20 Best Desk Lamps For Artists (2023 Updated)

I bought two of these to add to both sides of my TV adding onto my already existing Sync Box setup. Works great! I already have a couple of the regular ones and love how they throw light on the wall without really seeing the lamp itself.

These new versions with more color zones work great with sync. The only negative was how they were packed and how fedex banged the boxes around during delivery. One was hanging out and the other box was totally ripped up.

Luckily the lights themselves were ok, but Hue should pack these better for $300/each!.

The 2nd generation Signe Hue lamps are a great addition to my hue system. The hue app has been updated to allow for moving/transition “dynamic” color scenes, to add additional dramatic look to your space.

Easy to setup and configure within the app. The only slight downside is the cost for these lamps.

I like the ambient light and that you can sync it to the tv with another piece of equipment. They aren’t good for reading light, but they are great for general lighting. I love that you can change the colors and set moods.

While everyone’s needs are different, THIS LAMP addressed MY NEEDS, PERFECTLY!! I needed a lamp that was bright enough that I would see the work on my desktop, at night, with IT providing enough light to see what I’m doing.

CHECK! It also needed a dimmer setting, that was just enough light to be able to see my keyboard, while watching movies, etc. CHECK! I wanted a light that I could “bend” down enough that the light wouldn’t be in my eyes.

CHECK! I didn’t want a tall, clamp-on light. CHECK! Like the title says, it was the PERFECT light for me. and then to get it at the low price it was. DOUBLE CHECK!!!.

The product is better than I imagined. It is sleek looking and sturdy. The flexible neck is strong and the flat head light puts the light right where you want it. It is perfect and the 3 dimming options are great and since LED is not hot.

The black is fits in nice on my desk and I like the metal silver round flat touch on, dim and off button. Good buy for the money.

I bought both the clamp on and floor stand model. My wife stole the floor model for her jewelry making. I will assume that she loves that one. I still have the clamp on model. I clamp it to whatever board I have on my table sketchbox easel.

I am able to place the light just about anywhere I need or want to. The ability to have the light below me is great, there is no annoying glare with my glasses. I find the 4 settings to be very helpful in reducing eye strain.

This light clamps on to the side of my desk and I can use one of four light settings with a push of a button. The bulb puts out a good amount of light and each setting is brighter than the last. It is excellent for my watercolor painting and any other projects in my craft area when I need extra light.

It is adjustable so I can aim the light to go where I need. Hopefully, it will last awhile, because you can’t replace the bulb but the price is very affordable and I would gladly purchase again.

I bought this floor lamp model to use for my easel and my work table. It’s not very tall, to be honest, so pay attention to the measurements when you order. I like that the arm is adjustable so I can move it how I need it.

I do wish the highest setting was a touch brighter. But, all said, this is a nice lamp with a nice natural light color and it doesn’t make obnoxious shadows like some LED lights do.

I bought this for my home desk but returned it The quality was ok, but there isn’t much leeway with adjusting the lamp as with others of this style lamp. The LED light has a strong negative impact on me and makes me feel blinded and anxious.

Also, the bulbs are built in and cannot be replaced. they’re supposed to last up to 8 years, but sorry, that’s just not acceptable in this time of overflowing waste. Ottlites used to be known for their high quality, now, not so much.

I bought 3 different ones at the same time to see which style i would like, and returned all 3. Overpriced, cheap quality, environmentally irresponsible. Skip this one.

I was very impressed with the weight and quality of this lamp. It is sturdy and much more attractive than I expected. The light is sufficiently bright for reading and/or painting, and I like that I can adjust the spectrum of the output.

The shade itself is also adjustable in a variety of ways and feels secure. I have two quibbles which resulted in the deduction of a star: 1) the lamp arm cannot be adjusted upward beyond the angle that appears in the picture.

While this is fine for most uses, it does not allow for the light to be spread across a whole table. 2) The bulb is not replaceable and once it burns out, the whole lamp must be discarded. According to the box, the lamp is supposed to last for at least 10 years’ worth of hours, but I feel as though discarding a sturdy, attractive lamp even after 10 years is not very responsible or appealing.

Otherwise, it is great.

Although I don’t require elegance in an art light. It is very elegant and features a heavy and sturdy base. A variety of light settings is a plus. My only reservation is that there is no way to replace the bulb.

It is supposed to last for MANY hours, though. However, when it wears out – the whole lamp must be discarded. I plan to wear out first. At least I am recyclable. #sweepstakes.

This is a great little light! I bought it for crafting, to highlight whatever project I’m working on – knit, crochet, beading, etc It’s perfect. The light is concentrated, bright and white. The goose neck is very flexible and the stand wide enough to be stable.

Definitely recommend.

I bought it for my bedside nightstand. It’s very versatile. Pointed toward the ceiling it gives a nice glow to the entire room without blinding me when I get up to use the bathroom. I can also bend it down to read before falling asleep.

I love this desk light. I bought it to replace an older Halogen desk lamp which generated considerable heat. not to mention high wattage electrical draw. This Sunbeam light uses a LED. cool to the touch, extremely low electrical draw, and puts out more light than my Halogen lamp.

It is a very stylish, contemporary design. Also the neck is very flexible and the base adequately weighted. Suggestion. with such a low price buy several of them.

I debated several months as to whether or not to purchase this lamp. It is a significant investment. (That means expensive!). However, I have several other Dyson products and decided to go ahead with the purchase.

I am more pleased with the product that I had hoped and glad I purchased it. It fits my area perfectly. I appreciate and use the wide variety of options in terms of movement up, down, back and forth, and around of the lamp.

I like the lamp light and its adjustments. I wasn’t all the interested in the bluetooth connection and adjustment. I thought it was more of a gimmick. Initially I had trouble connecting the lamp. I already had the Dyson app and had another appliance connected.

I had to uninstall the app, reinstall it, and then connect the lamp without the other appliance connected. That was fine as I didn’t use the Bluetooth features on that appliance anyway. I was surprised by how effective the auto features are.

I am glad I took the time to connect it via Bluetooth.

I must say I was incredibly skeptical but supremely intrigued when I purchased this light, it was difficult for me to justify the price but given my history with other Dyson products I was at least willing to test this for 30 days and get my money back.

To be clear the current price of $599 is significant amount of money to spend on a desk lamp, but given how much time I spend at my desk, enhancing my environment in positive way is of high value. Setup was mostly a breeze, the only minor trip up was the connection of the vertical arm which requires pulling back the tension spring on one of the rollers.

Dyson. might I suggest you have a QR code that offers app download and/or installation and usage video to eliminate this very issue. If I were to purchase another lamp it would be a non-issue but helpful for a rookie.

The instant I turned on the lamp, I was struck by the quality of light. To qualify this, I have been on a mission to replace all the lights in my house with LED’s for the last two years and this is by far the most stunning and high definition beam I have experienced.

Then once I started to play with the capabilities of the lamp without the app, I was again amazed with the attention to detail and the subtle but impactful differences and changes the light makes at different points during the day light and night time.

I have been using this for 4 days and I already believe it would be difficult work without this source of light. It’s hard to explain and to be fair it could be a placebo effect, but I feel a different energy at my desk and there is a noticeable and positive difference on eye fatigue.

The app is straight forward and intuitive, but essentially provides all the same functionality as the tactile buttons on the lamp with the exception of the location based information and ability to remotely control and update.

Beyond all the tech, its movement mechanisms are the most overshadowed and underrated part the lamp. Adjustments are effortless and magical, bravo! My only gripe is the inability to rotate the head toward the ceiling or wall to bounce the light and fill the room when not at the desk, but I am guessing that will come in v.

3 Ultimately, I could never fathom a lamp packed with this is much tech and not for the sake of feature bloat but true tech to enhance your home and world environment in a positive way. It’s low energy, high definition, auto color temp and brightness adjusting, motion and time sensing, infinite architectural analog arm adjustments make the value feel more justified.

It’s either that or the light is casting a spell on me ;-).

This is the last desk lamp that you will ever need. I went back and fourth on this purchase for over a year as it is not the cheapest but in the end after taking it out of the box and setting it up, I realized it was worth every penny.

The pictures/videos/reviews don’t really do this thing any justice, it is an artistic statement as much as it is a desk lamp. My work requires 18 hours of either staring at small circuit components though magnifying glasses, or at a computer screen though blue light blocking glasses.

Eyestrain now can lead to the need for corrective lenses later on in life, knowing this, how could one justify not providing their one pair of eyes with the best possible lighting? This is more than a light for your workspace, its a beautiful investment in your health.

The app used to control all other Dyson products around the house adds the light seamlessly. If you are on the fence on this one, I assure you, it will not be a purchase that you regret.

I have a pair of Taotronics headphones for 2 years and am always impressed by its performance. However I just realized the LED desk lamp that I “inherited” from my ex-roommate a few years ago and have been using ever since is also a Taotronics product, which explains its superb quality.

Though I did not purchase the lamp myself, if anybody, particularly a student or office worker, wants a low-key fashionable and sturdy desk lamp that does its job reliably, this product is a must buy.

The four different light tones and 5 different brightness levels are very useful features that allow you to work comfortably under any circumstances, and you can also charge your phone using the USB output.

Adore these lights. We bought two- one for each kid’s room for their nighttime reading lights on their nightstand. They are the perfect nightstand reading light!!! They have a dim feature the kids use so the light is good for reading but not glaring to keep the kids awake.

The light bar folds to the arm but the kids just leave it open. The touch bar is sensitive and easy to see in the middle of the night if they wake up to go to the bathroom or need something, the little on light glows lightly.

Love the USB charging ports in the back and like that it swivels on its base. The kids put their little water bottles on the base. Light weight but sturdy and absolutely perfect!.

Great update to this Hue classic. Having been in the Hue ecosystem since the original version of this lamp came out, the latest round of refreshes is really nice. The brightness of the Bloom is fantastic and lights up a dark corner of my room quite nicely when used on the white spectrum.

The angle and cord placement of the lamp is intended to be used with it pointing back towards a wall, thereby providing indirect light. When used with colors, it is of course not quite as bright as the whites, but still provides a lot of output and covers off the entire spectrum of colors well.

The lamp is stylish and feels very well made and, like my other Hue products, I’d expect it to last for a very long time (I’ve had Hue lights in heavy usage for over 7 years and have never had any of them burn out or break to date).

Highly recommend.

I’m a huge fan of hue products. I have them all over my home. They work reliably, and add a nice dash of flare. The Bloom is especially nice because it’s a bit more interesting than the more typical lights around my house, which is fully outfitted with digital lights from LIFX, Nanoleaf, hue, and others.

This specific product was purchased as a mate to an older Bloom used on the first landing of the staircase to the second floor of my house. Setup was easy and integration with HomeKit was simple. I have it and the other Bloom set to a color profile used to illuminate the foyer and stairs starting at sunset and deactivating at sunrise.

It casts more than enough light and the color range is pretty great.

Needed a new lamp for my sit/stand desk that was bright and would illuminate the entire work surface. A bit spendy for what it is. I like it but am most unhappy given the price point that the LEDs are NOT replaceable.

🙁 Every other desk lamp I own has replaceable bulbs which (though they can be inconvenient & expensive) makes owning the lamp much more worthwhile. Personally, I don’t find “disposable” equipment to be cost effective OR good for the environment.

I have been looking for a desk lamp for a long time. I had one saved in another company’s shopping cart for months but never acted on it. This lamp is tall and thin. It has a great height range for the perfect adjustment.

The adjustable LED brightness is spot-on. I only wish that the lighted part also tilted because the lamp is positioned at the height I need to clear my desktop PC, but the light shines in my eyes. Not to worry! I’ll create a small visor and all will be well in my world.

This is a very versatile desk lamp. Multiple adjustability allows this lamp to be used anywhere on the desk. Optional clamp is a nice added feature added to this lamps versatility. The LED lamp head has three adjustable light intensities which allows the lamp to be used in many different lighting situations.

I purchased a Reliable Steamer from Northern tools. My wife has been looking for something to effectively clean the porcelain tile floor in our house. She is very pleased within the steamer. I purchased some add-ons and a hand steamer.

Fits perfectly and adjusts as needed. Very bright but prefer lower setting; glad to have the option. Well constructed.

The is a great light. It clamps on to the back edge of my table and swings the entire length so I can focus it wherever I need it. The length of my table is 10 ft so I have 2 lights which cover the entire area.

The light is adjustable low to high and is flexible from straight up to down close. I love these lamps. High quality and good value.

Dear Article, I have watched countless YouTube videos about interior design where your items were featured. I have always wanted something from Article in my little apartment. And so this Axis lamp was my first purchase.

Be aware that this lamp comes with an irregular dim LED such as the ones in a chandelier. If you are using it to read or fill the room with light it might not be sufficient. You might be able to find an adapter to use since you can not use E26 standard bulbs although the assembly instructions seem to depict otherwise.

Love this new lamp that dresses up a room Immediately. Everybody is complimenting me. I must say, like others pointed out, that it’s a little bit bigger than expected. It’s a lovely high quality lamp.

I honestly didn’t expect much from this little lamp, but I am pleasantly surprised. Puts out a substantial amount of concentrated light and is so easy to use. Attractive, too. Only drawback I can find is that the switch is a little too far down the cord for my tastes.

I don’t consider that a major drawback, however.

This is the best little light ever; i mix vegan makup; and getting the color right is very important. this light is portable and gives me the true colors that i must have.

This lamp is compact, has an integrated Li ion battery and a tiny footprint, and can be moved just about anywhere in the office to provide bright, even illumination. There are three different power/color settings, so you may choose between daylight, bright-white, and soft lighting.

I haven’t “run down the battery completely” yet, but I can at least assure you that this lamp stays on and stays bright for one hour or more without needing a recharge. I did notice, however, that after it was left on for this length of time it did need at least four hours of recharging time.

Be ready for that! Also be aware that the power/lamp selector button is “sensitive,” and that it is easy to turn this lamp on (or change its light characteristics, or turn it off) without intending to do so.

On the whole, a nice little addition to my home office.

This was a great versatile lamp for about a week and half that I could use it. I used it nightly! One evening after I was done using it, I went to charge the lamp and the charging piece (the one on the lamp) fell inside the lamp.

I can hear the little piece inside of it. I’m pretty careful when plugging in ANYTHING that uses micro usb type chargers and ports too, because they always have so many issues. I loved this lamp while I was able to use it, so I’ll be purchasing another one soon.

Just not this lamp. While coming to do my review, I see others have also had the same issue as I did. I hope they fix the issue before more customers purchase this and have the same problem.
