20 Best Desk Chair No Wheels (2023 Updated)

One of the best values for the $ I have bought in a long time. Easy to assemble; comfortable; great price; fits under desk; I don’t need arms (note that it doesn’t have them); moves up and easily; swivels.

We love our desk chairs. They are padded very well, love the upholstery, were easy for my Sister to assemble. Move easily,work well with our sewing machine cabinets. A good price for this quality product.

This chair is a great value. I recived it before it was schedule which made it a lot better. The quality is good and looks and feels strong – definitely worth the price.

Reading the reviews I came across Jerry’s on 11. 22. 20. He said “Nice chair for the price, i wish i could lock the back in one spot for better support” and that last part perplexed me. Now that I’ve been using the chair for a month – I get it.

When you assemble the back, the metal T that is right behind the chair back and in the top part of the plastic tube that connects the back and the seat, isn’t allowed to lie flat. The result is that the chair back allows you to lean back; the top of it tips back.

This means the chair back isn’t fixed in the vertical position you see in the picture. The result of this is poor back support. I continually find myself leaning back, which thrusts my head forward, pushes my butt forward and before you know it, this chair, which appeared to support good posture, back support, and head / neck alignment, is doing the exact opposite.

No matter how often I shove my butt back to rear of the seat in order to sit up straight, I eventually lean back and the top of the chair seat tips back with me and. my head is way out in front of my shoulders.

Other than that, it’s comfortable – including (actually) when you DO lean back, bad as that is for your spine. The seat is lengthy and has a nice cushion. I’d give it 2. 5, but opted for 3 as I couldn’t do a half star I’m hoping it isn’t too late to return it.

To sit up straight, truly straight, in this chair, you might as well take the back off and just use the seat. Then you’re forced to sit up straight because you have no place to lean back. Hmmm. That’s an idea.

I might do that.

I was impressed by the positive reviews, but mostly I was influenced by the Customer Care response to a question about place of manufacture. The Office Chairs representative stated that the chair is made in the United States.

This is not the case. In at least two places, there is the clear evidence that the chair is manufactured in Taiwan. Three-star reduction for dishonesty. The chair does appear to be well-made, all the parts were present in the box, and it was fairly easy to assemble.

However, the back brace came partially-assembled, which makes me wonder if they sent me a chair returned by another customer. Since the chair will get light usage in my home, I’m hoping that it will at least last a long time.

If I could turn back the clock, I would probably order a less expensive chair from “you know who. “.

For such a relatively expensive chair, you’d think it would be better. The seat tilts forward and the lever that supposedly adjusts it does not work. It has a horrible musty weird smell like it’s been in a warehouse for a long time.

Perhaps that will dissipate. The fabric attracts dust and animal hair in the air. It’s already clinging to it. Also the cushion is stiff/hard. It’s just not my chair. I bought another chair (mesh) through Staples for half the price that fits my body much better.

It has less adjustment options, but then it fits so I don’t need so many.

I ordered this chair because I wanted a white modern style chair to go with my new white and gray chair. First, this chair is NOT white like in the picture. It’s more of an ivory/cream color. Second, putting it together was a disaster.

The arms don’t match the holes in the side of the chair so you have to bend the metal to get the holes to align with the arms in order to screw them in. It was really tough. The seat is pretty hard, cushion isn’t very comfortable.

I’m pretty disappointed because I had such high hopes for this item. If you want a cream colored chair with the very firm cushion, this is definitely for you. But if you’re expecting it to be white like this advertises, you will be disappointed.

Good looking chair. However, it was very difficult install the arms. The entry for the screws is off center, therefore making this at least a two person job. It shouldn’t be this difficult to install.

I believe the product wasn’t checked properly before leaving the facility. When trying to get the arms lined up with the holes, the leather ripped.

i was looking for a simple armless office chair with firm but padded seat, a small footprint, and decent casters. problem solved. it’s not large, luxurious, or overly padded, and i’m skeptical of reports that indicate lower back support (if there is any, i haven’t yet discovered it, and the chair is too small for a back cushion), but for my 5’3″ frame and my propensity to sit on the edge of the chair while working (but preferring strong vertical support without lumbar when sitting back), it’s pretty perfect.

it’s also small enough, unlike any chair i’ve had at home or in the office, that i can easily roll it up flush under my desk for those times i do want back support. i would not recommend this for larger folks or those who prefer a large seat or tall back – this is a very small chair.

i’m a 5’3″, 135 pound woman and i don’t think i’d be comfortable in this chair if i were more than 3 or 4 inches taller/25-30 pounds heavier, and i certainly wouldn’t be comfortable in it even then if i preferred roomier accommodations.

but for my purposes and preferences, this chair definitely suits.

Upon first arrival the chair seemed great. The other reviews saying it’s hard to put together by yourself are only partially right. It was easy enough to do. Only part that was slightly difficult was attaching the back to the bottom.

The screws did not want to work with me. You’ll definitely want an open space to put it together, however. The chair was super comfortable for the first few weeks, but the cushion quickly deflated. That could be my fault, however, because I am on the bigger side and use this chair all day four/five days a week.

If you plan on using your desk chair a lot and want it to stay comfortable, this isn’t the one for you. Another issue I ran into is with the screws on the side becoming loose. It could be user error, but I’ve had to tighten them twice in the four(ish) months I’ve had it.

If you plan on getting this chair I would recommend getting a separate cushion to go with it. Overall it’s a pretty chair to add to your office, but it’s just alright.

VERY cheap/thin carboard shipping box. how could it survive delivery unscathed?. Mine didn’t survive. The star base was scratched up. The chair frame is finished with silver spray paint that chips easily on cheap black plastic.

I initially just wanted the shipping damaged part replaced. I threw out box. I assembled the chair waiting for replacement part. realized chair was junk after one day. the fabric is thin plastic and feels like it could tear easily.

The foam is super low grade with no support my back was killing me. The side screws stripped out after one sit ( I am 165 lbs). Return attempts took a month with impossible CHANGING demands from vendor! The chair does not come apart at the base once it is snapped together (They sent me a replacement base.

it was worthless cuz the parts don’t separate. I even take the base to my contractor son in law. No luck. Vendor chides me for not keeping the original box as it would have been easier refund. Seriously? I wanted to keep the chair when I got it and live in an apartment.

Why would I save box. I dumpster dive in a shopping center to find big enough box. I ask for directions to disassemble. No response. Finally the tell me to donate and get receipt. I donate and send receipt they say sorry no refund without product return.

I freak out and go back to charity to find chair and haul it back. I reach out to customer service. No help. I am told to find another box so all the parts fit inside and give measurements of shipping box.

I burst into tears and regroup. I call back and ask for supervisor. Kevin “gets it” and I’m issued a refund in less than 24 hours. I get another snarky email from vendor ( see attached photo). I cant believe Houzz allows this vendor to tarnish their good name!!!!!!.

You can not put this chair toether by yourself. It took 3 people in my house. Some of the screws were melted togther and when seperated it distroyed the treads i had to go buy screws. I also injured my back trying to get the seat attached to the back.

Probably operatir error but ive never put any piece of furniture together that gave me such a diffucult time and trust i have done plenty with no injuries. I ended up spending more than i wanted to and should have just got the chair i really wanted instead.

Also the opening on the headrest area had a slight blue color stain that ill be stuck woth for the life kf the chair. Nothing will get it out.

Ive been looking for a comfy office chair that would go low enough for my little legs. This chair is perfect! I love the stylish look but it is also very homey! Extremely easy to put together and so comfy!! Would definitely recommend and can easily sit in it for hours without getting uncomfortable!.

The product defects and the back has a bend, and it is not straight. Also, the arms side came without the hole to put the screws in. it’s hard to assemble the chair.

I live in a hot climate, and have found these mesh chairs to be airy at the back and very comfortable. My newest chair has a mesh fabric covered seat, which so far is cool and comfortable as well. I spend long hours in front of a computer.

My measure of a good desk chair is that you don’t notice sitting in it, after a while. You tend to forget about it. And this chair is like that. I enjoyed the “leather” seat model I had before as well.

This one however is particulaly is nice because it is light colored for a change and seems happier looking in my office!.

Attractive and good value in this chair. Comfortable seat and back. Application is kitchen chairs on ceramic tile floor, that said I did not use wheels that were provided and purchased roller blade office chair wheels that are friendly to ceramic surface.

Fantastic results and super quiet. Office chair manufacturers should just stop using conventional hard wheels. The rating on the chair is 250 pound based on materials of construction and design I would think that value to be understated.

It is pretty nice, my only issue was the shipping box was roughed up quite a bit. The chair came with scratches/scuff marks on the back side with paint chipping off. The seat cushion is stiff but maybe it will soften up over time.

I bought this because Im working from home now so I’m in it for 8+ hours 5 days a week. It leans back pretty far, which is nice when stretching. Arm rest are very adjustable, and can be moved completely out of the way.

It rolls pretty decent on carpet, I have some pretty thick carpet. My work paid for the chair but if it was coming out of my pocket I probably would have gotten a cheaper chair. This one matches our décor and is comfortable for long hours of work.

It’s worth it if you have $ to splurge.

I’m a BIG person with hips and a little extra in the storage compartment if you know what I mean. This chair fits me comfortably and feels amazing. The padding is excellent and allows hours of sitting.

Setup was a breeze because it included all the tools you need and step by step instructions. Took me less than 1 hour and that’s with me being distracted by tv. Yes, the back is itchy if you sit on it without clothes.

Wear clothes = problem solved lol. Definitely gonna buy another down the line once I see how this one holds up against time.

This is an okay chair. It’s thin, so not much padding. But overall it is comfortable. I am using it at my craft desk, so I don’t usually sit here for incredibly long periods of time. It did come with that really really strong chemical smell.

I thought it would go away but after months of still smelling, I finally just soaked it in air freshener spray. I haven’t noticed the smell since. I really like the green color.

This chair is a good height for me at my desk. It is not adjustable so it might not be right for everyone. The color is just like it was pictured, a light charcoal grey. It swivels nicely also. Great price I think.

It is upholstered beautifully, and has a firm seat not too soft.

Quick shipping, style is very nice (legs solid, chair fabric quality). It is not a comfortable chair however (got it for my computer chair) and if you are heavier you may struggle to fit into the chair.

It is confining. I will keep it since returning would be a hassle but just be sure to note the seat measurements.

Got this as a comfy desk chair for my WFH office and really love it! I perpetually sit cross-legged and wanted something with a massive area to sit on and this delivers 100%. The seat itself is plush and the back is low while still providing a lot of support for long days! You definitely have to have some muscle to attach the top section to the bottom but other than that it is a relatively easy build and arrived early, which was a nice surprise.

Excellent customer service from the seller as well – very kind and easy to work with. Would definitely recommend this chair!.

I love this fur chair. It was very simple and easy to assemble once it arrived. We had it together in like 15 minutes. The chair is pretty sturdy. It looks perfect in my office! Would definitely purchase again.

TraduireAfficher dans la langue originaleI type a lot & traditional chairs with arms don’t work for me. So I wanted a chair that would be as cushiony/comfy as a “boss chair,” but without arms. So far, this chair is great.

The padding is firm and thick enough to last several years. The back is not so far from the edge of the seat that I need a pillow (I’m under 5 and a half feet tall). The color is pure white. It feels as supportive as my chair at work.

Although it doesn’t recline, I find I don’t really use that feature as much & having the thick padding on the seat is much more important so my legs don’t fall asleep. It doesn’t move as far up/down as I would have expected – but it is fine for me.

I think if you were shorter than 5 feet or taller than 6 feet, it may be something you want to check out before purchasing. I was able to assemble the chair by myself in about 10 minutes. It was a bit physically challenging to get the back onto the base – and would have been easier with 2 people (but I was impatient & didn’t want to wait ;).

The mechanism has worn well over the past couple of years I’ve had this chair. Nothing has worn out; the bonded leather is still beautiful and shows little wear, even though it is used frequently (as a second desk chair in my study, which I use at a small folding table when doing filing.

If it’s still available, I would recommend getting one!.

I wanted a deep seated chair without arms for sewing. This works so much better than my last chair that was super thick cushioned and had arms. I can now scoot in under my machine and be at a good angle for sewing.

The gray is very nice and the wheels roll as if they are rubber wheels rather than the scratchy, noisy plastic ones. Rolled right over my Pergo flooring without a scratch after assembly into my carpeted sewing room.

It has a mid century modern vibe that I like too.

So the chair is cute just like the pictures and took about 2 minutes to pop together. Excited! Until I sat down. I love the ability to adjust the height but it has a very slight lean forward that makes you have to sort of “brace” to sit.

The other major drawback and reason it is now going to be just a barber chair for my grandsons is that the width caps the age at about 14 in my family of hips. I’m not large by any means but the chair is just not adult width with the exception of maybe a few.

It is a perfect size for a 3 and 4 year old. Recommended for teens, tweens and pandemic barbers for toddlers.

There was such a messy and annoying experience trying to order myself a nouhaus rewind chair. I was being sent constant messages for %15 off my FIRST ORDER codes, but there was no way for me to input the code on their website.

When I finally reached customer service, i was told that i can order the chair and receive a partial refund after my purchase, all i had to do was take a screenshot of my coupon code and send it to their support email, and so i did.

I do want to add that i also asked about their shipping cost for returns, which she mentioned would be refunded if i return within 30 days i believe ? And i also wanted to make sure i can get this additional %15 off in addition to their cutrent sitewide sale, which she assured me i would.

Those factors were all important in my decision to order the chair, and so i bought it right away. Anyways, after sending my email with my code, Their support reached back to me hours later and said that i was “confused”, that i was just sent a link to their %15 promotional sale thats going on their website, so basically i was not able to get an additional %15 with the code i received.

So i know the difference between a link and a code, the messages of the offers i was being sent included both (A link to what i wanted to purchase, and a 5 digit code). And so i replied to them the same day and they never responded.

I want to add on my reasoning as to why i know i was sent a coupon code and not just a link to my purchase. After my purchase, i was sent yet another message giving me my order# and another 5 digit coupon code for %10 off my purchase, with another link to their website right under the code.

So that makes it obvious that i was not confused, it was either support that was confused, or they just didn’t want me using a coupon code. I waited a day and after no response from their support email, i called, i told them about my issue with this and the lady who picked up was not the lady i talked to days prior, but she seemed familiar with the situation which led me to assume she was the one who reviewed my email.

She tried telling me the same thing, that i was simply sent a link to their %15 site sale, which i argued that i was sent multiple coupon codes FOR MY FIRST ORDER, which are completely distinct from the links, but all she could say was that during their website sale, they take out the input box to insert the coupon (which i was never made aware of until this final call), and she mentioned something along the lines of talking to her manager, and how i cannot get any further discounts on my product.

She then asked if i wanted to cancel my order and i agreed. What annoys me is that i called to make sure i could i could get my additional %15 off, Nouhaus would rather cancel my order than honor that.

I hope this gives whoever reads this an idea as to what their customer support is like, it was quite an annoying experience for me.

I’ve had this chair for about two weeks now and so far so good! The chair arrived sooner then I expected. Installment was easy-breezy and no other equipment required. The biggest necessities I needed in a new chair were, adjustable arm rests and the height of the chair, which this chair offers! Because it’s a “stool” it sits higher then normal office chairs, which is exactly what I needed.

I really like the stoppers on the wheels, as well as the adjustable head rest. Overall I’m very happy with my purchase, reasonably priced, and I’ve already recommended to a friend.

I was attracted to the chair because if it’s design, many office chairs are overly bulky or just unattractive. I also needed something that was going to keep me cool, I live in a tropical climate with no AC, and provide support.

They got the exact proportions of seat depth and back support so spot on that it feels custom made for me. I feel locked in and ready for work. And the wheels! You get a choice of old school plastic guys or roller blade-y wheels that are kinder to floor surfaces.

And just look nifty. They also give a little extra boost in height so for the shorter in stature among us, it really makes getting the right height attainable. Most times I feel like the chair has to be fully extended and over the course of the day, I start sinking.

So far, this chair performs so admirably that I don’t think about the fact that I am sitting at all.

This was easy enough to put together. The chair is comfortable and my son is happy with it, but a seam in the headrest area is unraveled and I didn’t notice it until after we put it together. It seems like a lot of work to return something to a store.

especially since there isn’t one nearby and I know I’m not getting this thing back in the box. It’s unfortunate to pay a decent amount and have a product that’s already showing evidence of wear. As far as the color goes, the leather is a bright white with a blue undertone.

It’s a noticeable contrast to the other furniture in the room and a much cooler tone than expected. All in all, it will work. If I had a Walmart within 20-30 minutes of my house, it would already be there by now.
