestures in the least uncomfortable.

Setup was very easy. I turned on the PC, and the “nice lady” talked me through everything. As with any computer set-up, it is strongly recommended to do this in a distraction-free environment when one is alert so things don’t get entered incorrectly or steps missed.

I have already upgraded to Windows 11, too. This PC connected wirelessly to my Wi-fi, eliminating the need for a wired connection to my cable modem. I was pleasantly, elatedly surprised to have it also connect wirelessly via the network to my HP printer; that printer was USB connected to my Compaq.

Another cord gone! The onboard speaker eliminates yet another cord, but I’m reserving the option to connect my old speakers to it through the headphone jack. Some may like a richer sound than this PC natively supplies.

I’m not complaining; without speakers, my Compaq was inaudible. And with the wireless connectivity, I believe I have options about wireless listening and alternate places where I can put this PC. I did get an issue a few days ago of an unresponsive screen after an incomplete startup.

When pressing Control-Alt-Delete or Escape, restarting from a hard boot, and restarting after unplugging/re-plugging all failed, I held the Shift after pressing the power button to bring the PC up in Safe mode.

This fixed the problem, and I was able to restart normally after that. The resolution seems to have changed slightly, resulting in noticeably larger images, but since I’m visually impaired anyway, I’m not bothered about that.

I can probably fix it in Settings if I need to. I find the current speed and processing capability of this PC refreshingly fast, especially after the Compaq, which had lost the ability to stream videos in full-screen without freezing, and had to have the quality adjusted down to below 500p to play without skipping in regular mode.

The fact that it only had 4GB memory doubtless impacted this. And, compared the the increasingly incessant clicking and clacking of the Compaq, which would become a full-throated roar if I shut the door to the desk compartment where it spent its latter years, the low purr of this PC is barely noticeable.

And while a cordless mouse and keyboard might be nice, I’m sufficiently satisfied with the corded keyboard that I’m not in any great hurry to replace it yet. As for the mouse, I’m subbing in a vintage (about 20 years, I think) Microsoft trackball that currently costs more than it did when I bought it new, and which I have now used with 4 PC’s, including this one.

If I do finally decide to get a different keyboard, I think I’d like one with a trackpad/trackball situation. This PC accepted my venerable trackball without a fuss. I haven’t used the camera yet, but I like that it has one.

When my curiosity ie ready, I will learn how to use it. I wish transferring data to this PC had been easier. It wasn’t much data that I wanted to transfer, but it would have been nice to have access to the Microsoft Office software that was installed on my Compaq.

I did ultimately find a reliable alternative app to use, and I did discover that HP sells something one can buy, called PCMover, to help with the data migration process. I ended up not buying it, but it’s nice to know it’s out there.

The rest of what I wanted is saved onto an external hard drive, and I’ve gotten at those files with not much fuss. Unless I’m misremembering, every PC I’ve owned past the first one has been an HP, and I think the current HP printer is my 2nd.

So I’m obviously brand-loyal here. But if you’re new to the brand, welcome, and I think you’ll like this PC if you buy it.

Pros: Great value if you want very fast CPU performance and not much graphics performance. Best feature: nearly half the speed of the very fast Ryzen 9 5950X at only a quarter of the system price for multithreaded CPU-intensive work! You’re getting a $325 CPU chip plus a fast 256GB NVME SSD and 16GB RAM in a $600 sale-price computer.

Can’t beat the price/performance! Easy to add a SATA SSD or 3. 5” hard drive. Built-in graphics are completely adequate for a home or small business machine. Very fast system for browsing and office work or software development.

I’ve made it run even faster for Iron Fish CPU-based crypto mining by putting on a much better Noctua NH-U9S air cooler with 2 fans and leaving the side panel off for better airflow. This allows auto-overclocking with Ryzen Master to all 8 cores running at 4.

4 GHz continuously, and the CPU temp is only 65C. Some applications that would benefit from more memory bandwidth need a 2nd 16GB RAM DIMM added (to use the 2nd CPU memory channel). Compatible with standard DDR4-3200 CL22 DIMMs such as Crucial.

Surprisingly power-efficient when not running CPU-intensive workloads (<50W from wall socket). Efficient even if you do push the CPU hard: under 90W. If it fits your needs, you’ll love the speed and the low price and the compactness.

Quiet, too. Cons: not much extra power available from the power supply, and no auxiliary power connectors except for SATA ones. WiFi is weak and slow (1×1). If you need fast networking, use the gigabit LAN port.

Sneaky of HP to hobble the RAM bandwidth with only a single DIMM, but for $72 you can add another 16GB DIMM and get full speed. No tweaks in the BIOS for clocking changes or RAM speed adjustment or undervolting.

However, you can tune core voltage and speed manually with Ryzen Master (will void your warranty). Limited gaming potential due to small power supply and no auxiliary 6- or 8-pin power connector for a GPU card.

You could put in an older 75W PCIe-powered Nvidia GPU like an RTX 1060 or RTX 1650 and do light gaming. The PCIe x16 slot is only PCIe 3. 0, but it’s adequate for the add-in graphics cards above. I ended up buying a 2nd system because they fit my needs well and are very cost-effective.

I bought this machine to replace my daughter’s workstation. She runs Debian GNU/Linux stable (Bullseye) and that presented a couple exciting hurdles – the graphics hardware is newer than Debian’s kernel supports, for one.

We installed her nVidia Geforce GT 1030 graphics card, and that was no longer an issue. Next, the chipset itself is also a bit too new, and threw an error in some ACPI code, but setting “noapic” on the kernel command line made the system happy.

All that done, the system is blazingly fast – especially the NVME drive. It’s really nice. I know other reviews noted issues with wifi, but we plugged ours into gigabit ethernet and we haven’t tested the wifi.

The gigabit ethernet seems responsive and reliable so far. We got this system for a combination of power efficiency and a good gaming (Steam games, World of Warcraft, GCompris) experience, and it delivers both for a great price.

The set-up involved a bit more work than I expected mostly because the hardware is so new, but now that it’s running, it’s a great little GNU/Linux workstation.

I’ve been looking at building a computer, but was having trouble deciding all the pieces that I would want. This gave me a solid starting platform that’s easily upgradeable. It has the LG1700 MB so I’ll be upgrading the CPU soon.

Already replaced the 8GB RAM with 2x 16GB. Also already added an SSD PCIe, and the case has room for more SSD or HDD if needed. The case is nice looking and I’ll be able to easily mount additional fans or a cooling loop no problem.

It’s nifty, since I got a functional gaming PC that I’m upgrading over time while I’m setting the replaced parts aside to build a PC for my wife. Aside from waiting for sales, building a similar PC was as expensive, if not more expensive than getting this.

Plenty of I/O on the case for me. The video card is just ok, but again, I’ll be upgrading at some point.

This is my first gaming PC after playing on console since I was around 5 years old. I wanted to find a beginners friendly PC that was able to run battle royales smoothly. After help from Best Buy staff, they eventually recommended this PC.

I ordered it and I was able to pick it up the next day! Out of the box, it takes about 10 minutes before you have it running and downloading games. The performance is great! It is very smooth, fast, and does not lag.

I have mainly played Apex, Fortnite and Halo Infinite and have not had issues while gaming. The one thing to watch out for- some games will automatically ask you to install “EasyAntiCheat” with your game downloading.

Don’t! EasyAntiCheat is not compatible with Windows 11, which will cause your game to crash anytime you try to load it. You will have to uninstall the EasyAntiCheat software. Other than that, I highly recommend this PC for gamers, especially if you are a beginner!.

I’ve had this rig for 2 days and I’m returning it tomorrow. Games look great, crisp graphics and run super smooth. Well, at least for a few minutes. Once I dare to do the unthinkable and play a game for 4 or 5 minutes, it crashes.

Mostly crashes to desktop, sometimes it restarts completely. I’ve updated every driver known to man, followed way too many tutorial videos, and have nearly gone mad from reading pc technical repair forums.

I’ve had enough. Tomorrow I stuff it all in the box and bring it back. Despite my suffering, I will ask for a new one. Those 2-3 minutes of amazing gameplay were magical. Fingers crossed round 2 with this rig goes better.

If so, I will edit this review into a glowing tribute to the magnificence of the machine and Best Buy. Until then, I wait in disappointment and frustration.

Received the Dell Inspiron Compact desktop model 3910 in Mist Blue. Was shipped very fast and packed well in heavy duty box. It has the 64 bit Windows 11 OS, Intel Core i5-12400 Processor, 12 GB memory, 256GB SSD drive and Intel UHD 730 Graphics.

Also has a DVD+/-RW drive, wireless Wifi 6 for fast connection speeds, Bluetooth and an SD card reader. For your monitor you have an HDMI input, one Display port input and the other ports consist of 4 USB 3.

0 and 4 USB 2. 0 as well as a USB type-C. Dell also includes a wired mouse and full size keyboard – both USB. Upon unpacking I noticed how nice and lightweight it was with everything conveniently placed.

On the front you’ll find a power button, 4 USB inputs and the SD reader plus of course the DVD player at top. Upon first starting the computer it was very quiet and booted into a setup menu. You then can connect to a wired ethernet or a wireless network (which is what I chose).

It then started checking for updates. I have a 32″ 4K monitor and so far the images are crisp, brilliant and clear. I had tried using this monitor with another computer and all it did was have an annoying, non-stop flicker.

No such issue using this computer so am very pleased about that. The setup went smoothly with questions about your usage type, options you plan on doing with the computer, etc. Mainly the normal setup routines you find on any new computer.

I did plug in my Bose computer speakers but I also use a Zeppelin bluetooth speaker that connects flawlessly to the Dell every time I turn it on. It uses Microsoft Edge for the browser and there are 10 standard icons across bottom of the screen.

Another thing I really noticed after getting it all updated was how blazing fast things load, including when you first turn it on! Within about 10 seconds you are ready to browse or work. Every website or app I clicked on just popped right up on the screen.

I am impressed and really love that about this Dell. I played music, went on my singing program website where I record songs and it performed perfectly! Since I am no longer a gamer that is one thing I couldn’t test.

I did do a speed test though and on wireless was surprised to see it running at 489 download and 23 upload. We pay for just 400 service but this Dell rocks for extra speed! It seriously is the fastest running computer in my house.

I also used the built in Power Media Player to play a DVD and it looked awesome. Since the SSD drive is only a 256GB you can easily add an external drive or another SSD drive of a larger size. I do find that I will need an external drive but they are so reasonable in price now it’s not a problem at all and should not deter you from making the purchase of this computer.

If you want a basic, but remember REALLY FAST and QUIET, desktop without a lot of bells and whistles this is the one for you! It seems very reliable and was so easy to setup, has enough inputs for what most folks will need and I can’t find anything wrong with it at all to mention.

This Dell desktop is smartly simplified and delivers GREAT home productivity performance while maintaining features that home users aren’t ready to give up yet. I was able to connect this system to an existing HDMI monitor flawlessly and the included keyboard and mouse were a nice simple, but sturdy set to replace my old ones.

This device coming with a DVD ROM drive was a welcome addition, one that some home users are still looking for and the mixture of a small SSD for Windows and apps and a larger HDD for data and large apps/games is a nice design.

It allows for the speediness of the SSD in Windows where needed but the HDD seemed plenty fast enough for my OneDrive data and the Windows Store apps I directed there. I didn’t try any games on the device, besides a few Windows Store basic games, as this device has Intel’s integrated graphics, which really aren’t designed for complex graphics work or gaming.

Besides the GPU, the rest of the machine is pretty powerful. It’s upgradeable all the way to 64GB RAM from the included 12GB, which is STILL enough for most homes. Storage is all standard modular, as well as WiFi, which is a Bluetooth 5/WiFi 6 combo card that should serve well for a while.

This system is also built in Dell’s standard mini-tower chassis, which allows for Power Supply upgrades from the included 180w (base) to 300w adapters that will then support modern GPU PCIe upgrades.

From Dell, official support for up to a GTX1650 card is available with PsU upgrade, but online people seem to be able to push to an RTX 2060 card in some variants, which start to turn this capable little desktop into a VERY nice casual gaming rig.

Remember that it’s all air-cooled, but the included cooler looks adequate for an i5, and the air direction hood seems logical in this level machine. No guarantees on cooling or additional fan needs if you upgrade the graphics or CPU.

All in all a nice modular, easy-to-service system that should serve families or small businesses well, and still includes the audio connections and DVD capabilities for legacy needs or entertainment use cases.

The Acer Aspire XC-830-UB11 is a great computer for anyone that needs a simple workstation or a small computer for a home media center. If you are looking for a gaming computer or a ‘pro’ pc, this is not the one for you, but if you just need a computer for your work/office or if you want something small and light to use in your media center, then this is a good choice for you.

I personally have been using this computer as a media computer in my living room, the fact that it has a DVD drive and the small footprint make it fit great into my media center. I have installed Plex and am using this computer as a client to watch movies off of my main computer in my living room and it works great for this use case.

The keyboard and mouse that are included are not very good quality, but if you don’t already have one, it is included so you don’t need to provide your own if needed. The 8Gb of RAM is fine, it would be nice to have more, but I think for this type of desktop it is plenty for most tasks.

My only complaint is the SSD is only 256Gb so if you are saving stuff on the computer itself it will quickly use up the available hard-drive space, I personally would recommend saving everything on either an external hard-drive or using some kind of cloud storage.

The computer is easily upgradable so if you do need more hard-drive space, you can replace the current SSD or add another drive using the PCIe slot that is available on the motherboard. Be aware that if you do require more memory than the 8Gb of RAM, this processor does not support more than 8Gb so it already includes the max supported memory in this configuration, if you need more memory you would need to check if there is another configuration with a different CPU that supports more memory.

Overall this is a great computer for anyone who just needs to do light work or for someone who wants to use the small size and DVD drive as a home media center. If you need more power or your work requires graphics or high compute power then this isn’t a good option for you.

This Acer desktop computer was extremely easy to setup and get running right away. It does not come with a monitor so you’ll have to supply your own but as this is considered more of a budget pc, you can still afford a decent one.

Once unboxed, I plugged everything in. There is a basic mouse and keyboard included that you will most likely want to upgrade at some point. Go with a wireless set as they will be much better made than what’s included.

There are six USB ports along with audio jacks on the front and back so you can connect a microphone and speakers. After the hardware was all setup, I ran the relevant Windows 11 and hardware driver updates and then configured the couple of user accounts I needed.

This took about an hour in total but everything worked like a charm. For the standard configuration, this comes with an Intel Celeron processor, an integrated video card, 8GB of ram and a 256GB SSD hard drive.

It is definitely on the smaller size when you look at the desktop market these days but knowing that this is more of a basic budget pc, it will do the trick for your day to day tasks such as movie or entertainment streaming and less memory intensive games.

Windows boots quickly and applications load fast as well. You won’t be doing intense video editing with this machine but it would be great for going through email, running Microsoft Office products and keeping your photographs organized.

I was looking for a computer that had a RTX 3070 but didn’t charge me an arm and leg just to get it. This box is great with the only real complaint would be it only has one 16 GB RAM DIMM. Not a game changer since I plan to upgrade to 32 soon.

Overall the 8 core 16 logical cores is great. It’s not the new 12 gen but I never wanted to be that bleeding edge. The case is really cool because you can customize four different areas on the box. Three lights on the front and the Alienware logo on the right side of the box.

I previously had a laptop that was not name brand and I did miss that. Now the liquid cooler is crazy. It might be that I’ve never had one before but I must say I’m very impressed. I can play a game which really cranks up the heat but all I ever hear is a mild hum off the liquid cooler fan.

I never hear anything else. After exiting a heavy graphic intense game the systems goes back to a quiet state literally within 5 seconds!! I was blown away by how well that works. This is very well made and they did a great job fitting everything in the case.

The only other minor thing I have to gripe about would be the side cover that is tricky to put back on. You really have to make sure no cable or anything else minor is poking out or the case side will not snap back on.

Again minor but just thought I’d point that out. Over all the price and what you get I could not find anywhere else other than Best Buy which I thought was odd but I’m not complaining. Great box with lots of power.

Oh and I can verify the power supply is a 1k watt one which is great. Would recommend to the gamer or someone who just wants a whole lot of PC without going over $2k to get it.

I usually don’t rate products when I buy them. But I expect when I pay $1600 for a pc fot it not to be falling apart. This is as cheaply made as it can be. The video card isn’t even screwed in to the motherboard instead there is a cheap piece of plastic that is supposed to hold up the gpu.

It had it 16 gb stick of cheap as$ memory. Trying to put that left side on when you open the left side unless you get lucky then the metal tabs will break trying to get that left side back on. It is not as easy as it looks since all of the top tabs broke I just scotch taped the side and said for get about it.

I upgraded the memory to 64 gb but it is only detecting 32 gb. So I have to figure out whats going on with that. For The money it should had been better built. I would recommend either build your own or or have someone you trust build it for or micro center has bettter built than this poc.

I will be writing an in depth review, but for now I wanted to make everyone aware that this machine has power mode issues. On windows 11, manually putting it in sleep mode would sleep fine, but then reboot instead of wake up.

I worked with dell and I was approved to rebuild it with windows 10 to test if it worked better. You can manually put it to sleep and it does wake up, but it never goes to sleep automatically no matter what.

We spent days troubleshooting, I rebuilt it a few more times and at the end of it all they wanted to replace my motherboard and ssd drive with a refurb. At that point I decided to cut my losses and the many hours I/we have spent on this and just return it.

Why are we replacing parts on a brand new machine? That just makes no sense and doesn’t do a whole lot for my level of confidence on the product. I was hoping this was the one, but apparently not.

This PC was easy to set up with great airflow in the case. The lights on the PC are customization and easy to adjust also the keyboard it comes with is great and can match the other lights or you can change the design to you’re own liking.

The mouse is just a plain red gaming mouse but you can’t really complain because the keyboard makes up for it. The PC can run almost every game on Ultra settings above 60 fps. If you have the spare money I would really recommend this PC, especially for people who don’t know much about PC gaming and specs.

The PC is quite small width and length wise but decently tall. The wifi adapter is kinda weird and the cable connecting it is quite short therefore making you most likely have to place the wifi adapter on you’re desk.

other than that, this PC has no limitation currently (graphics wise) and should still be able to run many games that come out in the future.

its a great pc and its a very very underrated product. I can run 1080p60 quality while streaming on youtube, runs games like fortnite on ultra at 90+ fps, and its very very fast

Excellent machine for the moderate gamer. I had an older Lenovo gaming system that was a few years old. It was time for an upgrade and came across this beauty. I can tell you right now, if want smooth graphics and effortless set up, then this is the machine for you.

I have no idea why some say the fans are loud. I cannot hear them running and the machine stays very cool. Those people are probably trying to make the computer do things that it isn’t capable of.

This gaming PC has out performed all expectations i had and is a tremendous upgrade to the previous tower I’d been using. Easy to uograde with swing-arm tech. So many ports put in the best places to make wire routing a brees.

HP’s OMEN 40L Desktop brings you top level performance all in a stunning mid-tower case which is perfect for all of your gaming needs. While there are some options of customization, the pre-built options seem to be fairly well balanced which means you’ll get a good overall value.

My OMEN arrived well packaged with just the right amount of support to ensure that it would survive the delivery. The interior cardboard support did a surprisingly good job of keeping the PC nice and snug.

After removing the PC from the box, I verified the internal hardware to ensure no cables came loose upon transport which passed in my book. The first thing I noticed was just how beautiful this case is and how thoughtfully it was engineered.

It features a glass side panel (which is fairly common) to display the internal components, and plenty of ventilation both along the front panel and the top of the case. It also was designed with easy access to internal components (toolless access) on the front glass, left glass, and right rear panel.

Other things that made quite an impression on me, the GPU bracket is no joke with this case; while it’s made of plastic, its large enough to accommodate even the largest GPUs on the market. It provides excellent stability for the RTX 3070, only peculiar thing is that it uses a proprietary adapter to connect to the 2x 6+2 pin power supply cables which isn’t a big deal.

The OMEN’s CPU AIO (all-in-one cooler) looks amazing as it looks bold against the contrast of the black case. I was also happy with other components utilized in the build, such as the HyperX 2×8 GB DDR 4 (heat sinks and setup with dual channel to provide optimal performance), a terabyte NVMe M.

2 Western Digital SDD for storage, and of course AMD Ryzen 7 5800x processor (not visible, however verified with cpu-z). Other notable components are the Cooler Master Power Supply along with Cooler Master fans, all excellent choice components which allows this PC to run flawlessly.

The default package does come preinstalled with Windows 11 Home (Professional would be a better), but works either way. Where, I found myself a bit disappointed was with the front panel IO. It’s great that it comes with 4 USB ports, but it did not have any USB-C ports which is fairly common with PCs at this level.

Additionally, while the OMEN AIO cooler looks fantastic, it tends to be louder than I would expect, especially when not underload, however it does a decent job of keeping the CPU cool when it is underload.

Gaming on the OMEN 40L has been fantastic, this PC is well optimized and it performs very well for its cost/value. I ran a quick synthetic benchmark test with UserBenchMark – and HP built a great PC: results indicating performance overall is 81st percental, meaning out of 100 PC’s built similarly, only 19 PC’s out performed this particular model.

I’m able game with this PC paired with a 34inch wide monitor (3440 x 1440 resolution) and still achieve an average frame rate of 165 – 280 FPS depending on the title. Performance would likely improve if just gaming at 1080P and I’m sure lower gaming in 4k, but stable and consistent.

This rig is perfect for gaming, and while it may not be using the very latest (most high-end components), it’s an excellent value as it performs well and the design of this PC affords you the ability to easily make upgrades in the future.

If you’re looking for a great gaming no fuss PC, then this would make a great addition or upgrade!.

I firstly want to state that this machine is really quite good overall. Aesthetics are quite nice, most components are up to “gamer” standards, and you really won’t be going wrong with this machine as a pre-built.

I’m impressed with the name brand RAM, installed in a dual-channel configuration which is important for a Ryzen processor. The 120mm AIO water cooler looks nice and performs reasonably well. The machine maintains good thermals and stays quiet while gaming.

One issue I had after receiving this machine was that the CPU got seemingly stuck at 0. 5GHz. Upgrading/reinstalling the BIOS fixed this issue. The BIOS definitely leaves a lot to be desired. Very few settings are configurable here, but some are exposed through the Omen software and Ryzen master.

The motherboard appears to be HP specific and there have only been a few BIOS updates. I worry that this machine will miss out on Ryzen firmware upgrades that fix instability/performance issues in the future.

I would prefer having a USB-C or two on the front panel instead of four USB-A ports (2 USB 3. 1 and 2 USB 2). The design of where the USB ports are makes installing and removing some devices difficult.

McAfee being pre-installed is annoying. The other software is HP related. The Omen software is alright and even enables pushing the RAM with an XMP profile. The included mouse and keyboard are awful.

In my opinion, if you are already spending on a machine you should also spend for a good mouse and keyboard and not rely on cheap included peripherals. I appreciate that this machine provides easy upgradeability with push buttons to pop off the side panels.

There is room for 2. 5″ drives behind the motherboard tray and the RTX 3070 can be easily swapped out for a new GPU in the future. The motherboard has one empty PCI express 8x slot that can be used for a faster NIC, USB controller, or other PCIe device in the future.

Really enjoying this machine so far. It performs great and should be useable/upgradeable long into the future.

I’ve been using this all AMD build for a couple of weeks and so far am very pleased. (6600 Ryzen, 5800x CPU). I recommend, I don’t think most will be displeased. Note: I haven’t overclocked it or run HyperX on the RAM.

No need and I’m not into stressing the build for a few FPS when I’m getting good enough FPS. Glad I didn’t go with water cooler, this fan is doing fine and isn’t loud. Interesting design with what appears to be wrapped heatpipes running to the exterior fan housing or some such thing.

Pros: – Quiet so far in every test. – Good performance, Passmark score of 93%. That is performs as well or better than 93% of computers currently on the market. Good enough for me. Much better than my previous Pavilion entry gaming rig with the 2400g and R580 graphics.

(Its test hit around the 50% mark. ) – Handles my Two 2k 165mhz monitors with ease. -Stress test Red Dead Redemption 2 – Mixed high and ultra barely works the fan, with radeon chill capped at 85fps (no need to cook the thing) and only using 3200 ram speed (no hyperx, again no need to cook it) I’m getting reasonable temps in the 60s to low 70s and up to 85 frames.

Very little more challenging than RDR2. – Fairly easy to setup, no problems or discouraging incidents. – Clean build, looks nice, lots of cooling features. Really seems well constructed and solid. I like the look.

I could do without the glass and blinky lights but nobody does that anymore. 🙁 If you want that, lots of pretty tunable lighting. Cons: – A few adds from McAffee and related that are annoying. I’ll tune them out.

– Big and heavy for a micro sized MB with little expansion , may help the cooling I suppose. – Windows 11 – just the pain of figuring out where everything is again in the new Windows, but so far I think I’ll like the OS in the end.

– Cheapest of cheap Keyboard and mouse. CMon HP, I know most will buy their own Corsair or Steelseries rig, but you could at least try to provide a decent initial setup for a $2k (with tax) purchase.

Doesn’t have to be tops, but scaling res mouse and some moderatly useful keys would be a reasonable nod, makes for a useful backup. At least your cheap end stuff isn’t annoyingly bad. Same stuff I got with one of your mini computers though.

– For this CPU a Ryzen 6700 option would be nice to pull up the ray tracing potential. 6600 is great frankly if you don’t do 4k or try to ultra everything out, but for a 2k presentation and the rest of the power curve, a 6700 or higther would have made more sense with this CPU.

I couldn’t build this config with that card on the site although all the pieces were floating around in various mixed rigs. For a 1920×1080 setup more than enough power for anything and everything but RT in my estimation.

Don’t expect RT, lowest RT support on market per reviews, but possible. Glad I didn’t want/need RT. – Packaging – really surprised and disappointed that the interior wasn’t protected with an inflatable travel cushion, a lot of the aftermarketers have learned to do that to protect the motherboard/connections from vibration damage.

HP could up this, but mine came in solid, well built, I didn’t detect any damage. The bracket on the viideo card may be seen as sufficient for this, it just seems that the inflatable padding is a sensible protection.

Comments: The CPU performs really well in Passmark. Wish the GPU were one series higher but I’m happy with its performance with my 2k monitors. GPU kills 2D stuff, knocks it out of the park but only hits about 83% or so on the 3D.

Your mileage might vary. It isn’t overheating and I’m driving them more than satisfactorily – that was my biggest worry coming in. CPU runs hotter than I want to see, but according to what I read it is by design by AMD.

Idle (varies by your use/setup) is running high 50’s C to Mid 60’s. GPU is hangin out in the mid 30’s C. (90 degrees is expected on full throttle by AMD. ) Most 3D games I tested against it don’t drive the GPU much over 50 degrees, RDR2 being an exception.

RDR on full Ultra with MSAA turned on does bottom it out though, downt to 5 to 6 FPS! Easy fix is to not use MSAA and things pop back up to 30fps pretty quick with everything else maxed. My high/ultra mix is very good averaging about 60fps, and of course I’m throttling it a bit as I noted.

Curiously, the OMEN desktop temps on CPU vary quite a bit from the Ryzen Master temps. I’m not tryint to OC anything, just being mindful of state, performance and temperature. I’ve been around electronics enough to know cool means longer life.

One bit of advice – all the blinky lights and monitoring stuff you turn on generally means that your system is being polled and may not drop to its most restful and cool state when idle. I haven’t figured it out on this box what that will look like as I turn stuff off, but it made a 5 degree difference to kill Corsair’s ICUE software and just go with default lights on my Pavilion.

Heat kills electronics over time, so for reliability, save the blinky lights for special occasions. Happy with the purchase, pretty good if moderately overpriced rig, but I think the quality was worth it, and when the video card market settles down I suspect price will drop a little.

Not a bad price considering in current GPU market and from what I could tell from my ressearch a far more solid build than the custom gaming shops in general. I’d give it 4. 5 if I could but 5 works as the annoyances are trivial and not subverting my goals and 4 isn’t fair, i’m really happy with it.

So far the best HP build I’ve encountered and I’m full on recommending. CPU is a beast.

The product is a vast improvement over the prior PC. Speed is excellent. Hook up easy. The downside is their documentation and production registration.

TL;DR Version – Great Computer held back by motherboard choice. Still needs some TLC to fix software errors. If you love to tinker, this is a great choice. If you want pain-free gaming though, you may want to look elsewhere.

From a specification standpoint, this is one of the best pre-built gaming desktops you can purchase. 12th Gen i7 is superb when combined with the included AIO water cooler. 32GB of DDR5 RAM is blazing fast and the RTX 3070ti is more than adequate to max out games up to 1440p with ease and even handle some 4k gaming.

In execution, this desktop does runs into issues. The MSI motherboard is adequate, but presents issues with the default configuration. In BIOS, I disabled XMP to reduce DDR5 BSOD occurrences. The CPU already supports DDR5 memory so disabling XMP doesn’t seem to affect performance.

MSI BIOS is also a bit behind compared to its competitors. Lastly, Windows 11 is still working out bugs with stopcheck errors and other things that are causing crashes. There’s not much Corsair can do regarding Windows 11.

Microsoft will eventually iron their stuff out. Overall, it’s a really good gaming desktop that is held back from greatness because of configuration choices that encourages BSODs, crashes, and other issues.

I ordered this PC after I initially had purchased another that immediately was overheating. I was, understandably, cautious with my excitement for this PC. This PC comes with a total of 6 fans, which immediately made my anxiety due to the previous purchase ease.

It is a beautiful rig, the options available for customizing the RGB lights are fabulous, you have plenty to select from. I should note, I had done my research very thoroughly for months prior to making this purchase since it was very much an investment.

I decided that with the price/availability of somewhat ‘future-proof’ GPUs would make a pre-build PC the better move. This build will be good for a while and give me some time before I should have to look at upgrading.

To me, that was a big plus. Add on that I didn’t have to build it myself (would be a first time so scary haha), I felt really confident with the price point vs quality aspect of this purchase. Now I did have some initial issues with my D drive not wanting to recognize, I was able to get it quickly fixed via my Totaltech membership benefits (which I also recommend but that’s another story).

Only reason I went with 4 (would be 4. 5 if it would let me) was due to this. All in all, this is a solid rig if you are looking for a more future proof investment. Corsair did a wonderful job with cord management and the build itself is very nice to look at.

I would recommend this PC for purchase.

My son bought this last December, worked fine for a few days and started crashing in game and on desktop sitting idle. A list of things i did was unplug everything, re seat everything, plug back in. fresh install of windows multiple times.

Bios update, GPU bios update, fresh install of current drivers, chipset drivers. Ran memtest, Prime went as far as installing 2 new sticks of Ram. Adjusted multiple setting in windows and bios to no avail.

Runs fine for a day or two and crashes again. I have built 7 PC’s from scratch and have never experienced the issues this PC has dealt us. I have come to the conclusion that it is possibly a bad CPU or MB.

Contacted Corsair and just get the run around with them wanting you to test this, test that, do this do that. Corsair is absolutely no help once so ever! Pretty sad that they sell defective prebuilt units to consumers that may or may not know much about PC’s.

We tried so many things to get the PC to run correctly my son is so frustrated he won’t even use it anymore. Its only 6 months old as well. This thing has only 1 game installed on it after multiple fresh installs of Windows and still does not run without crashing.

Between work and such we don’t have time to fiddle around trying to take screenshots of blue screens and test this and that for Corsair when they should just send an RMA so they can figure it out. It shouldn’t be left to the consumer.

At the very least send a tech out. People who purchase a prebuilt system may not be computer savvy and should be able to enjoy their purchase unless something was user error. It’s to bad as i like Corsair products but has me second guessing ever purchasing a Corsair product ever again.

0b port, 1 DVI-D port, and 1 DisplayPort 1. 4, rather than 1 HDMI and 3 DisplayPorts; (2) there is no PS/2, VGA, or DVI-D connector and only 4 USB 3. 0 ports; (3) the motherboard graphics port is non-functional, because the processor does not include integrated graphics (in case the graphics card fails).

– Keyboard: (1) it does not include separate media keys, as pictured on the website, so volume control requires holding the FN key on the bottom right with the F2-F4 buttons on the top left, (2) the backlighting can only be changed to a handful of rainbow RGB settings (uniform color options are preferable), and (3) the backspace key is the same size as the letter keys (I am used to an oversized backspace key that is easier to find).

Otherwise, the keyboard seems to be of high quality, and key presses are relatively quiet. – The cooling fans that push air out the top of computer run continuously, regardless of the internal temperature, so there is always some noise.

However, they are relatively quiet. – There is no way to turn off the RGB lighting on the tower, but at least it can be set to a single solid color.

I’ve had this PC for nearly two weeks now and I’ve never been happier. It’s beautiful, the white casing is clean looking, the RGB lights are vibrant and it has a decent amount of presets to choose from and I catch myself changing presets constantly (although the pink one is cute!).

The WiFi has a really strong connection (hits right at the 150-160mbps mark for me, I get 150mbps with my internet provider so it may vary!!). The delivery was on time, packaging was well done and PC was well protected.

I really love the “testing” card they include in the package to show you that it indeed does work and was tested prior to leaving Skytech’s care. This is the perfect starting PC for anyone that’s ready to ditch the laptops (ME!!!!) and I’m so happy my husband found this one for me! The mouse and keyboard doesn’t seem cheaply made, I have yet to try the keyboard but I am currently using the mouse.

At first the scroll wheel felt a bit too “firm” to push down, but it has seemed to have improved over the past nearly two weeks, the mouse lights change colors and it has a really nice braided-type cord to protect it.

the cursor speed has a CPI button as well which made me really happy as these two do not have a program with them.

IšverstiShow in original languageI was lucky enough to get this PC while on sale but even at it’s regular price it’s a steal compared to other brands. It’s cheaper than Dell, has newer processor, larger SSD, and comes with more memory.

I use this computer to surf, email, video chat, and to process photo images that are large files (32 MP). I run Affinity Photo, Corel PSP & AfterShot Pro, and both Topaz noise and sharpen program. I’m sure that a larger processor would be faster but since I do this as an amateur, the 12th Gen I-Core 5 easily handles my workload.

It’s much faster than the older computer it replaced. I did not have to upgrade the include video processor. If you’re a gamer there is a slot that can be used to add a video card. Over all I’m impressed.

There was a time when I built my computers but it seems now the prebuilt computers are substantially cheaper for the same level computer. Unless you’re a hard core gamer this computer will easily handle what you throw at it.

One other factor I considered was upgradeability. You can increase memory up to 32 megs and sine I had the 32 megs of memory on hand I did change it. I also increased the storage by 2T. If you’re not a power user then I highly recommend this computer.

While the system itself is great, there is one major design flaw that is, to me, a huge drawback. If your computer is located in your bedroom, be aware that even if you choose to turn off all lighting, the Legion logo automatically turns on and glows BRIGHT BLUE in sleep mode.

I contacted Lenovo support, and they confirmed it was, in fact “by design”. There is no way to toggle this option off in any way, shape, or form via either Lenovo Vantage nor bios. The purpose of said “feature” is to indicate that the system is still powered on in sleep mode, but the lit GPU (an option that also cannot be turned off, btw) serves the exact same purpose, and is inherently less intrusive to boot.

The only way to disable this baked-in setting will be to open up the case and physically disconnect the logo from the motherboard (which I am planning to do once I have the time). Because some people may not be bothered by this (or do not sleep in the same room as their computer), paired with the fact that the system itself is very solid, I did not detract too much from my overall score.

However, I would rate the system 3. 5 stars if I could, for the sheer hassle I’m going to have to go through just for my computer to be able to sleep in the same room I do. So, to summarize, Lenovo believes you may be too dumb to shake your mouse or tap your keyboard before immediately hitting the power button to check if the computer is powered on, and has helpfully added an BRIGHT BLUE BEACON to indicate that that is, in fact, the case.

Nevermind if you have to sleep in the same room as the computer, you need to be blasted with blue light all night while you’re trying to sleep. And you can not turn this option off; the only way to stop the glowing logo it is to disconnect it from the motherboard.

So pleased to finally manage to snag one of these Legion towers. I had an older Dell tower running on an HDD that got to the point of needing up to ten minutes to load the desktop, with Windows’ Task Manager frequently showing 100% CPU and/or disk use for a large portion of that time.

It was frustrating and the computer lagged a lot when using apps like Discord or sites like Twitch. Roughly five weeks into using my Legion, I can say that’s not the case here. Windows loads in under 15 seconds and, if the computer’s updating, it still boots up in less than a minute.

The tower itself has stayed relatively cool and quiet while running, especially compared to my ThinkPad laptop. Sites that previously chugged for me (YouTube, Twitch, etc. ) work great with the Legion.

I can consistently maintain 1080p 60 FPS quality when viewing livestreams. It’s a delightful change of pace. Gaming wise, Legion has definitely delivered so far. I have a DPS connection through the RTX 3070 to a Lenovo monitor, which has been crisp and responsive.

Thanks to the included Xbox Game Pass subscription, I’ve been able to try out a number of games I never would’ve looked at otherwise. My favorite so far is Psychonauts 2, which has run with unlimited FPS without any signs of lag or screen tearing while only needing a few seconds to load new areas.

Likewise, the Spyro Reignited Trilogy, which failed to run above 20 FPS on my old Dell, is buttery smooth. A second, older monitor is connected via HDMI, but so far the Legion has shown no signs of struggling to balance the two displays.

There’s a clear difference in brightness, but that comes down to the different connections. Maybe I’ll look into a second DPI monitor in the future. The one gripe I have is that there does not appear to be a slot for SD or microSD cards.

So I can’t pull photos off my camera or Switch’s microSD without some sort of USB adapter. I would encourage Lenovo to try and bring an SD slot back for future iterations of the Legion tower. Overall, however, I’m satisfied with the purchase.

Pros. Extremely powerful and amazing machine. If you want a computer that can handle anything this is the machine for you. Cons. This computer only comes with 2 HDMI outputs which is very important for hooking up monitors.

The port on the front of the tower is very lose and if it wiggles you lose your monitors. This is very disappointing. I have 3 monitors hooked up and only 2 can connect via HDMI and one only works half the time.

Again very disappointing this computer is to expensive not to have 3 HDMI ports that all work QVC Price was $1000 higher then the same computer on the Lenova website. When asked why they said take it or leave you may return it.

But because I needed the flex pay option for a $3000 computer I had no choice but to pay the extra $1000 i feel greatly taken advantage of. QVC changed and cancelled my ship date 3 times and in that process took the $500 payment in and out of my acct multiple times before finally shipping the computer that was in stock 3 weeks later.

The machine is great minus the HDMI port issue QVC did let me down in shipping , and in price. If you dont need the the flex pay option I highly recommended going to Lenova directly and saving alot ot money.

We bought one for our son and when we got it didn’t work. It wouldn’t power up. We took to Best Buy where we purchased it and they looked at. Could figure put what was wrong. We ordered another one. Got it today and same thing.

No matter where we plug it in it won’t power up. So I’m getting a refund tomorrow.

This PC is awesome! I couldn’t be happier! The only complaint that I have with Y920T is the keyboard and mouse which are in my opinion to big(had to get another desk to accommodate them). I haven’t had any issue with games or multi-tasking at all.

I’ve put every game in ultra or the highest settings in 4K without any noise from the processor or graphics card and played for hours. As far as upgrading goes, I see no issues there’s plenty of space to do whatever you need.

Simply stated this is one nice computer.
